Anyone know if Campo alegre is open yet?How would Campo be open? With what girls considering the borders to / from the D. R. N Colombia are closed? With the need for social distancing and masks. Come on, people. Think. Just a little!

Campo won't be open until maybe some time in 2021! Probably not until 2022 after some refurbishing, and a host of legal changes on the island, and only if there are vaccines and therapeutics and COVID is over.

Curacao just started opening their borders up to receive some tourists from a select few countries--and now the virus is back on the island so they may be headed for lockdown again, and are going to restrict flights again.

Its like some people here are too horny to have any sense of reality.

Ridiculous.

Anyone know if Campo alegre is open yet? There are several issues that need to be resolved before you can indulge in the Carnal Pleasures of Campo.

Read this article first, it will give you important information about Curacao in 'The Times of CV19'.

Curacao Has Reopened Tourism With Some Restrictions.

https://www.traveloffpath.com/curaca...who-can-visit/'.

Where YOU have been prior to jetting into Curacao is the first hump you need to get over.

If you are in the US, you are shit out of luck.

Due to the piss-poor job the US has done in handling the Coronavirus,

Travelers from US are Not Allowed in many countries.

It will take till the end of the year, or longer, before the US can hammer these infection / death numbers down.

The US currently has 1,000 deaths a day with 4,000,000 cases in total.

#1 World Leader in Death & Infection.

Not very pretty.

Curacao has Containment Standards that the US will not meet for many, many months.

Until the US Government reduces these massive daily increases in CV19 Infection to Zero.

Few if any countries in the EU, Caribbean, Central America or South America will let Americans in.

Really can't blame them for that.

US did the same to China, Italy & other countries back in March & April.

As of July 1 Only Travelers from these countries can get admitted to Curacao:

Aruba Belgium Bonaire Canada China Eustatius France Germany Italy Netherlands Saba St. Maarten Spain.

If US Restrictions don't apply & you are coming from a country on the list, pack up your sunscreen & enjoy.

But there is also a totally different problem................

"In June, 2020 Campo Alegre went Bankrupt.

The Campo Alegre brothel is bankrupt.

Two companies went to court on Tuesday to file for bankruptcy.

The judge agreed to that.

This includes a cleaning company that has not been paid since December.

There is also a tax debt of almost 7 million guilders. (US $3,900,000).

Campo has been closed since March due to the corona crisis.

In addition to the 150 sex workers who work on a temporary basis.

84 more people, supporting staff, are now on the street. ".

https://www.curacaochronicle.com/pos...e-is-bankrupt/

If you are looking for a place to Party, best get on Google.

Then check out what the Action looks like there.

Good Luck.

Crappy weather where I am today, so what better way to escape in these times, but to be in the Caribbean. Or at least fantasize about it. Forums have been kind of quiet with real time updates. Guess a sign that nothing is happening due to the pandemic. I know that Mel is sailing to SXM next month. Hope he is able to get off the boat at some point. Will be interesting to read what he has to say about the situation in St. Maarten.

Unfortunately, I'm writing off any trips to the Caribbean for the foreseeable future. My guess is until a viable vaccine is established, there is no way we will return to normalcy with mongering as we knew it pre-COVID.

I'm sure that there will always be options via the internet when one visits the islands, but escort services aren't my cup of tea. I like to kick the tires and look under the hood, even before a test drive, let alone making the big purchase. With that being said, here are some thoughts regarding Curacao. If and it's a big if, Campo ever reopens, I'm guessing Curacao is done. I don't see Campo reopening in these times, unless a miracle happens. Furthermore, it went bankrupt and if a vaccine for COVID was available tomorrow, Campo would still be off the radar. The Curacao Chronicle is a good online source of information to keep abreast of what's happening on the island, for those looking to keep up to date. Also, Curacao is really clamping down on the Venezuelans on the island. I never partook in Cubaweeg, but I know that the borders (the sea) are being more monitored than ever. The Dutch military is providing assistance with the Coast Guard to intercept boats headed to both Curacao and Aruba from Venezuela. Furthermore, the USA Military operates FOL's (Forward Operation Locations) at both Hato and Queen Beatrix International Airports for drug intercepts and surveillance. In other words, FOL is a kinder, softer word than Military Base. They've just extended the lease agreements. No wonder Maduro and Venezuela have been so well behaved, when the USA Could basically hit Venezuela with a sling shot!

Then again, there will always be freelancers working the world's oldest profession. Will just have to work harder to find, and then run a greater risk since nothing is being regulated.

Wondering how much more of a ghost town San Nicolas in Aruba could possibly become? But I'm betting that house on the outskirts of the RLD with the rough, older Dominicans still has it's door open! They probably have developed every antibody possible to mankind. The virus solution could lie there! LOL! For those that have been to San Nicolas, you know the house I'm talking about in the back alleys.

Here's a shout out to our man on the ground in Curacao, Torso. Feel free to add your perspective. And to Mel over on the SXM forum, who I know reads this one as well. Happy sailing and have a safe trip. Looking forward to what you encounter in SXM, once they let you on shore!

I found an article about Campo from June 2020. This is the "NOS" newspaper from the Netherlands but translated into English by google translate. Looks like investors are waiting for virus Covid to end. Here's what the former manager of Marlon Regales said: . "Marlon Regales is not concerned about Campo's survival. " It is now closed due to bankruptcy, but the business model is strong, especially when a casino license is issued. "According to the former manager, investors are waiting until the corona pandemic is over, to create the opportunity for the oldest profession in the new normal ". Here I will try to link to the article https://nos.nl/artikel/2336831-groot-openluchtbordeel-curacao-sluit-na-71-jaar-maar-voor-hoelang.html A copy of the article here: "Large open-air brothel Curaçao closes after 71 years, but for how long? ".

Dick Drayer.

Correspondent Curaçao.

After 71 years, Campo Alegre in Curaçao comes to an end. The open-air brothel was established by the government and the Catholic Church to protect Curaçao's own women against moral decay. Campo already had millions in debt and the corona measures were added to that. This week the last 24 sex workers left; now the resort with 150 tendon rooms is empty.

"Mi amor, como estas, how are you?" I get a big smack on the cheek from Reina, the Colombian queen of prostitution in Curaçao. At least, that's what Marlon Regales, who held sway over the camp for years, thinks. Together we sit on a bench outside Campo. No one is allowed in because of corona.

"I've been coming here for 24 years and have a large clientele. They now give me money to survive, but as soon as the borders open in Colombia, I have to leave. Until then, the government will pay for the electricity and I do not have to pay room rent, but there is also no sex, "says Reina.

The adult resort can be recognized by the green fig leaf in front of the entrance. Campo is reminiscent of a Roman army camp from the comics of Asterix and Obelix with high walls and a special, tightly guarded entrance. Inside the camp, the army tents have been replaced by barracks, where the sex workers received their clients.

The concept was certainly unique in the post-war era. Women received a work and residence permit for three months from the Curaçao government and rented a small tendon room at the resort themselves. What they earned with their sex work was theirs, as long as they paid the rent of 65 euros a day. After three months they had to leave the island for a year and were replaced by 'fresh' forces.

The American army, the Dutch state, Shell and the Roman Catholic Church were just after the war in favor of the establishment of a state brothel, although the Netherlands had a brothel ban and the church officially rejected prostitution. But with the establishment of a brothel, the 'evil' of prostitution could be contained and venereal diseases combated.

Girls from Curaçao were not allowed to work in the camp and that has remained so to this day. You mainly found women from Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

Curaçao initially managed to keep prostitution fairly under control with this tolerance construction. Yet for a long time there has been a hint of drug and women trafficking around the open-air brothel and prostitution has moved to the city in recent years. "With the closure of Campo, prostitution is now moving all the way to the city center," says Regales.

And that is possible, because with the arrival of thousands of Venezuelan women who are fleeing their country without papers because of poverty, the offer is large. Most of them work as a so-called 'trago girl' in a snèk, the Papiamento name for the local bar.

"Trago girls make a living selling drinks to customers," says Marisella Flemming of Famia Plania. "But if a man wants more, it can be arranged outside. ".

Her Family Planning Foundation is taking illegal Venezuelan sex workers seeking protection under her 'medical' care. They receive food packages to survive through the Food Bank.

Future after corona?

"There is no more work and the male customers are also without income", says Flemming. "Food is necessary, of course, but they actually need money to support their families in Venezuela. They are even worse off. ".

Marlon Regales is not concerned about Campo's survival. "It is now closed due to bankruptcy, but the business model is strong, especially when a casino license is issued. " According to the former manager, investors are waiting until the corona pandemic is over, to create the opportunity for the oldest profession in the new normal" (end of article).

This is an article from the "Curacao Chronicle" link here https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/local/mc-william-more-illegal-prostitution-and-more-cases-of-hiv/ Mc William: "More illegal prostitution and more cases of HIV".

LOCAL.

By Correspondent Nov. 5, 2020.

WILLEMSTAD. According to Member of Parliament Giselle McWilliam, the closure of the Campo Alegre brothel has led to an increase in illegal prostitution in Curaçao. According to her, there has also been an increase in the number of HIV / AIDS cases. She has sent a letter to health minister Zita Jesus-Leito.

McWilliam wants to know from the minister if the government has an action plan to address the problems.

In her letter, McWilliam relies on two foundations that report an increase in HIV / AIDS cases. There are no official figures yet. According to Mc William, it also plays a role that in recent years various undocumented women have entered Curaçao and are active in illegal prostitution in various neighborhoods.

Question, if Campo does not get a Casino license, will it reopen? Are any upgrades and repairs being done by new owners or was the place vandalized after closing?

CORO. A Curaçao hitman, who received a blue alert from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), was arrested this Tuesday in Coro, Miranda municipality of Falcóand state in Venezuela. Julio Alberto Guerrero, 33, nicknamed "Kuchi", was arrested on Calle González, near the José Leonardo Chirinos bypass, Parcelaciones Sur Independencia, where officials of the Bolivarian National Police assigned to the Department Against Theft and Theft of Vehicles, carried out an operation to search people and cars.

"Kuchi" tried to evade the arrest and even tried to persuade the officials that he was deaf and dumb, however, once taken to the police headquarters and questioned, he revealed his true identity.

Consulted in the Interpol records, Julio Alberto Guerrero is listed as a suspect in the crime of Werner "Wenchi" Mingeli, 43, committed on September 27,2016 in Erosweg, a crime commissioned by the Colombian mafia, as well as in the triple murder on July 15 of that same year in the Campo Alegre parking lot in Curaçao, where, with 66 shots, he killed Richenelo Emereciana, 22; Irving "Pulúand" Rosa, 35, and Cristed Leonard, 21.

Julio Alberto Guerrero, appears in records as the leader of a gang that operates in Curaçao and whose criminal incidence is the assaults on banks, casinos, as well as the hired assassins or murders on request. He records previous arrests for illegally carrying high-caliber weapons such as AK-47, AR-15 rifles, as well as Glock pistols, used for his criminal operations.

Curfew Curaao to seven o'clock.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent April 1, 2021.

The new curfew on Curacao applies from April 2.

Willemstead. The government of Curaao announced yesterday that the curfew will now start earlier. It was at nine o'clock in the evening but will start now at seven o'clock. The measure will take effect on April 2. Curfew ends at 4:30 in the morning.

The reason is the enormous number of infections that reached a record high yesterday. 506 people were infected in one day. Due to the development of the British variant, the Curaao Medical Center (CMC) is now full and almost all IC beds are occupied. Extra beds are available, but there is not enough staff to staff them.

Due to the earlier curfew, restaurants also must stop their take-away earlier. The doors must be closed at 6 pm Trucki'pans or BBQ stands can open at 2 pm For take-out and delivery. But at six o'clock they must close.

The government also announces that it will review the number of exemptions. 30,000 applications have been submitted.

If there is any news, please post it here. Thanks. They won't open until they can import Dominicans and Colombians who are vaccinated and only after the numbers in those places go down enough so the girls don't need to quarantine upon arrival.

Curacao is lagging behind in vaccinating their own people compared to Aruba and bonaire where most people are vaccinated and the numbers of cases is very low.

That's why Aruba now has a little action.

Anyone from south America has to quarantine for 10 days on bonire (5 days if they pay to test out0 so bonaire's pachis place won't be open until that changes-after Colombia vaccinates its peoples.

Bonaire went from over 500 cases in March to 8 now. They vaccinated most people. Now nobody in hospital and all is open there. Aruba has vaccinated 63% of their people-and cases are around 55 out of 105,000 people. The vaccines work -- the hospitals are small in these islands so they have to keep control of the virus.

Campo will open when the the. Are. And Colombia get their shit together.

As far as I know Campo went bankrupt. So they are not opening back anytime soon.

As for prostitutes, you can try the Venezuelan bars but it is not going to be easy. You might find some if you spend a lot of cash but since Curacao closed border with Venezuela and a lot of them have been on the islands for like 2-3 years already and Curacao is a small island they do not want to get associated with prostitution, a lot have boyfriends and or kids and living with them here on a small island and doing sex for money is a no no. So it might take some time to get to know her and let her know your intentions but be ready to pay at least 200 dollar for pussy.

Take a taxi ($ 6) from the border to the Hong Kong club and right next door is the Adelita club. The clubs are very safe and prostitution is legal in this part of town (Zona Norte). However, prices are more expensive than Campo. - Hong Kong club: sex $ 80 to $ 100 and room rate $ 30 per half hour. Adelita club: sex $ 80 and room rate around $ 21 per half hour. Mexican girls in the club look like girls from Colombia. Take a taxi back to the border. Both clubs were closed in 2020 because Covid. FWIW, I'm spending a few weeks in Curacao and was looking for a fun way to kill a little time, and I wound up booking a threesome at exoticescapecur.com. It was a couple of girls and an mama in a small house in a fairly non-touristy part of town. About $350 for a double with two PALGs from Columbia. Not the most intimate experience, but the required acronyms were there: BBBJ, MSOG, LFK and CFS. Definitely not super skinny model types, but hot curvy Colombians who were gtg. One of them spoke enough English for basic conversation and could communicate my desires with the other girl.

Took a couple of tries on WhatsApp to get a response. But once I got through, the communication was great and straight-forward.

I ever got here while Campo was open, so it was good to find some action. Recommended if you find yourself thirsty on Curacao.

Well, unfortunately you're in Curacao with Campo shut down and COVID still on the radar. I've only been to Curacao once, but to save you some reading time on the board, you may want to check these venues out.

1) Supposedly on Cubaweeg, there are Venezuelan bars. I drove on this street during the day and couldn't find squat. It's not too far from Campo. My ride was during the day but couldn't discern anything that resembled a bar, and I'm pretty good at logistics. Ask around, either store owners on the street, locals, or a bar nearby and maybe you can get some better intel.

2) Again, Supposedly there are streetwalkers downtown near the bridges. I've never indulged because Campo was the honey hole! In fact aside from getting off the plane, getting to my Airbnb apartment and getting some food and beer, I lived at Campo during my trip! LOL. Never even made it to a beach.

3) Lastly, you can check out the most popular beaches (Mambo?) on the island and whatever beachside cafes might be nearby during the day, and see what might be open at night. You may get lucky with some freelancers that are on the island. Only problem with these three options is you are rolling the dice. No medical check-ups for whatever you may latch on to regarding a chica. And you may latch on to something more than just the girl that could put you in sick-bay yourself.

If you have any luck on Cubaweeg, report back! Happy hunting!

Thanks for the tip! I'm here for a while longer. Any idea on where else to look to find talent? Or how to connect with indy girls? All the information on this board right now just seems to be people complaining about Campo being closed, but no actual good info on where to look.

All the information on this board right now just seems to be people complaining about Campo being closed, but no actual good info on where to look.Try to use GOOGLE MAPS for directions its your friend! Curacao is also on google street views so its easy to navigate use either bird-eye view or street-view to recognize places and buildings it not that difficult.

Ok so as Ted mention there is cubaweg but just before you turn on Cuba weg (coming on Roosevelt weg) there is this new Colombian bar hidden in the back of the food station called La Fogata. Its not marked on google maps on the right place so try to find Cons fitness center. On the parking lot you will see the food station in front of you head inside and go straight to the back. The best time to score some latinas from Friday to Sunday between 9 p. M and up (there is a curfew in place so you'll have to change your time frame its going to be hit and miss anyways).

Next you want to stay straight on Cuba weg pass the cross point with the speed bump then keep straight for a small minute and look over your left hand side for 3 bars located next to each other one is called: Rico Melao Bar its marked in google. Not sure if its open but the best one next to it is! There is no cover nice renovated club with Venezuelan girls mostly working for a trago / drink and up to negotiations.

You can also try this other club at schottegat weg west its marked on google under: E Faborito not the name but at least it will get you there. Inside there is pool tables, booze and ladies.

But remember curacao is on curfew right now so most of these places open earlier and closes early 9 ish so people don't like to go out that early so a lot of places is going to be hit and miss with women and their quantity any time.

If you love the beaten path try this spot on Winston Churchill weg its marked on google as: JIXIANG carwash & maintenance again not necessary the name but it serve the purpose for you to get there. The parking lot next to it there is a club / restaurant that get going as early as 6 p. M lot of freelancers any giving day.

Good luck whatever you choose. Shout out to TED good to know you safe and healthy bro.

Now back to my corner.

Nice to hear from you my friend! Appreciate the shout out and the detail intel you gave to the New York guy! Being in proximity to New York felt obligated to reach out and try to help a fellow guy from the Northeast of the USA.

So, a few quick questions, and I was going to send you a PM, but figured all the mates would want to hear your take on the situation. Guessing you are still on island (Curacao). So, I read the Curacao Chronicle daily and nothing about Campo. What are you hearing on the street?

Have you driven by the property as of late? Any big commercial real estate sign out front indicating the property is for sale, or any construction vehicles in place for demolition and development? Sad to say but I think Campo has seen it's last days. As I mentioned in a previous post, this is a prime piece of real estate and some developer can make things happen here.

However, maybe if we got a bunch of members from the board together and created an LLC, and we each ponied up 10 K as seed investors. What a heck of a portfolio holding that would be! With unlimited visiting rights to boot and all the residuals! Who's game? I'm a a finance guy by trade. We have to have other professionals. Lawyers, real estate investors, bankers, etc get on board. Even Mel!. And I promise we will keep the same name. Although I am tempted to change it to Club Ted! LOL.

You raise a very interesting idea for Campo. I for one would be interested if finding out more about how this would work if it gains any traction.

Ted,

I drove by 2 months ago but there was not much going on only stray dogs sleeping on the parking lot. Not sure if there was any security in there because the gate was closed and locked and the security cabin full tinted there wasn't any car parked there so that say a lot. I met a security guy that use to work at campo working at another regular club he told me campo was overrun by looters recently so that much is going on there.

I am not an expert at all on this topic but from what I know campo was already financially unstable and struggling way before the pandemic. With poor management, poor administration and a lot of debts they had no backup to sustain the business and went bankrupt soon when the pandemic started.

Campo had a special permit to have this kind of operation on the island that goes way back. It was the only place allowed legally on the island for prostitution and recently where already under investigation by united states authorities for human traffic. Curacao was high on the list for human traffic and campo was always mentioned which of course put a lot of pressure on local government and the Dutch government in Den Haag Netherlands. There are several reports about this including money laundering and failure to report tax. So even if they managed to get over all of this and sell the property there will be still that issue if the government is going to allow this type off business again. Time will tell but one thing is sure they won't give any permit for this type a business here unless they find a way around this pandemic.

There is some fun to find on Curaao. On the "Scharlooweg", right opposite house number 7, next to the parking entrance, is a small place where some Spanish speaking sit outside, waiting for some business.

Also three websites offering massage with happy end:

Well, unfortunately you're in Curacao with Campo shut down and COVID still on the radar. I've only been to Curacao once, but to save you some reading time on the board, you may want to check these venues out.

1) Supposedly on Cubaweeg, there are Venezuelan bars. I drove on this street during the day and couldn't find squat. It's not too far from Campo. My ride was during the day but couldn't discern anything that resembled a bar, and I'm pretty good at logistics. And you may latch on to something more than just the girl that could put you in sick-bay yourself.I'm just still so sad I discovered campo by accident on a cruise to the ABC islands and got to go once and then a few months later covid hit and it will likely never be open again. Such a disappointment to find a hidden gem like that. Perfectly legal, prices stupid cheap. I planned on going to Curacao for vacations just to enjoy the weather and campo! My one trip feels like it gave me blue balls for curacao for life. Hahaha.

Recently visited a very nice chocolate lady. Great body. Beautiful pretty woman. That gives good erotic massage services with body to body and happy ending (fine handjob, oral or penetration).

Little by little she undresses her lingerie, until she's completely naked.

For parking you have to see for yourself where you stand in the area, but her location is private and beautiful inside.

She has her own website where you can check out her sexy photo's and select a service on the price list.

I'd say it's worth a try and highly recommended if you are looking for something with a good happy ending!

Campo was a 24 hour store with Colombians and Dominicans available. Price for ST was $30 with room included. Black beards ain't any of that. The pros about black beards is that they can import fresh batch on a regular because the girls that works there comes from the very same island instead campo had to import a 100 girls every 3 months.

Campo is currently closed and probably will be closed fo a while. Looters stole almost everything in Campo. AC, machines, fuse box, light bulbs, anything they can use. The previous owners cannot run it anymore. In the meantime some former campo girls and the girls who would like to go to campo arrived on island working in Scharloo area and through whatsapp. Most will stay for a week others a month or 2 . Prices range from 50 guilders to up too 400 for a 30 min sex depends on if you are a local or a tourist / foreigner. I must say none of these girls are tested for STDS since they all work illegal.

There are also some fly-ins. I know of some rich guys sometimes fly in former campo girls or other prostitute from Colombia but most will not work with other clients only with the rich guy.

Vene girls are willing to pay for play on the island but very discrete because some have family or sponsors but are willing to have sex for money to get more money to send abroad. The thing is most of the young pretty ones have sugardaddies paying big amount of money and giving them cars and paying apartments and money so they do not work in bar or nightclubs. If you can not compete brining in 3500 usd or more she will not leave for sugardad. The ones without sugardads are mostly old or fat.

For me it was once and I was like wow this place is heaven on earth and then bam covid hit and it closed and I felt like part of me died hahaha. For the money I don't think you can beat it whatsoever anywhere that I know of especially in a tropical paradise.

I just got back from a cruise and got off the ship and went into coxen hole a bit and saw one lady but the place felt so shady I was afraid I might get killed or mugged so I just went back to the ship.

I will take vacations to curacao if they get campo open!

Girls in campo come from Colombia, Venezuela and DR primarily. There are agencies in Colombia which recruited girls on regular bases and worked with Campo owners.

I do not think local girls are allowed to work there.

When Campo closed, they simply went home.

According to local news campo will be auctioned the 21 June so if you interested fellas bring your wallet.Don't quite have 15 million guilders to pay off the fine owed to the government. Apparently there are several interested parties, according to the auction house. Wonder if the winner will take on minority investors.

Plenty of news articles about govt wanting this place to be Campo 2. 0, as they want to decrease what they say is mongering around the island. Reading between the lines, it does seem that there will be more government oversight and hands in the till, so can expect new pricing to be increased from prior to closing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJhjDQ7RvhEThanks for the good news. The place looks like it is in OK shape based on the video. The lighting, air conditioning, etc. Are all intact. I was afraid all would be looted and even electrical would be pulled for scrap. Looks like there are already some bitches (female dogs) hanging around. Hope it gets up and started quickly but I suspect will take another six months or so. As for pricing and supply demand, I am not sure what will happen. Even pre covid the place was not full. It is a pretty unique amazing place and glad it is coming back. Hopefully lots of chicas will be back making a good solid living.

Used to stay at Santa Barbara Beach and Golf but it is turning into a Sandals. What hotels do you think compare to Santa Barbara Beach and Golf? Appreciate suggestions. Also are there any good cottage or villa rental locations with beach access you can recommend on the peaceful quiet side. Loved the Santa Barbara but not interested in The Sandals.

The largest open-air brothel in the Caribbean under the auction hammer Link https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/local/the-largest-open-air-brothel-in-the-caribbean-under-the-auction-hammer/.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent May 9, 2022.

The Campo Alegre brothel (Curaçao) foreclosure auction.

WILLEMSTAD. Commissioned by the Public Prosecution Service of Curaçao, auction house BVA Auctions is auctioning the open-air Campo Alegre brothel in Curaçao. On June 21,2022, at 10:00 AM – local time – the resort will be auctioned live at the Renaissance Curaçao Resort in Willemstad. The new owner of Campo Alegre will have a unique multi-functional resort with possibilities for redevelopment into a large-scale leisure complex on a piece of property of more than 72,000 m2.

The largest brothel in the western hemisphere was still in use until 2020. The complex contains several buildings, including approx. 156 hotel rooms, shops, a restaurant, several bars, a gym, a swimming pool, and offices. There is also space for approximately 45 parking spaces within the resort and approximately 600 parking spaces on the property. The brothel went bankrupt in 2020, but the corona pandemic also threw a spanner in the works. Campo Alegre has not been in use since then.

On April 19,2022, the Minister of Justice, Mr. S. X. T Hato stated that if the future buyer intends to operate a prostitution business at this location once again, this intention will, in principle, not meet with any objections from the Minister. In this way, a future operator can start a prostitution business again.

'Proceeds from the auction to the Crime Prevention Fund'.

The reason for the auction is a confiscation order by the court. Millions must have come from the underworld and would have been invested in the legal upper world. The auction must raise enough to pay a judicially imposed fine – approx. 14.9 million Antillean guilders – to be paid to the judiciary. So the Public Prosecution Service will auction the site. The proceeds of the auction will go to the Crime Prevention Fund.

State Brothel.

Campo Alegre ('Happy Camp' popularly known as 'Blaatjie beèrde,' has long been a household name in the Caribbean. It was founded in 1949 as a state brothel for immigrants from the Shell Oil Refinery, sailors, and military personnel stationed in Curaçao. The resort, located outside of Willemstad, offered a solution to the growing demand for prostitutes in the 1930's and 1940's and prevented nuisance in the center.

About the auction.

Resort Campo Alegre is being auctioned in the presence of Mrs. M. are. Steenbaar from Simon & Steenbaar Notaries. The live hall auction will take place on June 21 at 10:00 AM at the Renaissance Curaçao Resort (Baden Powellweg, Willemstad, Curaçao). However, not just anyone can bid. For example, an interested party must have registered at least 8 days before the auction, and an (irrevocable) bank guarantee must be issued at the notary. More information about the auction and the process can be found at BVA Auctions, https://www.bva-auctions.com/campo.

International interest.

Richard Dieteren of auction house BVA Auctions is confident that the auction will end well. "There has been speculation for some time about whether or not the resort will reopen and the possibilities Campo Alegre can offer. The fact that the minister is sticking to a tolerance policy only increases interest. Several candidates have already applied, not only from Curaçao. ".

It is possible to visit the site before the auction takes place on June 21. This is only possible on set days and after registration with the auction house.

Thanks for the good news.

Loved the Santa Barbara but not interested in The Sandals.I heard the golf course has a "Blue Bay Curacao Golf & Beach Resort" but I have never stayed there. Please check the official Curacao Tourist Board webpage www.curacao.com In the section "Where to stay", chapter "Hotels and Resorts".

Auction is delayed until after summer because no interested party was able to come up with the auction deposit.

Was hoping it would be open by Christmas, now not so sure.

See, Curaçao Chronicle:

Planned Campo auction canceled at the last minute.

Willemstad. The planned auction of Campo Alegre brothel for next Tuesday is cancelled. This is reported by BVA auctions that would bring the former open-air brothel of Curaçao under the hammer on behalf of the Public Prosecution Service.

According to BVA spokesman Kevin van Hasselt, there is a lot of interest, but serious parties are unable to issue the required bank guarantee of five million guilders (3 million dollars). This is required to participate in the auction at the Renaissance Hotel in Otrobanda.

According to Van Hasselt, the time has been too short for a number of bidders and more time has been requested. The Public Prosecution Service has therefore instructed the auctioneer to postpone the auction until after the summer holidays. The new date will be announced next week, according to BVA.

Went to this lady several times and for me she's on of the best on the Island. Other latina's didn't make me cum like she did. Very charming and pretty brownskinned lady with either a good blowjob or handjob happy ending or an intercourse happy ending. She's available on her Instagram account Chocomassage.

It has already been established. Anyone who is seriously interested must register in advance with BVA Auctions or Notariskantoor Simon en Steenbaar, who are responsible for the auction.

Interested parties must present their ID card, complete the forms and provide a bank guarantee of five million. Campo's first auction last month canceled as nobody came up with this bank guarantee. The bid on September 6 must be in place in the Renaissance room. A telephone, written or e-mail bidding is not possible. Campo is auctioned off because the previous owners were convicted of drug trafficking and had to pay off about 14 million guilders."

WILLEMSTAD. The Campo Alegre auction has again been postponed until further notice. The former brothel would go under the hammer on Tuesday.

Camp Alegre was closed at the start of the corona crisis after 71 years. The open-air brothel had millions of debts outstanding and the corona measures delivered the final blow. Campo Alegre will be auctioned by the Public Prosecution Service (OM).

The auction was initially planned for June but was moved by the Public Prosecution Service to September 6. The exact reason for the delay was not disclosed.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the auction has now been postponed because there were no registrations that met the conditions. No new date has yet been announced for the auction.

Headed down to Curacao next month just wondering if there is any info on where to find Ladies outside of the Campo which was the only place I ventured last time there?

If my math is right converting it sits on about 5. 5 acres. Not like it's got a lot of nice new buildings. Sitting on the beach I could see asking that kind of money.

I must say most girls are not what I am looking for they are either too old or fat or just plain ugly. Also rooms around there do not have AC.

She was put on temporary leave while the police is investigating.

The quality of the girls arriving on the island that are advertising on websites is also very low. Mostly old girls, fat, and staying very long on the island. Most use old pictures or fake pictures. The prettiest ones are not returning back on the island.

For years, a decade at least, I would think about Campo ever since I read about it. I remember one time I was in Amsterdam enjoying the window girls, at a time when the prices were still somewhat ok, I walked into a bar to have a beer, and talked to the bartender about the scene and because she's Dutch, and I'm in the Netherlands, she's heard of Campo or at the very least Curacao, and she said to me, sure check it out. And for years I kept saying to myself, one day. One day I'll do it, it's not like it's going anywhere. Campo is practically an institution there. Place has been open for like 70 years. And then the lockdowns happened. I hear ya fellas, the world of hobbying has changed a lot. I wrote a bunch about that in the Prague rants section since I tend to hang out there. Campo is right next to the airport. Property values next to a runway are usually low. I know the volume of planes taking off is low-ish compared to other airports but I think Campo is the only place we will ever see a legal brothel in Curacao. Happy to say I had four good trips there before it closed. Good memories. Most of my contacts from that time are still pursuing their career in other parts of the Caribbean but I don't think it compares to Campo in terms of price and selection. Simple. At $28 a pop it takes a long time to come up with 3 million bucks for the minimum amount to register to bid. I don't even think brothels in Nevada would bring anywhere close to 3 million and they charge 300-400 I believe.

It was indeed called a resort because there main revenue was coming from renting rooms" and providing food and beverage service to the girls.

They were not allowed to involve in the girls business but the suggested price for service started with $28 a pop for 30 min. The girls had to paid each a daily rent of $71. Which with a minimum of 150 girls working there comes out to $10,650 daily excluding what the girls had too spend in food beverage and laundry. Now add what the clientele was spending daily in there in food and booze and you will have some serious figures coming in daily.

When I was there it was middle of the day and a weekday so maybe not the best time to judge but I can't see how it could have made that much money or all of the girls could pay their rent. Campo was supposed to be my gateway to South American / Latin American / Caribbean mongering.Yeah, mam, I feel the same way about Dolly's in Indonesia. With Campo I lucked out and got to visit on the company dime for a conference in 2014. Rented a room not too far from Campo and it came with use of a car so I went to Campo as often as I could in the week I was there probably ten times. It was a fun place. Now it's just a bygone.

Is the government trying to collect a high debt on the property. Was the previous owner jailed for money laundering or some thing else.

Is the government trying to collect a high debt on the property. Was the previous owner jailed for money laundering or some thing else.I have already explained why the price is high and will do so again.

For the last time:

The price comes with the permits to run the brothel. That's it. That's what someone is paying for. Exclusivity to run the place as a brothel.

Whoever wants it has to pay all cash. Banks down here in the ABC islands will not finance campo or pachis because they don't want to be associated with what the mainstream local business culture considers a 'dirty' business.

These islands are generally conservative and religious-the old folks and govt people believe in church over blowjobs for sale.

I found this searching the sale of Campo.

The reason for the auction is a confiscation order by the court. Millions that came from the underworld would have been laundered by investing in the property. The auction must raise enough to pay a judicially imposed fine of some 14.9 million Netherlands Antillean guilders, with proceeds to go to the Crime Prevention Fund.

Typically, they (the local economies) don't need our money to do well. So yes, maybe the money the mongers were bringing in falls to almost nothing, but the economy was nowhere near to dependent on that spending anyway. So most everybody from the locality in question doesn't care, and far more of them are elated to see the "immoral" sex tourists gone from their country.

Campo was a great idea regulated prostitution in a very remote place in one place, regular STD checks by sex workers and security for clients and sex workers.

"Campo Alegre has become Campo Landfill".

LOCAL.

By Correspondent Jan. 6, 2023.

WILLEMSTAD. The former open-air brothel Campo Alegre has become 'Campo Landfill', according to reporters from a morning newspaper.

The site is not closed and many people take this opportunity to dump their waste. It is still unknown what will happen to Campo. Last year, the auction of the site was postponed twice. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there would be no candidates who meet the conditions. No new date has yet been announced for the auction.

Campo Alegre was closed after 71 years at the start of the corona crisis. The open-air brothel had millions of debts outstanding and the corona measures gave the final blow.

During my stay in Curaçao while Campo was closed, I had the privilege of receiving an erotic massage with happy ending from Choco, which I have not regretted for a minute.

She is a clean, healthy and beautiful lady with good manners. Only thing is that she does not receive at her own place, but only does outcall services. If there are no options other than Campo, there is still hope with this one. You should definitely try out her services. Www. Chocolate-temptation is her website.

To get other girsl you need to go to the bars. The price vary on how long you knows them, if you are young, got money etc. Expect between 50 guilders and 500 guilers for round sex.

Campo Alegre, former brothel, possibly up for sale soon.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent July 13,2023 Link https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/local/campo-alegre-former-brothel-possibly-up-for-sale-soon/.

WILLEMSTAD. Preparations for the sale of Campo Alegre, a former brothel, are reportedly nearing completion, suggesting that a sale may be imminent. The decision to sell the establishment was made at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM). The current owner, Wilshire Advisors Ltd. , a company based in the British Virgin Islands, is overseeing the process. The official sale is scheduled to take place on September 26 at the prestigious Renaissance Wind Creek Hotel.

Initially, Campo Alegre was slated for auction in September 2022, but the event was postponed due to the absence of qualified applicants who met the necessary criteria. As a result, the OM deemed it necessary to delay the auction.

Following 71 years of operation, Campo Alegre was forced to close its doors at the onset of the COVID-19 crisis. The open-air brothel had accumulated millions of dollars in outstanding debts, and the pandemic-related restrictions dealt a final blow to its operations.

It is important to note that the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) has yet to officially confirm the impending sale. However, with indications pointing towards the completion of preparation for the sale, Campo Alegre's future hangs in the balance as potential buyers await further updates from the authorities.

Campo Alegre to be auctioned on Tuesday.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent Sept. 22,2023.

WILLEMSTAD. It now seems that the well-known open-air brothel Campo Alegre in Curaçao is finally going up for auction. Although the auction had been scheduled earlier, it was postponed twice because the Public Prosecution Service could not find bona fide buyers. The auction is now scheduled for next Tuesday, September 26th.

Originally, Campo Alegre was supposed to be auctioned on September 6th of last year, but this auction was postponed by the Public Prosecution Service, which did not provide any reasons for the delay. The brothel had an asking price of 8. 9 million guilders, and potential buyers had to provide a bank guarantee of 5 million guilders.

One of the complicating factors is a legal case dating back to 2013. At that time, the Court of Appeals ruled that the company Wilshire Advisors Ltd, which owned Campo Alegre, owed the government of Curaçao 14 million guilders in a case of expropriation. The Court found that Wilshire, among other things, had purchased Campo Alegre with drug money and through money laundering.

Since Wilshire did not meet its payment obligations to the Curaçao government, there have been various attempts by the government and the judiciary to auction Campo Alegre since 2014. The proceeds from the auction would cover Wilshire's debt to the government.

However, a planned auction last year encountered another problem: Campo Alegre had been seized by Mr. Be. Verhage, a former shareholder of Wilshire. This meant that the proceeds from the auction would not go to the government.

From an investigation conducted by the Curaçao government and the Public Prosecution Service, it was determined that the seizure imposed by Verhage was illegal. Consequently, a decision was made to initiate legal proceedings against Verhage to lift the seizure. However, this did not proceed as Verhage himself had already requested the seizure to be lifted. Now that the seizure has been lifted, the auction can proceed.

The auction, supervised by the Public Prosecution Service, will take place at the Renaissance Wind Creek Hotel on September 26,2023, at 10:00 AM. The complex is owned by the British Virgin Islands-based company Wilshire Advisors Ltd.

Resort.

Campo Alegre is described as a resort with both small and large hotel rooms, totaling 156 rooms. In addition, there are various warehouses, offices, a fitness center, a restaurant, two outdoor bars, and a swimming pool. Both within and outside the Campo Alegre premises, there are 645 parking spaces.

Minister of Justice, Shalten Hato, previously stated that prostitution is not prohibited in Curaçao, except for street prostitution and facilitating prostitution in certain hotels. Therefore, the buyer of the Campo Alegre building could open a prostitution center there.

However, those looking to restart the prostitution business within Campo Alegre must consider the 'import' of prostitutes and the necessary permits.

"Curaçao government purchases Campo Alegre Outdoor Brothel in auction".

LOCAL.

By Correspondent Sept. 26,2023.

WILLEMSTAD. The government led by Prime Minister Pisas has acquired the well-known outdoor brothel Campo Alegre. In the auction held this morning, eight million guilders were sufficient to become the owner. Pisas himself was present at the auction and was authorized by the Ministry of Finance to go up to eleven million. The money will be deposited in the Crime Fund.

Although the auction had been scheduled to take place earlier, it was postponed twice because the Public Prosecutor's Office could not find bona fide buyers.

The brothel had an asking price of 8. 9 million guilders, and potential buyers had to provide a bank guarantee of 5 million guilders.

One of the complicating factors is a legal case dating back to 2013. At that time, the Court of Appeals ruled that the company Wilshire Advisors Ltd, which owned Campo Alegre, owed the government of Curaçao fourteen million guilders in an expropriation case. The Court found that Wilshire had purchased Campo Alegre, among other things, with drug money and through money laundering.

Since Wilshire did not fulfill its payment obligations to the Curaçao government, there have been various attempts by the government and the judiciary to auction Campo Alegre since 2014. The proceeds from the auction would cover Wilshire's debt to the government.

The new purpose of the outdoor brothel has not been officially announced yet. Pisas maintains that the government has not purchased a brothel but a resort with buildings. However, Prime Minister Pisas's party, MFK, has never kept it a secret that it intends to restore the brothel to its former function.

Link https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/opinion/campo-alegre-really/ "Campo Alegre, Really?

OPINION.

By Quincy Girigorie Sept. 27,2023.

With amazement, I learned yesterday about the initial information regarding the purchase of the Campo Alegre brothel (or at least the properties) by the Pisas II Cabinet. The first thing that came to mind was, "This can't be true," and "How foolish can one be?" After the Prime Minister's statements, it turned out to be true. The government bought the properties as a "strategic investment" and would decide what to do with them in about 3 months.

It is a well-known fact that Pisas promised during the election campaign that MFK would reopen the Campo Alegre brothel, but it couldn't be that simple, could it?

Not with 8 million guilders of public funds on the same day that water, electricity, and gasoline prices increased? While the government was negotiating a 1. 2 billion guilders loan in connection with the ENNIA debacle? Not just weeks after only 1 million guilders could be allocated to provide 30 schools with air conditioning units to alleviate the unbearable heat in which our children and teachers could no longer attend classes?

So, I awaited the "intellectual explanation" in which a plausible argument would be provided to justify this political stunt, because surely, that must follow? This couldn't just be acceptable as is, could it? There was no plausible explanation. I was unpleasantly surprised. What followed was a meaningless press release and the well-known Facebook statements by Silvania, one crazier than the other.

For those interested, I will briefly explain why none of the explanations make sense.

In short, the explanation amounted to the following:

The government purchased strategic real estate with significant development potential, without a clear purpose, at a good price, with the intention of determining its use in three months, but also to ensure that ANG 8 million would flow into the Crime Fund so that cars, weapons, and uniforms can be purchased for the Justice system, which urgently needs them. Or as the Minister of Justice announced on his Facebook page: "Boom, 8 million in the Crime Fund.

Questions and Answers Regarding the Campo Alegre Purchase.

1 Did the government have to buy Campo Alegre so that the Justice department could get money to buy cars, weapons, and uniforms? No. Real estate is purchased by the government using funds from the capital service of the budget. This is designated for (sustainable) investments and projects. Every ministry (including Justice), every service (including KPC), buys weapons, cars, and uniforms through the capital service, not through the Crime Fund. The Crime Fund is only used for those purposes when there is no money available in the capital service.

The fact that there were funds available in the capital service is evident, especially from the purchase of Campo Alegre! If there was 8 million guilders available to buy Campo, why couldn't that money be used directly to purchase cars, weapons, and uniforms for Justice? Why divert money into the Crime Fund through the purchase of Campo Alegre?

2 Was it necessary for the government to buy Campo so that the funds would go into the Crime Fund? Absolutely not! Campo Alegre was under seizure by the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM). The sale proceeds would automatically go into the Crime Fund regardless of who bought it. The seizure was made in the context of a criminal confiscation case. The intention is that third parties pay the money so that criminal proceeds are confiscated from the convicted individuals, and their criminal funds are used to bring about positive development in the community (Not government funds).

So, once again, regardless of which buyer purchased Campo, the money would go into the Crime Fund.

Furthermore, I am convinced that the purchase of Campo is counterproductive for the economy. By buying Campo, the government is actually preventing any (local or foreign) investor from bringing "new money" into the local economy because government funds that were already budgeted to be spent are now being used to hinder "fresh investment" in the local economy. By spending the same money twice (buying Campo and materials for Justice), the government creates the illusion that the local economy is growing when, in fact, their actions are working against it.

3 Was the purchase so strategic?

I remember during the discussion of the "transfer of lands to the US Consulate," the Minister of VVRP explained that he needed money to develop Landhuis Zuurzak (the former residence of the Gezaghebber). Like many government buildings, it was in disrepair, and a small amount would be sufficient to make it usable and profitable as "public property" again. To date, this has not happened.

Just like Landhuis Zuurzak, you have the City Hall (Courthouse Building), the Old BC Building, and dozens of other government-owned properties that need a "small investment" to significantly reduce government rental costs. However, this was not "strategic" enough for this government. No, buying a parcel of land for 8 million guilders without a "known" purpose was.

All in all, it quickly became clear that the Pisas Cabinet has simply used public funds to fulfill a campaign promise. After "tinted windows," no COHO, and the Soto Stadium, it's now time for the reopening of Campo Alegre. Next, we await the (actual) reopening of the Refinery, a "wip room" for SDKK, and "Plan be" (no more borrowing from the Netherlands).

Whether the Curaçaoan community has actually made any progress with these promises is questionable at best. Note that not even the central and relevant question of whether the government wants a prostitution center at Campo Alegre could be clearly answered by the Prime Minister. Perhaps that had something to do with the prayer meeting the night before.

Campo Alegre, Really?? ".

So I've searched this forum trying to find information regarding the street scene on Bargestraat and another poster said there were Colombian and Dominican walkers out in the evening but they didn't partake.

Has anyone on this board gone with any of the walkers there, and perhaps can provide some information, such as the going rates, or at least a range of prices quoted, along with whether there are short time hotels available nearby and the going rates.

Any information would be helpful, and I'm going to speculate that since the closing of CAMPO there has probably been an increase of activity there.

Thanks.

More prostitution due to opening of Venezuela borders.

Curacao is experiencing an increase in prostitution. Upon arrival at Hato, the ladies are included in an organized prostitution network that is active through various websites. I tell ya fellas, if it does ever come back, I'll definitely be there. You have other options in Caribbean too now, St. Maarten or Aruba.

Each is different setup and you can read thru forums to get a better sense of how each island works.

Been to Campo few times but my preference is St. Maarten.

Per the Curacao chronicle, government meeting by end of June to determine next steps with the property. Stay tuned.

Yes, you are right, something is starting in the Campo case, copy of the article from Curacao Chronicle here: Local

By Correspondent June 4, 2024. Government set to reveal plans for former brothel by end of June.

WILLEMSTAD. The government has announced that it will provide clarity on its plans for Campo Alegre by the end of June. This decision follows a request for a question hour from independent Member of Parliament Zita Jesus-Leito.

During the budget debate of 2024, it came to light that a special committee had been established to further develop plans for Campo. However, Leito has voiced concerns that no information has been made public regarding these plans, despite the expenditure of 9 million guilders for acquisition and investments.

A question hour allows all Members of Parliament to submit written inquiries, which will be addressed orally by the minister during a public meeting.

By Correspondent June 28,2024 Link https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/main/prime-minister-advocates-establishment-of-prostitution-center-amid-controversy-over-campo-alegre/.

WILLEMSTAD. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas sparked debate during a parliamentary session by endorsing the establishment of a prostitution center on Curaçao, suggesting it could potentially be located at the former site of Campo Alegre or elsewhere. Pisas made these remarks while addressing questions regarding the government's current lack of a prostitution policy.

Speaking from his experience as a former police officer, Pisas emphasized the necessity for such a center. "I have never visited Campo Alegre for pleasure, but I understand the need for a regulated facility," he stated.

The debate intensified as Pisas disclosed receiving numerous appeals to reopen Campo Alegre, a topic that has stirred controversy since its closure.

Independent parliamentarian Zita Jesus-Leito raised concerns about the government's approach, highlighting that the purchase of Campo Alegre nine months ago lacked clarity on its future use. She criticized the government for allowing Prime Minister Pisas to negotiate the property's fate hastily, without prior public consultation.

"The government's actions are premature and unacceptable," Jesus-Leito asserted, questioning the rationale behind acquiring Campo Alegre for a purpose that lacks a defined policy framework.

Jesus-Leito also drew attention to the proliferation of illegal prostitution centers elsewhere on the island, pressing Pisas on his awareness and plans to address the unregulated sector.

"We previously operated under a policy of tolerance with strict oversight. The situation has since escalated. What concrete measures does the prime minister propose to restore order?" she demanded.

In response, Pisas acknowledged the government's intent to utilize Campo Alegre as a regulated prostitution center but underscored the pending feasibility study by the SOAB accounting firm. He committed to awaiting the study's conclusions within three months before making a final decision on the property's future.

The debate reflects ongoing tensions over the island's social and economic policies, particularly concerning sensitive issues like prostitution regulation.

I hear that Campo charges $60 a day in rent to the girls. I guess them making a killing doesn't necessarily equate to Campo making a killing since the girls don't give Campo a percentage. On the other hand, it seems that keeping a session around $35 might not be that attractive to some of the mid tier girls when they would need to have two clients just to cover daily rent. I have had some great times there for sure, though and would love to see it reopen.

It's been closed for what close to 4 years now or a little over. It wasn't in the greatest shape when it closed and I am sure it needs completely redone. Even if the government gave the property to someone for free it would take a lot of money to get it back into shape. I know all the times they tried to auction it off they were wanting 3 million US or so which was absurd. Takes a lot of $28 sessions to pay for that even if the property were turn key.

From "Curacao Chronicle".

Curaçao's Prime Minister Remains Cautious on Campo Alegre Reopening.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent Jan. 27,2025.

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao's Prime Minister, Gilmar 'Pik' Pisas, has adopted a cautious stance when questioned about the potential reopening of Campo Alegre. Speaking during recent events tied to the registration of political parties for the upcoming elections, Pisas indicated that it is not an appropriate time to delve deeply into this matter.

Campo Alegre, once a legal center for prostitution, was purchased by the Curaçao government for 8 million guilders following a series of legal, regulatory, and criminal issues that led to its closure. Despite the government owning the property, discussions about its reopening are complicated by conflicting interests.

The Diocese of Willemstad has consistently opposed any plans to reopen the establishment, citing humanitarian and religious concerns. Meanwhile, segments of the community view the reopening as a potential solution to issues such as sexual violence and incest.

Prime Minister Pisas highlighted that the property is currently valued at approximately 8 million guilders, with the potential to increase to 40 million following comprehensive renovations. He also noted that any government investment in the site could yield financial benefits for the country.

However, Pisas emphasized that it would be inappropriate to engage in a detailed debate about Campo Alegre's future during the election period. He assured the public that discussions on the matter would resume after the elections. (BTW General elections are set to be hold in Curacao on March 21 - 2025).

Increase in Illegal Prostitution After Closure of Campo Alegre.

From "Curacao Chronicle" LOCAL.

By Correspondent Feb. 25,2025 link here https://www.curacaochronicle.com/post/local/increase-in-illegal-prostitution-after-closure-of-campo-alegre/.

WILLEMSTAD – The closure of Campo Alegre has led to an increase in domestic violence, crimes against minors, and illegal prostitution on Curaçao. This claim was made by Marlon Regales, former director and spokesperson of the brothel.

According to Regales, the absence of Campo Alegre has accelerated the rise of informal prostitution, particularly among the local population. He points to the increasing prevalence of so-called "sugar daddy" relationships, where older men provide financial support or gifts to younger women in exchange for companionship. While this phenomenon was once rare on the island, Regales believes it has now become widely accepted.

Safety Concerns and Health Risks.

Regales warns that informal prostitution comes with serious risks, including violence, abuse, and even kidnappings. He also notes a significant rise in sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). To counter these dangers, he advocates for awareness campaigns and educational programs to inform young people about the risks involved.

Government-Owned Property.

Following its closure, the Curaçao government purchased the Campo Alegre property for eight million guilders. While Regales does not believe the government should be directly involved in the sector, he argues that the site could be repurposed for commercial use. He suggests that a group of private investors could establish a regulated brothel, with government oversight to ensure safety and control.

According to Regales, Campo Alegre was not only important to the local community but also served international visitors, including tourists, sailors, and individuals who could not or did not want to engage in traditional relationships. Without a regulated alternative, he warns that unchecked prostitution and exploitation will continue to rise.

Lack of Oversight.

Previously, sex workers at Campo Alegre underwent a strict screening process and signed three-month contracts with the Curaçao government. Their backgrounds and legal documents were verified both internationally and locally. However, with the brothel now closed, this regulatory oversight has disappeared, leaving health and safety unmonitored.

Impact on Tourism.

The closure of Campo Alegre has reportedly affected tourism as well. Regales claims that the number of Colombian tourists has declined due to the lack of regulated sex work on the island. Without legal oversight of hygiene and working conditions, foreign sex workers can now operate freely in illegal prostitution, increasing the risk of exploitation.

Authorities and Law Enforcement.

Regales alleges that various bars and clubs on Curaçao are now offering rooms for sex work, and that the authorities are aware of this but fail to take action. He even suggests that some police officers are involved in these activities. While prostitution itself is not illegal in Curaçao, proving human trafficking and exploitation remains a challenge.

In the past, sex workers at Campo Alegre were regularly interviewed as part of human trafficking investigations. Regales, who had direct contact with intelligence services from Curaçao, the Netherlands, and the United States, warns that the lack of regulated prostitution poses a serious security risk. He urges the government to consider reintroducing controlled workplaces for sex workers to reduce crime and improve public safety.

Increase in Chlamydia Cases Reported at Curaçao's Family Planning Clinic.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent March 7, 2025 "Curacao Chronicle".

WILLEMSTAD – The Family Planning Foundation (FFP) clinic has been diagnosing a high number of chlamydia cases, according to Tihaisa de Palm, the organization's public relations officer. Dr. Elger Jacobus, a general practitioner at the clinic, also confirmed the rise in infections but noted that exact figures are unavailable due to a lack of structured data collection.

Dr. Jacobus emphasized that Curaçao lacks a clear strategy and consistent education regarding sexually transmitted infections (STIs). One of the major concerns is the lack of oversight on sex workers since the closure of the Campo Alegre brothel. According to De Palm, many illegal sex workers are now operating in bars and snack bars (snèks), where regular health checks are no longer enforced. This increases the risk of spreading STIs.

Financial pressure is also a factor, as some women are reportedly agreeing to unprotected sex in exchange for higher payments.

Breaking the Taboo on Sexual Health.

De Palm pointed out that sexual health remains a taboo in Curaçao. FFP aims to break this stigma by expanding its team and facilities to provide more sexual education and awareness programs. She urged parents to have open and honest discussions with their children about safe sex and STI prevention.

Serious Health Risks of Untreated Chlamydia.

If left untreated, chlamydia can cause severe health complications. In women, it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and infertility due to damage to the fallopian tubes. In men, the infection can spread to the testicles or prostate, causing painful inflammation. Other complications include urinary tract infections (UTIs) and joint inflammation.

FFP continues to advocate for better sexual health education and STI prevention measures to curb the rising infections on the island.

Increase in Chlamydia Cases Reported at Curaao's Family Planning Clinic.

LOCAL.

By Correspondent March 7, 2025 "Curacao Chronicle".

WILLEMSTAD The Family Planning Foundation (FFP) clinic has been diagnosing a high number of chlamydia cases, according to Tihaisa de Palm, the organization's public relations officer. Dr. Elger Jacobus, a general practitioner at the clinic, also confirmed the rise in infections but noted that exact figures are unavailable due to a lack of structured data collection.

Dr. Jacobus emphasized that Curaao lacks a clear strategy and consistent education regarding sexually transmitted infections (STIs). One of the major concerns is the lack of oversight on sex workers since the closure of the Campo Alegre brothel. According to De Palm, many illegal sex workers are now operating in bars and snack bars (snks), where regular health checks are no longer enforced. This increases the risk of spreading STIs.

Financial pressure is also a factor, as some women are reportedly agreeing to unprotected sex in exchange for higher payments.

I betcha if they reopen Campo, cases of stds on the island will drop significantly. This is so obvious it's startling. Look at countries where prostitution is legal or semi-legal. Std's aren't really a thing to worry about. Places like Amsterdam, Singapore, etc. Come on Curacao, get your shit together! I want to visit Campo before I die.

Hello, I am not an political expert but I think this is good news for the Campo. The election victory of the political party MFK and Gilmar Pisas, because Gilmar Pisas was in the past for opening the Campo but they did not want to discuss the Campo before the elections in March. From "Curacao Chronicle" Gilmar Pisas Hails MFK's Historic Election Victory as a 'Fantastic Result'.

MAIN.

By Correspondent March 24,2025.

WILLEMSTAD – Gilmar 'Pik' Pisas, leader of the Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK), has declared his party's landslide victory in Curaçao's recent elections a "fantastic result. " Pisas explained how MFK achieved this historic milestone.

"We saw this coming," Pisas said confidently. "As ministers, we have done an excellent job. Since 2021, we have successfully rebranded, and people now have a different perception of our party. ".

One of the most surprising aspects of MFK's win was the strong support from the Dutch community on the island. "When you see how I was welcomed in Pietermaai, it was something incredible. Dutch voters have certainly contributed to our victory," he noted.

No Constitutional Referendum, Strong Ties with the Netherlands.

Pisas dismissed any notion of strained relations with the Netherlands, emphasizing that cooperation within the Kingdom remains productive. "We have no problems with the Netherlands whatsoever. We meet weekly to discuss and resolve issues. There will be no referendum on our constitutional status. The partnership within the Kingdom is working well and delivering results," he stated.

Responding to Criticism.

Opposition parties have accused MFK of having authoritarian tendencies, but Pisa firmly rejected these claims. "This is democracy in action. We listen to the people and work with all stakeholders. Look at the Lagun project—we collaborated with everyone involved to reach a broadly supported solution," he argued.

Stability and Economic Growth.

Looking ahead, Pisa promised a period of stability and continued economic development. "We will focus on further economic growth," he said. He also welcomed the upcoming visit of Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in May. "he has nothing to worry about—I will be there to receive him," Pisas assured.

With a strong mandate, IMF intends to build on its momentum, prioritizing economic development and strengthening its collaboration within the Kingdom.

Considering a trip to Curacao in the Spring and I'd love to monger while I am there. Any updates on locations to visit, costs, etc? Any word on the Campo opening back up?Campo is not going to open. I do not see any info on that. There is not any place for monger in my opinion in Curacao. There are bars where you can get girls but they do not want you to know and other to know they are prostitute. You need to talk to them a bit and from there on its about them and you depends how they like you the first time can be free but after that they might ask you for some money. There are also girls on a website but most are ugly / old, even from former campo prostitutes that are charging 2 x or 3 x the price back and campo and in prostitution they are past their prime and most of these girls on that website are staying the pretty young ones are mostly unavailable or a local baller takes her off the street and makes her his girlfriend.
