If you are looking for retiring in Colombia, you should head to Colombia expat forums. There are a few good ones specific to Colombia that can give you real advice.

If you are looking at Zona T as an area to live in or pursue the hobby. Well, the answer to both of those are no in my opinion. In my opinion there are much better areas of Bogota to live, and also much better areas to play. Zona T (T is for Tolerencia) is an area with a few higher end malls, a lot of restaurants, and bars. Few residential buildings in Zona T proper, but the adjacent neighborhoods are much nicer. And there are a few areas to play (casas, masaje) in the Zona, you're much better off elsewhere unless you plan on only domicilio.

Finally posting a much overdue trip report. I visited in early September and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Hotels:

Tequendama Suites. Hotel is definitely a bit dated, but the views are great and the rooms are huge. Opening a window to cool the place down brought in plenty of traffic noise but I don't mind a sense of place. It's definitely girl friendly, but I didn't push it with Santa Fe girls or PP girls. One trick I learned is using the Casino Aladdin as an Uber dropoff point puts you right by the front door and in sight of the hotel security guys.

GHL Hamilton. Probably not girl friendly, but begrudgingly let me bring in a chica. One elevator per tower makes it slow to get in and out, and it's small enough that you'll probably get to know everyone there. That may or may not be your style.

Some misc thoughts:

- LaCelestina is highly reliable, but just message them and tell them what you want and get some photos. Don't try to pick from the site- those girls don't match to the names they show available and it's impossible to sort through it.

Santa Fe strip clubs are pretty cool and there's definitely good selection there, but those are some hardened pros in there.

Santa Fe itself is less scary than I some posts made it out to be. Having Woodman alongside is was huge though. It would be fun to check out in the day on another visit.

Also on the practical side and regularly used are a robot vacuum and if in Bogota, I would buy a space heater. On the higher end, I hated my gal's bed and bought a $300 memory foam mattress off of Amazon that was like $500 after delivery and taxes for our place. What is truly fucked up is I have not seen an actual real leather sofa or recliner in Colombia despite all their fucking cows. I am sure you do not want to spend that much but I really miss my leather furniture when in Colombia.

On the food side, root beer is not seen, and smores type sweets are not seen very often. The Colombians I gave those flavors to loved them.

I am guessing these bed brands are sold in El Salvador and not Colombia because of tariffs. As they live in Cartagena, we did buy those cooling fiber pillows which they use to this day. I have not seen those for sale in Colombia either.

It was four seasons quality at $70 a night. They had a thermostat in the room, a rarity in Bogota hotels, great beds, and I woke up congestion free.

We had been to Andres near the Andino mall, and the food was great, but it took them like 4 hours to serve us. My gal swore the Andres in Chia was better, and I loved that place. They served us in under an hour and had a bigger and always full dance floor. The street that Andres was on is I guess some kind of party type street, so there are similar places to try in the future I guess.

Unless I am having to stay close to the airport, the Sabana Park is my new go to hotel in Bogota.

Pay attention to the hours and time limits per stay. Generally the advice is to lower your risks on the day of your flight.

I've only done the avianca lounge in the international terminal and if I remember correctly it closes sometime around midnight and reopens at 4 or 5 am. Guessing you'll be using the domestic lounge though but you should check hours. Personally as hard as I try I can never sleep in airports. Chairs are uncomfortable and just generally too much stuff going on.

Friday night will be busy and is a good night for girls at any one of the clubs in SF. Troya and Fiebre probably being the main ones but the clubs are all next door to each other so easy to just grab a beer at each one and enjoy looking until you pick a girl. Personally I would just book a room at the ibis Bogota museo. Kind of dependent upon what time you arrive and leave but if you don't have any bags with you or they're being checked through to your final destination you could just catch a cab into SF to Troya or Fiebre from the airport (though you may get an odd look from the taxi desk people LOL) , bang a girl upstairs then catch a taxi outside the club to the Ibis museo, have a few hours sleep and pre book a taxi with the hotel to take you back to the airport. It's roughly a 30 minute drive to and from the airport and if you're leaving very early it may even be quicker. Santa Fe clubs and the Ibis are so close to each other that the cab ride is only 5 minutes roughly so alternatively you could go from airport to ibis if you have any bags to take them to your room then order a didi to Troya / Fiebre, bang a girl and be back with enough time to get a few hours sleep.

I'm guessing you could also do the short time hotels if they allow you to stay for that length of time but to be honest the area will be loud with noise and the convenience of getting a taxi from a short time hotel back to the airport in the very early morning after a sleep may be more of a hassle than it's worth. Some people not used to it describe Santa Fe as being sketchy. It can be but I'm guessing once the clubs close and the majority of people go home it's probably not the most appealing areas for a rideshare cab driver to want to pick up from if you're leaving at 5 or 6 am or something.

Personally I would just book a room at the ibis Bogota museo. Kind of dependent upon what time you arrive and leave .I would second this. I usually book a day or two at BOG before going to SMR, as the latter is a well that has been going dry, and the bottled water is getting more expensive every time.

Last trip I booked a BNB in Teusaquilo; they kept my bag for free when I went to the beach. It's only one TM stop from Santa Fe.

Long time follower of the forum first time posting.

So I decided to take a three day trip to Bogota for a little fun and relaxation. I stayed at hotel Virrey Central which was nice. It is not a fancy hotel but for anyone looking for hostel prices but in a hotel I would recommend it. You can have guests but you have to pay 60000 pesos per guest. There is also a restaurant in the hotel which is convenient. The area is also pretty safe. I had no issues.

Now to the action, first night I decided to take the woodman tour. It was great we walked around all over the bar and club areas. Got to see the many chicas in the casas. A lot of Venezuelans but definitely some variety. Prices on average was 60-70 thousand pesos for 15 min. I ended up at this one casa with 2 Venezuelan chicas one was named Brenda and the other one was not memorable. But overall it was a good experience. Fast forward we go to paisas which was good. Got a lap dance and decided to go check out another strip club I forgot the name of this place but I ended talking to this other chica and making plans to meet her later that night at my hotel. After leaving the strip club we ended up at another strip club where this taller chica caught my eye after talking settled on a price 70 thousand for 15 min. After that we left. After the tour was over I went back to my hotel and called that chica from earlier and she came over for 2 hours 250000. Overall the woodmen tour is great he knows the area and the people there know him well. If you are going to Bogota you should definitely check him out.

2nd and 3rd day was not filled with too much action due to me filling my itinerary with a lot to do for 3 days but I plan on going back soon to stay for a week. This time I plan on going to tantra spa amongst other places. I will update when I go back.

Hi guys, I'm no stranger to the casas in Chapinero and have several years experience of visiting them. I've done it solo and have banged many a hot Rola and Vennie.

I'll be in Bogota for a while and if anyone wants to visit casas with me, just PM me. My normal routine is to visit a couple of casas a day in the morning and sample a girl in each.

I normally monger 5 days a week. After some time, I have a list of girls who give good service and they become my regulars, or if they are really good.

They are still out there as far as I can tell but yes there's not much mentioned of them now in this forum apart from Tantras, probably for good reason as the price there is reasonable (50 or 80 k for basic can't remember exact and 150 k for most everything which is what I did) there were always between 8-12 girls there each time I visited and ran the range from slim and petite to thicker if you like that. There is another website that has some better reviews of the independent girls and some of the spas. Foroprepagos Colombia. Remove the space and add. Com at the end. I got lost in all the reviews and whatsapped a place called Black Diamond Scorts who sent me 2 girls that looked quite cute with 1 particularly looking nice with prices of 150 k for 30 minutes and oral natural for an additional 70 k. A bit more than SF but if the girl is true to the photos it may be worthwhile but again I'm always wary of these places so I may visit when there just to take one for the team if it doesn't work out. Considering though I can do the same at Tantras or just pick a girl down in SF for less it does make it hard to justify but since I'm not there for a few more weeks I didn't want to message them too much until I'm actually there.

Another spa that looked okay but I don't read too much about it is Lux Spa. The model Sara is the body type right up my alley but again I didn't want to reach out to find out prices until I'm there. I have a feeling it's probably going to be at a premium.

Hi guys, I'm no stranger to the casas in Chapinero and have several years experience of visiting them. I've done it solo and have banged many a hot Rola and Vennie.

I'll be in Bogota for a while and if anyone wants to visit casas with me, just PM me. My normal routine is to visit a couple of casas a day in the morning and sample a girl in each.

They are still out there as far as I can tell but yes there's not much mentioned of them now in this forum apart from Tantras, probably for good reason as the price there is reasonable (50 or 80 k for basic can't remember exact and 150 k for most everything which is what I did) there were always between 8-12 girls there each time I visited and ran the range from slim and petite to thicker if you like that. My first time in Bogota was just for a long layover. My flight got in at 8:30 last Friday, and I had a flight out to Santa Marta the next morning at 5 am. But that's just my 2 cents and honestly not really looking to start an argument. As with all large cities, even more so in a country that the socio economic divide is extreme, safety should never be overlooked. Latin America has a certain feel which if you're not used to can put some people in a heightened state of alert. I also don't want to cast Bogota as the safest place in the world, it's not. As in all my reports I have mentioned that certain areas (SF being one) feels sketchy and by no means would I say it's safe but having said that I have seen some gringos walk through SF oblivious to their surroundings probably because they're so freaked out from these reports that they almost make themselves a target not walking with confidence and awareness. One guy looked like a deer in headlights oblivious to sounds and people around him. It was quite eye opening. I personally feel safe walking to SF from the Ibis museo up until about 9 pm at night. By that time most people have cleared out of my preferred walking route of Carrera 7 to Calle 22 and then walking in. I'm also obviously gringo and so stand out. I feel as though if you had more Spanish features you would have a better time. But after that I just get a didi in to SF. I find the main streets where the girls and clubs are fairly safe but obviously gritty. When I've left the SF clubs around 1-2 am I personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking around SF. The streets are a lot more deserted but the street with the clubs on is fine and easy to catch a taxi back to your hotel.

Just my 2 cents. Take what you want from it. I feel Bogota gets a bit of a bad wrap. Petty theft is common. Obviously murder is another thing but unfortunately this can happen in many places.

Historically, for anyone not familiar with Bogota the north is as safe as you can get in Bogota but things happen EVERYWHERE! The further south the more unsafe things get.

Bogota is divided into zones, zone 1 is deep south and as you move north to zone 6 in Chico. Utilities are the cheapest in 1 and gets progressively more expensive in the neighborhoods in the.

North. Speaking in generalities, the rents are the cheapest in the south and inhabited by those less fortunate and work in menial jobs but by no means not good people, most are hard working, honorable people unfortunately they fall victim to the robbers more than the richer residents mainly they only take taxis or Ubers or have a car. Most never take the transmilenio, lots of pick pockets and robbers on the platform. Most buses are ok but I personally stay away from the blue buses, they have a bad reputation.

Having made many many visits to Colombia in the last 15 years and having a family for the last 5 I have experienced the living conditions in the south and it is difficult. Back in 2010 Bogota was much better than today, they had escaped the stigma of Pablo, Tourism became to come back and the crime was basically normal big city crime. The cops came in and scoured the El Bronx neighborhood which scattered all the drug addicts and criminals to other neighborhood, probably good intentions with bad consequences. THEN Covid came. Poor Colombia can't get a break. Hundreds of thousands of very bad and desperate Venezuelans spread to other border countries in South America, Colombia being hit the most with this influx. So CRIME went up in Bogota, the lack of resources for the people took a toll on the city. And then, as of now the trifecta. With the aid of ill-informed University students, they elected. Gustavo Petro, a dedicated rebel sworn to take down the, in power government of Colombia, a member of FARC he has installed XFARC members as ministers of a lot of the divisions of power in the city. So Colombia has more things to endure so Crime has grown and what was safe may not be safe anymore. Bogota Vets like Taggert are not wrong. Take taxis or Ubers at night either in the south El Centro or the north, to your hotel even if its just a few blocks. I stay at the same place or years when in Bogota, I know the family who own the hotel and they treat me as family so I trust everyone. Beware of some Hotel workers / doormen, cashiers in stores, some work with the street criminals and tip them off if you flash cash watches or jewelry. But be careful if you bring a girl back, don't trust her. There's a guy in Rio named Mario a German xpat who locks his door and won't let anyone leave his apartment until he searches them and the girls purses. Maybe a little over the top but good advice all the same.

Love Bogota and the Latin culture, my girls family are wonderful people, common working people by honorable and trustworthy. I've only been to SF twice, but had one problem when a skinny street person approached me and my wingman as we waited outside the Piscina for our driver. Its a standard MO for robbers to start a conversation sizing you up. And my wingman was a big guy, a boxer that hits hard but if he stabs or shoots you first it doesn't matter how hard you hit vs a gun. I kept him calm and our driver arrived at that moment so all was ok but I sensed, like Taggart something wasn'why right. So pay attention to your gut, take taxis / Uber stay sober and be stay safe. However there are for sure some exceptions to the North-South rule.

A few:

+ One of the most dangerous areas overall is SantaFe, which of course sits in the center north-south.

+ Parque LOS Hippies area & to the west across Carracas can be sketchy yet many consider it in the "North".

+ Some people consider the north to start around 72 (Ave Chile / Calle 72) in the center Chapinero. Others consider it around Zona T or El Virrey. Others consider the north to be Usaquen and above. So, it's relative. In general, all of those places are safe. But as you mention things happen everywhere and that's not unique to Colombia.

+ There are a few barrios peligroso in the north like cerro norte, santa cecilia, el castilo. But you're not likely to accidentally stumble into them.

+ Some not so great areas in Engativa, but you aren't likely to go there as a destination, but might travel through there on way to / from airport.

+ There really aren't any "gentrified" neighborhoods in the south that I am aware of. But there are some conjuntos or apartment buildings which for sure are safer than others.

Best advice of all is to not automatically think someone is trustworthy because they say they are from the north, nor to think someone is not a good person because they live in the south.

Not really something that's exactly like either one. Nothing like a FKK place here. Of course the Gogo bars are just essentially girls up on stage that you can invite down for a drink and so that's basically what the SF clubs are just that the girls aren't all up on the stage. It's more like a conventional strip club in the States. Every so often a girl will be up on the stage dancing naked and the other girls are just standing / wandering around. You sit down at a table, your Mesero will bring you a drink (poker beer and water are 10 mil each), you sit there and drink and take a look and you just pick the girl you want to sit down with you and buy them a drink. Whereas in the gogo bars some of the girls can speak quite good English here If you don't speak Spanish well enough the conversation won't be that great. Occasionally you find an older girl that speaks some English but most of the younger girls don't speak any English at all. Overall, there is good advice in this post. However there are for sure some exceptions to the North-South rule.

A few:

+ One of the most dangerous areas overall is SantaFe, which of course sits in the center north-south.

+ Parque LOS Hippies area & to the west across Carracas can be sketchy yet many consider it in the "North".

+ Some people consider the north to start around 72 (Ave Chile / Calle 72) in the center Chapinero. Others consider it around Zona T or El Virrey. Others consider the north to be Usaquen and above. So, it's relative. In general, all of those places are safe. But as you mention things happen everywhere and that's not unique to Colombia.

+ There are a few barrios peligroso in the north like cerro norte, santa cecilia, el castilo. But you're not likely to accidentally stumble into them.

+ Some not so great areas in Engativa, but you aren't likely to go there as a destination, but might travel through there on way to / from airport.

+ There really aren't any "gentrified" neighborhoods in the south that I am aware of. But there are some conjuntos or apartment buildings which for sure are safer than others.

Years ago here there was a report on Viviana Santamaria's "swinger club". They've moved a few times from the location in that original report and she's currently at Carrera 30 opposite the TM 7 Agosto stop. This is by far my favorite place currently. So this past weekend The Tall Man happened to find myself in Bogota for the umpteenth time in the past decades of visits and had some time to kill on this past Friday evening so why not check out SF so headed over there from my nearby hotel about 6 PM.

Its a tough neighborhood. After dark I would take a taxi whenever I go to the clubs of Santa Fe, and even then some of the taxi drivers have told me they do not want to go into Santa Fe. During the day while walking from Santa Fe district I was followed by some weirdo homeless guy shouting at me, and had to duck into a restaurant to shake him.

I've taken a shortcut to get to Santa Fe and every time I think " what are you doing" I'm amazed I've not been robbed yet, the amount of shady characters and homeless I walk past is crazy. I'the say the hotel itself is good value and very safe in the daytime, at night it can be quite a little too quiet in the area and you need to keep your whits about you.

The police have the area covered well. Colomnbian people outside of the area are the most fearful but there are plenty of taxis there. Many of the people in the area are very poor but many middle class too I think there is much more tolerance between the classes and races here. I also think the North is where you have real pros hunting gringos like the US diplomat who was murdered in a failed cab abduction a while back. Anyhow-- just my 2 cents.

Good idea to take small bills into the clubs, California club was the worst I'd walk in and within 5 seconds the waiter would bring over a bottle of Corona and charge me 50,000 pesos. The Troya club was quite good with a good selection of girls.


Never really concluded this trips report down to Bogota so I'll just end it with final thoughts. I wrote more specific details in my other reports so check those out.

In general:

Club girls in Santa Fe- the girls range from 80-150 depending on what you want. And in general 120 k seems to be the standard at least for me which included BBBJ, DFK (some would do this well and others wouldn't), DATY and multiple positions. Depending on how cute the girl was that might also include CIM but typically add another 20-30 k for that. I tip (that's just me and if they do a good job) so I'm typically walking out after a girl spending $150 k all up with propina. I rarely drink with a girl as I have limited Spanish and what Spanish I do have and understand is difficult to do anything with as the clubs music is extremely loud.

Paisas. F, I can't stand Paisas but there's always 1 girl that I pick from there. In general I find the place underwhelming. It's huge inside and I don't get why they can't fill it up with more girls or better quality girls. The music is insanely loud as well. Having said that I picked up this insanely slim girl that bordered on almost anorexic (thin is my preferred body type and she bordered on almost being too thin but she was too cute and slim to pass up) who was extremely compliant in the room. I forget the price now but since everything hovered around 150 k I believe I took her up for 120 k and tipped her at the end. Every other night I was there Paisas was dead (including Friday and Saturday) with better talent in the other clubs.

Troya. You can't really go wrong in here. Yes, sometimes there might not be one to your liking and you'll end up in another club but if you're here over a few days you'll hook up with a girl from here at least once. Casas. Tantra spa. Honestly you can't go wrong with this place. I was there almost every day of my 5 day trip. There were usually 8-12 girls. All doable. All body types. So just for ease of use it was great. There's a mall nearby (Avenida Chile mall) perfect to freshen back up afterwards in the little small food court area.

Tips:

1) Don't go into the clubs of Santa Fe with large bills. The mesero will literally take forever trying to find you change if you only buy 1 poker beer and pay for it with a 50 k (or worse will just disappear). Head to oxxo, etc and buy something small to get change and plan to pay for drinks with either 10 or 20 k bills.

2) screw the transmillenio unless you take steps to not be a victim of pickpocketing. Despite the few reports of stabbings and / or muggings on here, I have been to Bogota as a solo white male traveller 5 or 6 times now. I have not had a problem however I have had a problem with pickpockets and once again some douche tried to pickpocket me while getting into a crowded bus. Honestly, uber and didi are not that much more than the bus and just easier so I just recommend doing that unless you want to stay as cheap as possible. Just don't have stuff in your pockets. The people that do this often work in groups and they're good.

Restaurant ideas: don't listen to the people that say Bogota doesn't have good food. There's loads of good food. If it's your first time then try a visit to La Perseverancia Market for lunch or a late breakfast. Compania Casa Del Rey is close enough to Santa Fe and has some nice options. Pastelera Florida while not the best is easy and good. Those are 3 places near or around the Hotel Ibis worthwhile to check out. There are loads more. Visit some good coffee places as well.

And yes, I'll be back again for a 7th time (or is it the 6th?? I've lost track).

From Ibis I always like walking down carrera 7 and then turning the corner at compania casa del ray and walking down Calle 22. I'll grab a coffee next to the coffee / used book shop right next to the cinema if I'm dragging a bit. Not the best coffee but it does the trick. Carrera 7 is usually always busy enough and For most of the walk into SF Calle 22 is quite a well lit street for Bogota standards. I'm usually walking down there before 9 pm and most of the stores are still open along the walk and there's usually a game at the soccer park right before you get to the transmillenio stop which is basically the start of SF so it doesn't feel as deserted as some of the other streets in the evening. I'll usually always get someone right next to there ask me to buy something. Never can figure out wtf it is they're trying to sell me it's like a bag with more plastic bags in it I can't figure it out LOL. Was there about a month ago and had a good time. I've been enjoying the casas more lately. Partly because there's always 1 or 2 thin girls there and thin girls are my thing. On my last trip Fiebre and Troya were the better clubs but it's all dependent on the night. I did feel the clubs were a bit quieter though but having said that I only need 1 or 2 girls and I'm good for the night so it's not like I need to be inundated with stunners. Prices in the club for me were all around 120-150 k depending on what debauchery you want.

The information found on this forum for the city of Bogota is poor.

To start, the "Zona de Tolerancia" should be avoided. The club Troya can be relied upon if you have no other options. The experience of visiting the club is bizarre: for a block or two around Troya security guards flank the streets to create a demilitarized zone. Outside of that boundary are hordes of drugged out zombies. Inside the club the atmosphere might be ok, if slow. I did not see Colombian clientele there, only two bewildered Asian tourists. This is a sign you're in the wrong place, we're not in Asia. Where are the young wealthy Colombian men?

Young people partying can be found in the neighborhood Chapinero, at various bars and dance clubs. I'll provide the name of a salsa club that is nearby some action: "Sandunguera The temple of classical salsa". The salsa club is remarkable. Around those streets you'll see young people partying, drinking, and darting in and out of various dance clubs spread out across a few blocks on a Friday or Saturday night. Nearby are at least two of the more popular electronic dance clubs, which I won't name. Upon seeing a colorful brightly lit hallway on those streets I walked in to discover an unnamed brothel full of young hood men drinking with girls -- while I would not recommend that particular establishment, opportunities abound. On other streets barkers will bring you into some of the clubs you've cited, such as "Pussy House".

From the above salsa club you can walk to another nightlife area, Parque de LOS Hippies. Keep an eye out, or even ask people, and you'll discover places.

The prevalence of motels in that region suggests there must be more. Many of the motels do not readily appear on Google Maps as they're explicitly love motels. I suspect there are establishments that are difficult to find. Or perhaps everything has moved online and either nobody knows or nobody is willing to share. I know that the 50 mil beer trick is a commonly pulled by some. You should always ask how much the beer / drink is when ordering it-- But if you would have said you are only going to pay 25-35 mil you would have only had to pay that-.

To be fair the trick is not that a price wasn't asked it's that despite asking for a poker you are bought a corona. Had the same thing happen to me. Music is stupidly loud in paisas. I walk in I tell the guy I want a poker, he walks away, comes back over holding a corona thinking that must be for someone else but then he walks towards me and I say no while seated and use the no hand gesture of shaking it and bam, he pops open the lid with the bottle opened attached to his belt. 50 k thanks. I too was pissed and I said in the best Spanish I could muster that I did not want a corona I want a poker and he says sorry it's open now pay. Two choices. Don't pay and cause a problem which not really looking to do over 40 k despite it pissing me off and I sometimes find a skinny young thing in there that I don't want to be barred from there or something or just pay it but make it known that I'm not getting a drink from him again or staying in the club. Anyways, I get the impression that corona is considered premium in Colombia despite it tasting like a weak, diluted urinal bath so if you see a mesero walk over with a corona shut that sh*t down immediately.

The trick that pisses me off more though is the not bring change back when ordering a poker which is 10 k and handing the guy a 20 k. I typically tip and 90% of the time the guy either has change on him or returns with change and I tip 2-4 k a drink. Pisses me off though when they pretend to be back for change and never return. That's the time I usually say something. It's why I also put in each of my posts to never order solo drinks with anything larger than a 20 because that crap sends them into a mindblown moment and I don't get it but they literally cannot ever find change.

But yes, if it's not a poker you're ordering ask how much for everything. Poker is the only thing that seems to be a consistent 10 k in every club in SF. Water varies from 10-15 k and I think Gatorade was the same but it's been a while since I ordered it. Also as Mr E said, always ask how much the girls drink is if you're buying and don't be shy to ask. I rarely buy girls drinks as I would rather use those funds to bang upstairs but to each their own.

I always go up to the bar, try to sit at the bar, and order directly from the bartender. That way no waiter is involved to demand a tip or overcharge. Also, you can see your beer and make sure nobody put a drug in it.Generally the price that they tell you has their tip-- Poker, water and other standard beers are 10 mil which has the tip-- I think the small Coronas are usually 25 mil-- the bigger ones more-- you can negotiate with the waiter.

Thr Bar will charge you the price with tip built in too-.

Each to their own but in SF I've had some great 50-70 k bangs and had some gems in the clubs. When you go to a normal bar / club as a gringo you're always at risk of being scoped. As I said each to their own but I think SF is worth a visit at least once.

Young people partying can be found in the neighborhood Chapinero, at various bars and dance clubs. I'll provide the name of a salsa club that is nearby some action: "Sandunguera The temple of classical salsa". The salsa club is remarkable. Around those streets you'll see young people partying, drinking, and darting in and out of various dance clubs spread out across a few blocks on a Friday or Saturday night. Nearby are at least two of the more popular electronic dance clubs, which I won't name. Upon seeing a colorful brightly lit hallway on those streets I walked in to discover an unnamed brothel full of young hood men drinking with girls -- while I would not recommend that particular establishment, opportunities abound. On other streets barkers will bring you into some of the clubs you've cited, such as "Pussy House".

From the above salsa club you can walk to another nightlife area, Parque de LOS Hippies. Keep an eye out, or even ask people, and you'll discover places.

The prevalence of motels in that region suggests there must be more. Many of the motels do not readily appear on Google Maps as they're explicitly love motels. I suspect there are establishments that are difficult to find. Or perhaps everything has moved online and either nobody knows or nobody is willing to share. By security guards, you mean police. And they are not always around. They tend to be there during the busier times like Friday and Saturday nights though. Don't depend on them saving your ass though if you get yourself in trouble. There is no real boundary. The hoards of drugged out zombies are everywhere. If you only saw asians and no colombians then you were in Troya at the wrong time. It doesn't start to get going until later. I would say the wealthy young colombian men don't end up at troya. Troya can be fun but its not particularly high class. This is santa fe after all.

I visited Bogot in early March 2025, and I'the like to share my experience.

I'm 46 years old, from the USA, and have traveled all over the worldbut this was my first time in Colombia.

I stayed at an Airbnb called Colonia Suites, located at Calle 22 / Carrera 7, right on the main street in El Centro. It was a very nice and convenient place to stay.

Arrival & Airport Taxi Experience /.

I landed in Bogot around 9:00 PM. After a long wait at passport control, I finally got out about an hour later. Before arriving, I had watched some YouTube videos suggesting travelers take a "white cab" from the airport. But when I looked around, I couldn't find anything whitejust the regular yellow cabs.

I checked Uber and saw an estimate of 30,000 COP. The yellow taxi line quoted about 25,000 COP. I figured worst case, I'the end up paying around 40,00050,000 COP.

As soon as I got in the cab, the driver started chatting: "Is this your first time here?" etc. That raised a red flag for meI started sensing a potential scam. With my very limited Spanish, I tried to act like I had been to Colombia many times before.

When we arrived at my Airbnb, I handed him a 100,000 COP bill. I hadn't seen a taxi meter during the ride, and honestly, I was tired and forgot to ask about the total upfront. That was my mistake.

Then he told me, "You have to give me three more. " I was confused. He pointed to the meter, which now showed "435. " That's when it hit mehe was trying to say I owed 435,000 COP (around $100 USD)!

I immediately said, "F** you. "* Took back my 100,000 COP and told him to call the police.

Then he touched the meter, and the number dropped to 89,000 COP. At that point, I knew the meter had been rigged. (Later I learned that Bogot taxi meters start with a number, and when the ride ends, they press a button to show the final farebut in this case, he was clearly overcharging me.).

I gave him 50,000 COP, told him "That's it. Take it or call the police. " he took the money, and I walked away.

Exploring Santa Fe in Bogot My First Night Out /.

After checking into my Airbnb, I changed clothes and decided to head outit was around 11 PM. My place was about six blocks from Santa Fe, a neighborhood every blog and video warned about for being unsafe, especially at night. I get it. Santa Fe is known as Bogot's red-light district. But I've been to red-light areas all over the world, so curiosity got the best of me.

I started walking from Calle 22. The streets were dirty and mostly empty, but nothing too alarming. Once I entered Santa Fe, thoughwow. It felt like I had stepped into a completely different world. The vibe changed instantly. There were people everywheremen, women, even kids just hanging around. Despite what you might expect, there was definitely a sense of life there.

Before heading out, I studied the area using Google Street View. I memorized the streets ahead of time so I wouldn't have to pull out my iPhonedidn't want to risk it flashing in the wrong place.

That first night, I didn't try to explore too much. I just entered Santa Fe and headed toward the street with clubs. I spotted a place called Troya Club and walked in. I ordered a Corona for 30,000 COP, grabbed a table, and started checking out the scene.

There were plenty of girls inside, but no one approached me. I wasn't sure how things worked there, so after about 45 minutes, I decided to check out other clubs.

Next, I visited a place called Paisas, but it was completely empty. I stood outside for a bit, thinking about what to do next. Then I noticed another spot nearby called Fiebre. I went in, grabbed another Corona, and chilled for a bit. Same thingno one approached me. So I waved at a girl and said Hi. Using my phone translator, I asked if she do lap dances. She said yesthree dances for 80,000 COP. Deal.

We went to the VIP area and I got my dances. After that, I got more confident. I started asking other girls directly two dances for 50,000 COP. I probably ended up getting around 3040 lap dances in total. At about $6 per song, it felt like a bargain compared to the $50-per-song I've paid in Denver.

Some girls offered "extra fun," but I was tired and called it a night around 3 AM.

The Walk Back Risky but Quiet.

There were a few taxis around, but I made the (probably dumb) decision to walk back. I took Calle 24 and, interestingly enough, didn't see a single person the entire walk. Made it back safely to my Airbnb.

I'll be honestI love walking empty city streets late at night. There's something peaceful about it. But I don't recommend doing that in Bogot. I got lucky.

I have dark hair, dress simply, and apparently look a little bit local. I also walk with a lot of confidence, which might've helped me avoid trouble. I've traveled all over the world and haven't really had any problems. Stillalways be smart, stay alert, and trust your instincts. I always do my research before I go anywhere or start walking around.

Day 2 Back in Santa Fe /.

I headed back to Santa Fe around 5 PM. This time, I felt like a pro. I explored morechecked every street and corner to get a better sense of the area. There were plenty of options, but I wasn't sure who to approach. I was almost ready to head back to my Airbnb when I spotted a girl who looked like my type walking down the street. I tried to follow her, but lost her in the crowd.

As I started walking back, I saw her againturns out she was playing a game on her phone. I asked her the deal, and she said 70,000 COP. I agreed. I also paid 20,000 COP for a room, which wasn't anything special. We started, but she kept playing the game on her phone the entire time. Totally killed the vibe. I couldn't even finish.

I asked if she'the give me a BJ for another 30,000 COP, and that wrapped it up. Not a great experience, but heyexperience is experience. I walked back to my Airbnb.

Second Night Late-Night Santa Fe /.

That night, I went back to Santa Fe around 11 PM and headed straight to Fiebre. By now, the staff recognized me. I had tipped well the previous night, so this time, offering 3 dances for 50,000 COPand everyone accepted. I realized I had overpaid on my first night. 😄 Still a gringo price, but no complaints. $4 / dance.

I got around 4050 lap dances, tried most of the girls working that night. Eventually, I found one I was really into. She quoted 180,000 COP, and we had a good time. Nothing too crazy, but solid overall.

This time, I left around 2 AM and took a taxi backpaid 20,000 COP. I played it safer and avoided walking alone at night.

Next Stop: Europe.

The next morning, I flew to Spain for a 6-day trip through Spain, Germany (FFK's), Hungary, and Czechia. After that, I'll be heading back to Medelland.

Now I see they overcharge (probably the most) on a joint. The joint from the Santa Fe street, if you are a local, will be 5 K. That is poor quality. The better weed will be around 25 K for a gram; even this quality is inferior compared to the weed from California.

It was 5 K for a quarter gram bag of coke in Santa Fe several years ago. In Medellin several years ago, it was 15 K for a gram at the drive-up street. The taxi driver would have sold you a bag for 20 K.

I believe there is a gang that controls the drug sales in Santa Fe. There is at least 2 street corners where you can purchase. You can also purchase in probably all the clubs; I think they add about a 20% surcharge for a local. As a tourist, the price will probably be a lot higher.

The quality from the streets of Zona T was poor. They still cut it. For the street people, a few dollars is still good money.

One way to get it will be via the girls. Problem is that most of the girls will still rip you off, even if you are a regular. Most of the girls have no sense of the repeat business concept.

WARNINGS: Try not to have more than 1 gram. Drugs are not illegal, but it is prohibited. If you have more than 1 gram, they can potentially charge you with selling. That's years in jail. Always have enough money for a bribe. Most cops don't care about weed, but a gringo with weed might be a dollar sign. Possession of coke can land you in jail overnight.

Remember, in Colombia, there are no constitutional rights. If you look suspicious, they will search you. They always search the young people, especially if they dress in potential gang attire. But I've never seen cops search older men in sports jackets.

El Mono Bandido is a hip bar in Zona T. There are lines during the weekend. Even though there is a bar, it is more of a table service, where groups of friends are at a table. I've never fully examined the pick-up scene there, but I guess if you have game.

Gringo Tuesdays is a night at a club in Zona T that caters to English. People will start there early, in order to practice English. Later on, a line forms, and they charge a cover. I'm guessing this might be the best place to pick up a girl, since many girls there want to learn English and meet gringos.

El Irish Pub is a chain. The one in Zona T is definitely not a pick-up bar. But, at the small bar, it probably is the best place to meet English speaking people (either tourist / ex-pats or educated locals). The other place to meet gringos will be at Hooters during an American football game.

Thanks.My experience is the quality that is available is not great-- I do get high quality (see photo) like in LA or other US cities and the cost is about $8-$9 a gram-- Nice and Skunky.

White is not really not so great in Santa Fe either-- I do know someone for pure stuff but I don't know exactly how much as I don't do it.

Probably the closest thing you'll find to what your looking for might be Lido on carrera 14. It's a club. Music is not crazy loud so you can have a conversation. Drinks are expensive (think 50 k+ for a beer). The girls here are as attractive as they come in Bogota. You can chat with whoever you fancy and see if there is chemistry. I've been back for about 1 1/2 weeks as of today from my most recent trip to Bogota. This was my 4th trip to Bogota since my first trip in Sep 2023. This trip like my previous one I again decided to stay at Hotel San Francisco since it was close to the action. This would be my longer trip to Bogota having arrived March 1st and left on March 30th. I'm a working man so I was working my job from my hotel room during the daytime except for my 2nd week when I too pto the entire week so I mostly walked over to the Santa Fe area in the evenings after my work was done. During my stay I mostly hit up Troya, Friebre, and I checked out both Paisas and Venus once. Other than the clubs I saw a lot of freelances in the area especially my regular who I saw a lot LOL sometimes after first having a lackluster experience with a newbie.

Troya is mostly the same as usual. I still find the dj there can talk a bit too much for my liking. Just play the must so I can get some lap dances and feel up some women.

Friebre was the same as usual at first. However, one weekend night that bald headed, older, mesero was bugging people including me as we went up to the second level to get lapdances about also buying beers too. I thought it was just him trying to scam guys (he was doing it to the locals too). However, on a subsequent night when I was there I heard from one of the girls that they apparently have some new thing where when you go up there to get dances you have to buy the girl a drink too. The night I was told this the entire upstairs was empty as everyone was just getting dances in the regular area which really does suck. Needless to say this made me stick to Troya the remainder of this trip.

Paisa only dropped in once. There was only a few girls there. There were two who were to my liking one a morena and the other a short stacked little chica, but they were occupied. Welcome to Bogota!

Welcome to the land of putas, arepas, thin air, and this trip, pinche rain! It mostly rained in the late afternoons and early evenings. The nicer parts of the city, like La Candelaria and Zona Rosa were quite clean. But I found some other areas were a bit trashy and riddled with graffiti. Having said that, I saw some incredible painted murals throughout the city. Because I am old and already walk slow, I did not have any issues with the 8,661 feet altitude.

Why return to Bogota?

Last time I was there was in August 2024. After that romp, I felt I only scratched the surface of the mongering scene. As well as other things to see, do, and eat in that huge city. I just had to return and explore more of the city!

Logistics & Other Stuff:

Travel Insurance:

The SquareMouth web-site gave me over 50 quotes from over 50 different companies. I chose Trawick from National Mutual. It was for 6-days and cost $260.

Money:

All the money I quote is in COP, Colombian pesos. According to Oanda, the current rate is 4,270 COP to 1 US dollar. I just divided the currency by 4 and it worked out for me. For example, 100,000 COP was around 25 bucks. I arrived very late in Bogota and I decided to cash in some dollars at the airport at the exchange place next to baggage claim three; the crappy rate was 3,900. I used ATMs thereafter as needed. Tip from Woodman: You can pull 2,000,000 from the ATMs at Davivienda banks; around 500 US.

Flight:

I flew Aeromexico from Tijuana round-trip to Bogota. Each way, there was a layover in Mexico City. Total flight time was around 7 hours each way.

Immigration / Customs:

Because of my last trip to Colombia, I knew there was a Migration Form I needed to fill out called CheckMig. This is the website: migracioncolombia. Gov. Co. There you need to fill out the immigration registration form 72 hours before your trip OR up to 1 hour before.

It took me around 10 minutes to fill out the form and submit it. Once I did, within a few minutes, I received the document in my e-mail box. I had the completed form on my phone and I also printed the form out.

When I was going through immigration in Bogota, I was asked to show the completed form to the agent. I gave him the printed form. He also asked where I was staying during my trip; I showed him. He stamped my passport and I was done.

In customs I had to run my bags through the x-ray machine and that was it.

When I was returning, I completed the form online. But the only immigration process there was when I had to place my passport on some machine and the little doors opened to let me move on to security. The CheckMig form was not asked for and nobody stamped my passport.

Hotel:

Once again, I stayed at the Tequendama Suites in Centro Internacional.

PROS:

- Close distance to the Zona de Tolerancia.

- Safe location.

- Solid WiFi.

- Large rooms.

- Great staff and service.

- Free breakfast buffet from 6 to 10.

- Chica friendly – First off, I registered for 2 people when I booked the room. When I brought home a bar chica at 3 am, I added her to my room. Otherwise, chicas were allowed in my room after they registered at the front desk and could stay until 9 pm. The front desk always called my room before and after for confirmation.

CONS:

- Rooms had NO heating.

- No free bottled water after the first day.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay!

Communication:

I have the T-Mobile Go5 GPlus55 plan; no worries whatsoever.

Transportation:

When I arrived at the airport, I did not see a taxi booth, so I just headed outside. All the taxis quoted the same price; 60. Because it was late and the streets were empty; the trip took around 20 minutes. Returning to the airport, my hotel called one of their van drivers and the cost was 40; I think.

Other forms of transportation:

Uber – Reliable during the day and early evening; iffy late night. This trip, Uber offered Taxis to their options. For me, that was my choice during my stay. The wait times were shorter and the fares were lower.

Taxis – Most of the drivers were older and had no concept regarding google maps. But when I gave them the physical address, they knew exactly where to go. And all the taxis I took off the street had meters.

Also, I met Duvan, a friend of the chica from Sixty-Nine. I paid him 50 k an hour. We ran the streets for two nights. I have his number of anyone is interested.

Spanish:

During my stay, I did not hear any English, which included my hotel, restaurants, drivers, and putas.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

Pajare Salinas. Outstanding.

Dona Elvira – Excellent.

La Casa – Outstanding.

Tierra Chapinero – Outstanding.

La Kaska 106 – Excellent.

After going to Colombia for several years, I would be the first to tell others do not travel to Colombia for the food. However the nicer restaurants had some great chow!

Overall, the food was pretty damn good. There was an abundant amount of street food venders scattered throughout the city.

Strip / table dance clubs:

In each club, I asked several questions and wrote down the answers as usual. Thus, if I am wrong; correct me please. I wrote down the lowest ficha price. Also, none of the clubs I visited had a cover charge. In most of the clubs, there was only bottle service available.

Club: Sixty-Nine.

Ficha: 30.

Sex: 200 for 20 minutes.

On Site: Yes.

Number / quality of chicas: 30+, good to hot.

Comments: This club did not seem to offer anything else but bottle service. A sweetie sat with me and we shared a half-bottle of Baileys.

Welcome to the land of putas, arepas, thin air, and this trip, pinche rain! It mostly rained in the late afternoons and early evenings. The nicer parts of the city, like La Candelaria and Zona Rosa were quite clean. But I found some other areas were a bit trashy and riddled with graffiti. Having said that, I saw some incredible painted murals throughout the city. Because I am old and already walk slow, I did not have any issues with the 8,661 feet altitude.

Why return to Bogota?

Last time I was there was in August 2024. After that romp, I felt I only scratched the surface of the mongering scene. As well as other things to see, do, and eat in that huge city. I just had to return and explore more of the city!

The SquareMouth web-site gave me over 50 quotes from over 50 different companies. I chose Trawick from National Mutual. It was for 6-days and cost $260.

Money:

All the money I quote is in COP, Colombian pesos. According to Oanda, the current rate is 4,270 COP to 1 US dollar. I just divided the currency by 4 and it worked out for me. For example, 100,000 COP was around 25 bucks. I arrived very late in Bogota and I decided to cash in some dollars at the airport at the exchange place next to baggage claim three; the crappy rate was 3,900. I used ATMs thereafter as needed. Tip from Woodman: You can pull 2,000,000 from the ATMs at Davivienda banks; around 500 US.

Flight:

I flew Aeromexico from Tijuana round-trip to Bogota. Each way, there was a layover in Mexico City. Total flight time was around 7 hours each way.

Immigration / Customs:

Because of my last trip to Colombia, I knew there was a Migration Form I needed to fill out called CheckMig. This is the website: migracioncolombia. Gov. Co. There you need to fill out the immigration registration form 72 hours before your trip OR up to 1 hour before.

It took me around 10 minutes to fill out the form and submit it. Once I did, within a few minutes, I received the document in my e-mail box. I had the completed form on my phone and I also printed the form out.

When I was going through immigration in Bogota, I was asked to show the completed form to the agent. I gave him the printed form. He also asked where I was staying during my trip; I showed him. He stamped my passport and I was done.

In customs I had to run my bags through the x-ray machine and that was it.

When I was returning, I completed the form online. But the only immigration process there was when I had to place my passport on some machine and the little doors opened to let me move on to security. The CheckMig form was not asked for and nobody stamped my passport.

Hotel:

Once again, I stayed at the Tequendama Suites in Centro Internacional.

PROS:

- Close distance to the Zona de Tolerancia.

- Safe location.

- Solid WiFi.

- Large rooms.

- Great staff and service.

- Free breakfast buffet from 6 to 10.

- Chica friendly First off, I registered for 2 people when I booked the room. When I brought home a bar chica at 3 am, I added her to my room. Otherwise, chicas were allowed in my room after they registered at the front desk and could stay until 9 pm. The front desk always called my room before and after for confirmation.

CONS:

- Rooms had NO heating.

- No free bottled water after the first day.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay!

Communication:

I have the T-Mobile Go5 GPlus55 plan; no worries whatsoever.

Transportation:

When I arrived at the airport, I did not see a taxi booth, so I just headed outside. All the taxis quoted the same price; 60. Because it was late and the streets were empty; the trip took around 20 minutes. Returning to the airport, my hotel called one of their van drivers and the cost was 40; I think.

Other forms of transportation:

Uber Reliable during the day and early evening; iffy late night. This trip, Uber offered Taxis to their options. For me, that was my choice during my stay. The wait times were shorter and the fares were lower.

Taxis Most of the drivers were older and had no concept regarding google maps. But when I gave them the physical address, they knew exactly where to go. And all the taxis I took off the street had meters.

Also, I met Duvan, a friend of the chica from Sixty-Nine. I paid him 50 k an hour. We ran the streets for two nights. I have his number of anyone is interested.

Spanish:

During my stay, I did not hear any English, which included my hotel, restaurants, drivers, and putas.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

Dona Elvira Excellent.

La Casa Outstanding.

Tierra Chapinero Outstanding.

After going to Colombia for several years, I would be the first to tell others do not travel to Colombia for the food. However the nicer restaurants had some great chow!

Overall, the food was pretty damn good. There was an abundant amount of street food venders scattered throughout the city.

In each club, I asked several questions and wrote down the answers as usual. Thus, if I am wrong; correct me please. I wrote down the lowest ficha price. Also, none of the clubs I visited had a cover charge. In most of the clubs, there was only bottle service available.

I reallly really really enjoy night club style set ups like dolce in cartagena and gusto in medellin. I know that's frowned upon on this website due to gringo prices.There is nothing exactly like Gustos in Bogota. Oh, if only there were. You might try Lido, I think that's the closest you'll get.

Janet Reno, President Clinton's Attorney General always would pay list price for her cars. Some people prefer to overpay. Of course, what is a woman's value? They have one high opinion of their value and you have another which is how little can I pay them. Much of the time those opinions will not be the same. They will think their body and pussy are gold and you will think they are overweight, have baby damage, saggy tits, are cold as an eskimo, and unresponisve like an American woman, basically a dead fish.

With the Hoes it can be a trade-off. If you "negotiate" on price, they can cut the time short and leave you with blue balls. Final thoughts on Bogota:

It was a seeking putas and eating good food trip. I thought the city was quite safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. The city was huge! I felt I spent a good amount of time in taxis / Ubers.
