Another thing I can add is: I live 2 hours away from Tijuana whether driving or on train / light rail so I've had my crazy nights. I am going to share some information for those who are planning to travel to Monterrey based on my experience.

1) Mobile (Internet) Connection.

If you are using roaming, which may be an extra cost, it is not a problem, but for those looking for a local mobile data service, you can buy a SIM Card in the airport terminal. I landed on terminal "be" as I used Delta Airline, and I found a mobile shop (I believe the name is MOBO) where I could buy a SIM card (around 100 peso). Be aware that that SIM only gives your the line and you still need to charge it. Unfortunately, they could not offer me the payment for the data charge although I could pay for the SIM card with my credit card. So, they asked me to go to the pharmacy on the same terminal, but there they could not help me as they could not accept payment with a credit card. I walk toward terminal A. Exit the terminal "be" on the right where you will find a lot of taxi drivers offering a ride, and head to terminal A. Just before arriving at terminal A, you should find a 7-eleven convenience store, and here you can ask them to charge your sim card. Just show the package which includes the number they need to charge your sim card. I asked for 100 pesos and still could be using it after 2 days. Of course it depends on how much you use.

On the 7-eleven, there is a counter for eating just before exit on your left, I here I switch my SIM. If you are new to this, and your mobile does not support automatic APN switch, please manually do that. I got a Telcel SIM and thus here is the information for setup if you need it. 2) Transportation.

Uber works with the same account I use in my place in North America. So, I just used my Uber app to move around in the city.

3) Payments.

Most of the restaurants can accept payment with credit card but some can't, so ask them before getting the service. If you still need some cash, and for that you better be prepared to Withdraw from an ATM. 4. 1) Tokyo Men Spa. Reforma 533 oriente, Treviño, 64570 Monterrey, and. L.

I decided to try this one first, as it was easy to see which girls were available from outside walking by. So relieved I was able to get back down here!

My first trip was May 2019 before "it all went down" then issues with negative COVID testing requirements kept me from traveling anywhere outside the USA. I could of taken the bus but getting to Laredo from DFW not efficient so I made a lot of trips to San Diego for Tijuana border crossings.

Not traveling here frequently enough I did not have any contacts for pleasure to my hotel other than escorts which my budget right now is just that budget mongering so the first day went back to where I finished in 2019 = Lindas Princesas and Cleops spas and I was not disappointed.

So, I haven't had much time lately to check out any new places. Got in late Sunday and was staying at the Sheraton downtown. Walked out to smoke and wandered down the alley behind the hotel and ran into a place with a bunch of chicas luring people into a club. Bunker Segunda Piso.

These are the things I learned. Nothing here for regular visitors, but may help a newcomer. I am pretty regular to Bogota and I like it there a lot, but did not have enough time to make that trip. Thanks especially to CenTex for your helpful MTY posts.

Airport. Arrived Terminal A in afternoon. Customs was a breeze, less than 60 seconds. No questions, just Bienvenidos a Monterrey. If you get a taxi, you buy your ticket at a kiosk in the terminal. It makes you choose a company and of course I have no knowledge of any of them The chart showed a charge of 500 p to my zone, but somehow I pushed a wrong button and was charged 750. Next you go outside and find the sign for your particular company. I was only 4th in line, but it took TPA company a full 30 minutes to get to me. On the way out, to the right was a 7-11. Very walkable and people were clearly meeting Uber there. I will do that next time. Security on the way back was just as quick. I was thru customs and security in 5 minutes. I arrived almost 3 hours early (I am used to Bogota lines) but 90 minutes would have been plenty. The airport was clean and not very crowded.

Hotel. Stayed at Plaza Arteaga. Charge was a total of 109 for 2 nights in a King Suite. The hotel is very clean and modern, I put it on par with Spring Hill or Hyatt House. My room was set up more for short term, meaning no closet, no refrigerator, no safe. I did not ask if they were all that way, but it was not a problem for me. Plenty of hot water, good TV with lots of stations. They have a small restaurant. I ate one breakfast there. It was fine, charge was about 120 p. The road in front is a common bus route, so lots of traffic, but the room was super quiet. There is a OXXO a block or two away for drinks and snacks. A sign in the room says the water is not potable. Clientele was a mix of families and couples, no obvious escorts showing up in the lobby. On Saturday night there were a fair number of local couples arriving for a stay. Short term or for the night, I do not know. I may return here or may try 500 next time.

Area. Its the center of a large city so very busy, lot of people about, traffic galore, plenty of trash on the sidewalks and streets. Occasionally some vomit and dog manure. I like to walk and am comfortable with all of this. Its how I find out what's around me. Stores, restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. I needed a new phone charger, so went looking but lots of places close early on Saturday. Ended up on Pino Suarez St. 4 blocks east and 2-3 blocks north of the hotel. Little stores and shops almost like a flea market selling everything. Hats, boots, shoes, team jerseys, candy, phone accessories, etc. Likely all knock offs, but very cheap. A baseball hat I bought was 100 p without bargaining.

Day 2 - Walked about 4 blocks to Fastory for breakfast. It's attached to the Fasto Hotel across the street from the main bus station. Lots of foot traffic, but they have security at the front to keep things clear for customers. Inside is clean and spacious and the food is good. Eggs, bacon, tortillas, and orange juice was 120 p. It's Latin America, so your bill isn't coming until you ask for it. Back to the hotel for a short break.

Samaras decided to walk off breakfast getting there. It's about a mile, so took a bit of time. There are quite a few abandoned buildings and plenty of trash on the street getting here. A bit rougher, but no people hanging around either. Somebody was leaving as I arrived, so no buzz in required. I arrived about noon and there were only two girls available. Both chubbier than I would normally pick, but both had pretty faces and very friendly. Options were 25 min / 600 p, 45 min / 800 p, 60 min / 1000 p. Chose Laura and 25 min. Day 3 and observations of my trip 12/10 – 12/12.

Third day was only breakfast at Plaza, finish packing and to airport. Uber was 340 p. I made this trip because I had a very small window to travel. As much as I enjoy Bogota, a lot of time gets eaten by flight times available, length of flights and customs / security. I always lose a full day and I could not make it work this time.

General thoughts. I enjoyed this trip and found it easy to navigate the small area of the city I was in. Will surely return and explore more. Did not feel like drinking much this trip, so did not go to Matehuala, Cielo, or any other clubs. That will happen next time. I only encountered three people that spoke any level of English. However, everybody was friendly and patient with me. I realize that I was in Centro and it may be more prevalent in San Pedro or other areas. It wasn't a big problem for me.

Pros – Very easy trip. Flight for me was 1 hour 15 minutes – I know that's not true for all. No hassles at the airport – easiest customs ever. Plenty of flight times available, so can leave am And still get in an afternoon and a night on arrival. People were as friendly and helpful as could be. Uber was cheap and timely. The places I went were very clean, comfortable and straight forward. Girls were young, attractive, and service was excellent. All good experiences. I would recommend visiting MTY.

Cons – Less variety of places, and no Paisas or Vennies! At least not where I went. Sorry, DramaFree, but many of us love them. In 9 trips and about 25 girls in Colombia, I've never been with a fat one, an obvious druggie, or one full of silicone. They are easily avoidable. That's not much on the con side, so Monterrey is in my rotation. Glad I went.

Osiris – It's a pretty quiet neighborhood, I don't think there would be a hotel in walking distance. Pressed the bell and they opened up. They handed me a menu in Spanish with prices and times. I was hungry so took an uber to Ragnarok at Diego de Montemayor 402. Ragnarok is a killer Viking restaurant with great food and awesome vibe. Then it was off to my 1st chica. I went to Depa 1, Calle Mariano Arista 204 and paid $550 pesos for the ride plus $200 pesos for a BJ with no condom. I chose Sofia, a super cute thin 23 year old who was a true performer. Certainly some great values to be had! MTY great for those that live in TX within closer driving distance to Nuevo Laredo so can take the bus or fly from major TX airports. However if I lived in Californication (NOT) Tijuana much more economical to travel to and if on the East coast so many direct flights to San Jose C.R., Dominican Republic, Colombia etc.

MTY hardly even on the radar for Californicators and East Coasters which is great for us Tejanos (Mexican y Gringos)!

Thank you Centex. I believe I was somewhat clipped at Cleops last Nov even though my sessions were great. I was very tired from my then current job and upcoming move preparations so went to the most 'efficient' place my time could afford. I'm going to Monterrey this weekend (Saturday and leaving Monday). This is my first time mongering in Monterrey. I've been to Tijuana plenty of times and wanted to try something new, plus I live near Houston so it's closer. I've been doing research but the info is pretty sparse compared to Tijuana and other popular places. So I have a couple of questions but first I'll explain the plans I made with the information I've gathered so far.

Firstly I'm staying at the Sheraton Ambassador. In the past, they said it was chica friendly but that was years ago so any new info you guys have will help. My flight arrives at around 10 am I plan on exploring the city and eating at Ragnorok since I've heard others talk positively about it. I asked the hotel if I could check in early, about 1 pm, so hopefully, that kills enough time. If not I plan on checking out either Tokyo, Osiris, or one of the Depas. Is Sedducion Spa still open? I wanted to know if Samsara (not Samara) is a full-service massage place because I'm still not sure. Also, any other massage and casa de citas recommendations would be great.

Afterward, I plan on going to Matehuala. There are other clubs I'm going to check out but the first is Matehuala just because of everything I've heard about it. My curiosity makes me want to see the basement. I know Cielo is owned by the same people so I might make a stop there too since it's the same setup but upstairs. By the way, I assume Infinito is closed. Google doesn't say anything about it. Possible adjustments:

2. Rent smaller less expensive day room or love motel close to the action to take breaks between MP & SG sessions and not back and forth to my nice hotel in safe area for nighttime dining and beers.

3. NOT ever fly AA again from Austin down here. Nearly mis-connected in DFW and today my return flight leaving MTY one hour late so far as I write this so good chance I will mis-connect upon my return screwing up my return to work tomorrow AM. I had points to use so chose AA however there are a couple more options from Austin. Spirit just started non-stops from Austin to MTY however they are a risk due to their reliability and limited flights per day however Volaris may be that middle ground.

Took a weekender down to Monterrey this past week, and really had a great time. Thanks to everyone for all the outstanding reports in this forum. Many were very helpful to me as I planned my adventure.

Hotel 500 was sold out so went with Plaza Arteaga in a pinch, place appears GF.

I understand what you are saying CTX. This past May was only my 3rd trip (my first was before COVID May 2019 with my 2nd last Nov.) and was kinda 'meh'. I wrote my trip report about a couple negative experiences I had this past May there. Tijuana very much going this way too where they try to clip you at every level of the transaction / supply chain and SGs asking way more than I ever encountered. The exchange rate surely not helping.

I was going to make a business trip to Monterrey in one day but some helpful tips from the Master Juan Carter tempted me to extend it two nights so I'the have a whole day to check out the scene. But doing that on a weekend and without doing any homework wasn't good planning.

The area around the Central de Autobuses is where you'd find a lot of love hotels all low class bottoming out with Hotel Posada advertising 1 hour for 80 pesos maybe more if you want clean sheets. Sidewalks are broken up and dirty. There's a bunch of grungy cantinas and I think I remember visiting the Matehuala Men's Club 20 years ago and never again! Rip off strip clubs not my scene. Saw a lot of Haitians built like telephone poles on the streets. 7/11 store looked like it has been hit by looters. Dead rat in the gutter. Weather was hot as hell. Talked to one cab driver at bus station asking if there was a zona tolerencia he said we were standing in it. Middle of it all is a clean first class coffee shop Tim Hortons.

Ended up staying two nights at the Hotel LOS Arcos a decent place right on the edge of the zone with air conditioning. The two young girls on the reception desk were drop dead gorgeous and I had a great time flirting them up. Kidded them about how their hotel was the only one without bulletproof glass or advertising rooms by the hour. Spent some time in the lobby where the WiFi was good and when it was just two of us she came out from behind the desk and sat down with me to talk. If I'd pushed a little harder I might've closed the deal but she wasn't going to P4 P where she worked and I didn't like any of the other places I'd seen nearby. Besides her mother picks her up at the end of her shift. She's obviously interested in the trade for the $$$ and comfortable asking me about it. Showed her blogdebusti.com. Never went outside to check out the street action after dark because it didn't feel safe. A lot of bad vibes.

Checked out the Hotel Hacienda reported to be sex worker central. The lobby had all the seats blocked off, so no talent was hanging out there. The guy in the lobby wanted me to pay for a room then he'd send a girl up but I declined that because I didn't feel safe being in that neighborhood after dark. Also didn't trust what kind of girl he might send. One who walked by wasn't doable. He held the door open for me when I left and put out his hand for a tip. I stood around for awhile pretending to use my phone. Saw three more girls pass by but none I'd want to approach. I tried texting a couple of numbers suggested by JC but no response. Maybe they didn't like my out of town number or just bad timing into the weekend.

Downtown Monterrey is a lot more upscale but no obvious mongering activity going on there but maybe if you got lots of cash to throw around the door man at one of the expensive hotels could help out. Bottom line is that Monterrey must have a mongering scene but it'd take several visits to get a handle on it. Not something a short term visitor is going to have much luck with.

Overall enjoyed exploring the city and had some excellent cabrito.

Visited Tijuana several times in recent years & might try Monterrey later this year.

I generally prefer to go to clubs or bars or street girls. I don't really like setups where you have to pick quickly from a lineup or have someone not seen in person come to you.

Are there any hotels right near some of the bigger strip clubs? How is uber / lyft / taxis in the area?

How is uber / lyft / taxis in the area?Matehuala Mens Club, El Cielo Cabaret, Masajes Cleops all in a raty neighborhood I described in my last post. I did a day time walk by last week. In CDMX I go out at night even on Tlalpan, but this part of Monterrey really has a bad vibe after dark and I stayed away. I used the Arcos hotel near the Independence Arch. Decent price, good A/C. Skip the free breakfast.

Taxis no problem. My first was from the Central Autobuses where you prepay for a chit so the driver doesn't rip you on the fare. After that I flagged cabs on the street and they all charged reasonable rates and never had trouble finding one. One driver warned me away from the strip clubs, mentioned a house I didn't have time to checkout.
