Secondly, you have no idea how lazy the revenue dept staff are do you? I know someone that insisted on getting a tax ID because of the new law. When he went to the government office, they refused to give it to him. The reason they gave him was enforcement. They don't want the extra work to go after foreigners. Believe me. If they target foreigners on this law, do you know how many foreigners will leave and retire elsewhere? Or they will just use a visa agent for their extension, just like they do when they dont have the 800 K or cant prove their income for their extension of stay based on retirement.

Bury the hatchet with the other member and learn that people can disagree without throwing insults back and forth.

I have had critics and racists attacking me on ISG since I started posting in the ISG forums (12 years ago). They start with: you are the new guy. I have been here since the glory days. Blah, Blah, Blah. What is completely unacceptable is to make assumptions about the background of an individual and then presume they are negative while knowing absolutely nothing about the person behind the online personality.
I have posted quotes of individuals judging my character while refusing to get to know me as a real person. Interesting enough I have made several very good friends IRL off of ISG after corresponding with them personally and through that correspondence find a place of common understanding and respect. Any of you still believe there's actually a god out there? While the world has plenty of evil assholes just walking around everyday consequence free, these innocent little souls were burnt to death? It's stuff like this that's proof positive there ain't no such thing as god or karma or any of that shit.
It really does put things into perspective. These young lives just snuffed out like that. While here I am an old man, still just waiting to get back to Thailand. When someone's dead, they can't wait for nothing no more. Maybe, just maybe in a fucked up way, at least they won't know the pain of being an adult. Of living life. One can only hope they had happy lives before it all ended.
It's just fucking sad. But here's the thing though, I know enough about Thai culture specifically, and Asian culture in general, that the parents you see being sad and stuff, aren't necessarily sad that their kids are gone, in and of it self. It's more that they're sad no one is left to take care of them in their old age. It's just how it is.
In a weird messed up way, it does put into a wider context though. It's like you know what? Sadness like this happens. I've had a long and sad life, and Thailand was all I had to live for. But anything can happen, at any time. I'm running out of dough, that's for sure. I ain't employed no more, that's for sure. But Thailand is still there. And somehow I'm still alive. Not in great shape. In very bad shape as a matter of fact, maybe I'm just a few sidegras away from a heart attack. But what's the old saying in latin? - Dum Spiro Spero. While I breathe I hope.
Somehow the universe is keeping an asshole like me alive, jeez. Those of us who want to die, or deserve to die, live. While those that deserve to live, die.

That bus tragedy really puts things into perspective. You know how in life we always color things in relation to our own lives, cause it's all relative, so there I was being sad that I couldn't go to Thailand this time around, and I saw this whole thing on the news. It's tragic. It's sad.
