Yes they let you smoke outside anywhere on grounds except the dining table area, the cigar shop is maybe 15-20 minute drive from bb. Its decent, its by the city town tourist area.

You can NOT smoke in your room, the dining area or the bar area under the roof. You can smoke anywhere else outside around the pool, or on the balconies or porches of the rooms. If you bring outside liquor,(sneaking it in) you must have it in your big bag, as they are searching any backpacks or other misc, smaller bags now.

I took it back to the resort and went to the bar for a drink and the bar tender said "I see you are really enjoying my country. Very few visitors do that. " he made me this rum punch that was so good that when back home and after many experiments was able to duplicate it. Fortune favors the bold.

The only way I have ever stayed in a hotel like that is one that prevented you from bringing you own alcohol in. That was a cruise ship. And me and my travel partner would still circumvent the rules as we liked to drink and it was expensive on the ship. During one of our stops, we asked for a taxi driver to take us to a grocery store. He told us he gets that request from cruise passengers all the time. We told him that is because it is expensive to buy anything on the ship and the only thing they let you have for free is the air and to go the bathroom. He laughed and said "They have a good reason to let you do that". LOL!

"Blackbeards has not raised room rates in over 10 years and when we did so it was less than a 10% Increase. Our hotel, like all other hotels in the world, rely heavily on the income from Bar and Restaurant Sales.

We no longer allow any outside purchased alcoholic beverages to be brought into Blackbeards, it will be confiscated upon your check in and returned to you when you check out.

Our bar has full bottle sales available of most major brands or if you notify us in advance we will try to have it here when you arrive. Helps us stay afloat so we can continue offering one of the best affordable vacations anywhere!

Visibility was only about 4-5 feet, and there was trash everywhere.

Second, I arranged for a late check out since I had a late flight. Lady at the desk told me, 'Regular checkout is a 3, late checkout is at 5', even though the sign next to her head said something completely different. Whatever paid anyway. Day of checkout, they are pounding on my door at 11 am, 'We made a mistake and booked someone here, can you leave early? Sure, I said, give me 20 minutes to pack up and I'll be out. 'Can you make it quicker than that, please? WTF due? Ok, whatever, start packing. 20 min later, more knocking, 'Ok, mistake corrected, you can stay here until late checkout'. Sigh, ok. Thanks. Go back to relaxing. 2 hours later, more knocking, 'Ok, we didn't fix the mistake. We need you out. I can put you in another room for the next few hours'. Nope, fuckit dude. I'll just lay my backs behind the desk and sit at the bar. But did they still charge me for late checkout? You betcha!

Finally, as an FNG I arranged transport to and from STI with BB. Just easier that way, I figured. Worked out well on the pickup, driver got me there no problems. Transfer was included in the bill. Of course, I naturally assumed the reverse would be the same. Nope. Got to the airport and owed the driver $110. Dollars, not pesos. Luckily, I had that much on me, although it cleaned me out. What kind of idiot assumes that when a resort says, 'We will arrange pickup and drop-off, added to your bill' that it would mean exactly that?

Also, they advertise a masseuse on-site. Not true. Luckily, there is one halfway between BB and Jenny's. They offer a great massage for 1 K POP, well worth it. And Jenny's is an easy walk, no need to pay the moto-taxis.

So, with all the complaints, you might assume I would recommend avoiding BB. Not at all. First, despite any problems, the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful (as they can be). Second, you would have to work hard to not get laid. That can only be a plus. But the thing that Blackbeards shines on is distance and cost. If you are east of the Mississippi (and even slightly west of it) there is no closer mongering destination, and the flights are reasonable. And the cost, my god. It is unbelievably cheap. I was very liberal with my spending, and still skated out under $2 K all in. Five days of lodging, food, drinks, and girls two at a time for less than I paid to replace my brakes. If you are frugal, you could easily do a week here, get a girl a day, and do it for under $1 K. You just can't beat that. I enjoy the Mansion more, but it's more than double the flight time, and double the cost. So, I do recommend BB for all you FNGs. I will probably go back for a day or two my next visit, but then I'm going out to Sosua.

Just went to Blackbeards for the first time recently. Quality of chicas is pretty good. Definitely a few 7-8's there, but they usually go down a numeral when you get a better look. Why is this so complicated LOL.This may have been answered, but you can get a cab from the Santiago airport, or at least you could when I was there last winter. It is about $100 US, give or take. I had a late night arrival so didn't want to mess around. There used to be a shared ride service called Tropiclink that was much cheaper, but on the last trip, they said they don't service the area at that time. You might search and call (there is a US number). To see if they are back in business. BB's getting you a cab is about the same price. However, at the airport, the cab supervisor asked if someone else could ride with me, I said yes, but we will now split the fair somewhat.

As to your other questin about slim girls, each time I have been there, several slims girls are available. In my experience with the 5 or 6 times I have visited BB's, the best selection is in the later shift, particularly on the weekend. There are always exceptions, or course.

For example, if you are getting to BB's at 4:00 am On January 3, you will need to pay for January 2. If you email them that you are arriving late, they will give keys to the security guard, and you can pay when you wake up.

When I was there in March, I don't know what it was but the hamburger got me sick to my stomach. I threw it up so I thought maybe I will just had a bad burger that day so I bought it again a couple days later in the same thing happened so I don't know other than at the breakfast was pretty good. Other food items that I didn't have any issues with just a hamburger meat that one time when I bought the hamburgers are two different days had the same issue.I was at BB's several years ago and actually got food poisoning from eating the hamburger. It wasn't thoroughly cooked and had probably been out in the sun or not refrigerated properly. You're lucky you vomited because I had to get ani-biotics and was out of commission for a couple days. I think the beef gets spoiled there in the heat.

Anyway in years previous & last year, the chicas dress as cheerleaders and they have BBQ chicken & a rib. They serve popcorn too. During all commercial breaks and halftime the chicas danced. I passed out about 100 1's. Since the gringo had a TV, we were able to do it in the crows nest using a sheet for the screen & it turned out great. Nico also did football squares & was in charge of Super Bowl. With Nico gone, no more squares and with Ted in charge, it will be downstairs with the bar TV & restaurant TV. Years prior, they had a big screenTV in the crows nest & it was fantastic! No more. TV in crows nest gone. BM.You would need to be fluent in Spanish to have a Girl Friend Experience in the Dominican Republic. Are you fluent in Spanish? If not, the communication aspect of the GFE would be lost. Also, you want a GFE with several women in a few hours. At Black Beards all the women know one another. The "now serving number 3," mentality and girl friend experience don't seem to align well. Mediocre experience. Was NOT informed you have to pay 1000 p to bring in guests (ie girls who do NOT work at BBs).

Also, upon checkout, a 1000 p plus food charge was placed on my tab that I didn't have. I think a bar girl I was talking to told the waitress I would pay, yet I didn't. And there wasn't a signature on the tab. I refused to pay, they called the waitress, she had to pay from her pocket. So sad as it was likely her daily wage. So I paid to help her out, and said I would never return. And I might not.

BBs is out in the middle of nowhere in POP. But I think it is needed in order to get girls who will perform for 3000 p. In Sosua, few if any girls will do anything for that rate. And there are quality girls at BBs. So if you want decent girls for a good rate, BB's make sense. Some guys were taking 3 girls a day.

The food is good, and has standard costs. The room was average: good WIFI, and AC, but the shower only had a nozzle on a hoze so you had to hold it while washing.

Mediocre experience. Was NOT informed you have to pay 1000 p to bring in guests (ie girls who do NOT work at BBs).

Also, upon checkout, a 1000 p plus food charge was placed on my tab that I didn't have. I think a bar girl I was talking to told the waitress I would pay, yet I didn't. And there wasn't a signature on the tab. I refused to pay, they called the waitress, she had to pay from her pocket. So sad as it was likely her daily wage. So I paid to help her out, and said I would never return. And I might not.

BBs is out in the middle of nowhere in POP. But I think it is needed in order to get girls who will perform for 3000 p. In Sosua, few if any girls will do anything for that rate. And there are quality girls at BBs. So if you want decent girls for a good rate, BB's make sense. Some guys were taking 3 girls a day.

The food is good, and has standard costs. The room was average: good WIFI, and AC, but the shower only had a nozzle on a hoze so you had to hold it while washing.

So, ok experience and I might return, but Sosua is more fun.The only advice I can give anyone is to pay your tab daily at the hotel and itemize a check it and go over it to make sure there's no discrepancies. I have stayed there back in the day before visiting Sosua. I have enjoyed Sosua for over 10 years. BB usually has 1 or 2 8's while the rest are average at best. All the guys sit around waiting in que. There may be reasons to go to BB. For me it is know a no brainer, 200 girls verses 10 or 15. Do the math. I tend enjoy the hunt a bit. Some guys really enjoy the thrill of the hunt that Sosua provides. Other guys prefer the relaxation of simply choosing from a group of available women. I can appreciate both perspectives. I go to BBs to relax and unwind, but that may not appeal to guys who are looking for a different dynamic.

I've long thought that the photos of the women in the newsletter don't do them justice. Though you probably won't find any true stunners at BBs, the women seem prettier in person than in those photos. Then too, there isn't a correlation between looks and skills. I am hungry I have no food.

I need a recharge on my phone for internet or you will not hear from me.

My kid is sick I need money for a clinic.

BB is slow or I have my period I am not allowed to work. I have no food.

My apt is going to be taken. I owe rent money. Work is slow. Do you want me on the street?

And there are a ton more.

Do Not I repeat DO NOT keep in touch with them. They will try to hustle you a little at a time. 20 here 50 there or more. My boy got hustled in November, my other friend got hustled in February. They will prey on your natural nature to be a protector and provider. Most of them have boyfriends anyway and all your money is going to go to is getting their loser boyfriend sneakers, or clothing.

The most important lesson here is even if you do give them money and you believe their sob stories it's not a deposit on a future visit when you come back and you're like hey I sent you extra amount of money I should get a freebie. Nope, they will be insulted they will fight with you. They will argue with you. You will not get a freebie or a date for the money you sent.

Two of my friends will not come back after getting hustled. If you see a new pirate help them please. Do not like them get hustled post BB trip.

It is a great spot they have rules to control the chicas behavior, but the chicas get around it by hustling you on Facebook or what's up app or other ways of contacting you and finessing you for money with little or no return for your money it's not worth it a 20 here or 20 there 50 here 50 there might not seem like much at first, but as what happened to two of my friends, those little WesternUnion deposits will add up to large amount of money over a short amount of time if you're not too careful.

BB is a dated hotel with a pool, a bar and a bunch of hookers sitting around waiting to get fucked. Plus, I think most hotel booking sites won't allow them on their platform, so when I went I had to fuck around emailing the hotel to reserve a room.

Oh, Ill also mention that when I stayed there I got the worst diarhea Ive had in my life. It knocked me out for days. Imodium didnt fix it, and I ended up taking antibiotics (Bactrim) whch thankfully you can buy over the counter. Apparently its very common to get sick from eating salad washed in the local water.I got scabies there a few years back. Had to use special shampoo as a body wash for a week. Its like lice, but on your fingers, they lay eggs under your skin.

When I was there at least one of the girls offered BBFS for an upcharge after I had barfined her and she was in my room.
