Why are these girls against westerners.

Because, generally, we are older, fatter, pay significantly less and, demand much more for the comparatively little we do pay.

P.S. I forgot to add that should she be seen going with a westerner, then she is likely to be ostracized by the high paying Koreans, Chinese, Japanese etc too.

All round, openly fucking a westerner represents a very bad business decision for the prettiest girls who have numerous options.

However, there is some disagreement on the board about what can happen after hours, with a long term resident customer, away from prying eyes. But that's another discussion. 🤔.G is right, those are over-arching generalizations. They really apply only in AC. I was in AC recently and while I did see some K-fawning by the girls (especially when the Korean was throwing peso notes into a crowd of gogo girls on stage), I noticed that I was as much relished in many bars as the old days. I heard repeatedly: "Buy this one a drink sir". "Why not barfine tonight sir? So many girls". And, "You barfine that one tonight sir. She needs it". There seemed to be plenty of fine-fanny to go around for anyone.

A thought on the K thing in Korean bars. In several such bars I was the only white customer. At times, not only was I being ignored, but also the girls weren't paying attention to anyone who was not having a LD with a girl, nor were the girls on stage paying attention to any customers in the bar, including the Korean guys. Koreans often go in with other Korean mates and just share a drink or two, chat together or pay attention to their phones, and pay scant attention to the girls. The Korean gents who walk into a bar, get a lineup, and barfine 1 (or multiple) girls; and Koreans who make it rain, are by far the minority of Koreans hitting WS. Its true, the girls sometimes fawn over Koreans, and some girls might not be seen with a westerner. I am sure that would not keep me from going to AC.

The AC thread in the Phils forums seems to stay at the top of the reports since the Covid re-opening. Outside AC, things are different. There is an increased Korean (and other asian foreigners) presence in Burgos also, but I haven't seen much K-fawning. That leaves just AC with this issue. Outside of AC, anyone who is blond / blue (or anyone who is nice and has a wallet) is still a hit with the pina.

With respect we have been over this countless times, lollipop bar does not have 2 types of bikini colour deplicting the girls price, all girls are 4,000 peso, how do I know this I have been in lollipop bar countless times over the last few weeks / months and was last there 2 nights ago, as pointed out before, the bar owner, the manager, the mama, the girls all confirm the bikini colours mean nothing and all girls are 4,000 peso, hell most nights many girls are wearing white, blue yellow and any other colour bikini in lollipop bar.

No driver would offer any kind of price reduction. They hang around together, always, at malls and tryke terminals. If you ask the first driver in line if he will accept p80 instead of p100, he will say no. Approach the second, third, or fourth and they will all say no. They act as a gang and surround you while you are trying to get a price reduction (as an intimidation factor both for you, and any errant driver who might want to break with the brotherhood and lower the price). There is even the old outdated fare matrix on a placard in every tryke. I approached the Brgy hall to complain (the Brgy sets all Tryke, motorella, local moto-taxi, and pedicab rates). "No sir. We let them charge what they want now. Its up to them". Talk about a complete abdication of responsibility. Its no different in Angeles.

In your neighborhood, trash pickup service is Wednesdays. The truck usually rolls in around 6 am-8 am. You put your trash outside in trash cans Tuesday evening, and bring in the empty cans on Wednesday morning. On a certain Tuesday morning (a day early), you hear the trash truck driving by early. You look out the window and see the truck going past your house at 5:50 am. Hmmm. Later in the morning you see your neighbor outside watering his plants. You inquire as to the trash early pickup. Seems it was a surprise to him and everyone else. Nobody put their thrash out. Everyone puts their trash out that Tuesday evening, hoping the truck comes thru on Wednesday morning. But it doesn't; no truck comes by. Was Wednesday a holiday? "No". You leave the trash cans outside and wait for a Thursday pickup, but it doesn't come.

You bike over to the Brgy hall and inquire. "We don't know sir. You call the city hall". You bike over to the city hall (its on your way to an upscale coffee shop you like -- because the place is littered with PYT's) and inquire. "They what"? They came a day early, on Tuesday. "Really". Really. Why? "We don't know sir". They also didn't come today, Thursday. Why not? "Ah. Um. We don't know". I see. Will it come next week on Wednesday? "We are not sure of that sir". Is there a holiday or city celebration or function next week? "No sir". Is there anything you *are* sure of? "Yes we are having an office party tomorrow afternoon. You can come here".

What do I do with this week's trash? "It will go next week sir". I mean, I have 2 trash cans, and they are already full from the past week's trash. Where do I put the additional trash from the upcoming week? "I don't know sir". Can you ask them to hit our neighborhood tomorrow to make up for the miss this week? Deadpan response: "They didn't miss this week sir. They came on Tuesday". Hahaha Grrrrrrrrr!

You bike of to the coffee shop and contemplate: I never considered the possibility, until I moved to Phils, that there would be a get-your-poon / keep-your-trash tradeoff.

NAIA Terminal 1 is STILL the most unorganized shady unpractical terminal in the world.

You need to clear security 3 times where they don't really check you these used to be places where they planted bullets on you. Now they still check your bag at every single check point. No dildos no razors or toothbrushes nothing electric and if its gift wrapped might as well just offload your luggage at that point. Need to take medication past the 3rd check point well you are out of luck. They don't allow you to take even life saving medication with zero exceptions so severely disabled people need to hobble out of the security line to a water station that is literally 2 steps outside the security check point where this person is than once again subjected to EXTREEM scrutiny over and fucking over again. They are not really keeping any one safe they are just inconveniencing everyone. I have never been denied water in any airport other than NAIA term 1 nor have I been been told I cannot check in electronic devices that do not have a battery in them. It is a disgrace imo. The other terminals have some of this nonsense built in but nothing to this extent.I left NAIA Terminal 1 last month. When I came to Philippines, I brought the same backpack I use going to work, and I didn't notice I had left a walkie talkie inside. I had no problems flying, even with that inside, until I went to leave the Philippines (and I had flown several times while in Philippines from Terminal 3 on Cebu Pacific). There last security checkpoint, they pulled my bag for inspection and pulled it out. They said I had to remove the battery (which I had no idea how to do). For 20 minutes three different agents tried to remove the battery from it. Then they put it back inside my backpack, battery still attached because no one could figure out how to remove it, and told me not to use it on the plane or in the airport and sent me in my way. I was a little bit dumbfounded by that!

I have paid PM, Wonder if any board members with PM can help me or already know answer: flying a civilian holiday trip from Houston USA to Middle East, but am exploring possibly extending my holiday and swapping return flight with an trip-within-trip to MNL.

All of this hinges on a sweet price Google is finding: May several dates, Google finds a one way MNL-IAH via United for reasonable $550-560. I am directed to United's PH portal. When I iron everything and click PURCHASE, it redirects me to an error on the United US portal and says Whoops the price is actually going to be $1050 not 550, hopes and dreams RUINED.

Am hoping to coordinate with someone to browse United's website from a PH IP address to dummy up same itinerary and figure out if discrepancy is my IP address location in North America or if I need to be a Pinoy citizen / passport for that price to be honored. If its IP address then hunt for buddy with VPN powers, if its a citizenship / passport issue then hopes and dreams still ruined but at least we know why.

I always get out of the country first, then purchase separate round trip tickets from a location outside the US. If not a simple VPN should be able to test your theory.

I had my best experience ever at T1 from exiting the plane on an international flight to seated in a taxi was approx 10 minutes with pick up my of baggage from the carousel.Hi G,

I have to agree, I've always got out of there fast.

That is, after walking a mile to immigration.

The PAL planes from Brisbane Australia always seem to 'park' at the ass end of the airport and you get off the plane and onto a shuttle bus to the terminal.

Then it's a long walk to immigration.

However, once they've checked and stamped the passport, you grab your baggage and there's never been a customs wait to speak of.

Next thing you know, you're out being swamped by taxi touts.

One tip for others. If you've got a long wait for a flight out of there and want a beer or a smoke, go down to the departure level and buy beers from the small stores down there and just go out in the carpark around 'the tree'.

Also great for long flight delays rather than sitting inside the terminal departure lounge with hundreds of pissed off people.

Living in the USA, my biggest worries were about work. My job caused me a lot of stress. Projects, deadlines, people asking me questions I didn't know how to answer, etc.

I have none of those worries here. Here in AC, my biggest worry is scheduling girls. I have been texting the Perimeter waitress to coordinate the threeway for tomorrow afternoon. I was recently in Angeles and the place was hopping. The bars were busy with lots of customers, there were lots of girls and plenty of pretty ones. Some bars were so busy with customers I struggled to get a seat. The stage was so packed with girls at Viking, they had a line of girls dancing in front of the stage too. You make the place out to be a ghost-town but the truth is quite different.

You also have an obsession with Koreans. You try to put people off by implying westerners don't have a chance. I'm a white British guy in my late forties and on my trip I fucked the best looking black-tape dancer in Avalon (one of your beloved Korean bars) and an extremely hot Japanese-looking girl in Genesis, who three sour-faced Koreans tried to barfine under my nose. They literally asked a waitress to invite her over to join them despite the fact I'd bought her a drink. She told me this had happened as we walked down Fields Avenue back to my hotel, telling me she hates the arrogance of customers like that.

Angeles is a candy-shop, full of willing young, pretty girls, willing to spread their legs for cash. Anyone visiting, whether Western, Korean or Martian, will have the time of their life.Thanks for your input.

AC was only open in January and February as the lock down went into effect.

I have noticed the higher barfines now have produced a better crop of ladies.

2024.I think you will find that in truth although barfines increase regularly the quality of girls declines year by year IMHO.

Truth behind Bargirl earning.

A very good friend that works as a model show girl in a very well known angeles city korean oriented bar was telling me about her popularity for lady drinks and tips and what her minimum expected earning are.

Her quoted numbers were.

1000 peso per night salary,1000 peso per night tips and making it rain money.

Despite the fact it took an hour for the meals to hit the table, I complained, which is something I'm usually apprehensive to do.

But there comes a time when you know you're being fucked over. It had nothing to do with the price of the meal, just the principle as you suggest. Having said that, this could happen anywhere in the world _ Phil.

However if one person at a table orders the buffet all members of the party must pay for the buffet. Their assumption is that everyone will eat from the items you bring to the table. They are always upfront about this and tell you that if anyone orders the buffet everyone must order or at least pay for the buffet.

Six people trying to get in on one ticket would be highly unlikely. Some places have a time limit as well.

I remember one place I used in Sydney a few years ago. The place was near empty, so I took my time, and went back to the food a few times to get small servings of different dishes. After about the 4th or 5th time, the waitress came over and asked if I'd like a clean plate. She took the dirty one away, and never came back LOL.

I'll be honest, I have been with a few girls who won't sleep with Asian Indians and then there are others who are over dealing with old, fat, Australian, British and American alcoholics. There is a similar agency in the Phils: Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). You can open a complaint there, but it will do you little good. The DTI stopped dealing with consumer complaints during covid. They developed a separate system of non-binding arbitration. It will work like this: 1) You must go to a DTI office and fill out a complaint. A nice employee will seem sympathetic to your cause. 2) They will inform you that you will receive an email soon regarding setting up a Zoom-type vid call (MS Meeting, or MS Teams app, I think) between a mediator, yourself, and a company representative. 3) Weeks later you will have your vid call with the mediator and company rep. The mediator will explain to all parties that you can not record the meeting, and you can not have an attorney present. The mediator will explain that after mediation, your case can not be filed in Court. Each side must accept these rules to continue the arbitration. Each side will explain its actions regarding the issue to the mediator. 4) At the end of the mediation session, the arbitrator will say that he will send a written ruling at a later date. He will also remind both parties that his ruling is non-binding (meaning neither side must accept his recommendations). 5) A week later, you will receive the arbitrator's decisions / recommendations.

If he rules in your favor, the company you complained about will ignore his recommendations. If he rules in favor of the company (most likely), you also can ignore his recommendations, but you can not take the issue to Court (the issue is finished and muted). This is not so much stupid shit -- but funny or cute shit in the Philippines. I thought others might enjoy the story. A few years back I had taken a woman named Rhea out of LA Caf two or three times. I have not posted in a long time to this site. However, I need to speak on this. I am a long time traveler to Angeles and I still LOVE it. I sometimes pay the bar fines, but I know so many girls at this point, I can simply call girls over that I already know. I am here in part, because I like small slim girls. They are much more common here than in other places. I also like the cost of living, the climate, the scenery, the ease of long term visas, that English is widely spoken, etc here. Yes I can find that lots of places, but those places are nothing special either.

I generally do not go for pro's. I find the semi pro's and regular girls much easier to get here as well as many more that are my desired body type. If I could find a place that had a similar mix of what I am looking for, I would have considered it as my retirement place. As it was, I did a lot of searching and investigation into many places, on forums like ISG for the girl scene and other sites for culture, diving, cost of living, safety, visa and tax implications, etc.

Any complex decision has to be made on a compromise of many factors, you need to seriously look at what is important to you and what of your options best satisfies, for you, the not only the criteria but the weighting that you apply to that criteria. Someone might have the same criteria as I do, but apply a different weighting to that criteria and decide a different place is better for them.

The one that best fit my desires was the Philippines and now after living here for 7 years I see no need to revise my decision. (However I do look around in case things have changed in other places.).

My particular decision criteria might not be suitable for others. I respect that, I am willing to read opinions of others, if nothing else they can be entertaining and informative.

5) Many of his numbers about prices of beers and the prices of the barfines are wrong. After I corrected him, he kept doubling down. It seems he stopped after other people corrected him.

There are so many other BS / mistakes.

In his defense, there is a plausible possibility that he's a senile BSer that refuses to be corrected. I / many people know people like that. Some people BS and make up stuff.

On my last trip to Boracay, I thought I'd lash out and get a T-Bone at a beach bar down at station 3.

Well, even the dog under the table had issues with it.

When I said to the waiter / barman, "That would have to be the toughest steak I've ever eaten".

His simple reply was, "Thank you Sir!"

_ Phil.I have nothing but good things to say about the Old Manila at The Peninsula. I've had the salmon, duck, and steak, all excellent. Not cheap but they get the details just right and are one of those places with only a few items on the menu, but everything done well.

The current steak on the menu is. Tournedos Rossini" (Angus beef tenderloin, French duck foie gras, brioche, truffle mash). I plan to stop by and try it over the weekend.

You have to start online or over the phone dealing with the magical and all mighty "A. I. ". Then if you do get a live person that fool is from Indian or the Philippines. Then of course they can not help you. You have to be transferred at least twice. Then wait 30 days for the refund even though they took your money in a split second. I opened the email about an hour after it arrived, and then opened the CP website immediately in order to log in and get me some p1 vouchers, because only 1 million were available, and yesterday only! Before logging in, I noticed in large lettering on the page: "Sorry, no more vouchers are available". I was able to log in, but I only saw normal prices. The sale period was yesterday only, and the travel period is Dec 6 - 31.

1) Pic 1: From the website, you can contact "Charlie", an online bot that gives out FAQ info (but probably not what you are looking for). It says that you can reach a live agent 24/7 in this chat-bot, but I would guess that might only actually occur during normal business hours. Someone prove me wrong.

2) Pic 2: From the website, on the bottom of the main page, click on 'Talk To Us' (or this link). From there, you can fill in some of your contact and bio info, including your loving message or gripe to them. Then, you must click on the check-box at the bottom, allowing them to post your message or biographical info online, before you can click Submit and they consider your request / need. A shockingly bad way to offer customer service. You must be willing to out yourself first.

I think I may post again about steak suggestions just to get off-topic.I tried the Tournedos Rossini from the Old Manila, at the Peninsula. It was a good variation and I enjoyed it, especially with the truffle mash. However, it has a rich sauce and is not your typical steak.

The Super Prime Grade at Elbert's Steak Room is in a different category. The guy from the UK sitting at the table next to me summed it up perfectly. "This is a proper steak".

G.In agreeance with everyone else regarding CP. Their website's crap and don't even bother to try and become a rewards / frequent flyer member. Complete shambles. Dodgy unbranded Bulgarian planes used to get from Cebu to Manila on my last trip.

I booked a flight months ago for March next year to go from Manila to Caticlan (Boracay) with one of the GFs.

Within an hour of booking, there was a time change and I've had three emails since advising me of schedule changes.

The one thing I will say in their favor is, I'd recently booked a work trip with them from Manila to Cebu return and couldn't make it due to other business commitments. It was a pretty cheap flight in the scheme of things and non-refundable. However, because I'd signed up with them as a 'member' or similar, they've banked that for me to use on future trips.

I hate when they list prices and then you click on it the price has increased.

I worked part time as a brunch chef while attending University. So I have always been fascinated at what is considered breakfast around the world. Here in Thailand (were I am not) there is not a breakfast tradition. Breakfast is Thai food. It can be the same as what is eaten for lunch and dinner. Was a serious culture shock the first time my ATF fixed me breakfast. The next time I asked her if she could include some eggs for my breakfast. She said sure: I make you egg fried rice. Bet!

You are absolute correct that most dishes around the world a made from the same base components. Bread and Rice are excellent examples. How many different ways can bread be made or rice prepared. Then you have the three base meats (Beef, Chicken, Pork). We all working with the same base vegetables (but there are regional differences). The larger variety I have found is in the availability of different fruits. Since I left my country of origin 13 years ago the fruits I have experienced around the world have been exquisite (and that does not even include the melons, mangos or peaches).

Culinary styles are based in cultural conditions and sometimes the resources that were available to people. Here in Thailand left overs are not a thing. Everything should be eaten fresh and now. Personally I like to keep FRtH (Food Ready to Heat) in my refrigerator for when I am too lazy to go out or outside of the delivery window for the food I want.

I love my lechon pork and manok and lots of other dishes, even though compared to the rest of Asia, The Phils is a bit limited on variety. But I never really have an issue with local food.

(Maybe except for the absence of a knife and trying to cut shit with a spoon. Oh, and chopsticks would help out with the kanin ie: rice).

Whilst I'm still wary of some street food sitting in the sun for hours, it's probably 100% better for you than the processed stuff coming out of a global fast food restaurant chain or the cholesterol corners of the western world where there's a highway junction and a heart attack option on every corner paying the minimum wage.

Last year I had an good old friend visiting me here for a month, I took him around PH in all the best spots that I knew off. Guess what? It was the worse month of my life, nothing was good, everything was dirty, everywhere it stinked, food tasted horrible, the girls look like monkeys. This is the same guy that in his 20's was the most rebellious, unhinged person I knew, lead singer in a successful ac dc cover band (looked like Bon), I couldn't believe it, and I endured it all, not wanting to destroy a life long friendship over this.

It was his firsr SEA trip, and I explained to him that's his money, his time (mine too), and better enjoy it for better or worse, it is what it is, and stop comparing it to the civilized world, also I guaranteed him that later he will miss it. Well, that's exactly what happened, and all summer long he kept asking me when he should come back to PH. He did recognized that he was an asshole, and also stupid in his actions, and he's ashamed to say it, but is exactly as I predicted, he misses PH. I kind of gave him the runaround, avoiding an exact answer. Now I'm off the hook, he booked a trip to Peru, good luck with that!

The down side was I only saw a hand full of mixed couples and most of them were young guys or at least similar ages. Only one dirty old man with an entourage of slutlets.

As on the beauty scale Japanese girls have NO equal in SEA in my book!I like the Jap girls too, but mostly for the behavior, not necessarily their looks, 30 years ago when I was going to JP frequently, most of them had crooked teeth, and were insisting on walking around in high hills not really knowing how to.

I had a lot of interaction with the JP nation. My first wife's best GF moved to JP to teach them yoga 30 years ago, I found it extremely weird, a white blonde girl teaching the asians a thing that originated in Asia, but she was doing good apparently.

We did visit her quite a few times, also worth mentioning here is the fact that we were having 3 somes, but I wasn't very ecstatic about it, because I heard rumors about her that before Japan she was in some sort of sect, also yoga based and they were drinking their own piss and having orgies, all of it happening in the late 80's, I guess it was some sort of holistic thing back then. Later I will tell the story about my weird short lived "family life" in JP with the JP GF, and her mom.

Later I combined her with a japanese guy that I befriended in S of Brazil, and now he moved to JP with some special program for jap expats living in BR, where lots of them relocated after WWII, they moved together, I don't know how much he knew about her past, but I never mentioned our common past. Anyway she was starting to lose her hair and looked weird, green colored skin, due to strictly vegetarian, or vegan extreme diet. My BR-JP friend seemed to be very happy to have a white GF, so I let him be.

Many years later they broke up, and she returned from JP penniless.

Not so much with roaches. Hose him with some Baygon will see him skedaddle away a few feet and stop. Hose him again and he runs off again. He might lollygag about your place for up to a day before flipping himself upside down (the roach death knell), unable to up-right himself again. Even then he might live another 24 hours, slowly moving his legs and antennae. I'm not sure the fumigator would do any better, other than to drive them out of the place for a day or so. The fumes are only effective for a few hours.Place I rented had tons of roaches in it I had professional company come out initially and exterminate most of them.

Then I went on Lazada and bought a jug of demon WP + Gentrol IGR lasts for a few months and also stops flying insects as well for a month or at least reduces the over all amount drastically the IGR will make the last batch of roaches sterile plus roach bait where you can't spray demon wp. Every few months you should be mostly roach free well BUG free as well not just roaches.

This is the 3rd week of roach free living, after I used the military grade fumigators from lazada.

I think the portal to the other dimension where the roaches are coming from is in the bathroom, not in the kitchen as I previously believed, because I saw 2 small ones in two separate occasions few days ago (maybe was the same one). I reinvigorated them with a direct jet from a bottle of bygone, runed away and disappeared.

I recently made the 10.5 hour flight to Manila for the weekend to see my partner after 7 months. That's crazy shit, to be sure, but PAL is stupid.

I arrived for my return trip at the airport really early, to find that my flight time had been changed from 6:35 to 7:30. Apparently, the incoming plane was delayed, and they can claim it is not a delayed flight by changing the flight departure time. Ingenious. I'll give them that.

I decided to go to the gate about 3 hours early. My partner's flight was terminal 3 at 3 pm, and I was bored. So, I bought myself a coke and walked down to the gate (I had cleared security and screening already at their TSA-like entity after cleaning immigration). When I get down to the gate, they have the seating area cordoned off and their own security screening. I was told I had to get rid of my 5-minute old, unopened coke. So, after drinking some, I did. X-ray all bags, remove laptop and tablet, then remove shoes, then pat-down by a really cute but stone-faced Filipina security agent. Then you're allowed inside the seating area. If you have to leave for bathroom, water, etc. , you have to go through the same procedure again.

Then, suddenly, at 7 pm, they started to remove the cordon and stopped screening people. I guess the danger had passed or something (sarcasm). It is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Boarding the plane was equally stupid. They boarded first class first, then seniors and families with young children (seniors were half of the flight it seemed). Then they boarded by rows, assigned letters A-M. I dutifully waited for my letter J, but to no avail. After H, they came over the intercom and announced last call, for all passengers to immediately board. The attendant who had been holding up the letter cards just turned around, looked at the gate desk, but his cards down, and walked away from the gate. I guess he was as frustrated as I was.

After boarding two hours late, we waited on the tarmac, after pushing back from the gate, for almost an hour. At my destination airport, I had a connecting (but separately-bought) flight that was three hours after my PAL landing time. As a back-up, I bought a $95 ticket just in case. It was a good call because Plane Always Late Airlines lived up to its name. And, of course, there is never any accountability. Stupid, stupid shit!

It!I am just home, having flown on a number of airlines. I still have awful memories of PAL from years ago, of some born again fascist flight attendant hitting everyone for excess baggage. Issues like plane boarding have been done to death in queueing theory and, though there may be no perfect ways to board, there are plenty of lousy ones and PAL is not alone in the dunce's corner.

Can anyone tell me why most tannoys in airports and on planes are lousy. I was on a European plane today where the tannoy was 10/10. Such a change.

I pay a bit extra for an aisle seat due to a recent leg operation a few years ago. And when you want to claim your rightful seat, you just get a blank stare when you point out the seat number on your boarding pass. And don't get me started on the overhead baggage formalities.

Last year on a PA flight out of Brisbane to MNL, I assumed my usual aisle seat and an overly obese, loud Australian took the middle seat between me and the lady by the window.

I'm thinking, 'Fuck! Not eight hours of this!

Thankfully the FA observed the situation and offered me the choice of a spare aisle seat further up the front before take-off.

I just felt sorry for that poor girl who had to endure an international flight in the same row as that guy.

Having said that, aircraft etiquette is pretty poor around the world these days, generally due to selfishness and a lack of respect for fellow passengers _ Phil.

You might want extra legroom and opt to pay more for row 1 or the other exit rows (which is what I do). I fly specifically only aisle and extended legroom, and pay extra for that (and early boarding). Nobody gets to eff with that.

I left Angeles this morning on the 7:30 P2 P for NAIA Terminal 3. I had a 12:15 flight to Leyte and my girl in Manila was meeting me at the airport. I arrived at NAIA at 9 am. Security thinks I have a lighter and told me they are not permitted. I told them joke's on them because it is actually a device for insect bites. My girl had brought Soju and of course that was rejected. I hate when countries copy the bullshit USA rules.

So we come into this small ass airport lounge where the AC is not working and sit until the screen shows our gate, which was boarding time. We leave out and walk to the last damn gate. There are a few passengers sitting around, but no workers and the flight was not on the sign. I told my girl that we had better make sure the gate had not changed. So I asked some people at the next gate to look it up for us. Well now we are not leaving until 2:23 pm because the plane is coming in late from Boracay.

Mind you, I am asking all the questions, but the lady is looking at my girl answering what I am asking. My girl got in her shit. She told her that she should be looking at and talking to me since I am the one asking the questions.

Same shit happened at a restaurant in Colombia a few weeks back with my girl there. But then it was me jumping in the waitress' ass. My girl there thought I was being rude. I said no, it is rude for a person to look at and talk to a person other than the one addressing them who is not even paying the fucking bill. She went on with this thing about the husband usually being busy, so they will address the wife because she knows how he likes things.

So anyway we have to walk all the way back to this hot ass lounge that has nothing but beef stew and warm sodas. The screen in the lounge still says 12:15. Then once we get to Leyte, there is a 4 hour ride, so it will be dark by the time we get where we are going. Day 1 wasted!

I always book business regardless of domestic or international.The only real upside for domestic flights, on either airline with economy-only seating, is to pay more for exit row seats (extra legroom) and / or early boarding. None of the seats recline. As a PSA, if you are age 60 or more, you can not reserve an exit row seat on either airline (the system won't allow it). You might get lucky with that by not reserving any seat, and taking your chance at the random seat assignment at check-in by asking for exit row preference. In my experience those exit row seats get pre-purchased weeks before flight date.

I think both airlines now offer online pre-purchase of a meal, about p250. Its a sandwich or wrap and a bottle of water.

It's surprising how airlines think sometimes. It's not always for ridiculous things. Sometimes they actually do people a solid. I flew Korean once and all parents with kids were herded together and upgraded. More room for the kids and no one is going to complain about the noise or crying. 😁.

I have till the end of August, that's more than six months, but apparently the AI on the apps and website calculates just by the month, and simply don't let you fill up the expiration date, and you can't continue, the error message is that you need a passport valid for at least 6 months. Can't you renew your American passport in the Manila USA Embassy? Or USA Consulate office in Zcebu?Yes, there are a million workarounds, and now I'm booking the flights using an 2024 expired filipino ID card, because on that they don't ask the expiration. Anyone know this UK based travel agency? They offer too good to be true flights to the Philippines with estabushed airlines.You do not know what they offer until it is checkout time. I went to a site the other day that was like a Thai airline site but had that name to make you think it was the particular airline's website. The price was better until I got to the checkout part and they added a $152 fee for themselves. I think there is a Philippines website the same way. Cebupacific when the actual airline's site is cebupacificair. I was on thaivietair, but the real one is thaivietjetair or whatever.

I think I am getting too old for that. I stayed in Balibago and commando style break ins are a way of life there. There are guys scouting all the time. Foreigners live in caged houses but the motorbike guys are swanning around all the time, watching and waiting. Trust your gut = give all these palces a miss, stay in the West, or at least those parts of the West were you don't get executed for a fistfull of pesos.

Youtube is good in that it gives you recommendations on your prior views. In my case, that means all these horror stories of penniless foreigners in the Philippines. At my age, it is very hard to see how relocating there could be worth the candle.

There was suddenly a scroll bar on the bottom, forcing me to scroll right to see the entirety of what the members posted. This only showed in the Gen Info. I tried turning on / off the VPN and re-trying. Also I tried 2 different browsers, and tried while logged in and also off. Nothing worked to stop this. Now a few hours later it seems fine.

I generally make a point of conversing in whatever Tagalog I can and try and keep the conversation local and referring to simple terms like "I'm just going to the CR".

It's surprising how many girls appreciate you've made the effort, as opposed to many fly-in fly-out tourists who just land in The Phils and expect sex on tap without having to take in any local references during their time there.

Quite often in a store I've offered a simple Salamat / Thank you.

And the girls have said, 'Do you speak Tagalog?

Naturally I say, "Kaunti" (a little) but it breaks the ice and has worked out well to gain some really good contacts.

To the newer members, my advice is, to learn a few Tagalog lines before you arrive and it will make a big difference with the locals from my experience. And don't be afraid if your pronunciation is crap. They'll like the fact you're making an effort _ Phil.Pretty much all Asian countries have their own slang and abbreviations. We can add that people often interweave several languages into the same sentence: maybe a combination of the national language, a local dialect or two and even some fucked up anglo styled Spanglish words. Then we complicate things even further by adding in our foreign accents. I've had many times where I've technically said the correct words but still been totally mis understood because of my thick accent.

It's not uncommon for girls to choose a language based upon who they want to understand or not. Speak Tagalog?? The girls will magically decide to use Bisaya etc.

Despite all this, you are right that learning a few words can make all the difference in breaking down barriers and being accepted

The first story is not your usual Filipinos doing stupid shit but a foreigner doing stupid shit.

I am a regular at a local restaurant, perhaps a couple times a week for the last couple of years. As is common there is a tip jar. About half the time I see a US $2 bill in the jar. Not the same pristine bill but in various stages if wear, different every time.

No I don't know if a $2 bill is common anywhere in the US, I have never seen one there and have been in about half the states.

This guy has tipped the local staff with an uncommon bill in his home country, foreign bill in small denomination, used, some were in bad condition all were at least folded, I have not noticed one pristine enough for money changers.

He must have gone out of his way to have a supply of them here, not realizing that will be just about useless here. I would be surprised if any bank or money changer will accept them.

Now back to our regular theme, locals doing stupid shit.

My local community put up sign saying a 200 peso fine for public urination. I first noticed them when a guy was pissing against the sign post.

Used to be married to an asian, they are crazy about the 2 $ bills, she always got a fresh supply from the bank when going home to asia (not PH). I think because they are rare are considered lucky. My absolute congratulations to anyone who's spent more than the two hours I have tonight trying to navigate and get some answers to a fairly simple question regarding a Cebu Pacific flight.

I'd booked back in September last year to take my Sabang contact with me to Boracay next month for a five days out of the scene.

She now can't make it due to serious family commitments.

So I have another Cavitie contact who'd love to go. And she's still got a little bit of hair on it, which seems to be rare these days.

Anyway, the f*cking around with some online chat agent after being 140th in the queue initially, was almost infuriating.

I realize that the initial seat I purchased for the Sabang girl couldn't be transferred into another name, but I just wanted to know, that if I bought a second ticket for the substitute girl, if she could sit next to me in the now vacant seat I'd already previously purchased. (The girl's never flown before and is shit-scared at the thought of sitting with strangers or on her own).

I also have to be a little careful that she doesn't know she's the back-up plan.

Well, what a shit-fight. Not possible it seems. I had to cancel the original 'guest' then book a seat for the new 'guest' and then choose the seat, which was unavailable as I'd already booked it.

I know it's just not the Phils, but surely these big companies must soon realize that a simple phone call could have resolved things in ten minutes max by just saying yes or no, as opposed to a girl probably dealing with multiple chat sessions at once and taking ages to respond and sending through copy and pasted company policies in all her replies.

And I know CP is a budget airline, but not in this instance, and not when they hit you up for baggage charges, seat allocation, and try to slip in travel insurance fees and all the rest before payment.

Assuming the first tcket is not refundable, check in fro both and put babe 2 in beside you.

Your actual comlaint is a comon one with budget airlines, splititng up families and so on. It is part of their model to get folk to sit in particular seats. If it is any consolation to you, I once got a Ryanair window seat and had an oversize black woman (at least 200 kgs) take them iddle seat, which I thought was very unfair on me as I looked like a squashed tomato out of a cartoon.

I quickly learnt that if I can't get a problem sorted in a couple of clicks, then it's just not worth it. Simply walk away and amortised the lost $100 over the last few flights where I did save $$.

Have you tried moving your seat to a totally new area and then booking friend2 next to you. Obviously pick an area with no other pre-booked seats nearby.

ID agree with on costs. I use to travel with mountains of dive gear and would routinely pay multiples of the flight cost for excess baggage, sports goods etc. Want some fun at check-in?? Turn up with baby cylinders labeled 'OXYGEN' and await the chaos.

Thanks guys and I really appreciate your advice and input which I'd already put to them, but, yes, it was all about the procedure of trying to ask a simple question in the first place, followed by endless questions starting with. "Now let's get this straight. Do you want to. Blah, blah, blah.

A simple phone call would have given me an answer in under ten minutes and I would have known where I stood.

If we'd tried to re-book in different seats it would have cost me close to $800.00 as it's only a few weeks away.
