had my third trip to d. r last week for six days.

1. got to santiago at an ungodly 2. 00 am or so, thanks to a jetblue flight. had some qualms about hitting the road at that hour and in fact the dominican traveler next to me on flight told me, he too will stake it out at the airport until the first rays of el sol. so went and hung about the eating place at the airport. the area has internet which was a serious blessing. i also chatted up a woman serving food, while had a beer and a day old empan ada at that wee hour. i got her phone number too but she was married and was not too keen on taking chances. the best thing was that she told me the way she travels to the airport. being the cheapskate that i am, i hate to pay the 700 pesos i had to pay last time for a short ride to town. i found out from her that a carro publico (forget the number. p-a?) plies between the airport and the city center for "20" pesos. of course with other six people in a toyota corolla. so at 6. 00 am when i could not take it any longer, i ventured out and caught this carro, with no passenger yet, just outside the airport gate. put my small bag in the trunk and the driver babbled something in his domenican, most of which i did not catch. except that he will have to do a detour. i said fine, that i was in no hurry. so he takes off and soon we are in "campo". banana plantation and dirt road. just a little while back, i was like. wow. i like this adventure in the madrugada. but suddenly, i was getting a little frazzled. where the h. this guy is taking me? you could see guys walking their cows to somewhere through the early morning light and then the driver comes and stops in front of a small house and hollers. a woman responds. and then we wait as he kills the engine. slowly, with probing, i find out he picks up these people from the boondocks and takes them to where they work in town. soon the car had three women (old and older.) in the back. they were all courteous. all saying 'buen dia' as they boarded. i paid the guy for me and the in-existent passenger on the front seat plus an extra for my luggage (a princely sum of 100 pesos) and he would later deliver me direct in front of the hotel where i was destined (go figure. it was a route taxi). by the time i was dropped at the hotel, i was the lone passenger again. the driver happily yakking about his second marriage in his fluent dominican. and i straining my ears to catch all the missing 's's to make some sense. it was fun!

2. soon, around 10. 00 am my first visitor showed up. i came to know her last trip but did not 'consummate'. this time, finally! i had a lot of tension which got released in two separate go-es. god, that was good and then she took off, with the deal she would show up the next morning. the high schools here start at 600 pm – what a good thing! (smiley). that night was uneventful and i needed the sleep not having slept a wink the night before.

3. the second morning was equally pleasant. with the same 19 yr old high school-er. the evening got me a little upset though. met a woman around the monument and restaurants there are pricey but after some good food, it ended up with nothing. not even a promise! f. k!

4. the third night, met a girl who turned out to be beautiful (for my taste). had a great sunny smile and wonderfully attractive breasts that domenican women are not shy to flaunt! but because of rain, she came very late and so we had to go to look for food elsewhere. in what i thought was a fancy place while i was looking for simple domenican food – white rice, habichuela, and meat. what struck me was that the girl chose some real simple and not-pricey food unlike the woman the night before. i started to take an interest in her. there was a plan to go to dance but it was late for her so let her go but first she came to the hotel to try out a gift i had for her. unfortunately, she made a dash soon after. next day, she texted that she does not want to come to the hotel room. and. in the evening she was in my room and we spent at least an hour chatting and drinking bailey's i had bought exclusively for her. before heading out to ahi. i had a most enjoyable time there. first at the bar, kissing this young college woman in public with her coyly warming up ( (thanks to the dominican tradition, reminded me almost of my f. ing native india, where no one shows any affection in public) and later in the dance hall. where in the classic dominican style, the women dance the reggaeton, grinding against their menfolk's crotch which apparently is just, well, fine. go figure! i already described my ride back with her in a taxicab in another forum. she in the darkness of the cab, relaxed allowing me to enjoy kissing as i sucked on her delectable tongue.

5. the fourth day, i realized that i was tense again and not having any option during the day, took the help of p4p. by the time the night came, i was at the las colinas mall, waiting for another large breasted woman, who came from la vega. this girl had already made me promise that i would not take her to the hotel. so we ate, drank at the top floor and went for a dominican movie a typical 20 year old woman (or man) would enjoy. you know, the 'inane' ha-ha stuff! she had to go back to work to her town (but she had a cop father in santiago who was keeping her daughter.) the next morning so i did not have much to hope for but halfway during the movie, she got a call about the child so she left in a huff. she texted me the morning after: 'sabes estaba loca por probar tus labio q me regalaras un beso pero como no melo pediste why me daba verguensa desirtelo' all in its sweet time baby as i acted the perfect debonair!

6. i packed my bag for puerto plata the next morning as a young woman was coming to see me there for a day traveling four hours. on the bus i met a bunch of girls and a guy who are from my neck of the woods. it was nice to be able to chat with someone in an intelligible language again. they were all college kids, doing internship in santiago at the catholic university.

7. the girl in samana turned out to be a beautiful experience. she came for a day but had to stretch her stay for one more day because of a strike and was worried stiff that her mother would be upset as she had spun a yarn. she too was so shy that i laughed my heart out. she would have no trouble doing a fellatio but you could not shake her out of the towel she wrapped herself in. only by the second night, she had grudgingly agreed to sleep in the nude under the sheets, though. she took me to the local dominican restaurant. for 250 pesos we had a great meal including beer. she tried the bikini i brought her and her large breasts were beautifully overflowing. she then went for a swim, i did not feel like. so she was frolicking all alone in the water waving at me. i was looking at the beautiful blue color of water as the sun slowly peeked through the clouds, and looked at this marvelous young lass – brimming with energy and a song from india slowly formed on my lips, written in the classical omar khayam couplet style by a muslim indian poet:

' o giver of all things, give me the boundless energy of the waves,

and, just for once, give me my youth back'

'even if you were to fill the goblet with nothing but water

i swear on your youth my pretty bar tender, that i will get tipsy'

and my eyes fogged up. when she came out of the water, she noticed my eyes were red and asked me why; how can you explain to an 18 year old, what went through my mind?

the rest was a blur.

a lovely report, tempo, and i loved your poem.

it brought to mind the great rumi poem "the caravan" which so beautifully reminds me that each day is new and life is a tabula rasa on which we may write a beautiful beginning.

perhaps you know it? if not, please indulge me to gift you and this great dr board:

come, come, whoever you are,

wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.

ours is not a caravan of despair.

even if you have broken your vow a thousand times before,

it doesn't matter. come, come yet again, come.

Excellent post. Sounds like you had a great time. Hope she did not get into trouble with mother.Nice that you wondered. The day she left, she told me she will come clean with her mom and I wholeheartedly supported that action plan. She wrote me later that things were fine. She had carried a chocolate cake and a bottle of cider I had bought for her (so her mom could share).

No rush for K. Cannot exactly do anything remotely.

BTW, enjoyed your pingpong repostes but not sure if it will get across. Calls for some gray matter (smiley).

Just book a room there for a couple of nights. Has anyone been there? Is it close to monument and the bars and clubs? Is it nice? Etc. ThanksHotel Aloha Sol, http://www.alohasol.com/, chica friendly, about $50US per night (BoricuaOnline has stayed there). It is on calle de sol, a main street in the old part of santiago, numerous stores and places to eat located nearby. The monument is about 6 blocks up calle de sol from the aloha sol hotel. Calle de sol is a one way street, walk in the same direction as the vehicular traffic up the hill and you will see the monument. Between the aloha sol hotel and the monument, about 4 blocks from aloha sol hotel is Tette Bar. Facing the monument is the Matum Hotel and Casino, which I have been told has a disco. Puerto de Sol restaurant is another venue that I saw crowded late one night (faces the monument). On the street behind Kuka Makara and Montezuma (Bar / Restaurant) is a street with several bars. Ahi Bar is popular.

Hope this helps. Thanks, good to know. In the past I was told Aloha Sol was chica friendly with no extra guest fee (I have not stayed at the aloha sol).

1/2 block from the Aloha Sol is the Hodelpa Centro Plaza Hotel. I have stayed at the Centro Plaza and entered with guests without a problem. Price of the Centro Plaza is about $100 per night, free wifi, free breakfast buffet. If you stay at the centro plaza you can use the pool at the hodelpa el gran almirante hotel.

Alberto Suites, Hotel Platino are other options in Santiago. Alberto Suites seems it is about 5 blocks from the monument, price I have read is in the $50US range (I have not stayed there). Hotel Platino was chica friendly the one time I stayed there, I paid about $65US, it is not really close to the monument, it is across the street from a large University.

eddybudget rents sports cars, i've seen bmw's for rent by them. also, on craigslist, i've seen ads for people renting higher end sports cars. i wouldn't suggest it as the city roads are not that great and every block has a speed bump or two. the highways are not bad and i've never been stopped for speeding, i regularly do over 100mph on the highways.

I rented the car at Puerto Plata airport. Hint, pay the insurance or make sure your credit card will cover you. I have seen countless accidents in the DR. The worst was seeing this guy's guts on the road.

With all the free ranging cattle, goats, and people on motorbikes, you ought to have 2nd thoughts about racing 100 mph here. Ever see a car where a steer came through the windshield, it ain't pretty. It happens a lot here. Not kidding! I was on the way to San Juan de la Maguana one night at about 65 and damn near hit a motoconcho that had zero lights; no front, no back! Right in the middle of the lane- not to the side like he would have been if he'd had any sense.

This same thing happened to a friend who is a naturalized american, born here in the DR, but is 'rich' because' she is a gringa. She opened the door to her Jeepeta, the dude drove into her door, he had no lights front or back. The chico tumbled on to the roadway and another car hit him. With a broken arm and lacerations the other driver threw him into the truck of his car and drove the injured to a hospital. The cops arrested my friend and threw her in the slammer until she came up with 200, 000 pesos. She had to settle with the guy who was injured for his broken arm and short hospital stay. Count yourself lucky you did not hit the guy on the bike.

Extremely useful in deciding whether it is worthwhile and then who gets to sue whom. Equally valid in our litigious US.

Hey guys,

How much is the bus ride from.

Santiago to Puerto Plata and where do I catch the bus.

Or would it be easier renting a car and going to puerto plata. There are three bus companies that go from Santiago to Puerto Plata. Fare is about 120 pesos (US$3) one way. Which one you take might depend exactly to where in Pto Pta you want to go and from where in Santiago you are starting.

Javilla Tours terminus is on the Northern edge of the city. Their buses are basic, local style, and stop at every village en route or anywhere else on demand. Don't use if you are in a hurry or want comfort or have luggage. Do use if you are traveling light, it is not a hot day, and you want to experience a bit of local color. Riding Javilla Tours I have had an infant dumped in my lap to look after and, very briefly, a cage of chickens. At the Pto Pta end they go as far as the Hospital (where you could change to a publico if travelling on towards Field of Dreams or Sosua) , then circle back through the town to their depot at La Javilla. One advantage of this bus is, if going to Blackbeards, they will stop at the entrance to Costambar on demand.

Caribe Tours use modern, air-conditioned buses (often very cold inside so take a sweater). They have two termini in Santiago. One at Las Jardinas on the SE side of the city and one at Las Colinas on the Northern edge. At the Pto Pta end they have a terminus in the city not far from La Javilla. The same bus then continues after a 20 minute wait to Los Charamicos. They won't stop anywhere on demand.

Metro also use modern, air-conditioned buses (also very cold inside so take a sweater). They have a terminus in Santiago at Las Jardinas and another in Pto Pta on Calle Beller inland from La Sirena. Their buses continue on to Sosua. They have the advantage of finishing in El Batey in Sosua rather than in Los Charamicos. They won't stop anywhere on demand.

Don't rent a car unless you really need one to get to otherwise inaccessible places. Public transport in the DR is very cheap.

However taxi drivers have a book of a couple of hundred pages regarding the laws of driving in the DR, so there must be something in there, though I have not looked through the book. But if you are right, then what happens when it is not clear who has most money, or when both are equally rich or poor?

Hey guys,

I am headed to DR for the first time in late February (the 24th-27th). I am planning to hook up with a "friend" (and possibly make new ones). I have already purchased my flight with Jet Blue and reserved a room at the Hodelpa Centro Plaza. (its running me close to $400 for my stay.) *Deluxe room with all the trimmings / free breakfast*

However, I recently found a 3 bedroom. 2 bath vacation home on trip advisor for $80 a night ($240 total) and it is located four blocks away from the Hodelpa Centro Plaza. I have confirmation from the owner that there is internet, a fully stocked kitchen, and television available. I am very tempted to go for the house but I can't help but get this feeling that it's too good to be true. (No guarantee with security / safe, no cudela checks, etc.)

Should I listen to my gut or pick the clear choice in the vacation home?

Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated.Nice thing if you stay at the hodelpa centro plaza is that you can use the gym and the pool at the hodelpa el gran almirante hotel (el gran almirante hotel usually runs more than $150US per night) , there is also a massage place near the pool at the el gran almirante (outdoor pool on the third floor with a nice view of the mountains). If you book with Orbitz you could use promo code "dealpro10" to save 10% on the cost of a room on the orbitz webpage. Centro plaza has smoking rooms with balconies, if you are a smoker. The breakfast buffet is nice and free internet throughout the hotel.

You could reserve your first night at the centro plaza and then visit the home rental to see how it is and possibly switch over to that place. If the home rental place is no good, you could stay at the centro plaza or switch to the aloha sol (about $50US. 1/2 block from the centro plaza) , or switch to the Matum Hotel, or Alberto's Suites or Hotel Platino, these places are less expensive than the centro plaza.

I have had Santiago women meet me at Montezuma Bar, which sits in front of the Monument. Good service at Montezuma Bar, it is somewhat open-air layout, so you can sit at a table that faces the entrance and watch for your chica to arrive.

Some guys have posted they have luck at some car washes in Santiago, I have never visited a car wash in santiago. Ilusion and Casa Blanca, not sure if they have chicas available in the daytime.

If you stay at the Hodelpa you can use the pool and invite a friend to the pool.

If you are ok with drinking early in the afternoon, there's a colmado that plays music down the block from Ahi bar on the corner of Las Carreras and Tolentino (good for people watching). If you are feeling gritty, you can hang out around taxi & bus stand on Salvador Cucurullo. When you get hungry, they have great $RD120 lunches on the second floor of El Encontro and if looking for some cheap action, there's a chica bar down the block off of calle del sol, I think it's on Espana, left hand side before you hit that big street called Av. Circum. (sp?). You can hit Gold's Gym in Plaza Internacional. Or you can take a quick day trip on the Metro bus to Sosua for the beach and catch the last bus out of there about 6 or 7pm, I think.

To the OP,

Santiago is a working city so there's very little for a tourist to do since most are generally working 9-5 and going straight home afterwords, waiting till Fri-Sat-Sun to hang out. Good Luck.

Calor means hot or warm in Spanish.

Santiago being inland and somewhat elevated, can be a little less warm than other Dominican cities. Santiago is a nice city, good service at some hotels and restaurants. There are some fine looking chicas in Santiago, not all are fine, but there are fine chicas there.

For me Santiago chicas are all about the money. I saw one Santiago chica my last trip who I thought I would have sex with, I have chatted with her online for two years, seen her on webcam, seen sexy photos of her. She wanted a digital cam (I have my doubts with most Santiago chicas) , I went to Walmart and bought her a $40 Vivitar piece of shit digital camera. After chatting with her online for a few years, I thought she might provide some service. I met her in Santiago my last trip, first time in person, she was friendly, nice tits, but no Miss Universe. I figured I would get something from her. I gave her the $40US digital camera and all I got was a peck on the lips, nothing more. She said it was the first time meeting me in person and she could not do anything (although it is never too early for some Santiago chicas to ask for money) , after two years of chatting on line and seeing her half nude on cam and in photos, all I got was a peck on the lips. I got played, it happens. I gave her taxi money and sent her home. Later she told me that the digital camera was nothing, that she wanted a car and a VISA. I said to myself this chica is barking up the wrong tree, no service and she expects a car and a VISA and she is not super fine. Many Santiago chicas and other chicas in El Cibao, believe they deserve more and don't have to make an effort to make a guy completely happy. I prefer places in DR where the chicas are real and will fuck my brains out, like in Santo Domingo and other areas in DR.

From Boricua Online I learned, don't give some chicas a gift until after they have provided service. You wouldn't happen to remember the name of this chica would you? Was it Keyla by any chance?

Stopped in Hooters on my way from the airport to Puerto Plata.

Had a good time and the food was typical Hooters food. Wonderful way to begin a Dominican trip.

The little map is from my GPS mapping software. Hooters is just off the main road so if you are driving to Puerto Plata or Sosua you do not have to go out of your way to have a quick bite.

ThanksOn 2 of my trips late last year, I had to fly into Santiago so I plan to just stay over nite and drive to Sosua the next day. I checked into the Matum which has a casino next door but in the rear of the Matum where I parked the rental car, I found a disco with about 10 or 12 chicas and this was on a Wed. Nite. Pulled a nice big tit 20 year old nice ass and pretty face. On my last trip met another chica at the same disco end up taking her to one of the short time caban. I saw a few SW in the area of the Monument a few don't look bad.

Someone will answer you query with more specifics. I suggest you just buy a cell phone for $30 or 40 bucks. But if you are using an Ipod or Blackberry, that may be different. I suggest you use CLARO which is a subsidiary of Verizon.

Claro is not a subsidiary of Verizon. It was sold to America Movil which is owned by Carlos Slim. The second biggest stock holder is AT&T.

You will have to drive through Santiago to get to Puerto Plata. You can ask the driver to stop in Santiago to buy one, or you (probably easier) can get it at La Sirena on the Malecon in Puerto Plata where there are both an Orange store and a Claro store inside and it is air-conditioned and has clean bathrooms, and you can eat an ice cream or swig a cold drink while you wait.

Any ideas on some mongering action there in terms of places to go to meet chicas and chica friendly hotels?I have stayed at the Hodelpa Centro Plaza, Hodelpa Gran Almirante and Hotel Platino and entered with women. Hotel Aloha Sol and Hotel Matum are two other options, that are probably guest friendly. Alberto Suites I have never visited, but I have read it is guest friendly and supposedly good value for a low price. If you stay at the Hodelpa Centro Plaza you can use the pool at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante.

Monday nights (when I was in santiago, years ago) was birthday night at Monte Bar. Las Colinas Rancho Tipico was packed on a Friday or Saturday night, with a place that has pool tables attached to it. Ahi Bar near the monument usually has a bunch of people on weekend nights. For higher end type bars, look at a site like Bufeo com to get an idea.

P4P venues, Passions is the best known. Casa Blanca and Ilusiones were (are) on the same street as Plaza Internacional. Be careful with the SWs near the Monument.

There are supposedly other low cost P4P venues, maybe some car washes and other bars. Maybe some other members will post additional information.

Arriving at STI in the middle of the night next week.

Alamo Car Rental claims they are open all night. Does anybody knows if we can reliably expect them to be staffed at 4am?I have received an alamo / national rental car at the SDQ (santo domingo airport) at around 4am several times, I can confirm they are open 24/7 at the SDQ airport. I have not been to STI airport in years. When you make the reservation online with alamo or national, the phone number for the santiago rental office will be on the reservation. You can call that office during normal business hours, before your trip, to confirm that they will be open and someone will be there at 4am. You may want to confirm where you will do the paperwork and receive the car at 4am. At the SDQ airport usually at 4am, the inside rental counters (just after you get your checked luggage) , those inside counters are usually not staffed at 4am. The paperwork at 4am at the SDQ airport is usually done in the outside building that fronts the parking lot, where the rental cars are parked.

For a one week or more rental, I usually use a coupon code from BJs warehouse store travel site, to save about $50US https://www.nationalcar.com/index.do?action=/hotDealsTemplate&msg=ZL_BJVacations_splash&cm_mmc=bjs-_-web_offer-_-mop-_-5027379 (choose $30 off weekly rental. National and Alamo are partners in the DR and use the same cars). For National and Alamo, for online reservations, they have to be made at least 24 hours before you pick up the car (I always print out the reservation with the price on it and show it to an alamo-national worker to confirm that they know what the reserved price is).

Out of curiosity: do you take any insurance with the car, or only rely on your credit card coverage? When I rented a car, I used Hertz in Santo Domingo. I only took the Casa del Conductor coverage, and Hertz gave me the address and telephone number to call if necessary. I will not rent a car without it. I cannot speak for others, but the other companies that I canvassed could not give me that coverage. In fact, two referred me to Hertz.

How long does it take to get from STI to Sousa? And how much would a cab ride be?It will depend on various factors, time of day, weather (no rain) , type of vehicle and luck. Santiago has rush hour traffic Monday-Friday, driving through Santiago during rush hour traffic will be slower. During heavy rains, the ride will take longer. If you get stuck behind several large trucks going through the mountains, unless you have a fast car and are able to pass, the ride will take longer. If there is an accident, the traffic might stop. If there is a concert at a certain venue in Puerto Plata, the traffic might stop.

The small mountain road you can pick up by making a right from Avenida Estrella Sadhala, where the Plaza Hache building is, take that road straight to the small mountain road. Years ago a taxi driver picked me up at STI (Santiago airport) around midnight and took the small mountain road, we got to Sosua in under an hour. The small mountain road is not recommended for newbies driving at night.

For the main mountain road to get to puerto plata, take Avenida Estrella Sadhala (will become Highway 1) , (north west) to Navarrete, where there will be a turn off for the main mountain road to Puerto Plata.

You should check with your credit card company and if you are really worried you should check with your consulate. Dominican insurance companies are known to sell policies that don't give the coverage as promised. You can buy insurance for tires, windshield, even lost / stolen personal items. The insurance companies don't always tell you the coverage begins where your home country's insurnce policy coverage ends. Look into it, you might be surprised. Have fun.

Thanks, Joasousa,

Out of curiosity: do you take any insurance with the car, or only rely on your credit card coverage?Alamo-National offers 4 types of insurance on their online reservation page with their prices (Hertz online for Dom Rep tells you to get the price of additional insurance at the counter. ISG Member Helpmann had a negative experience with Hertz in the Dom Rep). My Mastercard credit card provides coverage for Collision Damage Waiver / Theft Protection (CDW-TP) , so I Decline the insurance that Alamo offers for $19. 50 (Collision Damage Waiver / Theft Protection). When you decline Alamo's Collision Damage Waiver / Theft Protection, it is mandatory to purchase Third Party Liability insurance for $9US per day. I also purchase Tires And Windshield Protection for $3. 75 per day.

I have asked the guys at Alamo numerous times, what happens if there is an accident with personal injuries to another person and they have told me no jail time. A guy at Alamo who I have known for over 5 years told me a story about a guy who rented from Alamo in santo domingo airport about a year and half ago, drove the rental to boca chica, had an accident with a guy on a motorcycle and the motorcycle guy died, the alamo worker said the renter did not go to jail.

I have rented over 20 times with alamo and never had a problem (the reserved price online is the price that gets charged to my credit card). I was told several of the large rental companies, maybe hertz, nelly and a few others are owned by the same group of people.

Chevy Spark is a tiny, but good car. The Chevrolet Aveo I would not rent again (several times I had problems with that car). The Nissan Tilda is sometimes only about $25US more than the Spark, the Nissan Tilda (similar to a Nissan Versa in the US) is a better car than the Spark.

I was in the DR for a week last week and only ventured out to three other places beyond Santiago. I was supposed to go to Puerto Plata for a day but could not make it and so missed out meeting one fellow traveler there. My loss.

Punta Rucia

All of you should attempt to visit this small fishing village. Not for women but to enjoy a quaint and tiny place and then to visit this place called Paradise Island.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8PGVwIvbkc&feature=related

Getting to Punta Rucia is fairly uncomplicated, autopista towards Montecristi but the last leg is a challenge. With no regular road to speak of. So it is better to have an SUV but I had a regular vehicle and managed with some luck and good lower gears. It rained like mad the night and the road was full of puddles and worse, mud and I was worried to stay stuck with my low clearance vehicle.

I went there with a woman from Villa Gonzales / outside of Santiago. The island as you see in the picture is real and the day we went there, there was no other boat other than ours. There is a restaurant run by a very nice French gentleman – Arnault by name and food is excellent. His place is called something like Villa Rosa. It overlooks the beach with the only road in town sauntering in between. He has place to rent (1700 pesos per night? – food probably not included?) but I really did not check this. Our two person dinner was around 1400 or so pesos, beer, wine, coffee and a shot of rum included. But we did not stay there. One can definitely spend a few days in this village, especially if you like the peace and quiet and have the right person / s to accompany you.

San Francisco de Macoris

I went to this place for the first time, hoping to get lucky with a woman. Taking the scenic road. Santiago, Moca, Salcedo and then S. Francisco. The view is scenic as you can see the mountains in the distance and it looked very pretty to me. The final stretch of the road ending in the city is excellent but the road all the way, in general was rather decent. One thing about driving in the DR is often you will find women looking for a ride. Some are pros (on the autopistas) but others are regular getting to hitch a ride, lacking regular transportation. It is up to you to translate your luck into something concrete and I have experienced that. Several times and it is not complicated if one can handle some language.

There is something to be said when you have women travel to you from other cities, as has been discussed here, BUT, that I made the trip to meet someone also made the other party committed to keeping her part of the deal as a compensation if you will so we ended up in a cabana, for 4 hours, after a leisurely meal on another day of massive rain.

Bonao

I drove to Bonao, again to meet a woman who lives there. Came to spend the night with me. We went for a movie as well as dinner.

Santiago

The rest of the time, I stayed at Santiago. Mostly had 2/3 appointments per day. Before lunch, after lunch and the evening. All were local women (a couple from La Vega) some worked out reasonably well, some very well and some – not at all but as we know, fun is in the anticipation – will it happen or will it not?

Facebook: The facebook contacts worked rather well this time in that, even though I had whittled down the numbers to a low 4/5, three worked out very well and given that facebook is 'free', one may give that a shot. Once you have a hook up, you can try the friend of the friend route, to cast the net wider.

I also tried several cabanas this time because I had to. They typically are pricey 3-4 hours for almost always around 500 pesos and barring one, I stayed not more than a couple of hours.

Overall, another good experience, with people ranging from skinny 32B to 38Bs. I like them all! LOL.

I am looking to visit early 2013 and was wondering if anyone had any tips or experience on the easiest or cheapest way to fly? I have already read the Santiago portion of the forum and found a lot of good info once I have landed.

Flying there seems to be a pain with all the airport switching in NYC or long layovers! I have lots of flexibility, so I want to avoid hassle as much as possible.

Thanks!

Any tips for gaming chics from STI on Facebook to set up "appointments"?Well, I give you two examples. The conversation right from the beginning so you can see I do not have any magic catch. First one worked the other did not. I did not know anyone of them. All I got to see are their profile (friend of the friend) and pic and then a random call on my part. You can notice two different personalities (as you notice the first one was a piece of cake. The second one was a bright one, in college. I chatted for much longer but to no avail. Well truth be told, she said she was moving to Argentina so I called it a day after a bunch of such exchanges) in the two examples. Sometimes I get lucky, other times draught.

At my last trip last Month, rental car companies refused to waive collision & theft insurance, because Visa & Mastercard do not let them hold $1000+ on your credit card anymore, in case of damage to your car. Tried several of the major international rental car and got the same story. Budget in Santo Domingo even showed me the letter they received from Visa / Mastercard saying no more hold on cards in the Dominican Republic. This, of course, increases daily rental cost by $25+/day.

Nelly at SDQ did take my Mastercard though, without the collision insurance. Being a local rental car agency, maybe they did not get the letter from Visa / Mastercard yet.

Rental car companies told me you can still get the insurance waiver with an American Express. Just got the JetBlue AmEx with car rental insurance (good investment anyway, JetBlue being the airline I fly the most those days)

(to Joa: I still owe you a beer. Next Month?)

Sammy Sosa, just think, how much a $1, 000 hold will help you in case of a theft? They will held YOU unless your CC has a rental vehicle cost balance. You need a paid waiver.

Sammy Sosa
01-19-13, 17:55
The $1000+ hold is what is required by the rental company in the DR to waive collusion & theft insurance. It has nothing to do with what you would end up paying if uninsured. Sorry for not being more clear.

(I personally have collision & theft coverage from my Credit Card and personal auto insurance, hence I have no reason to use the car rental's one, except possibly to save some paper work in case of claim)

Maybe we can soften the blow on a taxi ride?Avoid the expense and take a Carib Tours bus, or a Metro, take a taxi from the airport, you may have to wait until 6am for a bus, not sure the schedule, but they leave every hour during the day. After de-planing you'll have maybe a 2 hour wait at the bus station. The Metro bus line ends right smack in the center of Sosua. If you don't have a lot of baggage, either take a 3 minute walk to a hotel or use a motorcycle taxi. 50pesos. Do not carry a lot of cash, use your debit card at a BANK ATM for pesos. Happy Hunting

I too am flying into Santiago and arriving some time around 2:30 am with my final destination being the north coast. I am not renting a car this trip, but rather doing the taxi to the bus station thing. By the time I pick up my luggage, buy my tourist card and clear customs, it will be 3 or 3:30 am. I cannot check into my hotel until early afternoon, and I don't look forward to sitting around the airport or bus station for several hours.

I would LOVE to get a few hours sleep before I make my trek via Caribe Tours. I am cheap and trying to save money for the chicas, and I am wondering if taking a taxi to a cabana, sleep for 4-5 hours and then taxi it to the bus station for my final leg to the north coast makes sense.

I am open to any other suggestions and if the cabana thing is good, which one would your suggest and how much will it cost?

Any input is appreciated as I don't look forward to starting out my trip sitting around waiting and them being so tired that I am a walking zombie.

If you are coming in on the late night Spirit flight and are in need of someone to pick you up and somewhere to stay until you can get the bus to the north coast, we can accommodate you? We have a spot in Villa Olga, which is ten minutes from the airport, and five minutes from the Caribe Tours and Metro bus stations (right up the street from Plaza International). We can have a drive pick you up from the airport and drop you off. We have free wifi internet and beds. We are new so, we are not completely setup but, we can get you out the streets.

Please pm me for more details.

In the future we will have vacation rentals for the Santiago area.

Ask every dude on the plane where they are going, then hitch a ride. This is an appropriate suggestion. I always land in Santiago and at an ungodly hour and pass the night at the airport waiting for the daylight. Last trip I got there, I showed two guys the location to buy the tourist card. Evidently it was their first time. Later I saw them coming up to the food court and so we chatted and had beer together. One guy called up a taxi driver and then I spoke to the taxi man in Spanish to iron out the details for the Sosua trip and they left. If the cost is split, the ride gets better so there is incentive on all sides to share a ride.

Pulled this chica's number that was selling some products in Jumbo. May try to get her to meet me at TGIF for a few drinks tomorrow since its 2 blocks from my hotel. Also stopped by both malls and didn't see Hooters. Maybe it closed up. My wing pulled a nice chica that works at one of the kiosks in Plaza Las Americas and she started blowing up his cell an hour later. Planning to hit Soho and maybe Monte Bar tonight. Also ran into 3 cueros at the casino up the street that made it clear they are available.

The food is cheap and traditional. The key to banging chicas for me has always been about options. I had 4 plans today.

Plan A was the chica I pulled at the Super Mercado. We were supposef to hook up at 8 pm but something came up. She texted and told me she would explain tomorrow.

Plan B was a big titty light skin chica I met today in front of Aloha Sol. She said she couldn't leave the house tonight but I think I can get her to visit me in Sosua or POP because she loves the beach and my wing wants to head up there tomorrow.

Plan C is a chica I pulled at lunch near one of the univetsities. She didn't answer my text.

Plan D works near my hotel and I met her today as well. We talked about going dancing but she invited me over to her appartment first where she livez with her 12 year old son. Before I met up with her, I had some drinks with my wing and his chica and then we checked out Level. It was ladies night and the talent was rediculous. I could have collected a few numbers but I was numbered out for the day and ready to smash.

Took a cab to plan D's place and her kid was asleep. Its a small 1 bedroom so not much space since the living room was small. She wanted to go out so we hit Lovera. The club had male dancers so it was packed with dimes dressed to the T. Plan D started getting touchy feely and st arted kissing me in the club. When we left the club she seemed apprehensive about giving me some at her place because her son was there sleeping. Knowing that I'm going to Sosua tomorrow I was persistent that we have sex tonight. I wound up smashing with her kid in the next room. I was trying to do a quiet fuck but she started the aye papi shit and moaning as she was coming. I let her ride till she came then went doggy style since she has a big ass. Pulled the rubber off when I felt the soldiers linning up and busted a gigantic wad of cum on her ass. It was 3 am and she has to get up at 6 so I cleaned my dick and caught a cab back to the hotel. I'm going to miss hanging out with normal chics since we are heading to Sosua now.

It's often hard to leave the low hanging fruit in Sosua. This is always the situation for me but when I get to Santiago I always know I made the right chice. This time was no different. I'd been texting a 24 year old university student I met in Santiago on a daily basis even though I had left Santiago for Sosua. I'm flying back to NYC from STI so I knew I'd have one more shot at hanging out in Santiago.

I took Metro to Santiago and the bus got packed in POP. There were several cuties on the bus but I could only nap on this ride. Got settled into my room and text my chica. She was closeby with a GF and met me within 20 minutes. Didn't think I would see her that fast and had mixed emotions because I wanted an opportunity to go check on a Plan B just incase things went awry.

I was hungry and my chica was thirsty so we went to Kukaramacara. I don't really like this spot but it was convinient. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were better than the ones I had at the burrito spot in sosua and cheaper. We also drank 2 grandes. Afterwards we decided to pick up a small bottle of Brugal and go to my room and watch some TV o_O.

I have to admit I was a bit surprised at this point cause this girl alwayed played the goodie role with me and I know from past experience a girl only comes to my room if she wants to get busy, especially when liquor is involved. So we drank a little and playfully started kissing after I began to complment her on her lips. Next thing I know she got very aggressive with the kissing and the tongue action. 15 minutes later I was reaching for a condom and the rest is history.

Although she is 24, she lives with both parents who were texting her about her whereabouts since it was now 8:00 and dark so she had to leave quickly. I offered to give her cab money but she ignored the offer and said she would catch a publico so I walked her several blocks awa and watched her get into a publico and head home. When she got home she called and texted me about 20 times to appoligize for having to leav so quickly.

I took a nap and headed out to grab a bite around the monument. Every bar and club was packed and I saw some lovely ladies out mostly with dates and some with groups celebrating birthdays. For some reason the urge to use the bathroom came on me so I decided to head back to my room a bit early and crash. I think I have Santiago figured out now and look forward to my next visit.

If you prepare the girls for your visit it is like you have been dating for while. First date sex is rare with non pros so you need make it a third date look a like. I had a non pro show up with great lingerie and a willing atitude.

Thanks for the good reports! I'll be in Santiago for 3 days at the end if the month before going to Sosua. I can't wait to see how things go with the non pros I've lined up. Plus I want to see how many new ones I can meet. I'll be sure to check out the malls!

ThanksISG member Orgasmico recently spent some time there and he may be able to advise. Perhaps you can send a private message to him?

My understanding is there is a place called La Pasion, close to the Airport which is a Pro place but I have not been there. There is a club I visited called Ahi bar.I had gone there with a woman on two separate occasions. Nice place but do not think it is a pick up bar. There is a disco on top of Las Colinas mall which is quite hip and close by there is a car wash. If I recall Kelven car wash. Closer to that mall but I went early and did not find it particularly worth the time.

I heard a lot about this bar and finally had an opportunity to go there with a girl and her sister. The bar is close to the highway linking santiago to Puerto Plata.

What I did not like is that unless apparently you buy stuff un bottles, you do not get to the "VIP" areas which are like divans in the corners so sitting on metal high chairs was not really my cuppa tea. The place got filled up by 1 AM and there was a live band. The sister taught me a few moves in Salsa and bachata which I enjoyed much. There were no single chicks that I could see. In other words people coming in had both males and females and it did not feel like a pick up place rather a place where locals go to have fun. Having said that the sister danced with one of the waiters who was a good dancer. It is quite true that if you can dance, it is definitely an ice breaker in this land.

Oh, there was one single caucasian guy. Fairly scrawny and tall, in his late sixties.could dance and had an eye candy. A young woman likely 19/20 who was all over him. It was clear that she liked him a lot and showed her affection without restraint. I almost felt jealous even though I was with an attractive young woman myself.

I do not know how many share this experience.

This time, two women came to see me when they stared their periods (well, in the case of one, I had to buy pads for her. Coming out of the movie theater in Santiago). She did an absolute slip shod job of an oral. And the other did a fantastic one. Well hazards of the trade!

What was interesting. Something that I wanted to check with you guys, was an experience with one (third) woman. She was fine and as I was kissing her and smelling her breathing, I recalled something based on my long gone past. So I asked her, if she was expecting her period soon and she nodded rather surprised. I told her, that I could smell something in her breathing. A slightly sweet odor that I have also experienced in the past which told me that she was on her way to her next month. She looked at me disbelievingly but I am quite certain of what I say: I wonder if any of you out there have had similar olfactory experiences.

Aren't women the greatest gift for men? LOL

Research has shown that this is more common than would be randomly expected at the time of menstruation. It could also be brought on if she had not eaten that day.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/406008Whoa thanks. I read the linked information but not clear. Are you suggesting that she may have diabetes? She is 20 and outwardly seems as healthy as they come. Besides, in my past too, I have smelled this without any association with diabetes. I was kind of associating it with pheromones and the likes.

When I was in Santiago the week before last the girl (married now) who I have been dealing with longer than any other woman in DR met me at our usual spot, Fridays, when she got off of work. When we got into the car she said,"I'm on my period." I told her,"I know. I can smell it." She thought I was joking. I told her no that I was serious. I really could. And straight to the cabana we went. She said it was the end of her time. During our time in the cabana there was not a drop of blood to be found.

So I am not crazy! I did not smell the scent of a woman on the two others who had just started but on this one who was about to. But I did not kiss or sniff the other two as intensely either. When the women are excited their nostrils flare up and I love sniffing that hot breath.

This one came to see me in Santiago from La Vega so I thought it was apt to put it under Santiago.

In the future we will have vacation rentals for the Santiago area.Headed to Santiago on the 22nd to go to Sosua. Bus doesn't leave until 8:45. It would be cool to have a hang out spot. ALSO, if anyone knows a good dentist that can do crowns and implants please let me know.

Hello guys,

This will be my first in the north of DR next week and had harvesting many numbers from the web (dominicanCupid. Com).

I'm wondering if most of the girls are semi pros or not. They all seem to look for serious and marriage as they said.

I have values and I wouldn't tell lies and promises, would treat them well if they'd deserve it.

I expect they could ask for money or gifts also so no prob.

I would like to get your opinion guys if they could be GF and if it is safe for me.

A few days ago I chatted with one who wanted to give me her brother's number because she had 'lost' her own.

She gived few excuses when I asked when she could buy a new one so I declined her offer.

I'm suspicious and afraid to make a mistake falling into an ambush because many look really worthwhile.

If this is risky and unsafe I will turn on the classic game with hours and noche's deals for sure.

My destination is Sosua. But the direct flights to POP is off the chain. $850 R / T from New York. This is the 1st time I will fly into Santiago, this July. I arrive at 1am in the morning. I know I will need to find someplace to sleep and then take the Metro bus later after I check out. Does anybody have any info on an affordable hotel I can stay at that will receive me at 2am in the morning? Or maybe a recommended cabana? Number of a reliable taxi driver that can pick me up from the airport. I may consider staying in Santiago for a full day before going to Sosua.

I have been told that if you enter them after midnight, you can get the place for the whole night, instead of the typical 4hour batches during the day but I have never tried that anywhere. Perhaps there are others more knowledgeable on that who could comment? The airport taxi can take you there and in the morning, the cabanas will call for a cab.

At Colonial, which is smack in the middle of the town, a 30 minute ride at night, the rate is about 900 pesos all inclusive. The rooms are nothing great to speak of but clean enough with A / C. They also have a higher end option on an adjacent building. 1300 pesos last checked, and rooms are better.breakfast included. The owner and his son speak English in case you do not speak Spanish.

There is another place used to be called Alberto's suites. I do not recall the new name and they used to charge about 1000 pesos. That place is actually better than Colonial in my opinion. Google for their phone number too.

I know a person I use who comes to pick me up at the airport but do you speak Spanish. He does not speak English at all. You can PM me. Not to bother others.

Or maybe a recommended cabana? Here is the only one I've experienced in STI. I had a chica with me and it was several years ago but you can check the website for prices and see if this fits your budget.

As I said, rather than waste a night in STI and just crash you might want to do Matum and hit Pure Disco. There is a good chance you will meet and possibly pick up a chica and bring her right up to your room.

The other hotel mentioned by Tempoecorto is a good option as well; I stayed there earlier this year for a night.

The other hotel mentioned by Tempoecorto is a good option as well; I stayed there earlier this year for a night. Thanks guys. I'm going to sort this all out. I like the idea of hooking up with a chica rather than being alone. I rejoined dominican cupid again, and am looking to see if I can pre-arrange a hookup with a Santiago chica, or one willing to meet me there (or from another town close by ). That might have me staying a day or 2 longer. I have not even booked a hotel in Sosua yet, because I just don't know how everything will play out after I exit the airport in Santiago. One thing I've learned during the course of mongering in the DR. You almost don't need a plan. Or you could have several backup plans just in case someone else spoils your plan. Very often opportunities present themselves, even when trying to go with a plan. Many times, I tried having a plan only to find that I couldn't or didn't want to stick to it because something else interesting popped up. It's especially easy for me to say that in regards to Sosua, because I'm quite comfortable there. I know where to go if I need a place to stay even without a reservation. I know how easy it is to hook up with chicas there, without having to call one up.

I am looking forward to the challenge of mongering in Santiago even though some have indicated that chicas expect way too much $$$ there. Once I get through the night, I'm sure I'll be ok. The info shared will help alot. I would much rather have a reservation in place at that hour of the night than simply winging it. Again thanks. If anything else comes to mind please share. I may find Santiago worth making it my new mongering station.

The email on the card you shared got me no where. My email was rejected, or undeliverable. I called the cell phone and talked to Gerardo. His english is okay, but not great. (like my spanish) He was not at the hotel when I called, but he accepted my reservation over the phone for a suite with a double. He said it was 1300 pesos per night for 2 persons. With diligence I found the street name on a Santiago map even though I did not see the actual hotel on the map. On another web page, I did see a still picture of the hotel when it was Alberto Suites. It appears to be very close to the monument. Gerardo assured me the hotel is open 24 hours. So there shouldn't be any problem with me checking in early in the morning. I sent him a text to his cell phone so he has my reservation info and he has it correct.

The Colonial, and Plaza Monumental Hotel, The Matum (If I desire to pay more for my accomodations and be adventurous at the disco) also Bora Bora cabana all seem to be very good alternatives.

What is the standard cost for a taxi from the airport to most of the various hotels within the city? If there is a reputable company (Like Apolo Taxi in SD) hanging at the airport with a fair standard rate, I'll use them. Your guy is a good option for you because you both can communicate well. If I contact him, I might botch things up trying to hook up with him for the 1st time. And I don't want us to have our wires crossed over a misunderstanding over the phone. My concern and interest in a reliable taxi, is because I always see plenty of taxi hounds at the airports, and I don't want to get into the wrong cab. Especially at that hour of the morning.

I've flown into STI 4 times in the last 6 months. There's a JetBlue flight at 6am and a spiritair at 2am and I've been on both. I hang out at the Matum on the regular now I've gotten a room there every time but the last trip so I just gambled and caught a taxi to the airport that trip. There's the Pure Disco inside and there's a couple other nite spots right outside. Tourists don't frequent these places so Spanish is a must. The pay 4 play ladies don't come out to late, so what I do is tell the guy at the cab stand to send me a chica, I tell him the type I want, and then they appear. Of course he wants a fee and the hotel is going to charge you an extra $10. It's a nice racket for them I guess but I've won money every time and I have had to treat myself. I can't really see where you will find chicas in this neighborhood I guess you can just take a stroll around the area, but be careful the traffic is insane (I almost got hit by a car). Overall it's a damn good time as long as your gambling drinks and food are complimentary. One trip I met this chica (a regular civilian) who is just beautiful, well the last trip I took her and her mother to dinner, I stay in touch with her, dunno when the panties will be droppin, but somehow I'm not worried.

If there is a reputable company (Like Apolo Taxi in SD) hanging at the airport with a fair standard rate, I'll use them...I understand. I do not really know the late night prices for taxis waiting at the airport. First time, I landed DAY TIME. Sept 2011, I think I paid $30. When I first started with STI at night (or wee hour of the morning) , I used to spend the night at the airport because of security concerns and I actually used the shared taxis. Early morning. Paying 100 pesos (I think the rate is 25 pesos but I did double occupancy and had a small bag for the trunk) to get to Colonial from airport and a bit of adventure. I also rent cars these days so no real idea about taxis or if there is a good taxi company. Re, current prices, perhaps others here might know more.

Here is the problem of communication: I have had planes getting there much later than scheduled. Under such circumstances, it becomes a challenge. A) not being able to inform the waiting person and be) having the person wait there for hours or going home and returning later. And cost ramification. The other thing is that when I land I may not have a local functioning phone. Indeed I had to request a local for use of his phone because of a flight delay but getting someone to hand you over their phone is another interesting exercise and at that hour, not always pleasing.

Text works better and use whatsapp from here, which is IP based and is more popular there everyday. Also check if the hotel can send you a taxi. In which case, you would not have to explain the location of the destination.

The plaza monumental is the closest coming from the airport (actually the cabanas are even closer) and it is a big building. I wanted to check it out last trip but I did not have the time so cannot speak of quality but it should be equal to Colonial. I cannot speak of cabanas like Bora bora. For a 3 hour time slot they may work but if you need the sleep or for 8 hours, not sure cost wise how it pans out.

Indeed I had to request a local for use of his phone because of a flight delay but getting someone to hand you over their phone is another interesting exercise and at that hour, not always pleasing.Hmmm, you just gave me an idea I could explore. Maybe I might find another guy or guys looking to share a taxi into the city? Another thing I hadn't thought of is my flight being delayed. And how that could be a problem if I have a driver waiting for me, but can't communicate with him.

I thought about renting a car at the airport and just drive myself to my hotel. But quickly dismissed that idea after seeing the bottom line per day price soar after factoring in insurance and taxes. At least in Sosua, most of those renters include insurance in their price. Whereas I can get a SUV for $30 US per day in Sosua. So I guess I'll just secure a taxi at the airport for maybe $30 or less and call it a night. If I spot a shared taxi where I can pay a few pesos I'll do that.

It should work. Also July is not high season. People in the DR are not really used to email. I discovered to my chagrin.

For a 3 hour time slot they may work but if you need the sleep or for 8 hours, not sure cost wise how it pans out.I have a strange feeling I may not make it to Sosua. Or I'll be delayed by 3 or 4 days. What I'll probably like about being in Santiago, is that it doesn't have that nasty "there aint nothing but prostitutes there" stigma attached to it, like Sosua has. Many chicas who are in the game, they don't like going to or being associated with going to Sosua. Thats like being on the lowest point on the totem pole for them. I asked about the taxi when I talked to Gerardo. He said I should get one from the airport. I may still want to rent a car, just so I can do some research of everything. But not from the airport. Are there any small / private car rental places you have used around Santiago, like they have in Sosua? $30 to 40 a day to rent a car / suv would work.

Typically the day after as most rentals are shut down at the hour the flight lands. However, I think Hertz etc. Are open. I rent with Ace rent a car but (Nelly) actually did the rental. You should be able to Google Ace. Insurance: I do not buy any additional insurance barring what my credit card affords me. I also drive slowly and without drinking / being drunk. I also try not to drive long distance at night. Unfortunately, I do not know other local agencies. If you call them ahead and give them your co-ordinates, they will come and pick you up.

Having said this, I have a forum member who sent me a number of an agency from Sosua. He mentioned that if the rental is long enough, they will come to STI with the vehicle. I have never tried them so no idea about prices etc but you can call them up, if they are in business. I understand the person speaks English. If you need more info, send me a private message.

Getting a cab to go to the hotel in STI is a good idea. You do not have to worry about flight delays etc. It is a short ride, highway essentially and I think safe. Whether you can find others to accompany you, I have no idea but you can speak with people on the plane. I typically met others who are headed for Sosua as indeed once, I intervened with the driver because of language issues with the visitors, to agree on a price to Sosua.

Thats like being on the lowest point on the totem pole for them. That's interesting, but perhaps they just don't like the kind of clientele they find in Sosua, because they sure aren't going to find so many tourists walking into bars in Santiago. They will have to carry out a different business model entirely in Santiago.

I think your perception of Sosua as "nothing but prostitutes" is a bit overdone as it is really just a single block on Pedro Clissante where most of the prostitution bars are focused and there are lots of people living in Sosua and the surrounding area who have very little to do directly with the prostitution industry.

It is going to be very hot in Santiago in the coming weeks, but you can give it a try. Some people do just prefer a big city environment.

For one, I love the shit out of Sosua, especially the playa, and that breathtaking view. I look forward to that every trip. Frannie, the perception I shared is not my perception of Sosua. It's the perception of certain chicas I have encountered and the chicas many other mongers have encountered, complaining about Sosua, or refusing to go to Sosua because of the perception THEY have. That impression or conclusion has been shared by ex Sosuaites and non pros. I know personally chicas who used to "work" in Sosua until they started climbing into their late 20's and early 30's. Their preferred mode of work NOW is to have WU novios, or using dating websites or keeping in contact with enough mongers who plan to visit them ( or the women visit the monger in another city , ex SD ) and keep their pockets full without setting foot in Sosua.

I was figuring, that I and perhaps other mongers are less likely to have a problem with chicas who do not want to be seen in Sosua and instead meet them in Santiago. Thats where I was coming from. Also I thought it might give a monger a better impression of himself to a chica, because he is not in Sosua looking for women. Sorry if I didn't express it in writing the way I meant it.

After I leave Santiago and spend the rest of my vacation in Sosua, I'm sure things will be the same as usual. Good times.

On the map it seems like walking distance and I do have chica lined up but I will have some free time on a Friday night and does this bar kick it late like the one in Santo Domingo? Also tell me about that sprit air flight is it usually on time because I will be taking that flight but I will have to wait about 2 or 3 hours for the hotel shuttle which I will wait for. I am a Santo Domingo guy and this is my first trip to Santiago so give me info about pure and any other places that a guy can get into on a Friday and a weekend night.

DaY 1

Delta flt leaving jfk was 45 minutes late. Arrived at STI at 1:30am. 30 minutes later than it was supposed to be.

Walked out of the terminal and saw a taxi driver with a company sign. He charged me $20us to Albero Suites. I don't think they call the place Filpo Pension.

Even their business cards say Alberto Suites. I had arranged for my blondie chica to be in my room when I got there. I confirmed she was at the hotel waiting for me when I was at the airport getting my luggage. Got to the hotel about 3am.

The reception guy charged me $90 for 3 days. The 1st night was the night of my arrival (the 18th ). I had planned on leaving on the 20th for SD.

Got to my room and blondie is looking sexy. I ended up changing rooms because the refridgerator wasnt working. The a / see didn't seem like it was cooling the room either. Just as I got the last item from the 1st room, I saw a big flying cockroach in the kitchen. I guess that was supposed to be a reminder from my last trip to Sosua in May.

I shower and get in the bed. Blondie is ready for action. After our session, I went to sleep. And rightly so. I aint used to traveling that late.

Day 1. 5.

Later that morning, still the 18th, me and blondie set out for something to eat. She calls her taxi guy Vincent to pick us up. ! St we got to the Scotia Bank on Calle Del Sol why calle Mella. Then he drops us off at a restaurant right next to the monument. Kukaramacara. Food was good came to 1730 pesos. A little more than I thought I'd spend for food.

Next I take her to La Sirena to buy groceries for her and her family. We go to drop the food off, and now I am meeting most of the family, with 2 of her 3 children in the house. The other kid is supposedly with his father. My gut tells me they are still in a relationship, and he has no problem with her doing p4p to support herself. Her family was very appreciative. And then we left.

I wanted a car rental. So Blondie connected me to a guy she knew, and that guy connected me with another guy who rents cars on the strip leading to the airport.

I got a Pontiac Vibe (small suv) for $30 a day. It was a hard transaction because neither one of us understood each other fully.

I'm still not sure this was a good idea because I don't really know what their insurance covers if anything. Now I have to be extremely careful.

I'm not really interested in driving around Santiago unless I have to. The rental is mainly so I can travel to SD, back to STI and then to Sosua / POP.

We drove to Terra Bella mall looking for the hooters. No hooters. Even though the directory in the elevator indicated Hooters was there. I was looking forward to their fish sandwich and some Sangria. Oh well. We went upstairs and found a restaurant that had good food and it was inexpensive.

Eventually we made it back to the hotel. Like the previous night. We fucked and slept until morning.

Day 2.

Set out to look for a restaurant for breakfast. Got a little lost but found a small restaurant across from a tech univeristy. Many nice looking women walking around. Many leaving or going to school, or trying to catch a publico taxi. I tell blondie that I need a pedicure. A few paces from the restaurant is a salon. We go in, and the lady starts doing the pedicure. Now mind you, I am not paying strict attention because I'm too busy trying to use their wifi on my phone. The lady was very nice but she really didn't seem to know how to trim my nails, especially on my big toes. It took almost an hour. Blondie comes over and starts complaining to the lady that my toes didn't look cut properly, and why did it take so long. All of the ladies in the salon were looking stunned because they didn't understand why she was so pissed.

I happen to know she is a little crazy, so it didn't surprise me that much. But then she started calling me stupid in the car, because I allowed the chica to take so long and not to do a good job. I didn't really have a problem with it, because the pedicure was only 250 pesos. And I can easily go elsewhere for a better pedicure. But this chick was pissed about it. I don't think the pedicure was the main problem. Earlier in the salon she asked me for 2300 pesos to get her hair done. I laughed it off, telling her she better buy some food or clothes she don't need that kind of money for hair. So I'm sure that, and having to wait for my pedicure was what really got her upset.

She "told" me to take her to her mothers house. I said, I got a better idea. Lets get your bag from the hotel and you can go home.

We get to the hotel, she barely allows me to stop the car before snatching off her seatbelt, and opening car door. She bolts for the.

Hotel door, they buzz her in. Once in the room she gathers all of her stuff, and starts asking me if I was going to take her home.

I asked her if she was stupid. I said you need to take a taxi. Makes no sense me taking her acting like that. I can see thats not what she wanted. She wanted me to make a big fuss about her leaving.

Anyway, she goes down to the lobby I guess to call or get a taxi. I'm in my room plotting my next move. I notice the wifi is not working so I go downstairs to talk to the front desk guy. I meet the cleaning lady in the hallway, and blondie is on her way back upstairs?

I'm like WTF. I thought I got rid of you. Instead she is complaining about about not having taxi money, and wondering if I was going.

To take her. I reitterated that she should let the front desk call a taxi or call her own taxi. Now she is complaining that she needs money for a taxi. Which is BS, I let her keep 1300 pesos from the change from the food I bought yesterday. I voluntarily gave her 600 pesos for a taxi (which was way too much) and she angrily took it out of my hand. She leaves the hotel, but immediately turns around and looks at me through the gate and tears the money up and throws it on the sidewalk. I went out to get the money, and the front desk guy taped it up. I gave him the 100 peso that he taped.

Now it's time for plan B. But I'm a little unsure about blondie. Am I really done with her?

I was hoping she was gone and I wouldn't have to deal with her unpredictable ass again. But she has already called me 1 hour after she left. I ignored her call. Before all of this, I had set aside money I intended to give her when I was ready to check out Saturday morning. I'm glad I didn't give it to her earlier. I've made that mistake before.

Gave a chica some money on good faith, before we were done. This is a good example of why it's not a good idea to pay a chica too soon just because you may think things are going well. And especially if you are dealing with a chica thats unpredictable at times.

I called a plan B. She is a D Cupid santiago chica. She agreed to meet, but not until tomorrow morning. My guess is it's Friday and she has a sure thing with another dude. My 1st bad sign of plan be, is """"yo no tengo balance disponsible. Llame porfavor. Then later."""puedes recargar mi cuenta por favor? Para acceder al menu de recargas marca #100*12#""""

I haven't even met this chica yet, and she is asking me and telling me how to send her phone credit? She has no balance but she can send me 2 texts to tell me she has no balance? I have already lost interest because I'm sure her RFM is going to extend if we meet tomorrow. She'll probably tell me she needs me to send her money for a taxi. Besides, I'm leaving for SD. What can she do for me in the morning if I'm checking out in a couple of hours?

On a lighter note. Alberto Suites is a hotel for guests and it seems there are residents here as well.

The hotel sits on a narrow side street. 30 calle Santome (near monument and calle Del Sol a busy street ). A small awning out front. You could easily miss this place, driving or walking by.

For 1300 pesos the accomodations were very modest. Small kitchen, full size fridge, little a / see in BR that works only at night. A fan in BR, small color tv. A queen bed. No safe. Blondie had to call twice to get hot water for the shower each night.

For $30 I can't complain. It's an ok place for a short stay traveler. I wouldn't stay a whole week, especially with no safe.

At least I got to have one chica while staying in Santiago. I may set out for the Ahi Bar or some other drinking spot tonight.

I could go to Pasions since I have a car, but don't want to pay a lot for take out.

I have an older Santiago chica I'm supposed to meet, but don't want to call her until I get back from SD after checking out those prospects.

To be continued.

There are cabs from STI that will take one to Sosua correct? My flight would get in around 1.07 AM (Delta) and I'd rather spend a little extra for a comfortable / safe taxi ride from the airport to Sosua rather than stay a few hours in Santiago and then arrange for a cab or take the bus to Sosua. Can someone confirm this can be done? Is it safe? And for the 1.5 hour ride, what is the estimated cost in a cab?

I paid $90 using Jose Nunez. Good guy. 829-452-3005.In April, I paid 80$. Just walked out of the airport. One of the taxis there asked for $100. I countered with $80 and it was no problem.

However, if you're arriving at 1:00 in the AM, you may not have much bargaining power. Might indeed make sense to reserve a guy to wait for you there.

Booked a room at the Matum however, they don't offer airport pickup service. Does anyone know a good taxi guy to recommend, once with decent English would be preferred. But [Santiago] is filled with cute D Cupid and Badoo chicas. It should have its share. After all. 10% of the Dominican population lives in Santiago.

But also note that Santiago has the reputation of being the "classiest" city in the DR. The population in the Cibao is somewhat more "Spanish" and lighter-skinned than the rest of the country on average, so racially brainwashed dominicanas will often claim to come from Santiago to attract North Americans who are similarly prejudiced.

Most of them don't want to enter the name of their own shithole town or village to reduce the chances of their family, neighbours, boyfriends or husbands becoming aware they are offering their totos online or of panting gringos turning up on their doorstep causing embarrassment all round.

Frannie, which one is the closest?Los Jardines is closer to the road to Puerto Plata. Las Colinas is closer to Santo Domingo (I think). Los Jardines appears to be a bit closer to the airport.

Maybe it depends which road to Puerto Plata you mean, but if you mean the main highway, the route the Caribe Tours and Metro buses take, then Las Colinas is further from the airport. The Caribe Tours buses from SD arrive at Los Jardines, then go to Las Colinas, then on to Navarrete and Puerto Plata.

There is a Metro depot near Los Jardines but not at Las Colinas.

There is a Metro depot near Los Jardines but not at Las Colinas. The airport taxi would charge more to take anyone to Las Colinas. Los Jardines is a lot better, it is the central terminus and also has a great for ex changing facility on site. Additionally, as you say, Metro bus is just a 3 minute walk, another option to get to Sosua / Pto Pta.

There is a Metro depot near Los Jardines but not at Las Colinas.Yes, you are right. I tend to forget which is which. I got a taxi recently from Las Colinas to STI airport and paid 850 pesos, if anybody is interested.

There is a time factor too. I think the last bus to Puerto Plata leaves at 9:30 p. M, so if you are at the airport at 9:00 pm from the AA flight, you might be better off to take the taxi to Las Colinas and save yourself a few minutes while the bus makes its ways from Los Jardines to Las Colinas.

Similarly, if you are running a bit late to catch a departing flight, you might be better off to switch to a taxi at Las Colinas.

Hi O, what was your experience like at this hotel, please? Is it near any chica action? Thanks. The hotel is OK. It's historic so it needs an upgrade to be modern, but, all in all, not bad for the price. I forgot what I paid, but breakfast was included. The hotel is walking distance to the Monument and all the restaurants and bars in the area. In terms of chica action, there is a casino and late night club right downstairs so you can usually find some working ladies close by. In addition, there are sometimes working girls around the monument area.

The bus leaves every hour on the half hour from 1730 to 2130. The cost is 160 pesos. And you won't make the 1730 bus. It takes a while to get through immigration in Santiago.

Santiago Synopsis.

Gentleman I just completed a trip to Santiago from Sosua. This trip was an extension of my most recent Sosua / Santiago / Monti-Cristi excursion. The original plan was to spend 2 days in Sosua. 4 days in Santiago then end my trip with another 2 days. There was an impromptu opportunity to go to Monti-Cristi while I was in Santiago and when I returned I decided to cut the Santiago trip short and return to Sosua. The Santiago excursion only resulted in me spending 2 days on the ground. Since the trip was so short the information contained is not as exhaustive as I would like it to be however I hope for most it will suffice. This synopsis will cut to the meat of my experience in Santiago for those who are not interested in reading the entire Santiago trip report.

Below I have listed my notes for your review.

Santiago de los Caballeros.

Santiago is the second largest urban center in the Dominican Republic behind the Capital Santo Domingo. Santiago is considered to be La Segundo Capital because of its importance during colonial times, for brief periods it served as the nation's capital. Santiago is reported to be the intellectual, educational, and cultural center of the Dominican Republic. It is located in the Cibao valley and surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges that kiss the sky. This region is reported to be the wealthiest in the country. The population is just under 2 million people.

Attire.

Santiago- what to wear: Santiago like Santo Domingo is not Sosua where you can wear shorts a t-shirt and sandals. Both major urban areas have clubs and night life that require less casual attire. When going out at night in either town it is recommended to where a polo or dress shirt along with long pants and casual shoes that are not sneakers or sandals. You do not want to go out looking like a gringo pendeo. Enough said!

Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration

On a hill overlooking Santiago the marble monument began in 1944 on the orders of dictator Rafael Trujillo. He named it the "Trujillo's Monument to Peace." Trujillo was assassinated in 1961, after which the monument was renamed the "Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration", in remembrance of the Independence Restoration War of 1863, in which the Dominican Republic regained its independence from Spain.

The monument is absolutely beautiful at night because it is illuminated. It is the center of attraction for Santiago and also one of the primary places freelances walk the stroll after midnight.

Caribe Tours.

I took Caribe Tours from Sosua to Santiago, the ticket was 160DOP which is better than a $100. 00 taxi ride. I reflected on when was new to the Dominican Republic how I would spend more than I needed traveling across the country because I feared the unknown. Now that I have overcome my fear I realize how easy it is to travel across the country.

Miscellaneous.

Western Union is located on Avenieda Pablo Duarte about 5 minutes from the monument and 10 minutes from the Aloha Sol Hotel. The exchange rate was 43DOP. 1US.

La Sirena is located on Autopista Duarte about 10 minutes from the Aloha Sol Hotel. The hotel had a mini bar with a few items however I wanted my own refreshments so I got what I wanted.

Aloha Sol Hotel.

The Aloha Sol Hotel is a nice hotel with staff that was very cordial and helpful. The WI-FI and air-condition worked well. There was a safe in the closet but I made no attempt to use it. The room had a comfortable queen bed and an 18 inch flat screen TV. The primary problem I had was with the key card that had to be swiped multiple times before the door would open.

Santiago Casas de Citas.

All of the below listed venues had heavy security and you were either patted down or security used a metal detector wand to check you for weapons. The tarifas reminded me of the Punta Cana casa de citas with the set up and excessive pricing.

Passions Night Club looks like a regular night club inside but it was very dark and very difficult to see the chicas. My first impression was how much staff was on the floor. There appeared to be an army of security guards wearing Passions shirt wondering around. Most of the chicas were 7's and 8's and there were quite a few blancas, (with fake boobs and buttocks) for a minute I thought I was in Medellin Colombia rather than Santo Domingo Dominican Republic.

Many of the chicas were on their phones which I consider to be a turn off but asi es la vida. I found the restaurant that was connected to the club to be interesting because there was a television turned to Christian cable station.

Tarifas: 1 hour 3000DOP in house.

3 hours 4500DOP salida.

Illusions Night Club looked like a strip inside with the stripper pole and flashing lights. There were less than 6 chicas none more than a 7 in my book and I was not impressed.

Tarifa: 1 hour in house 4000DOP.

TLN salida 7000DOP.

Casa Blanca was a beautiful venue. You walked in there was a patio with a pool and inside was a very attractive club with couches and chairs. There were about 6 chicas ranging between 6-8. I was told that each chica could set her own price. For example:

Tarifa: 2 hours in house 3500DOP.

3 hours salida 4500DOP.

Santiago Car Washes.

Santiago is like many urban centers in the Dominican Republic where car washes serve as PFP venues also. There are multiple car washes throughout the city however I only visited the below listed venues:

La Colonia car wash is on Autopista Duarte. This is an outdoor venue with a dance floor where they played bachata and people could be seen dancing on the dance floor which was in the center. The chicas ranged from 6-7's and some appeared to be bored and others were entertaining their clients being lively and hospitable.

Each chica sets her own tarifa and the class themselves ranging from 3000. 5000DOP for whatever period of time you can negotiate. There was no salida I believe the girls pay a fee to the house for each client but I could not get the chica I was talking with to reveal the exact amount.

International car wash is also on Autopista Duarte. This is a dual outdoor and indoor venue. The chicas lounge outside and talk with one another as well as their clients. The inside venue looks like a club with a bar and D-J played hip-hop music.

The chicas in this venue were very attractive definately 7-8's and they were waiting to be chosen. The tarifa was 3000DOP for the chica and 500DOP salida paid to the house.

I went to this venue twice in the same day and there were more chicas during the evening than later a night I supect due to being with clients. At night there were quite a few men and a strip show for those who find that interesting.

Los Dominicanos ricos.

Plaza Hermanos Gomez Dias on Calle Pan Americana was a car wash that was clearly a cut above the rest. There were 2 separate outdoor venues on the same property. One venue had pool tables and seating and the other was a club with regular seating with seating and VIP seating along the sides.

First, almost every woman in the joint was an 8 and there were some arguably 9's in the house. Some of the blancas reminded me of Paisas they were that gorgeous. Some of these chicas. Excuse me mujeres had obvious attitudes like their shit didn't stink. The men were mean mugging me like WTF are you doing in our spot type looks. I was told the salida was 500DOP and some of the chicas go as high as 7000DOP but everything depended on the chica.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the BMW's I saw in the car wash. I don't know what the men did but judging by how security was tight and the look on some of their faces I wouldn't be surprised if some if not all were narcos.

This spot had a high class vibe but was very Dominican and was not for the faint of heart.

Semi pro venues.

Grand Slam VIP (El Cuarto Frio) located on Calle Principal 17. This was a hole in the wall hood joint where everyone was packed liked sardines. Quite a few people were smoking hookah and the music was blasting reggaeton.

Everyone in there seemed to be in their early 20's and almost every chica I saw was doable 7's-8's they were young tenderonies smiling dancing and having a good time. It wasn't the most comfortable place but I loved the authentic Dominican vibe.

This was not a straight PFP venue, I was advised the chicas will go with you if they like you and you slip them a little something for the salon in the morning.

Extacy Sports Bar located on Calle Pan Americana was a classy spot that put me in the mind of Classicos in Sosua. There were tables and couches on the walls with several VIP areas. The music was salsa and bachata and quite a few people were smoking hookah.

The waitresses were available for takeout for whatever you negotiate and the regular chicas were available like Grand Slam VIP.

The chica stroll Santiago.

The area around the Casino Pure and the Monument are known for street walkers of a decent caliber. Some look like PFP and others do not. I saw some 7's-8's in the area.

Calle Resturacion close to Parque El Chechas about 5 minutes from the monument is crack alley. There were a half dozen street walkers in the area mixed in with some transvestites. You can find 3's-5's in this area for 300DOP and there was a short time hotel in the area I did not check the cost because I did not want to get out of the car.

I am only reporting on this venue for intel purposes but I will pass on 300 peso chicas thank you very much.

Closing thoughts on Santiago:

• I did not do as much internet preparation for my Santiago trip as I have my previous few trips. I had one internet chica renege and one I chose not to follow up on which made this trip primarily a intel trip.

• Santiago is a major urban center that has neighborhoods and venues that cater to different classes of people; I saw the spectrum range from the very rich to the very poor. This does not only include restaurants and shopping centers but also PFP venues.

• The most recognized PFP establishments are expensive compared to Sosua standards. The chica who lives in Santiago can command twice and sometimes three times as much in Santiago than she can in Sosua. For the Sosua veteran this makes Santiago and unattractive location for PFP.

• Although PFP is expensive relative to Sosua standards there are more cabana short time hotels in Santiago than I have seen anywhere else in the country, therefore there is obviously a lot of PFP taking place.

• Santiago has the reputation for being where the light complexioned "mulatoe" Dominicans come from. I saw a spectrum from vanilla to deep chocolate. There are beautiful women in Santiago in all shapes sizes and colors.

• IMHO I would not recommend mongers go to Santiago solely as a PFP destination because of the prices but it is an excellent place to hunt for civilian chicas and go from there.

I have spent most of my time in the Dominican Republic on the north coast. Since I am considering the possibility of retiring there I have decided to branch out and see more of what the island has to offer. I deliberately booked my Santiago excursion close to my Santo Domingo excursion last month because I wanted to compare the 2 cities. I have read extensively on both cities on different boards however I wanted to have the Dominican urban experience first-hand as I continue to explore life and culture in the Dominican Republic. Now that I have had the experiences going forward I will be looking at other destinations such as Bonao, La Vega and Higuey.

What you showed was that you can HAVE good time anywhere in the Dr if you are willing step out a bit. You opened our eyes to things we had not seen. Great job.Yes, you can have a good time anywhere in the DR if you are genuinely interested in traveling, discovering the culture, and so on. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants, and public transportation, and you can find sex for pay pretty much anywhere you go in some form or other, mostly in bar and / or brothels.

On the other hand, if you just want to come for a vacation where the main purpose is to have sex with as many attractive freelance chicas as possible, then you really don't need to look beyond Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, and the stretch of the north coast from Cabarete to Puerto Plata. Outside of those areas the pickings are exponentially slimmer. I have been to places like Samana, Palenque, Jimani, San Francisco de Macoris, Sabaneta, etc, but they are of more interest to the generic traveler than the specialist monger. Santiago, certainly, especially if you are there for business, but it isn't exactly a resort.

Exactly Frannie. And remember that P4P in Santiago is damn expensive. I would like to disagree with Camaros conclusion that there are a lot of cabanas, therefore there is a lot of P4P. You see most of the Santiago cabanas on the road to the airport outside of the city. You have to remember that most offspring in Latin American countries live with their parents or aunts until they are married so they don't have a place to go to take their significant others; hence the number of motels. You will see the same in Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and everywhere else.

Frannie
03-20-14, 22:55
Has anyone found any yet?Depends on what you mean by culture, as there are many different types, for example agriculture, horticulture, counterculture, but the best definition for practical purposes is to say that the culture of any country consists of those delusional beliefs that the people of that country hold to be self-evident truths that anyone from outside that country can immediately see are false.

The English are one of the most cultured races, (believing, for example that the center of the earth runs through Greenwich, or good manners are inherited via a form of sexual transmission called good breeding, or Elgar is a great composer, or Bird's instant custard sauce powder is custard, or that anybody gives a damn what the panelists on Any Questions think) , though possibly not quite as cultured as the Scots and the Welsh. The English also believe that private schools should be called public schools and that public schools should be called state schools, even though Britain has counties, not states, and that There Will Always Be An England. The Scots also believe this, but want no part of it. The English also believe that the Prince of Wales will be King of England if he ever grows up and they wish the Welsh would do the same.

By this standard Dominicans also have an incredible culture. For example Dominicans believe that they are naturally superior to Haitians, or that red traffic lights are merely advisory. They have also invented several genres of music and dance, and perfected a more energy-efficient form of Spanish that almost complete dispenses with the letter 's' except in words like Sosua, and makes 'are' and 'l' and 'be' and 'v' completely interchangeable. They have also virtually abolished education altogether and so are able use the word "educada" to mean something close to what the English call "well-bred", I. E something that has nothing to do with education or breeding!

My comment was based on what some of the chicas told me about leaving the casas that most of the times they went to the cabanas in the area.

Would love to catch up with you on one of your trips. My buddy and I will be in Santo Domingo / Boca Chica 5/7/14-5/14/14. Any chance you will be around. If so your first few rounds are on us.

The cheap Hotel Rotunda is really where a lot of street walkers are on the beat at night, for quality, the Grand Almirante and Matum are best. Walk around the Monumental for a while, there's always a chica searching for money. There are numerous places to find chicas, Pasions is on the edge of town with a cabana on location, pricey for take out though. Still, I always stay at the Platino, private, no hassle to bring a chica to your room. Nice place. When taking a taxi always ask for the cost of the fare.

Great report. I'll definitely drop by the Car Wash on Calle Pan Americana next time I am in Santiago. Sounds exciting.

On a side note, last week end I took the brand new Circunvalacion Norte freeway To go from STI airport to the mountain road as a shortcut to Sosua. Exited on Av Luperon, then 45 min of pure joy zigzagging around potholes.

This said, it does bypass entirely Santiago and its bustling traffic. I am planning using the mountain road from now on, for all my daylight drives between STI and Sosua. I would not do it under darkness though.

Matum is. I cannot think of any place of a similar quality within a short distance. Having said that there is a place formerly known as Alberto's suite which is definitely walkable but at 1200/1300 pesos, it might be a dive for you. It is located on the other side of the Monument and may not look so clean even though it is completely safe.

The place is a major hub for local minibus and is definitely not clean. There are women selling themselves with a short stay hotel right at the corner as well but it is completely safe. There is no drug (that I saw but they are of no interest to me) or guns. Daytime it is a market place as well. I have had long interesting chats sitting inside colonial with fellow gringos, drinking beer and chicas asking for beer, late at night and all completely harmless. There is even a cooking trolley at night which has greasy fattening fast American food. Yummy! If one speaks Spanish, it can be an insightful experience, but perhaps not for all.

The action is spread out, except where the Colonial is, there are several hotels, but not a good area to hang out at night, lots of seedy people. Thanks, I booked a room at the Matum and will leave in the morning for Sosua.

Platino is not far but certainly not walkable. Matum is. I cannot think of any place of a similar quality within a short distance. Having said that there is a place formerly known as Alberto's suite which is definitely walkable but at 1200/1300 pesos, it might be a dive for you. It is located on the other side of the Monument and may not look so clean even though it is completely safe.I'm at Alberto's. 1000 pesos for room with AC. 800 pesos without. (I think my friend pays $300/month for a room without.) There is a catch though. I woke up very hot this morning. When I later went downstairs to tell them there was a problem with the air they told me they turn it off at 8am and don't turn it back on until night. The place is very clean although it is dated. A friend of mine actually lives here; that is how I found out about the place. There is no sign or anything. When I got here I parked and walked up and down the street looking for the place. I finally gave up and called my friend for help. He came outside. It just happened to be the place I parked in front of and didn't even know it.

In a recent conversation, a woman I know from La vega asked me for a tube of lube to bring along. I was surprised because, she is all wet when she is with me and so I asked her what gives. She after much heehaw, essentially told me that with the locals, it is like "wham bam, thank'why ma'am". She may not get the time to even be played to turn on the internal juice faucet and so she needs that lube stuff. It kind of reminded me of Pooter's discovery in the DR bars about local cultural practice, indeed confirmed it.

Funny thing is I have never bought or used lube in my whole life and so I told her that I will bring her the stuff but in exchange, I want her ass this time. To which she responded. Jajaja!

A woman I know for a while here, visited me last night. She is very much into dance and I travel with a bluetooth speaker to play music of various kinds including bachata to create the mood. Yesterday she insisted to teach me the few moves and it was nice staying close to a female body and follow the bachata moves. Two steps to the right and two to the left. She mentioned that she is good also with salsa, merengue, tango and so forth. I told her next trip, to arrange for a barrio party with san cocho for me. She would and that would be my first barrio neighborhood experience.

The woman can drink. I rarely drink and she almost drank one half of an 1 liter absolute vodka bottle and stayed sober. She is 22, white with curly hair and a pretty face and lovely smile with lusty red lipstick. I would like to post some pictures (she gave permission. If my contacts are not Dominicans) of hers -with bra / panty etc but do not know if it is possible to post here with access restricted. She is a 40 the, not finished school but smart and quite into music including Amy Winehouse. Which was a surprise for me. On the other hand, when I played the 40th symphony of Mozart, she was disappointed, she was expecting Mozart Parra, LOL!

One final note, before she left, she cleaned up the room, set the bed right, which was in sharp contrast to some others who even when told to clean up, do not have a clue. Wonder why.

Camaro's Santiago Day Trip Synopsis August 2014.

Gentleman I just completed my Santiago day trip excursion. This trip is a extension of my Sosua -Jarbacoa excursion. This brief report will contain my notes for those who are interested in day trips from Sosua to Santiago. Most of the information contained within will be known to veteran North Coast mongers but for newbies who want to explore beyond Sosua this template can be an asset.

Extended or frequent trips to Sosua can get boring and monotonous therefore we should be willing to mix it up and experience some new and different things. The 2 largest cities within reasonable distance from Sosua are Santiago and Puerta Plata and this day trip template can be used to travel to either location and you can be back in Sosua by night fall to do what Sosua mongers love most. Hunt chicas.

Below I have listed my thoughts for your review.

Day Trip Motivation.

Other than boredom there are additional reasons to consider day trips out of Sosua. If we look at the recent past actions of the Dominican government a pattern emerges. The gringo figures or establishments that were noticeably directly or indirectly connected to prostitution in Sosua have been adversely effected.

1. The owner of Passions was incarcerated for a period and his business was shut down.

2. Cuba-Dave the most vocal and visible advocate of Passions and CMP reportedly was asked to leave the Dominican Republic and not to return.

3. The owner of Rumba was briefly incarcerated and has left the Dominican Republic.

4. Most recently the primary promoter of the Victoria House pool parties was detained and extorted.

The evidence indicates that this thing of ours as we knew it in Sosua is on the decline and it is unknown what the future will hold. It is obvious from the aforementioned pattern that the government's intention is to change the face of Sosua therefore those who are interested in Dominican Republic and Sosua specifically as a mongering destination need to be prepared to flow with the transition.

Pre-Trip Preparation.

Pre-trip preparation can include many facets. For those who are anal like me there needs to be a plan in place that can serve as a road map. You can chose to drive off the map but at least you have something in place.

First and foremost there is the purpose of the trip yes that would be the chicas. You can work the internet to include Facebook, Dominican & Latin American Cupid along with Tagged and Badoo. Once you make contact you can whatssapp them and make arrangements. I realize many people prefer importing chicas to Sosua but for me since Sosua is still flush with chicas I have no desire to import unless there is some extenuating circumstance. Also I feel you have more control over your movements on their turf as you can abort on command. If she comes to Sosua and you don't like her or something goes wrong like her period etc. You are in a pickle.

In my case Ms. Santiago was a personal introduction and the day trip was going to be a meet & greet, eat and smash type encounter.

My preparation also included my diddy bag which I am glad I prepared. Since I was only going to be a few hours from base I only took a shaving bag which included condoms, lube, the charger for my phone and other personal items. The reason the aforementioned was important is because my cell phone almost went dead so I was able to charge it at the cabana and the cabana did not have any condoms.

Plan your activities which may include a tour of the Monument a mall visit or a restaurant excursion. In my case I did a straight cabana run. Once arrived I took a taxi to a cabana had lunch smashed cuddled talked and was back on the bus about 3 hours later.

I have no interest at this time in driving in the Dominican Republic therefore my preparation also included the 2 local bus lines Metro and Carribe Tours. The advantage to the Metro is it is right in Sosua next to the Texaco station on the main drag, however Carribe Tours is in Charamicos which is about 10 minutes outside Sosua and requires a taxi or moto-concho. The Metro bus departs 5 times daily approximately 2 hours apart. The Carribe Tours bus leaves more frequently every hour on the hour from morning until the early evening.

Transportation plans will also need to be made once you arrive in Santiago. If your chica does not have a car or you have no other means of transportation a taxi is recommended. There are taxis available at both the Metro and Carribe Tours stations. Depending on your Spanish ability and your savvy you could possibly get someone as low as 250 DOP per hour or agree to a flat rate for specific destinations.

Your preparation should also include a back up or alternative plans. For example you have multiple women on standby or other activities planned in the event plan "A" falls through. In my case had there been a problem I would have got on the next bus to Sosua and chalked it up as a loss. Once again I realize there are those who prefer to bring the game to the home court but it is important to know that there are other options.

Agenda.

My agenda was simple to break the monotony of Sosua, do a day trip to Santiago and meet a chica I had been speaking with on whatsapp for a while. I left at 10:30 am and I was back in Sousa by 5:30 pm in enough time to get rejuvenated and begin the hunt once again.

Lodging.

You have many options from using your chicas place to renting a hotel room or using a short time cabana. Santiago has no shortage of cabanas or hotels and it is just a matter of finding one that suits your taste.

Elysium Apart Hotel. Autopista Santiago Navarette.

This was a dated property with well kept grounds. The security directed my taxi to an open garage after which we went in. We ordered drinks and food and had a little foreplay while waiting. The room had a sitting area, dining area king size bed and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. There was a flat screen TV and the air-conditioning worked well. This was no Dulce Decreto in Sosua but it was more than enough for 500 DOP for 4 hours.

Note.

For those who are not familiar with Domincan life and culture the cabana (short time hotel) is an intricate part of the culture because many Dominicans live in extended families in one house therefore the cabana provides privacy for those who want to handle their business.

I have talked to several women who were eager to go to the cabana without thinking twice right after we met. In the case of Ms. Santiago she advised she did not want to go to a restaurant or any other such common US dating activity but she said "quiero ir al cabana por cervesa why otra cosas" I will say we enjoyed the "otra cosas!

Conclusion.

You may use variations of this template according to your pleasure. In my case I wanted something to do during the day in Sosua since I find it so boring until later in the afternoon. Another option is to get a hotel room and actually spend the night which I consider a viable option also especially if you really like the chica.

I thoroughly enjoyed my chica and I loved hearing her speak rapid fire Spanish because she was so passionate. My date was a petite flaca but she was on fire and I was turned on from the moment I saw her. The time money and effort spent was well worth it and I would surly do it again.

Once again you can use this template with Puerto Plata also because Carribe Tours and the Metro go there also. Puerto Plata is not as big as Santiago but it has its share of cabanas also.

Finally I will say that Sosua mongers need to quit sitting on the perch spread their wings and fly. There is so much more to see and do in the Dominican Republic.

Great report Camaro. You never cease to amaze. A few questions: Did you give her money? Did the taxi wait at the cabaña? I assume the cabaña that you went to was closer to Navarette, hence the name of the highway? I have never seen any cabañas located closer to the city. The only ones I know of are out toward Navarette way or the other way closer to the airport.

P.S. I'm in Spain right now and the language is a world of difference from that unintelligible Dominican mess.

The day I was leaving I mentioned I would give her 1. 5 k because she was not working. When I gave her the money she was as pleased as punch. I am not very familiar with Santiago the name of the street was given to me by the taxista. The taxista was from the metro station so he returned to the metro station and picked us up after we called him. Enjoy Spain maybe one day I will follow in your footsteps.

Have sweetie rolling in from PP to meet me at the airport. She is a big girl in every way. I have been working on her for a month. She is anxious to hook up. She likes remy Martin which means she will get a buzz. Women use drinks to loosen up and not have inhibitions. This is a good thing cause I plan to wear her out. She is a upfront non pro. Would like a big wallet. I will comply. She can only spend one day so there is no beating around the Bush. She has family trip for 4 days starting Thursday. Two possible hookups for Santiago. Always have a backup.

I read camaro s post which is amazing. An honest know where to on a Tuesday night. If you are staying close to el monumento, there are a couple of places. Try Ahi bar, restaurant and dance place. There is also another place just across Kukara macara, straight across el monumento, in the corner -don't remember name and typically Salsa / merengue singing live. On weekends, no food. Finally, there is a big disco in Las colinas mall, top floor. There was another place almost at the other end of town, close to hotel ambar, close to the autopista. Villa gonzales end but I cannot recall the name. These should all be open every day of the week. Ahi is my favorite.

How much should I pay a taxi from sti to caribe tours?I think the standard fare is about 800 pesos, that's a bit less than US $20. If you know a publico taxi driver and have a number and are prepared to meet the guy outside the airport, then you might pay a hair less, but it is hardly worth the hassle. Incidentally, people complain a lot about the cost of DR taxis, but they are much cheaper than in the US, both for long and short journeys, even though the cost of gas is quite a bit higher in the DR.

So after my not-so-successful day at the capital (see my report in the SD thread), I decided to head up north last Thursday. I was going to La Vega to meet up with a cupid girl, a young looking 25 year-old who has big jugs. Drove up the mountains to La Vega, enjoyed the varied landscape, and felt the lower temperature which was a pleasant respite from the heat in Santo Domingo. Waited at a grocery store for the girl to show up while appreciating the eye candy. Lots of pretty women here, wow. The girl pulled up on the back of a motorbike. After exchanging greetings, she told me how she couldn't come with me because, all of a sudden her baby became ill. She said, however, her cousin was available. Pointing to the troll that was at the helm of the bike. NO THANKS. I don't take bait and switches. BYE.

Where to? Kept going north, I had another cupid girl lined up in Santiago. A working girl not a "working girl" but one who actually has a job. How refreshing. Wasn't supposed to meet up until after she gets off work on Saturday. Well, after this La Vega bait and switch incident I might as well vet all these cupid girls out beforehand. Called her up and told her surprise! I'm here two days early just to take you to dinner!

Got to Santiago, had a couple of hours to kill, drove past the monument and saw a large crowd of people. The Cibao Expo. A whopping RD $25 for entry, no brainer. It was a week long combo of state fair and trade show. Lots of local companies had booths promoting their goods and services. More importantly, they all hired good looking girls in tight fitting clothes to work the booths. For a perv like me it was a license to ogle and take lots of pics. I will post them in the gallery section. (All fully clothed, sorry!

OK time to leave, and to call the girl for a place to meet up. By now my cell phone's battery is dead. Cruising the neighborhood frantically looking for a place I can borrow some juice. It was only 7 pm and all the shops were already closed. Yes there were lotto bancas and street vendors but not places where I can walk in and plug in my charger. Little different than SD, most shops would still be open. Then, bingo! Asian nail salon! It was so funny the reactions I got being a lone man (and a foreigner) amongst the women. Had a lot of fun talking to them, particularly a cute one. She teased me after finding out I had to get my phone charged up to meet a local woman. "So you came to our country, and you're a player / tigre huh?" Well I flirted with her back. "no no no I'm no tigre. I'm a gentleman; give me your phone number and I'll prove it to you. " And she did! (stay tune for the final part of my report where this cutie will take a prominent role.).

OK, phone charged up just enough, got in touch with the cupid girl. She showed up with, her teenage sister as a chaperone?? Nothing surprises me anymore. Went with the flow did my best to be charming through the dinner. Cupid girl has a pretty face but is very diminutive (short). Not my kind of attractiveness. After dinner, drove them home to the outskirts of Santiago. This was eye-opening. Mommy, daddy, brother, another sister, all lived under the same tin roof in a small house, with no indoor plumbing, on an unpaved road. The family was just so nice and pleaded with me to stay overnight. At this point it had been 36 hours since I last busted a nut. Two business days! Two business days and no pu $sy in the DR? Self-reflection time: What am I doing? Why am I here?

I need to get some guaranteed pu$sy. I am heading to sosua. Said my goodbye, and continued up north. It was almost midnight. Will I make it in time for the action on Pedro Clisante? After a frightful drive on the 1. 5 lane pothole-ridden twisty mountain road Luperon, the answer was yes, I made it to Sosua. And, I got my guaranteed pu $sy.

Your experiences are so real and normal. Rarely do our plans evolve like we hope. Family issues and chaperons can pop up. I like non pros as well but they can be a lot of trouble. I am convinced that SeMI PROS are the way to go. They know what you want and provide good service to get what they want. Cupid girls work better when you can meet them off their turf. You get them to meet you in another town it is fuck or flee. E I choose not to drive in the DR. If I lived there maybe I would make another choice. Not having a car has not handicapped me.

But like how Parkinsons was able leave at the drop of a hat when he had his eureka moment. It was already midnight. If he was on the bus then he would have had to stay the night and beat off. I went through the same shit last time I was in Santiago at my boy's house. Even chicks I had fucked with before were bullshitting around as if I lived in Santiago and was going to be there forever. I told my boy that I would lie down and take a nap and if these broads are not on the way by the time I wake up then I am off to Sosua. I woke up at 5 pm and took a shower and hopped on the road. And you know how that Murphy is. During the drive chicks started calling talking about they are on the way. Broad I already left that dump headed to the land of milk and honey.

After a two-night stay in Sosua (really nothing to write about, nothing to add to what's already been discussed ad hominem on the Sosua thread), came Saturday morning. I was supposed to go back to Santiago and to pick up the cupid girl (one who showed up with her sister as chaperone to our dinner) , but the more I thought about it, she just wasn't that attractive to me, despite the pretty face. Forget that, I'm going to hit up the girl I chatted up at the Asian nail salon instead. Texted her to get ready in an hour, I'd like to take her out for lunch; and she agreed. When she showed up, she looked even better than I remembered when I last saw her. This was the first "impromptu" date that I've ever had in the DR. Meaning one that's neither P4 P, nor pre-arranged online girl. I knew I had to play it differently, and was prepared to exercise some patience. At lunch I invited her to go to the beach in Puerto Plata, first she said no, she was supposed to go back to work. Finally my persistence wore her down and she relented. But she did tell me she was not staying overnight anywhere, and warned me not to try anything bad. Of course I wouldn't, I'm a gentleman. I was thinking just wait and see.

Long story short, we ended up spending the whole weekend together. I had to fly back to the US on Monday and really wanted to get back to SD Sunday night, but she begged me to stay. (Apologies to a senior board member whom I was supposed to meet up Sunday night.) On Monday, she even came along for the ride to SD, just to spend more time with me, then took the Caribe bus back to Santiago. (Just like the pre-Colombian folklore our grandfathers spoke of, how the native Dominican women would bid farewell to departing foreign men back then?) All in all it was a weekend of GFE bliss for me. She is a simple girl, she has a beat-up 4 or 5 year-old Nokia, instead of a Samsung Galaxy or an iPhone. She works 6 days a week- turned out at the nail salon. She wasn't a patron as I thought she was when I met her. I did give her RD $2000 for the days she was with me, simply because I knew she missed work and didn't get paid. So far now that I'm back in the States, she hasn't asked for anything yet.

A review on Santiago cabanas: Blue Castle, on the westside of town (towards Puerto Plata), is close to Elysium which I believe Camaro wrote about, is very nice. The room we used has two levels, jacuzzi and living room on the first floor, bathroom with shower, bed, and even a sex swing (on the second floor. Not sure how much for overnight stay, short term I paid RD $1000.

Helios, is on the eastside of town (towards the airport), is next to BoraBora and across the street from Passions night club. Stayed there twice overnight at RD $1700 per. The rooms all had different themes, one we had on the second night has a stripper pole and disco lights. Great value and clean.

Final thoughts: On this trip I had pros, semi-pros, and a civilian. I appreciate the different role each plays. They each met a different need. In other words, who knew how much more time I would've wasted chasing not-so-sure pussy in the middle of my trip, but Sosua stepped in. However, my trip would have been a BB+ instead of an A- if it weren't for the total GFE from the civilian.

Thanks for the info on Santiago cabanas I will be there this week and will try to use your suggestions. Good move on the civilian chica I have a couple I am working on for this trip my report will be forthcoming!

My First time in Santiago and it was an OK Trip. I've read other reports about the City so I decided to Check it out. I'm New York City Born and Raised so maybe I can relate to this city life in the. Are.

Got out the airport (STI) looking for a Cab, still normal rate is 20.00 to the city but what I did when a driver asked me if I need a ride, I said I was waiting on a cab and HE told me 13.00 a dude said ok lets go. So I'm feeling great LOL, The hotel I picked for the 3 day trip was the Matun Casino and Hotel. I got there and they ask if you have other people staying, no for you Santiago Vets they add a charge of 5. 00 for 1 girl. Now if you change who that person is from the original one its a whooping 900 pesos per chica.

I met a guy who was pissed about this because apparently they just started charging this 900.00 pesos per chica. So that kinda turned me off. I asked for a room away from the club but with WIFI. There is only WIFI in the lobby that's it. Not in your room. 2nd turn off. They do have a new little club in there I forget the name but its a lounge and they also have pure I think it was called. SO no matter what room you are in you here the thumping music all night long. I was there MOn. Thurs and they went to 6 am every freaking night.

I've lived in Medellin, Colombia for a year so I am 80 pct fluent in Spanish. Luckily for me. On my trip it wasnt that much Day time action as maybe you can find in Sosua or Samana or Puerto Plata, Badoo is your friend in Santiago. The plus about this trip is that prices are cheaper for food and things, maybe because its not a tourist area at all.

And people were very friendly. I met a ton of non working woman in the day time, was able to have relations with 2. The other woman I met were on badoo.

I'm a massage kinda guy so I had a contact in Santiago that refereed me to golds gym for a happy ending. I never made it, I didn't make it to the strip club either. But to sum this trip up its a great place to meet regular non chapadoras. Go out around the monument dancing have a good time with a pretty lady on your arm and good conversation.

Another Reason I went is because I was referred to this guy about airline deals and HE gets 30 pct united flights. I thought it was crazy but my ticket 10 days out was 651 got it for 420 , I will def use them again. I don't mind passing the email on to anyone else who makes last minute trips. The earliest they can book is 30 days out.

Happy hunting fellas I will be in Medellin next month.

I am Dominican born and grew up in Santiago and lived 20 years there so I know that there is no much action there as in Sosua, Puerto Plata and Cabarette. It is a nice city with a lot of pretty women and night clubs and in those clubs that is where the action is but is mostly local civilian ladies and nonpros looking for boyfriends that go to the clubs. I have friends that have traveled from the USA to Santiago and have fallen in love with the city and women there and.

Have somewhat gotten with girlfriends that they have to send money. To me that is more expensive that travelling as a monger. In my opinion is best and cheaper to stay in Sosua, Puerto Plata or Cabarette. The beach is there, the chicas are everywhere, and accommodation is so much cheaper than Santiago. I usually stay in Cabarette or Sosua whenever I go to the DR and take a Caribe tours from Sosua if I want to go to Santiago. Another way to get cheap flights is to go to google flights. I usually get flights under 400 dollars on that site within 30 days of purchase to either airport Santiago or Puerto Plata. I am also going to Medellin on the 17th and it is my first time there. Maybe I will send you a PM to get some tips from you for Medellin.

Camaro Synopsis Santiago October 2014.

Gentleman I have just completed the Santiago segment of my most recent excursion throughout the Dominican Republic. This trip will include separate synopsis reports on Sosua, Bonao.

The aforementioned reports will include anecdotes and my observations of the conditions and activities on the ground of each of the locations. This trip includes 2 days in Sosua, 2 days in Bonao, 1 day in Santiago and closes with 3 days in Sosua. This report will be more about Camp David Ranch and my experience there than a true mongering report because as it turned out no actual mongering took place.

Below I have listed my notes for your review.

Camaro's Perspective.

I originally started traveling because I was tired of the drama I was encountering in my domestic relationships. I made it to most of the major Latin American destinations we are familiar with before settling in the Dominican Republic. I had absolutely no experience with PFP before I started traveling. My typical domestic modus operandi was meet a woman in a club or other venue get her number, go out a few times and generally by the 3rd date I would smash hang around or move on. My experience was typical for most men in the urban community I was from.

The thought of directly paying for sex never crossed my mind in a million years. I know we say "you pay one way or another" which is true but I never gave a woman money after I had sex with her until recently. With that said entering this lifestyle was a culture shock to say the least. Not only do you have to change your mind set in terms of dealing with women, but in order to maximize your effectiveness you need to learn the language and the culture. Therein lies the problem; many people who enter this lifestyle over-pay get flim-flammed or otherwise entangled because there is no mongering school or university that you can attend that prepares you for this thing of ours. Therefore you either get sucked up, learn from your mistakes or glean from monger boards or veterans who will take the time to sit down and coach the novice monger.

I will continue my PFP excursions but I am becoming more interested in non pro civilians and semi pros because although they can be more work in my opinion they have the potential to be more rewarding long term.

I arrive in Santiago.

This trip was made after I returned from my 2 day excursion to Bonao. The gua gua from Santiago to Bonao was 200 DOP but the return trip was 150 DOP go figure? It was a decent ride back not many passengers and air-conditioned with only one stop.

The parada is in-between the Metro and Carribe Tours so finding a cab was easy. The taxista wanted 600 DOP to go to Camp David but HE got 500 DOP. HE has this stupid WTF look on his face and I was like "entonces?" Why do these guys think I am a stupido gringo? HE said HE would charge me 400 DOP an hour for my night excursion. Here is Dominican logic, 500 DOP for a 15 minute ride but 400 DOP for an hour. Can you say durrrrrrrrrah?

Camp David Ranch.

Camp David is a hotel restaurant and bar that is 3000 feet above sea level and it overlooks the city of Santiago. The view puts me in the mind of Medellin. Camp David is reported to be one of the homes of ex-President Raphel Trujio. It has since been converted into a boutique hotel.

It has been reported that Camp David has become the place where gentlemen of wealth bring their secondary women due to its location and ambiance.

I have a king size bed with a flat screen and a very spacious room with a balcony. Cell phone usage is spotty I suspect because of the elevation. The WIFI and air-conditioning work well.

Santiago Agenda.

I did not have a clear etched in stone Santiago agenda other than spending time at Camp David. I entertained the following options:

Renting a taxi for the evening and going to the Monument to hunt or going to one of the car washes I visited the last time I was in Santiago.

Ordering in at Camp David, it has been reported that some of the staff have an inside connect to pro's and semi pro's that you can order in. It should be noted this is done on the low. On my first trip to Camp David a waiter offered to call a chica for me but I did not take advantage of the opportunity.

I have several Santiago standby's as I have been internet fishing in the area for quite some time.

Frankly, I just wasn't certain what I wanted to do and did not put much energy into a plan since the primary objective of this trip was Bonao and not Santiago. I decided to contact Ms. Santiago at the last minute and below I will report my experience.

Ms. Santiago.

MS is a contact from Dominican Cupid over a year ago. We have chatted on and off for the past year. The problem with the internet chicas is it's hard to keep up with them all because there are so many. I came to the conclusion that MS was a semi pro for the following reasons:

When we initially made contact she had an apartment but was not working.

Her Facebook page has pictures with her wearing Jordans and Nikes, once again she is not working.

I had to rebuff a request for ayuda during one of our whatsapp conversations.

A fellow monger posted a photo of them together and HE shared with me HE gave her 2 k.

In the past we talked about a cabana run as well as when I flirted with her she was always receptive. We fell out after the ayuda request but she still remained a woman I wanted to connect with.

Ms Santiago part 2.

The bottom line is that I have had a hard on for this woman for over a year. She is physically very much what I am attracted to the quintessential flaca canela. I call and set things up and she arrives at Camp David and I am lyke WTF? She is 10 X more beautiful in person. Unlike Ms. Bonao she exudes the maturity of an adult woman despite the fact she is only 22.

Although my agenda was to hit because I thought she was semi pro I decided to go into my date mode. We sit on the balcony at Camp David looking at the stars she orders red wine and me. Wait for it. Virgin pina colada. Her eys are absolutely beautiful in contrast with the dark blue sky and she keeps smiling at me for some strange reason.

We shift gears because originally she wanted nothing to eat but now she decides to share dinner with me. I am having the authentic date experience that I have been seeking for so long. We talk about a myriad of different things to include the fact that mongers are sending and soliciting naked pictures and that is one of the reasons she does not like Dominican Cupid. After dinner I ask her "quiere pasar tiempo conmigo en privado?" She responds smiles and lights up the balcony and says "si!" Now I know I am in like flint. Ohhh yeah!

We get to the room and she offers me a massage. Now I know I am in! DAMIT I haven't had sex in 2 days. The massage is mediocre but mamma always taught me it's the thought that counts. So she interrupts the massage and guess what? The questions come. Lo que tu quieres conmigo? Tu quieres casarse en el futuro? Ohhhhh snap this is going south fast! Then she says "tu eres un aventuro" I try to explain I only travel alot because I am trying to find a place to live and "soy no mujeriego!

She starts with I am not that kind of girl and she has to get home because her mother is strict blah blah blah. So I respond in caballero fashion and walk her outside after we call the cab. I remembered Brooklyn Beas admonition about Sosua and told her I was staying in Cabarette. She insist she wants to come see me in Cabarette so I asked her about her mother and she says that's different because she travels throughout the country as a dancer on occasion and that would be her excuse. I told her on my next trip I'd take 2 days in Santiago to get to know her better and she seemed to be happy with my response. We kissed I paid the taxi and she was off.

Assessment of Ms Santiago.

MS and I were communicating on and off before my trip but she dropped off the radar for almost 2 weeks before we reconnected the day before my Santiago trip. I know she is semi pro based on a conversation with another monger. I suspect something happened during our break or when we met she decided to change her modes operandi with me. I couldn't bust her without humiliating her nor did I want to. I suspect she is in transition and she wants something more than what she has been receiving.

I have no intentions of being monogamous any time soon therefore in future conversations if she will agree to slow her roll I will spend more time with her because I really like her but if she pushes too hard well you know.

Closing thoughts on Camp David Ranch.

There are some distinct disadvantages to Camp David. First, its location is away from the city which makes taxi fares high. It also has a prime reputation in Santiago so taxi fares range from 1000-500 DOP depending on where you are coming from in the city. It should be noted that taxi fares in Santiago are generally about 200 DOP a trip. In addition cell phone coverage is on and off depending on where you are on the property.

Despite the disadvantages I thoroughly enjoyed Camp David the room was comfortable and the staff was attentive. The view from the restaurant balcony was nothing short of spectacular. Dinner was great with a diverse menu. I had a chicken dish with honey sauce which was excellent and breakfast in the morning was included.

Camp David may be a little more than some would like to spend but it was a unique experience that I will not soon forget.

Closing thoughts on my anecdotal experience.

In this thing of ours regardless as to whether we target civilian-non pros, semi pros or total pros there are no guarantees. In my situation what I thought was a sure thing turned out to be a bust. I can speculate on the reasons but in fact I am not exactly certain what happened, however my experience is not going to deter me from seeking more than simple PFP. As much as I love the ease of Sosua at some point it gets boring and I want to experience something different.

Going forward I will continue to mix it up with civilian-non pros, semi pros or total pros and let the chips fall where they may.

Conclusion.

After my failure with Ms Santiago I thought about hiring a taxi and going out to hunt but I was so tired from my Bonao travels I decided to call it a night and take out my frustrations on the chicas of Sousa I have 3 days to catch up.

My next trip will be the second week in November where I will explore Mao and Esperanza I will keep you posted.

Camaro,

In hindsight, do you think MS would've complied had you directly offered some "bling" when you asked her if she wanted to spend private time with you?

Based on your description of her situation, she has to be either well sponsored or strong SEMI. Either way she sounds like bull sh! T! at.

I stated clearly my intention to live in the Dominican Republic (which in fact is true) by taking a shot at the long game by playing the "good girl I am not that easy" her hopes would be I would see her as a potential mate. As previously stated she did not know I knew what I knew so I was one step ahead of her.

So she interrupts the massage and guess what? The questions come. Lo que tu quieres conmigo? My answer to this is always, "I want what you want." Also, at some point during the massage I would have put her hand on my dick if she didn't do it first. Sometimes you have to lead a horse to water.

She starts with I am not that kind of girl and she has to get home because her mother is strict blah blah blah. So I respond in caballero fashion and walk her outside after we call the cab. They can't stay with you when you are in town, but their family will let them go out of town. Why will their family let them go out of town? Where do they think they get the money to travel? Who do they think they are going to stay with out of town? So why not just tell your family you are going out of town, but instead you stay in town with me?

And see I would have told her I was staying in Sosua. Then I would have added in disbelief that it seems like there are a lot of hookers up there. She has to know if she is not going to fuck me then I will definitely be getting some pussy elsewhere. It wouldn't have been so easy to let her good thing get away if she knew that evil was lurking. You gotta balance the gentleman with the mannish.

I have an early morning 8:00 AM flight out of STI and was wondering which hotel you might recommend in Santiago.

I have looked at Aloha Sol but they show booked. Other possible options are Hotel Platino which is priced right and Hodelpa Centro Plaza which is more expensive.

Also it has been several years since I have flown out of STI how much time should I allot for pass through security? Arriving an hour before the flight seem about right for a smaller airport.

Thanks.

Try sending an email to Hotel Aloha Sol: reservaalohasol@yahoo.es. Often times websites may show a place as busy but writing direct helps and they will book without you having to give credit card info. You may write in English.

To be on the safe side I would get to STI at 6.30 AM, which means leaving hotel at 6.00 AM at that hour. Also check the airline website for flight delays which are not too uncommon.

Thanks.FYI the Holdepa runs a free shuttle to and from the airport which would save you $20+ on a cab ride. They also have a good breakfast buffet. The rooms are small but nice. You should keep this in mind and figuring out the price.

Thanks.I travel out of STI regularly and I always recommend 2 hours.

I know this sounds like overkill, but I'm former military and the attitude of "hurry up and wait" has its positive points.

Better 40 minutes early than miss flight by 4 minutes.

It all depends on what the crowd is like that day.

I have arrived on days with very few passengers and others when there were long lines at each phase (ticketing, customs / immigration, and security).

On crowded days, I'm glad I arrived early.

On sparse days, I take advantage of my spare time and smoke a cigar before entering the customs / security door.

Thanks.Hodelpa is pretty good, in Santiago I feel the options are rather limited but I have never gone wrong with the Hodelpa by the airport or the Gran Almirante. I would expect the Centro Plaza to be the same.

At the time you are leaving (8:00 AM) it's not that busy. There is usually just the DL flight in the AM which I have taken before. Get there (STI) an hour and half before and you should be fine, the morning flights are rarely ever delayed since the incoming flight is from the night before and it's on the ground for several hours. While the minimum for a checked bag is an hour before, I have been able to make it through with 45 minutes. I do have status with DL and that tends to help. I wouldn't suggest pushing it late however. The airport does not have much in terms of shopping or eating, once you get past security it is not very exciting. I've been at STI during busy and non-busy hours, it has never taken me more than 15-20 minutes to get through passport control and security.

Yesterday walked out of the gates of STI airport and negotiated a cab fare of 500 pesos to metro bus Santiago. Then paid metro 195 for the ride to Sosua. Also there is a claro store 200 yards from metro to buy a SIM card.

It blows my mind when guys pay $150 for a cab ride to Sosua. When a Dominican can make the same trip for less then 10 dollars and a half hour difference in travel time. Thanks for the heads up.

Booked into the Hodelpa Centro Plaza but they were full and they transfered us to the Hodelpa Garden Court for the same price. I must say it was a very nice hotel and less than 5 minutes from the hotel with shuttle service. A little expensive compared to other options but it was nice to have a good nights sleep before the flight home. Compared to SDQ the Santiago airport was a breeze both directions.

Camaro in Santiago Synopsis December 2014.

I have just completed the Santiago portion of my most recent excursion into the Dominican Republic. In my past trips I have done several date excursions into Santiago from Sosua, but this is the first time I have spent the weekend in the city. This report will contain my observations from previous trips as well as this current trip.

This synopsis will be a companion to my Sosua and Puerto Plata reports. This trip included 9 days in Sosua 2 days in Puerto Plata and 3 days in Santiago. I will do a report detailing my experiences in the other 2 destinations. Below I have listed my observations of Santiago for your review.

Zeus Cabana- Autopista Duarte.

In my future trips I will try to visit as many different cabanas in Santiago as I can to see the differences. The room was small comfortable and clean. There was a small couch and queen size bed along with a table and chairs that you can use for dining. I enjoyed the piped in music which was easy listening Latin music that was easy to make love by.

The condoms were not on the bed like many cabanas they were in the bathroom in a tray on top of the toilet. The food was decent. I ordered a cubano sandwhich sin queso and why did they give me a sandwich with cheese? The food order mix up was the only complaint I had. The room was more than sufficient to do the job.

Heilos Cabana-Autopista Duarte.

Heilos Cabana is less than 5 minutes from the International Car Wash, the property is very nice with fountains and great landscaping. The room was great with a couch in a small living room area, dining room area with tables chairs and mirrors on the walls. There was a decent sized bedroom with a sex chair complete with instructions.

One complaint I had was the music was jacked up with a lot of static so I could not set the mood with my chica. Overall the room was very nice and comfortable.

Pegasus Cabana-Avenida Rafel Vidal.

Pegasus Cabana was un-impressive the room was very small with a table chair and bed. The room was not divided into sections like some of the other cabanas. The music did not have a volume control nor did the air-conditioner have a temperature control. The room was very basic and not as comfortable as the others.

Platino Hotel & Casino.

The Platino Hotel & Casino is in the Platinum Plaza in Santiago. Although I had a queen size room it was much a much smaller hotel room than I am accustomed to. There wasn't enough room for a chair; the only place you could sit is on the bed which could present a problem with the wrong chica. There was a small refrigerator with mini bar the air conditioning and WIFI worked well.

Platino Bar & Lounge.

Platino Bar & Lounge is connected to the hotel. The restaurant and casino are in the same plaza but outside the hotel. I suspect this is a favorite hotel for mongers, one morning at breakfast I saw 2 older gentlemen with younger women that were very attractive; I will let you guess what they were doing the night before.

There is a balcony and upstairs and downstairs to the venue. Breakfast is included daily and the food is descent. The restaurant also provides room service. My biggest complaint not only about the hotel but about the restaurant is that everything has a cramped feel and is small. I felt like I needed more room to maneuver where ever I was on the property.

*I will give the Platino staff their props because everyone was professional and courteous and seemed genuinely interested in customer service.

*It should be noted that the Platino Hotel & Casino is approximately 5 minutes from both The Monument and Bella Terra -Mall therefore it is in a good location. However there is not much accessible in walking distance therefore you will need transportation.

Transportation.

For my transportation needs I would have the front desk call a taxi. For taxis you can negotiate an hourly rate between 300-500 pesos. The minimum taxi fare is 200 pesos. I spent about 1000 pesos in taxi fare per day but that is less than what I would pay to rent a car and I don't have to worry about traffic or gasoline.

Traffic in Santiago is not as bad as in Santo Domingo since Santo Domingo is larger but it can be horrendous at times. I was glad I did not have to maneuver through what sometimes was gridlock therefore my money was well spent.

Bella Terra Mall.

Bella Terra Mall is a multiple level mall with parts outside and parts inside with an open air feel. It was a nice mall however there were many spaces vacant which gave it a ghetto feel.

Migras Bella Terra Mall.

Migras is an outdoor venue (bar restaurant) in the entrance of the Bella Terra Mall. It has an excellent vibe the only problem would be in the event of inclement weather it would be uncomfortable. On the night I was there it was a little cool around 68 degrees but not as cool as it was in Sosua the previous week.

I absolutely love this place the staff and the food was great. They specialize in fruit drinks and other alcoholic beverages. After dark a DJ fires up the turn tables and it changes from an outdoor restaurant to a club atmosphere. There were a couple birthday celebrations while I was there. I highly recommend this venue and I surely will return on my next visit to Santiago.

Vitolas Cigar Club & Restaurant.

Vitolas is next door to Platino Hotel and has an indoor and outdoor section. Inside there is a cigar store and bar, I walked inside and could smell the cigar smoke so I decided to go outside in the open air section.

There was a cigar, food and drink menu. It was a much laid back atmosphere and the club faced the street so you could watch the cars go by and enjoy the evening breeze. The food menu varied from sandwiches to full course meals including steak and fish. I had a filet de mero which was very good.

*I noticed many restaurants put cheese on their mashed potatoes which is something I am unaccustomed to at home.

Please don't ask me where I was.

I wanted to get some change and a haircut but there was nothing in walking distance so I had a taxi take me around.

First he took me to a casa de cambio where you had to be buzzed in after which you are facing a window that is blacked out with gates in front of it. I cannot see inside the window and I am thinking WTF? So I slide my money in and get my change. That was the weirdest feeling I have ever had in a change house not being able to see the attendant changing my money. I got 43.5 DOP -1 US.

Next I went to a barber shop for a haircut and shave. The barber is working on me like he is a surgeon. After my shave he puts 3 applications of different lotions on my face and I left feeling like I had more of a facial than haircut and shave. How much? 250 pesos. WTF? In the US I pay $20.00 just for a haircut.

CONYASO!

The Monument of Heros.

It was not my intent to hunt for pros on the Santiago portion of my journey because I had a few non & semi pros lined up but everything fell through and I was left with an open evening. I decided to go to the Monument to see what I could find.

I took a taxi to the Monument and when I arrived I found the entire area alive and vibrant. There was a carnival across the street and the bars and food carts that surround the Monument were busy. You could hear music as you walked around the Monument and the area was full of children, teenagers and couples but I saw very few singles and no one who appeared to be working. This was around 10 pm but later when my taxisita drove me through the area around 1 am I could see some streetwalker traffic.

The Monument is absolutely beautiful at night because the lights that illuminate the Monument can be seen at quite a distance. The Monument makes for a great date location because you can ascend to the top of the Monument you can walk around it or you can sit on the benches and chill.

The International Car Wash.

On my maiden excursion to Santiago I visited La Colonia Car Wash and International Car Wash both of which are on Autopista Duarte about 5 minutes from one another.

The International Car Wash then and now has the best talent of any car wash I have been to in the Dominican Republic. Most women were 7's and arguably there were some 9's present. There is an inside club with bar and dance floor and an outside seating area with plastic chairs.

I met a chica at the International Car Wash last year and it seemed like we hit it off so we agreed on 3000 pesos which is the standard across the board for takeout for all chicas. I left to continue my recon and when I came back I was ready to take her bust she changed the price from 3000 to 5000 pesos. I have no idea what happened but I politely got up and walked away. I saw her again on this occasion but we did not exchange saludos but she kept staring at me while I was speaking with my new chica.

The rate is 3000 pesos for 2 hours and you can go to a cabana or a hotel. I generally do not pay 3000 pesos for ST but some of the women at this venue will make you think twice about what you are willing to pay. I would recommend the International Car Wash to any monger who visits Santiago. The 3000 pesos turned out to be money very well spent.

Dominican Time-Ahorita.

I experienced the meaning of "ahorita" this trip from taxis saying they were 5 minutes away and arriving 30 minutes later to chicas being up to 1 hour and a half late. While waiting for my chicas if I did not have a cell phone communicating with them on whatsapp I would have left them because they took so long.

Since "ahorita" is part of the culture I will need to get used to it.

Las Mujeres.

I had some incredible experiences with my chicas this trip. My selection ranged from a strict PFP chica from the International Car Wash to a semi pro med student to a non-pro civilian that didn't ask for a peso.

PFP pro.

The International Car Wash provides some of the best talent in Santiago. I clicked with my chica like we had known one another for years. I was quite surprised after many lack luster performances in Sosua. She not only was affectionate but after we were done she was in no hurry to leave and we actually talked laughed and cuddled for almost an hour after we were done handling our business. She gave me one of the best PFP experiences in my mongering carreer.

Semi Pro.

I met her on Dominican Cupid and after 3 whatsapp messages she let me know she was in the University and she was interested in "citas o amistad" we negotiated 3000 pesos TLN and I had a pleasant time with her. She was distant at times but not in a rude way kind of in a nervous way. Over all it was a pleasant experience.

Non Pro Civilian.

I met her on Dominican Cupid and when we met for drinks she was hard to read. One thing making the transition from pros to non pros is you have to be careful not to treat all women like prostitutes because many will be offended at the hint of money for sex.

She was hard to read because I did not know which way to go with her until I saw smiles when I happened to see the naked photos in her phone. On the second date she came to my room and everything started slow but ended with a bang. She was a biter and very vocal. In fact after one session she pulled off the condom and commenced to giving me a very good BBBJ it was at that time I knew I was not in Sosua.

My cost was taxi fare dinner and drinks. It was refreshing not to give a woman money after sex.

Conclusion.

Going forward I will be spending a lot of time in Santiago therefore I hope I can find one or two regulars that I can see frequently. Although I plan to live in the Sosua area I am not too excited about being there during the weekends so weekend excursions to Santiago will be right up my alley.

This trip only scratched the surface of what Santiago has to offer therefore I am looking forward to experiencing more.

I am flying into Santiago on 1/30 and arrive around 2 am on a Saturday morning via Spirit? Where would I find nice ladies and a cabana to kill a few hours until the bus stations open up? Limited Spanish skills and first time to DR so would appreciate any advice.

The Spirit flight out of FFL to STI was delayed because it comes out of NY and they were snowed in. I'm just over 6 feet and my knees touched the seat in front of me plus the pilot hit every bump in the sky. By the time I got to Sosua it was 6 am and my internal clock was all fucked up. It was my worst flight ever and haven't flown Spirit since.

If you read down Camaro just did a great report with all the info you requested.

Thanks so much. Your reports gives us so many more options for enjoying the DR. The details are so valuable. The women in Santiago.

Are very beautiful. I plan to use some of your tips when I am there.

Never buy this with Spirit in the exit row. They have a wall that blocks you extending your legs out. I was so pissed I paid extra for it. AA and Delta had me spoiled.

On Monday after rolling out of Sosua, I did some sight seeing before going to Santiago. I drove to the town of Monte Cristi, on the northwestern-most tip of the DR. The coastal cliffs and a secluded beach make for some breath-taking vistas. It was worth the drive.

During my time in Santiago I stayed at Hotel Platino and Helios. Great minds think alike, Camaro! The first night when I checked into Platino, the front desk didn't ask if I was doing single or double occupancy, and charged $1900. I didn't have any problems or getting surcharged when I brought my girl in. I have subsequently checked out, and then checked back in, Platino. And this second time the front desk asked. Without hesitation I told them double occupancy this time and they charged me an extra $400. I didn't see any guests there that gave off the appearance of mongers, but I did meet an older American couple joining their kids who've already been doing charitable work at a local orphanage.

In between my separate stays at Platino, we did one night at Helios. I was reminded of the problems I had with them on my last trip. Wifi didn't work, and fitted sheets that are too small to hold snugly onto the thick mattress. It's highly annoying when getting busy and almost possible to get a good night sleep. Imagine every two hours you toss and turn and feel your bare ass on the vinyl mattress. Oh yes, and as Camaro has reported, the audio control is terrible. All first world problems, I know.

One night I took my girl to Passion night club, the premier entertainment venue in Santiago. She asked if she could bring her two brothers along, innocuously I agreed. Of course guess who's picking up the tab for the bottle of Johnny Walker Black and the after-party late night cravings at McDonalds? Dominicans who want to show hospitality to their foreign guest? Or Mr. Thurston Howell III visiting the DR on his private yacht?

Afterwards I gave a polite but stern talk to my girl: yo, I don't mind treating you, or your daughter. But let this be the last time I'm paying for your ungrateful and unemployed grown ass brothers. This scenario was representative of the conundrum I faced between P4 P and "regular" girls. With P4 P, you know easily how much money you spend. Now I truly understand the age-old edict "you pay the woman to leave". With civilians, you wine them, you dine them, go shopping with them, quickly you lose track of how much you spent. And God forbid you get sucked into their lives. For this reason I'm not ready to knock some mongers who keep strictly to P4 P in Sosua. Perhaps they knowingly want to avoid this type of headache (and expenses, and time)? Mr. Gogo spoke of entertaining the girls' moms and buying school supplies for their kids. Congratulations and respect if you can achieve the perfect balance of happily paying for what you feel is right, and maximum return on dollar spent / pussy gotten.

Tempoecorto wrote about maturing from Sosua P4 P to "regular" girls. (let's just assume I've done that) - my next trajectory will be from "regular girls of median DR household income" to "regular girls with shitload of disposable income". But then again, why would that type want anything to do with me.

Merry Christmas everyone, happy mongering!

Merry Christmas everyone, happy mongering! You are correct you have to watch your cost with civilians they can easily end up twice or three times as much as PFP. I go in saying I am going to spend X and if my spending approaches exceeding X then I abort just like I would for PFP. I was fortunate on my last Santiago excursion I had a civilian that cost me drinks dinner and taxi fare and some of the best sex I have had in the Dominican Republic. If I can meet a half dozen more like her I will be one HAPPY monger!
