Last time or second to last time I visited Bogota (circa 2009), a Hooters' had opened in Zona Rosa. Is it still there? If so, any success landing any Hooters girls? I had a great time with a non-pro Hooters girl. I think she ended up leaving Colombia temporarily to help train at a new Hooters in Argentina.

Any assistance is appreciated! It was still there 18 months ago. I just stopped in for one beer, but none of the girls working there were especially hot.

There is a Citibank office in Bogota (or was. Someone mentioned something about Citibank closing S. A. Offices), not sure what services besides ATM usage they might offer.Correct. Citi's pulling out of retail banking in Colombia and Brazil.

Greetings,

Some friends and I will be in Medellin at the end of June and I have a few questions I couldn't find after reviewing reports:

Is there a "ground zero" neighborhood in Medellin that's central to all the mongering action? I know in Panama it's the Veneto, but how about here?

Generally speaking, does Hotel Security add a chica fee to your hotel bill? If so, what's the typical damage?

Do pharmacies provide items without prescriptions? I'm mostly talking Viagras or equal BTW.

Are tourists usually hounded with handouts, tourist trap scams, etc? In other words, will we be bombarded as we enter and exit hotels, bars, restaurants, etc? Just want an idea what to expect.

Is there any particular neighborhood or establishment that we should avoid at all costs? Usually every country has a least one or more spots that stand out amongst the rest as "stay out".

Lastly, how's the water and food quality generally speaking? I haven't read anything bad about either, but thought I'd ask people who visit often or live there.

Thank you all!I'll answer the questions that I have some knowledge of.

Medellin is not like many mongering cities. There is no place where the chicas are waiting for you to select them and take them to your hotel. Well, Mayorista is somewhat like that but generally the chicas are in the lower half of the grading scale. There are many casas (primarily daytime) in the downtown area that have a variety of chicas. Those are for in-house consumption. Some of the chicas will visit you during the hours they are not working at the casa. You need a session with them and discuss if they are available outside the casa. At night, there are strip clubs, but I have never been to one.

Usually, only the high-end hotels will add a chica fee, if they even allow chicas in your room. Some do not. Ask the hotel about their guest policy and any extra charges before making a reservation.

Almost all drugs are available without a prescription. The exception being any habit-forming drugs. Generic Viagra is very cheap. Less than fifty cents for a 50 MG pill.

There are very few hawkers handing out advertisements. In the downtown area, occasionally you will run into someone handing out business cards for a casa.

There are areas you should avoid, but I can't list them. Some of the local people have told me to avoid the area around the Prado metro stop. I know the areas that are safe and I stay in those areas. I have not encountered any problem walking in Poblado or Laureles, day or night; and in the downtown area during daylight. Always be aware of your surroundings and don't flash expensive items like jewelry, expensive watches, Iphones and Samsung Galaxys. The police there are your friends, treat them like a friend.

Generally speaking, the food and water are safe. I have had two bad experiences, one with water and one with food. Tap water is safe to drink. I should have known better the one bad experience with water. I checked into the apartment and there was very little water pressure. The manager of the apartment said there was a broken water line in the area. Without thinking, I filled a water pitcher and put it in the refrigerator. A day after drinking that water I had very bad stomach pains. Never vomited, but the pains lasted about a day and a half. The food, I am fairly sure was some chicken wings I ate at a restaurant in Laureles. They did not taste right. I think they were pre-cooked and then deep fried when ordered. Probably not refrigerated in between. For lunch, I eat traditional Colombian food and have never had a problem. The traditional food outside Parque Lleras is very cheap. About $3 for a complete lunch.

I have visited Medellin 21 times, almost 200 days there.

Sometimes art imitates life. If you are interested in enhancing your time in Colombia, it makes sense to understand the culture: what is important to these beautiful girls? I highly recommend a TV series of several years ago called. "Sin Senos no Hay Paraso. " "Without tits there is no paradise. " It's on Netflix.

In Spanish, of course, but with English subtitles.

Only good energy, amigos.

Last year while I was in Bogota I used my Debit card which had no chip in a Citibank ATM and was able to get cash up to $500 US. I am reading here the Citibank is closed or closing in Colombia. Has anyone used a debit card with no chip recently in any other bank? What other banks allow more cask withdraw like 800 k+ colombian peso? Thanks.

There is a new video from VICE on YouTube about illegal gold mining and the effects of Mercury poisoning. It is very interesting as it shows stuff the men use to fight impotence, and shows the military blowing mining equipment up with C4 explosives. These are all in Antioquia, and even Medellin in mentioned. https://youtu.be/z_KAOD6IZmE.

I am not too familiar with the Hooters in Bogota though. I am very familiar with the Hooters in Medellin. I have tried many many times to get their numbers and stuff. They said they aren't supposed to do that with customers. They get hit on many many times every day. But I have seen some guys go there and it was obvious the guy is a boyfriend of one of the girls. I have joked and asked a girl in Medellin so many times, but she just takes it as a joke now. Except one time I said she can come by to clean my apartment. They she asked me when. Then I had to tell her I don't have an apartment in Medellin. If I had my own apartment there I might have got my foot in the door. I heard rumors that a few of the girls will make extra money on the side. A taxi driver that was there said he has 2 girls there that he can arrange for me to have sex with. I just never followed though. He seemed to pushy. The girls in the Medellin Hooters usually for 6 days a week, and 10 or more hours a day and they will be lucky to make $500 USD a month. It would be nice to rent one of these girls for a weekend, and give her a full months pay.

In Bogota, posted by independent escorts: the phrase "solo domicilio. " In the strictest term, I would read this as only a house or private dwelling appointment. Am I reading this too literal and would it include appointments to hotels? Once again, my apologies for the ignorance. First trip to Colombia and trying to understand the nuances.

Thanks for any help.

For a restaurant, "Domicilios" or "A domocilio" means they deliver. I would guess it's the same idea with prepagos.

Why does this have to happen? Anyway, with car you can get to some great places, micro-climate zones, plus offer rides to girls everywhere.

I've done the bus that goes through the Zona Cafetera (Armenia, Manizales, Pereira) from Medellin to Cali. It's reasonably safe and it's a lovely trip. Stunning landscape.

OTOH as Golfinho pointed out the Western and Southern parts of the country are probably not so advisable. Still a fair amount of Guerrilla and Para-military activity.

At Pasto -- she said that after a private school bus was stopped and everyone robbed, that afterwards for their annual excursion to the coast at Tumaco, they always rented the oldest, most beat up bus they could find and were invariably left alone. No one advised to go along the southern areas in vicinity Pacific Coast. Wonder what its like though -- would encourage someone to go for it. Just wondering if anyone with insight knows what a working girl's true needs are. Specifically, can we get costs on the following bills from the barrios (in Colombian Pesos)?

-Electricity.

-Water.

-Gas.

-Groceries (family of 5).

-Childcare.

-[CodeWord131] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord131).

-Milk (baby formula).

-Bus ticket (say, Round trip Medellin-Bogota).

-Clinic checkup (OBGYN).

-Low cost hotel for visiting working girls.

-Hair salon appointment.

I just figured being armed with these figures will give a good insight on factors in negotiating. Any thoughts?

Please feel free to add anything I missed!

I've brought my own Colombian sex source with me a few times in the last couple years. Here are some results.

On my first try I was already in Cancun Mexico, early last year and I read that Colombians do not need a visa to go to Mexico. So bought this hot college girl from Medellin a round trip ticket. She made it to Cancun, but they refused here and a couple other Colombian girls entry, and they were sent back to Colombia. I have seen this myself a few times. It was last month I took a flight from Mexico City to Bogota and I happen to sit near two Colombian ladies. I asked how long were they in Mexico. They said they got to Mexico today. But. They were flying back to Bogota. They got denied entry.

OK, second try. In the middle of last year I brought a nice and young 19 year old from Santa Marta with me. She normally works in Cartagena. She is only 19 and I keep telling her she will be more sexy when she is about 22 - 25 years old, but she is already sexy. She doesn't believe my story though. OK, so I planned for us to go to Panama a couple days and then Cancun. Again. Since I was with her and we said we are boyfriend and girlfriend if needed, we made it in to Panama and then Mexico. But we got searched in Cancun. I know that damn red light, green light isn't random. We each got red lights, two in a row. But we made it.

Later last year I was already in Guatemala. I don't know why I paid for her to come see me in Guatemala for there were already many girls there. But, I wanted to drive around to several places over a week. So I brought her with me. Guatemala also says no visa needed for Colombians. But they were going to send this short 19 year old Colombian girl back. I already told her to tell immigration that I am in Guatemala and will take care of her. She was lucky because the immigration guys were nice enough to let her connect her phone to WiFi. She started chatting with me on Whatsapp, and said they won't let her enter the country. I told her to tell them I am at the airport, ask them to talk to me. Well. Surprisingly a man comes walking to me and asks me if I'm "my name" and I said yes, then he asks to see my passport. Then he looks at it and says OK. So, she he goes back and lets my lady friend through.

This month, I took the same girl, almost 20 now, to Aruba, then we will go to Panama. Since December of 2015 Colombians will no longer need to apply for a visa to Aruba, and that goes for Curacao and Bonaire and I think St Maarten. We left from Cartagena and they searched us for drugs, and made us sign a consent to an X-Ray. I was afraid they weren't going to let her leave Colombia for whatever dumb reason. Immigration was asking her all kinds of questions with a mean look on his face. But he let me out easy. Anyways, we had a layover in Panama with no issues, then we land in Aruba and the Dutch people and locals go to the right. Colombians along with "others" go in the middle. A lady asked to see passports and sent most people to the middle. There were quite a few Colombian couples. Well, I had an American Passport, and she gave me the VIP treatment and said I can go to the left. I said I was with the Colombian lady, then the immigration lady said she has to go to in the middle, so you can go with her. So, it it Dutch and locals to the right, most people in the middle and Americans can go to the left. I imagine other Western countries can go to the left also.

Anyways, the Aruban customs lady did not ask one damn question to my Colombian girl, then stamped her passport and and greeted her in Spanish. Well, the immigration officer didn't ask me any question either. I was thinking, wow that as easy. We got our luggage, and had my customs form ready. Well customs kept waving everyone through and didn't even ask to see our form. So, Aruba was extremely easy, almost too easy. But I'm sure bags have lots of extra screening after you drop off your suitcase and before you get your suitcase back.

Something might have changed. Last year these two women didn't have any cellphone service in other countries. This time the girl I am with has her phone working in different countries.

Others: I have personally seen women turned away from Panama. But as we know, lots of them make it. Also my lady friend has been to Peru a couple times and she said it was very easy for her. So you can bring your lady friend there.

Upcoming: I am very close to agreeing to taking a non-working girl hot enough to be a supermodel with me to Europe. I use to fuck her sister who used to work in LE Palace in Panama. I wanted to have sex with the younger sister but the younger sister doesn't do such things. The Older sister got married last year, and the younger sister finally says she will go somewhere with me. She is not a working lady, otherwise I'd show some pictures of her. Colombians are supposed to be able to go to most European countries (Schengen) now with no Visa. When I was in Medellin last week I sent messages to a Energy girl (Medellin), and she said she was in Paris. I know of some girls from the Dominican Republic, one of them was the most famous on a forum, it had over 100 pages about her, name Hennessy. Her and her sister went to Spain about 6 weeks ago and they are still there working in Barcelona. I imagine they choose Spain because those girls can't speak any other language. When I was in Medellin there was a magazine called Don Juan. On the cover the story was about a rush of Colombian prostitutes going to Spain.

It's also almost impossible to know these things. Costs of living in Colombia vary insanely depending on which city, neighborhood, estrato and household spending habits. And even the bus fares can double or triple depending on where you're going and when.

The girl I brought with me to Aruba, I gave her $30 for a taxi in Panama, and 100,000 Colombian pesos so she will get home OK in Colombia. That was for 5 full days. It a good thing she doesn't eat much because it is expensive to eat in Aruba. I drove all around Aruba, which isn't a good idea in the little car I rented, but I didn't have to do it by myself. In Mexico, yeah, lots of ladies, even in Cancun there is a place I like. But me and her went to 4 or 5 of the Mayan ruin places, and a few cities. But, yeah, there are working women all of Mexico, but I don't like the Mexico City scene. Also, yep, no reason to bring a girl to Panama, but in Panama the price keeps going up. I am going to take a non-working lady to Europe in a few days. Panama City to Barcelona was the cheapest way I could find to Europe round-trip. A good flight that won't have to do the US layover is only $547. I know some Dominican Republic girls that went to Barcelona, but I will probably only be able to say Hi to them. I never had sex with the girl I am taking, and I happened to see her and her mom today. Her mom approves of me. I think the lady I am bringing knows sex shall be incurred during our travels in Europe. I tried to get with her before but she had a boyfriend and her older sister that I was fucking said stay away from me. Now, older sister wants younger sister to dump her boyfriend that lives in Miami, and she knows (or thinks) I am a good guy. The mom (thinks) I am a good guy also. I just don't know how to let the younger sister not get heart broken or something when we return because I'm not going to hang around Panama when we get back.

Hello guys!

I coming for 1 month in Colombia and I would like to ask you a few practical things before. I am not very used to prostitutes, but I think I'll give it a try in Colombia.

About where to sleep (for a few days, not weeks in the same place).

I am looking for a good way to have a private cosy room where I could bring up girls day & night, which means.

- close to central places.

- OK to bring a guest.

- not that expensive.

I don't expect you to give me address and so on but just. Where should I look for?

I was thinking AirBnB would be a good solution to have a private room but I wonder about bringing girls. Any thoughts about it?

So what do you prefer? AirBnB, Hotel, something else?

About STDs:

- Is it OK to kiss a prostitute? Like french kiss? Do you avoid doing it because and herpes and stuff like this?

- Is it OK to do BBBJ with a prostitute?

About safety:

I am wondering about taking my 1000 $ reflex camera, and my 300 $ cellphone. I am kind of used to travel with them but I don't want to be robbed or stressed because I am afraid of it.

Thank you for your answers guys.

First off leave your $1,000. Camera and expensive cell phone either at home or locked in the safe at your hotel. DO NOT wear anything shinny, expensive or even cheap junk costume jewelry.

And please find yourself a partner, someone that knows Colombia, preferably one that speaks Espanol, not judging you but you are clueless as to the risks, they are real, that are out there. Remember that "you don't know what you don't know".

Please go back through and read a minimum of 50 pages of the reports, get educated.

The questions about STD are valid, this hobby comes with risks so pick carefully, think with the big head.

Some will kiss, some will kiss you so passionately as you will have never experienced in your life, but some will not.

I will lets others comment about hotel and such. Again go back through and read reports, this is the best advice I can give.

Most of all have fun but play safe and always be mindful of your surroundings and stay clear of drugs and heavy drinking.

TTM.

1: Look at the guest policy in the listing. Many of the listings will say whether or not guests are allowed. Before making a reservation, I always send a message and tell them my plans with guests, and ask if those are allowed.

2: If the guest policy is not explained in the listing, look at the person making the listing. If it is someone who lives outside Colombia, or is a foreigner living in Colombia, they will usually allow guests. Many will have some restrictions on overnight guests. Almost all require you to be quiet. If the person is a Colombian living in Medellin, chances are they will not allow guests.

As to a preference, it depends on your lifestyle. If you want your room cleaned every day, and clean towels every day, stay in a hotel. I think it is more difficult to find a hotel that allows guests and doesn't charge a fee for them than it is to find a room. For me, a room in a private residence is not private enough. Because I like privacy, I always rent an apartment. I don't recommend that for a first time visitor.

Whatever your choice, look for a place in Poblado or Laureles, especially if you will be out at night.

MagicPeter, Are you sure you want to "try" a prostitute?

Some will kiss, some will kiss you so passionately as you will have never experienced in your life, but some will not..Thank you for your answer.

First, I speak a very OK Spanish, I've been used to travelling and I've read many pages of the forum.

Sure, you don't know what you don't know, but you need to have the most accurate sense of it before knowing it. Otherwise you don't do anything and never take you camera.

Actually, it's just that your answer seems a little bit more alarming from what I've read so far.

I may not take my camera but I m really wondering about my cell 'cause if I buy another one I'll certainly don't use it when I come back.

I know Colombia is not a "safe" place but how do you "feel it" as a traveler? I've been to Peru and Brazil and have heard a lot of alarming things too and it was OK.

Do all of you guys prefer buying a less-expensive cellphone?

And about STDs.

Again I am asking you! What do you do? Do you avoid kissing at all cost? Do you avoid BBBJ at all cost?

Hi guys,

Looking for some advice.

Last year spent 6 months in Jomtien, had a great time, but was thinking as I love South American women so much more then Asian that I should check it out, been to Brazil a few times for holidays. No way going for 6 months, with Ziko & the costs there that is out, Argentina, same thing, been for holiday but don't fancy it for 6 months. So that brings me to the home of the worlds most beautiful women, Colombia, I have read many pages of reports on Medellin & on Bogota, I am not a beach person so no problem with that, am looking for a good standard of apartment in a safe area, decent local transport options, and good nightlife venues. From what I can gather there is nothing like WS in Pattaya, which is fine, but the advice and info I am looking for is, which city has a higher amount of better clubs, where will I get a good apartment with a decent pool, rough cost please, and also any other advice for a first time long stay visitor to Colombia. BTW my Spanish is very limited, a few words not conversational.

Thank you.

Thank you.I can only speak for Bogota, so I'll share my little knowledge.

According to the last census population is 8 million, according to the people who live there, 11-12 million. It's a reasonably compact city, rather than a sprawling metropolis, think NYC, not LOS Angeles. It's located about 8500' above sea level, which gives it a mild climate. Daytime Temps in the 70's, nighttime in the high 40's. Humidity is usually low. Because of the mild temperatures, most apartments and hotels don't have air conditioning or heating, they don't need it. Mid afternoon, even after a long walk, my room was comfortable. If you get out of bed at 5 am it might be a bit chilly, but by 8 am it will be fine.

The average local attire runs from business casual to business formal. You won't see anyone in shorts and t-shirts are not common. The exception is during Ciclovia. Polo shirts, good jeans or slacks and a light jacket are pretty standard attire.

The better parts of the city are to the north, Usaquen, Santa Barbara, Parque 93 are a few of the better areas. For a long-term rental you can probably find a place for under $900/ month USD. If you're staying for 6 months, I'd recommend finding something for 2 weeks, then find a long-term place.

Transportation system is good. The main bus routes have dedicated lanes, so traffic jams aren't a problem. Cost is 1700 pesos, 1300 off-peak. There are smaller buses which run on the main streets. The fare gets you into the bus stop on the main routes. You can ride, transfer and change buses as often as you want for the one fare. During rush hour the buses are packed, not full, jam packed, can't move a muscle, there is no way anyone else can fit. Either wait for another bus, they come along every few minutes, or follow behind a good looking girl. When the buses aren't packed, there's occasional live entertainment, singing, guitar playing, they work the buses for tips.

The food is excellent. There are plenty of US franchises if you get homesick. You can even find a Starbucks, unless you would rather get better coffee at half the price at Juan Valdez, locations everywhere. The tap water is safe to drink and tastes fine, you won't need to keep a supply of bottled water. Most restaurants have open or outside seating, because of the altitude, bugs aren't a problem. Restaurant bills include a 10% propina (tip). It's optional, you won't need to leave an extra tip.

Bogota businesses are grouped together. You'll see 3 blocks where almost every business is a bicycle store, or a hardware store, or a pet supplies store. It's a little confusing.

Ciclovia- Every Sunday morning they shut down a lot of the main roads to cars and open them up for bikes, skateboards, roller skates, or however else you want to exercise. If you have a thing for hot women in yoga pants on bicycles, that's the time for it. You might consider buying a bike.

The main red light district is known as Santa Fe. It's located between the downtown / government / cultural center and Chapinero. Plenty of strip clubs, casas and street walkers to be found there. There are also a few other areas with p4 p options. Santa Fe is not particularly safe late night.

There are lots of museums, galleries and other cultural attractions, most located in the same area. There are also quite a few nearby attractions worth a visit. There should be plenty to keep you entertained. There are also schools to improve your Spanish. If you're going to be in Colombia for 6 months, you'll need more than just a few words of Spanish.

Regular nightclubs are mostly concentrated around Zona Rosa and Parque 93. Both are reasonably safe areas with plenty of shopping and dining options.

There's nothing like Walking Street. If you want Walking Street you should go to Pattaya.

Jjbee62,

Thank you very much for you very informative reply, very much appreciated. I am surprised by the temperatures you mentioned, I was not thinking of the elevation. I do enjoy relaxing in a pool, but it would need to be a lot hotter then you mentioned. But thanks again. Looks like I will be back to Jomtien LOL.

Daytime in Bogota would be okay, but not at night.

Basically I want to meet cute girls go to nice restaurants and party. I'm only there for 2 weeks so if it's good I'll return. I spent a lot of time in DR visiting friends and they said get your ass to Barranquilla it's warm and a lot of cute girls looking for the gringo. So I booked a 3 city vacation. I've joined CC but my Spanish is still raw. The downside about DR is daytime. I like to make most of the day. Barq I can go on beach maybe. Bogota is just for 3 days after I arrive there. And the one that I am really looking forward to is Med. I got a great deal on the best hotel. So I have to get my head down and learn the native tongue.

Decent hotels in both areas, or pick a hotel between the two, which puts both in walking distance.

It's good you are going to Bogota first. You'll have a few days to adjust to the altitude before going to Medellin.

Earlier I wrote about taking Colombian girls to places like Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, and Aruba.

This time I took a non-working Colombian girl to Europe. I used to fuck her sister who used to work at LE Palace in Panama, but she got married. She finally gave her younger sister the go ahead to be with me. She works in Panama, but she definitely isn't a working girl, so we left from Panama. I found the cheapest way to get to Europe was Panama to Barcelona. I seen round trip tickets for $557, but I went with some $602 tickets because of better times and a shorter layover.

It was no problem for her to leave Panama, because she has a permit to work and live there and has a ID card for Panama. Some ignorant a-hole with Iberia airlines asked me when will I leave Panama when I return from Barcelona. I was thinking, WTF? This ignorant fucker. The other guys there seemed to be like don't worry about that, but he kept insisting on a ticket departing Panama. Well, I didn't have one. I float around the globe as I wish, usually with 1 way tickets, and it bites me in the ass once in awhile. I spent like 5 minutes on my phone and bought a ticket to Medellin, round trip, which was cheaper. They let me just hang out near the counter. When I said I have a ticket, I saw a lady, and she was helping me, and the ignorant fucker tells her to come talk to him. Seems like I was already given the go ahead to go on my flight. I just bought a ticket, and they didn't ask to see it, or anything about it. I was thinking about cancelling the flight, but going to Medellin seems good to me. Way better than Panama.

OK, so about her. We arrive in Madrid first. Immigration was actually quite easy. I made sure it was known we are traveling together and I am taking care of her. The only question he really asked was how much money do I have with me. He was happy that I have enough to take care of ourselves and let us pass. Customs was easy also. We enjoyed Barcelona. It is a good thing she knew she had to give me sex. We had sex after we ate dinner and got back to the room. But, I have to say she acts like she only has had 1 or 2 boyfriends her whole life. Not too exiting. But I got someone to take pictures of me when I want, LOL. I actually did not have tickets to other places. I just went with the flow. I know I wasn't going to be able to go screw hookers, but I wanted to see some places that I always wanted to see. We went to Paris, Prague, Amsterdam, Geneva, Rome, and back to Barcelona. There is no need to do any immigration or anything again after entering Europe the first time. So, you can take your Colombian beauty with you to Europe very easy. I just had to tell mine to stop saying gracias unless we were in Spain. I didn't give her 1 dollar or Balboa or peso when we returned and she never asked me to buy her any souvenirs, which is a good thing. I think I would have been much happier with a girl that had some experience though. In other words, a hooker would have been more fun, but probably would have asked for money, and ask me to buy things. A trade off I guess.

Well, no. It would be much better from that perspective to go to the lower city first and acclimate, then go to the higher city.I was wondering what he was talking about. When I go to Bogota the altitude usually gets to me for 2 days. In Medellin maybe half a day at most and I am OK with the altitude. Things such as ED drugs actually help with that. When I felt bad in Bogota a few times or Quito, I would take Cialis just to make me feel better.

On a 2 week vacation, you will be with hookers. They will hang around restaurants and clubs with you but guess what? They are working.

My recommendations before would have been for you to hit Medellin for a majority of the days and then maybe 3 days of Cartagena because it is an amazing city and has decent chica options. I would now rank my favorite Colombian cities to monger in (after 30+ trips) Is Medellin, Bogota, Cali and then Cartagena. Bogota is growing on me while Cartagena is slipping for me.

Bogota just has sooo many different options (because it is a huge city) Santa Fe, the higher end brothels, lots of escorts services and it seems to me 90% of the girls I find online through CC or SA are from Bogota.

Cartagena is dropping because LDV is not the same as it was years ago, the talent level is dropping, the prices rising and the service is not as sweet IMO. Clock tower girls are really hit or miss and I just paid a girl 250 for ST there a night ago and in Bogota or mde that is about a normal TLN price.

I forgot how many days you have but I would do something like this 3 days Bogota, 6 days Medellin, 2-3 Cartagena and then back to Bogota for a couple days before you fly home.

Thanks guys I will go after Bogata. I booked a flight to Barq so I'll just keep it and catch a bus or cab down to cart. Any recommendations on good hotels?I usually stay in an apartment. Many of the nice hotels are not very chica friendly. So if you plan on bringing 3-4 girls up a night then grab an apartment. Most of the times these days I bring one up per night so I book room for two people and she registers at front desk as my girl friend. This has worked at the Hilton, the Hampton Inn and the Hotel Caribe. But parading a girl in front of everyone at the Hilton or Caribe would depend on what she is wearing. If she looks classy I have had no problems registering her. I wouldn't take a girl in an obvious hooker outfit to either of those places. Just take her to a nearby motel and fuck her and then go back to the nice pools at either of those places and chill alone.

This post is the first installment of my serialized reporting on my first trip to Colombia in late August and early September 2016. This first installment provides an overview of my trip and a comparison of my experiences in Medellin (MDE) and Cartagena (CTG). I will follow up with topical installments (instead of the usual chronological format) in the appropriate MDE and CTG sections, respectively.

Colombia had long been on my agenda due to experiences with Colombians in the US, which played a key role in the development of my taste for Latinas. I decided, however, to get my feet wet in Costa Rica (CR) and the Dominican Republic (DR) first when I read about the more challenging environment in Colombia, for which I would be better prepared with more experience under my belt. The lessons that I learned in CR and the DR and the improvements in my Spanish served me well in Colombia.

I had a two-week window for my trip. MDE was my top priority due to its well-deserved reputation for abundant hotties, its top-notch mongering scene, and the advantages of staying at the Mansion as a Colombia newbie. I figured that a week in MDE would suffice, leaving me wondering what to do with my remaining week. I decided on CTG, given its combination of a substantial mongering scene, an appealing Old City, and a range of non-mongering activities there. I chose to visit MDE first and CTG second because I figured that my manhood would be worn out and I would be low on leche after a week in MDE. I planned on mongering less in CTG because there were more non-mongering things that I wanted to do there and because my research on the CTG mongering scene suggested that it would be less appealing and rewarding for me than that of MDE.

Overall, I had a fantastic time and I plan to return to Colombia in the future. I found that Colombia's reputation for fine women is well-deserved; the chicas there were significantly hotter than those of CR and the DR. With that said, the specific body type that had initially attracted me to Colombians in the US tall & thick with big tits & ass was less pervasive than I had thought it would be, especially at the Mansion, where gringo tastes must have fostered a shorter and skinnier demographic than I would have preferred. The demographic at the two main CTG strip clubs (ISIS and Pleyclub) was the closest fit for my personal taste in body types, which seems to be closer to that of Colombians than that of my fellow gringo mongers. In CTG I was usually competing not with other gringos but with Colombians, who were often much quicker on the draw than me.

I found Colombian full service to be even more intense than I had anticipated; in my opinion, they significantly outperformed Costa Ricans and somewhat outperformed Dominicans in this area. These chicas clearly knew how to make effective use of their lower bodies in often remarkable ways. In several cases, the full service was so intense that I felt like I was doing a wild animal or a wild animal was doing me. In fact, one of my main criticisms was that some of the chicas were too rough for my taste, and I had to ask a few of them to slow down and soften up.

The quality of Colombian blowjobs was more inconsistent, from fantastic to nearly non-existent. I got a greater sense in Colombia than I did in CR and the DR that some chicas preferred to focus on full service and keep the blowjobs to a minimum, and that many chicas were reluctant to provide a blowjob finish due to fears of leche in their mouths. I also found that thinner chicas often gave better blowjobs and seemed more into it, whereas the more voluptuous chicas tended to focus more on full service.

One of the perennial frustrations of this hobby for me and other mongers has been that the hotter chicas are often weaker performers. In other words, they are often starfishes in bed and think that you will leche just by looking at them and putting your manhood inside them. This problem never surfaced for me in Colombia, as it did occasionally in CR and the DR. In fact, I found the opposite to be true: the hotter Colombian chicas were usually stronger performers than the less attractive (but still cute) ones. I am curious as to whether or not other mongers have had similar experiences in Colombia, as this experience may prompt me to revise my selection of chicas in future visits to Colombia.

MDE was simply fantastic from a mongering perspective and was by far my best overseas mongering experience yet. I plan to return to MDE repeatedly in the future. The downside of MDE is that it is low on non-mongering sights and activities that interest me; I need something to do when I am not actively mongering, if only in order to give my body time to recharge for the next session. I would have little or no reason to visit MDE if it were not a top-notch mongering destination.

I had lower expectations for the CTG mongering scene, but it was even less enjoyable for me than I had expected. I had a higher proportion of mediocre and negative experiences in CTG than I did in MDE, the DR, and CR; only Amsterdam yielded a higher proportion of such experiences. I did nonetheless have some great times with a handful of gems that I found in CTG just enough to outweigh the negative and mediocre experiences and my general distaste for the CTG mongering scene. CTG is, however, a more interesting city to visit than MDE and had more fulfilling non-mongering activities. In my case, scuba diving and exploring the Old City. Having crossed those non-mongering activities off my list and decided that the CTG mongering scene is not for me, I see no reason to return there. I did have a good time overall, though, and I am still glad that I went there once.

In my opinion, the MDE mongering scene wins hands down over that of CTG for the attractiveness of its chicas, the quality of their service, and the lower cost of obtaining those services (in terms of time, money, energy, risk, and hassle).

I had high expectations for the beauty of paisa women, and the women that I saw in MDE both chicas and the general population. Exceeded even those high expectations. I found the women in CTG both chicas and the general population less attractive than those in MDE, with the significant exception of CTG's two main strip clubs (Isis and Pleyclub). It was probably not a coincidence that the chicas in CTG that I found most attractive were frequently from MDE.

I found that the quality of service was consistently higher in MDE. I did not have a single negative or mediocre experience with any of the Mansion / Facebook chicas there, and my only two weak sessions there were in cheap Centro casas (you get what you pay for). In contrast, the quality of service that I received in CTG varied considerably, from fantastic to terrible, regardless of price or venue. In fact, two of my worst sessions there were also the most expensive, and one of my best sessions there was also the cheapest one.

A pet peeve of mine was the pervasiveness of CBJ in CTG; a slight majority of chicas there flatly refused BBBJ, and many of the minority that offered BBBJ charged extra for it. In contrast, I only encountered CBJ in MDE in two of my three cheap casa sessions that were also weak in other ways. I got the impression from the regular Mansion mongers and my own sessions and interviews at the Mansion that BBBJ was typical (but not universal) for Mansion / Facebook chicas.

MDE mongering was not only cheaper but yielded better value for my money, time, energy, and patience than CTG. For example, 300 K COP can get you a TLN with a hot Mansion chica (say 8 or 9) and GFE, BBBJ, etc. In contrast, some of the less attractive CTG chicas at the Clock Tower or La Dolce Vita (an average of 7 or 8) wanted 300 K COP for an hour, often without GFE, BBBJ, etc.

Finding suitable chicas was much more convenient in MDE, especially at the Mansion, where one can just walk downstairs to the pool or La Cueva or "order in" from Facebook. The concentration of so many casas so close to each other in Centro greatly facilitates casa runs there.

In contrast, the key CTG mongering venues are more geographically dispersed, and it sometimes took hours of searching at multiple venues for me to find a suitable chica. Exploring the CTG scene also imposes more overhead logistical costs beyond the cost of an actual session, I. E. Cab rides, drink minimums, cover charges, multas / salidas, etc. On a given night, these logistical costs could reach or exceed 150 K COP a typical rate for one hour with a Mansion chica. And you might not have even gotten laid yet! Many of the main CTG venues also do not start up until late at night, which can be a problem if you are not a night person or you want to wake up early to do other things during the day. My most consistently positive results in CTG came from a virtual venue: Tinder, to which I resorted when the traditional physical venues did not yield the results for which I had hoped.

The biggest differences for me, though, were in the respective atmospheres of each city's mongering scene and the attitudes and behaviors of their respective chicas. The MDE Mansion / Facebook chicas were always friendly and persistent in seeking business, but not pushy or aggressive. They were very well-behaved, and I experienced almost no drama or misbehavior with them a welcome contrast to CR, the DR, and CTG. The worst thing that any of them did to me was to have me buy her a drink and then walk off with it instead of keeping me company as she drank it. The level of camaraderie among the Mansion mongers was also an integral factor in my enjoyment of MDE and a welcome contrast to the relative isolation that I experienced as a solo monger in CR, the DR, and CTG. Some of the Mansion regulars went out of their way to show me the ropes as a MDE newbie, and we exchanged useful tips and feedback about the chicas that we saw or wanted to see.

The single worst feature of CTG for me was in the behaviors and attitudes of its chicas. They often displayed a brusque business-like impatience and a tendency to rush into a deal that made it hard or impossible for me to interview them to my satisfaction and set the right tone for a good session. Even more frustrating, once I did decide to bring an independent CTG chica to my apartment, was that so many of them asked for payment up front, which I always refused. One chica also tried to pull the "I meant dollars, not pesos" scam. I had to abort three sessions because of these issues, prompting one of these chicas to threaten to call the police. Such issues also detracted from two other sessions.

My two cents: perhaps MDE remains a top-notch mongering destination in part because there are fewer other reasons for gringos to go there, leaving the field open to dedicated mongers. In contrast, perhaps the large scale of non-mongering tourism in CTG has corrupted the local mongering scene by encouraging chicas to take advantage of mainstream tourists who do not know any better.

The presence, absence, and character of mongering institutions in each city are also factors. I suspect that the Mansion / Facebook chicas were so well-behaved and provided such good service in part because they wanted to maintain their reputations in this smaller, more closely-knit community and did not want to risk their access to the critical Mansion client base. (I wonder how those same chicas would have acted if I had met them through other means or in another setting). At the Mansion, I almost felt like I was part of a family or a close circle of friends.

In contrast, CTG left me with the sense that I was on my own in the Wild West, and there was no monger-friendly institution to keep the chicas in line and discourage bad behavior or poor performance for example, even something as simple as the Del Rey keeping out known troublemakers. Indeed, one of CTG's key mongering institutions, La Dolce Vita, evidently colludes with chicas to hustle mongers into buying them overpriced drinks. Perhaps what CTG could use is its own Mansion, Cocal, Del Rey, or New Garden. The lack of a major chica-friendly mongering hotel in CTG (unless you are Israeli and can get into Casa Benjamin) is not only a logistical issue but may also impede the development of a sense of community by driving and isolating mongers into their individual apartments.

So here are some questions with which I hope to initiate a fruitful discussion.

MDE regulars what non-mongering activities keep you busy in MDE when you are not either engaged in a session or searching for your next one? What do you do when you need to take time off to give your manhood a break and rebuild your supply of leche?

CTG regulars why does CTG appeal to you as a mongering destination, instead of or in addition to MDE? Why go to CTG when the mongering in MDE is (in my opinion) so much better? Is it the setting and appeal of the city of CTG itself and its non-mongering activities?

I chose to visit MDE first and CTG second because I figured that my manhood would be worn out and I would be low on leche after a week in MDE..First off what a great summarized detailed post, cannot wait to see more of the details of your exact spots and mongering experiences within each of the cities thread. Anyways I am no veteran or expert unlike some users here that claim they have been mongering in Colombia for decades, and I cannot compare the mongering environment of Medellin to anything else like you since I have not traveled anywhere else in the world for that hobby. As a Matter of fact the first time I went to Medellin I did not go at all for that intention, I went with my paisa friend that invited me to go there and visit his family with him and he is the one that introduced me to that environment, I was reluctant at first of course because I am super young and thought paying for sex was the stupidest waste of money ever but seeing how stunningly attractive Colombianas were and how fucking cheap it was to fuck them, cheaper than a what typical date costs me here in the states with my GF I was like literally "fuck it" LOL he was like my "Mansion" experience, thus I have never step foot in the mansion either. Either way with MDE within these two years I have made 10 trips, very affordable for me to fly there since I am in FL and as you noticed mongering, eating, lodging etc etc is super cheap with our heavier currency. I read and saw information here about each city, and with Cartagena I have no idea what mongering scene is there as I have never traveled there, I imagined it was kindly non existent and when I see the thread here in ISG and see how much less detailed it is with less activities and it is generally a more expensive sexual trip than in MDE I decided from that I would never go there to get Pussy LOL. Now Bogota seems to be a good mongering environment, I am going to go there for the first time in a few days and it looks like there a ton more options when it comes to pussy and it is a bigger city and more to do.

Now to answer your question:

MDE regulars what non-mongering activities keep you busy in MDE when you are not either engaged in a session or searching for your next one? What do you do when you need to take time off to give your manhood a break and rebuild your supply of leche?

I have not made a solo mongering trip ever to Medellin, I usually enjoy peoples company whether it be my paisa friend for mongering or I either go for a non-mongering trip and stay over there with my non-pro Girlfriend over there. I did however came to find a lot of things to entertain myself over there, again I go for short period of times (5 day or 1 week vacations max) so it is hard for me to get bored, but in each trip out of ritual I always go up the rail and go to Parque Arby, I enjoy the natural view of the sky rail, ride a chiva, ride a bike in the mountains enjoy the natural scenery, so that takes my whole day right there honestly. I do also enjoy Soccer a lot so thanks to a close friend I made over there he introduced me to a few indoor soccer venues and street pick up spots, its an activity I can do between my recharges, also I can always relax in a nice bar in Parque Lleras or a cantina in el centro having a few beers talk to the locals and make new friends and shit. I am not Colombian, but I am of Mexican descent so with my Spanish I always try my best to expand my social circle, whether it be to meet more chicas, have friends to play soccer or any other activity I like, so at this point for me its really hard for me to get bored there because when I go there is always someone I know that has something interesting to do or to show me or someone I can always hang out with even if I traveled alone and even if I had no GF there, otherwise I can just hang with my GF there. If you do get yourself a chica or a semipro that will be happy to spend time with you then I highly recommend you travel up to San Jeronimo and bathe in some nice spring like swimming pools with your nice chica with the breathtaking view of the city getting turned up and lit with some aguila or aguardiente and smoking some "good shit", perhaps even rent a finca, trust me it is impossible to get bored there at all!

I will go to Bogota and then I will do a trip comparison like how you did with MDE vs CTG.

Hey guys,

Anyone give me a go-to on Tulua in the Valle del Cuaca. It's somewhere near Cali. For my sins, I seem to have got myself my very own puta Colombian here in Spain. (Be warned! The perils of mongering. The advantage is supposed to be. They go home. Remember this important detail! They don't move in & take over your life.) Now we have flights booked in February. Go see the family.

So am I headed into the back yard of the Cali Coke Cartels, or what? Are there bears? Can you get a decent beer?

Any info would be welcome.

Any info would be welcome.Don't do it. Took a bus (or maybe it was a van, but I am sure we got it at the bus station) there once with one of my girls to go to her cousin's funeral. We were only there for the service and went back to Cali after. You will be bored out of your mind. Never go home with chicks. Let them do that on their own. You will be the odd man out.

As you can see on the Map it is in between Cali and Pereira. I looks like a very small town.

Yeah. I looked it over on street view. I'm actually staying at a place called Aguaclara. Barrio to the north. The Googlemobile seems to have passed through a couple streets. Apparently they own no cars. Only vehicles are motorcycles & horse & buggy. Quite encouraging, really. At least the locals aren't employed in knocking their wheels from the city, unlike some London suburbs I try & avoid. And kingpins in the international drug trade would probably run to BMWs, not Dobbin.

I passed through Tulua once driving in a car between Cali and Pereira (10 years ago). Pretty easy drive, decent highway, no security issues whatsoever. Plenty of policia and militares posted along the highway occasionally, a couple of no-hassle checkpoints. I felt secure. I hung out in Cartago a bit, which looks similar to Tulua. Very sleepy, quiet place, I. E. , boring. I find Aguila and Club Colombia beers satisfactory.

I've been avoiding posting here because of the petty snipes and put-downs if you suggest you are paying 5 k COP more than some other person, and I'm not going to delve into a whole political analysis. But in brief, the status quo (which won) is probably not so good for the country in general in the long run, but benefits us mongers.

For the rich and middle class, there's not much upside to the deal. For the poor it's a different story. No deal = no peace = less foreign investment & economic development = continued poverty and inequality.

I really doubt there will be a re-negotiation. It took way too many years to get to this point. They are not going to start the process again and hack away at it for another 2-3 years.

So that means the war continues. The deal sucked for sure, but it's naive (foolish even) to think a better deal could be had. It's also naive to think Uribe or his proteges can totally stamp out the FARC; they'll go deep underground, lash out from time to time, but they'll always be there in the background, getting what they can from the trafficking and kidnapping and "protection" biz.

Apologies if I sound too cynical or politically incorrect. Status quo means an ever refreshing supply of young girls for the hooker scene.

Call me evil, but I was actually starting to worry that a peace deal would spark an economic "renaissance" in the country which would mean less girls getting into the pay-for-play biz. It's kind of funny, but I actually felt a twinge of guilt that the country has (barely) chosen to stick with the status quo; instead of letting go of the past, they are still stuck in it. As I said, it does probably benefit us, and apologies again if that sounds a bit cynical.

If anyone cares, I did an experimental transaction at a Citibank machine on October 6. I withdrew 1,200,000 pesos and the the conversion was done at 2927. I may have been able to withdraw a larger amount, just not sure. The girl at the bank told me that each USA Bank has its own arrangement with Citi about limits. I am BofA in the USA The ATM charge was $5.00. I will be using CapOne soon. No extra charges after local ATM fee. (yes I know about Charles Schwab).

Dear gents,

I'm a experienced Asia visitor and know my way around there. But I like to give Central / South America a chance as well.

I don't speak Spanish, I would love to monger and do some sightseeing in cities. I tend to make a combination visit to Colombia and Cuba but I'm open to any other suggestions.

I would appreciate some help here what countries / places to visit.

Important for me: easy to find the freelancers? Affordable prices?

Thank you so much in advance.

Thank you so much in advance. If I did not speak Spanish (I do), and wanted to go to Latin America for the first time to monger and sight-see, I would go to Costa Rica. But the cities are not where the good sight-seeing is; however, it's a small country and many beautiful sight-seeing trips can be made from San José. I would say that the only Latin American country where less English is spoken than in Colombia would be Paraguay, or maybe Bolivia. Colombia is also more dangerous than most mongering destinations. If you want even more English than in Costa Rica, you could go to Panamá. It's fucken hot there, but if you are okay with Asia, I would guess heat doesn't bother you too much. Colombia would be cheaper but almost every bar in Costa Rica has a few free-lancers coming and going. Flights to Colombia tend to be expensive as compared to Costa Rica or Panamá, so it would take some time to make up the airfare difference with the cheaper hookers, like probably at least a week. Don't know where you are based, but right now a good deal is to fly to Central America through Toronto.

Somehow Colombia attracts me more then most other countries in Central / South America, but if speaking Spanish is highly, very highly recommended I better let this idea go for now and consider your option.

Still thinking of a combination Medellin / Panama / San Jose but I need to look into that.

Thanks again for your info, its appreciated.

The other significant difference in Colombia as opposed to the other countries you mention is there is way, way more silicone (or whatever they use these days), both in tits and ass. If you like that, great, but if you don't, you might be kind of surprised. Pussy is somewhat cheaper in Colombia, though. However, some of that difference will go away without Spanish.

Air travel within Colombia is almost too cheap to pass up. Point to point flights between most of the major cities are 50 k pesos or less, although you need to have a little flexibility to get the cheapest rate.

If you're flying into Colombia, pick the cheapest destination. Chances are you will save a lot of money.

Example:

IND to CLO round trip is $872.

IND to MDE round trip is $838.

IND to CTG round trip is $706.

IND to BOG round trip is $699.

BOG to CLO round trip is $69,900 pesos.

BOG TO MDE round trip is $99,900 pesos.

That's $25 to $33 round trip and most flights are only an hour or so.

The cheapest fares are on Viva Colombia, which also flies to Miami (one way, Miami to Bogota, leaving at 11:20 am tomorrow for $72.40).

On my last trip to MDE last summer, more than one chica complained about my pubic hair (I don't have that much, nothing out of the ordinary). One chica even offered to shave me! Another refused service, she said it was gross. Several gals stated Colombian guys always shave down there. I guess I'm old school; in my day and age guys never shaved down there; is this common now for guys to shave their pubic hair in USA and Colombia? Planning another trip in Dec. Thanks!

I guess I'm old school; in my day and age guys never shaved down there; is this common now for guys to shave their pubic hair in USA and Colombia? Planning another trip in Dec. Thanks! As a general rule, most chicks don't want to get a mouthful of your pubic hair. I have found I have received better blowjobs from both working girls and plain Jane girls, since I trimmed. And I use the word trim, specifically. I don't think they are expecting you to have little boy crotch, just because most of them are shaved and have a little girl crotch, now.

And here is another perk. Your cock might be bigger than you think, once you get the pubes trimmed back. I thought my dick was getting smaller as I got older. What I wasn't paying attention to the was the fact that my pubes were getting longer and thicker, just like the hair up my nostrils and on the back of my ears. It has been said that as you lose hair on your head, it starts to pop up where you don't want it. Anyways, I trimmed mine back with a personal groomer and voila. My dick seemed to be its old self (almost). Turns out it had been obscured by the overgrowth of pubic hair. I should have paid more attention when my ex-wife was complaining that she didn't like to suck my cock anymore, because she didn't like the hair in her mouth. I didn't recall her having a problem with going down on me, only hours after we first met in Budapest. So, just think of it as trimming the hedges. Just that it is a lot easier, and a lot more fun (or at least a lot less grief). That goes for your scrotum and "taint" as well. I never got a good cat bath down between my legs until I trimmed it good. And if you want to know who gave it to me, check out my review of Anita on the Berlin forum.

That's $25 to $33 round trip and most flights are only an hour or so.

The cheapest fares are on Viva Colombia, which also flies to Miami (one way, Miami to Bogota, leaving at 11:20 am tomorrow for $72.40).

http://www.vivacolombia.coThat is how I always do it. It also give you an excuse to stay in the city that you land a couple of days to change things up.

Thanks!I am surprised to hear that. I know Asian WGs are picky about that, but Colombian girls? Many of them are not shaved. I would suggest you buy a groomer and groom down there once a week. If you shave it completely, you would have to deal with the stubles. Girls will complain about that more.

I usually use an antiobiotic cream like polysporin after to heal any burns you may get. You may get burned occasionally so do this a week before your trip.

I've never shaved anywhere lower than my face and I've never had a girl comment. Maybe it's because I'm no more hairy than average, except on my head, where I do get comments.

My issue is that I like girls with natural hair, but I've never found one in Colombia yet. Except for one, but she was regular and never in business, and of the bohemian kind.

A few years ago, some girls were unshaved in Ecuador (Guayaquil, calle 18), but I guess that may have changed because of the global influence of internet porn where shaving is apparently the obligatory dress code. Anyone with recent experience in Ecuador?

So, where in the world can a guy still find girls with hair?

When I was young, I had no problem with lots of pubic hair, but I think I've become accustomed to freshly trimmed snatch.

I didn't really know much about this, but I did just seen someone on the Cartagena report about this. I'm in Panama at the moment and seen a young Colombiana that I know very, very well. I don't need to pay her for the first time that we meet if it has been awhile. I gave her $20 to cover taxis for an overnight last night. She's getting more and more lazy though.

Anyways, she normally works in Cartagena. She started at LDV, then moved on to Tinder in Cartagena. Now she hasn't been working in Cartagena much anymore because she said there are too many Venezuelan ladies in Cartagena and they are accepting much lower prices. She said sometimes the police go around looking to send them out of the country.

On my last night in Medellin, 13 November it was another dumb holiday and the usual places were closed, so I tried online for my first time in Colombia. Of the two girls that wrote back, one of them told me she was from Venezuela. The other girl might have been also, but she didn't say it. So I have to say there is a big trend of Venezuelan ladies coming in to Colombia. It is funny to see they have driven out some Colombian ladies from Cartagena. I have to say I fucked a Venezuelan lady in one of casas in Cartagena last year also. And in Suriname, if anyone goes there, there is a club that used to be quite mixed with various ladies. Now it is almost all Venezuelan ladies. Hmm. I see them flooding Curacao also. I guess if you and your family is going hungry, they need to get the hell out of Venezuela to make some money. Hmmm. Now that I think about it, I seen quite a few Venezuelan ladies in Quito, Ecuador just recently.

Viva the revolucion.

In the Boca Chica Dominican Republic thread they are talking about the Venezuelans charging more than the Dominicans and Haitians, but in Cartegena they are undercutting the Colombians. But I guess in Colombia they pretty much look the same as the Colombians so they need a leg up, whereas in the Dominican Republic they may be seen as a novelty.

If anybody cares: On November 17 I withdrew 2,000,000 pesos at the Citibank ATM and the conversion was done at 3099 pesos / dollar. Citibank charges a flat add on fee of $5. 00 US. Next month I will pick up my new TD BANK online account card. Like the Schwab card the international fees will be rebated at the end of the month and there will be NO conversion charges. (Bank of America charged me approx. $17.00 for the previously mentioned transaction.).

Has anyone tried using a prepaid travel cash card like Travelex Master Card in Colombia? Do they work in Colombia to withdraw money in COP from ATMs? The Travelex MasterCard have chips. I believe the Visa Prepaid cards do not have chips. Or does anyone know of any other prepaid cash cards that can be used in Colombia? This card is to avoid bringing too much cash in hand while travelling and not using your regular bank ATM cards for security purposes. I know people have mentioned about Citibank and Charles Schwab on this forum. But wondering if anyone has tried using a prepaid card.

Thanks for your response.

I'm coming to Bogota a week from Tues and very excited!Las Galerias is a shopping and nightlife district west of Chapinero. The southeast corner of the area is at Carrera 25 and Calle 53. There are a few massage parlors in the area, the one with all the ads, Attraction Spa doesn't seem to have any good reviews.

There are several decent cheap hotels in the area.

We were way out of the tourist track in a smaller city when we sat down to have some food and some beer. Then out of the dark came to stunners and sat down next to us, and it didn't take long time before they smiled at us when they saw our look to their side. We went over to their table after finishing the food and asked if they wanted something to drink. After the obligatory small talk my wingman said (since I spoke Portuguese) ask if they are putas I denied but after he insisted long enough I agreed to do it and the response was as expected. But the point is, it changed the good vibes for a while and it's not worth doing it (and also it is to disrespect them).

She already knows she is a hooker. Why is it best if the guy is kept in the dark about it? Better for both parties to know up front. The disrespect would come after when she expects money and the guy that fucked her says what do you mean money? I do not have any money. I did not know you were a hooker. According to numbeo.com, both Santo Domingo vs. Medellin and DR vs. Colombia, are Santo Domingo and DR in a kind, average calculation 50% more expensive.

The countries have the same population-pyramid, GNP / capita, income distribution, minimum-wage, etc.

Colombia have it own industries, while I think the answer to why DR is so much more expensive is that they have to import everything, and only export agricultural products.

Colombia are expensive, the more advanced the product are. So if DR even does not have assembly plants for electronics, cars, homeware etc. It explains the difference.

I have lived in Colombia in long periods since 2006/09. I have never been to DR, I simply read here on the forum in periods, and got the conclusion that girls are way cheaper in DR, and "all seem available".

As a member on Dominican Cupid or Latineuro, especially the Cupid-Dominicanas, from age 18 (went to attack, and many really pretty ones responded.

Old veteran Ricker says they are little like asian people, does not respect your personal sphere, which they really do in Medellin.

But I got to know a few really hot girls, who didn't mind sending sexually explit photos. Katerine, she was 18-19, an 8-9, a pure 10 if you are into +18 girls, made skypeshows, on her own initiative. One memorable was when she was preparing to go to college and did a show in her little shool-dress. She wanted to get married, for life, and have children ASAP. Her sister, a taller model-type, 20-yo, was already married- and pregnant with- to a very good looking man in his 50-60th. And she came from a family, what can be considered DR: s middle-class.

Ricker, after have done the whole globe, finds the north east Brazilian girls to be the most autentic sweet hearts. Relaxed, with an aura of tranquility around the person, often with a smile, and helpful, not asking for anything in return. Brazil can become victim for the same thing that happend to Argentina 2002. I don't think it will happen, since foreign investor in Latin America goes to Brazil or Mexico, while the self-proclaimed superior portenos get 3% of Foreign Direct Investment.

I have never been to DR, I simply read here on the forum in periods, and got the conclusion that girls are way cheaper in DR, and "all seem available".You have the wrong conclusion partially. Organized prostitution is much bigger in Colombia so you will find a wide range of prices. There are nowhere near as many sex venues in DR. The cheapest place that I know of there is in the capital and costs 72 KCOP for 1 girl for 1 hour or 120 KCOP for 2 girls for 1 hour. Most other places that I label clip joints are going to want 240 KCOP for 1 girl for 1 hour. If you pick up a street walker in the capital she is going to want at least 90 KCOP for a short time. Last week when I was in a beach town freelance chicks were telling me 171 KCOP for short time and 285 KCOP for all night. And mind you I am not talking what I would consider high quality chicks. 99% of them sport fake hair which I can not get past.

Flip side about DR is you may be driving in the middle of nowhere and see a chick waiting for a bus or thumbing a ride. You can pick her up and give her a ride and stop by a love motel and fuck her.

Although DR has a couple of fairly big cities, the country is not as sophisticated or refined as Colombia. The country pretty much has a rural air to it with a large majority of the population uneducated and speaking a type of Spanish that you may be hard pressed to figure out. For instance most of the country pronounces (and writes in most cases) facebook as fayboo. Many will also say and write Western Union as Wester Junior.

I live in Asia and have no idea what this means. People in Asia mind there own business more than people anywhere else on the planet.Asians are introverted, until when it comes to sell to tourists.

Main Isue; if Numbeo.com is right about cost of living being on avergage 50% higher in DR vs. Colombia, which I find as a big surprise since there live 10 million people in DR and also in Bogota, and Bogota is an very expensive city, compared to wages, and tourists, mongers, leave for Medellin and other cities. And it can be damn cool, without central heating even in in a 4 star hotel!

But if we pick a hot Dominicana in a mayor city, I doubt she can charge more than a girl from Colombia (Bogota maybe we must exclude). That's my impression, overall. From posts, from the age difference they accept. Also seem Dominicanas have a way of "I love you until you are 70". The man, the white man is a symbol of lifelong economic security. Does exist in some part in Colombia, but are vanishing away.

Paisas being a etnic group with exceptionally many cute girls; they are many time flat assed, while Dominicanas Got Ass. Many times to much. But They have Full Ass. Not yet common with silicon breats and lipo. But with natural round asses + silicones +lipo, they will be surpassing the paisas. The facial beauty might be lesser, but the supply will still be huge. It's still a tradegy for us normal income guys that Brazil keeps up it's 14% FED rate, which makes it to expensive, but maybe cities like Joao Pessoa can be something? No tourists and still cheap? Venezolanas, we can just hope that the socialist regime will fall and the even hotter sisters than the Colombianas will be available.

Venezolanas, we can just hope that the socialist regime will fall and the even hotter sisters than the Colombianas will be available. There is no comparison between the Dominican Republic and Colombia, unless you only compare Cartagena. The climate in Cartagena is similar to the DR. Except for Santiago, most places worth visiting in the DR are along the coast.

Dominican women are much more forward than Colombian women. The DR prostitutes will not waste time with eye contact. They will make contact and attempt to grab you. They will even approach you while you are eating in a restaurant.

Colombian women are much more restrained. They will make eye contact but in most situations expect you to make the first move.

Beauty, Colombia wins, no question. Colombian women are more likely to exercise and take care of their bodies. Dominican women just take care of their fake hair and fake fingernails. If you like overweight women, you'll find more in the DR. In a room full of Dominicanas, 30% I would consider and 10% I would take without question. In a room full of Colombians, 80% I would consider and 50% would top my list.

Mongering prices are higher in the DR, for less quality. Diversity is much better in Colombia and Colombians are more likely to be somewhat educated. However, Dominicanas are more likely to speak some English.

The DR has some nice beaches with inexpensive food and lodging and women are readily available. They will find you.

Colombia has some nice beaches and nice cities in the mountains, with great climate. I would never consider a room in the DR without air conditioning. I've never stayed in a room in Colombia with air conditioning (but I haven't been to Cartagena or Cali yet). My apartment in Medellin has no heat, no a / see and I'm comfortable day and night.

The one advantage to the DR is that you can feel like a star. Walk down the street, sit in a bar, or just go to the beach and women will look, they will try to get close to you and try to touch you. In Colombia, except in a mongering venue, you will only get a few glances.

For 50 k you can get a prepaid card from Tigo with 3 gigs of data or 30 days of service (whichever is used first). There are also 1 gig and 2 gig packages.

In El Poblado, if you're walking from Parque Lleras toward Dunkin Donut take a right just before Dunkin Donuts and there's a small cellphone store in a mall. They sell the prepaid card.

One of the major credit card processors in Colombia has been charging 3. 5% on CC transactions for a "foreign currency conversation" fee. I have encountered this mostly in Cartagena but it's also going on in Medellin. You'll see this in your final receipt.

How to not get fucked? Tell the person charging you to do it in Colombian Pesos. They are prompted once you insert your card to choose your currency or COP. Evidently they are trained to always pick your currency. If they already did and the prompt shows you anything other than COP then just tell them to rerun it as COP. No 3. 5% charge.

Still young women & Men's with envy claim how much they make. My friend has a Tecnica en Ingeria de proceso and she makes 800 mil. Realistic!/ Tusalario. Org / Colombia, a former reliable source, has a huge bug in their system. It says my friend makes like 3 millions. A professor makes 5-6 millions. A waiter 2, even 3 million. I have criticized the site, which has been accurate for years, but now has gone astray. 60% earn no more than the +700-1 million pesos. 40% of GDP ends up in the pockets of the 10% most richest, so numbers are totally wrong.

But among fancy Guapas & Alfa males in their late 20th or early 30th, can't accept that Colombia is poor, even if it makes progress, the % ending up of GDP growth goes to the-haves, while the middle class growth is at 1% of the population, up to 23%, but since there has been no improvement in "Gini-Index", Colombia still has the most unfair income distribution, except 10 African countries, that are rarely capitalistic countries with a stable currency, bank system etc. Bolivia is also at that level.

Still cocky career people deny this; claiming to make wages that are on almost 1st world level, with a cost of living that is 35-50% of a 1th level country, so they have more income, net net, than New Yorkers or CEOs in Western Europe.

Of course if you take into account for all the black money, that pops up as white somewhere, a few lucky people make good money, but they are a small minority.

The exception should be the center of Bogot where wages and prices has been climbing up to if not 1th but the 2th world wages and still went up to 2014. The boom that started 2002 has come to an end. Colombia's exports depend on oil prices, 50%, while Venezuela is at 90%. Easy come, easy go!

Estrato 6, just like in Argentina, make a lot of money in their home country, until the first signs of crisis occur. Then they move the money to countries with low or none tax on capital. Let's the crisis push down worth of real estate and capital intense industries and wages; then they buy back what they sold just a few years ago, for a fraction of the cost. This will never change. Argentina has done it since the 60's, also changing currency every 5-10 years, which the "Estrato 6" class know of well beforehand. Nor will the ambitious middle class attack the real enemy, they are simply to afraid, if not of Estrato 6, so to loose one's face in public and become an odd figure. No the middle class prerfer to keep as much a distance to the poor as possible instead. And often mock them. Both personally and as a class. They don't dare to respond.

As a monger; it's an expensive hobby, and that may lead you to think that average wages are much higher than they are.

Also restaurants; You stay in Estrato 5-6 barrios and of course you can easily mislead.

The enormous influx of drugs into the US and Europe are out of necessity and impossible to stop. The major part goes to Colombian and US and Western persons, banks and companies that hide this so very well.

But for an ambitious 33 yo old economist with complex or a prepago / sugar-baby, etc. This seems incomprehensible.

National pride, personal pride demands ignoring the real situation.

This is the negative side of "magical realism".

I am planning my first trip to Colombia for the fall of this year. I looking for a place near a nice beach with plenty of opportunities. Yes, I've RTFF but wanted to get some specific info. I'm not a big fan of implants as I like natural breasts so I'm wondering about that. It seems a lot of these girls have implants but I've never been so IDK. I'd rather book an apt or something similar to save on food expenses and that I'll most likely have to do laundry while I'm there (planning 10 days). I've mongered in Tijuana and Costa Rica so if anyone is looking for info on those places, I can share what I know. Thanks in advance for any information. Also, what is the weather like at that time of year.

Are the Colombianas in for bare back sex?

Are the Colombianas in for bare back sex?Yes. It's far less likely in casas. I've only had it offered twice in a casa. Its more likely with a prepago you know whom you wine and dine. I've found it on offer more in Cartagena during the day than at night. I've found it offered far less in Medellin. I've also met prepagos who would never do it out of fear that birth control pills would reduce their fertility (I'm no doctor so I have no clue if this is possible). You have to be really careful because there are lots of single moms in Colombia and abortion as far as I know is not something that's entirely legal or widely accepted. You can get a day after pill at pharmacies without a prescription but I wouldn't count on it being the most effective form of birth control.

Generally, if the prepago really wants to please you she will do it. Or if she's not careful and offers it to her customers regularly.

EDIT: beware, I've known one prepago who intentionally got pregnant (luckily not by me). She totally wanted to have a baby so she lied and got pregnant.

Are the Colombianas in for bare back sex?STD!

Am I the only one thinking, 'bareback. Uh no thanks on the AIDS'.

I wish every chick was always bareback for everything. But. STDs like AIDS do exist. I am shocked people don't care about the risks of banging prostitute s bareback. Mind blown. No disease for me thanks.

I'm trying to get a sense of the weather during labor day week (landing in first half of September). I originally planned to visit Medellin then Cartagena but from everything I've read it would be pouring rain on the coast. I'm looking for information from more seasoned travelers on where the best weather would be: Medellin? Bogota? Armenia? Am I correct in writing off the coast until at least the second half of November?

This is the negative side of "magical realism"."a former reliable source, has a huge bug in their system. It says my friend makes like 3 millions. A professor makes 5-6 millions. A waiter 2, even 3 million. ".

I have a few friends in Bogota, a tax account, an attorney, a nurse, a hotel owner of a hotel. The pay scale above seem vastly inflated, compared to what I know these friends make.

I've been using SA for a month as a premium member (for $80 bucks! Because the free membership is not very useful) and have read posts here about particular experiences. But I still have a lot of questions. One important question I have is how explicit can you be in a message? The site seems pretty serious about not facilitating prostitution. The girls' photos, for example, are not the least bit explicit. And they never describe what sexual services they provide. So can you ask a girl if she provides BBBJ or will that get you booted off the site?

I know that there must be a lot of variation from one girl to another, but I'd still appreciate comments on the general question of how SA girls differ from prepagos. Are the girls generally less hardened / cold / all business. I. e. More GFE? Are they less likely to steal something from your room? Are their photos more honest? Do they ask for more or less money than prepagos?

Is a girl who says she is looking for "Practical" lifestyle support, which translates to $3000/ month, available for a one-night stand for $100?

I don't think I've seen a single report on a SA girl here. Why is that? If someone doesn't want to share a girl I get that. But shouldn't we be posting at least bad reviews?

Thanks, Bob.

Get the girl's messenger info then talk about what the hell you want outside of the website. The website is just a vehicle to connect interested parties.

You do not go to the disco worrying about their rules. It is just a meeting point. You go in and meet chicks and get their numbers and call them later and take it from there. Same as any website.

Her: I like you.
Me: I like you too.
Her: Here is my number.

Does not get any simpler.

P. S. Someone did report on SA in the Medellin thread a few months ago.

Always good to ask yourself how do you know you are not paying more for the same chick you would have gotten somewhere else cheaper because of where you met her? In other words, the same chick you meet on SA that wants $100 may actually work in a strip club where you could get her for $40. Why pay $80/month when you can go to one of numerous free websites or strip clubs and order a chick up without having to try to figure out all the bullshit?

Thanks, Bob.I did SA the 1st time I went to MDE. Several wanted too much, several wouldn't answer for days, met 2, one cute hot fun, I like, 1 fatter then pics and crazy party girl.

Now I just cruise the Centro strip clubs and Casa's and redlight blocks, easier to see what you are getting and cheaper.

Thanks, Bob.You're in the wrong country if you think a practical lifestyle expectation is $3000 per month. That's roughly 9 million pesos. I had coffee and a long meeting this morning with a woman studying to be an orthodontist. She tells me, she can expect, after she finishes schooling about 1 million pesos per month. I sometimes give a 500 peso tip to taxi drivers and they are thrilled.

Adjust your thinking to match the local economy.

Use SA for initial contact. After exchanging initial messages ask "Tienes Whatsapp?" Before you do that, install Whatsapp. In Whatsapp tell them what you're looking for, whether an hour of fun, overnight stays, travel companion or exclux ssive use. Don't tell them you are looking for a long term arrangement, unless you plan on paying thousands for $30 pussy.

Some will tell you they want something long term. Some will accept short term. As you're talking to them, weed them out. You should be able to figure out which ones are worth the effort. Definitely don't offer $100 of the bat. That's where most will start negotiations. In fact, never discuss prices in dollars. Start thinking in pesos. When you get comfortable chatting, ask what they expect. Many will settle for 200 k (roughly $60) or less for an hour.

The prepago, who is a famous model, TV host, actress, etc, gets paid 40+60 k dolars for one night, via un "novio", corresponding to 70-100 million pesos. For one night.

Narcos can do this, but as I understand the girl, nor the novio are free. They get payed $$ of dollars, millions. Then they are property.

As I understand it this hidden society have cash as Pablo Escobar had. But the "novios" and girls get punished if they don't always act as and look as Supermodels, which many of them are. Breaking roles, like not showing up, behaving badly socially, embarrassing El Patron, can ultimately cost her her face; the criminals don't kill her but disfigure her face so she looks like a movie monster. Which must be a such a disaster, going from the top to become a monster. For life. The money allure. A person goes from earning 100 mil to 100 million pesos. And a life with only one rule; obey 100%, and then you get as much items and or money as you wish for, party with famous people and as often you like. But how to leave? The famous model can take vacation or quit, but they will always have her ID, her family if not herself. And can thereby call for her whenever they want, just to feel the / for many of themselves short-lived lives / total control over other people's lives and making them live in constant fear.

Normal mongers complain about 200 or 250 mil pesos, but the girl in the interview, as I understand it says a girl can be payed 100 million pesos for one night. The part I don't understand if she then also loses her freedom. The President Santos make like 200 million pesos, a YEAR, a famous and 10.0 young lady make that in 2 NIGHTS!

Have I got it right?

Actually one Fitness/Model Freak told me she wanted 20. I say it's 200 mil. No, she said it's 20 million! She said shh had been offered 50 million for one night that was the record, but I understand it that she never has entered this world, only being offered this kind of money. And she was a very well known model, I saw here on a you-tube clip, where she was in Peruvian TV-show. She was also Xtrememodel-model etc. around 2008/12

But her career was short lived.

I will add my experience with SA. I've had great success in getting what I feel is a value out of arrangements in the US. So on my last trip in July of this year I thought I would try it out in Medellin. I started talking to the girls about a month before hand trying to build up a connection, made small talk, flirted got their whatsapp. In the US I think I've had success because I try to make the girls feel like they are not a p4 p girl, however with the Medellin girls I think I should of talked price earlier. I waited until I got to medellin to talk prices and I thought they were all high. I had talked to 9's and 10's and also 7's and 8's too just because I thought I might get a better price and better sex out of the 7's and 8's but even they were asking for 300 mil for a couple hours. So from SA I had girls ask for $200 US for 2 hours, a few ask for 350 k-400 k for couple hours, many were at 300 k to come over. I guess I was just spoiled because just a few years ago I was getting tnl for 250 k. I return in a month and have been making lots of fb contacts, I haven't talked price with them yet but I'm hoping for better deals than SA.

I've sat with girls here in Spain (Colombianas amongst them) when they've been dealing with incoming whatsaps. Working xiicas have very short mental time horizons. Business does that to them. Any whatsap not leading to an immediate booking tends to be regarded as a waste of time. You have to see it from there side. They get stacks of whatsaps that trail on endlessly. Maybe one in four leads to a client. A lot of them are just guys using them as jerking off material. So your whatsaps are already tagged as WoT. Now you show up in-country for a live booking. They change the tag to "foreigner -more money than sense. " And you get high quotes. You want a girl. Hit her hard & fast. Service / price / where. Don't give her time to think. Odds on, she'll come back with her normal rate. Slow night you may do better.

Women fleeing poverty get the right to work as prostitutes.

https://www.economist.com/news/americas/21725351-women-fleeing-poverty-get-right-work-prostitutes-venezuelans-sell-sex-colombia?fsrc=scn/fb/te/bl/ed/venezuelanssellsexincolombiatosurvive

ON Saturday night in Parque Poblado in Medellíand, young people gather to drink, smoke and chat. Barbara and her cousin Sophia have more serious business: they hope to make enough money from selling sex to live decently after fleeing Venezuela, where survival is a struggle.

Barbara, who is 27, prefers her former occupation as the owner of a nail and hair business in Caracas, Venezuela's capital. But polish and shampoo are as hard to find as food and medicine, and so she has come to Medellíand. In an hour a sex worker can make the equivalent of a month's minimum wage in Venezuela. Colombian pesos "are worth something", unlike Venezuela's debauched currency, the bolívar, Barbara says. "At least here one can eat breakfast and lunch. ".

Some 4,500 Venezuelan prostitutes are thought to be working in Colombia; the trade is legal in both countries. But until recently they were often rounded up by police and deported back to Venezuela by the busload. That changed in April, when Colombia's constitutional court ruled that Venezuelan sex workers are entitled to work visas. Mass deportations violate international human-rights law, it said. "One should weigh up the reasons they decided to come to Colombia. And the specific situation they would face in Venezuela were they to be returned," said the ruling.

The case has its origins in Chinácota, a tiny town an hour's drive from the border city of seeúcuta. Last year the town's mayor closed down the Taberna Barlovento, a bar that also serves as a brothel, saying it violated zoning rules. Along with beverages, the bar offers four bedrooms just big enough to fit a mattress or two. Founded in 1935, the bar is a Chinácota institution, says Nelcy Esperanza Delgado, its owner.

When the mayor shut Ms Delgado down, she fought back in court. She and the prostitutes who worked there, including four Venezuelans, had no other income, she said. Closing Taberna Barlovento violated their right to work. The court agreed, and the bar reopened.

The ruling is likely to encourage Venezuelans who ply other trades. Daniel Pagés of the Association of Venezuelans in Colombia estimates that 1. 5 m of his countrymen are in Colombia, about 40% of them without proper papers. The sex workers are joined by electricians, mechanics, empanada vendors—all of whom are seeking a way to cope with their country's shortages and queues, and an inflation rate expected to exceed 700% this year. Many of them commute daily from Venezuela. They could use the court's ruling on sex workers to argue that they, too, are entitled to work visas, says Andrés Delgado Gil, the lawyer who argued Ms Delgado's case.

Colombians along the border are accustomed to Venezuelans streaming across, but the area's sex workers do not relish the competition. Venezuelans charge the equivalent of $10-13 for a 20-minute session; the Colombian rate is around $13-17. Colombians complain that they are being forced to cut their prices. While Colombia is El Dorado compared with Venezuela, economic growth is slow and the unemployment rate is 9. 4%. Colombians haven't forgotten that in 2015 Venezuela's president, Nicolás Maduro, blamed them for the shortages and deported 1,100. Many forded rivers on their way back to Colombia.

While the law is becoming more welcoming to desperate Venezuelans, Colombians are growing increasingly nervous about the influx. Barbara thinks other countries offer bigger opportunities. She is planning to move on to Ecuador, where customers pay in American dollars.

This article appeared in the The Americas section of the print edition under the headline "From cutting hair to turning tricks. ".

But use the internet sites, like paisasdivinas, masajiastaspaisas, etc; from 120 mil, from sometimes top notch girls. Emily and Maria both had 120 mil +40 for BBBJ. With e current exchange rate that is 40-53 us dollars. For sometimes divines girls if you are into boobs and ass and often already the girl have done something with her face; lips, nose. Just make them more pornografic.

If you speak Spanish, talk, hook up with girls at the daytime, "daytime fishing" and go out and have fun a when she have time, since they often are occupied with work and studies, duties and babies 24/7. You pay for for everything, but the sex itself should not be more than 300 mil for TLN, if you have given her a an event and romantic dinner afterwards.

Yes, their time horizon is now + 1 day max, but they are jerk of material, so stalling them, just make her think you talk bullshit to get pics and movies send - until you cum...and hang up on her. The girls from the internet pages, or from CC / Latineuro, are doing it just to pay the bills, so if you are staying a longer period, make a deal with some of them, or a few.

If you invite young barrio girls they are often high, since they are nervous, and they steal and quarrel. Not fun to have to argue price and get them out; it's not a crime but people will talk. And font pay for txi. They always trick you . Saying they live far away and to charge you 25-40 mil. She will have to take the Cable Metro + uber/taxi, only when close, for the last 10 mil. They can say "I come", but bring a friend, and then you should show the door directly, just pay for their travel expenses and a little show up tip, and then say goodbye, since the risk for theft, drugging you is very high. You can also ask her to take a photo of her cedula and send it via celular or email. The supply of girls on any range of the scale are 10 times higher than the supply.

Colombians are open for sex with friends, collegue, after the disco- in a totally different way that Western people do. And they just do it for fun, no money involved. Getting payed or suggesting can be highly offensive, even is she is poor and only have like 3000 pesos in her pocket. Thats the passion in Colombia and Brazil, /when you can go there in the future Venezuela/ and Dominican Republic. Jamaica is said to be a haven for just quick sex. Western Europe and North America, Japan are Sexprisons! In fact researchers says its both genes and culture. In Sexprison, but the way , the amount of sperms in a Sexprison-guy, has fallen with 59.2% since 1973, while South America and Africa and Asia where unaffected.

Girls from internet pages can take time of and you can make a deal with her. Many of the cheap casa girls and high end girls time is slow, most days maybe 1-2 clients or zero, and they stay at the place 8-14 hours or even live there.

What is SA?

Dear all,

Although I am a member for several years, I took notice of the price thread today only.

http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?1083-Prices

The forum is full of posts complaining about increasing prices and guys asking for price information in paticular threads.

The price thread being a general one could be a very useful tool for all of us, so I would like to encourage my fellow mongers to put some recent info there. IMO it could be done in a brief way (widely practiced already) mentioning:

Country.

City.

Type of establishment.

ST / LT.

Looks of the lady X /10.

Performance X /10.

Price.

Link to your post.

Sorry for cross posting, happy mongering!

Cartman here, you may remember me from my various posts on the Brazil boards, occasional BKK boards, and such informative films as "Smoke Yourself Thin!" and "Get Confident, Stupid!"

Anyway, from my home base here in Rio, watching Narcos on Netflix has left me musing about Colombian women. Wondered if any experienced hand could take a stab at pro / cons for me, with repect to what I know and love here in Brazil. Been living here for more than 5 years. Speak fluent Portuguese. Speak little Spanish but generally can read it, since I'm fluent in PT.

Debating whether it would be worth my while to fly to Bogota or MDE to see what it's all about -- been trying to RTTF but it's not easy to catch up, and lots of catch-phrases are thrown around without beginner-level explanations (e. g. , "The Mansion"). If someone has impressions to share, I'd appreciate it. Particularly whether you think it's worth a trip (6-8+ hours by plane, depending on city -- eg GIG-BOG-MDE) from BR to explore. I always weigh it against just going to spend a week in SP or getting out and about more in Rio. Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

I am happy to answer questions about BR, particularly Rio and SP. Thanks in advance for your patience and non-flames LOL.

I mongered in So Paulo and mongered in Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena. Bogota had more of a Sao Paulo feel but you won't find any nightclubs like you do in Sao Paulo. For example a place like Casaro does not exist in Colombia. Colombia is much cheaper. Especially if you hit Santa Fe in Bogoto or the brothels in Medellin centro. Cartagena is more expensive but you can still find cheap sex if you look enough.

The biggest difference is that in Brazil I never found bareback and never needed it. Brazilian working girls are great in bed compared to the average Colombian. Best ass in the world!

In Colombia you will find a mix of amateurs and surgically altered dolls. By far the easiest pussy is in Medellin. It's everywhere. It's cheap (unless you really want to throw money around) and it's endless.

Is it better to make reservations for flights within Colombia before I get there or to wait until I am there? Is it possible to get desirable seats 2 or 3 days before the flight or is more lead time needed? (I am talking about flights between Cartagena, Medellíand, and Bogotá.).

Has anyone here ever arranged and paid for a ticket (within Colombia) for a chica such that she could not cash it in or change it?

Thanks, Bob.

Thanks, Bob.Are all of your dates set in stone, no possibility of changes? If so, make them in advance. It's cheaper (usually) to book in advance. If your flights are around holiday or other busy travel times, you may be stuck on a more expensive flight if you don't book early.

However, if your plans may change, if you don't mind paying a little more and accept getting stuck on a much later flight, wait until you're in country and certain.

The flights are less than 1 hour. You should be able to sit on a milk crate for at least that long. How would they be able to change or cash in a ticket? Unless you are buying the most expensive one then it will not be refundable anyway. If it was refunded, it would go back to the same credit card it was bought with. If I couldn't trust someone with a ticket I do not think I would be able to trust them concerning anything else.

True that!Cartagena isn't more expensive by much. You'd be paying between 150 k to 300 k for clocktower hookers. In fact the usual amount is 150 k but they will try for 200 k if you're a gringo. That's for short time. Prepagos in Medellin are also between 150 k to 200 k. Apartments can be gotten cheap. I pay around $60 for an clean luxury apartment in Bocagrande facing the beach with a nice balcony. Anywhere from 60 to 80 USD a night. You just need to shop around.

As for prices in general you spend what you want. There's no reason to dine in upscale places in old centro. Many local chicas are happy to eat at McDonalds or the more local restaurants. That's a peculiarity in Cartagena. Chicas never seem to want to eat at expensive places. In Medellin I found most prepagos try to steer you to more upscale restaurants.

Of course, Medellin is dirt cheap in general but it's more spread out and less convenient. In Cartagena it's about 15-20 minutes from airport to apartment in Bocagrande. It's actually a great place to visit your first time in Colombia.

150 k and up vs 150 or less, with plenty of 50 k or less options. $60-$80 per night compared to $25-$40 per night. What's a cheap meal in Cartagena? In El Centro it's 6000-8000 pesos. For looking for cheap pussy, Cartagena is bottom of the list in Colombia.

However, for a person looking for a beach, with plenty of available women, who is more interested in a particular experience, Cartagena is at the top.

Hi,

Few of us guys are wanting to do the South Americas for a trip- It will be 3 or 4 guys and want to make the most of the time we have.

We have narrowed it down to the following areas.

Columbia, Bogoto or Meddlin.

Havana, Cuba.

Panama City.

If possible we wanted to do 5/4/4 days in each. In terms of that region would anyone have an opinion good or bad for the above places to go?

In terms of Columbia. What would be better. Bogota or Med?

We are just looking for a fun time, party, girls, drink and activity if need be.

Any steer would be helpful.

Hi,
In terms of Columbia. What would be better. Bogota or Med?Well I pick Medellin over Bogota due to altitude, Bogota is almost 10,000 ft, too high for a sea level dweller like me, Medellin is around 5,000 ft. Med gets cool, Bogota gets cold.

Also Bogota is 8 million people, too big for me, Med is 2.4 million.

Between Casa's, strip clubs, online girls and street girls there are probably 500+ easily available every day. Don't go on big Catholic holidays, see: http://www.officeholidays.com/countries/colombia/index.php for list of holidays.

Usually the cheapest way to get there from the US is find the cheapest flight to Miami and take a VivaColombia flight to Colombia from there. Spirit also has cheap horrible flights.

With all due respect, read through bud: I haven't decided solely on Cartagena. I'm asking for an opinion.

I'm Venezuelan, trust me, I know how bad it is and for how long. I'm cancelling Venezuela because there's no way cheap pussy can justify risking your life and the situation had deteriorated in the last 4 months (that I've been planning on going). Besides, the USA-CCs ticket prices are ridiculous. I've paid less from Australia to USA.

Well, it's a Colombia cedula. Cedula Extranjero (Foreigner ID) to be specific. It's basically an ID version of my 1 year temporary Visa. So, I don't need to carry around my passport (which has the admission stamp to show that you are legal in the country) like you are supposed to as a tourist. It is a bit different from the Colombian citizens' cedula, but, it can be used for many of the same purposes- opening a bank account, setting up utilities, etc etc. You don't need one, but for someone intending to set up shop semi-permanently to permanently, it makes all the details a bit easier it seems. Are you aware of the taxes you may have to pay in Colombia? I don't know if they have any deductions or exemptions, but it doesn't take long to reach the 28% tax bracket which I calculate to be around $18000 USD. Social Security income might even be taxable.

See Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxation_in_Colombia.

The US & Colombia have now signed an agreement to share information to catch tax evaders.

Update edit: This link shows the taxation of all countries. Colombian taxes all income for residents. Interestingly, it looks like Central American countries only tax local income, but South American countries tax worldwide income. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_taxation

For example, I own foreign stocks. I am able to deduct foreign taxes on foreign dividends for the stocks that are not in a retirement account.

Another point. If you are from a state with a high income tax like California you would no longer have to pay those taxes if you establish residency in Colombia.

Another point. If you are from a state with a high income tax like California you would no longer have to pay those taxes if you establish residency in Colombia. My job is lowering my customers' taxes. For someone like me, who is able to legally game the system, two separate systems of taxation makes coming up with a low tax plan very difficult, if not impossible. You would not have double taxation, but you would end up paying the higher of the two taxes. In addition, it looked like Colombia has an asset tax too. If I decide on Colombia for a permanent move, I will look into the issue more.

You can avoid California taxes simply by establishing residence in a state without income taxes like Nevada, Texas, Florida, etc. Then, no matter where you live in the world, you won't have US state taxation. None of my clients have permanently moved out of the US, so I would defer to someone else on whether showing a residence outside of the US would avoid state taxation. Keep in mind that Colombia has a 19%VAT. That VAT may equal your combined rate of CA income and sales taxes.

A word to the wise on California and most states. Be sure to show you are moving out of state on the last CA return that you file. Otherwise, CA will assume that you are just temporarily living outside the state and will tax you on your income. For example, I had a client move back to my state after three years of living in Texas. My state tried to tax him on those three years living in Texas. The state's position was that my client's failure to get a Texas driver license showed his intent to return to our state. We won, but not without a fight. When the state coffers get low, the state agents often ignore the law to make findings that increase citizen taxes.

None of my clients have permanently moved out of the US, so I would defer to someone else on whether showing a residence outside of the US would avoid state taxation. The answer is NO. The relevant concept is 'nexus. ' Every US citizen is a resident of one of the 55 states, territories, or DC. So anyone moving out of the US would continue to be a resident of the last one of these 55 districts in which they lived, unless they break their 'nexus' or connections to the former state. I did the following things when I arrived in No Tax State. I rented a hotel for 28 consecutive days to meet the residency requirement for a driver's license (cheapest way to do it is a campground). I then registered my motorcycle in that state, registered to vote, got a library card, got health insurance, and wrote out a new will. Then I left!

States vary greatly as to the extent they will try to come after you, but CA will, for sure. Residency is based on 'all facts and circumstances' but the absolute #1 thing they will look at is voter registration.

Thanks DH. I figured you would know the answer. I was thinking you would have to be a resident of some state / territory, but I hadn't looked at the issue and didn't want to give advise based upon an assumption. States are sharing more information now. One of my clients had his local driver's license suspended because of a DUI from 40 years ago. He doesn't remember even being in that state. They have no record of the arrest, just a notation somewhere with his name and driver's license number. No chance to fight the charge and he is having to go to AA meetings and undergo drug testing. Why did this issue come up after 40 years? The DUI state updated their database and the information was shared with our state. Big Brother is alive and well in the USA.

Hey guys,

I've been hanging out in Pattaya for the past 4 years and I'm looking for a change. I'm traveling to Medellin for the first time from Nov. 28th to Dec. 5th. Short trip to just see what it's like. My Spanish is not good at all but hell my Thai wasn't either but its good now. I have some questions that I was hoping to get answered.

Airbnb or hotel (that don't mind Chicas and any recommendations please).

Best area to stay in that's close to the action.

Best place to get pesos with the best exchange rate.

Will my phone work there? US ATT. If not what would you suggest.

Gringo hangouts? Looking to possibly meet some people and maybe tag along a little. Bar crawls?

I have more questions but I can research them. Don't want to bore you guys to much LOL. Thanks in advance for any help and Pm me if your going to be in Medellin on those dates. I'll buy ya beer. I'm super chill and just looking to meet some good people and have fun.

Today is election day to select the Liberal Party candidate for next year's presidential election. No alcohol can be sold between 6 am Sunday and 6 am Monday. The polls closed at 4 pm Sunday. The reason behind the ban on sales is to keep elections orderly. Sort of weird why sales would be banned for 14 after after voting stopped in order to keep the election orderly.

The pharmacy on the corner of calle 10 and cra 40 near Parque Lleras, across from Mondongos restaurant, has always been a good place to buy generic sildenafil. On Tuesday's and Thursday's, they have 10% discount on everything. Today I found out they have an even more discount if I buy five boxes, but it is only on five or multiples of five. I bought 8 boxes today (4 50 MG each box). Five boxes were 4,873.32 each, and three boxes were 5,917.60 each. In the past, I usually bought four boxes. The woman pharmacist never told me about the discount for buying five. So I have paid more for four boxes than what I could have paid for five boxes. I always buy the Genfar brand.

Is it less expensive to buy the cell phone once I get to Colombia or buy in the US? I will be staying for almost 2 months. I don't need a super fancy phone, google maps, whatsapps, Uber and a few other apps.

Bob, just highlight the website address by holding down the space bar and dragging the cursor from the beginning to the end, hold down Control key and see at the same time, then, wherever you want to put the link, hold down Control key and V at the same time.

Control + c at the same time is 'copy' and Control + V at the same time is 'paste. '.

And to Chesscat, Bob is a very good guy and some of us are really, really old. Like me! And every time I want to take a screen shot I have to google how to do it again. If you are fortunate, you may get to the point where you don't know or can't remember some things too.

On the front end put url between brackets and on the back end put /url between brackets.Thank you Mr. E. That's what I was looking for. But apparently it's not (or no longer) necessary. At least so long as it has the format of a complete URL. I haven't experimented with whatever.com and www.whatever.com. But I guess UPLOADing this report will answer that question.

Well, the point was, none of them were putas. But good to get feedback from you, always appreciated your reports. Peace out.

Chico.

How is it disrespecting a hooker by asking if she is a hooker? She already knows she is a hooker. Why is it best if the guy is kept in the dark about it? Better for both parties to know up front. The disrespect would come after when she expects money and the guy that fucked her says what do you mean money? I do not have any money. I did not know you were a hooker. I just thought you were a normal chick out for fun.

Hello all,

I've no idea if this is in the right place or you get this all the time but eff it.

I'm a guy from the UK, totally inexperienced when it comes to seeking out paid sex. I've been travelling for a while and I'm up for experiencing some stuff. But the idea of entering that kind of world without knowledge to me, I feel like my naivete will be exploited.

If anyone wants to help a brother out, show a brother round medellin and give tips face to face, hit me up, it'd be truly appreciated.

Peace. At least you're approaching this in the right way, by asking for advice. I'll be happy to help you, just let me know when you're in Medellin.

My introduction to this world was a major shock. I was an 18 year-old drunk sailor that got jumped on by probably the worst hooker in St. Thomas Virgin Islands and I was in no condition to say no.

The first step is to learn the territory. What are the rates? What service is included and what is extra? What to be wary of?

First, things to avoid:

Say no to any trios or overnight stays. Trios are rarely worth the price and are also a good way to get robbed, especially if alcohol is involved. You're also likely to be nervous and that just adds to the nervousness. Overnight stays are for known girls, who have proven their worth. You don't want to spend the money to keep someone you aren't happy with.

Avoid any local wanting to help get you a girl. Too much risk when girls are easy to find. Avoid excessive alcohol or drug use. Colombia can be a dangerous place. Also avoid anyone who is giving prices in dollars.

Included services vary, but almost always include sex in multiple positions and oral sex. Some positions may not be allowed and there may be an extra charge for oral without a condom (BBBJ), I've never paid it. Oral sex on the girl (DATY) may or may not be included. Kissing is also on the maybe list. Anal or sex without a condom (BBFS) is usually an extra charge and not always available.

Current rates:

25 - 40 k for street walkers.

40 - 70 k for casa girls.

100 - 150 k for spa girls.

150 - 200 k for Facebook or freelance girls.

150 k and up for Tinder, Seeking Arrangements or other website girls.

El Centro strip clubs about 80 k.

Fase II 180 k.

La Isla 300 k and up.

Street walkers are usually a short session, 15 - 30 minutes. Casa girls are typically 30 minutes. More time is available for more money. The exception is Lindas Chicas, where the house charges 100 k for the room, plus any drinks and the girls usually charge 100 k for one hour. Spa rates are for one hour. The rest are a minimum of 1 hour. Personally, I avoid any girl from Facebook who is negotiating for 1 hour. I usually spend about 2 hours for the same price.

How to approach depends on your situation and on your level of Spanish. Basic small talk is all you need to start. Hello. How are you? After that, you might need a translator.

Other advice for Medellin. Leave your jewelry at home. Carry only what you need; phone, room key, ID (copy of Passport main page and entry stamp), cash (for most purposes, 300 k is enough). If you use them, Cialis or Viagra and a condom if you're going to casas or strip clubs. Except to withdraw cash, leave your cards locked up.

There's plenty of other advice on the forum. If you're really stuck, just ask.

When I was in Medellin in November, I used Uber a few times. It was hit or miss because I never knew where the car was located. Even though I put in the exact address, I am not sure that info was transmitted to the driver. Sometimes the car would be a half block away from the address. A couple of times, the app showed the car on the street, but I couldn't fine it. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you find the car on a busy street?

The locator and the addresses can be off by quite a ways on the Uber app. Move your pin to your real location. And take notice of the license plate of your Uber.

Uber has been having off and on GPS problems in Colombia. Besides what you mentioned, sometimes drivers have been unable to start or end trips, causing delays in pickups. I had a couple of trips that never got charged to my account. A way to avoid pickup delays and the driver not finding you is to send the driver a text message or call him. You can only use the phone number registered to your account to do this. It works well.

Met a girl off Tinder in Medellin, we texted for awhile, agreed on sex / money. She shows up, looked little young, I asked for Cedula (I always do if I am in doubt) and she said she's 18 and 6 months, but she showed me plastic sealed ID with picture on the other side. I googled it later and it's a Contrasena ID until she gets a Cedula, which said would take a few months. Need advice please, because I liked her, if anyone had been in a similar situation. Her facebook also shows her age over 18.

Even though they are told it takes three months to receive the cedula, it will probably be received in about a month and a half. I am providing some support for two young sisters there. Age of Consent vs Age of Majority

=============================================

Greetings Gentlemen,

The Age of Consent is the age in which girls can participate in consensual, non-commercial sex with their teen-age boyfriend without said teen-age boyfriend being charged with statutory [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123).

However, the Age of Consent is irrelevant to the members of this forum.

What you need to focus on is the Age of Majority, which among other things is the age in which they can vote, get married, enlist in the military, and participate in commercial sex activities.

Please exercise caution and govern yourself accordingly.

JacksonActually, what is important for US citizens is the doctrine of extraterritoriality and for US citizens that doctrine draws the line at 18. Ignorance is no defense. You can bribe your way out of what YK describes as the 'fuck me in the ass colombian prisons,' but you cannot typically bribe your way out of the doctrine of extraterritoriality. The age of majority is 18 in Colombia.

There is a lot of misinformation being thrown around about those two conditions. In the US, there is no relationship between age of consent and age of majority, other than both are set by individual states, not the federal government. Age of consent varies between 16 and 18. That is the age someone can legally consent to have sex with another person (in some states, a person of the opposite sex). Difference in age has no bearing. The difference in age comes into effect when one party is under the age of consent. Age of majority varies between 18 and 21. That is the age someone is legally responsible for their actions. Also, it is when they can enter into contracts.

Under the PROTECT Act of April 2003 (a federal law), it is a crime, prosecutable in the United States, for a US citizen or permanent resident alien to engage in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign country with a person under the age of 18, no exceptions.

I don't know what Dickhead is talking about when he mentions extraterritoriality. That is when someone is granted immunity from the jurisdiction of a nation, usually foreign diplomats. Probably none of us fall under that category.

In Colombia, the age of consent is 14, BUT sexual consent is valid only as long as no violence, prostitution, pornography or exploitation occurs. I don't think any of us can convince the Colombia authorities that we are in the category where none of those things happen. Also, we are subject to the PROTECT Act, so under 18 is a no-no. I don't think Colombia has an "age of majority" as defined in the US, because someone as young as 14 can be held legally responsible for criminal behavior. The minimum age to engage in prostitution or pornography in Colombia is 18.

Hoping this right place to post. I want to be like energizer bunny in Medellin. Is there anything I can buy there to assist in performance?

The Protect Act is an example of extraterritorial jurisdiction: a country (the US) applying its own laws outside of its physical boundaries or normal jurisdiction. Several US states' consent laws consider the difference in the ages of the two parties, either making legal what would otherwise be illegal or reducing the level of the crime and/or penalty. Increasingly in the US, people under the age of majority are being tried as adults. And in one state, CT, last I heard, 17 was the age at which people are routinely considered adults in criminal matters. They raised that from 16 just a few years ago.

JjBee62

Also "Kids are a non issue for me." Are women in Medellin open to CIP, or am I better of in another part of Colombia?Kids are a non-issue for you because you have had a vasectomy, or because you just don't care? It's a rather important distinction, that you didn't make clear.

Generally speaking, the women in Colombia are not comfortable with BBFS with CIP, from a complete unknown, first time visitor who wants to be like the Energizer Bunny. Whether or not you've had a vasectomy isn't the issue, because none of them have any reason to trust your word. Most of them don't want another kid, especially not from someone they will never see again.

You're going to need everything they sell to help you out, because your plan is guaranteed to hit a major snag from the start. Your insistence on no condom and CIP is going to start a 30 minute (60 if you don't speak good Spanish) discussion, debate and negotiation. That's assuming she'll consider your offer. Before you get started you're going to discover the price just doubled and you've wasted most of your time. Of course the whole thing is likely to spoil her mood, so you're up for a lot of complaints.

You probably should just bypass Colombia and keep going and going.

As to CIP that will depend on the individual girl and the amount offered. But I imagine the lower you look the easier it will be, the lowest rung being the glue huffers, of which you might find a cute one. Hi,

I have been to San Jose in CR at least 14 times.

My Spanish is decent enough to talk sex, directions, numbers general family info names food etc.

Now I want to go to MDE, and I want the best place to stay to have fun and not get bored for 8 days.

I know people recommend Hotel M, but it seems I would be stuck in a compound almost.

I am trying to talk my friend to go tot MDE also, he loves CR because he can communicate in English to lots of girls.

Besides pricing being better, can someone.

1. Recommend a good place to stay near action, besides massage parlors we would like to have chicas come to our room and party.

2. Thus we would like a 2 bedroom that allows chicas.

3. Do at least some of the girls speak English?

4. Any other tips appreciated on where to go to a place like the Del Rey, unfortunately it sounded like Hotel M was the only place but traffic seems low.

Thanks so much in advance.

I think most foreigners get an airbnb condo in Poblado or Laureles and get chicks that they find online to come over. If so, how do you find the car on a busy street?I used Uber quite often when I'm too lazy to call eazy taxi or just want to pay it via on my CC. Yes, I too experienced this. So after getting a confirmation, I contact the driver via text and send them exact address. This helps alot. I think Uber is using google which brings them to the general area.

And if you are able to predict the price of oil and exchange rates, you should apply your cleverness and invest in commodities and forex. With your huge profits you will then be able to pay for your time in Colombia at any exchange rate.

I have verified Bancolombia now charges an ATM fee. It is 12,000 for withdrawing 600,000. Davivienda is not charging a fee at this time. I haven't checked BBVA. I think all the other banks charge a fee. I have the Schwab card, so I will get the fee back, but I don't like the charges.

Here's some news for the amateur economists here: The COP is stable at 3500 to the EUR. Looked at this way, it's the USD that's weak.

And if you are able to predict the price of oil and exchange rates, you should apply your cleverness and invest in commodities and forex. With your huge profits you will then be able to pay for your time in Colombia at any exchange rate. Thanks for bringing the Euro to my attention. I have had a projection for a multi-year top on the Euro in the 125-126 area and it got that high earlier this month. I would like the Euro to bounce back to that area before buying EUO.

Buying and selling currencies is not investing. It is speculating. I am not saying there is anything wrong with doing it, but the stock market has an upward bias. Bonds have risk premiums. Raw land has scarcity in absolute terms and residential / commercial real estate has scarcity in the short run. Trading currencies, not so much. For every winner, there is an equal and opposite loser, as with any futures trading. So, the long-term winners tend to be the brokers and the exchanges. And if you hold physical currencies and not futures or forward contracts, you have risk of theft or cost to insure, and so forth.

Opinions needed. A group of guys (8) from LOS Angeles are headed to Columbia in May. We are 50 years old and looking for outdoor fun (ATV, hiking, zip line etc) and in the evenings, great restaurants to eat, then of course clubbing and action (from ladies). We will be there Wednesday night to Tuesday night. Which location is best for all of this Medellin or Bogota. Much appreciated. Here's what makes up my mind:

Bogota, alt near 10,000 ft-too high for strenuous activities for a sea level dweller like me. Also means can get cold. Pop. 8 million=too big for me.

Medellin: 5,000 ft-weather warm to cool. Pop. 2. 4 million. Also demographically 114 women per 100 men.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medell%C3%ADn#Demographics.

Both have touristy activities and lots of women.

Buying and selling currencies is not investing. It is speculating.Dickhead is absolutely right, but off topic. What I was trying to say with subtle irony is that it's pointless to argue macroeconomics in this forum. Too subtle, I guess, and it backfired.

Said straight: For the purposes of the topic of this forum it's enough to know what the current exchange rate is. If you think you can predict what it will be in the future, you're fooling yourself, or others, or both. If you enjoy gambling on financial markets, fine, but don't talk about it here except if you then went and spent your money in Colombia.

Boricauaonline says Bancolombia charges 12,000 for withdrawal using foreign card. Not so! The machine receipt says there is a charge. But there isn't. I made 3 withdrawals this morning. I asked for 600,000 pesos. Received 600,000 pesos. 3 times. The receipt said charge. Bad info.

Really, not only no charge but Bancolombia pays out the best payout. Usually the retail rate. Few things around here are win win win!

They had been doing it for some time, probably with billions in profits. The fine was something like $100 million. I'm sure a 1% fine scared them away from trying that again. Wink wink, nudge, nudge.

I was charged 12,000 too, not good.Bancolombia and Servibanca have a 12 k service charge. I believe Citibank is 15 k. Davivienda has no fee and some of their atms, depending on your bank, allow up to 2 million cop per withdrawal.

Banco Pichincha (I think there are only 3 in Medellin) has no fee, allows up to 1 million per withdrawal and you can make multiple withdrawals without starting over. Just enter your pin each time. Doesn't work with all cards.

However, I personally can predict with absolute certainty what currency exchange rates will do in the future.

They will fluctuate.

Oil is starting to correct and that should improve the COP / USD rate. Weak oil seems to lead to a weak COP. I am watching copper. If it breaks down, the commodity sector usually follows. In the post Bretton Woods-era, an increase in the price of oil has a tendency to put pressure on the USD, and vice-vers. Higher interest rates (which are headed our way) put pressure on commodities (including oil) and traditionally it strengthened a currency if interest rates significantly exceeded the rate of inflation (for obvious mathematical reasons). Though none of that is written in stone. You strategy of watching the price of "King Copper", while speculative, is interesting, and I'll keep an eye on it, as well.

Of course, we still have to consider what happen politically and economically on the Colombian side as well. That's just the other side of the equation. Oil has been Colombia's primary export, but the amount it exported was minor compared to Venezuela. In hindsight, Colombia is fortunate not to have the petroleum reserves that their neighbor to the east has. Colombia might not have gotten wealthy off of petroleum exports, nor are they starving when the world decided it doesn't need oil near as much as it needs cell phones.

Based on the amount discounted to my bank statement and current exchange rate I should have received 612,000. I received 600,000. I retired 200,000 pesos on the airport yesterday and again, based on the amount discounted and current exchange rate I should have received 212,000 pesos so the fee is 12k regardless of retirement amount.

It's always going to be off by a bit. I remember a while back someone mentioning that BanColombia doesn't tell you about the charge but there's a charge in there. Maybe what's happened is they have just started posting the 12 k charge on the receipt. In the past the receipt amount appeared mostly correct to me since the conversion was close enough to market rate.

You are correct about your report data, I am going to tell you how I know they charged me the 12,000 pesos fee.

The market rate was 2815.5 according to my conversion application. I was charged $217.37 for a 600,000 withdrawal and $75.29 for a $200,000 pesos withdrawal. Multiply $217.37 by 2815.5 and you get 612,005. Multiply $75.29 x 2815.5 and you get 211,979 which is around 12,000 pesos in both instances. That is how I know why I have been charged 612,000 pesos instead of 600,000 and 212,000 pesos instead of 200,000. Have a nice day.

Really, not only no charge but Bancolombia pays out the best payout. Usually the retail rate. Few things around here are win win win!For almost two years now, I have used Bancolombia ATM's. The exchange rate I have received is very close to the previous day's rate on xe.com. Yesterday, I received 2843.69/$1 at Davivienda, and I received 2787.84/$1 at Bancolombia. I don't remember the exchange rate on xe.com on Tuesday, but I think it was close to 2846.

I determined the rate I received by looking at the actual dollars taken out of my account. If Bancolombia shows a 12,000 fee in the tranaction with Schwab, then Schwab will refund that fee to me. That will make the Bancolombia rate almost the same as Davivienda. For now, I will walk the extra eight blocks to use Davivienda.

Blew over 100 billion dollars with giveaways to buy votes, should have diversified their economy instead and put some into infrastructure and keeping their oil fields running. (oil output has dropped by almost 1/2).

Add no floating currency, insane 3 level currency exchange, price controls on food during hyper inflation due to over printing money, giving away gas at $.37 a gal, running off foreign investment and oil expertise with seizures and non-payment and what you get is what they got.

The only way to confirm what I said is this.

Withdraw 600,000 pesos. Confirm the number you actually receive from the machine. Go home. Look at your bank statement online. You will see a dollar debit to your account. And you will NOT see any other ATM charges from Colombia. Divide the 600,000 by that debit amount on your bank statement. The result is your NET conversion rate which should be very close to the X-rates. If you are a Schwab customer or have one of the good TDBANK accounts you will NOT be getting a rebate at the end of the month because there was no charge in the first place. Pura Vida.
