I went to jaco for several days,it is a little surfer community. It has a lot of small hotels with resonable rates. I stayed at the Posidan Hotel It is only about 25 yds from the beach. I paid 50 dollars a night. It has a bar called the Beatle Bar. There are a lot of Colombian girls there. I had 1 columbian and 1 girl from nicaragua. Both were excellent. There is a disco there La Central,i went at 11'oclock and it was not very crowed. They told me that it gets crowed very late. I walked every where and it is very safe. There are cabs if you want one. The resturants are very resonable.I had a very good chicken and rice dish for only 1700 colones. There are many small sodas with excellent food. a lot of the sodas have rooms for rent. Along the main highway fromJaco to manuel Antoinio you have the rain forrest on the left side and the ocean on the right. I booked Interbus form the Hotel Del Rey for 17 dollars each way. Most cab drivers wanted 80 dollars just to take you there. If any one has questions please contact me.

I stayed in a real nice hotel, in Jaco in February, on the main hihway for less then $20 per night. This was the high season. Bus fare was around $5 each way. Cabs get there no faster than buses.

Real Thrill - I talked with a local who goes there for vacation. He says there isn't much action. Your best bet is to meet a woman in San Jose and tell her you have a proposition for her. Ask her her fee for the number fo days you are taking her and negotiate from there. I did this with two women (and 8 and a 9). Prices aren't cheap these days in San jose, so figure $80 -$100 for each day plus travel, dinks, food, etc...

My advice, try and pick up a chickie who is on vacation there or hit on a local gal (that's what I do). If your talk is smooth and you make an effort to dance and chat, the sky is the limit from my experience. If nothing else, some locals may be able to point you in the right direction.

Regarding the Caribbean coast--

There are pros, but they are 99% drug users and the corresponding headaches are not worth it. While the area is nice to travel to, bring talent from San Jose, or try to work it with regular locals and other tourists. Lots of horny German girls on that coast looking for black action, so if you are of that race, you will do well. In general, plenty of partying in Cahuita and Puerto Viejo, so just go to the local bars and discos and try to be suave. Helps if you can dance to reggae.

Tamarindo has lots of activity: nightlife, surfing, and fishing.

Yes, definitely lots of women looking for fun.

Yes, good surfing if the conditions are right (but crowded, due to being a known spot and a large local surf population). Hint--get up early to beat the crowd (might be hard if you are out late chasing skirts).

Yes, good fishing, but expensive if you go on a sportsboat.

I recently returned from 3 weeks+ in Costa Rica.

My first stop after a few days in San Jose was Jaco. Jaco is the largest beach destination for mongering in Costa Rica and best place in town is the Beetle Bar. The bartenders are mostly women and mostly stunning, never mind the talent! Its a blast to go in and just drink and watch them work. They are also very nice and fun to flirt with.

Arrive there at about 10- 10:30, and the girls will start coming in. There are ten to fifteen or so regulars who are there night after night. Some of these range to 8's and can be very good. They all try to charge 100.00. (Currently about 38,000 colones) I think this is on a sliding scale related to your personal apearence and your ability to bargan in Spanish, but less than 70.00 I think would imply insult in most cases. I was giving them 35,000, about 90, and this was usualy no problem. Of course there are a few that will go to fifty but now were talking chubby thirtysomthings. Pay attention to the nationality because this will give you an indication of probable performance. Ticas are the best; they generaly are the most loving and sensual, although Nicaruaguans (Nicas) are a close second. Dominicans of course tend toward black but can be very nice also. In fact I had top class performances from both Dominicans and Nicas.

If you get a Columbian, it is likely to be all bussiness and money up front, which takes away your upper hand, and I would advise heavily against doing this. In fact I only did this on one occasion, and only talked money at all 2 or three times out of about 18 sessions on this trip. I just took them to the room, did it, and handed them the money as they left without a word. This is Ideal. I kicked one girl out and gave her five thousand to get rid of her because she wanted the money first, and wouldn't accept my terms. Avoid this though because they all talk, and this will be somewhat of a black mark, but be nice and pay well and its survivable. As I said there are some very nice regulars, but the real gems to be had will be the traveling semi-pros, many of these will be 18 to 21 and hot. I met my favorite on my second day at the beetle bar and had the experience of a lifetime. It was her second night there, and we split the Beetle Bar with her sidekick, also very cute and went to La Central, danced, hung out, and then I did them both with a lesbian show for very reasonable money.

Another realy hot Nica also took me to La Central, the major disco in Jaco, and grinded me for an hour at a table. This was cool, but she was 18 and looked it, and I'm pushing 40, and it looked like family night, and I got some realy nasty looks. Also she had friends there for whom I bought three white russians and nachos, which plus my beer added up to 20,000 colones (50.00) Ouch!. The beer is reasonable though.

Another thing about La Central, if somthing bad is going to happen to you, its probably going to be there, as an hour after I left that night a guy got shot dead in the bathroom, after some kind of fight outside. This is also a center for drug dealing.

Another place to find girls is Pancho Villa bar and resteraunt. This is where the locals go at 2 after the Beetle Bar closes. This is also a strip/ sex club upstairs, but you are going to pay as much as the Beetle Bar and more with only a fraction of the selection and the facilities to do it are kind of rough.

I also visited Tamarindo and there is a good scene there, although I went for ladies night at Bar Las Olas, and it was basicaly a medium sized group of non-pro to semi pro ticas all very hot going with the most attractive surfers they could find, and I ended up dry and frustrated, although there are possibilities in Tamarindo, and it was pretty fun anyway, and I went to a little no name private bar afterward and had a really good time.

I also stopped briefly in Coco Beach, its medium sized and looked like a good time, although I didn't stay and check it out.

As for me I had another night together with my lovely favorite, it was better than the first time, included a pool swim, and she agreed to give me a lift to San Jose, and possibly another night at her place, but she blew me off, and I was devastated, but I kind of think in some cases they promise somthing for the next day in hopes of building up thier fee, and I just gave her my usual 35,000. Whether this was a mistake, or she wasn't coming back anyway, I dont know, but I would not recommend feeding the greed; as 100 bucks is like two weeks pay for a tica, I think.

Planning on visiting Jaco Beach in April 2004 with some friends.

Looking for a nice, clean relatively cheap hotel.

Do hotels charge for female guests like in San Jose?

I need recommendations, prices and hotel phone #'s?

Any websites with pics of hotels for Jaco Beach?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to decide between Panama City, Panama 1 week w/a week at the beaches of the Pacific Ocean (Panama) following that, or a week in Heredia Costa Rica with a week in Samara Beach (Pacific Ocean Costa Rica).

Which would be better for a late 20s, clean cut American with lower intermediate Spanish skills?

I definitely want to meet girls during those 2 weeks as well as avoid being a crime victim. I'm leaning towards Panama at present but am interested in some honest feedback/comparison

Thanks.

Just returned from Dominican Republic via Panama and Costa Rica. First Costa Rica. Went up to Puerto Viejo; an unfriendly town for mongers. Lively bar scene though. After that down to Montezuma no mongering there, but cool town Terrific room by the month Luz de Mono. 200/mo Went back to Jaco and picked up a beautiful Dominican girl and brought her back three great days;she left demanding more money. Partied for like another week in Montezuma and went back to Jaco, and picked up the same Dominican girl. Its now about five days before christmas and the prices are going through the roof and I want to stay for a couple weeks anyway, and this means I need an apartment, my lovely Dominicana also wants out of where she's living and we finaly find a place and she moves in with me. She's like "you dont mind if I still work at the beetle bar and just do you for free" and I agree. But she comes home after the first night after the Beetle Bar and of course I'm insanely jealous and in the sack that night she agrees to give up her whoring ways. I'm excited and things go along well for a while but then she's like "I want to go home and see the kids" so were off to the Dominican Republic via the bus to Panama. We get to the Panama frontier however and my passport is deviod of the necissary stamps as it is a replacement from the embassy in san jose who has neglected to tell me that I cant leave Costa Rica without an immigration stamp you can only get in San Jose. So I'm at the frontera and I tell her go ahead without me, and give her two hotels where I will meet her in Panama City, a primary and secondary. So I'm in the street figuring the quickest way to San Jose. I end up taking a cab to Golfito(very beautiful) and a small plane to San Jose for 70.00us. I the go to Tica Immigration where there are absoulutly no other Americans just a bunch of Ticos trying to get to the United States, I am universaly ignored and steered from line to line and two hours later end up with the rubber stamp. I then am off to to the airport and am crossing Barrio Mexico past the hospital where I am attacked by two muggers. I'm struggling with them thinking I'm going to get my passport ripped off again and never make it to Panama. Amazingly though a female cop on a scooter saves the day and I'm on my way with one of my toenails ripped off and a sore jaw. I fly to Panama City on the second flight of the day. I arrive and it turns out the first hotel on the list has been closed for a year and the cab drivers are very amused by this. Third world poeple delight at any lack of knowlege in Americans that they themselves posses. ( this doesnt happen very often) I arrive at the Hotel California (25 a night, ac tv excellent resteraunt) and my girl answers the door with much relief at my arrival. My Impression of Panama City is very well developed for the third world and large. Didn't monger however and were off after one day to Dominican Republic.
Arrive in the Dominican Republic and go to the small town where she lives. This aint tourist country however and were living in a large shack. Poeple are both very friendly and very annoying no one can understand my bad spanish but the little women. Rum however is a dollar and a half a pint for the good stuff. This does little to make up for the change from beautiful Jaco beach to the dusty wild west type town, and I'm somewhat dissatisfied, but I rent and furnish a house and buy a motercycle and you find yourself being amused by the whole turn events at times, and well she is drop dead georgeous. On the way out we went to boca chica for a week; tons of working girls excellent prices nice little town, although I didn't do anything but party.
I would like to emphasize how dangerous San Jose is, I was mugged twice. Do not assume you are safe unless you are within sight of a cop, even in daylight. I have wandered all over the city and nothing has happened, but you literaly can never tell.

Thanks to insights from individuals on this site as well as some other research I will be spending a week in Heredia Costa Rica and then a week in Samara Beach (Pacific Ocean Costa Rica).

I'm a late 20s, clean cut American with lower intermediate Spanish skills who usually does okay in the US bar circuit.

I definitely want to meet girls during those 2 weeks as well as avoid being a crime victim. Any thoughts on these 2 areas as well as best way to travel around if there are other nearby areas? What are Heredia and Samara Beach like?

Just back from a long weekend in San Jose and Jaco. Met some nice girls at the Del Rey hotel during the day $50-$70.00 quoted for an hour both times by various girls-Ticas stayed for considerably longer; FS,BBBJ w/ CIM.Not the best quality but very enthusiastic. I believe as night falls better quality girls show up but gets a little pricier. Moved on to Jaco for Sat & Sun. There are two beautiful Columbian sisters who go by Sara and Carina who work out of the Beetle Bar in Jaco I spent two days w/Sara. GFE and then some, a little apprehensive at first but not bad considering she was a Columbiana. Quoted me $100.00 for an hour and ended up spending the night both times, I bought her dinner as well both nights.. Good time very sweet girls have another friend Jasmine who my buddy plugged also very sexy with great attitudes. Apparently OZ and Beetle Bar are the main mongering spots in Jaco or at least I was told so.Stayed at the Tangeri Hotel, spittin distance from Beetles $90.00 /nt included brkfst no problem bringing chicas and no extra charge but no hot water in room 3A. Beware of some peroxide blonde ***** who works out of Beetles, shes got a great body and a butt ugly face but my buddy fucked her anyway and he thinks she drugged him.I wish I remembered her name but I don't. He did get stoned with her at his room but some time after he became dizzy and disorientated and passed out shortly thereafter (or so he thinks)he was awakened by a knock on the door from some Tico thug who did not look friendly luckily a couple of us were next door and we ran him off so be carefull to all and use common sense, don't get stoned with hookers! Had a fantastic buffet at The Colonial restaurant in Jaco on the last night$35.00 U.S. all you can eat Shrimp(Jumbos) Crab and Lobster plus sides and an assortment of fresh fish-awesome also they have some very nice Chilean wines for reasonable prices.

A question for all regarding Heridia/alajuela/San Joaquin de Flores. I'm looking into Spanish language school as another "excuse" to go to C.R., and I like programs I've found through Amerispan in these three cities. I'm seeking current, ground-level information about discreet p4p opportunities: semi-pro college girls in Heredia? Local residents and/or frequent visitors to these three cities are urged to reply, and I thank you.

Atl Dennis,

No there is no action around that area unless you are into fishing.

But I understand it is an hours flight to San Jose (SJO) by local propeller planes. And the bus is an alternative. You may have to share your seat with chickens and pigs.

How do you get a $130 fare RT? Friends and family deal?

If I had that deal I would take it and take a bus to SJO or just enjoy the beach.

It is better in winter however as it is a nice change from ATL. It is humid in the summer months.

Alt Denis,

Been to the Playa Del Coco, Playa Hermosa region about 4 times. None for mongering, either with my son or my novia.

As mentioned it is not a mongering spot. Having said that I did receive many sltry glances from the local chicas, bt never ventred to the discos.

Chances for a GFE possible with time and lck, chances for a P4Play nil

Bt the area is beatifl and the diving is great.

This web side have apt. in CR but better yet you can advertise in it explaining what you want. http://www.strayreality.com/class_homes_for_rent.htm

Another is www.costaricarentit.com.

There are also two newspapers: diario extra on line and la nacion.com that list in the classified section rental places.

Good luck....

I'm curious would the Beatle bar girls spend a whole day or night with you for a price? Or is it just an Hour minimum?

Thanks

FX Guy:

I am sure that a day or full night can be arrange with a Beetle Bar girl but IT IS GOING TO COST YOU. There is no other action in Jacó so it is a sellers market. They ussually charge $100.00 per hour/shot.

You are far better off geting a girl at the MANY MP'S in San Jose and taking her with you. If you plan it right you may have a test drive before you commit.

Good luck and happy huntings.....

Mose,

Is the Middle Bar the name of the bar? I was just in Jaco and don't remember anything like that. Is it on the main street? I know the town pretty well, if you name something by it (Mas y Menos, etc) that would help. I'll be there again soon and will look it up.

Hi Johan,

All you need to drive all over CR is a valid DL & a passport.

I would not recommend going to Limon. It is a pretty tough town. It is the only place besides parts of San Jose that makes me real nervous.

Panama is a very long ride from SJ. Once you get to Golfito the roads are pretty bad. They will not let a rental car across the border. So if you go into Panama you have to find someone to watch your car.

GOOD LUCK

For those of you who may not be familiar with this concept, a "hard return" is created when you press the "enter" key while typing, thus artificially shortening the length of the text by forcing it to begin on the next line. Hard returns are also caused by some word processing and email programs.

More preferable would be a "soft return" wherein the text is allowed to continue automatically on the next line when it reaches the right side of the screen thus automatically adjusting to the varying width of each viewer's screen.

If your reports are being composed in a word processing or email program that is artificially inserting hard returns in the text, then please consider composing your Forum reports in another program or in the Forum's "Add New Report" window.

In case you ever consider a bus trip to Panama:

From Inside Costa Rica Aug 3, 04:

No Mans Land, Paso Canoas, Costa Rica
By traveler: chefortune

The border crossing between Costa Rica and Panama has to be the least hospitable in Central America, if not in the entire continent. Today I crossed it on bus for the second time in a place called Paso Canoas (the passing of canoes) and I really wish I was passing gently down a serene river on a canoe instead of going through the red tape mayhem they have set out for tourists here.

The first time around, I was heading northbound with all my luggage from Panama City to San José, and I hit the border at around 5 a.m., after roughyl 8 hours of overnight travel. All 60 passengers disemabarked and grabbed their luggage from the underneath compartments, then were ushered into a dingy room and made to wait for more than an hour until the border patrol opened up. Then began the search...a three-ring circus that began with them strategically positioning us in various parts of aforementioned dingy room, whilst having us line up the luggage in neat rows. In came a drug sniffing dog that merrily leapt and sniffed among the rows of bags as we looked on. All except for a blind man on the bus who was rightly wondering what the hell was going on.

After the pooch was taken back out, we were asked to orderly line up to have our bags searched. Thus began the frenzy of everyone trying to find their cases in the rows and get back in line to have one of the two officers massacre their neat packing jobs with grubby hands, throwing books, sunscreen and lingerie flying in all directions on the worn counter. Every bag was gone through in this manner, by only two officials. So for 60 people, times at least two cases each, plus backpacks, purses and the odd bodybag (ok, not really), there were more than 200 pouches of crime in all to be sifted through. When it came to my turn, the flary-nostrilled cretin beholden to the search of my boxers and socks had trouble figuring out why I was Irish but lived in Argentina. This conundrum, which one could physically see being twirled around in his head, came out in the eloquently grunted question,"Are you an (expletive) gaucho?" Having answered in the negative, I could see he was pained to have to think once again. His next ploy was to try and figure out how it could be possible that the person in front of him, frail and tired at 5 am after a long bus ride, could be the same person in the passport photo of what was surely a happier moment several years earlier. "You used to be fat," was his epiphanous summation of this mental puzzle. After several minutes of such pithy conversation with the official, I was on my way.

The fun was far from over yet, though, as the bus took off with our luggage to the other side, while we were left to deal with Panamanian immigration. AKA the place where you buy a $1 stamp which was the brainchild of a local politician, for the sole reason to make him money. Ingenious.

After this, we had to enter the obstacle course of the physical border crossing--a stretch of a couple hundred metres of dust, potholes, a giant truck wash and seedy looking businesses. Then the mirror process of immigration lines and bag searching began on the Costa Rican side.

Nearly a full four hours after arriving 200m down the road, we headed off once again, only to be stopped three more times on the road for passport checks done by police. At one of these, two unsuspecting Jamaican ladies who had forgotten to get the Costa Rican stamp were hauled off to be carted back to the hinterlands of the border crossing.

A month later, I was hurtled back into this fray once again, this time consolidating my luggage in hopes of a smoother time. However, the wily border crones had a better scheme set up for me this time, which was a crossing in broad daylight. As soon as we disembarked and lined up on the Costa Rican side, we were flanked by a crowd of K*ds offering to show us the way to the Panamanian side. Since there is only one road in Paso Canoas, and only one direction to get to the other side, this seems like a no-brainer and the K*ds are usually shooed away at first.

But the knee-high knowitalls are persistent and follow you all the way down, and they actually become useful after a while, when you buy your $1 useless stamp and face off with the growling border official who persists to ask you a series of questions despite having all the answers in front of him on a piece of paper you just handed him.

At the end of this process, they tell you that they decided you have to buy a tourist card (only sometimes and for some travellers, apparently depending on their mood--two Canadians travelling on my bus needed one also, but two Brits did not, even though they tried waving money to buy one, just to be safe, but were refused). This is where the pestering K*ds actually became useful, dragging us off to a little hidden away office where the toursit cards are issued.

Here I was pitted against another official who asked all questions whose answers lay right in front of her. When she asked which Ireland I was from and I told her, I was told it didn´t exist. Silly me, there is no Republic of Ireland, just South Ireland. South Ireland is my new citizenship.

Anyway, after forking over my $5 for this completely useless bit of paper saying that this poor schmuck from South Ireland can have 90 days in Panama, I returned with my pint size guides, whom I was kind of warming up to at this point.

Back to grunting official number one, who, despite the lack of a queue at this point, waited a good 2 minutes before talking to me. Then he told me I needed another piece of paper that the previous official hadn´t given me.

A mad dash back through the dust, and the paper was there. "It must have dropped" she told me. Right. Back for a third time to the grunter, who by this time was actually gone. In his place was a border official who was all smirky and persisted in calling me Fortune, as he asked me a series of questions, the answers to which were on the papers in front of him.

Then, escorted by the lollipop guild representatives, I went to have my bag examined, hauling it up and proudly unlocking it and opening it up ready for inspection. The official took one look at my passport and asked, though the answer lay in front of him, "Where are you from?" South Ireland I responded, then he handed the passport back and told me to go ahead, I was finished. He didn't even bother to see that I had packed clean underwear this time.

The K*ds all lined up around for their reward for a job well done, more joining up with the two who had helped me out from the start (or more accurately, bugged the hell out of me in the start, then helped me later on). Apparently all the town were their cousins and felt that through their blood relation were entitled to some contribution on my part as well. Though they were happy enough to be told that I would look for them specifically on my next voyage through. Next time, however, it will be a serene passing in a canoe.

Dear Mr. WW

If you are not a comedy writer you should consider making a change, you may become a prize winner. I needed a good laugh today and you provided several of them. I used to work in Tijuana and live in San Diego and your story brought back some memories of border crossing ordeals. Thanks for the inside because I was planning to make a trip to Panama from CR next month but I may go to Nicaragua instead. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

The funny thing is, two blocks from the border at Canoas you can walk or drive across with no hassle. There is no fence or anything. Of course if you are caught, bend over and spread 'em.

You can also fly to Coto47 from San Jose. It is then a 10 min, $5.00 taxi ride to pasa canoas. When you are not on a bus you can get through the border in less than 10 min. Have done it many times myself. Coto47 is just a small, small airfield with one shack for the airport. It sure beats the 9 hour bus trip. Costs about $75 for the plane. It leaves from right next to the international airport and there is only one flight per day. Leaves about 6 in the morning. You should have visited the many bars in Pasa Canoas. I have actually, after much sifting found a few very nice and beautiful ladies. And for $15 for half and hour it is a bargain. That incluces the room. There are about 5 of the bars and they are all on the Costa Rica side. You can cross into panama and then go to them if you want. There doesn't seem to be much of a problem crossing back and forth as the road runs right in between the 2 countries for miles. There are many side roads that go into both countries. You wouldn't want to go to far without your papers though. About 7-8 miles towards puerto armuellos from pasa canoas is a immigration check.
Good luck,

Traveling there for business in the next few weeks, can anyone give me a report on monger action in the area? I'd hate to be stuck in a quiet room with nothing but a beer.

Has anyone out there heard of a club in Jaco, Costa Rica called something like “Vivas”? It is a strip club with Ticas, Nicas and Colombianas. I am aware of the Pancho Villa Bar which has a strip club/brothel upstairs … is there the possibility that “Vivas” is the actual name of the club upstairs over Pancho Villa? Or, are these two separate places?

Has anyone met a dancer in Jaco named Vanessa? She is a Nica with an average body, but an incredibly beautiful face, wonderful personality, 10+ GFE, and in bed she will absolutely suck you dry!!!! She is a wonderful girl and really tremendous in bed. She may be working at Vivas or Pancho Villa.

I recommend that you look up Vanessa. Her eyes will melt you, her personality will make you fall in love, and her blow-jobs will absolutely take you to Nirvana.

Let me know if anyone out there knows either Vivas or Vanessa.

Softball,

There is no decent hotel I would recommend in Puntarenas. Just pass through and forget that city. I had some job to do with my former boss in the city a few year ago, but we lived on my boss's boat for a week. I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. I visit Costa Rica at least 6 times a year but I will never travel to the city again.

Puenta Arenas is as dry as a mother Teresa's pussy. No action there and one hell of a junkyard. Avoid it at all costs.

Was in Jaco Beach last week. Not much going on. Hardly any action in so called Beetle Bar. All girls in San Jose know about it. Did see a great looking black skinned beauty at the Hotel Cocal, she looked eager but alas I was with my own supply from San Jose.

I have visited many times over the last 15 years. A great place for many years. I always ranked it a 6. Alas, it has fallen to a 2 or 3. Why? Marriott built a large resort nearby that caters to deep sea fisherman and golfers. The men staying there will pay chicas mucho money. Many are on big expense accounts or are clients being entertained by corporations. Consequently, all the chicas want to charge more and provide mucho less service. And the new code of chica conduct seems to be ''lie''. The Beatle Bar is the place to go-- maybe 75 chicas from 9pm to 2am. Later action at Nacho Daddy´s, Pancho Villa, and Cental Disco. The beach, surfing, and food is great. But with me finding only 1 good session in 6, it is disgusting. AVOID JACO.

Is it possible to travel by bus /buses from Jaco to Golfito? How about hitch-hiking? Or offering truck drivers some cash for a ride? I am interested in seeing property near Quepos, Manuel Antonio, Dominical, & Ballena. I am on my way to Playa Zancudo.

I stayed in Zancudo in August of 2001( took a bus from Coca Cola to Golfito - 6 1/2 hours) and was in Jaco this last March.I don't wish to rent a car and I am travelling alone. I don't want to waste time going from Jaco back to San Jose and then to Golfito. Want to see properties. Any suggestions? Thank you for your assistance!

Here this might help out I wonder how much has changed. Check this out Guys>>>>> Golfitos history is inextricably intertwined with the giiant transnational United Brands company locally known as La Yunai which first set up in the area in 1938. United Brands built schools, recruited doctors and police and brought prosperity to the area, but following fluctating banana prices,a three month strike and local unrest, they eventually decided Golfito was too much trouble and pulled out in a hurry in 1985.The town died and gained a Reputation for rampant unemployment, alcoholism, abandoned children,PROSTITUTION And General unrulliness. GEEEEEZZZ Guys this seems like a fun place. Why does no one post about the XXX scene here baffles me? Can a Costa Rican Monger who knows whats up post some info here? I can post some info on Accommadation here>>> Accommadation in Golfito comes in two varieties, swish places in The Zona Americana, catering to the buisnesspeople and shoppers at deposito, and decent, basic rooms in the pueblo civil. Some of the places to stay are Cabinas Playa Cacao,Esquinas Rainforest Lodge,Las Gaviotas and Samaoa Del Sur. Ok I posted What I can Now Can someone post good info here on The PROSTITUTION Scene in Golfito? Something still must exist here. Later,Sincerly Nibu Raphael.

OK nibu
I was in golfito 5 years ago. I can find working girls almost anywhere in Costa Rica including Limon, but not in Golfito. I was with 2 other guys and it was my birthday. This is how we ended up in Golfito because one of my friend John was going to take me there for a good time, for all the reasons that you mentioned. Me and Andrew my other friend were in San Jose banging these two 18 year old nicas when John said "Dino let me take you and Andrew to Golfito for a good time." "It sucked". Finely when John felt guilty for taking us there he said lets grab a cab and ask the cabbie they will know were the action is. We flagged down a cab and in Spanish asked him were we could find some action the response was great. Go to San Jose was his response. With that we went back to the hotel and left by plane the next day
I hope that helps you out.

I agree. I went there and looked at half a dozen hotels recommended by my Moon handbook guide. All of them were horrible. So I caught the next boat out towards Montezuma.

It looked like a rough town, not at all like most other towns in Costa Rica. I got the impression it was very seedy, that you could probably find crack *****s on the street... and get your throat cut. But that was just my impression, I can't back it up...

Panco Villa is about 4 blocks south of Beatle Bar. It is a normal bar/resturant that is frequented by ladies of the night. Upstairs is a place called Diva's which is a strip bar with private rooms but I am not sure if you can get FS. I would imagine you can but it would probably cost you a bunch. Girls are hot in Diva's but it gets crowded in the high season. My advice would be to check the joint out.

I haven't been there in about a year or so but it's a late night place. The migration is from the Beatle Bar to the Disco about 12:00 or so, maybe the Monkey Bar is now somewhere in between. After the Disco slows down about 3:00 or 4:00, then you go to Pancho VIlla's, that's where all the girls end up.

Good Luck

This early into winter, and I'm getting cabin fever here in the Northeast, which causes me to browse orbitz.com for fares to Latin America.

Mind if I pose a couple questions?

For one, I'm thinking about heading to Tamarindo, CR, for a week or so to enjoy the sun and the local talent. But is there any talent to be had, and if so, for what kind of price structure?

Also, do you well seasoned tico travelers recommend flying into San Jose or Liberia? I live in a city now, and really want open space. But maybe San Jose is worth checking out.

Please feel free to share your insight.

Gracias, Vaquero

As for flights, Liberia is definitely closer. If you are already in San Jose, you can fly to a small airport near Tamarindo (I did this on a small prop plane, but it wasn't from the main San Jose airport, it was from a smaller airport on the near west side of downtown).

Plenty of European and some North American tourists around, though I didn't see any single women that got me interested. It is a nice small beach town though, and there are a couple of good golf courses within an hours drive or so.

Liberia's airport is closest. If you are interested in spending some time in San Jose, there was a small airline flying between San Jose's 2nd airport and a small airport close to Tamarindo (we're talking a small single prop plane seating maybe 8 passengers - but it was a decent plane and the views were awesome).

Actually, from whatI hear from native ticos and surfers that have gone to the Pacific Coast side, there plenty of working girls. Plenty. But I'll probably try to score nonworking for awhile, till I lose patience. I'll be there like 11 days or so and return with photos, Ojala.

I will, no doubt, end up back in Costa Rica, unless I come across some amazing info before i finalize plans. I was wondering if anyone has been to Santa Ana. I have thte choice to study in either Santa Ana or San Jose. I enjoy San Jose as a city, which probably sounds odd compared to other oppinions posted here about this city, but Santa Ana might be a better option. I do however, need to meet plenty of beautiful women, need bars, discos, and probably more ,onger specific locations, and I will try to rent an apartment for the alloted time. If anyone has any info about the availability of these in Santa Ana it would be greatly appreciated. I know the cities are close, but ten miles is not an ideal bus travel several times a day, and I will not have access to a car. Any other countries or institutes in ideal for spanish study would also help.

Thanks in advance, and I will show my appreciation in reports and photos of my time in the selected location.

This sounds like a no brainer to me. Any "action" if any in Santa Ana is going to pale in comparison to downtown. If you were one of those that couldn't stand the diesel fumes, traffic, crime, etc. of downtown than I'd say get yourself out of the city in the fresher air of the surrounding hillside towns and just head into the city when you felt like it. But since you don't seem to mind any of the downtown negatives that much, I'd say pick one of the many fine schools closer to your evening entertainment. I spent a month at CRLA (a couple of blocks on the downtown side of the San Pedro Mall) and would definitely recommend it to others. Forester in roughly the same area is another that is so supposed to be very good. Go to www.123teachme.com for reviews and comparisons of the various language school options.

I spent a week in Tamarindo in August of 05 and absolutely loved it. I was traveling with a few buddies of mine and we rented a private villa close to the Barcelo for 280 per night. This was a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit, with private pool, hot tub on the roof, and gated security (not that security is much of an issue in Tamarindo). There are a few spots in town for drinking/dancing, but each spot has its own night, and everyone will be there. I dont recall specific names, but there is only 4-5 spots, and only 1 of them is happening with action each night. Tico girls hang out all night, and you usually had 15-20 working girls to choose from, but on several occassions, we left with them and did the deed for free. Most are looking for 40-50 bucks, and this can range from an hour to all night. I'm looking at the Playa del Coco scene which is farther north, closer to Liberia, hopefully for a summer trip.

Well if you want to study spanish, it is a well known fact that Peru speaks the purest form. The two best spanish schools in Lima are ICPNA and EL SOL.
I can get you the websites if interested. Both schools are in Miraflores , the best area of the city and it goes without saying the mongering is way better here.If you choose ICPNA you will be surrounded with literally hundreds of young coeds looking to pratice english with you. As a student you will have a pass to the student lounge and all the beautiful free pussy you can handle.

Gentlemen,

I must say that Jaco beach was off the chain. I was there with some friends from 28 DEC 05-1 Jan 06. It was wall to wall girls. Every club from Beatle to Pancho villa's was out of control. It was pay for or play for in every direction. All of us (4) had girls on our arms and balls every night. Some were to pay for and the others were just in it for the ride. Every day was absolutely "Crazy". I can only hope that Jaco earns it's own page to place a report to show it's true valor. I cannot speak of Jaco out of season. However, on Christmas break it was off the hook.

Peace out.

I've had a few PM's regarding the villa I rented in Tamarindo. I used a company called RPM Services out of Tamarindo, which manages properties in several CR towns. This company is very reputable, owned by an american, and listed on several interline travel agent sites (where I found them). I stayed in the Courtyard Villas, which was a 3 bed/3 bath unit, with private pool, and a private hot tub on the roof. I had a discounted rate as an airline employee for 285 per night (low season rate), which normally rents for roughly 325 or so. If anyone would like additional information drop me a PM and I would be happy to give you more details.

Guys,

Thank you much for the advice and links, and to Lima Busy for the Peru tip. Lima, I think you single-handedly convince me to change that to Peru. I guess it didnt strike me earlier because I had a different picture of Peru before your response, which le me to much reading. In addition to it actually cuunding ideal for what i'd like, I am quite sure that by bus i will be able to reach Ecuador and Columbia where I have many friends that I've bee meaning to visit, and Venezuela. Not only am I very interested i the current political situation, but I beleive it is a good point from which to visit another place I've been planning on this summer: A place too taboo to mention and one that is illegal to the citizens of that "freest country in the world" that we've all been hearing about. I havent had much time to investigate too much further into potential spanish schools, but the links provided by the other members who responded have been, and will be, no doubt, very helpful. I am about to engage in a local intensive spanish class and the challenge is now to find an institution in Peru that can most effectively find determine my level and build from there. The one you mentioned specifically, Lima, doesnt sound like it is intensive enough for me in that department, but I am so Intrigued but your description of th female student body that I might try to find another class or two to take there strictly for that purpose.

Thanks again, guys. Very helpful. I wil show my apprecition with making all helpful info available. And I'm sure I will have more hounding questions to ask in ther near furure! ;-)

Take care, be safe.

It could be because, compared to SJ (or even Jaco), monger action there is seriously lacking. OTOH, latest word is that Bill Bullock (of Park Hotel fame or infamy) is there and has opened a small bar. So anything is possible.

So I went to Costa Rica with the goal of enjoying the great outdoors and maybe getting some action. At least I got to enjoy the outdoors. Didn't get any action, but didn't try all that hard, either.

My first stop was Tamarindo, a once quaint fishing town now home to Burger King and Pizza Huts. The booming tourist trade has encouraged Colombian and Dominican hookers to set up shop there, and they routinely ask $100 a pop. And from what I hear, gringos young and old alike routinely pay it.

Reckon I was too cheap. Knowing the cost of living down there, I'd feel silly doling out that kind of cash for an hour's worth of sex, especially when you can get a good massage and head in NYC for not much more, if any more.

During my travels, I also spent a night in Santa Cruz, where a hotel employee told me he could score me a chick for $50. (This, after his initial price of $150 for the woman. I was more interested in catching another bus.)

Locals tell me they pay maybe $10 for sex at a *****house in Santa Cruz, one right by the college, though an older Canadian guy told me the lady there wanted to charge him $50.

In Samara Beach, where the working girls seem largely confined to weekend nights, a guard told me there was a *****house named Mango outside town. Taxis could probably take you there.

I guess I was in this mood where I didn't feel like premediating the hell out of getting sex for money. If it happened, it happened. If not, no big dealio. For those prices, I can get it in NYC and keep my passport secure.

One night in Liberia, at the Kuru bar, I chatted up a morena dominicana about sex. She started asking $100 for an hour, citing that she worked in Tamarindo. I got her down to $30 for the hour before I congratulated her on her self-esteem and walked out.

One of my last nights in CR, I went drinking alone in a small town near Tamarindo and met up with a Nicaraguan dude I'd visited with on a bus. He set up a deal for this good-looking black Panamanian bartender chick, Donna, to meet me the beach the next day for two hours for $50. This one I had good lust for. But alas, she never showed.

Tried to score with local chicks for free, but they know the score. Don't get me wrong, I think there are great people in these towns, but they see a growing influx of Americans and Canadians spending money fairly freely. And a lot of time, they treat the locals all like servants anyway.

Be careful in Tamarindo. Talked to a Canadian dude whose drink got spiked with something. He woke up four hours later with empty pockets. When I got drunk, in what used to be the Hotel Kalifornia bar, those Colombian hookers seemed to be staring at us like Dobermans on point.

Be sure to do the canopy tour in Monteverde. It's a blast.

Locals tell me that you can go drinking in the smaller towns and have no need to pay for sex. Just be friendly and speak Spanish. Maybe dance salsa or something.

Peace out, Vaquero

So I arrived around 7 pm yesterday and as I walked past the bars I thought to myself, "party town? " yeah right. Friday night and it was completely dead. So I ate something and took a nap. I got up and went to the monkey bar at midnight and it was getting packed. Tremont´s timeline seemed accurate. Everybody was leaving the beatle bar and going to monkey bar, afterwhich they all continue (same ones) to nacho daddy´s. I was amazed by just how many girls there were. I could not hardly even tell the workers from the non workers (sometimes). I was also amazed that they were also asking for $100. What the fuck? they seemed to negociate a little more than at the blue marlin, but they still seemed so hardcore.

Are they like this everywhere? does anybody know places in jaco or peurto viejo with "not so hard" girls. Like some gfe maybe? I'll be here until probably Monday, then on to peurto viejo, so if there´s anybody around who can show me how it´s done, I'll buy first round.

Thanks

I'm starting to think that Jaco is better for the older mongerers. I'm making eye contact and talking up the girls, but they go straight past me for the old fat guy with no hair (I mean, hypothetically speaking, of course).

I think maybe it has to do with the bizzare combination of young surfers and older mongerers being the larger population of the town. They are trying to weed out the young (poor) surfer guys and get the older, divorced guy. These girls are sharp! I even overheard one of the older guys telling a girl that he pays child support or something. I think these girls are looking for exactly that kind of guy who maybe will help support one more "child" for a few months at a time.

So for my last night I figured, WTF. I need to go to bed early, and I saw this amazingly hot girl. I´d give her a "9" she demanded a $100, but agreed to give me an hour and a half, so I caved in (she was really hot.) well, we get to the cabinas and she starts arguing over the fact that I want to leave the light on. Then she demands to be paid upfront. I tell her I'll give her $40 at first, then the rest later, but she would not agree so I let her get herself a taxi back to the bar (I didn´t give her a dime). I´m actually glad it went down like this. She left, and I wasn´t going to change my mind, because I knew if I paid her upfront, it would have been like trying to make love to a fuck doll. So I'm glad I didn´t waste my money.

So that's it for jaco. The beach is dirty and it´s streets are even dirtier. There are hot girls, but they are more expensive than in spain. So my final thought is that there are much better places to monger than here (the blue marlin, even).

Finally, I cut open my leg while (trying) to surf and had to get stitches, so I can´t surf for a while. So i´m back in san jose now and heading for Cuba a little earlier than expected (tomorrow). I hope to have reports for Havana soon.

For all you frugal guys out there. Like me.

I just came across a website and information about a very inexpensive hotel in Jaco Beach. It's called the Pension La Casa de Mafalda. Their website - which can be found by doing a search on Google. With their name (Pension La Casa de Mafalda) says they are beach front, with a swimming pool, breakfast, etc. And that the rate is $20. 00 per person.

There is also a phone number (local - Jaco) for the hotel. I am not sure if this $20. 00 is for a single alone. Or would be doubled to $40. 00 if there were two persons in the room. The site is unclear on this point.

I had another small hotel spotted which was just to the East (next door) to Clarita's Beach Hotel - just North of town (Jaco).

I've been to this hotel before (in person) but have never stayed there. I did look it over, and it also has a nice pool, with pretty nice rooms (nothing fancy) but with private bath, etc. And the price when checked about 3 months ago was $ 20. 00 per night - per room.

It could be that this hotel (near Clarita's - This is the "Get Waco in Jaco" place) is the same as the Casa de Mafalda. But I can not confirm this. I am just guessing on that. Could be that they are two separate hotels.

I will be in Jaco the 1st of June '06 and will report more (from the road) after I go there and check them out. Steve

Steve,

Let us know how you make out in Jaco in June. Been to Jaco twice in Feburary 05 & 06. Heard its pretty dead in the summer, but u never know maybe good bargin hunting. For some non/semi pro action invite the local waitresses, bartenders & hotel staff to the afterhours club Nacho Dadies.

Hola,

I have found two other guys (members of this forum) who will be in Jaco Beach the same time as I, and who have arranged a deep sea fishing trip and have invited me to join them.

Thanks to Blue Devil and his wingman Jim, for being gentlemen and inviting me to go along with them on their fishing charter. Our fishing trip is scheduled for June 1st. I will let you know later how we did.

For Kabukicho, continuing the thread above.

Here are a couple of hotel recommendations:

There are lots and lots of good hotels in Jaco. Pretty much anything you could desire starting at $20. 00 per night up to around $ 125-150. 00 a night.

Some of my favorites: Inexpensive: Blue Palms Hotel, Clarita's Beach Hotel, Hotel Estrellamar

Moderate: The Los 4 Grandes Hotel - right next to the Beatle Bar, Villa Creole Hotel

More Expensive- Hotel Tangeri, Best Western Hotel

Kabukicho,

You ask "what hotels are good for the action". And I really do not believe that any of the hotels that I know of in Jaco. Have any Chica's actually working on the hotel grounds. Looking for action. You may see them at lots of hotels, but when you do, they have usually be brought by a man. Either coming or going. After the deed is done.

You will need to go to the Beatle Bar, the Monkey Bar, Panchio Villas, or perhaps Nachio Daddys (very late after everything else closed up) to find the ACTION in Jaco.

Or if you speak some Espanol, and like a challenge. Try just hanging out downtown on the strip. And I would suggest get a table at the Colonial Restaurant during the early afternoon. From about Noon to 2-3 PM. Sit there and drink a beer or two, and watch the same working girls (from the Beatle Bar, Monkey Bar, etc.) stroll down the sidewalk.

Many of them (Chicas) live in apartomentos or cabinas. Which are just around the corner from the Colonial towards the beach. About 1 1/2 block away. They will wake up around 10-11AM and will want to get out of their tiny room and will take a walk around town, some shopping or some just looking around, or out for some fresh air. If the weather is HOT - many of them will be in bikinis. And this is a treat, as you get to look them over, and check out the "goods".

When you see one (or two) that you like, then say "Hola" to them as they pass by, if they seem interested and stop, then it's your opportunity to chat them up a bit, invite them for a drink, and go from there. Most of them will be more than happy to accompany you back to your hotel for a "nooner". And I have found that the price is usually less during the daytime, than if you hauled them out of the Beatle Bar at night.

I think you will find that a working girl is usually "always working" even on her 'time off'.

Good luck & Pura Vida.

Just returned from a week of mongering, diving and doing the eco tours. Stayed in Playa Del Coco at the Coco Verde Best Western. Basic rooms, motel type, nice pool in town two short blocks to the beach with AC, single for $41 a night with breakfast. A porch in front of the bar gathered about 8 to 12 chicas a night. Sone 4's to 8's. For the most part they keep themselves in good shape. No Gf experince, just a work out, some times mechanical. Mexico and Columbia do it with some passion. My buddy seemed to have better luck with his takes. Price $70 to $100 US.
Friendly country and a great place to visit (next time I would try Tamerindo for a change.

Someone asked, "Where's The Action In Jaco Beach"?

I just returned from a visit to Playa de Jaco. Been there many times, and actually found a nice 4 bedroom house with a lovely swimming pool for rent in Jaco. Only downside is that I would have to share it (has two separate apartments) with the Tica owner.....and she is rather 'loco' at times.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

You ask "what hotels are good for the action". And I really do not believe that any of the hotels that I know of in Jaco actually have Chica's working on the hotel grounds. You won't have as much makeup on during the day, may also be in a bikini or short shorts (for the warm weather), but you should be able to see several that you saw at the Beatle Bar the night before.

Many of them (Chicas) live in apartomentos or cabinas. Which are just around the corner from the Colonial towards the beach. About 1 1/2 block away. Bring you own to Montezuma. One of my favorite places in CR. Real laid back, caters to many younger people from all over the world. Little european and american college girls sunbathing topless, smoking weed and riding horseback to a waterfall right on the beach.

El sano banana- good natural food restraunt. shows movies every night

It is a nice diversion from San Jose and jaco, only drawback it is a ***** to get to, have to take the ferry over, then drive down some nasty roads.

From reading some of these posts, it appears that Jaco is probably not worth visiting, either for mongering or other fun. Is there anyone who would actually recommend going there? I was thinking of staying for a night or two and basically using it as a base to see other things, like Tortuga Island. Comments/suggestions? Thanks.

Doc Bill. Go and enjoy what you can about Jaco. Its a pit. Be sure to stop at the bridge at the Terrabci (sic) river on the way to see the croc's and stop at the market before you go and pick up some chopped up raw chicken to feed them. I think Puntaranus or Montazuma would be a better spot and cheaper to get a tour to the Tortuga islands.

The Beetle & Monkey bars are worth a visit. All the girls want $100.00. Some small talk and a drink and you can get the price down to $40 or $50. Had a great gal from the Dominican for $45..................BBBJCIM.

Sitting at a bar on the beach late in the afternoon and a couple of girls came over and wanted a go. They were in the 10 MIL range.

There will always be the hardcore who will not budge from Cein. I always let the other guy have at her for that.

Always us Colones, its cheaper.

For a place to stay ck out Best Tropics Condos, Jaco Beach. I meet the guy who owns the place and if I remember correctly he said it was directly across from the beetle bar and a 100 meters from the beach. has a swimming pool and is a gated property. PM me for contact info.

A few of us are flying into San Jose in mid Jan for business. We land on a Sat around noon. Meeting don't start until Tues so we want to go to Jaco for the weekend. A few questions.

- What is the best way to get from Airport to Jaco?? Taxi - bus - etc
- how long of a trip is it and how much should it cost?
- Where is the best place to stay in Jaco that is girl friendly and what should it cost ?
- I saw a post that mentioned "Best Tropics Condos" any feedback on that place.

Any other help/info would be appreciated

Thanks

Sorry, but I can't help you with lodging arrangements in Jaco as the only time I was there went down to see a friend of mine that is a working girl at the Beatle Bar. I stayed at her place.

However, just rent a car for $30/day and drive down to Jaco. It is only a two hour drive, pretty easy to follow a map, and the scenery along the way is both interesting and really pretty. This is much more convenient than taking a bus. I think you can get a taxi to take you for around $50, one way.

Prolijo
12-21-06, 02:03
That rental rate is a little low. You might be able to get a tiny Toyota Yaris for $30/day during the low season. In January expect to pay somewhere more in the high 30's or $45/day if you want to upgrade to a Corolla. Depending on how many of you there are that may not even be big enough. And that doesn't cover any extra insurance, which many people feel more comfortable getting given the high accident rates in CR and the proclivity in some places for rental cars to be broken into (not all credit cards' insurance policies cover rental cars in CR). If you go for that expect to pay another $12-14/day. Then there's gas which costs nearly twice as much in CR. Finally Dbros9 should also know about the extra 12% surcharge that rental companies tack on if you pick you car up at the airport counter but that is easily avoided by taking a shuttle and completeing your paperwork at the nearby rental car lots.

I'm not saying they shouldn't go this route but they should be aware of all the extra costs. And while all those daily costs would be split by however many guys are going they would also have to be multiplied by 4 days. If there is enough of them to split that cost down to a reasonable level and they plan to make use of the rental locally while in Jaco (local cabs are a cheaper alternative for most people) then this still may be a good way to go.

Alternatively to taking either an expensive private taxi or an inconvenient public bus is going with a tourist shuttle van. Grayline (http://www.graylinecostarica.com/graylinetouristbus.html#sanjose) has one for $21 per person that leaves at 2PM. Assuming there is 4 of you and you split a Corolla even ignoring gas or any extra insurance, $45 per day times 4 days still comes out to $45 per guy round trip vs. $42 per guy if they all just took the shuttle. Extra insurance and gas or only 3 guys tip the scale even further against renting.

All the hotels are chica friendly to some degree with the exception of the Best Western. Copacabana Hotel seems to be the most popular for mongers.

Best car rental rate I could get was $38 a day for a Toyota Yaris, with a 3 day minimum rental. And given the state of the roads in Costa Rica, make sure that damage to tires and wheels is included in the base coverage.

Gentlemen,

Quick question, any responses are appreciated. I'll be making my third trip to Costa Rica on feb 1st. I'll be spending the first night in San Jose, or El Pueblo, more likely, where I'll be drunken salsa-ing and meeting scores of beautiful women (I'm optimistic). The next day I will be meeting some friends in either monte verde or santalinda, spend a few days there (never been to either) with some friends who have been living there for a few months. I assume they will have the activities planned.

From there would like to go to another city/beach that I havent been: Samara, Montezuma, Puntarenas? Etc. Don't know. Looking for not alot of tourists, nice beaches/outdoors, nice restaurants, nightlife, women (locals preferable, only pros specifically if not many locals) etc. Also needs to be feasible to return to san jose fairly easily. Any suggestions I will certainly take into consideration and will post report on all cities when I return.

Thanks for your time Guys,

Quick clarifications.

I assume you mean you'll spend the EVENING at El Pueblo in the northern part of San Jose. Its not a town in of itself, just a commercial center with lots of bars, restaurants and shops and there are no hotels there to spend the night.

Monteverde (one word) is in the Santa ELENA area and if you find any local action there be sure to let us know but I'd be very surprised (the area was settled by Quakers). Your only possible chance would be if your friends know someone to fix you up with.

Of the beach towns you mentioned (Samara, Montezuma, Puntarenas). Montezuma would be my personal first choice, followed by Samara and dead last would be Puntarenas, which functions mostly as just a scummy port town that people pass through on their way by ferry to Nicoya. However of those 3 places only Puntarenas would I consider "to be feasible to return to san jose fairly easily" and that fails miserably for "nice beaches". Samara is directly across the Nicoya Peninsula from Monteverde but on very bad roads and for Montezuma your choice is even worse roads or having to catch a ferry across the gulf, either of which greatly adds to your travel time. Your best bet for nightlife, restaurants AND easy return to SJ would be Jaco (also plenty of P4P) but that will also have lots of tourists. Those things sort of go together. Places without a lot of tourists tend to not have much in the way of restaurants and nightlife (or P4P except in the local sailor brothel washed up puta sort of way). And non-pro local women in small communities aren't going to be as easy a nut to crack for one night stands with some gringo breezing through town when everyone they know is around looking.

Good luck.Jaco Beach is one of the worst things about jaco; going there to P4P ain't bad lately, and probably the only beach town that has it, but don't go if you are looking for a beach you'd write home about. Manuel Antonio is a very nice beach, maybe 90 minutes south.

Yes I will be spending thursday night in "el pueblo", as in the bar/restaurant/shop maze. Monteverde, I assume, will be enjoyable, as my friend has been there for quite some time and knows his share of locals as well as international students with whom he's been working.

I have been to Jaco and most of the beaches within a few miles, and to be honest, wasn't my cup of tea. I would settle for even a smaller beach community and focus on the culture and people if I need to. If it is that strenuous I will opt to wait until monday night when I return to San Jose to catch my Tuesday flight. There, one of my favorite bars for non-pro action, El Cuartel de le Boca del Monte (sp?), hosts still, I believe, ladies nights on Mondays. If all else fails it will visiting El Pres, I suppose.

Looks like, based on your feedback folks, I should be choosing between Montezuma and Samara (sp). Any other feedback would be appreciated, otherwise I will do a bit more research and or will let my friend decide based on what he is told by his people in Monteverde. Certainly I will post a report on all cities/towns/bars involved.

Thanks again,

Tom

I have visited Costa Rica many times. Usually, I stay in San Jose at the Hotel Presidente (nice but slightly overpriced).

Because, it's close to San Jose I visited Playa Jaco. I decided instead of renting a car and trying to figure out the route, I took a bus. The price was very reasonable, you can find there routes at interbusonline.com. I have nothing to do with the company.

I stayed a little hotel almost right across the street from the Monkey bar. Make you ask for a room near the rear of the Hotel because of the noise from the bars/street.

Jaco is not a pretty city, but the people where very friendly. There is basically one main street. During the day as I was walking on the side walk. I had several girls smile and start a converstion. At night I went to Beatle bar for a couple of beers. Around 11:00 pm, I noticed a couple of police enter the bar and walk to the rear. I really didn't think much of it at the time. Soon there where a lot of police. Now it seem really strange because there was no one fight. By now there must have been about 50 to 75 police inside with another 15 or 20 at the front. A lot of the girls where starting to panic. It turns out it was an immigration raid. The police where fairly nice to the tourist.

One of the girls from Costa Rica starts to laugh. Next 2 large buses show up and they start checking the papers of the girls and they starting loading the buses. The next day I was talking to the guys of the Hotel that I was staying at. The guys where American surfers from California. One of them got throw in jail, it seems he didn't have proof of his citizenship. Always keep copies of your passport on you.

I spent 3 or 4 days, and had a good time. Jaco was pretty good.

So over the last six days, I've been touring the beaches and I have to admit that I picked some of the best days to go!

I have to reiterate one thing and that is if you plan on renting a car, make sure it is a 4x4 or else you may regret it bigtime. Otherwise, you may be limited in your options of where you are able to go.

Playa Hermosa - Is not a place to monger but is great if you just want to relax and take a day off and recharge.

Playa Tamarindo - I stayed at the Hotel Tropicana and I have to say that it was a great option for being right in the center and noticed that there was some action at the Jazz Casino just 50 meters on your left as you exit the hotel. There was pretty good talent on the night but I had hooked up with a local girl that I bumped into on the beach and while it didn't pan out the way I had hoped, it didn't cost me anything either and still had a great dinner with her while she wouldn't even let me pick up her bill.

I did ask some of the girls what their rates were and they started at $100 but one girl quickly went down to $80 without me countering. Remember that I do speak Spanish but anyone can just smile and act dumb by putting on a sad face and just saying, "oh, I would love to spend some time with you but I only have $50."

Just say, "lo siento, solamente tengo cincuenta dolares" and then put a sad face on. You'd be amazed how often that works for me. Once you have that cleared up, if you haven't already asked your qualifying questions, you need to do that now.

Playa Samara - This place is loaded with foreigners studying Spanish so if you are a little younger, you should be able to have a good time hitting on some cute girls at Las Olas or La Gondola. This is not a quick pick up place so don't expect this place to be easy but I did have a good time making out with a girl since she was sad it was Valentine's day and no one to kiss.

Playa Mal Pais/Montezuma - Again, lots of very hot foreigners but not much luck with the local girls. If you have some game, the foreigners could be very easy with the right approach....remember, on vacation, they have their guard down a little bit more.

Puntarenas - I hit major gold here since they are having their festival right now and there were just amazing hotties everywhere. I had no problem striking up conversations and didn't even need to pay so I would recommend going to any town while it's having a little festival!

Manuel Antonio/Quepos - I think it's been covered that there is pro-talent here but the pickings didn't look good to me. All I saw was street action since I was with someone already and I didn't go to any of the clubs.

Well, that is all I could cover on the beaches but with a good attitude and a smile, Costa Rica is actually better non-pro action then pro-action! All of my best times in Costa Rica have been with non-pros besides a couple of special situations. If you want to try your hand at non-pro action, Costa Rica isn't a bad place to check out.

I have to add my voice to the others that aren´t crazy about Jaco. It was the only place, including San Jose and Rio, where I really didn´t feel safe. Lot´s of drugs and hustle on the street. I went into the Beatle Bar twice and found most of the girls ugly to fair, and again, too much noise and hustle. I didn´t even bother to partake.

I stayed at Clarita´s in Jaco and would highly recommend it. It´s 70 per night and right on the beach, with good food and a lively bar.

I loved Montezuma. Arenal was ok, the volcano awesome!

Had anyone been to Papagayo? Is there any action or any info about the area? Thank-you?

I just get back from Papagayo and I can tell you there are no action. Travel to Coco beach doesn't see anything there either. There is one casino that I saw but did not go in!

I find it hard to believe there is no monger action, The putas of Liberia come each evening down to coco to take care of the tourists etc. Maybe this site does not have any activity to report. I was there in April of 2006 and saw plenty of putas to keep me entertained.

I visited many times, but not for 3 years. It was always very safe. Has it changed? I always stayed at Pochote Grande, on the North side.

I have lived in Costa Rica for going on 2 years and just thought I would share a little of what I have found out especially from the Jaco Area.

First I will start by saying Jaco is a small surf town with its own charm. It stays Crowded year round with surfers and Sport fisherman alike coming from Herradura a small town about 3 miles before you get to Jaco. The night life varies on what you are looking for but has something for everyone from Disco's, Bars, restaurants shopping and even Strip clubs. As far as safety in Jaco, its has problems like anywhere the biggest being petty theft so never leave anything unattended. Also just use a little common sense stay out of the gulch, its better to travel in pairs and be alert when walking around at night.

The Beatle Bar- Its the most popular monger hang out. It stays busy most of the week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday being the most crowded. Tica's, Nica's, Dominicans, Columbians and Panamanians travel in from all parts of the country on Thursday and stay thru Sunday. The Exception being Holidays where like most venues in Costa Rica it’s very slow for the most part. The Price most quote is cien ($100) for 1 hour, 90% will take considerably less. Depending on the time, the night, and what you’re looking for. I have taken women home for as low as $40 and paid as much as $80 for a Ten, and $75 for a todo noche (all night) I am not sure about the motel policies pertaining to tica charges as I have never taken one to a motel but I can tell you that there is a motel adjoining the Beatle bar that charges $20 for an hour or $40 for the entire night. It usually gets fairly crowded a little after 9 and stays that way until about midnight. With the exception of Tuesday night when its ladies night at one of the local bar where they have free drinks.

Monkey Bar- its a Disco with loud music and cheaper drinks than the monkey bar, The weekends are very crowded with surfers and kids on vacation partying. The girls roll in there between 11 and 12 and get more crowded as the night continues. I believe it closes at 4 am, The same prices apply to the chica’s its all a matter of taste and what your looking for.

Jungle sports Bar- along the same lines as monkey bar but not as popular.

Depufulo’s- is a strip club just outside of Jaco, I have only visited there one time and reminded me of the strip clubs in the states. Lap dances $10 and private dances $20. You can get anything you like for more money and I think they have rooms on site.

I hope this helps and If anyone is in the area and would like to get together and have a drink and monger a bit please leave me a message here.

Just to follow up on Sponge Bobs Jaco report, Nacho Daddies is the third stop in the “Jaco Shuffle” for the working girls. Nacho’s gets happening at 3am.

I found the girls are a little less business like when they’re at Monkey Bar & Nacho Daddies. By then they had a few drinks in them and maybe even scored a trick with a little money in their pocket. At this point I offer $40-60.

One more tip. Its hot as hell in Jaco, and a lot of the waitresses and bartenders from all the hotels, restaurants & bars will head to Monkey Bar & Nachos after there shift gets off. The choice between going home to their hot apartment with no AC or going out partying with free spending gringos is a no brainier. This is good hunting for non & semi pro’s.

There’s also a place in the next town of Playa Hermosa called Backyard Bar. I believe Wednesday is ladies night and the place is hoping. This place is pretty cool because it’s right on the beach. Probably a $3 cab ride from Jaco and worth the trip. Ask a local for more details on this one.

Have any of you guys come across this girl? She is a Nica and absolutely wonderful both in bed and personality. She is much cuter than this picture would indicate and lots of fun, and will pretty much do anything sexually. Last I heard she either works the Beatle Bar or some place called Pancho Villa's? Is that correct? I am not sure.

She worked in Managua under the name Marta Neli but I am not sure what name she uses in Jaco. Would love to hear if any of you guys have come across her. She is so sweet and fun and incredible in bed.

TGAM Nog,

I am returning to CR later this year. Do you want to send me on another "mission from Nog?"

It worked out pretty well for you last time, didn't it?

As long as you handle the financing, I'll search all the clubs and MPs around Costa Rica to take one for the team...

I just wanted to thank Tredmont Teddy for following up my post. He is Dead with the details. I was wrong with the ladies night being tues, it is Thursday at the backyard. Its is a very nice place and of coarse with all the chica's slamming down free drinks it makes it alot easier to negociate a price less than the norm.

He was also correct in saying it easy to find locals to party with as long you gringos are supporting the tab, and sometime you my pick up a GFE for as long as you like just partiing with them. Please be forewarned though, sometime it not easy to get rid of them once they attach themselves, for they will try to milk you dry in more ways than one, pun intended!

Look fwd to meeting a few people from here so we can grab a drink and perhaps find a wingman.

Jaco is a total departure from San Jose. It’s a smallish, tranquil beach town that caters to a crowd of surfers, hippies, and other adrift characters. It’s tropical with beautiful ocean scenery, but boasts lousy, brown rocky beaches. It could easily be confused with any number of towns in and around the Caribbean basin given its look and feel. The vibe is pleasant save the small but notable element of delinquency.

There is not much to the place other than surfing, fishing, and some lame jungle tours (much better options all around can be had in Quepos/Manuel Antonio up the road a click). Judging from the number of times I was offered, you can also pass your time snorting coke or smoking pot. The hooker scene in Jaco is massive and omnipresent.

The nightlife consists of a several clubs that aren’t especially great, but not especially bad, either. Monkey Bar, Jungle etc. It’s lively at times, but the crowds get mighty thin at a relatively early hour. I was surprised by the sheer quantity of women “on duty” at Jaco’s most (in)famous nightspot - the Beatle Bar. (It’s named after the world’s most famous rock group I’d say given all the wall hangings paying tribute to John, Paul, George and Ringo.) Beatle Bar has to be the best place to go for mongering outside of San Jose and I would say it deserves much more attention than it gets as a mongering spot.

Beatle Bar caters to a younger, hipper crowd than San Jose’s Del Rey. It’s more laid back and generally has a good vibe. I went on a Wednesday and there were probably 60 pros and 40 guys. I went again on Friday and there were about 100 pros. Despite the sheer quantity, there were relatively few real stunners. The women weren’t ugly, just not really that hot. Given that a man generally only needs to find one for a good night, this was not a problem as there were perhaps half a dozen real cuties. Though prices seem like they should more flexible here than in San Jose, the standard quote again was $100 for an hour – for the good looking ones, I didn’t ask the second stringers. I really don’t know how that pricing point got started in Costa Rica but it seems a lot of girls live by it and would prefer to go home empty handed than accept a nickel less.

All in all, I think Jaco deserves to be mentioned up there with the top Colombian and Dominican mongering locations, though the relatively high cost and inferior service provided by the jaded pros one finds throughout Costa Rica can be a drag.

I'm thinking of heading to Colombia.

Dude she is a hottie

What did she cost?

Did you find her in the Beatle Bar.

Where did you stay?

If your thinking about Colombia I would suggest Cartagena, I have travelled alot in Colombia, and for the first trip Cartagena is the best.

Also stay in the tourist area, it is safe and LDV is always a good choice for chasing young hot colombians

I stayed at the Copacabana which was right on the beach adjacent to the Beatle bar. I went in the off season (august) which was perfect. The girls were all asking around $100 which could be bartered.

The pic is of 2 Colombianas I found at beatle bar in front of some Mexican restaurant

Cartagena is safe? But you can't do much traveling around?

I am tempted to go back to Costa Rica, safe, much to do...

What about Argentina?

This may be a contrarian report to most reports here, but I like Jaco beach. From many of the previous reports it sounded like it was a terrible beach with drug pushers, beggars, and thiefs. But my experience the last 3 days has been mostly positive. The beach isnt real beautiful, but its functional; the water is warm, nice sand and a comfortable place to hang out, there seems to be lots of surfers here every day.

As far as the scene in downtown Jaco goes, I've only had 1 guy ask me if I wanted to buy drugs. Its mostly a place with a lot of stores, restaurants, bars and nite clubs. I don't feel unsafe here at all. The local punks seem minor irritants to me compared to other places in Latin and South America.

Been staying at Clarita's hotel right on the beach. Kind of a funky place with a lively restaurant bar that seems to draw all sorts of different kinds of people. The hotel is kind of primitive (no phones in the rooms, we must pay in cash only), but it seems like a crash pad to me for people hanging out on the beach or Jaco itself.

Now to the mongering. I've only been to the Monkey bar and the Beatle bar. Both times we got there at around 9-9:30pm. The Monkey had litterly nobody in there, but the Beatle bar was really jumping both nites. There were at least 100 chicas there. The variety is unbelievable. Blonds, brunettes, red heads etc. Ticas, nicas, latinas, Panamaians, Columbianas, Dominicans etc. all these chicas are REAL sexy in short skimpy outfits, some with tits sticking out, with a lot of leg showing and sexy high heels.

These women are real aggressive and some are a real pain to get rid of. They will come right over and get in your face and really become a nuisance. They just won't leave until you get real nasty with them and tell them to butt out. They may also walk right up and grab your dick and stick their pussy in your crotch, its a trip.

Theres a real social pecking order here. The good-looking gals seem to know it and start off by asking for $100 and not budging from the price. The girls less good looking start at $80 and will go down to $50. Also a racial divide too. The whiter the girl, the higher the price, all the way down to the negras who will take much less dinero.

Anyway I ended up with a tica-latina older gal last nite who only asked for $50. She stayed for over an hour and didnt make a big deal about money. She was a willing sex partner and a nice personality. She gave me her phone, I may call her back tonite.

There seems to be other hot spots here in Jaco but I probably won't get around to them this time around. All in all I like the atmosphere here, its seems to be an easy-going kind of funky place to hang and do your thing. Ciao for now.

I must say that I concur with Bat Boy's report on Jaco.

Yea, there are certainly better beaches in Costa Rica, and possibly better places to monger, better restaurants elsewhere, nicer better hotels....but all in all Jaco has a lot going for it. It's sort of an all-in-one type of place that is pretty damn good for the overall beach experience.....kind of like a funky, south-of-the-border Daytona Beach type of place.

Jaco is easy to get to, and abounds in lots of things to do in the general area....like mongering, sport fishing, surfing, rafting, tree forays in the jungle, 4 wheeling, horseback riding, shopping, good eats, and just a good overall place to hang out and watch the young, pretty, women of Central America stroll by......

In my comparison of Jaco to Daytona....about the only things missing in Jaco are the races, the Harleys, and the bust-your-balls cops who are literally swarming all over South Florida.

Is there a bar or club in Jaco called Pancho Villa's? I have heard there are quite a few working girls there. Can anyone tell us more about this place?

Stevewxly
09-16-07, 20:32
Pancho Villa's is on the main road in Jaco right around the Mas y Menos supermarket....within a block or so- if memory serves.

It has a pretty nice restaurant on the first floor, and then on the second floor is the club. This club is mainly an after hours type of place that gets going probably after 11PM - Midnight....late hours.

Many girls, P4P gals and occasionally some non-pro's or tourist types too can be found there after the Beatle Bar, Monkey Bar, and other places have wound down for the night.

You can pickup P4P girls from PV's....late at night, but be parpared to get sloppy seconds or thirds at 2 AM. Maybe your gal will not have scored a date earlier....so you may get 1st's. - if you are lucky.

Another place that stays open very late is down the street...and it's called Nacho Daddy's. Many gals also go in there....at late hours....as I believe it is open to around 2-3AM.

I do not frequent either of these two places.....as for me....an oldtimer- I try to be in bed - hopefully with a nice Chica....by 10-11 PM.

These after hours places tend to be mainly for a younger crowd....the ones who have the stamina to 'party hardy' - all night long.

Hope this info helps..........

It looks like they charge $10 to bring a girl back to your room.

Are there any hotels in Jaco that do not charge a chica fee?

Here is the place to start.

Five days ago, me or my buddy did not get charged for our chicas. They just had to give them their ID card.
Maybe it has something to do with making your reservation online with your credit card. We paid online, but did not get charged for any extras.

If you walk in, you must pay with cash. No credit cards will be excepted.

Also, if there any fisherman on this forum, I would love a some advice on choosing a charter. Offshore or inshore is ok. I would like to keep it around 600 bucks plus tip for the boat.

There are a a few options on motels, living here I have never stayed in one but I thought I would throw my 2 cents and contribute to the forum.

The Closest being the "Hotel Los Grandes" " adjoined to the beatle bar, I have heard it was OK. Not the Marriot but habitable. Rooms have Ac and cable. I believe it runs $40 maybe more in high season when your visiting. This motel is also on the hourly basis ($20)

Then there is the "Hotel Tangeri" which is walking distance and very nice from the outside and all rooms have AC I am told. I am not sure of the price or if it is chica friendly or not.

Another posibilty is "Clarita's" walking distance to the Beatle as well, or a $2 cab ride if that. These are only I few to start off.

One more you may look into is the "Hotel Poseidon" Ac, Cable, DVD, Mini Bar, Safe, Wireless Internet, Bar and Resteraunt. I know this because I go there weekly to watch Nfl Games. Again not sure if its Chica Friendly or not.

Concerning the Sports Fishing, Its high season then and the amount you want to pay is about the norm for half day. Here is a link you may want to check for rates and availibilty. If you have no luck, I have a 29ft panga maybe we can work something out.

My experience is that the boats out of Los Suenos, during peak season, are some of the most expensive in all of the world. I am used to paying Cabo San Lucas prices, where $600 could get you a full day on a 30-31 foot cruiser (or you could get it for a LOT less if you are willing to attend a timeshare pitch). Compare that to Jaco/Los Suenos prices, in season, for the same boat, would be more like $1000-1100. I can pay that here in San Diego.

I have also found that boats out of Quepos are cheaper than Los Suenos - typically $750-900 for a boat like that for a full day. I had a very good experience with these guys:

www.queposfishing.com

They have boats in both Quepos and Los Suenos, and the Los Suenos boats are typically a couple hundred more for the day.

Funny Story, I was filling up with gas coming back from a day trip to San Jose at a gas station about 5 km past the Tarcoles river bridge (Crocodile bridge- the place where tourist and tico's alike stop to look at the Crocodiles) just pass Steve and Lisa's resteraunt going towards Jaco. I notice a few nice chica's across the road walking up towards what I thought was a house as it had no signs only a gate with orange color paint and an orange roof. The attendant notice my stare and told me it was a bar that you could have a lady of your chosing for $35 a half hour or $50 for an hour or what ever you could negociate, and they also had rooms on sight. I then proceed across the road to have a look, indeed it was true, Its a meduim size place with a bar and few tables and I notice a few rooms in the back. It was early in the afternoon and there were 7 girls on a scale from 5-8 but it was early. I talked to the bartender and he said it was mostly a Tico hangout. I was approuched several times but declined due to being tired and sweaty from my trip.

I will let you know more as I find out more. Or does anyone else know about this place?

Nothing new to report, visited the Beatle Bar Wednesday night, it was very crowded for a Wednesday, also went to the "Backyard" it was ladies night about 11pm and it was dead so headed back to the BB. Probadly 2 chicas per male there so the odds were in our favor so it was easy to negociate a lower price.

My friend and I took two Colombians to the motel next door for an hour, Set each of us back $80 (each) including rooms. Service was good and the room was actually very clean and nice. It had AC, king size bed with fresh sheets what else do you need, I was pleased. I would recommend it to anyone.

Sorry nothing more to report. I am still looking into the place from my previous post. Maybe a interesting alternative to the norm.

I do not know of any others in Jaco sorry, i think Dpulfo's is the only choice. They opened or are getting ready to open a new place within a block of the Beatle Bar called Secret Society i don't know exactly what it is but the word around here is that its going to offer Wet t-shirt contest and oil wrestling, but that is only rumor.
The high season has just kicked in here and to say the least the girls are out in full force. News faces almost every night in BB, Monkey and Nacho daddy's and around Jaco in general.

Thanks for the 411,

The LeoryLacoryLeroy,

The Highseason or Dry Season is in full swing here. Which means more tourist and Mongerers, which means more chicas. as in my previous post, i see new faces in the bar's and around Jaco in General most everyday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday being the busiest. This last weekend Visited the BB and by the time a left around 11pm, it was wall to wall people and some of the girls dancing on the bar. So the action is good.

As for clothing, i live in the Jaco area. The Tempatures is usually in the 80's to low 90's throughout the day and may drop to the low 70's in the evening and very humid. Shorts, t-shirts and the occassional dress shirt fit most occassions .San Jose is a different story, its much cooler there. Usually 70's daytime and has dropped down lately to the upper 50's in the evening. so if you are spending any time in San Jose , you may require a pants, and a thin Jacket. Hope this helps.

Leroy,

The Highseason or Dry Season is in full swing here. Which means more tourist and Mongerers, which means more chicas. as in my previous post, i see new faces in the bar's and around Jaco in General most everyday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday being the busiest. This last weekend Visited the BB and by the time a left around 11pm, it was wall to wall people and some of the girls dancing on the bar. So the action is good.

Any special action at this club in back rooms, private rooms or is the BB and MB better?I spent 7 days in Jaco two weeks ago and most of the good looking girls were in the Beatle Bar. There as at least 2 women to every guy so you can be picky on the type of girl that you go with.

On monday Tuesday and Wednesday you can negotiate lower prices quite easily $60 - $70. Don't just give them the $100 that some of them ask for as they will be back the next night to try again.

The polica have been in there a couple of time while I was there looking for women with out proper papers and a passport. So the number of women goes up and down as some leave " involuntarily "and new ones come in on the bus.

Had one from Nicaragua with the name of Rachel " black hair" one night and she was a handful. I'm thinking of coming back for a week before Christmas to check the action out again. So if you run into here let me know.

As for Divas I found it kind of dead and over priced. I had way more fun at the Beatle Bar and Pancho Villa's. As its way cheaper to buy them a drink at the beatle bar and most of the girls used rooms in the small hotel that is next door.

Was in Jaco 6 mos ago and returing soon. Stayed at the Cocal hotel. Stumbled out of the room at 6 am one morning. Walked to the corner heard music took a right and found this bar/something with a bunch of locals. Bought a girl a beer. A hefty black woman comes to me sez you want her?

I said sure and she even added in another local girl just for fun. They stayed till noon.

I tried to find the place the next day and was not sure exactly what place it was. There was a place set off the street with a pool table etc. Was this place Pancho Villi's?

I was reading through the lodging, dining and drinking options in the latest Lonely Planet travel guide and came across this hilarious quote regarding Beatle Bar:

"If Beatle Bar were a piece of candy, it'd have a crunchy outer shell of Latina prostitutes and a creamy white filling of old, dirty men."

Although I imagine the quote was intended to be judgmental the irony is it was much more of a selling point for me.

Roadside *****house 10 miles from Jaco. Bar El Piragua is across the street from a gas station near Steve and Lisa's No. 2 (Orange gate and roof). There were about 6 chicas working there all Dominicanas. I was the only tourist (American) in there. The guys were blue collar, rough_edged type guys, but I felt safe in there.

Anna came over and I bought a beer, then she asked me to buy her one so I did. She had a real sweet personality, with a good sense of humor and a great smile. She asked for $40, but I got her down to $30 for a half hour (the locals probably pay less). So we went to a scrufty room in the back with no light (it was late afternoon) so I could see a little. She slipped on a condum and I knew I was finished. I just can't get off with those things on, but she sucked and sucked as best she could. I finally told her to give me a massage for a while. Then we tried with lotion and no condum but it was no use. I couldnt get hard or off.

Anyway, it was fun talking to her and I had a good time. The place has a bar and some rooms in the back for sex. Nothing great, except cheap sex compared to the Beatle Bar. (This is the place Sponge Bud had noticed a while back in one of his reports.) bayboy

After 5 days in Jaco (2nd time around), my feelings on the sexo scene are best summed up by a chica I talked to in the Beatle Bar. She doesn't go to the Colonial bar, no_name bar, Tabacon, Nacho Daddys, Pancho Villa, or walk the streets of Jaco. She only goes to the Beatle Bar.

Thats the only sure thing here. You know there will be action there every night. The rest of those places are hit or miss, sometimes_maybe spots. The Beatle Bar was jammed w|chicas on Thurs., Fri. and Sat, not so much on Sun and Monday.

There is street action here. I was approached several times by chicas, none of them turned me on, but some I think were transvestites, not sure. By the way they're walking around day and night.

I like the town though, its still a fun beach setting, with enough activities to keep me stimulated and some good eateries too.

This is just my feelings, you locals may disagree. Take care

Crazy Horse is Open. I visited the Crazy horse on Thursday evening and here is my take on it. My friends and I got there abut 10pm and it was empty. There were maybe 3 locals there and maybe 5 girls. We sat down by the stage where we were each ask for 5, 000 colones ($10) with that we received 3 tickets to use for beer or 2 if you were drinking mixed drinks. It has been renovated since it was D'pulufo's and before that Hollywood. There was a VIP section I noticed with couches and curtains that none of the party checked out this evening. With in minutes of arriving we each had a girl on our lap at first talking and then asking us to buy them drinks. Ranging in cost from 4, 000 colones to 6, 000 colones. I am guessing there were more girls in the back room so I’m thinking maybe there were 10 chica's total due to the fact there was 6 in my group and we all had chica's. They were ranging on a scale of 1 to 10. Most were between 5 and 7 but there were a couple 9's.

The girls dancing on stage seemed less than enthusiastic during their 2 song rotation. First song clothed and by the end of the second song there were completely naked. The only good part of the dancing was a lesbian show at 1am that to say the least was very arousing which in turn was followed by a Pussy show some 30 minutes later in which all the girls came out and were showing the gentlemen the commodities for 2. 000 colones.

I ask the one girl whom I was talking to if there was any action in the back and she said yes but it was very expensive. She then offered me her phone number and told me we could meet later that night or the following day and all it would cost me was a bottle of tequila and some smoke because she liked me. Uh huh I’m sure.

Anyways to rap it up, from what I saw it was a typical strip club, nothing out of the ordinary but it was a pleasant experience. I will try to find more out about pricing on my next visit.

Was in Jaco Beach a couple of weeks ago, short visit Monday to Wednesday. Only really got to see town Tuesday. Most places where pretty dead.

Secret Society is closed, big for rent signs everywhere.

The Junglebar was busy, but seemed to be chica free. Lots of local girls dancing reggaton, and some gringas.

Monkey bar and Nacho Daddy was deserted.

Saw no street walkers, large police presence made me feel safe at all times, even walking pretty deserted streets. Weed was good allthough very expensive.

Beatle Bar was of course crowded, and probably has a weekday discount, offered 30.000 colones and it was accepted straight away. Should have tried out for 20 :P

There is also this nightclub... somewhat near the mas y menos, don't remember name. I got free entry, but believe there is like a 5000 cc. It had some chicas (mostly not so great looking ones), 10.000 for a private dance, afterwhich the girl offers the full package for $100. Would not recommend it.

I met a chica at the Bohio Bar and Grill and she turned me on to Bar Recreo. Its down a dirt walkway just past Pachis Pan on Pastor Diaz.

A nice, large Tico bar with a dance floor. They do Karaoke there. Anyway, it looks like a few chicas are working out of the bar. I talked with a dark-haired older latina and she agreed to go back to the Hotel Cocal (in back) with me. She asked for C20,000.

Anyway the bottom line was that it was a so-so covered BJ. She did a lot of tongue action but no finesse.

The beers are real cheap at the bar C700. No English is spoken and the crowd (mostly men) is fairly civil.

El Bohio Bar and Grill -- at the end of Calle Bohio, on the beach. I was there a couple of late afternoons and there were various chicas hanging around. It looked like they were just chilling out after a long night. I was approached twice, one for massage and sexo, the other just for sexo. The prices were too high for my taste.

I plan on being in the Jaco area for a few days and then want to visit Monteverde area afterwards. I can't seem to find any information for viable transportation. Aside from car rental, what would you recommend for transportation between Jaco and Monteverde?

Also, what is the best way to get from the airport in San Jose to Jaco?

Thanks

I think renting a car is by far the best way to get there as i have been in excess of 10 times. I have also taken cabs down there (40-50$). There are also nice buses for 15-20$.

Try Interbus or Gray Line. Its van or mini bus type service. You can go cheap and take the regular Tico bus service.

I think renting a car is by far the best way to get there as i have been in excess of 10 times. I have also taken cabs down there (40-50$). There are also nice buses for 15-20$.The cost of renting a car is not only the cost of renting a car for the drive down to Jaco. Are you going to simply return car once you get there? If so, then you'll probaby pay for the full day anyway, plus any insurance, plus gas, PLUS a fee for returning it to a different location from where you rented it. So that will probably cost much more than taking the bus or shuttle or even hiring a taxi. If you plan to keep the car for a few days and even use it to get to Monteverde and back to SJ. Then it would be a whole different equation. You won't have the extra drop-off charge but you will have the cost of the rental for all the days that you keep it. That very well may be worth it to you for all the other intangible benefits of having your own wheels throughout your stay, but I wouldn't do it just to save on bus fare from SJO to Jaco. Figure probably a minimum of $35/day for a compact SUV plus any added expenses for insurance and gas, not just for the days you travel between destinations, but also for every day the car is sitting around while you are at each of those places (e.g. just 2 rentals days down to Jaco and staying there will be well over the cost of a cab).

Nice buses for $15-20? I'm not sure which buses he's talking about. The air conditioned Interbus or Grayline tourist shuttle vans that go from SJ to Jaco cost $25. That is significantly more than $15-20. The still reasonably comfortable but hardly fancy public buses (e.g. no a/c) used to cost only $2.50. They may have gone up but I doubt they've gone up by 600-800%.

I'm assuming that the buses will be at the airport for pickup direct to Jaco. What about Jaco to Monteverde? That is not exactly a correct assumption.

I don't know if its due to some sort of special regulation or something but Interbus does NOT pickup directly from the airport. You have to go to someplace nearby (called Rio Segundo) to use them. They do have special shuttles that can take you there from the airport (or to downtown SJ) but you pay extra for that. I heard somewhere that it's not so far that it is not impossible to walk to, but I'm not sure about that. And I don't know whether Grayline picks up at the airport either but suspect that they may be subject to the same restrictions.

Public buses are a similar story. The buses themselves originate in SJ, where it is easiest to catch a ride. They do pass by the airport on their way to Jaco and usually stop briefly somewhere out on the street on the other side of the parking garage, but you'll need to know when and be there waiting as they won't wait around.

As for the buses from "Jaco to Monteverde", what about them? Obviously you don't catch those directly at the airport. If you use the tourist shuttle vans they'll give you door to door service from your hotel in Jaco to your hotel in Monteverde. If you use the public buses, you'll need to find and go to the local bus stop, which depending on where you're staying may necessitate taking a local cab from your hotel.
Try Interbus or Gray Line. Its van or mini bus type service. You can go cheap and take the regular Tico bus service. Its unclear from what he wrote, but I suspect that Sam was talking mainly about getting to Jaco from SJ rather than from Jaco to Monteverde (if he's been to Monteverde 10 times then that might be some sort of record). What Bayboy just wrote could apply to either leg of your trip, however it still requires further clarification.

One big advantage of either a rental car or hired driver over either the tourist shuttle vans or the public buses is that you can go where and whenever you want to. Those other modes of transport operate on schedule. Graylines shuttles leave SJ for Jaco at 7:30AM and 4PM. Interbus leaves from Rio Segundo at 8:45A and 3PM. (the trip itself takes 2-2.5hrs). How does that mesh with your planned arrival time? From Jaco to Monteverde, the departure times probably aren't so critical, after all it will be a lot easier finding something to do while you wait in Jaco then when you're standing around with all your luggage in front of the airport. Grayline doesn't cover the Jaco>Monteverde route but Interbus's shuttle leave for there from Jaco at 10AM and 3:30PM taking 3-3.5hrs and costing $39.

Finally, the Tico bus service may be cheap but it is not so regular unless you're heading into or out of SJ. To get to Monteverde from Jaco by public bus, you'll have to take a bus somewhere else and change buses. There are no DIRECT buses. Your best bet would probably be to take the noon bus to Puntarenas, which takes an hour and a half, and then take their 2:15PM bus to Monteverde that would get there around 5:15PM. Both fares combined should be less than $10. Basically, ignoring about which departure time is best for you, we're talking about whether it is worth spending $30 more to save 2 hours travel time and not have to deal with bus stations. That is your call. BTW, schedules and fares can change (in fact I have 2 different times for that Jaco>Puntarenas bus) so have you hotel check into that for you when you get down there.

ThanksIf you rented a car in San Jose, it's a confusing drive to Jaco, Take a bus, it's much easier. I used the Interbus, to get from San Jose to Jaco. It was fairly cheap and reliable. The cost is $25.00 each way. And they dropped me off right at my hotel in Jaco.

At the San Jose airport, I took a taxi to the Denny's, which is near the entrance to the airport. There was a small store next to the Denny's and that is where the van picks you up.

The board has been kinda quiet lately so I thought I would post on my recent night out with some friends.

We started the night out with a stop in Crazy Horse Gentlemans club right outside of Jaco. As Posted before its a typical strip club. 2, 000 colones ($4) entry fee at the door, Then once seated the waiter gave us the spill of the whole place. Sitting by the stage there is a 5, 000 colones drink minium ($10) which is either 2 mixed drinks or 3 beers. Then he went on trying to sell us everything else which I found strange coming from a waiter but also quite informative. 6, 000 colones ($12) to buy a girl a drink and have her sit with you for 3 songs. 10, 000 colones ($20) for 3 song lapdance in private room. Then he hit us with the boom, 17, 000 colones ($35) for a room in the back for 1/2 hour. Plus what ever you and the chica work out for a price, he said usually $100. We all started laughing. As we all live in the area and know better. The Girls were ok, nothing special, mostly dominican, with the except of a few tica's and one beautiful Nica. To make a long story short we drank the minimum and headed out.

Next stop, Beatle Bar. Very crowded standing room only, probably 3 girls to every guy. We browsed the room for awhile and got lucky and found a table to sit. Mostly drinking we entertained a few tica's while doing so, same old story there, whats your name, where you from, do you want a massage etc etc. After a while a couple buddies had found an interesting pair of colombians girls. When ask the price, We were all in shock. They wanted $160 for 1 1/2 hours. Again a round of laughter hit the table. We could not believe it. Needless to say we all left alone that night. After speaking to a few girls in the bar that night, I notice that most (90%) would not budge from cien ($100). This is concerning because I know better. I understand gas, food and general cost of living have gone up but not the p4p experience. I attribute most of this to the high season ending and alot if not most of the cliental coming from the Herradura bay area (you know where I'm talking about) paying the asking price and not trying in the least to bargain a better price. I am hoping with the low season here now that things will change but I am not getting my hopes up! I know this was a little long winded but its just my two cents. I hope it is helpful and informative.

Getting chicas into Los Suenos is a NO NO. Maybe if you are staying in the private condos, but in the Marriott they are not allowed. Go to beatle bar, and search around. We're getting a house in Los Suenos not the Mariott. We would like to know if there are other house (7-8) bedrooms that are all inclusive in the area. We don't ever over pay for chicas. I'm a vet of TJ, Brazil, Argentina, Thailand, Amsterdam, CZRep, etc. And don't overpay.

Is Playa Del Coco any good for nightlife and mongering? I would imagine Jaco is 10x better.

You are going in the off season, so I would assume you will be able to pretty much call your price. The Colombians are by far the hottest, but they also know it and try to hold price. They also tend to be "all business".

The only other thing to warn you about is the Trannies. Saw quite a few on my last trip. I have walked the streets [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) drunk at 5am and NEVER felt unsafe....but on my last trip heard several reports of the trannies grabbing drunk gringos asking for sex and stole money out of thier pockets. Keep your eyes open for this.

Monkey Bar is down the street. Also pretty fun spot. For local action there is a Disco in the center of town. May be able to pull so non pros out of there. Met a girl once who was with her boyfriend. Took him home and came back out to meet me.

Friday August 22, I arrive at SJO airport, rent a car and driving toward Jaco where I have an off-season room for the night. I have personal business to attend Friday afternoon and Saturday (meeting with real estate agents, etc.) and then driving back to SJO late Saturday to stay at the Courtyard hotel in Escazu.
If anyone is going to be in Jaco August 22, send me a PM (forum members only - no solicitors or locals trying to "set me up").
I have browsed the recent Jaco posts and my general impressions are that I might get lucky (meaning, I also might NOT) -- my definition of "lucky" is probably like most of yours: decent-looking girl (7-8), decent attitude and friendliness/fun factor, at a decent price. I'm not sure that I'm going to find it, though, based on reports.
The good thing about this forum (for me, anyway) is in the area of expectation-setting.
Before reading recent Jaco posts, I was starting to imagine all the fun and trouble I'd get myself into while I'm there, and now I'm much more realistic about it. I'm anticipating "business-only" transaction-oriented girls and fairly high prices. Since I'm going to Thailand and Philippines in November, and since I've already started saving money for that trip, I will be sure *not* to over-spend in Jaco, or SJO on Saturday night for that matter.
Thanks, guys.

One thing I would say is, if you're going to be in Jaco ONE night - I wouldn't make a huge deal over whether I paid $60 or $100 for a shag, or $100 or $200 for a full nighter. The place in Jaco where the hotter chicas hang is the Beatle Bar right on the main drag. And they are ALL working, it's not a matter of getting lucky, it's a matter of agreeing on the price.

What I WOULD do, is be willing to eventually give in on the prices (but only to the reasonable levels described above) but negotiate HARD on the services and the time spent by the chica. Let her know that she's going to get a good payday, but ONLY if she really puts out in the service department.

My attitude on price would surely be different if I was going to be there for a while.

As for your stay in San Jose - you're in the wrong place if you want to bring company back to your room. I don't believe that the Courtyard in Escazu is friendly, and it's surely not well located for finding action late at night. If I had just one night in San Jose, I would certainly be staying somewhere Downtown in the Gringo Gulch, like Sportsman's Lodge, Morazon, or the Presidente. Or even at ground zero, the Del Rey. One other thought is, if you really want a night of total debauchery, stay at Zona Blue and pick 3 or 4 chicas from the premises.

If you stay out in Escazu, your only shot at getting shagged would be if you had time to travel to one of the Downtown MPs like Oasis, New Fantasy, Zona Blue, or Idem.

2041, thanks for the insights and suggestions.

I will certainly visit the Beatle Bar (I've seen it before, but didn't have opportunity to patronize it).
My definition of "luck" has not so much to do with *whether or not* I find someone, but everything to do with whether or not the experience is a good one, i.e., a good VALUE. I think you and especially other senior members know that negotiating the deal has very little to do with luck. How you feel about it the next day has a lot to do with luck. I've gotten girls who seemed like hands-down guaranteed good-time choices, only to be really disappointed by the reality of their service and bedside (in-bed) manner. And I've gotten girls that my gut feeling said stay away from, and then they turned out to be stellar and alzheimers-proof. And I've had girls that I had almost no feeling about one way or the other (late night/no time to waste), and some of those turned out to be gems, some were quite forgettable.

I've been to the Courtyard many times in the past and have brought back "visitors" without any problem. Even at the full-service Marriott. However, Los Suenos Marriott is a totally different story -- I had my significant other with me there, so it never even became a question. But I knew just from being there that it was not 'girl-friendly' -- not even in the least.

Now, having said all that, there are two things other forum readers might want to keep in mind: (1) I am a Marriott Platinum member, and the front desk (and other staff) tend to look the other way. (2) Girls I bring back to those hotels are fairly well-dressed and act/behave very nicely, saving their slutty side for behind-closed-doors. :-)

I might, though, have to think about your reference to Zona Blue and the MPs. I've never been to ZB or any of the MPs. However, I've been to Del Ray numerous times and gotten all-nighters (which then stayed with me either at Ctyard, the Marriott or at the White House). So that's my plan again, but I might now check out Zona Blue and do more research on it since you mentioned it.

And you are correct: out in the area where Ctyard hotel is, there is nada/zero. Funny thing - there's a Hooters right across the parking lot, in that shopping center, and there are a couple of night clubs/bars there, but I've tried "shopping" in both places, several times, and came up quite empty in all cases. If you're a kind of "Matthew McConaughey" guy who can just walk in and pick up chicks anywhere, then you'll do fine at the Escazu Hooters or anywhere else. For the rest of us, our fellow Member 2041 is correct: go shopping downtown. :-)

What is the average price monthly to rent flat a one bedroom in Jaco close to the beach ?

Any agencies ?

Lukasek,

The price varies on the accommodations. It ranges anywhere from $300 to $2000 a month. Let me know a little more of what your looking for and I'll be glad to help as I live very close to Jaco.

First night in the famed Beatle Bar. Kinda like Orchard Road in Singapore or any of "those" bars in BKK ... you go in, have a drink, or not, you get approached, or you approach, take your pick. I like it, by the way, in case some of you are trying to discern my tone.
Being a "nice guy" my only problem is finding nice ways to tell an approaching girl that I'm really not interested. That's what is nice about being with another guy or group of guys because you always have that "out". When you're solo and you reject the girl, it's clear she's being rejected. Knowing all too well how that feels (what average American guy doesn't?), I hate doing it to them. But on with the report.
A Dominican girl, about an overall 8 (strong 8 though) approaches with a couple of her friends (says one of them is her sister). We chat a little bit, I buy her a Red Bull, we chat more, she starts rubbing my legs, shoulders, etc., turns around and rubs her really nice blue-jeans encased ass on me; notices Mr. Happy's response and grabs him right through the material in my shorts, then gleefully calls attention to it to her associates, who all raise their eyebrows, big smiles across the board and colloquial bursts of espanol that I don't quite understand. No matter.
So yeah, my will power and original resolve to not make any quick decisions is kinda toast by now.
But back at the room, she's transformed (the way they do) into a much less affectionate, much less excited performer, in the business sense. I never get over how they can be completely good actors during the "sale" but then when it's time to provide service, it's clearly something they want to be over sooner than later. I think the first part is probably fun for them, to a degree, and the second part is work, and their disposition changes accordingly.
And you can't ever KNOW that, going into the deal. Right? Unless you have found some formula of prediction that works. (do tell) It's one of those things in life that, no matter how many times you do it, experience never really instructs or makes the next experience more successful. And that's because humans are involved, and not only is it DNA, it's women we're talking about, after all.
So, given the lateness of the hour, my age, previous alcohol consumption, and now more importantly, her distant unattached stares at the wall, I just can't finish. There's no worse turn-off for me than being with a girl who is just going through the motions and every utterance and every facial expression says (literally or figuratively), "why you no finish? c'mon baby, finish, finish". That pretty much makes it impossible for me at that point, regardless of how she looks.
At that stage I'm internally going from positive thoughts about the girl (from original vibes) to more negative things like, "Are you just stupid, after all? I know you're not doing 'this' because you enjoy it - it's business and it's economic necessity. But at least be smart about it and you could make some serious money." And, "At least you're with a really nice fairly attractive and in-shape guy, taking really good care of you, in a nice hotel ... etc." The negative thoughts add to the overall turn-off factor, like a date that you know isn't going to end well, and you're just trying to figure out how to end it.
Side-note: she had a boob job, probably like 99% of girls I saw in the Beatle Bar, at least, those who had money enough to afford even the low-market jobs. And this was one of those low-market jobs. She must have been sensitive there because she really didn't want me touching/feeling (so what's the point of having them, other than "marketing" ... again, back to the "sales" event). But they felt very hard, and by that I mean almost rock-like, and very lumpy for lack of a better word.
So that $100 was a waste, and I took her back to the Beatle Bar around midnight. I was very glad I chose short time. In case I didn't say it, no, I didn't finish, even though like all other guys, I want to (that's the point, right?!). But I finish on my terms, not hers. I finish literally, just explaining I'm not into it, feeling rushed and it just isn't happening for me. She looks at me with that look (you guys have seen it) - partly not understanding my English, partly "what's wrong with YOU?" So I get cleaned up - she spends only about 35 seconds in the shower (good to know for whomever might have gotten her next), and I take her back to the bar. It's about 5 km and I don't want a taxi coming up there and of course I am not sending her off on her own. I always do the 'right' thing, regardless of the experience.
Night #2 report coming up.

MrVee
08-25-08, 17:28
Night 1 was a Friday night, so this report is for Saturday. I mention it for those who might be trying to discern subtle differences in experience based on weekend vs. week nights.

I decided to spend 3-4 hours in a local place, La Cantina, where "real" girls show up. It's at one end of the main drag, nearest Best Western, and near the divided 4-lane boulevard that takes you back toward Los Suenos. I was the first there, around 7 PM, to have dinner and get in good with the staff so that by the time local girls started showing up, I'd appear to be a known quantity.

But in total I got no interaction there. Maybe it was because I was 'gringo' or maybe because of the language barrier? But in addition to that, or because of all that, I got virtually the same reception there (in terms of eye contact, etc.) that I would get at any bar or restaurant in the States. But I was enjoying talking to bartenders and waitstaff. Even went back to my hotel and brought back to them my two latest copies of Playboy, which they totally appreciated. That PB subscription was one of those $12 for a year promos, and I always spend 3-5 minutes paging through them, then give them away.

I left La Cantina around 11 PM and thought just to go to hotel and call it a night. Would have been the best decision. But you know how 'the little head' likes to argue with the big one, and somehow has a way of convincing that the thing to do is continue the hunt.

So I make a U-turn, head back toward the main drag, pass La Cantina and 100 meters ahead am waved to the side of the road by Jaco police. The guy speaks fairly decent English; asks me if I've been drinking - I say No, of course. Asks me what I'm doing in Jaco, and what brings me out this late. I told him I really just came down for the weekend to meet with ReMax agents (which I did) and that right now I just came from the hotel and was looking for something quick to eat - maybe Subway was probably still open. He asks where I'm staying, and I told him Pacifico (the one high up on a hill) and I show him their business card, plus my US drivers license and rental car information. He asks for my passport, and I don't have it, explaining it's in the hotel and I could get it. He asks me when I'm leaving [next day] and says it's a 13,000 Colognes fine for not having the passport or a stamped copy thereof. He explains I would pay it at the rental car agency when I turn the car back in [San Jose]. For some reason, though, while we were talking, he decides only to give me a warning, and off I go. He was actually quite nice. I thanked him and said I'd probably be passing back by shortly.

At this point my 'big head' is now reinforcing the argument to call it a night. Little head is stubborn, though. I stop at Subway and see some hot girls standing around outside. So I go in and order a sandwich, then something possesses me and I order 3. I go outside and try to chat up the girls - they're slightly amused but don't show any interest. They were taking a break from the upstairs dance club (I forgot its name already). The stairway has a sign that says "Exclusivo" but don't let that fool you - just pay the 1000 C (about $1.80?) and you're in.

The girls aren't interested in the sandwiches, either, so I head back to the hotel. Traffic stop - different cop - I told him I'd already been stopped on the other side - the other guy sees me and comes over to greet me. We chat for a second - I decide to offer them the sandwiches and they politely accept. Off I go.

Big head is saying for the third time, "I told ya so! Now, let's go get some sleep." Little head wins again - I make "the loop" so I don't get stopped by the police yet again (no sense tempting fate). I go upstairs above the Subway into the dance club. Looks like any other - overwhelmingly loud music and not even a type I enjoy listening to, plus a bunch of local guys lining the walls and bars, watching girls dance with each other to avoid having to deal with any of the guys. I don't stay more than 3 minutes, but they stamp my hand on the way out.

I wandered over to the Casino - the one near the beach - I go in there and it's pretty empty, actually. I notice there's a few girls who all look like they could be taken, but I'm really not interested in any of them or having to "engage".

Finally, back to the Beatle Bar, it's around 1 AM and little head finally wins: just quit wasting all this time and go get a girl ! What's great about being out of the US is that when all the "regular" girls ignore you and you feel dejected or rejected, an hour or two later you can be banging some girl who is just as hot (and usually hotter) as any of the "regular" ones you would have liked to have met earlier. You can walk into a place where you are the one suddenly who has to choose between lots of admirers, not the other way around.

Beatle Bar closes at 2 AM, so the place is mostly empty, but there's probably 20-30 girls still there, some 5s and 6s, but still several 7s and maybe an 8 or two. Hard to tell. The place is purposefully dark - even after your eyes adjust you have to be within 2-3 feet of a girl to know what she looks like. At that proximity she almost reserves the right to reach out and grab your arm to "reel you in".

I walk quickly around, trying to check out girls without letting them know I'm checking them out - I act like I'm looking for a friend (well, in a manner of speaking, I am!). I finally meet another trio of girls, and pick the one I surmise is most "interested" in me but she's kind of shy ... I think she's the hottest of the three, and she knows it, but she doesn't want to appear aggressive...she wants her sister (?) and her other friend to at least have a fighting chance, but in the end, the guy will decide, right? And of course I picked her, and she seems happy. Short time, $100, BJ w/ no condom is the primary negotiation. I'm thinking that time of night I should get a better deal, but little head and big head are in agreement about one thing: It's late, I have to wake up in the a.m., just get it over with! I make sure with the "leader" of the trio, the one whose English is best, that my chosen partner is very good at BBBJ, and of course she assures me that she is. She speaks in Spanish to her sister, and the chosen girl is nodding in agreement and then looks at me affirmingly with a nice smile, "no problem, no problem!"

I decide to take the circuitous route back to the hotel, wanting to avoid the traffic stop. They moved the stop! I get waved over again - same guys notice it's me (they don't ask about the girl - thank goodness - I'm sure they know the deal). Original guy comes over and tells me Thanks for the sandwiches, they were really good. We chat for a moment, then I'm off again.

Back at the hotel, and I'll cut this short, I do get the BJ w/ no condom (even though surprisingly I have to remind her of the terms), and she's "ok" in that department, but I'd grade her maybe a "C". Exact same boob-job story as the girl from the night before. I speculate, "maybe they all go to the same doctor in the Dom. Rep." She seems at least to be getting into it, which I'm happy about, and she wants to fuck. I ask her if she's sure, that it's really not what I'm expecting, and she really seems to want it, so I comply, being the gentleman, and on goes the condom.

But - and here's what killed it for me - in addition to wearing a desensitizing condom, and being late (tired) and having had an evening of alcohol (even w/ lots of water in-between): personal feminine hygiene. Not sure I need to say more. Once I was 'in there' ... well, put it this way: a strong, raunchy odor is an ultimate turn-off for me. And I'm thinking, "Ok, I know these girls are living in $15 per night cabinas, sharing it with 2-3 other girls, and sending money back home to their families & sons/daughters, but at $100 short-time, can't they at least afford to stay thoroughly clean and sanitary?!"

So, that's it for me ... I can't even pretend anymore, even though she seems to be genuinely enjoying it at this point ... I just can't. And after all, if I'm not going to finish, and I'm even the one who paid, why should you get to finish? Sorry. I just can't do it. At this age in life (actually at any age!), my nose decides more instantly and sanely than my "big head" ever does and "little head" also agrees, and in fact, immediately starts to go down in size. She thought I came and is looking curiously, expectantly at the condom tip for the "leche". So I explain to her I'm just too tired, and that the condom just kills it for me, and she seems genuinely disappointed that I didn't come. But I go to shower, paying extra special attention to "that" entire area -- any surface that might possibly have come into contact with any of hers.

She spends maybe a minute or less in the shower (like night #1's predecessor) and gets dressed, lingers in the room and tells me how much she liked the place, me, the music, the candles, everything. But it's 2:20 AM and all I can think of are things like: I am going to be SO tired tomorrow. I hope I don't oversleep and wind up missing my flight from SJO. I wonder how long the memory of this "smell" is going to last. I should have saved my money for my trip to SE Asia in November. What is it with 2nd and 3rd world girls and personal hygiene? Hasn't "the word" gotten around? Or are there guys who really don't mind that, or even kinda like it??

Good luck, guys. Be safe.

Hi MrVee,

I want to thank you for your report about Jaco, first of all, cause I had really the feeling to be there, you write very good, second cause you have a good sense of humour :)

I agree with you, useless the doctor did a good job for the eyes, but the hands cannot touch the titts, very sad when the smell of her strawberry is not the one you are waiting for and the most sad, when she is only waiting you to cum.

It seems that it is not that easy to get GFE in Jaco or, in your opinion, it is just a matter of lucky ?

I am curious too, would you spend a couple of weeks in Jaco as place to have a holiday of sun, beach life and good sex or not ?

Your opinion about Jaco is actually positive or negative ?

Thanks man :)

My overall feeling of Jaco is a good one. People are nice, including the couple of policia that I encountered. The food is good, and mostly very reasonably priced. Grilled red snapper meal on the beach one night was about $10. A real estate agent and I had 2 seafood meals and 4 glasses of good wine, and including tip, was $40. Beaches, activities, accomodations (variety & pricing) are all good. Just a few kilometers drive toward Quepos you can find undisturbed wonderful beaches with hardly anyone there (be careful of the rip currents if you swim alone, though!).

I think YMMV, as with the girls. Some people love Jaco, some don't, and while I'm not in love with Jaco, I could easily and happily stay there for a week or two.

I am sure you (even me) can have GFE there. It is all a matter of luck, I think. In the short time with a girl in a bar, you just cannot know what you would like to know. You cannot tell the future and predict the outcome. You cannot ask (unless you are fluent in espanol) all the questions I would like to ask. Even if I was fluent, I would be unable to ask things like, "Is your p*ssy very, very clean and smell and taste nice?" Even if I could, chances are the girl would still simply respond, "Si! Si! Delicioso!" Because she is still hoping to "get the sale" and "make the deal". And this is not a business transaction that is "money back guarantee".

So, for me personally, I love the idea that girls are easily available there, but my success ratio there is zero for two (0%). Perhaps if I was there longer and tried out more girls, my ratio would improve. But at what cost? I think if I was back in Jaco, I would go there convinced that I would not try to get a girl. But I also know "little head" would argue once again, and win, and I would get someone. However, the next time I would insist that the girl only do BBBJ to completion, and might even negotiate it being done in the car ... in other words, drive to some nice overlook where you can see the ocean, the stars, hear the surf, roll down the windows for fresh breezes, and let her go down on me, however long it takes. That would avoid all the disappointment with potential bad hygiene, sensitive fake breasts, etc. But at the same time, I would get an experience that you just can't get in the States.

It get me a bit stressed to ask everytime if she likes my milk or not or if she is into anal, cause many will answer no, but it is true that if they answer yes, the chance to get GFE are much much higher.

My little head is the same as yours, at least for the first week of my holiday, later I get more wisdom and usually it is when I have more chance to get GFE.

However for 2 nights, I agree it is hard to get real fun. But I think stay there about one month can increase a lot the chances.

Good that the prices of food are so cheap.

Bloody idiot gringo GFE with prostitutes don't exist.

Galitob,
As a discussion forum, each member will have individual and unique experiences. Then based on their expectations, background and range of emotions, a member will form opinions and feelings about what he has seen, felt and learned. Then he relates that experience to the rest of us as best he can.
As the rest of us read his story, we each will have individual and unique feelings and reactions.
As a code of courtesy to other members, and to encourage continued contributions (rather than discourage), try to comment on the story itself, not the person who wrote it. That includes avoiding the use of labels or names when addressing the other member. I know, sometimes it's hard because there are "all types" out there. For example, rather than attacking you with labels that come to mind for *your* reply to Lukasek, I choose instead to take the high road. (I have a feeling you're going to critique me as well, but that will only serve to prove my points.)

Side-note: I apologize to other members who are in this Jaco sub-forum hoping to get hobby-relevant information and are reading this instead.

Myself and many other forum members have had plenty of GFEs with service providers - just browse the forum long enough and you'll find those reports. It sounds like you never have, but don't give up - they are out there! Most of us have learned that in order to get a GFE you also must, in a sense, be a BFE to them. Kindness, respect, courtesy, generosity, etc. Granted, that will not always result in a GFE, but it's hard for me to imagine getting a GFE without demonstrating at least some of those qualities, to some degree.

In fact, and this apparently has happened not only to me, I have had situations where the girl really does fall "in like" with me and then I feel bad because I can't be in a relationship with her (i.e., spouse would not approve, and most certainly would find out eventually!).

Anyway, I hope this hasn't sounded harsh - - did not intend for it to be.

The legend of this road is about ten years old now. I heard about it when I first started going to Jaco in 2002. Construction has started and stopped on it dozens of times. With the boom in construction in the Jaco area and all the American companies(Wyndham, Ramada, etc) building there, construction is back under way however from what i've heard it's still 2 years from being completed. Hope this helps.

FYI, I was considering buying property near Jaco about 3 years ago. The road was supposedly 2 years from completion even then. Some things never change - and I'm glad I didn't buy the place I was looking at - an upscale Dutch development about 4 miles up the road from Jaco.

I've always had good luck at Beatle Bar, leading me to think I was a good judge of talent there or that all the girls were good.

WRONG. A couple beers, pick out a girl after talking to half a dozen, make it very clear I can't have sex without kissing. Back at the room, a little bit of kissing, then: What, you no want sexo? Gave her some money and drove her back. A couple beers, pick out another, but bad vibes walking to the car. A couple beers, pick out a Dominicana, good English, hot body, understands the rules, but just so-so sex (plus fake boobs, which I didn't suspect (beers)).

So I bring her back. Have a beer, make a plan for next night (too old for more than once a night).

Driving back to my hotel (almost a whole mile) the police stop me about 100 yards north of beatle bar and do a breath test. 06 so I think I'm good, but they say the max in CR is. 049 and start doing paperwork. They start by saying its 20K ($40) plus there's a 40% tax on tickets for "los ninyos" but as we bullshit about that's almost as much as a chica and I don't have to drive very far, they lower it to 10K (a pretty cheap DUI except I didn't feel very Influenced). While they were doing the paperwork they tried to stop another car, which drove right by, and they just shrugged.

Next night I went with a sure thing Panamanian I knew from previous years and all was well.

I gave Hertz the money for the ticket (they looked at it and said: I was really lucky, sometimes we have to come and un-impound the car and it takes days)

Advice if you are driving: make a mental note if there are police north of beetle bar. 049 isn't hard to get to, especially on a bad night. If you're stopped, be cool, it might help. But it might work to drive past as well, they didn't seem set up to track someone down.

I'm planning to rent an apartment for couple of weeks I Jaco Beach. Can anyone tell we the security facts for bring a chica back to a rental apartment. Are these condos patroled by security people that only let apartment guest in?

We are planning to use Vistamar in Jaco.

We are three guys from sweden who will arrive around 2nd of dec. Please pm us if you want to grab a beer with us at beatle bar.

I don't know about what security they have at the Vistamar, however I would view any security they might have as a real plus rather than a potential problem.

Any security they might have will not prevent you from bringing back any guests you want as long as they come in with you or you tell the guard to let them in if they come to you while you're at home and he buzzes you. The only negative would be that they WON'T have to be signed in or surrender their cedula at the gate, OTOH, unlike some hotels, you won't have any chica guest fee either.

If you're really lucky, you'll have a conscientious guard who will really look out for you, although I wouldn't count on that at all. More likely you'll be lucky to get one who doesn't sleep on duty or even tip off the crooks which place to break into. When I was staying at an apartment in SJ, one time I brought back a chica from the BM. Shortly after I got her up to my room, I got a call from the guy at the front gate to discreetly warn me that he recognized that chica and to watch out because she was known to have sticky fingers (tendency to steal things that weren't nailed down). After that, I still had a pretty decent session with her but you can be sure I was extra careful to keep my eyes out never turning my back on her while she was there.

Sup guys--how far is playa Hermosa from Jaco Beach. The reason I ask is because their is an awesome flight/hotel combo from chicago for under 5oo dollars! For 5 nights--anyway the hotel is called Cabinas las Arenas which is in Playa Hermosa. Checked out the photo of the hotel--very basic--which describes me-single young guy use to hostels, bareback lodgings. Anyway is much of a hassle (taxis) to travel to Beatle bar from play Hermosa? I have to weigh the pros and cons for everything. Is there a map on the ISG? Of Jaco Beach, play Hermosa and Beatle bar? Thanks for any valuable info guys.

Says on the website taxis are available. The website has a map, or orts. There are plenty of other maps on 'the internets.'

Hi Gents,

I've posted this in another forum, so forgive the duplicity.

Getting ready for my first Jaco trip and trying to finalize my accommodations. Does any have info on Villas Estrellamar? They have the villa I like but haven't read anything about being chica friendly. I certainly don't want any problems!

Also, is this hotel close to the clubs?

How are these situations typically addressed? Do I need to tip someone beforehand? Do I bring it up when I make the reservations? Please advise.

Any info here is most appreciated.

How is it affecting chica rates? Tourism must have dropped. What about the girls? I can imagine it has slowed down considerably, so I'm just wondering what I can expect in Jaco. We leave next week.

Thoughts?

Yes Estellamar is chica friendly... I'm almost sure there is no charge for guests. I forget the owners name but he is a really nice guy and he's a huge UT fan. I believe he played football for them(Tennessee by the way). Just don't bring up Phil Fullmer or he might throw you out. lol

Was in Jaco 2 years ago (heading back in Jan)- stayed at the Cocal Hotel - was parting with a real waco i picked up at beatle bar - about 6 am she had to leave so i walked her outside to get a cab - to my surprise there was still allot of activity going on.( it as also light out at this point) i see this guy walking back to the hotel with a chica and asked him what was still open -he said go to the main st. take a right and there is a bar open on the right. sure enough a block or 2 down there was a place set back a little from the road that had a dj - and several women around - found a fairly decent one went back to Cocal and spent most of the day there with her.
Anybody know the name of this place and is it still open???

Thanks...

I took the bus from the Coca Cola station to Jaco for an overnight trip while visiting CR for nine days. The bus is like a regular Trailways bus and only about $4 each way. It's a really nice way to see the mountains in Costa Rica for a really low price. The trip itself takes about 3 hours with a 15 minute bathroom/snack break along the way.

While San Jose was very spring like weather wise; Jaco was hot and very humid. Despite the economy several high-rises are still under construction. Jaco pretty much looks like any beach town you've ever visited. I checked into a motel that’s almost across the street from the Beatle Bar. I wished I remembered the name since I would recommend avoiding it. It certainly has seen better days. The swimming pool in particular looked scummy. The mattresses in the room may well be the worst I've ever tried to sleep on in my life.

I didn't actually ever go on the beach itself but it was very wide and looked pretty nice. The town itself is basically one main road with several intersecting streets. As long as you are on the main drag it seemed okay safety wise. Of course no trip to Jaco is complete without a visit to the Beatle Bar. All in all a pretty nice bar. I was the first customer at six when they opened and soon joined by other patrons and ladies who frequent the place. When I left around 8:30 there were many more ladies than customers in the place. Despite the ratio of customers to ladies cein seems to be the word of the day at the Beatle Bar with little room for negotiation. Looks wise the talent was generally good with a few 8's in the mix.

I was approached by a slightly chubby lady on the street after leaving the bar. I negotiated a bbbj/cim for 10,000 colones (about $20). I took her to my room and to my surprise she got naked for the bj. Though slightly chubby she had a pretty decent body. She was really skilled at getting junior to full staff. At some point I slipped on a cover and did her doggie style. I gave her an extra 5,000 colones for the extra service. I almost never do street walkers, especially in a strange town, but this worked out just fine.

I headed back to San Jose the next morning. Jaco was an interesting side trip and I had some fun. But other than the chubby girl the ride through the mountains was the best part of the trip.

A good place to stay in Jaco is Hotel Copacabana. The rooms are just ok but the staff is great, it's on the beach, chica friendly and has very good food.

I was there on 12/12 through 12/14. The first night of my stay they had 5 working girls come by the hotel bar. All were attractive and well dressed.

Beatle Bar is still the main place to meet the ladies. Don't go there too early as my friend and I went there about 6:30 and it was dead. We went back to our hotel to eat and when we returned around 8: oo pm it was packed. I would say there were a 100 ladies and about 20 guys. Most of the girls were fairly to pretty attractive and they had a nice amount of real lookers. I saw some outfits that were really nice looking and I would definitely describe the place as a target-rich environment when I was there.

Word of advise to newbies (of which I consider myself one). In general, pass on the one's that aggressively approach you. The lady I picked was dressed classy and acted the same. I asked her back to my table and had her for 3 hours the first night and 5 hours the next night. A true GFE.

Good luck and good hunting.

Thanks allot...2 years ago I stayed at Clarita's for 4 nights. Basic but clean and the AC works well. My neighbors were 3 Nica's so I had some inexpensive daytime BJ's. The bar is open air, right on the beach with good food (for a beach bar). Nice waitresses too. I then moved to Los Suenos for 3 nights. Expensive but chica friendly too. Had a better time at Clarita's!

Rates went up with the cost of petro. Try the bus at the cocacola factory. Just watch your back at the station. The buses aren't that bad and cheap. I suggest you purchase your ticket beforehand or you might have a multi hour wait.

You have three options. Greyline, Interbus or public bus. The public buses depart each hour from the Coca Cola Station in San Jose for $5 O/W. No problem, just watch your stuff. Greyline and Interbus leave for Jaco at 8AM and 3:30pm for $25. Any hotel can arrange.

Will be going to Jaco beach for the first time on my upcoming trip to Costa Rica in June. The hotels mentioned in this forum seem to all be over $100 per night. Any info on lower priced hotels would be appreciated. Would like to spend the additional money having fun with the girls.

Have heard and read mostly bad things about Jaco. High priced girls, high crime, etc. We were headed North up the coast from Golfito and since Dominical wasn't very appealing, decided to backtrack to San Isidro for a night. Met a Gringo there who owns a restaurant in Jaco. He's lived there over five years. Told him we were probably going to bypass Jaco. He said it was all bullshit from a few mongers who come from San Jose for a day or two and hang out at Beatle Bar. He said crime is limited to petty theft and there is lots of cheap pussy available. Just hang out in the park next to Bettle Bar.

Found a real nice hotel across from the park and Beatle Bar called Roblemar ($40 double). At the front of the hotel is the Cafe del Mar open from 6 am to midnight. A covered outdoor patio gives clear observation of the park and Beatle Bar.

Beatle Bar has a 2,000c cover charge begining at 7 pm. Beer is 2,000c. We went in at 6:45 to avoid the cover. We were the only customers and about 10 girls. We lingered over one beer until 8 pm at which time there were about 20 girls and no other customers. This was a Monday night. As expected, all the girls wanted $100. We didn't even try negotiating as we had other plans based on the restauranteur's tip.

Established our headquarters Cafe del Mar, drank 800c Imperials, and watched the procession of working girls unfold. Never saw a single guy go into the bar. The girls came and went all evening. We stopped quite a few and chatted. Bot several ladies drinks ( 800c Imperials). And negotiated full service short time for 20,000c.

Mongers,

Going on day 3 here is Jaco.

Found an adult only hotel on internet; Copacabana http://www.copacabanahotel.com. $100 us including tax. There is actually a sign right as you walk in; Adults only allowed beyond this point. Decent place 5 minute walk from Beatle bar. They change 9, 000 ($15) colonies for each girl you bring back. But it’s worth it to me, as they take down their ID. Had a strange incident on check-in. My fault, I did not take my credit car back after checking in (although I just finished flying 3 hours and drove a rental car 2 hours on CR roads). So in the morning I ask for my card back and they do not have it. Strange. So I cancel it (pain), then 4 hours later the tell me they have it! Since it's cancelled it can not get un-cancelled. Did I say pain!

I arrived late in Jaco Monday (11:00), so after checking into hotel, I was at beetle bar straight away. Real nice Chilean girl sat next to me within 5 minutes, so did not waste any time. She asked for $300 a night. After I got up from the floor because I fell off my bar stool laughing, we got her down to $100 for 2 hours. Face was 8, Boobs were big, but just a little too fake, little bit of junk in the trunk, but she wore it well. We got to hotel and I suggested we jump into the pool. Nobody was there, so we were naked wearing towels and walked to pool. Security guard saw us and I was waiting for response, but he kept walking. In we went. Just some heavy petting and kissing. No open mouse kiss was offered. I still had some Lavetra in my system from 2 nights earlier, so I was ready to get to work.

She showered, I did a quick rise and naked and in bed we were. I’m kind of sick, this way, but my first move was eating that Chilean pussy. We were both getting into, I tried to gently stick a finger in her ass, but in perfect English she said "You can’t do that". Guess she has had to say that quite a bit. Now my turn. I roll onto my back, she gets two condoms, sucks the first on onto my dick and again in perfect English "I’m going to stick two fingers up your ass" and she rolls the condom over two fingers. "Wow, wait a minute. Let’s just try one finger first".. Anyway great blow job for a good 8 minutes. We fucked missionary, doggie, sideways, but she would not get on top? I felt like she had 2 orgasms and she said she did (but you never really know). Just as I’m getting ready to nut, she says she wants to watch me come all over her tits. So she gets up, shuffles through my shaving kit and finds some lotion. Off with the condom and ooooohhhhh.

We rested and I asked her how much to spend the night. She asked for another hundred. We settled on $50, and she wanted to leave at 6. I was surprised that the morning sex was outstanding. Great blowjob again and fucked just as hard as the evening. I find this rare.

Second night back to Beatle bar, found a beautiful Dominican. 8.5 face, 8 natural D boobs and 7.5 rest of body. Her first price was $75 for 2 hours. I hear the Dominicans are a little cheaper. OK, CBJ, tight pussy, but I was so tired from surfing all day, that I could not fuck long. 2 positions and I tried to get her on top but she resisted. Finally got her on top and she did not know what to do. What’s with these girls, two in two nights that do not know cow girl. So I struggle with her to get her to lean forward, then I just power fuck her from the bottom. She was digging it. I think she came, Then I pushed her off, and jerked off all over while she played with my balls. Gave her 2, 000 colonies for taxi and fell asleep.

Anyone know how to rent a dirty massage girl to come to hotel of house here? I’m here 3 more nights, then on night in SJO.

Careful Jaco guys it's a shithole a friend of mine who lives there told me It's not what it used to be, muggings, assaults, robberies.
Since Colombian influence the place is dangerous, a few years ago they assassinated a guy in the disco La central inside the washroom at night with people inside.
On June 2009 an israeli tourist was assassinated by criminals with a shotgun blast to the chest, in this case they used 2 prostitutes as decoys

Prostitutes at Jaco are nasty, aggressive and expensive.
Avoid Jaco if you can or just be careful if traveling that area.

Mongers,

The next 3 nights were even more of a blast. We got all our girls from the Beetle bar. It seems that on Thursday night they herd there from San Jose, because the place was packed with over 100 girls. Most of the girls there were Tica's. Very friendly and good service. Second most common was Columbian then some Dominicans. We had two incident of theft (phone and camera) in the group and both were with Colombian girls and both times there were two girls and one monger. The camera theft was from a girl named Nathalie or something similar. Big boobs and big light (not blond) curly hair. She acted really wild all the time. The phone theft was from two tall Columbian girls with smallish boobs. They looked similar, but said they were not related. One had light hair, the other dark. Out of the group over 20 women were rented, so I guess two incidents is not that bad? Both customers were rookies. There are too many stories to write about the weekend, but one evening included a 9 hooker orgy. That evening I took my 3rd and 4th girls (greedy? ) at the same time for $40 apiece after they had a customer. They competitively screwed me until I had nothing left. One of my greatest evening ever!

I don't think Jaco is a dump, or overly dangerous from our experience, but I guess it depends on what you compare it to. You always need to be careful, especially if you take two girls. None of us were into drugs that weekend.

I found that with most girls, you could get 2 hours for $75, but they would mostly start at $150-200. Never paid over $100. There were 3-4 girls there that were 'knock your socks and underwear off' gorgeous, that I could not get any lower than $200. They did not get my money. If you want them for the night, I recommend making the deal after the 2 hours and just offer another $75-100 depending on how late it is.

I have owned a place in Costa Rica for about 5 years. As an avid hobbiest, I am happy to share a few of my personal observations about the local scene.

Beatle Bar: Most of the girls are from Dominica, Columbia, Nicaragua, and on the weekends a lot of Costa Ricans (Ticas) will come in for extra cash. Most are single moms (no viable child support exists in Latin America).

Most will ask for $300/night (todas noche), and can be negotiated to $150-$200/night depending upon how close to closing time it is. But you'll only get 2 pops (1 in the PM and 1 in the AM) and they'll expect breakfast. All will ask for an extra Propina (tip) AND cab fare. Best to make sure your deal is negotiated "all in" up front. If you want to go for the hourly, you can negotiate $50-$100, but you'll probably get the rush session.

BBBJ is rare, have to ask up front. DFK also rare. If you contract for an hour, many girls will try to leave after 1 pop, regardless of whether or not time is up.

You can take girls back to the condos at Los Suenos, note the security staff will keep their IDs and ask them to sign in. (A common ritual, be not alarmed.) The Mariott is not as girl-friendly.

Be aware of the street girls hanging out just north of the Beatle Bar offering BJ for $10-$50. That's the cross dresser hangout. You will also see them in Punteranas at the highway intersection hitching rides to Jaco. (Note the Adam's apple).

Alternative: A lot of local girls are willing to see you on the "side" for substantially less money. You can arrange for a van load of girls to audition for you and your crew, starting at $80-$100/day, for a up to a week. They will be your companions, GFEs, (novia). A little sweetness, get to know you time, a few small gifts and you can have a true GFE for the week. A $20-$50/day tip is good at the end of the week, plus cover their transportation. Most will come from their home towns via the bus, or maybe a private van.

Most have other jobs so arrangements must be made in advance. You'll need a local contact ahead of time to assist, the transportation guys are a good place to start.

They girls will be with you as long as you want, and plan to tip them according to their performances. If you don't like them, ask your concierge guy to replace them.

Here's a tip from a local Gringo. Some CR cops are running a DUI scam. They'll set up a traffic stop between the bars in town (e. G. Jaco) and the condos that cater to Gringos.

They rig the breath-a-lyzer to read high, so you blow over the legal limit (.08). Then they'll explain you have two options: Spend the night in jail and pay $50 to a judge tomorrow, or pay an on-site fine of $100 (cash).

I was stopped, and kindly explained to the officer I would be happy to blow, right after he did. Thus proving the machine was calibrated.

He blew (0.00), then I did (0.00), and he smiled and waved adios. (I had a few drinks earlier, but the machine didn't pick them up.)

I'm heading to CR in two weeks to explore/ check cheap real estate possibilities and of course check out the companion ladies.

I plan to stay at the presidente two or three night then head to Jaco for entertainment and look at properties.

Questions,

Where is a good place to stay close to the available women?

What is the going price?

Is the beatle bar the best place to play?

Should I bring some kinds of gifts with me to enhance the fun?

Oaky, I'll stop! I've to to CR several times but, always brought a GF. NOT this time! LOL!

Appreciate any inf including real estae that's not ripping off the gringo!

Thanks,

Ok, here's how it works. Many of the van drivers can make these arrangments for you. Chances are, if you are going to CR, you will need to arrange for a van to drive you from SJO to either Jaco, Herradura, Quepos, or where-ever.

Most of these drivers know girls (friends, relatives, associates) that will work "extra" jobs to make serious spending $. Call them a few weeks ahead of time and tell them what you want. (The real saavy drivers speak English).

Tell them you want fun girls, not those that work at the bars, but local girls who aren't too shy, love to party, and speak English if needed. Be as descriptive as possible. BTW if you want, ask for girls w/no kids. Harder to find, but sometimes are worth it!

In my place (sleeps 6-8), we ask Jose to bring us a van full and we audition them and split the girls up based on personality. Best rate is about $100/day plus tip.

Last phone # I had for Jose was +011-(506)8354-0152. If that doesn't work, try a googlesearch "Driver Costa Rica". Guys who have their own personal web sites will hook you up, cause they are after the big Gringo Propina (tip). Tell your driver the better the girls, the better his tip.

YOU MUST CALL IN ADVANCE, so they have time to set things up. Most of the girls they know have other jobs. Secretaries, librarians, dressmakers etc. They need to arrange for time off.

Note: There is a small town in the hills west of SJO called Grecia. Lots of beautiful Ticas live there, I have sampled dozens from the town. They speak No English, but if you speak Spanish and enjoy a great selection, have your driver check into that town too. Sweet! BTW the factory in Grecia that makes clothes laid off a bunch of its workforce. Mostly young girls just out of High School, so many are looking for ways to supplement their income.

FYI-
For your information.....
Where to stay in Jaco Beach:

Maybe not the very best place to stay in Jaco Beach....but certainly inexpensive, and very close to the action.......aka being The World Famous Beatle Bar......the very epicenter of action in Jaco.

Los Four Grandes Hotel....aka The Beatle Bar Hotel...
.........right next door to the Beatle Bar.....chica friendly ( I have never had a problem or question about having as many girls brought up to the room- threesomes OK .....differng girls at different times.....all OK ), and last time I stayed there...the discount price for a big king sized suite with a king bed in the main room, and then another double bed in another small room (all together in the same suite)....was about $ 35.00 a night. You can bunk up with a buddy and you can share the price.....two separate sleeping quarters in the same suite.
Regular price for these rooms is about $ 60.00 a night...but this is Low Season....and they will rent for 1/2 price (usually) this time of year.

(( On my last trip there in Oct. 2008......I met a buddy who was sort of cheap......... to get and pay for his own hotel room at this hotel........he lived way down the road somewhere else......so I would let him take girls up to my room at the Los Four Grandes Hotel - while I mongered down at the Beatle Bar.....and he would in turn buy me drinks at the Beatle Bar for the night......good deal for him....as I only drank Coka Colas...so he got off real cheap. )) But my point is that this a great setup for two guys.....who are getting girls from the Beatle Bar......no taxis, no traveling back to your other hotel.....way down the road......no problems.....clean and quick !

I think this hotel also has a website too.....so you could make reservations....but this time of year....you perhaps won't need to reserve....they should have vacancies......

You can't be any closer to the action that this......and all the rooms are up on the second floor......so you do have some privacy up there......and they usually have a security guard after dark who stays in the office.

Pretty good, inexpensive place to stay in Jaco.

Steve

PS
River54.......My advice : You will be able to do better than staying at the Presidente in San Jose. They are very expensive, not particulary chica friendly...they now have a dress code for the girls....etc.......( in reality ) they really no longer want the monger's business..........

I recommend the following hotels in San Jose:

Hotel Castillo......about 5-6 blocks from the Del Rey Hotel, or the Sportsman's Lodge.....just around the corner from the Castillo. Take a taxi after dark to and from town....but OK to walk during the daytime.

( You will perhaps need a reservation....both hotels have websites ).

Both great hotels to stay in......and a far better alternative to the Presidente......in my opinion. Been there - done that.....many, many times !

On bringing gifts for the girls......they almost all like some 'regals dinero"....little free gifts.
Before leaving - Go to the Dollar Store in the US and bring some cheap - $ 1.00 perfume, or eye shadow/make up kits, or whatever you think they would like......I like to get the little $ 1.00 radios, along with some batteries...they seem to really like those.....perhaps for their 'ninos' (kids).

Forget the shampoo, or other large stuff like that....they can get that cheap in CR.

I have a traveling buddy from New York via Bombay, India (his birthplace) who will bring watches and jewelry items - stuff that perhaps costs $ 15-20.00 each for gifts for the girls. His luggage is loaded down with it....and he totes along 2-3 big suitcases....too much stuff to travel with - in my opinion.

I like to travel LIGHT.....one flight bag...one overnight bag......

Anyway my friend does get - ----girly -----rewards from his gifts (and that's the whole idea of regalo dinero............but that expense for the watches and such is not necessary. They will like a little $ 1.00 gift just as well....and they are lots CHEAPER.....and easier to carry than a watch or jewelry (bracelet/necklace) in a box.

Real Estate in Jaco Beach:

It has skyrocketed in the last couple of years......you used to be able to buy a nice big, desirable, beach front lot in Jaco for perhaps $ 15,000 - 20,000.00
.....not anymore.....now they are asking $ 100.000.00 to 200,000.00 USD and up......... for them.

My Advice.......go someplace else to buy property in CR.........

One final thought........The van load of girls deal.......sounds like you are trying to 'carry coals to New Castle'.......which is a literary reference about bringing Coal from England to another location - which already has the 'motherloade of Coal......( not necessary) - why import gals from San Jose to Jaco Beach....and have to pay for their transportation there and back, plus their lodging and food.....and then pay them for their company too.......when the buses are already full of them everyday traveling back and forth between San Jose and Jaco..........

There are plenty of girls in Jaco.....and they are mostly the same girls from San Jose....they simply go back and forth- spending the weekend in Jaco then back home to San Jose to see their kids and then to go work at the Del Rey...........
Think about that................SPW
.....................................................................................

.......................................................................................

Bstrong. You wrote "You can arrange for a van load of girls to audition for you and your crew, starting at $80-$100/day, for a up to a week. They will be your companions, GFEs, (novia). A little sweetness, get to know you time, a few small gifts and you can have a true GFE for the week." How does this work and is it fun? Where do you find them?

Should I bring some kinds of gifts with me to enhance the fun?

Oaky, I'll stop! I've to to CR several times but, always brought a GF. NOT this time! LOL!

Appreciate any inf including real estae that's not ripping off the gringo!

Thanks Stevewxly for the info! Appreciate it!

My trip in late Aug went great. Spent 5 nights at the Sportsmans Lodge. Quite nice and convenient. met with on or two gals a day and they were also very nice. Kept the price at $50 and didn't barter. Early and late are the best times. Picked up a couple at the DR and brought them back which was fine with them AND me. LOL!!!!

Also spent 3 nights in Jaco looking at real estate. Still looking serios at some of the condos for sale around 45K to 70K. Small, simple, secure and they rent out for around 500 to 600 a week when I'm not there AND only a block from the beach. Any warnings out there??

I didn't make it to the Beatle Bar! Damn! However, going back Oct 1st for another trip. I WILL check out the Jaco chicas on that trip. Hope they're as nice as the SJ chicas.

Also, maycheck out the Castillo as it is in a good location and quite a bit cheaper. Thanks for the info! Keep it coming!

FYI-

From my experience traveling around Costa Rica :

I have noticed that there are lots of gals who travel back and forth between San Jose and Jaco Beach.

You will see certain gals in the Del Rey during the week and then when you go to the beach in Jaco on the weekend.....you will also see the some of the same gals there at the Beatle Bar.

Many of them travel back and forth......

There are cheap little apartments in Jaco and some of the girls pair up with 2-3 of them sharing a small apartment and the costs in Jaco......and I suppose the out-of-towners (like from Colombia, the Dominican, Panama, etc) also do the same in San Jose.

So do not be very much surprised to see some of the same gals 'from the Del Rey/Blue Marlin' in San Jose.....who will then show up in Jaco later. It's only about a $ 3.00 - 4.00 bus ride for them to go back and forth.

If you also take the bus - like I do-----most times from San Jose to Jaco....back and forth.....then if you are observant - it is not too difficult to spot the 'working girls' while on the bus. Sometimes one can casually chat them up while on the bus trip..... other times - they will pretend not to know what you are talking about - while on the bus - they know who you are....and they know what they are....but they do not want the other passengers on the bus to know what is going on with them.

But with a little experience - it is pretty easy to spot a 'working girl' even when she is 'out of her element'.

One question about Jaco is that there doesn't seem to be anywhere to "mix" with the chicas durring the day. Any suggestions? It seems to have to be at night only.

Is the bus from SJ to Jaco a hassle? Especially, with luggage?

river54,
you still can't receive any private messages....until you get more reports 'under your belt'. but here is a good answer to your question about where to find gals during the daytime in jaco.

nearly all the p4p....thats play 4 pay gals will be staying and sharing very small studio apartments in the heart of jaco....which will be centered around the colonial restaurant & down the street a block or so- the mas y menos supermarket area....you will find it- no problem..... on the main drag about 7-8 blocks south of the beatle bar.

here is a good tip -

these girls do not want to have to stay in their crowed (as they may be sharing this single room with 2-3 other girlfriends....so they will usually get up in the morning around 9-10-11 am and roam around the streets of jaco....just to get out of the small apartment and then also to kill some time until it is time to 'go back to work' in the bars and clubs of jaco.

the girls gotta eat too....and there are many, many small eating places (little restaurants ) rep001tered all around jaco.
be there at lunch time....see a girl coming for lunch....chat her up & go from there.........this is another tip that has worked for me.

so you will have some enjoyable work to during the day....if you play it right.

so armed with this knowledge...that i give you freely here....what do you do.

well from about 9:30 am until 1 pm or so....you walk down to the colonial restaurant and sit at one of the front tables - right on the sidewald.....(no charge) where you can see and be seen by any passerby. you will see everyone who walks by. by the way - i recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice.....

why will you be there at that time....
well to pickup girls of course......
who will be walking by....well there should be dozens and dozens of working girls out for a morning stoll....again killing time until it's time to get "made up" and back to the 'ole grind at work.

if you have been to the beatle bar the night before you will easily recognize many of them.....and they may turn recognize you....and will know in an instant what you are up to.......which is all good.....as it's just more business for them.

you make eye contact with them as they walk by.....and it is nt trick at all to say hello to them as they walk by, and then when you find one you like...you invite her to sit down with you for a drink.

and usually at that time of the day it would be a coke or orange juice....which is a cheap price for an introduction to meet them.

(((( speaking of that.....i hear now that the 'new owners' of the beatle bar are now charging a cover charge for guys to get in....what a shame.....as it was always free like for the last umpteen years.....

when you find a nice one....start talking to her.....spanish helps....but most of them will understand quite a bit of english.
chat them up....get their phone number....they all have cell phones.....and when you find one you want to have 'carnal knowledge with' ask her price , and if you think it is reasonable and she is 'a hot mama'....then go for it......and hop into a taxi and go straight to your hotel for a 'nooner.

this has worked for me many, many times....and it is often lots cheaper getting the same quality of sexo during an early afternoon session than it would be to " do " the same girl by finding her in one of the bars or clubs at night.

what should you pay???? they will usually ask $ 100.00 at night from the beatle bar....but you should be able to bargain them down to around $ 50.00. to 60.00 for an hour session.

daytime....can be a bit cheaper......maybe $ 30-40.00 - especially if they don't have to go to far to your hotel....or if they had had a bad night at the beatle bar the night before, and need to make some quick money during the day.

and believe me.....money talks loud in jaco as anywhere else in central america !

often times there will be 80 or more gilrs working in & out of the beatle bar in an evening....and there may only be 25-30 gringo (guys) there....so do to very stiff competition among the girls........many of those girls will not 'score' anything that night....and will go home 'empty handed'.....no dinero.

this may be true especially with the marginally attractive or perhaps chubby type girls......the good lookers always score first....and probably most too......that is rule # 1 in the jungle.

be careful of girls on the fringe....those who are walking the streets at night within a block or so of the clubs and bars like the beatle bar....there is a reason they are not in the bar or club working...and that is usually because they do not have a current good health card...or the are a transvesti - transvestite - (a chick with a dick.....bummer)), or that they have been banned from the beatle bar (for example) for bad behavior or stealing and been caught...that sort of thing.

just in general be careful and use your head......mainly the big one on your shoulders....and you should be ok.

on the bus from sj to jaco.....

it is not a hassle at all. go to the coca cola bus station.....get a ticket to jaco....if memory serves it was about $ 4.00....and go. just keep a close watch on your baggage / belongings...as they ( local ticos) will take your stuff if you are not guarding it carefully. if you have luggage you can usually get a stub from the bus driver and put it in the compartments below.....but check at each stop and make sure your baggage does not " walk away" with a tico....who says it is his......i like to keep all my bags on the rack above my head or in the seat right next to me...that way i know they are safe and secure.

as an alternative to the more crowed and less comfortable public buses running between sj and jaco......(but really for only a 2-3 hour trip- they are not bad at all ) you can take an 8-10 passenger, air conditioned, mini van that will pick up up at any hotel in sj and take you to jaco in a little more comfort...price runs about $ 20-25.00 one way for this.
call inter bus or grey line or ask at any hotel desk ( your hotel will make the reservation for the next day for you....but with only room for 8-10 passengers- many times they fill up quickly ....so do not wait until the last minute for this...get your reservation first)........for info, pickup times and prices on this service. you will usually need a reservation for a trip on inter bus or grey line....and they will drop you off in jaco at almost any point of your choosing....say in front of the beatle bar, or a hotel where you have reserved a room or at the main public bus station if you desire....and it is about 7-8 blocks north of the beatle bar and the downtown area.

hope these little tips works for you, and that you have a great trip......enjoy !

steve

Heading there from San Jose for a few days if anyone wants to split a ride or scout the bars. Looks like it's gonna be Clarita's since some of the others that have been recommended in the past are now getting horrible reviews for being filthy dumps. I am gathering that Clarita's is Chica friendly, but don't know about guest fee. I keep hearing reference to Los 4 Grandes Hotel next to the Beatle Bar, but Google turns up nothing and I assume it is extinct. Will report on it after.

Hola Amigo

I posted an answer to this same or similar question before.....I believe you will be disappointed being down here either over Christmas or New Years-

That is family time for most of the folks here. The out of town Chicas go home during that week, the ones living here in either San Jose or Jaco ....and I have been both places during that week....are spending time with their families....they typically do not work that week.

So perhaps you should try to get down here either before Christmas week or after New Years.
I think you will be well advised to stay home and party in the US during Christmas week, then plan your trip here for another time.

PS
I am not an armchair poster sitting at home in the US and answering your question.....

I was in Jaco this afternoon, and am now back in San Jose this evening...........

SEAJoe,

I thought we were going to cut Meat Loaf some slack .......

I think he was just reafirming that I was down here and actually knew a little about Central America.

Old Meat Loaf is still alive and well I presume.....but I think he is on haiatius from posting on the Nicaragua threads.

Sometimes it is difficult to read you, Joe.....I think your post is not so much being critical of Meat Loaf, as it is more or less an invitation for him to start posting again on the Nicaragua threads.

Anyway I sort of miss reading his musings.....although drivel might be a better choice of words.
If he would leave out the bragging, the gloom & doom, and the political non-sense.....his writing would not be half bad.

You have to give him one thing.....he is intelligent and this comes through in his writing.

........................................................

I am in San Jose CR now, and think it is more suitable for me than Nicaragua......although one of these days - Nicaragua should and will perhaps become a better mongering location than it currently is........that's just my 2 cents worth.

Things here in Costa Rica seem to be pretty good......and no doubt they will improve for me when my wingman gets here in a few days.

Hoping to go to check out Pantera Rosa.....where I have yet to go, in the next day or so.....and I will report more later.

I heard that Jaco / Jaco Beach is a dump!

There are half-finished condominiums all over the place. There are lots of drugs.

I heard that only "sucker a*s Gringos" from the USA with no knowledge of anything beyond Sandals Resorts visit Jaco / Jaco Beach. These rookies travel to Jaco and purchase condominiums, drugs, SW, and marry local Ticas.

Is Jaco / Jaco Beach really a dump?

That is pretty accurate in my view.

Prices equal to the States. Unkempt beaches, derelict buildings and many drug dealers on the streets.

If the chicas in Beatle Bar wanted $30,though, there would be many more reaosns to go.

I really liked my $30 a night bungalow in a nice small complex. But, I wouldn't go back to Jaco.

It is a poor small town and the beach is not that great.

Yes, real estate agents try to push overpriced condo's. Buyer beware. It is always best to rent a place for 6 or 12 months before you buy. But, you can still have fun if you enjoy a small beach town with one main road for retail and food.

Now a question for Senior Meat Loaf -

Have you ever been to Jaco Beach Costa Rica, or are your questions above based on second hand information / hearsay ???

If you have visited Jaco Beach....then you perhaps have seen the changes that have taken place there in the past couple of years. The changes - some good, some not so good are all a part of Jaco's growth I think.. With it being fairly close to San Jose, I think Jaco was bound to suffer a few growing pains......which is what I would call the current situation there.

If you are basing your questions on what you have heard from others....who may or may not be biased against the little town of Jaco.....then please don't take hearsay for being the gospel-truth.

My advice....go to Jaco, check it out for yourself, then get back to all of us with your updated opinions.....

I for one, like Jaco Beach.....there are similarities to San Jose and of course other parts of CR....but then again Jaco has it's own vibe - which I kind of enjoy.

If you can cancel your current reservations at the Mariott see Stevewxly's report in San Jose Current Reports dated October 12, 2009 on Jaco Beach:

I am staying again at the Los Four Grandes Hotel. I have a great king sized room for $ 36.00....actually its a suite with two beds in two rooms, AC and everything. It is just right up the stairs from the Beatle Bar and very centrally located.

I usually do not care to pay as much as $ 36.00 for a room, but these are super nice rooms for that kind of money, so it's will suit me for a few days.
