Come to think of it I haven't seen many hungry action-oriented chicas at the other airports either.
I was at the airport yesterday evening to pick up my boy returning from New York. I asked about taxi fare and $20 is about right. I'm retired military so have traveled overseas a lot in 27 years and never go into another country without local currency. Once here you learn where to get the best exchange rate. I know that currency booths at Miami are outrageously pricey plus the fee. My wife tells me Popular is essentially a national bank and you can exchange dollars without an account while here. And the rate there is actually decent. At 47 pesos per dollar yesterday.
That makes $20 US equal to about 950 pesos today. Last week was 900. That means that they would take a local Dominican for 900 knowing full well that if they ask for too much the customer walks. It all depends how much of a rush your in.
When you clear thru customs and exit with your bags you will see the exit area is blocked off and only passengers are allowed inside. And there are usually one or two plainclothes cops. Except they sport their sidearm for all to see] There is one exception to this rule. Taxi drivers will stand inside with little signs announcing they have a taxi. Who do they know?
Frannie is spot on about finding girls there. Arriving and departing is a family thing and individuals are rarely alone.

I'm sure it is obvious for you. But it will depend upon what you consider decent clothes. I like girls during the day in booty shorts or those tight fitting stretchy pants (puta pantalones), tight or low cut tops and flat. At night I like them in mini skirts or those tight one-piece outfits with cutouts and heels. Based the answer you received from the other poster I take he must be the type to only bring in decent women not hookers. I find that interesting. Can you tell me, how do you perceive that someone is with a hooker? Because that's a skill I'd like to develop.

It is more of a third world thing for lack of better words. You are better off calling. I was making a reservation in Philippines 2 weeks ago in which they sent a follow up email asking for my info. I emailed them with the info no more than 2 minutes after they emailed me. I have emailed them forwarding the same thing twice since then and still no answer. And this is a place that I stay in at least 3 times per year. I have had many of the exact same experience in other island countries as well.
My posts are not in chronological order, just writing when it comes to my mind. Some might think that this kind of info is not relevant to the mongering, but I think small things are important to make a successful trip.
Last week I stayed one night in hotel Platino. Didn't have any reservation and the hotel was quite full, so they charged me the full price.
The hotel is much further away from the monumento and the bus stations than what I had figured. The hotel Matum is much closer to those places. The staff at the reception and the security guys are really nice. But the rooms not so much.
- The executive room is very small and worn with queen size bed.
- The superior executive room is the same, but with king size bed and even less space around it.
- After seeing the executive superior I decided to take the suite. The suite was spacious and OK, but expensive. The price was more or less USD 100. Next time I will check out Matum or Hodelpa. The hotel had the worst breakfast of my trip.
Something very Dominican happened when we checked in. My traveling companion, la senora, asked if they have a room with a balcony and the girl said that she will check, if there is any available. After almost five minutes working with her computer she said that, at the moment there isn't any available. When we went up with two porters, they told us that there isn't any room in the hotel with a balcony.
The taxis are really cheap in Santiago. 150 pesos for shorter trips like 2 miles and 250 for longer trips. During the night slightly more. The next day I felt lazy and decided to go to Sosua with taxi. The price was DOP 3000. According the taxi driver the normal price is 3500.

There are a few banks all in the same block on Calle Del Sol, went to Banco de Leon, theirs didn't work either. Finally hit Banco Popular and got my dough.
Swung by Matum so I can get some grub from the food truck outside. Met the same girl I had a few months ago, I didn't want to repeat. There was no one else to my liking so I moved on. Saw a few street girls on Avenida Salvador Estrella Sadh, first block after making a right from Autopista Duarte, across from Wendy's. Rolled down my window to chat, upon closer inspection damn they were all trannies. Not judging LOL just not for me.
Went back to my hotel, Hotel Jardines. The doorman was quite enthusiastic about finding me companionship. He made a few calls, whoever it was sent back a few photos. I told him to ask how much, replied US $100. Before I could say no, the girl was on her way. She came by, a 7 I would give her on looks, held firm to the US $100. I told her no way, the most I would do DOP 3000 for TLN. She gave me an attitude said she could go somewhere else and get her US $100. The pimp / driver came back picked her up and promised another girl on delivery. I said DOP 3000, BBBJ, minimum 2 pops or nothing.
He came back with another, no better than a 7, but seemed more cheerful so I took her up. This chick definitely is bi-polar, laugh and cuddle one minute then cold and disagreeable the next. I had a similar problem with my new "chip" card in Boca Chica. Banco Popular took my card but also charged a 180 DOP vig for my trouble. Another bank there had an ATM that would not dispense any cash, but did not charge a fee. It merely gave a message that said "Please take you cash" and no cash appeared! Imagine my shock, but a quick check of my bank account showed no withdrawal. I am getting the feeling that our gringo cards are not universally accepted everywhere in the DR. Any one else have any suggestions of which bank chains offer lower fees. My otherwise noble credit union hit me with two additional fees, as well! An ATM network fee and an "international fee". Got to get one of those Schwab bank cards.

The rooms are fine, for comparable or lower price to Hotel Platino you can get more space and windows. Most Platino rooms are claustrophobic small and interior, no day-light units. Breakfasts are included as well. Not sure about taxis because I drive a rental car, but I'm sure the front desk can call one easily. If the doorman can get you pussy then he sure can get a taxi.

The weird thing about Banc Reserves, it always worked with my Schwab card. I'm not sure what policy changed.I live in Santiago and use my Bank Of American VISA. It's a chip card too. I find almost all businesses I use are set up for chip transactions. As I understand the policy, if a chip is approved the bank covers the loss to the business. If it's not a chip card the business absorbs the transaction loss if not a valid card. Never had a problem. But would warn users to be sure to let your bank know in advance of your use of any bank card here in DR.
I'm also going to put a plug into BoA's Travel Rewards card. I'm sure other banks have similar cards or offers. For me, I do all transactions on the card because there is no transaction fee OR any fee for currency exchange. And the exchange rate is usually better than you'll get here if a vendor tries to calculate the amount for you.
I insist all transactions except Uber which is in dollars already be recorded in pesos to take advantage of the exchange rate benefit.

Santiago doesn't sound like a mongering destination.Au contraire, Santiago is indeed very much a mongering destination. Don't let my previous report dissuade you. I just didn't choose to partake some of the options. In Santiago there are the street walkers; the carwashes like La Colonia and International Gozamba; and clubs like Passions. All within a reasonable distance. I think you're a budget guy like myself, and may not want to go everytime for the carwash girls (4000 pesos) or the Passions girls (5000 pesos). I don't think the carwash girls are worth it, however it can be argued that the Passions chicks are. On our last trip, out of all the places and women in Sosua, Santiago and SD, my friend still can't stop talking about the Passions chicks.
Santiago trip report continues. So last week after I left Sosua, I stopped by Santiago again before continuing my way south to the capitol. I had decided not to stay at a hotel but randomly picked a cabana. I went to Venus on Avenida Rafael Vidal. I told the attendant I wanted to stay all night and I wanted to come and go as many times as I want. He said not a problem. For about a span of 12 hours he made me pay 2250 pesos up front. You know what? I may never stay at Platinos or Jardines or other hotels again. The rooms are generally bigger at the cabanas, more amenities (like stripper pole or sex swing), the AC always works, etc. In Venus' case, the bed is heavenly comfortable, the linens are of much higher quality than Platinos' or Jardines'.
On this night I was to hook up with my civilian girl, so before she could finish putting kids to bed and be ready, I drove around a bit. This was on Sunday, the day before Independence Day. The parking lot of International carwash was completely packed. I continued onto La Colonia. More packed than usual, but not crazy. They had fully nude strippers dancing in the middle "stage", and when they finished, they would give guys lap dances (not sure how much). The two strippers I saw were both Venezolanas with their super fake tits, super fake asses and stomachs with every gram of fat liposuctioned out. I stayed a little then bounced.

I was a bit put off by the late night arrival however, and realized that lodging or excessive nocturnal transport costs could eat into any perceived economy. Yes, I am a budget guy, and always appreciate tips on how to keep it affordable. From a tourist standpoint, is there anything else of interest in Santiago? I enjoy history quite a bit and really enjoyed walking the Zona Colonial in SD.
Just walk around the monument and up the tower for a few hours, you can't miss it, especially the baseball player statues. Go at night and you will see some nice streetwalkers displaying their wares. There is also a great yet inexpensive restaraunt on the north side of the monument where the staff wear cowboy gear. The cabanas in Santiago are also supposed to be real nice if you have a date. I haven't been to the cabanas there but that's what I heard. Perhaps others can comment on that. Enjoy!

Took Caribe Tours to Santiago after 2 days in sosua. IMO sosua is a looong way from 2012 or 13.2500 short time is the norm. Many chicas want to give covered bjs. I had a good time, but it took a little work.
Anyway, stayed at the Jardines in a superior suite. Appx 60 $, breakfast included. No complaints. Hit plaza international for food. Some cuties. Checked out bella terra. Hit the car wash on Gomez Diaz. Some 8's. They can't leave till the bar closes. They can't even dance a bachata with you anymore. Crackdown I guess. Got numbers but not prices. Fine chicas in Gozamba. Didn't hit lovera or level because it wasnt the weekend. Ended up smashing a Facebook contact. Took effort but she was good. Gave her 2500. Ill definelty be back. Santiago has plenty of potential, but will never be easy. Any contacts would be appreciated. Be back soon!

Landed today-1st time in DR from NY easy flight w Delta though not cheap.
After the Nazi customs fingerprint taking, fee paying and what not greeted by my pretty non-pro from Macoris and her 2 sisters! Loool.
Security.
Dinner at some cowboy spot and at a funky bar after.
She's coming to Almirante tomorrow daytime to get served some gringo cockerspaniel.
I paid for food.
When I got to the hotel at 01 AM I asked reception to call cab to take me to cash point and further into the night.
He took me to ATM, then to a casino with GDPS for me to inspect, then on to a boate w gdps where he waited.
I took a girl 2500 pesos and we jumped into my cab and he took me to cabana where we had a crazy time. Once I got her fired up she was every bit as crazy in bed as Brazilians and I'm a Rio vet.
She was a latina / negra who sucked a mean one and let me do it all. CIM etc spent about 2. 5 hours with girl then I was tired and jumped into the waiting cab and he took me to Almirante.
I gave him 800 and Cabana was 500.
About 100 $ US in total.
Good first night.
I have 7 non-pros lined up in SD so will go there Saturday but will also check casas. Which knock shops / Boates w take out / in-house are poppin in SD fellas?

Good to see that you finally made it to DR.
I was checking the Booking. Com site for hotels and noticed that there is a new hotel, Palmetto, with good reviews (grain of salt always recommended). Has anyone any experiences of this hotel. May be worth staying before the cucarachas take over. The price is some USD 50 per night.
I booked a pair of girls from www.clubchica.com for the weekend. I had been in contact with Henry who runs the site for a week or two; he sent lots of pictures of girls not on the site and helped me to select my pair.
When I went to the meeting place only one showed up. I texted Henry and he said she had texted him that she was going to change and would be there soon, then she completely dropped off the radar and never texted back.

El campo can also be used to describe a suberb or the equivalent in the dr. One of my main chicas I've been seeing for years lives in teneras. Teneras is considered el campo de San Francisco. Jetblue announced yesterday a new nonstop service from FLL to STI. Fares Mon-Thur start at $99 each way and are slightly higher the rest of the week but not by much. In addition the flight times are fantastic. 8:30 am flight out of FLL and 11:50 am out of STI.
This is a game changer for me as far as I'm concerned.

As this was a surprise, I have not had time to prep like I normally would for a trip like this. I have read the last two years of this sub forum as well as the general info one and it filled me in pretty well if I was going to be traveling on a vacation, but I am still a bit fuzzy on how things will work in my particular situation.
I will be in town for five days with four other co-workers whom I would rather leave out of this part of my life. I will likely be busy most of the day with some free time later on, likely after 9 pm. I am staying at the Hodelpa Centro Plaza hotel. I won't have a car.
Considering my limited opportunity and time, I am hoping to maximize my chances for some decent action. I read that the monument is a good place to find women, and it does not look like its that far from my hotel walking. Is that safe? Or is there a better way to approach this? I saw a ton of references to the car wash and other clubs, but I get the impression they are not going to be great options for me considering my situation. A strip club sounds appealing, especially with the option of bringing a girl back, but I have had a hard time finding a list of clubs and locations so I can see if any might be possible.

I'm an expat who just returned from Santiago a few months ago. Uber is fantastic there adn will charge to your credit card. Be mindful if your CC does not have free conversion fees are killers. Exchange in Miami is possible for pesons but exchange rate plus fee destroys any benefit.
If you have time in country any bank will exchange and give you top exchnage rate.
Central is a nice place but distant from the city and not good for visits unless you have them come to you. And hotels tend to be a challenge. I often used an agency based in Santiago or could offer some great digits but need to do so on PM.

Unlike Sosua, Santiago is not a town that only does one thing. There are places in Santiago where women are available but there were a couple of police / Law and Order intervention and some places that were frequented by overseas guests, closed. The local car wash places are mostly for locals and needs time which you seem to have very little of. You can try the McD next to where you would be staying but you need again, time and some conversation skills. I can only think of the casino (Hotel Matum) next to the monument, and also perhaps the other one (Aloha del Sol) next to your hotel, where I have read that women are available at times. I personally do not go look for women in those places, reason why those are second hand account.
I could give you a couple of contacts but these are, being regular people, mostly available during the daytime or early evening but I would encourage you to try the casinos, especially at Matum. All walking distances.
You can certainly pay people in USD cash. That would be more than welcome by the receivers and you would likely be overpaying but most likely that is the least of your problems.

You order Dominican pesos from your bank?No, this is my first trip to DR. Most of my trips have been North America, Europe, and China. For those locations, the bank has worked out great. I just go to the website, put in my order, and the money shows up a few days later. The exchange rate has always been fair in those cases.

I'm an expat who just returned from Santiago a few months ago. Uber is fantastic there adn will charge to your credit card. Be mindful if your CC does not have free conversion fees are killers. Exchange in Miami is possible for pesons but exchange rate plus fee destroys any benefit.
If you have time in country any bank will exchange and give you top exchnage rate.
Central is a nice place but distant from the city and not good for visits unless you have them come to you. And hotels tend to be a challenge. I often used an agency based in Santiago or could offer some great digits but need to do so on PM.

There are places in Santiago where women are available but there were a couple of police / Law and Order intervention and some places that were frequented by overseas guests, closed. The local car wash places are mostly for locals and needs time which you seem to have very little of.That right there was super helpful to me, thank you. DR is well known for its Cabanas. Rent by the hour rooms w / shower, TV, etc. Imperial is just down the road toward the city. There are several closer to you at different rates. Uber will pick you up and take you there and if you ask pick you up.
Club chica has limited pics, but has many more options. He will send you pictures. I have some local digits but sorry, won't share on a public forum. Girls end up getting harassed. The guy that runs it is an intermediary only. I've seen the change in his web site format noting additional fees, but whenever I've told him what I want he works out the details and I've never paid extra.
If you do not have WhatsApp on your cell, get it. You can video, voice or text call US and in-country easily. Locals use it a lot as a standard text receiver to avoid text fees. I have kids still there so use it both to US and back at no cost. It will also allow video and picture transfers.

My guess is that they may be on the street right in front of the airport. Because the way Santiago airport is set up, when you come into the driveway you have to take a ticket. Then leaving out you have to pay 25 pesos. But it is a short distance to walk. There is the building, driveway, 2 rows of parking, little patch of grass, then the street. They just as well may be inside and make the customer pay the parking fee though. Just order it on your app the same as you do anywhere else and see how it turns out.

We are talking about a country where you pull on to the side of the road and pick up random strangers. The most that would happen is an inflated price, but your belonging will be safe.
Remember taxis in the DR are not marked as they are in other countries. They are just older normal cars with the plastic taxi sign that you can probably get anywhere. Personally I would opt for the Uber instead of those raggedy ass taxis that you are going to pay 3 times as much for. Hell with Uber you have the driver's picture and license plates on your account. For a regular taxi you don't got shit.

I just moved back stateside four months ago, but lived in that area for three years.
I've stayed at Hodelpa several times, on first arrival and with my family a few times afterwards. I consider it one of the classier places in town.
There are always "Club Girls" hanging around the entrance wanting someone to take them inside. They can't enter without an escort. They're easy to spot dressed up in their prom-style dresses.
The front desk staff are accustomed to having guests go up to a room but will take the guests cedula and hold it until they leave. For your protection. They turn it over to the police if there are problems and since the girls value that cedula they behave. There are several agencies working the area and you can negotiate prices in spite of what they say. Check out Dominican Backpage. If you had PM I would refer you to one I believe has the safest opportunities.
If you're going to be there a few days consider chatting with one of the night security guys. Offer a 200 peso tip, max 500. Selling your body is not against the law in DR, but pimping is. Just comment that you wish you could find a cute young chica to spend some quality time with. If they respond move on otherwise don't ask that person again. If they can get the girl to you without any hassle it's worth the tip. Especially if you can see her or a pic beforehand. They know the girls and can also set you up. Keep in mind there is a tendency to markup the cost. Many of the agency girls want $150-200 which is outrageous. I know, cheaper than the US, but crazy for DR.
Everyone who lives there has the number to their taxi driver. Speaking Spanish, even a little helps. Tempe's offer is good. You're paying for the drive from town out to the airport and then back to Hodelpa. It's a drive so 1000 pesos is OK. And don't tip. That's $22. If you have to take a taxi at the airport, and there are plenty, they will ask for $20, which they will convert to pesos later. But that's less than 1000.

Arrived at STI airport around 12 am and was lucky to find one out of the five taxis in the " fleet " at that hour. The ride was $20 and took 15 minutes.
Walked into the first single room and when the door opened my knees just about hit the bed. Super tight squeeze. It reminded me of rooms in Europe.
I upgraded to a deluxe single for $54. Better for me but there is a huge column in my room that competes with my space! Mini Bar and light snacks on display. Free internet and computer downstairs.
I love to walk so today I strolled the area on all sides to see what I have close by:

Mercado Nacional Supermarket.
Farmacia $4 for freaking dental floss!

I spent few days in Santiago last week. I took the Caribe Bus (www.caribetours.com.do) from Santo Domingo. Ticket costs 300 peso. The 'El Monumento' is the main attraction. Around the Monument on the south side, there are several bars and restaurants. Even on weekdays there is decent nightlife. These bars are regular bars. If you speak Spanish and can approach girls, you can find woman here. My favorite place was Ahi-Bar.

Before 5 in the afternoon, it is common to see people playing dominoes, drinking alcoholic beverages, and doing other risky activities.
Avenues and streets, in the historic center and the metropolitan area, from 7:00 pm to 3:00 pm, are blocked, mainly in the morning.

Was in Santiago. Personal business trip. Traffic was heavy. People were heavy on the street. Everyone had a mask on. Very compliant. No social distancing viewed. No lines for stores only for the banks. I have an excellent full service dental office if anyone is interested hit me via PM. Completed my personal business and rolled out. It's a cultural thing, Dominicans depend on each other and share to a large degree. A mother enjoying such luxury, will think nothing of taking leftovers back to feed her kids, or even taking an item off the menu home.
That's considered a no no in polite NA society, but here we're talking about a dirt poor country.
I, and many other ex-pats with a regular lady, often find ourselves interacting with their family members, visiting their homes. They are generous with their hospitality and try to give you something special that they can't normally afford. They'd think nothing of you picking up piece of fruit to take home.
I remember a thread here where a poster complained about a chica in his room, taking a banana without asking. Bananas, are free or almost free to the locals in the DR, especially compared to the liquor and potato chips you might be feeding her. So for her, no biggie.
Of course for the monger, who finds this behavior unacceptable, it can be easily solved.
First of all, you have no obligation to feed the family of a chica you are fucking. So do not put yourself in the position of arranging to meet them in a restaurant in the first place. A coffee shop, or an ice cream parlor is all you need.
If you must make a show for your "lady", and invite her family along, take control of the drinks and menu orders, do not invite them to order carte blanche from the server. You the bossman. They'll respect you for it.
Or, invite them to a pub, or an inexpensive place where nothing on the menu is over 400 pesos. They'll still respect you for it.
Do not give up control of the budget, or the situation, otherwise it ends with everybody getting pissed off, and even worse, as that old story posted here showed dramatically.
My regular chica prefers to cook, because, as she's always reminding me, it's cheaper, healthier, and tastes better.
But, on the rare occasions we go to a decent restaurant, I always make sure there's a little something for her to take home to her kid. A slice of cake, a sandwich, whatever. Everybody is happy and a happy chica can do wonderful things for you!
I had no issue providing food for her kids while she is with me nor the cost of the food at the restauranrt. What got my goat was her ordering food without my consent. Most of the common problems of mongers, visitors and ex-pats come down to either the inability to say no, or the lack of consistency in applying it.
Sport fuckers, point and click mongers, weekend warriors don't run in to this problem so much, but a lot of these mongers become regular visitors and some of us become residents who want more than an unemotional mechanical hour with a sex worker, and the problems they sometimes bring. They, (we) develop relationships with chicas who satisfy them, and like the reliability and even companionship of one or more steady and predictable chicas.
Guy's like me and OldKool would fall into that category, and a lot of frequent visitors, and ex-pats here are looking to find that situation, a "regular" chica who can bring reliability, stability, predictability and guaranteed satisfaction to their lives. She can even develop into a "girl friend", more or less what you would like to find back home.
In the DR, being what it is, she can also give you access to her friends, extended family, so you can have variety too, including newbies, and freshies just starting out on their P4 P careers.

Of course, you can't have that kind of solid relationship without have at least some basic interaction with her kid and / or family. Just giving her a little money for her birthday party, or attending, gets you there. You might want to join her to visit her folks up in the hills, to see how they all live, and enjoy the hospitality. If her mother's in town for a medical appointment, you might want to give her a ride to the hospital.

You'll inevitably be asked to help financially with some family problem. How and when to say no becomes important.

Most guys are human, and see no problem with helping out. But that can lead to further dependency and expectations. The road to hell. Everybody down there gets sick at some time.

In my experience there's tiers of so called "non Pros". Meaning girls who do not do this as their sole source of income and don't hang out in Hoe pick up spots like El Conde or Pedro Clisante.
Tier #3. Mercenaries.
Mercs are chicas who may or may not have a job and usually have a boyfriend or husband who usually knows what they are doing. These are girls you'd meet at say a coffee shop in the tourist area either working there or "just happens"to be there. Usually speaks some to decent english. A Merc is all business she doesn't want to be seen with you in public and as soon as you say Ï'm Coming". She's going. 'nuff said.
Tier #2 The reservist.
The Reservist will usually have a job not have a claimed significant other (or a very understanding one) will hang out with you non sexually in public and is willing to do non sexual tasks for you I. E cooking, cleaning, Teaching spanish and dance, negotiations, and procuring other women for you. This is tier 2 but it's really Tier 1. You want a girl that you pay that doesn't lovebomb or gaslight you instead of one playing on you and trying to turn you into a western union novio. If she procures other women for you try to fuck her from time to time because she knows that she's not losing you to another woman and she's less likely to send a bad chica to you if she knows that she has to answer to you or blows you over a bad chica.
Usually I pay around 1500 to 2000 DOP plus taxi but if I'm spending the day with a reservist then I usually give 1000 for the sex and around 300 pesos rounded up to 7 hours plus taxi.
Tier #1 the Regular.
The regular is the one that the delusional monger thinks they want but actually don't want. Not to anyone in particular but I met several mongers especially of the lightskinned variety who monger in dark skinned countries taking advantage of their xoticness" and the "Halo effect" of people who have good PR despite violently taking over half the globle, being percieved as "rich" and willing to marry chicas. Don't plan to rent a car (heard they have special tags that police target for bribes, and really, don't' want to worry, be responsible for, or think about a car) but take uber instead, they seem cheap enough there, unless there's good reason not to. New to the the are but not new to international traveling, third world countries, watching my back, etc. Know how to defend myself but prefer to have no reason to and avoid trouble / trouble areas. I speak decent Spanish, getting better but definitely not fluent. I'm not a flashy person, I know I will stick out like a sore thumb but don't plan on walking around with jewelry, a visible wallet, with my phone out, etc.

1) Don't go to Santo Domingo, unless you love the big city pollution and chaos.
2) Santiago is good. Relatively smaller and the online apps would get you contacts. Hotel Calle del Sol is a good option, smack in the middle of the city.
3) Go to Sosua as soon as you could. Small footprint and surprise, plenty of white expatriats so you will not feel singled out. Germans, Russians, Italians, yes, Canadians too! Great European restaurants, over and above the standard DR fare and the ubiquitous hamburgers / fries plus a nice beach to boot. You can easily spend a week there or two.
4) Don't worry about crime, it is not an issue unless one does the obviously dumb things, like getting stone drunk in a bar where you know nobody. As an aside, DR severely frowns upon drugs (whereby one getting caught could be a target of the law).
5) Any hotel would allow guests with the right ID. Not so clear cut with Airbnbs.
6) Check out Los Charcos de Damajagua, a weekend getaway thing if physically challenging things like waterfalls catch your fancy.
7) Check out "Cayo Arena" - you have to go to Punta Rucia for that where you can spend the night. There is a French restaurant in Punta Rucia and by that I mean it is run by a French person and food is scrumptious.
8) If you still have time, go to Las Terrenas. Lots of Expat French live there and you can do whale watching if that is your thing (I did that in Boston and so I am done, LOL).

Got a cab from sosua for 6 k pesos and asked while on the way if he would be cool with stopping by the monument so I could get some pictures. It was cool. A guy showed me around and told me that he hosted an orphanage and asked for a tip to show me around the place. I told him I didn't have any money and he still took pictures of me. Back to the cab and he accidentally took me to calle del sol but luckily Hodelpa Central Plaza was right up the road. I booked it with points just to have a place to stay until my 2:45 am flight back. I check in and take a walk around the block to see the museum right around the corner and see the people of Santiago. The city was bustling compared to El Batey. I have a date lined up for 7 pm with a domestic worker from tinder. She has aspirations of owning a clothing line. I come back from the museum and try to catch a nap but being in the center of the city it was nothing but blaring horns and I might've dosed off for 10-20 minutes max. I get up and try the restaurant upstairs for my welcome drink. The view from up there and the balcony was honestly fascinating having never been to the city of Santiago. I have the sancocho and an espresso. My guest went to the salon and ran about an hour late. I'm going to be coming in around midnight to STI and going to Sosua, so I was thinking of getting a cab from the airport to one of the cabanas and then going the next day to the Santiago bus station. I've heard about cabanas but never used them. In this case just for sleeping. Any recommendations? Do they have pricing for the whole night vs 4 hours? They seem more set up than most hotels for easy late night check-in.
Buses leave from Santiago as early as 530 am on the half hour. I have a driver I can refer to you for airport and Uber for your trip to bus station. The Cabana should be about 20 bucks for four hours. More time is available if you need it. It is a good plan If you have a Santiago chica have meet you and you start your trip on the good foot.
