I'm going down there today to look for a place to stay, so I'll be living there and I figure I'll just start thread. I've only been there a couple of times, so this will be an adventure of sorts. Of course feel free to chime in with any info you might have.

My first impressions after a week:
Kampot has a lot of bars nowadays in a small area, a couple dozen but the quality is basically 6 and below. There are some cute girls but they are of course virgins. The bars work the same with lady drinks, barfines and payment for the lady. So if you're coming here because of the amenities, I'd advise grabbing a girl from Phnom Penh. There are other venues that I haven't checked out yet, but most likely if you don't know the language at least a little bit, those venues won't work for the average visitor. I haven't witnessed any heavy drug use actually, but I'm not into that stuff anyway. Overall, I'm enjoying my stay here and still plan on living here. I just want to emphasize that this is not a destination for mongering unless you want to lower your standards a lot. If however you can be satisfied with way below average girls, the prices are about half of Phnom Penh. I ended up banging the owner of the hotel I stayed at, but that was a fluke and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it.

I sampled a massage place, $20 full service but lady was 4. It was kinda nasty. As I was about to nut, I heard a local customer enter. Less than 10 minutes later we left at the same time, I don't think he removed his motorcycle helmet the whole time.
There is a steam & sauna place nearby that has a full size swimming pool. Massage with use of facility $8, full service massage another $20 with 6's and maybe a 7. The one I took twice was a cute 6 because she's 30 with a kid, but 8 in performance, very enthusiastic BBBJCIM.
I'm feeling better about my move to Kampot. Hardly any traffic to speak of and most of the roads are decent. I ride my bicycle during the daytime for the short trips. I have my motorcycle here now for longer trips and Grab rides are around a dollar for most of the rides. The two Moons Resort had a nice swimming pool for $1 and they have monthly rooms between $100 (no aircon) to $200. Most days a decent meal is around $5 if you pay just a little bit of attention to the specials.

......... I don't think he removed his motorcycle helmet the whole time........I'm still laughing thinking of a guy getting a massage, naked with the motorcycle helmet on.
I'm in Kep for one day only, do you have any pointers, because I can't find any Info on the place, old, or new.

Kep is dull even by the standards of people in Kampot. You are going to find zero there. Sorry to say all there is in Kep is overpriced small crabs. How did you like Sihanoukville?

Hello Monger1. Care to share the name / location of this full service massage place in Kampot? The girlie bars just are not doing it for me. Cheers.

How did you like Sihanoukville? You were right, nothing in Kep just old European tourists, mostly couples, and yes lots of crabs (I'm not into the seafood, only fish).
I will write a report on Sihanoukville about my dull experience soon. Basically, I stayed 4 days and was all dry, nothing looked like 15 years ago, a total Chinese induced wasteland. On my last night I found the part of town where the Titanic restaurant is, and it seemed to be alive, not like the beach area where I stayed, but it was too late to check it out, for mongering spots.
