@Vancouverdude: Define "safe". It would be easiest to simply park for free on a side street and walk. Alternately, there are a few parkades around Portage place that are within walking distance of the west end; I don't know the exact addresses offhand, but go east of Balmoral on Elice, then turn right (south) around Carlton. There are none around the north end as far as I know.

I forgot to mention that I was going to check out the Northend in the daytime, I know better than to walk around there in the night, but it seems there's no safe place to park and leave your car at so driving it is.
Coming from Vancouver I sort of get the feeling that walking around the Downtown Eastside at 1 or 2 in the morning (which I do) is safer than the Northend of Winnipeg which is saying a lot lol.
To me at least, walking is better than driving around, that way if you're walking by and she says "Hi," you can just say "Hello," and ask her what her prices are as you go by instead of pulling over and backing up traffic so you can talk to her as she's leaning into your window looking all suspicious.
Or letting her in, driving away to negotiate and maybe having a hard time getting her out of your car.
I've also seen guys who are obviously cruising go around the block a couple times only to see nothing and drive away, then I come walking up and find some smoking hot 18 year old who just got there.

As people have been saying, be very fucking careful, or don't even go to the north end. Have been to Broadways, Moonlight on McPhillips and Executive Bath.
Broadways, decent room price, excellent choice of girls but you will pay around $80. $100 for a tug or oral, depending on the girl.

The northend (Selkirk Avenue area) and west end (Sargent/Ellice Avenue) are the major areas for girls. Just beware of girls that look too good or are too nice to you are either LE or work for LE. I haven't hit the escorts or massage parlours yet so I can't give you advice for those. But I've heard there's a decent Asian MP on Portage by a Burger joint. Sometimes I will drive around for a few blocks, taking weird turns and then noticing if somebody is following me. That is only if the girls is very quiet and won't say a thing.
