What do you expect when you use a fake profile. Would you respond to chics that are using fake profiles? Man, some of the things you read on forums. Smh. For Facebook, you need to do things differently. I have over 400 medellin chics on my Facebook page. I started here with chics that peeps world recommend. I then started to request their friends and family. They would respond once they see I was friends with someone they knew. It takes time but you will build up your network that way. I wouldn't even see the hard core chics that these guys posted. I would just befriend them. I prefer the ones that don't have gringo friends. I've met quite a few that have not been with a gringo before and was curious. A few turned out to be a little stalkish, needy and jealous. They told me from the beginning they were not prepagos and didn't have sex for money so I sort of convinced them I was a little serious minded. Well that wasn't a good idea. LOL.Well some of us are not trying to have prepagos liking / commenting on our real fb profiles, that's the whole point why there are many monger accounts specifically made to network with prepagos from medellin. You may not care, but I do, I'm keeping this hobby private.

Your explanation is good and well reasoned but this is why I think the airport is a scam: lets say you go to the supermarket and the bottle of water is $1 then you go to a mall and that same bottle is $2, it is understandable because the mall salesperson has to pay rent. The airport salesperson probably has the same rent to pay but charges $5. Why does he do this? Because he knows that you cannot leave the airport to go buy the water somewhere else. That's a scam in my book. I always go the airport well fed and well hydrated and window shop only. The exception would be duty free items that are reasonably priced and that I need, of course.Let's just all agree that all airports are scams then. No matter where they are located LOL. Paying friggin $4 for a small a $$ bag of chips, wtf. Lets dump movie theaters in there too.

I personally don't understand why anyone who comes here for a few days at a time and who stays in Poblado would spend the time it takes to navigate Centro when you can walk a few steps to Lleras and point and click your way to a date. A few hundred dollars over a week or two is a drop in the bucket when you think about the up to $2,000 it cost for airline, hotel, and food over a short trip.You don't understand that because you are paying $2,000 for your airline, hotel and food for a "short trip" and that's not necessary if you're a Centro rat. Enables you to make more trips. Plus even if we did pay $2,000 for those three things, we'd still want to pay reasonable prices for the fourth thing, the fifth thing, etc. That's not sound logic. " That would be somewhat like saying why bother to use public transportation since you already paid a lot for a flight. Hmm maybe you think that way.
However, it's true that a real Centro rat would never stay in Poblado.

I agree with Turgid, the airport is in fact a scam and guys who say that it isn't a scam and try to explain it using supply and demand, so not understand economics.But he mentions that he likes to go to duty free. That is actually where the scam is. At the liquor store near my house in the States, Dominican liquor is cheaper than it is at the duty free in the Dominican Republic. Most people assume things in those shops are a bargain, but if they were to go to a normal supermarket or shop outside of the airport, then they will realize how much things are marked up in duty free.

I have done street girls in many countries such as Sosua, DR, Geylang, Singapore, Kolkata, India, Barcelona, Spain, NYC, US, ChangPing, China, Thailand, Tijuana, Mexico even Trinidad and possibly others but I have just never been inclined to bed Colombian street walkers in Medellin and Bogota. For me opting for the casas is a no brainer. It is just as cheap, safer and the chicas are hotter. If there were no casas I would go for Lleras. There is a much better choice of girls there.
Even checking cedulas is not fool-proof because it is possible that they can have a fake ID. To be extra safe use a hotel that will verify the cedula by checking it against the information registered to that particular cedula number (they have a website for looking it up).
Hotel Botero Real is a good hotel that will verify IDs and make sure that your lady is of legal age before they rent you the room.
And if the girl refuses to go to that hotel and tries to take you to a different hotel like on the backside behind the church, you should view that as a red flag.
-Gabacho.The place that I stayed saved me from someone with a fake ID. She said she had a physical Cedula but when she arrived she only had an electronic copy. When the front desk looked at it closely the ID number on the bottom it said 0123456789. I quickly ushered her out the door and had her leave.
......This is a scam known as price fixing and it is illegal.......Because I'm well fueled when I go to the airport I inevitably have to use their toilets. If more people did like me you can bet they would start charging for that too.

I have been at Lleras around midnight twice one week ago. Two samples have testified me that Lleras is not a place anymore where to find the model-type girls that we were used to see there before COVID. It does not matter if the same individuals move from Veracruz to LLeras or not (well, many do). What matters is that the average / overall outlook and elegance of girls there is NOT better than at Veracruz. This is out of question. A lot of the good quality doesn't have to work in a casa, nightclub or walk the park anymore.

Been readying a lot about casas. I have done my extensive research but not much information of casas.

The problem is that even if ID is real, it might not be theirs. Happens all the time. I won't speak for anyone else. I think there is already way more of that on the site than is useful. In my possibly isolated Centro rat case, I honestly don't care what anyone pays. I prefer everyone pay based on informed decisions but that's up to them. I'm not into schadenfreude, so I don't take pleasure in anyone else's disadvantage. What makes my heart smile is an enjoyable bang. At whatever price. Once again, it's only me and everyone's tastes and situations are their own. If I felt like I was having more enjoyable experiences or even more variety by paying the going rate at ostensibly more upscale venues, I would not hesitate to do it. To be honest, every so often I do it just to break the routine. So far, and I've been at this more than a little while, I haven't had the desire to shift gears. I could go the seeking arrangement / facebook / Lleras route exclusively without noticing the financial uplift. I don't do it because I know from practical experience I don't find it more interesting or otherwise more worthwhile. My way is to break up the Centro rat routine with Laureles, LOS Colores, and Centro casas and probably a couple of times a month mileroticos & other online girls.
It does make ones heart smile when one believes that one is banging chicas for one fifth the price that other gringos are paying.
I will go as far as to say Poblado and Provenza were ruined by passport bros. Believe it or not, they really aren't a factor in all but that small area of the city. To be fair, they are a huge factor in that area of the city. It's jarring for somebody like me who is rarely there except for dinner out at a restaurant. Anytime I'm there after 9 PM or so, wow, it's so unlike the pre-pandemic Medellin. They aren't even a big factor in Centro. But I get your point. For many visitors Poblado and Provenza is Medellin and the rest of the city does not exist. I'm OK with it.

I'm trying to look at it from a different perspective. I'm thinking about convenience. You know what the rush hour traffic is like in Medellin. If you are staying in Laureles or Poblado and you dip your toe in the Centro rat lifestyle, you are going to want to get out of Dodge once the sun goes down. That's the heart of rush hour. It's no fun sitting in an uber in rush hour traffic. If I'm here for one or two weeks of my hard earned vacation time I can't imagine letting any of it fritter away while I'm staring at the back of another car listening to reggaeton on a scratch shitty car radio.

Easy for the girl to remember all her older sisters information since sisters share just about everything and usually have the same eyes so near impossible to tell the ID does not belong to the younger sister. I learned all my info in the Philippines. Had a police setup done on me and taken to the CIDG (PH FBI) station which was known for setups. Spent 10 hours there before they let me go. I paid nothing because I never touched the girl and I knew my Sht. I should get paid for what I know. I will give you some pointers. First text her you are now staying in a different hotel or apartment nearby and give the fake address and room number. Meet away a block away. Take away their phone so they can not text or call their friend who in turn will call their other friend or family member who is a police officer who is waiting for the call. Tell her she can have it back once you finish and she is outside your place. Walk separately with her in front to avoid stares. If she is behind you she may talk to someone and you would not know it. The answer I was looking for from MB1 was something along the lines of use a place similar to classic (where I'm at right now as I type this). Obviously if your are inside an establishment the girls who are 18 have to really be 18.

Take the Metro.I would (I do) stay in Centro until time comes for getting ready for dinner (8pm). Things get more interesting after dark. Then, walk until San Antonio and hop on the first cab, which will have the way straight to Poblado. This of course applies only to those with enough acquaitance with the area, not naif passport bros.
By the way, I do not consider myself as a "rat", I stay in Poblado / Oviedo, I enjoy the comfort of my 4-star hotel, I go to good restaurants because a need a rewarding dinner (inexpensive in Medellin yet so good), but I have always found my best girls in Centro or in San Diego. And, yes, before COVID I was used to walk around bars there until 2am.
This is 100% my experience. Get out of Poblado and its another world. You can be the only gringo around if you go to certain neighborhoods. I've spent some time in parts of Bello including the nicer shopping malls and I felt like I was in another world than Poblado. But as rice rocket used to say, definitely don't go there as you'll definitely have a horrible time and be killed. But I do think guys need good Spanish and some local contacts to make the most and be safest throughout the city, especially barrios populares. With girls it's the same thing.

Ask a girl about her age on WhatsApp and save / screenshot her response. Also ask for a picture of her ID and save / screenshot it as well. Or ask to check it in person and take a pic.

Then there is always the wild card. Case in point, last night I was leaving a party and the other side of the street was backed up a block and a half. I asked the Uber driver what was going on and he told me Saturday night sobriety check. He said they know just about everyone leaving La 70 has been drinking.
Leaving San Diego last week and saw my Uber wasn't moving. I walked up the block and saw that the yellow cabs were protesting the platforms and had traffic at a virtual halt.
It's always something besides the usual traffic, accidents and rush hour grind. Mongering can definitely be hampered, if you have to commute.

Take the Metro. Unfortunately, when time's an issue, it's the truth around peak hours, as convenient as cab service is the metro is the way to go sometimes. Of couse, that depends on which your way your traveling. If your going to poblado from el centro usually there's plenty of room, but if your headed to el centro during those hours your lucky to fit on the train and don't get stuck or crushed in the middle, you might not be able squeeze out at your destination. Unless you can fly, there's no perfect transportation method. I stay both in el centro and poblado and due to the travel back and forth, I have to remind myself why I'm here (and it's not the Gastronomy ). So, I basically like to stay where the action is.

I am loving my first trip here, staying in Poblado area with really cool airbnb.
Picked few 2 girls from the park, but I am mostly meeting girls From Milerotics.
Most of them Located in Lureles, some are casas some are independent.
Prices from 80 mil to 120 mil and some asking 150 mil.
Park is most expensive due to Americao tourist, quoting prices in USD. I generally skip them.

I will go as far as to say Poblado and Provenza were ruined by passport bros. This is why I do not hang out in Poblado, Provenza, Parque Lleras or any heavily Gringo populated areas in Colombia. When I'm ever in the Medellin area, I prefer Laureles, Belen, Envigado, Sabaneta, Itagui and Centro areas. I don't frequent Medellin like I use to but now I am exploring off the beaten path.
Moto travel is absolutely the fastest way to get through traffic. It is also, according to very clear statistics, by far the riskiest mode of travel. Motos are involved in north of 90% of all traffic accidents in Medellin. There are ghoulish Telegram channels devoted to moto accidents. The government created a public campaign for road safety based around a cartoon character that is characteristically risky moto driver. The latest tag line is "I did not buy a moto to drive slowly."
Motorbike taxi is pretty close to flying. Download apps like Picap also Didi has Didi Moto, someone just mentioned Uber has a moto option too now. Hop on a moto and cut thru the traffic..

What about Casas? I've seen the reports and the posted stats of 100 - 150 K COP for an hour at a casa (like New Life for example). I've also seen a few reports saying there was upcharge for some service (BBBJ or DATY in one report).
What's the service like in casas and how does it work as in relation to your base fee? Or is it 'every girl is different'?
For example in Germany FKK there's a common standard that's like for 100 euros you get 30 minutes, covered sex, BBBJ, no kissing or DATY.

I love it there because it's safe and you don't have to go anywhere but up to your room. The chica fee is $15 per person each time. Average price is $100 USD but a lot of girls will try to ask for $150 or $200. It's up to you to negotiate. They also give you free breakfast.
The other place you're thinking about is the Del Rey. It's gone out of business and closed for good.

But its more cosmopolitan there mostly cause the weather you are always wearing a coat or have an umbrella. As far as Mansoin style setup not really however Bogota is HUGE so there are plenty of hotels to rest at. Bogota has lots and lots of casa and types so its best to be centreally located. While Usaquen Is nicer I would suggest Chapinero Alto, you are close enough to go to the action in Santa Fe but not too north to be in traffic for 45 min.

They are much more reactive to social politeness, friendliness, and personal connection. Sure, they will take the money, and I am sure that there are some front desk folks who will react positively to it. But this is not Las Vegas, and your intent will not always be obvious. Some may just take it with a happy smile and have no idea you wanted an upgrade. Better off being super friendly, politely asking if there is any chance of an upgrade, and if you think there is an opening then being more blunt and saying "and if I give you a $100 k tip, could that help find an upgrade" with a friendly wink. Be their best buddy, aware that you will have to hand-hold them to your intent. That said, rooms aren't very expensive. Easier to just pay for your upgraded room.

Report from September, was down there for a couple of weeks.
2nd time here, Was solo dolo and Stayed in Hotel Nutibara in Centro. Hotel was about $50 per night, free breakfast and no fee to bring in multiple morras a day and any time of day. They set me up on the top floor with a balcony, was nice so I could smoke a lot of weed with a view LOL.
I went to town man, I lost count pero acosté con más de 70 morras guey. I hunted centro street girls, centro casas, laureles casa, Loutron, lleras clubs / street girls, facebook / tinder hoes, and strip clubs. I'll talk about prices, experiences, and bullshit / scams that occurred.
Centro:
For context I'm late 20's, muscular / sleeve tattoos, and Mex-American so my Spanish is good and people didn't mess with me. I inject testosterone and other steroids to increase aggression and libido. So girls by the church quoted me 50 k pesos for 30 minutes, plus 10-20 k for the room. Not a lot of lookers here but can't beat the price.
Grill Nueva Avenida was a strip club 5 minute walk from the hotel and 80 k for 30 min. 7 k beers and 11 k for lady drink.
Walked to New Life casa one time and it was 75 k for 30 minutes. TBH only 1 or 2 girls were to my liking there.
Conejitas strip club was 100 k for 30 minutes.
Barra Exclusiva was the nicest looking strip club in centro but charged 250 k for 45 minutes and the morras weren't that hot.
Casas:
Loutron. All the chicks are 7+ but I'm picky for 400 k per hour. I went about 6 times and always sessioned but never found the 10 Latina that blew me away. Good / great service.
Spa Energy in Laureles. Went twice and girls were mostly average with a handful 7's. Good service and was around 250 k for the 45 min.
Lleras:
Park girls were quoting 400 k for the hour and most wouldn't budge from that even when it was getting late. TBH not a lot of baddies standing in the park but could be found after a few laps. Will say I got one girl to go for 300 k and she ended up staying with me til middle of the day the next morning.
Gusto. Went around 5 times looking for a 9-10 but honestly left pissed off or had mid experiences here. Went during prime time on Fridays / Saturdays and it was packed with tricks / baddies. Problem was it felt hard to compete as a solo dude and am a bit shy. All the hottest girls would gravitate towards the VIP tables in the sides of the club where large groups of men would pay for bottles and to sit in that area. Or the other tables with groups of 2–3 guys. I was by the bar area and couldn't see any morras near the bar worth the $200 per hour they were asking for. Quoted me $300-350 dollars for all night. Again most girls wouldn't lower their rate when I tried negotiating. I did go with a $300 all night that wasn't worth it and other nights just left disappointed.
Monte Carlo? - think this is the name but it's the club next to glow. Had two bullshit experiences here. One time left with a girl who was a psycho when we got to my hotel. I was too drunk but I remember she was crying / whining about how I should pay her more and her situation blah blah blah. She stole a bottle of guaro, about 20 joints of weed I had, and like $300 cash. Bad night.
Another time I was there just partying / drinking with two hoes and buying them a couple coctails. Think it was about 15 drinks total between all of us. I fucked up by keeping a tab and paying at the end because the fuckin club charged me like $400. I knew it was like double what it should've been so I just left pissed off.
Strip clubs:
La Isla- had a really bad experience here my last trip that I wrote about but decided to give another shot. Again was kinda a let down. Get there on a weekday night and buy a bucket 6 Heinekens so I can sit at a table. Immediately like 20 morras swarm me asking for tips for their dances, when I just arrived so obviously didn't see their dance. And 2 asked for a beer and I assumed they'the sit with me but they just took the beer and fuckin walked off. Anyways wasn't really impressed by any of them and just gave them 2-10 k to touch on them for a bit. Eventually got frustrated by them all swarming me so told them to fuck off LOL. Then as I kept drinking one caught my eye eventually (not as hot up close) but I went with her because it was 2:30 and place closed at 4. (I'll explain why that's relevant when I talk about Fase Dos). 600 k for 45 minutes and was above average service but just didn't seem worth it. Anyways I leave as the place is closing and my ADHD took me on a wild foolish adventure. I got on well with the young cab driver who was taking me home so instead I told him I'll buy him a ***** and let's go tag team a couple of chimbas parcero. We go to lleras at 5 am but place is dead so we go to centro to find some cheap club girls. Too embarrassed to say details but the night ended up going til 1 pm the next day and involved Tusi, cocaine, and a sick stomach.
Fase Dos. Went once on weeknight and sit by the bar. Again most of the hot girls are focusing on the groups of dudes sitting at tables with bottles and all the uglies / old girls by the bar. So I wait til this baddie is walking around for her dance tips and tell her I want to go to the room w her. She says I'll come back after I get my tips. Share a couple drinks and we go. 400 k for 45 min, I tell her I liked this other girl there and turns out it's her cousin (lies? She says I'll introduce you. We go back to the club area and she immediately ignores me to go w her cousin to go do a threesome with a colombiano (based on accent as he and his crew went to pay for a bunch of bitches to go with). Now I'm pissed off and wait around drinking and chatting to another morra because I'm finna get what I want. So they come out and first girl (Elizabet) looks guilty trying avoid eye contact. I tell her cousin Melissa lets go to the room now. It's like 3:30 so 30 min before closing time and I pay for 45 min. But we go to the room and I shit you not after 20 minutes they were knocking on the door. They said it's some bullshit rule they clear all the rooms at closing time but still charged me full price. I got both these morras numbers because they were hot as shit, (8-9) looks wise to me, but was enraged towards the club and girls on the cab ride home. Anyways had some fun with these chicks other nights. Sessioned with both separately in hotel and kept Elizabet in my bed 5 hours. Then towards end of trip I paid each $250 to chill all night (6 ish) hours and we went to a fun discoteca Dulcinea then did the trio after. Felt like a G in the disco with two chimbitas on my arms. Luna Lunera:
My personal favorite, in terms of value and experience. Went 3 times. 325 k for 45 min. I'the say most of the girls are average but there's always those 2 or 3 standouts. First night drank with sweet girl then went to room. Think it was like 250 k for 6 beers.
2nd time show up late and see my amiga from first night. Talk and share a couple beers. See this local with 2 girls but he leaves eventually and I tell my amiga to get one of the girls since she was a hottie. I just did 3 nights in MDE. Stayed at Sites Hotel which is a 10 minute walk south of Parque Lleras. The place was fine and allowed guests. I would have rather used the same AirBnB as before but it was taken. Airfare was 50% higher than in October. Everyone wants to see the Christmas lights along the river I guess.

I won't get into too many details and just get straight to the point. So what started as just me and my girlfriend has now expanded into my girlfriend and some of her friends and her sisters friends and now I'm up to about 9 people and we all need a place to meet for a group session. I'm having a very difficult time finding a place for this encounter to occur. My girlfriends apartment is too small for such a thing to occur so it would need to be elsewhere. Does anyone have any good ideas here? I'm stuck. I don't see a hotel that would allow so many visitors.AirBnb in the countryside if you can get outside the city, especially if it is for a weekend. As you probably know, Colombians often vacation with the whole family, so there are a LOT of options at all sorts of price levels and features. Finding anything like that in the city is difficult, as you have already found out.

I see the issue of finding a life partner in Colombia as an individual thing. What applies to one gent will not necessarily apply to another. Nevertheless, my experience in Colombia is that there are many options among non pros but you need to be able to speak Spanish.Well stated and succinct. Between the nature of this forum and the dynamic of MDE, it comes as NO surprise you get a lot of negative responses to it here.
I have seen many great relationships occur between Colombiana and foreigners. However, they all have been with non-Paisas. Those with Paisas (in MDE or elsewhere) have ended badly. Which only reinforces my stereotype of Paisas.
You lost me until you mentioned the language barrier. I thought you were writing about Colombians based on living here long term. It made no sense and then I realized you were making an observation about foreigners. That observation more than makes sense, it is dead obvious even allowing our group's strong disinclination toward marriage in general. Colombians and other latinos are in fact socially conservative, family oriented and favor long term primary relationships. This of course excludes the subculture of urban prepagos and their dodgy social circles that we rub elbows with. You definitely don't want to marry into any of that. Keep in mind we frequent a subculture. It's very different from the Colombians I worked with who know only enough about them to avoid them like the plague. For example, years ago Parque Lleras was a place to take the family for Sunday night dinner. You all know the rest.

Out of all the Latin American countries I've been to Colombians, especially Paisas are the biggest liars I've ever met. And it's due to the legacy of Pablo Escobar. Even decades after his death, he's left a deep cultural imprint of criminality. The locals call it "cultura traqueta." Women here, although many have been taken on to more lavish trips by the age of 22 than you will ever go to, have never lived in another country. They don't know that cheating on their boyfriend is as bad as it is because it's so normalized in their culture. I've slept with so many Colombian women that have boyfriends who they really loved and they didn't feel guilty.
Men who come to this country looking for wives are men who really don't understand the culture at all. Once these women have had a taste of the fast money of selling their bodies, a guy who wants her to stay home and cook will sound like a horrible proposition. Most Paisas don't want to leave the country, don't want to be your husband because marriage isn't even a strong institution in the culture and they don't want to be married to a foreigner unless they're 35+ and they've had a lot of financial hardship in their life. They just want your money and they want to party in Medellin. They will lie, cheat, and steal in order to do that.

There are a couple airbnbs I've used around poblado with no issues. None of these options are cheap tho.

I can dig it, brah! I have never been to Manizales. I've been to Pereira, though, and had a decent time.I went to Manizales in August. The van ticket from Pereira was 17,000 pesos and took a little over 1 hour if I remember correctly. The Indrive from the airport in Pereira to the bus station was 10,000 pesos. Manizales is a beautiful city and had good weather when I was there. It is in the mountains and everything is built on hills. I was told the flights there are limited because it rains a lot, which makes the airport flood and closes it down anyway. Looks like a great place to live if you have a lady or family. Excellent food too.

Rainy season can be dry and dry season can be rainy. It is never THAT intense for too long, so just bring a light waterproof jacket (like those light waterproof jackets they make for joggers) and you are fine. Sometimes if it rains 5-7 PM that can thin out the evening, but that's it.

I found the area really noisy all night and difficult to sleep.It is definitely very noisy. When I stayed in San Peter Suites it was on a top floor and the noise from La 70 was still loud like the windows were paper thin. It's much safer than Medellin and you don't have to worry when it's late at night and the street is isolated. There are no stories of girls drugging and robbing you. This was the shortest and worst trip to Medellin that I have. It was my 12th trip and things came up and forgot to post. I found it while setting up a new laptop. Some folks find them useful and a couple new things came up. So, I will post what happened.
Day 1.
I am coming from west coast SFO. I have tried a few airlines that service Colombia / MDE. My first few trips were with Avianca. I don't like them poor seats, food service and entertainment are poor. The only upside flying Avianca is that it lands into Bogota / BOG. I find that going through customs on "Legacy" or country's leading airline much easier. They go through much of the red tape when you are checking in. It's been 3 years since I have used them. The other airline I used was American. The only benefit I got from therm is that I didn't have schlep up to SFO a 40 minute drive. Instead, It was a 10 minute Uber ride and I could leave my car at home. I also preferred MIA over FLL but that's all. These folks at American overbook on purpose. If you have all of the time in the world upon return you can get flight credits easily. Otherwise, they were always late when returning home. It didn't make sense that MIA was down but FLL was clear for JetBlue.
I settled on JetBlue and have made it to the Mosaic status. They are not even in the ballpark compared to Saudia Airlines.
To make a long story short I missed my 10:30 pm flight. I got a message at 2 pm that my flight would be delayed until 11 pm. Two hors later it was set back to midnight. I did not want to hang out in crappy $3. 30 for a can of soda SFO airport. I got there at 10 pm and could not print my ticket. The problem: the flight was boarding since 10 pm.
Day 2.
Having missed my flight and a full day in Medellin I arrived at the airport MDE and lost my CPAP machine while collecting my luggage. It only took me 10 minutes to get through immigration / customs but I was so stressed. That is what ruined my trip. I was not able to sleep without my machine. I was too tired and off to fuck. The reason that I was there.
I usually see 4 to 5 women at my Airbnb in Laureles. There are 2 places I reserve (No, I won't tell you where!

Overall between Medellin and Pattaya which city would you rate over the other?MoonShot. You start out a comparison with football? WTF!
This is an overall average comparison. Pattaya the girls are more expensive and older. The food everywhere is so much better. Hotels are a little cheaper and cleaner. Much safer. It is a 24 hour city and the only thing to really rarely worry about are drunks which you just stay clear of because they are easy to spot. They have a nice walking sidewalk along the beach. If you like to drink with the guys and really relax then this place is great because you can walk around drunk and not worry about getting robbed or killed like Medellin.
There are 2 bars and a few more if you are in the know. You sit at the bar / stage. Careful the girls do not kick your drink. Girls are dancing right there above you. This was 7 years ago when I went in there. The guy next to me chats the girl dancing above him and she sits down in front of him. She spreads her legs and scoots up close and personal with her legs over his shoulders. He then proceeds to eat her out for 15 minutes or more in front of everyone. Then a table behind me a guy was doing the same thing.

When I was posting about Thailand, someone said a WTF why start with football? The answer is it's a significant difference here in Thailand. I find myself missing games because I don't want to stay up in the middle of the night to watch football games. In Medellin, the times are the same so it just makes it much easier to watch football games. If you are a big football fan, this is actually a significant factor.
I also like to trade stocks in the US stock market and once again the time differences make a difference. In Medellin I can monitor the stock market and make trades during normal hours just like in the United States. Here in Thailand, the stock market opens at 9:30 pm And ends at 4:00 am I find it difficult too trade toward the end of the session so I'm just making trades in the beginning of the stock market which isn't ideal.
So for me, the time differences is a significant factor when it comes to the different countries.

Woman Robs Tourists Using "Devil's Breath," A Memory Erasing Drug.
Medellin, Colombia.
A woman accused of robbing tourists with a memory-erasing drug known as Devil's Breath has been arrested by police.
Carolina Meija Montoya, 27, had been dubbed the "Queen of Scopolamine" by police in Medellin, named after the drug she incapacitated her alleged victims with.
Most of the 8 crimes she has been accused of involved foreign tourists. Investigators say she targeted men in a park in the upmarket neighborhood of Medellin famed for its sex tourism called El Poblado. She then invited them to drinks she spiked in hotels and apartments before stealing their belongings while they were unconscious.
The drug she allegedly used is mainly produced in Colombia and comes from the seeds of the borrachero tree. Devil's Breath, also known as burundanga, comes as a fine white powder which is blown into the victim's face or used to spike food or drinks and renders people helpless within minutes.
It disappears from the bloodstream in around 4 hours, meaning it often becomes untraceable before a victim has had time to be tested. In high doses it can be lethal.
Montoya is suspected of making up to £30,000 from each of her alleged crimes. She has been described as one of the leaders of crime gang La Marina, which specialized in drink spiking thefts.
3 alleged accomplices were arrested during police raids in May but she escaped, abandoning a child who was subsequently taken into care. A spokesman for Valle de Aburra Metropolitan Police, which covers Medellin, confirmed overnight, "A woman known as the Queen of Scopolamine has been arrested in Medellin. This 27-year-old woman is allegedly involved in at least 8 cases of theft using chemical substances. "
It also released footage of officers taking her into custody in a leather dress in handcuffs, and a woman thought to be Montoya entering a residential property with a suspected accomplice and one of their alleged victims.

Gringos have ruined Medellin just like everywhere they have invaded.It is not that bad at all. Sometimes people want to compare a place to the way it was in the past but it is what it is. A place can be less desirable than in the past but still enjoyable. Due to YouTube and the Internet, more people are traveling and more men are mongering. Now you can see that as gringos invading a country and making it worse or you can see it as men discovering a place where they can enjoy themselves and having fun.
I enjoy visiting Medellin and will return again. At the same time, things do change and you need to adjust. Somethings that means instead of going to the bars, you go online instead. Or it could just be visitng the country but changing to a different city and starting over.
As some have said, Medellin getting too crowded for you, go to Bogota or Cali or any other city in Colombia where there are less gringos.
As for me, the more men decide to move on from Medellin, the better it is for me. Guys being drugged. Women asking too much money. Robberies on the street. Crime up against gringos. I say stay away so I can continue to enjoy Medellin.
