CheckMig collected information but there were programming errors that were easily fixable and it didn't function or was down way too often. Could probably get some high school kids in the USA to design an app that correctly translates into different languages, collects the information and doesn't always crash.
There seems to be competing objectives between not wanting to make entry by foreigners a quicker and easier process versus wanting more tourist revenue for the country.
All the most infamous cases are in the story. I hadn't heard about the Divencezo case in probably two years. The new angle are social media and share apps. Yesterday was a bad day for the public affairs departments of those Silicone Valley companies. They have much too much money to face any significant problems in Colombia. If anyone still wonders why border agents are asking to see social media, this is the reason. We can thank the youtube guys dand the infamous passport bros for this.

Hey guys I'll be coming back to Medellin from September 5 - 13 but this time solo. Last time I came I stuck exclusively with Loutron and La Celestina to see girls so I'll prob do the same or end up going to Luna strip club also. This place is fantastic. I was there twice last week and had sessions with Valery and Lorena. I have many young female acquaintances in Medellin who still provide what I want for under 300 mil, but I have communicated with new ones who want 4-500 mil. One quoted one million pesos. I stayed in Nutibara end of October / early November 2024 and yes, they took the girl's ID, made a copy, a notation in a notebook and then we went to the room.
The ID was returned when we went back downstairs to leave, this makes sure you're ok and no problems.
I haven't looked in or stayed at the Mandala, so I can't comment on that one.
Nutibara is a nice, albeit dated, hotel and I would definitely pay the $10-15 more a night to get the Superior Double Room with Terrace because you get a walkout onto the rooftop, with fences separating your room's part of the terrace from others. It's really a spectacular view, but especially at night.
On top of that I found the personnel to be super nice, very helpful, and the breakfast was just mas o menos, but since it's included, I always ate there.

A lot of these guys come down to Medellin and all they ever know is Poblado and parque Lleras. They are afraid to go to Centro and Bello or barrios like Aranjuez, Popular, and Santo Domingo yet they speak as if they are experts based on what a few hookers in parque Lleras' asking prices.
Not only that, but these guys also never go to the real towns of Colombia where you can find quality women at much lower prices, places like Pereira Armenia and Villavicencio outside of Bogota or even Cucuta on the border when Venezuela. Hotel is a convenient one to stay.Hotel Casa Real (not to be confused with hotel calle real) is a cheap hotel in Centro located close to an exito and close enough to walk to Plaza Botero and Parque Berrio areas. Lots of good cheap restaurants nearby as well. I used to stay there before I got my apartment. At the time it was 28 k COP per night. Hotel is girl friendly and charges a small 6 k fee per guest.
It's located on el palo con el huevo. That's carrera 45 #46-09.

I was charged no fee, but it was around 6 PM. I remember hearing that they charge a fee after 6 or 7 PM, but I can't say how much it was since I only ever took girls to the room during the afternoon.

I didn't ask, but should have, about the cost after 7 PM or whenever time the cutoff is, but even then it's supposed to be reasonable.
Now, that said, I have wandered Lleras on a Sunday afternoon last October and had quite a few good choices wandering around. Not nearly as many as after dark when ALL the girls come out, but there were more than a handful that were to my liking, plus fewer other customers, so the rates were good. Had a nice mocha complected one that I took back for 2+ hours to my hotel for only $200 k. Very nice service, she even fell asleep after we'd finished the deal, so sweet.
Anyway, I digress. Basically the Nutibara is a decently nice, very reasonably priced hotel right across the street from all the Botero craziness.

Hotel Casa Real (not to be confused with hotel calle real) is a cheap hotel in Centro located close to an exito and close enough to walk to Plaza Botero and Parque Berrio areas. Lots of good cheap restaurants nearby as well. I used to stay there before I got my apartment. At the time it was 28 k COP per night. Hotel is girl friendly and charges a small 6 k fee per guest.
It's located on el palo con el huevo. That's carrera 45 #46-09.

I've stayed at the Nutibara a bunch of times. You'll occasionally see them treating for pests. I didn't see any roaches when I've stayed there. The higher up in the building you are the better off you are. The lower floors are definitely target a different clientele, more local. For some reason I got the impression that at one point you had outpatient recovery on some of the lower floors even. They're nice basic rooms.
The rooms I've stayed in were very loud. If you wanted to turn in early, you really couldn't with the music from the clubs below blasting. They shut off promptly at closing time though.
The area was on the rougher side, like on the edge of barely acceptable by my standards. Walking past panhandlers, homeless, and druggies while entering or exiting the hotel was pretty common place. I never felt terribly unsafe walking to or from the hotel, even from the nearby strip clubs well after midnight.
That all said, it's right in El Centro. I really enjoy the location personally and think that more than makes up for its downsides. If you like El Centro, the action, the clubs, and the nearby casas, it's a great hotel to stay in. If you're more of a Parque Lleras or Gustos type guy, I wouldn't recommend it.

One reasonable alternative would be to stay at the San Peter.San Peter Suites is ok but be prepared for all the street noise and music blasting from La 70. You can even hear it from the upper floors. Also it is only a stones throw away from the Exito which is convenient. Lot of chicas work out of the La 70 area in Laureles. It's a party strip with lots of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. You can also catch a Chiva Rumba there for a few hours of fun with the locals. A metro station is not that far away.

I brought a guest there one time and she only had a Venezuelan ID, and they would not accept that.A few footnotes to the recent references to the San Peter Apartments (and its first floor Medellin Sports Bar) as a partial replacement for the sadly departed Mansion in Poblado.
As many have commented over the years on this thread (but not mentioned in the recent posts), the one big knock on the San Peter as a place to bed down is the noise level in the apartments from the discos on Carrera 70 (the La Setenta entertainment strip) below, causing many mongers to move out and seek shelter elsewhere, despite the girl-friendly service, good security, and nice location.
As others have noted, the sports bar is small, bordering on the miniscule. Last year, Joe (the owner) was promoting it as somewhat of a Mansion bar-style pick-up joint, with Ladies Night on Fridays and promotional events such as wet tee-shirt contests.
However, since I've been back here in January, he's dropped all such events and seems to be operating the place just as a combo sports bar and one-table casino (blackjack or Texas Holdem most every night).
Many evenings one will still find a few chicas hanging out at the bar, but at most only two to four--so its no longer all that fruitful as a Mansion-replacement, mongering venue (if it ever was).
In respect to getting Venezuelan chicas past reception, they do accept Venezuelan passports even if their dates of validity have expired.

A buddy and I spent three days in Medellin entertaining Facebook girls in the afternoon and pulling from Lleras at night. The apartment was just a block off the park, convenient but also very noisy. After picking up snacks and libations, we'd warm the girls up in the hot tub, which was on a private patio, then bring them inside for banging. I know Hotel Nutibara is old and not the best hotel we like to stay in Medellin but if you like mongering in El Centro Parque Berrio, I think it's the best hotel! You can bring your girls without any problem during the day. And in the evening, the guy from the reception just ask the ID of the girl and let you go your room without any problem. I was there 4 nights and I din't get any problem. The breakfast is not the best but is OK! I paid only 31 Euros / night. And for the room, I suggest you to ask the room 811. It's the best room of the hotel.

While many mongers are quiet and do their business in a fair, discreet way, there is a very sizable portion that does not. Ignoring the obvious pedophiles and others who are actively trying to engage in criminal activities, mongering also brings a certain breed of men to sex-friendly areas. You get a lot of bros coming in packs to be loud, boisterous, and disrespectful to the women and locals. Drunk, party bro attitudes tend to lead to more fights and general bad behavior. You get a lot of old-heads who exclusively push the line of legality by hunting for 18-year-olds, which is generally problematic since it incentives underage trafficking in the community. Overall, it's kind of a race to the bottom if you don't put restrictions in place. In my many years of doing this, even with restrictions, I've never had a problem mongering since I, and most mongers, are/am the ideal traveler for government; a gringo who peacefully comes to inject (hehe) money into their economy.
Unless a country is willing to go all in and accept that kind of profile and create boisterous zones, or even cities, where the community looks the other way (for example, Bangkok / Pattaya), it will always be a fight to keep mongers in check. Hispanic countries, in particular, due to religion will never be so open to just allow out and open acceptance of the sex trade.

Review recapping two trips I have made to Medellin in April 2024 and again in late January 2025. I am going again in April. For context, I am 30 middle eastern with 0 Spanish.

Also the store was open at 3 am on the 2nd trip on a Wednesday / Thursday so looks like it's open 24 hours too. ATMs are around here as well. Open a Fidelity or Schwab checking account to get all ATM fees refunded. Make sure to decline the conversation rate when prompted on the screen. Outside the airport on the first floor, are official white taxis to take you where you need to go. They charged me 130 k late at night but I recall it being like 110 k on my first trip. While they are safe and official, we really should be taking the bus. For me personally there is something about putting all my trust into a taxi driver that I still don't like. I used Uber to get around everywhere else not the airport, get in the front seat so you look like a friend being picked up.
Housing:
I stayed in San Peter both times in Laureles. It is located on a busy street called la 70 which is a long street full of clubs and restaurants. Felt safe walking around. I stayed in room 302 both times, not by choice. This room sucks. Hot water doesn't work well at all, tiny bathroom, and the toilet on the 2nd trip had stains that bleach couldn't remove. They also require 300 k security deposit when not booked through airbnb which you get back as you leave which you can't spend except at the airport since you're literally leaving. And you simply need to tell them not to use it + just buy some simple snacks or some shit. As an example from my last trip to Medellin in November 2024:
Plaza Botero girls. All right around $40 k for a short time, plus room, or $50 k-60 k for short time and they paid the room, but either way, figure $60 k for 20 minutes in a short time room across from the church. If you convert that into an hourly rate, you're looking at $180 k, since the room charge is for each short time visit. Perhaps the girl would go cheaper for the second or third extension, but in practice I've generally paid an additional $40 k, but sometimes less, just depends. So figure, round numbers, $180-200 k for a solid hour of chica time.
Parque Lleras. Also November 2024 - each and every girl was $200 k or below, but never lower than $150 k and each gave well over an hour, with several of them going to 2 hours, but that was generally the cutoff.
If you just compare the 2 at face value, you're thinking $40 k + room = $60 k which is way better than $200 k. But is it?
Personally, I'd pay the $200 k and get the girl for a full 2 hours (always negotiate this, plus additional pops if you think you can do it) and then compare to an equivalent short time girl rate and often the longer term Parque Lleras price is better.

FWIW, from a purely sexual and dollar POV, hookers were a better value. Hey all, I'll be in Medellin from this Saturday the 12th through Monday the 21st. I'll be staying close to Parque Lleras, just because I like that area more than Botero, but will be heading to Botero probably late morning to mid-afternoon every day because I am after all an "el centro hoodrat".
All this to say, I'll confirm prices that I am offered and what I can negotiate when I'm there.
I also will say that this whole discussion of price oftentimes devolves into apples v. Oranges comparisons. I try to convert pricing into an equivalent time period to get a better understanding of where things stand.
As an example from my last trip to Medellin in November 2024:
Plaza Botero girls. All right around $40 k for a short time, plus room, or $50 k-60 k for short time and they paid the room, but either way, figure $60 k for 20 minutes in a short time room across from the church. If you convert that into an hourly rate, you're looking at $180 k, since the room charge is for each short time visit. Perhaps the girl would go cheaper for the second or third extension, but in practice I've generally paid an additional $40 k, but sometimes less, just depends. So figure, round numbers, $180-200 k for a solid hour of chica time.
Parque Lleras. Also November 2024 - each and every girl was $200 k or below, but never lower than $150 k and each gave well over an hour, with several of them going to 2 hours, but that was generally the cutoff.One of the problems at Botero is that there have been a few gringos hanging around Veracruz area since the time of covid, and locals and working girls dislike and deride them. The only problem I ever had was once in Frankfurt, Germany when I was shopping for stuff for people back home and got careless and rested my bag on the ground to take photos. Been exploring Colombia for decades, yes you read that right for Decades and living 10 plus years in Medellin so over these years I have forgotten more than what most people including local Colombian know about Colombia including the chicas from every region / department in Colombia.
Having never been to Thailand but have spent enough time in the Philippines to know that simply put Asian girls just don't do it for me, great to have fun with but really nothing special, thin with no beautiful rear ends like here in Latin America, 99.89% with no breast, zero personality, zero charm or playfulness, I guess the proverbial "To each his own" applies here, the Paisa "cuteness factor" can be off the charts, simply incredible.
Certainly I would never ever consider living full time in any Asian countries such as Thailand, no thanks, my gawd I am spoiled in Colombia, the sweetest most charming Paisas that I have encountered in my life, sensual / charming / playful / flirty / sexy / girl next door types / etc. Yes they are hard to find but dang once you click with one or two, I have many over the past decade, you will never look back.
So you all can stick to "safe" but for myself and a handful of others, just a few out of a hundred thousand, just a bit of street smarts and measured reasonableness in living and playing (no drinking, no drugs, no risky behaviors) and learning Spanish, well the world will open up for you.

I see the immigration lines being posted almost daily. People are waiting 3-4 hours for entry; the majority being men coming down to throw around money without a care in the world. Due to social media, Paisa girls now all see the lucky ones that take off to Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Dubai, etc. They can sit at home and be on OF instead of out on the prowl. Many stick to their hotter friend's price she got one time from some idiot on his first trip. Parque Llleras is almost embarrassing, at this point.
I'm sure most have an opinion, but I am specifically hoping to hear from some of the fellas that have seen a once-great destination turn into the dumps.
Speaking of the immigration line, the government could make a boat load with an express line; even if you had to pre-register. I'm actually shocked that the shift supervisor doesn't just make one a couple times a day and pay off his crew to keep quiet.

OldKool you have been stomping around this yard for awhile. You should know how to move abroad even if it is an unfamiliar locale. It shouldn't be difficult to navigate but instead an adventure or maybe in your case, a challenge with some added anxiety. My first time to Colombia (that's Colombia with an "o") was a solo trip to Cartagena. As a matter of fact, I have never traveled to Colombia with anyone or met up with anyone. I don't care about that or where the Gringos are at. All solo trips and to date I have been to 17 different cities in Colombia over the years. It's a great thing to experience and my opinion it's way better than the DR, hands down. I've been there done that and there is no comparison to me.

What is your method of calculating how much most men are spending in Medellin? I just spend what I want to spend and I don't worry about what others are spending. No sense worrying about things out of your control.

If I'm with a girl I like but I don't want to take her out to dinner for various reasons, usually too young, but she wants to hang out and order rappi I will do that. I stopped going to CR for mongering in 2016 because the quality of women in Medellin was better than in San Jose. I've been back to San Jose a few times for dental work, but I'm finished with CR dentists now. I started seeing major changes in the Medellin women at least a year ago. I think there is no longer an abundance of young, slim, attractive women. Most of the new women now want 300 to 500 mil pesos plus taxis and require the use of a condom. It's rare I find an attractive young woman on Facebook. Speaking of Facebook, there is something weird going on there. I've been in Medellin two weeks during this trip. I haven't posted anything on Facebook to indicate I'm in Medellin. I've been getting multiple Facebook friend requests every day. A few days ago, I received 24 requests in one day. Most of the women are unattractive or have locked their profiles. Some of the ones I think are attractive, I accept their request and send them a message thanking them for inviting me to be their friend. Nothing else in my message, but many don't respond. I just checked, and today I've received 13 requests and it's not yet 1:30 pm. I still have Facebook friends from the past who are happy with 250 mil pesos.
In my opinion, San Jose is now a wasteland for mongering. I was there for a week early last year, for dental work, and wasn't with any chicas.
I don't think Medellin has turned into a dump. There are still many young, attractive women available at a good price and provide very good service. They're just not as young as they used to be.

I go thru the Colombian line and wait 5 minutes, so I'm not bitching about it from my perspective, just wondering if some guys noticed these type of things in the downfall stage of other destinations. Every place has it's Golden Age, and my point/question is whether or not the veterans that know both Medellin and another former glorious location are seeing indications similar to what they witnessed in the past before the prime years ended. For example, I have a buddy who used to fly from USA to Rio de Janeiro for 24 hours. (Club) Help was legendary. My first trip was just after Help closed. I still loved it there. I continue to go back, but it's much further away and I don't speak much Portuguese. I heard about the heyday in Costa Rica or Venezuela or Romania. For me, I can't stand places like Pattaya or Angeles City. I enjoy walking the path before it turns into a highway. What I see now in Medellin is all these influencers that don't know shit about the city or the culture posting as if they do, groups of 8-10 guys going to La Isla and throwing around Monopoly money. Guys coming with sandals, shorts, chains, Rolexes, etc. And being robbed by some ugly chick. I'm just wondering if others with more experience are seeing anything that makes them think this could be headed in the wrong direction with no chance of return. I personally know guys that offer 100 dollars for what I would say is an average chick. My first trips to Colombia, girls couldn't just get a passport and skip town to Madrid or Dubai to make Euros. Girls didn't go on social media and see hundreds of Paisas living the life in other countries or independent peers living in their new apartment they bought with OF money. The expectations are much higher and I feel there has been a power shift towards the favor of the Paisas. Times have changed, times will continue to change, but I want to be on my toes and try to find the next Medellin before Medellin becomes the next San Jose. I could be jaded, I admit that. I was paying 100-150 COP during the pandemic to non-hardcore beautiful fun young chicks. I see them now, and they are 25yo and have been to 5-6 countries, and their prices are ridiculous. They are not the brightest bulbs. A girl with photos in Dubai, London, Madrid, Tulum, and Rio de Janeiro on her profile does not excite me. I know how to do the math and I know what her history likely is. I have been with dozens upon dozens of Paisas for free, so when some Facebook chick says 600k or an "influencer" says 1 million, or a Lleras girl says 400k, I just wonder if the window is closing on the great times. There will still be good times, no doubt. I have buddies here with 2-3 girls going in and out every day, and they are loving their lives. However, they are new here. I get it. I also have some older buddies with local normal girlfriends; they are happy. I guess I am more prone to staying on the hunt and not being stagnant. But if you are just going to el Poblado then you will find the rip off artists that are targeting the gringo tourists. Centro may still have cheap sex but mostly Venecas not Paisas and I don't think it's as good as it used to be.
There's seems to be two parallel markets evolving in medallo, one geared toward the weekend warriors and one geared toward the locals. You will just have to know in which pond to go fishing to find what you're looking for, you don't go to Cancun to catch your king salmon.

The biggest one is Lujuria Swinger Club, and another popular one is Club LifeStyle Swinger. There are others as well. You will find that the biggest crowds are on Friday and Saturday nights (especially Saturday), but those are typically couples-only nights. Therefore, you will want to bring a girl (which I recommend anyways). All the clubs also have nights for single guys, known as "gang bang nights," where they hire a couple of girls and single guys pay to participate. These nights are usually on slower nights and vary by club. However, from a "viewing" perspective, I find that Colombia swinger clubs are more laid-back and have less hardcore action compared to European or American swinger clubs. So, your viewing experience may vary.

62 is the minimum age for the Metro senior citizen fare. I'm guessing it doesn't cost the Metro much because there can't be many people that age who could survive the rush hour crush.

I think it's hit the 'mainstream' which is making the supply / demand curves fluctuate in a way that is bad for old timers. The issue is, if you're unable to speak to the locals properly you'll get priced out or the quality drops. Or even worse, as you say the paisa's get very confident with their prices and it's bad for everyone (including them, as they're not always at capacity either). What's up everyone! Hope to meet some of you during my trip May 3rd through May 10th. I'll be staying at Haven Hotel. I'm already busy trying to make contacts with Chicas on Seeking, FB, and Bumble. Hey Mike I am in Medellin now for a few weeks I'm in go living suites across from Santa Fe. I have been coming for 20 years now.
