View Full Version : Backend database problem
Not really sure where to put this, but over the last few days it seems like most of the time the site is inaccessible. Anything past the age verification screen gets the database error page, And looking at the small number of new posts, I bet lots of other people are having the same problem.

So were you.
Yes. It seems to be more offline than online.I am experiencing the same thing!
Things seem to be better now. Maybe someone paid the bill.

I thought it might be gone for good. Something is going on, or was going on, and it might be interesting to know. This has happened on the site before, although it's been years since it was this bad. Had something to do with the server I think. But you raise a reality in that we can't assume this forum will be here forever. There have been many others in various formats that are no longer functioning. Only to be replaced by others, particularly as technology advances.
Also something else that's been bothering me for years is why they Jackson doesn't bother to secure the site with an SSL cert. This is very basic security. FYI to anyone out there that if you are accessing the site from a public wifi spot, anyone else on the wifi network can see your password being sent to ISG.

Greetings Everyone,
First, there is no "backend database problem".
The server was the subject of a DDoS attack, nothing more.
My server admin successfully thwarted the attack. Everything is back to normal.
The server itself performed remarkably well considering it was at times being slammed by 25,000+ bots.
Nevertheless, I take exception to speculation that this forum, which I have kept going for more than 25 years, is somehow teetering on the edge of its demise and might suddenly disappear.
FYI, the forum's data is regularly backed up to multiple remote locations. Worst case scenario, should there be some sort of cataclysmic event that completely destroys the data on the server, we would be back online with a new server, with the entire database intact, within a few hours.
Therefor, I would appreciate if the forum's most senior members would refrain from posting conjectures that serve only to deter other members from buying a subscription, which is the source of funds that actually pays for the website server, the firewall server, the server admin, the moderators, the domain names, etc.
Admin.
P.S.: FYI we don't post notices about these occasional attacks because we don't want the attackers to titillate themselves into believing that they're actually having an effect. In other words, we don't want to feed the trolls. For that reason, this thread will be deleted within 48 hours.

And I must clarify to say that I in no way meant to imply that the site is teetering on the edge of its demise.
Just so the admin knows, the reason why I started the thread in the first place was to report the problem.

...Thank you for detailed clarification. It was very annoying last couple of days to experience the issue, but glad your team is more than capable and handled it quickly.

The site seems to be up running a lot better now. Been a bit of a problem for a few days. I see the usa sexguide site still having a few problems logging on.

Feminist women want to end this site. They are not tech savvy enough to ddos. Also sex work empowers women, provides a way to reverse the wage gap.

Will the USA site be back up eventually? TIA.There has been a few problems logging on for a few weeks now, bad getaway 502 error code. When you log on in https you get this error. When you change it to http you can get online. But depends how you log in. I can't get online using edge or duck duck, but can get online using chrome, Others have said try using firefox. Try a few and one will allow you to get in ok. It seems to be a problem on the site not yourself.
I live in the US and have been unable to access the usasg site for over two weeks. I have tried Chrome, Firefox, Safari and DuckDuckGo. All of them return the "502 Bad Gateway Angie" message. I have also tried several different VPNs with different gateways around the world, different times during the day, still no luck. I know this is a problem for many others, as there are some Reddit threads where other users are reporting the same thing. If this is a DDoS attack, it has been going on for a long time. And unlike the previous poster, using http: vs https: makes no difference.
I appreciate the Admin working on this, and I hope it gets resolved soon.

I am a lame person and since 2013, when my punting started in Nuevo Laredo on the Texas Mex border (and since have spread my reign of terror to all six continents), instead of typing the URL in the address bar, I go incognito mode open search and type "Bbond" laredo and ISG is the first result. (Without the quotes around Bbond I get results for bail bonds in Webb County TX).
Shoutout to ISGer Bbond for an easy to memorize username. And more so for valid Mex border hobby too.
Using this method, ISG's Nuevo Laredo page was the first result.
Last week first result was ECCIE, with ISG at second. I'm not sure of ECCIE's relation to ISG if they're affiliated or users willingly contribute to both sites or if they're leech cloning text verbatim idk.
Today I did my thing type "Bbond" laredo and ISG was nowhere to be found on top page. I caved and added two words: sex guide and wham there was ISG. Seeing all these recent reports about accessing intel within USA borders and putting two and two together.
Here is what has worked for me to stop getting the "502 Bad Gateway Angie" page when trying to access usasexguide.nl. The problem is that the site does not support https, and you have to change a browser setting to force it to allow http: even though it is "unsafe".
On Chrome, type this in the URL bar.
chrome:flags/#unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure
Then click to "enable" this. Open a new tab and type in the site using http: I found that in incognito mode, it would still sometimes try to change what I had typed to https:, but when I removed the "s" and pressed enter, then it would take me to the site.
On DuckDuckGo, you have to first go to the site and you will get the 502 message. At the very left of the URL bar, there is a shield icon. Click on it, and where it says "Protections are ON for this site", click the toggle to turn it off. Then remove the "s" from https: and try it again.
I'm sure you can do this on Safari and Edge as well, but I didn't bother to research it since I'm fine with using Chrome or DDG.
