In case you get sick with Covid-19 while visiting the island, you will be covered by the government: https://traveltomorrow.eu/dominican-republic-offers-travelers-free-covid-19-insurance/.I'm not being facetious the DR shows they value tourists. This guy, in the Cali section, said that they let him through even though his test was 1 day over the 96 hour window.

In case you get sick with Covid-19 while visiting the island, you will be covered by the government: https://traveltomorrow.eu/dominican-republic-offers-travelers-free-covid-19-insurance/.Very few of the patrons on this forum go to the kind of places where such insurance will provide cover. So I suggest you also make it clear that there might be a caveat: my understanding is that only those that stay in places like AI hotels and resorts, are likely to be the beneficiaries in case of such an eventuality. It is not a blanket coverage.
Emergency in the country may be extended for another 45 days from the next week, so up to about December 2, 2020. We will know soon for sure. As for insurance coverage, now try to get your individual from your country of origin with direct payment to the best provider and an option to airlift you home if in stable condition.
I'm starting to get anxious guys! We are already talking about a third wave of the virus. Chaos in Europe and America. But where is China in all this?

I suggest that everyone travelling to the DR get trip medical insurance from AMERICAN EXPRESS. Only $32 for a million dollar policy which also pays for you to get medevaced by private plane if the shit really hits the fan. You do not have to have an Amex Card to purchase it. Safe traveling.

I traveled to DR last month and can appreciate that they kept their borders open and with little / no criteria to enter. It was a piece of heaven in the middle of draconian American lockdowns.
For Colombia, they've turned folks away for any number of things. Thailand is closed. But Brazil is open and I need to try it.

I'm starting to get anxious guys! We are already talking about a third wave of the virus. Chaos in Europe and America. But where is China in all this? The Bush telegraph (China's diaspora) says China is doing well in containing the virus.
I'm starting to get anxious guys! We are already talking about a third wave of the virus. Chaos in Europe and America. But where is China in all this?China continues to have problems with the virus. The city of Quingdao (9 million) just got shutdown over a new outbreak. China lies a lot. Outbreaks will continue until heard immunity is reached. Lockdowns only slow the process. A vaccine will help.
............China lies a lot. Outbreaks will continue until heard immunity is reached. Lockdowns only slow the process. A vaccine will help.Makes me wonder why did China admit that there was a virus in the first place? If they lie so much why did they tell the world about it and lock down their country letting the whole world know that they did that?
Makes me wonder why did China admit that there was a virus in the first place? If they lie so much why did they tell the world about it and lock down their country letting the whole world know that they did that? They tried to hide it for awhile but even the great firewall has leaks. Then they downplayed it until people started dropping dead in the street in Wuhan. Even today their local news talks about how well they are doing while the government is forced to lockdown city after city. My poor girlfriend in Dalian China thinks I will die at any moment here in the USA because of how bleak the news portrays the situation outside China. Maybe an excellent time to fake my own death. LOL Probably never go back to China.
Makes me wonder why did China admit that there was a virus in the first place? If they lie so much why did they tell the world about it and lock down their country letting the whole world know that they did that?It took them quite a while to admit it. My guess is the government wouldn't have reported it but they had to after the stories filtered out. They do their best to control info, but that's difficult to do in this day and age.
Any "official" news out of China (Covid numbers, GDP numbers, etc) should be taken with a huge grain of salt. Probably true in any country, but goes double or triple in China.
Curfew has been extended for 25 days from October 18,2020 (looks like November 12th); so, the emergency was extended for 45 days, and the curfew as for now for only 25.

I don't think there is any other country in the world that will allow that.

As far as bars and clubs They'll probably look at what Colombia does. Colombia has a real plan with steps to open slowly with things scheduled to get back to normal countrywide on December 1st. If DR tourist numbers stay in the gutter they'll open up fully whether the COVID cases are high or not.
China continues to have problems with the virus. The city of Quingdao (9 million) just got shutdown over a new outbreak. China lies a lot. Outbreaks will continue until heard immunity is reached. Lockdowns only slow the process. A vaccine will help.A vaccine made in China? Grrrrr.

I want your opinion about this. I met this lady a year ago. We had a dinner date and hugs and passionate kissing but no sex. I lost contact for a year until recently. Now she has a girlfriend. The other lady which I haven't met suggested to go to an all inclusive for a couple of days. I said if I get a bargain I am in. I got a good deal so I booked for two nights.
Tonight the other girl asked how many rooms I booked. Is this a gigantic red flag? I believe it is, what do you think? I told them I booked a room with two beds, but now my plan is to cancel, because I have many choices. I like the girls (both are cute) and the idea of being with two real bi girls is tempting but I do not know the other girl and sometimes they have their tricks.

And I bet she will be spending your money well, if she has chance to do so IE: drinks all day by pool, room service, gift shop in hotel and so on and on; I think you did the right thing, way to many other choices, stay safe bud!.

But the red flag for me would be she didn't come across the other time.
So you'd be investing 2 days of your vacation and a bunch of money to see what happens. May work out, but may not!

I am renting but driving the other way. $70 fee to leave the car in Punta Cana, but Uber is showing $60. May just drop the car back at the airport in Santo Domingo and take the Uber. I will search out some drivers once I get on the gound Monday and see how much they will charge.

I'm (65 M) wanting to come to DR for 2 to 6 weeks soon. I will meet some friends in Punta Cana at the end of my trip, but am not interested in staying there until then. Bad back has taken vigorous F*) king off the table for the most part. You have to groom your girls. I am 65 like you and have a great time in the DR. When you fine girls you like break them in so you know what each likes. Most girls I have dealt with have enjoyed toy play and some have been good with their oral skills. The key is when you fine a girl who meets your needs keep her and develope a list of go to girls. It takes time but it is worth it.

Facts: 1200 DOP will buy groceries for a family of four for a week. 1200 DOP will get you a fuck and suck at GBP.
Editorial: Hardly nothing? Not in my book. In my opinion you do yourself a disservice when you do not know the value of things here in DOP. Unless you are making a direct comparison with what something would cost you in another country (hard goods) thinking about what a service should cost compared to another country is a useless exercise. (My opinion).
But what the fuck do I know? I only live here brothers!
1200 is nothing. Its just 22 dollars, barely enough for one day expense for them.

After we go grocery shopping (with or without chicas) you can write a report containing the information that you are seeking. You will then have the facts to know if Subcmdr knows what he is talking about.
You all realize that we had this discussion in my user blog almost five years ago when when one of my detractors jumped off beating his chest in a about my post about how much food can 1000 pesos buy. Then Frannie (what happened to that MFer?) jumped in and and I broke it off in HIS ass most eloquently. So here we are again. If you choose to throw up some weak shit. Prepare to have it be rejected. Over time I've learned to require my detractors to put some skin in the game. Take some time out of your monger schedule and put a little more effort into your "Subcmdr don't know what he is doing" game.
That being said, the basket of goods needs to be agreed upon beforehand. The agreed upon basket of goods will be what we will go shopping for together. Or if you are determined to stay in front of your screen and on your keyboard you can go shopping for the agreed upon basket of goods yourself and report back here.

Tell me people, if someone is supporting a family of four on a monthly minimum wage of 12,872 DOP a month, can they actually spend 1200 DOP a week on groceries? That is 4800 DOP a month. And that would equate to 37% of their monthly income. No heavy lifting on that one, I did the math for you!

I shall await your PM or please post on the results of your shopping trip (in the DR of course). But, I would actually prefer reading about your trip to GBP to let me know if my 1200 DOP figure was right and how you enjoyed your visit. But, from what I have read up in here I can see that some of you are not really interested in how much pussy costs. Those must be the famous PUAs that post up in here about all the "free" pussy they are getting. They are the ones concerned about how much money chicas are spending on them when they cook you dinner at their home. You come over, eat, fuck and walk out without having spent a peso. Then you post up about here. Yeah brother, you the man! So, let's skip the casas and go grocery shopping, shall we? LOL!
You are all welcome very much. But what the fuck do I know? I only live here. How many years now? Nah, won't go there. It wouldn't nor has it made any difference in the attitudes of the usual suspects posting up in here. They will not give up on the idea I don't know what I am doing (of course I do). It would give them too much intellectual discomfort.
I go hard in the (expletive deleted) paint. Basketball court; Tennis Court; Paint brush; Roller. LOL!
Sounds like you are living the dream in the DR! Unfortunately I only visit once per month so I am far from an expert on the living costs but I know it's a lot less than the USA. To this point I've been staying in a hotel that has a La Sirena directly across the street. I will take a look next week. I want to try an Airbnb in the near future so I'll need to buy groceries.
So is it better to buy a small place or long term rent in the DR? What is the market like these days? I'm not rich by any means but I'm not broke either.

Sounds like you are living the dream in the DR!StrawHat Life is good for me in Republica Dominicana. Not a dream. But a good life. A friend told me (one that actually has nothing to do with ISG nor wants too) before I moved here that you can build whatever life you wish for yourself here. He was right! And I have.
Unfortunately I only visit once per month so I am far from an expert on the living costs but I know it's a lot less than the USA.I am not a expert on living costs in Republica Dominicana. I am a expert on my living costs. I know the purchasing power of DOP. And I know the costs of the goods and services I like to purchase. But not everything is less expensive. You pay a premium for imported goods. And vehicles are insanely priced here. (Yes, I know the vehicle hating crew says to walk everywhere. From their posts I can see that just leaves them angry and tired). But if your item originates on the island you can usually find it for a much lower price than you might be used to paying for it in your country of origin. Today I paid 100 pesos for 4 pineapples. I would pay 250 pesos for one in my country of origin. There are two economies in the DR. The economy for the people who live here and know what time it is. And the economy for those that do not. But the grocery store the prices are marked and you pay exactly what everyone else pays. No gringo mark up!
To this point I've been staying in a hotel that has a La Sirena directly across the street. I will take a look next week. I want to try an Airbnb in the near future so I'll need to buy groceries.Staying in a Airbnb in the area you are interested in is a excellent way of getting aquatinted with a area (although on a high socio-economic level). I am not really aware of any Airbnbs that are located in more colorful areas. Although I am not a Airbnb person. I have never stated in one ever. When it is time to go grocery shopping you will find the experience to be greatly improved to where is it not much different than shopping in any well developed western nation. The signs will be in Spanish so bring your translator of choice if you are not strong in the language. I still use mine to find things in hardware stores when I have no idea how to say it in Spanish. I pull up the word on my Spanish dictionary and show them the screen.
So is it better to buy a small place or long term rent in the DR? What is the market like these days? I'm not rich by any means but I'm not broke either. You will find a few insights from me below.
For those interested in living real life in the Dominican Republic instead just visiting and talking shit about those giving complements to people who actually are providing useable information about getting girls in the Dominican Republic, I offer the following suggestions (These opinions are developed from actually living here full time, yours may differ. And if you do not agree with me, I really do not give a fuck):
1. If you are truly interested in living in the Dominican Republic full or part time, travel to different parts of the island first. You may discover something that you did not know about or see something you like that moves you. Example: Had I seen Punta Cana or Boca Yuma before moving to Santo Domingo este I would have only had wheels down in SDQ passing thru on my way to those places.
2. After you have chosen your initial spot, rent! Let me say that again. After you have chosen your initial spot, rent! Living somewhere is entirely different from visiting it. While living in Santo Domingo este I traveled all over this island. After seeing other places, I would choose to live someplace other than este. Now don't get it twisted. I fulfilled my lifetime dream to live in a place with a ocean view. Something I could have never afforded to do in my country of origin. But after three years of living by the ocean and all of my personal items rusting out because of the salt air, I have decided that it better to live within one hour of a beach that you like and drive there when I want to see the water. You might not give a fuck about the beach. You might like living in the mountains. There are places to do that here. You might like living in the country and have a little elbow room. There are places to do that here. You might want to live in a high rise building where you can walk out and into the night life every night. There are places to do that here. And there are places to both rent and buy in every situation I described.
3. After you think you have found the place you want to live I think it is best for you to do what works for you. Rent or Buy is a personal decision based on your philosophy and pocketbook. This is renters market. And with that said I chose to buy not one but two properties. If you decide to buy a property do not buy an apartment in Republic Dominican if you plan to live there full time. This is based on real life experience actually living in the Dominican Republic and owning an apartment here. Not an article in a newspaper or internet.
4. If you do not like being hot when the power goes out: Buy an inverter. LOL! This is also based on real life experience living in the Dominican Republic. I lived here for 6 months before I said "fuck that" and bought my own inverter and two batteries. I then upgraded to four and new pure sine wave inverter. Never thought about the power again afterwards except to add water to my batteries every month and clean the connects to the battery cables.
5. It is a buyers market. No fear! I had no problem offering 35% of asking price and finally settling on 50%. All over the island, I had people lowering the offering prices in order to get me to make a offer. But that was for a particular property type. If you are looking for something different, you know what they say YMCMV (Your market conditions may vary). In the property type I am looking for it is so good I am actually looking to buy more.
6. Please do not fall victim to the idea that knowing the buying power of DOP in Republica Dominicana does not directly help you with getting pussy. Actually it does. If you know you can get your dick sucked for 500 DOP on the street and a chica wants 1000 DOP to suck your dick you can make a decision if you want your dick sucked two times for 1000 DOP or just one time please! You can ask the chica that wants a 1000 to let you blast your splooge into her mouth or face or even swallow that nasty shit! Those who would ask me about chicas who be sucking dick for 500 DOP only need to send me a PM. I will meet them in Santo Domingo este and we can go out on the street and if you do not speak the language well I will make the arrangements for you to get your dick sucked. But I will not hold your dick. The chica is going to do that for you. Unless you like a "no hands" dick suck. Everyone has their preferences. But you have to file a trip report and give me a shout out in it. LOL!
7. Knowing the value of things lets your girl know you not one of the gringos visiting with a millionaire for week attitude. You can check uber to see how far a girl is away from you. They are going to give you a price for the ride right in the program. Doesn't give your chica much room to game you on the taxi price, does it?
8. When reading posts, know who actually lives here full time, who lives here part time, and who is just visiting. It not only affects the knowledge they have, it affects the quality of the information they provide, and gives insight into attitude they have. Prepare to catch a lot of it (attitude) after you move here and begin posting your experiences. Visitors be hating on expats up in here sometimes. What's up with that? We all like to fuck right? That is why we be up in here? Visitors can tell me about pussy. Cause that is all they are doing all day, looking to get their dick off. But they cannot tell me a thing about living here. Have not gotten a single PM to go grocery shopping yet. LOL!
But what the fuck do I know? I just live here.

StrawHat Life is good for me in Republica Dominicana. Not a dream. But a good life. A friend told me (one that actually has nothing to do with ISG nor wants too) before I moved here that you can build whatever life you wish for yourself here. He was right! And I have.....

But it is going on for a long time! One wave from the 'official' outbreak 13 weeks to the peak then same to the trough should have made it by September including the elections in Dom Rep. Now there is only two weeks in December to the customary blackout days for flights. I have no optimism for Dom Rep in the near term.

I most recently booked a trip to the Dominican Republic to check out Blackbeards in early December. The US State Department continues with its Level 4 Travel Advisory due to the level of confirmed cases in the country. Has anyone recently travelled down to the DR and can give an update from the ground? Thinking with my rational mind as opposed to my other head, I wonder if it would be wise to reschedule.

I do not know anyone who has caught Coronavirus, or know anyone who has done so, but my social circle is small.
It depends on your budget. If you can only afford occasional trips, maybe better to wait until next summer when we might be closer to normal. But if you can afford a trip now without impinging on future plans, then come on down.
Two American friends arrived yesterday in Costambar for a week. It would be good if they reported here, but I am not too hopeful.

Has anyone recently travelled down to the DR and can give an update from the ground? Thinking with my rational mind as opposed to my other head, I wonder if it would be wise to reschedule.I stopped in at Blackbeard's for a few minutes last week to show another board member that I was giving a ride to Sosua. Appears to be business as usual. About 8 chicks there around 1 pm. I would not even think the curfew affects that place seeing that it is enclosed anyway. I still don't get the draw though. It is just a hotel with chicks hanging out. Another poster reported that it is virtually the same scenario at Casa Valeria in Sosua. I guess the main difference is that you don't have to negotiate price at BB and there is limited scamming. Still the place always seems pretty boring to me unless there is a bikini contest going on.
Only things I see different about DR in these times are that people are wearing masks and there is a curfew. Besides that, same old DR. Only way I would advise you to reschedule is if you are itching to hang out past 9pm on weekdays and 7pm on weekends and holidays. Other than that, enjoy your trip.
I'm not an expert on DR but it is close to Florida and a fun location. I flew to Santo Domingo mid September, stayed at a decent hotel, booked my chica for 3 days, booked another for 2 days. I ate & drank at the hotel except for one nice meal out and had a great time. I went back in October same plan & I'm returning next week with the same plan. I don't go out to crowded places and am quite comfortable at the hotel especially with a woman determined to drain every drop of semen from my body!
DR was level 4 before my first trip and remains a level 4. I view Florida just as risky as DR but what do I know.
It boils down to your risk tolerance, do what you are comfortable doing, no right or wrong in that just what you are comfortable with doing.

As another member noted, if you are into night time bar hopping, the curfew is going to hamstring you. The locals at times, around bars, do not wear masks and you would want to avoid those kind of locations. I travel alone and live alone in a quiet place to mitigate such issues but, in the end, it is your risk tolerance profile that matters!

Strawhat. And our brave new world that is no longer the case.
Now you have to be socially responsible for those around you.
Quarantine and locked down at home for 2 weeks if you've travelled, even if you're healthy, so you don't put at risk those yahoos on the street who don't bother to wear masks. Staying cooped up in your room, can't even drive out alone to the countryside for fresh air and exercise. Find a relative or friend to leave groceries in the lobby downstairs for you.
Don't expose those joggers in midtown to your second hand smoke, even if the traffic jam fumes they are inhaling are deadly toxic. Don't gather in a crowd, unless it's a socially sanctioned protest for a "good cause'.
Even in the DR, be aware paying a little more for a good session, lest you "spoil the market" for newbie mongers, and weekend warriers! LOL.
Nah, now we all now have to be our brother's keeper.

I was there 10/13 to 10/18 in Boca Chica, I wore a mask at OLE and I went there every day. I tried to maintain my distance when I walked on the beach every day, no mask. I wore a mask walking through the beach bars but not at the beach bars. I did not wear a mask walking along Duarte every day no matter how crowded it was. I did a lot of walking into town, along the beach, and up and down Duarte. I tried to stay near the front of the Duarte bars so there was fresh air, and I went to them all. I sat beside numerous girls and guys hanging out at the bars for hours with no mask, sometimes they were packed and so were the streets. 5 nights, 8 girls, 3 overnights, no mask with any of them. Got lucky and no Covid. I am middle age with no health issues. I am going in the beginning of February either back to Boca Chica or to Cartagena. DR is so easy and so cheap. That was my first trip to DR. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I completely agree with what they said about keeping safe. I am way overboard about safety measures at home and have actually increased my safety measures again in the last 3 weeks since this virus shit has cranked up again worldwide. I was just relaying my personal experience responding to the post by PeacefulSurfer about recent visits. I was really conflicted about going at all and about what to do when I got there. Then I decided that if I was going, I was going to make the most of it. A few drinks, girls everywhere, and getting caught up in the moment put my worries on the back burner. I feel I was lucky to not catch it based on my activity level and my actions while I was there.

It's not very noticeable to tourists. What you have to spend as a full time resident does not compare well with what you have to spend. And what you get in return. In other Caribbean / Latin America countries. It's a question of quality of life. Noise pollution, unreliable water and electricity supply, and zero customer service unless you spend New York / London / Paris costs at restaurant and other hospitality venues. For those who have traveled a bit a prime example of the customer service gap is noticeable if you approach an employee in a supermarket or hardware store and ask where something can be found. You are lucky if you can get employees to stop using their phones long enough to speak with you, and even luckier if you get a useful response.I have mad respect for your posts Knowledge. They are so much more informative that much of the weak mess that is thrown up in here. But in this case I have to call a technical foul on you. Specifically your example of a grocery store and hardware store.
I live here. Full time. I am in a grocery store at least once a week. I am in a hardware store at lease once a month. I have asked many store employees for help during the entire time I have lived here and never failed to have one immediately help me with my needs. In fact, I have even had them seek out others for knowledge that they did not have. Or if I was in the wrong section have them stop the task they were working on and lead me to the area where I could find the good or service I was seeking.
Now, I do not know where you shop or the type of stores that you shop in. But my experiences in Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo este, Santiago, Punta Cana, Baharona, Vega, La Romana, Higuey, Monte Plata while shopping in major chains like Bravo, Ole, National, La Sierna, Carrefour, Plaza Lama, Garrito, IKEA, Unidos, Ferreteria Americana (when they were open) I have not experienced anything like you described. In fact, in Garrito and IKEA the are employees roaming the store looking to help you. The girls offering assistance in Garrito seem to be prettier than average. Somebody in personnel must have a eye for the ladies.
For the record, I stipulate that my experiences do not invalidate yours. But I offer alternate set of experiences for others to review. That is not to say that I have never had a problem with customer service in Republica Dominicana. It is to say that there are levels to it. And when people make sweeping generalizations they are usually wrong. Due to the exceptions. That is the social scientist in me emerging again!
In my opinion, problems with customer service in general in this country is not due to Dominicans. It is due to Dominican Business owners. The problem is that Dominican Business owners think they are better than everyone else. They think their customers and clients are privileged to be able to purchase their goods and services from them. As an example of good customer service I present: Punta Cana. Prices are not in the first world, first city range. Customer service is excellent and the customer service is being delivered by Dominicans. The difference is the training and objectives they receive from the non-Dominican business owners they work for that understand the expectations of the consumers of their goods and services from the western world. And don't throw the AI thing up in my face. I have never stepped foot in a AI in Punta Cana. Why would I need to? I can build a resort like vacation from the local economy have a great time. I have not need to be locked down in a minimum security prison (AKA: all inclusive resort).
Next issue surely to presented by somebody is that I have nothing to compare it against. That argument is valid if you wish to say I have no experience living in another country. I do not. I happen to like the Dominican Republic. Yes, it is not without it's challenges and frustrations living here. And because I point those out on occasion those like the King of Sosua read and declares from his throne that I am not happy living here. Nothing could be further from the truth. I just do not feel the need to spin everything positively when it is not. But just because I recognize reality it does not mean I am unhappy living here. Those who know me, know I am invested in Republica Dominicana far beyond any visitor and many posting up in here that live here.
Others have told me, that yes other places in Latin America has lower costs of living. But who wrote "Price is not everything"? I can agree with that. It is about perceived value. There are aspects of the financial system in the Dominican Republic that are not available to individuals living under the same circumstances in other Latin American countries. And in the end it all comes down to personal preferences and perceptions does it not.
Now, I am certain to hear that because I do not travel, I don't know anything about other places. It is a common refrain taken by a certain prolific poster consistently. But that position can only be valid if they don't count the 33 different foreign countries that I traveled to before I moved to Republica Dominicana. That is the only situation where any individual can make the argument that I am not well traveled. LOL! Haters going to hate. Players going to play. Mongers going to pay to play. But its all good in the end! Now who has some good bourbon up in here? My options are completely tapped out. I am back to searching for good rum to drink neat.
But once again, what the fuck do I know? I just live here!
Hello to everyone. I would like to know if I need to add data to my iphone in order to use whatsapp on my iphone with Claro in the the D R. I have a used Iphone that is unlocked that I plan to use exclusively in the the D R for calls and whatsapp only. It is my old phone that I used daily in the US and I since have replaced it with a newer model. Thanks for any replies. Be safe Sailoro2.

Hello to everyone. I would like to know if I need to add data to my iphone in order to use whatsapp on my iphone with Claro in the the D R. So, back home, I use T-mobile and which has this international coverage that allows me to use it in the DR (and many other places) without spending any additional money for services like whatsapp. Prior to that, and it must have been 3-4 years back, when I used to carry a second phone and I used Claro. All that I needed to do is go to any phone place and add 1 day or multiple days for a given amount of pesos. So the long and short of this message is: adding minutes is good enough, no need for data. Whatsapp is not data intensive at all and it would work fine that way, calls might be a different matter. What might irk you, are the stupid and unwanted incoming messages sent by claro and associates, which costs you and bring your balance down. Perhaps one could go to a Claro location and ask for deactivating receiving such garbage.

Yes. But you do it yourself from your phone. If I need data in order to use whatsapp I will purchase it at the airport kiosk. I didn't know if it was necessary to have data in addition to the regular minutes or not to use whatsapp. I normally use a regular flip phone when in the the are. Thank you Mr E. Sailor02.

If I need data in order to use whatsapp I will purchase it at the airport kiosk. I didn't know if it was necessary to have data in addition to the regular minutes or not to use whatsapp. You don't purchase data first. You add credit to your phone then you use some of that credit to get your data by punching in *122# Call. Then a list pops up. Then I think you choose services. Then another list pops up. Then you choose free packages I think. Then another list comes up. Then it asks if you want 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 1 month and has the prices next to them. 1 day is 50 pesos, 3 days 95, 5 days 140, etc. So it is graduated down like that. You choose one then it asks if that is what you want. You choose yes. Then it sends the message that you have bought whatever data package. And you are all set.
I always add credit to mine on etopuponline. No need to go to any kiosks. You can add credit before you leave home. Then when the plane lands you can add data before you even leave the plane. You SIM card is good for only 6 months if you have not added credit during that time.
Thankd Mr E for the detailed explanation. I have been using an old style flip phone as my D R phone for 15 years (LOL) and I so I was never able to use whatsapp. I finally upgraded my DR phone to an older I phone that I was using as my U S phone. Since I want to use whatsapp on this new phone I did not know how the "Claro system" works. I didn't not know if I needed data or not for whatsapp to work on my I phone or if I could just use my pesos (minutes) for that purpose. Thanks again Sailor02.

Merry Christmas to all here in the ISG community!
(And requires a trip to the grocery store).
Santo Domingo, DR
The prices of the Christmas gummies made three women in the supermarket aisle laugh as they bought the ingredients for the Christmas dinner. One of them took the cheapest one and said this is the one you will eat at home.
This Wednesday the lines were incessant and even to enter the supermarket parking lot you had to queue up. The aisles and checkout counters were full of women and men with their carts loaded with the basics for the traditional Christmas Eve.
Aluminum trays, lasagna boxes, raw and baked chickens, fabric, turkey, pork, sweets, potatoes, carrots, eggs, apples, grapes, almonds (coquitos), cans of pigeon peas, corn, mayonnaise, and ingredients to season the different dishes were on the shopping carts.
The murmur and complaints were frequent among the shoppers because of the prices. A pound of ground meat at RD$156.95, the frozen turkey at RD$129.00, a pound of fresh pigeon peas at RD$138.95, baked chicken at 310.00, baked pork at RD$360.00, and baked turkey at RD$330.
On average, the traditional Christmas dinner for a family of five is around RD$6,000 (USD $103), including the following menu: two baked chickens (RD$700.00), three pounds of baked pork (900.00), a pot of pigeon peas (RD$300.00), lasagna (RD$600.00), a ripe banana cake (RD$600.00), six-leaf cakes (RD$750.00) and candies RD$600.00.
Also included on the menu are a green salad RD$200.00, a mixed salad RD$300.00, a loom RD$79.95, two double liters of soft drink RD$120.00, two La Fuerza red wines RD$309.00, a Crema de Oro punch (egg nog) RD$314.00 and Brugal rum RD$350.00.
Dynamism
The sales dynamics in the stores have been remarkable during the last days and the social distancing protocols for the prevention of COVID-19 has not been observed in many cases, only the use of masks is visible in the riots.
People are crowding into the producers markets and into the importers markets seeking lower prices to ease the expenses of maintaining the tradition and gathering with their families to celebrate Christmas Eve and the Christmas holiday.
Products on the rise
The basic family grocery basket has seen prices increase this year-end. As of yesterday, a pound of rice ranged from RD$23.49 to RD$29.49 (40-50 cents), the five-pound sugar package from RD$124.00 (USD $2), and garlic from RD$54.00 to RD$120.00 (USD $1-2) per pound.
A 30 unit carton of eggs in the supermarket for RD$168.95 to RD$225.00 (USD $2.90-$3.90), a pound of Barcel tomatoes for RD$33.95, a pound of Cuban peppers for RD$47.95, a pound of cucumbers for RD$14.45 and a pound of red peppers for RD$59.95.
Drinks The consumption of alcoholic beverages is essential in the Christmas celebrations. The price of sangria is around RD$300.00, the price of wine varies from RD$300.00 to RD$5,000.
Figures 1,500 Government bonds. The government, through the Social Policy Cabinet, distributed a RD$1,500 bonus to people who do not receive state aid to guarantee the poorest people a Christmas dinner.
RD$360
A pound of pork. The pound of the traditional lechn (piglet) is sold in the streets and supermarkets between RD$300.00 and RD$360.00.
RD$330
Baked turkey.
The turkey, which for many families should not be missing from the table, sells for RD$330.00 per baked pound

I am breaking this years holiday message down for two different groups:
To my fellow men in the arena. I hope your holiday season is everything you want it to be!
To my critics, it is most unfortunate that you do not matter. But it is a situation of your own doing. Change your ways. And be a man in the arena!
Happy Holidays!
Effective 1/26/21, all international travelers including US citizens, will be required to get a viral test within 3 days before departure and, show proof of negative Covid 19 test before being allowed to board the plane from the country of departure to the US. This obviously may cause changes to travel plans to the DR for some of us. For those on this board who are familiar with Covid 19 testing in the DR, is it easy to get the test in Santo Domingo? I am planning on going there in 3 weeks.
Sorry about the Spanish language link (you can use google to translate it).

Where can I have a PCR test done in the Dominican Republic with results 48 to 72 hours before the trip back to my country?
The Amadita and Reference laboratories can perform the PCR tests at home so it is necessary to coordinate with enough time to schedule the visit of the specialists, since 48 hours are required to process the sample and deliver the result, according to the following guidelines:
If you are in a hotel outside of Santo Domingo, we recommend that you schedule the test from the moment you arrive in the country to ensure the availability of the specialists, so you can get the result when you need it.
If you are in Santo Domingo, you can schedule the test the same day or the next day.
Remember that you must present your passport to take the test. For home tests to be performed at the hotel, you must inform the reception staff so they can give access to the laboratory specialists.
You can make an appointment for the PCR test sample collection through the following channels:
Amadita Laboratorio CLnico.
It has 47 branches strategically located nationwide for general clinical analysis.
The COVID-19 PCR test is performed nationwide by requesting a visit to your hotel of a specialist or in person at the special collection points located in Santo Domingo and Santiago. You can request the test by completing the form required by the Ministry of Health through the following channels:
App Amadita (available for Android & IOS).
Web page www.amadita.com.

In researching I also realized that the DR appears to be extremely generous in their attempts to attract international tourists during this difficult times. As seen in the insurance form below, free medical coverage is presently provided until March 31st, for international tourists who fly into the DR and check-in a hotel. I wonder if this will also cover for the Covid 19 test. I guess it will, since the information that you forwarded does make mention of passport to be presented for the test. They also mention that IGG / IGM (no idea what these are as I believe only PCR is acceptable to the airlines as prescribed by US authorities) tests do not require that and also does not have insurance requirement. Hopefully others will chime in and the testing labs will wake up to this new business.

The Canadian Consulate sent me this morning a response to my query as to what are their recommended testing location and tests. I am only including those valid for the North Coast. By the way, CMC in Sosua only does the Antigen test. Not valid for flying.
Good day,
Thank you for contacting the Canadian Consulate in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
We understand you have enquiries regarding the mandatory requirement for a pre-departure COVID-19 testing and negative results to be required for all air travellers coming to Canada.
Effective midnight on January 7, 2021 (00:00 EST or 05:00 UCT), regardless of citizenship, all travellers five years of age or older must provide proof of a negative laboratory test result for COVID-19 to the airline prior to boarding a flight to Canada.
Acceptable tests.
The test must be performed using one of two types of COVID-19 testseither a molecular polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) and must be conducted within 96 hours of the traveller's scheduled departure to Canada.
Proof to board a flight.
All travellers coming to Canada must present proof of a negative laboratory test result for COVID-19 at the time of boarding. Failure to do so will mean an automatic denial of boarding by the airline operating the flight to Canada.

I think I will have to give up my February plan. The whole testing thing is still unclear. CDC wants it no more than 72 hours before arrival testing and the labs are talking about 72 to deliver result and so it boils down to you hanging around at airport not knowing if you can or not board. In addition, there is a new Presidential executive order signed yesterday, asking for self quarantine on arrival as per CDC recommendation. Too many barriers for a 7 day itch.

One of the disincentives of settling in many exotic countries, including most SA countries, is the percentages local banks keep of the money you transfer from your home country. How do Dominican banks fare in that respect? I'm interested in transfers from the euro zone, substantial amounts, say 10 k euros. Anyone with mileage?

Be safe Saior02.I doubt anything is going to change from current guidelines till at least October, November. New administration is going slow even if Covid rates decline. Traveling within USA will be easier as vaccinations pick up in speed but I doubt they would want to take a risk of COVID positive people getting in from other countries.
Testing and quarantine will be here to stay in the near future.

Incoming transfer is 6 euro. That seems very reasonable. Of course it remains to be seen if the bank applies a fair exchange rate. Interestingly, Scotiabank was also recommended for Peru with respect to cash withdrawals with overseas credit cards.
I wonder what they mean by "por avance de efectivo". There's a 6.25% on that. A literal translation would be "cash advance". If that is the case that's a stiff fee on a cash withdrawals with credit cards.
In the first spreadsheet they say "Transacciones en cajeros automaticos" are free. This would suggest you can withdraw money for free with the bank's debit card.
Cheap access to one's cash is paramount in a country where one is contemplating staying long term.

The airport tax in and out of the country is going to cost you $100, which is among the highest in the world. And that 28% tax you pay when you eat at a restaurant is no joke either. My rental car for next month is going to cost $144, but comes to $207 with the taxes and fees. That is 44% right there.
....
Cheap access to one's cash is paramount in a country where one is contemplating staying long term.Hey man. You might want to open an account with Charles Schwab. I've saved hundreds, probably thousands over the years. At the end of every month you'll see a reimbursement for ATM fees. No exchange fees, nada. I lost my card once and they emergency shipped a replacement to the Philippines for free. Try getting your bank or credit card to do that.

As an asshole from a taxi mafia told me they track Uber drivers using the Uber app. I had a few bad experiences when an Uber driver was stopped at the entrance of Costambar and begged me to come just out of the main gate for pick up. Heard similar stories from guests staying at BB. For the airport, I use Tropiclink, even cheaper than Uber, and no issues with the taxi mafia.

My PP chica often hosts my birthday bash there, at Marina's shack with the locals.
We take our dedicated publico driver there and back from Sosua, at 500 pesos each way (Dominican pricing, LOL). On the odd occasion he can't make it for pickup we have been virtually stranded there, waiting for a local taxi.
They believe this gated area is their personal domain and they are notorious for making a visitor aware of that.
That's how they got the Taxi Mafia name in the first place.

What would be a fair price for a ride from Sosua to Costombar.OPTION ONE.
About 100 pesos (about US $1. 75).
Publico to the hosptal in Puerto Plata: 60 pesos.
JC publico to the entrance gate of Costambar. 40 pesos.
Double the above prices while COVID regulations are in force because they are only allowed half as many passengers. Fine with me, I alway buy two seats for more comfort.
If you want Blackbeards, add 75 pesos for a motoconcho.
Note: this won't work after dark as the JC publico stops at dusk.
OPTION TWO.
Charter a private cab.
2000 pesos.
OPTION THREE.
Negotiate a dedicated publico from the parada in Sosua (maybe 1000 pesos).
Can anyone recommend a driver in boca chica? I would need help getting groceries and covid test. Planning on returning late next month. Sailor02.

I'm heading to SDQ early April for fun & relaxation. I have an unlocked iPhone XR that I would like to activate in Dominican Republic and it appears that Claro & Altice are the two primary carriers. What is the best service and what is best way to activate. Online or in store? And what is the typical monthly cost?
Thanks, Strawhat.
As you exit to the left will be a Altice (or is a Claro) I cannot remember. Depending upon what time you arrive in SDQ they may or may not be open. It is 100 - 150 DOP for a prepaid SIM card. I have never activated online. And I have never had a post paid plan here in the Dominican Republic. On the prepaid side it will completely depend upon your usage of phone and internet services. You can buy packets of internet use as you go on the prepaid side. Once again I cannot tell you how much that is. I live here. So I have a internet plan in the place where I live. And I pay for a hotspot monthly for mobile internet service.
I have always used Altice for my mobile internet service and Claro for my home internet service. My choices are based on my personal opinion of the prices and service I have received from the two different providers of telecommunication services.
All the damn experts on everything up in here and I am the only one to answer your question. I guess if is it is not about "dumb girls" no one knows a damn thing about it!

I'm looking for hotel room or serviced apartment with a doorman with a kitchen (so I can watch chicas cook for me). Any recommendations? Trying to spend less than 100 $ a day. I found some on airbnb but I don't know their policies on bringing in multiple guess.
All the damn experts on everything up in here and I am the only one to answer your question. I guess if is it is not about "dumb girls" no one knows a damn thing about it!
LOL!I think you answered the question well.
No need to chime in with more of the same, but Good Job, Well said, Bravo, and Ole, if it makes you feel good!

Thanks, Strawhat.Having used both I prefer Claro over Altice (Orange). If you are staying in populated areas they both have good coverage but Claro has been better in the campo. In the past Orange had spotty coverage at Blackbeards but Claro had strong coverage.
When you activate the SIM make sure you put minutes and data on the phone. Sometimes if you do not ask they just activate the SIM with neither voice or data. I think the 5 day unlimited data plan on Claro is the best bang for the peso. When I was there a year ago the 5 day plan was 200 pesos and I believe I purchased the SIM for 60 pesos. It is easy to extend the plan at a Claro booth which can be found in most of the stores.
Make sure you have your passport with you when you get the new SIM. On refills the passport is no longer required.
I would like to add that you can actually recharge online and almost any colmado out there. There are many more prepaid users in country than post paid.

Most Bravo's and Ole's have Claro, Alice or both in order to both activate or recharge if you do not do it at a booth within SDQ. Except, I do not know if there is a Bravo or a Ole in Sosua. But you are spending time in the city where the big dogs roam, Right?

As you exit to the left will be a Altice (or is a Claro) I cannot remember. Depending upon what time you arrive in SDQ they may or may not be open.Claro is to the right. Burger King, Dominican Restaurant, and the bank are to the left. But what do I know; I don't even live there.
Claro is to the right. Burger King, Dominican Restaurant, and the bank are to the left. But what do I know; I don't even live there.Well, look at that. You are right. As you exit on the down the ramp it is on the right. It is a good thing you do not live there. That way you have better information than I do about SDQ. It has been over 18 months since I needed to exit SDQ. And that was to pick up a relative. Thank you for stepping in and correcting my information.
You are a frequent visitor here in the Dominican Republic, right? LOL!
Thanks, makes sense that I could do that in the airport. I'll buy a 5 day plan for now. I arrive in the afternoon so everything will be open. This trip I'm meeting just one girl. If she makes me real happy for 5 days I may leave this phone with her. We've been video chatting for the past two weeks & she is a cutie, submissive at that LOL.
Strawhat.

Staying in Santo Domingo business district. I will stay close to the hotel till I get my negative test result for my flight back to USA?Why do you need to stay close to the hotel? They can send the results through email, whatsapp, or you can retrieve it on the app. It only takes 1 hour.
I will stay close to my hotel (with my 25 yo brown skin Latina) to minimize my chance of catching COVID and testing positive. Even though highly unlikely, the impact of staying in RD 10 extra days would disrupt my work in the USA. After, I receive my negative test for my flight back to US, I will go out more. My hotel has a place to drink, eat & smoke cigars plus I'm coming to relax so relax, then test 3 days before my return flight and hit restaurants and cigar bar.
I am vaccinated but just found out that I could still catch COVID-19 without symptoms but still test positive.
I'm coming for orgasms, cigars, drink & food in that order.

Income needed to live in the Dominican Republic. A few thoughts:
We never speak of this but now that this subject has come up, I am curious: What is amount of money one needs (per month / per annum), to live 1) a regular life without splurging and 2) a comfortable life, for example with a car etc. I presume that no one wants to buy a property there and so looking at it also from the perspective of a decent area rental costs.
Thanks.T, this is a straight landmine subject. If it was anyone other than you I wouldn't touch it in the public forum. I moved your post to the General Information section. Because I cannot speak to the costs in Sousa where you made your post. I have only visited the place once. That was to sightsee and fuck.
So here goes: Disclosures: This is my opinion and my lifestyle preferences..
The biggest factor to consider is where you want to live in the Dominican Republic and how you want to live. Let's keep it to rental costs (so how many bedrooms and do you want an apartment, house, villa). Decent area is a wide definition. Many people think I am slumming it. I feel like I am living large. I certainly could not live the way I live here in the Dominican Republic in my country of origin on the same amount.
Unless you are living life of the rich and famous the most expensive place to live (in my opinion is Santo Domingo. It is less expensive to live in Santo Domingo este. It is less expensive to live in Santiago. I do not really have a feel for living costs in Punta Cana but I would not hesitate to live there if my situation changed. If you are willing to live in a small town in the interior of the country the costs to live are next to nothing. I am not even going to touch the North Coast. There are others in a better position to give advice on that.
Monthly expenses
I personally would not want to try to live on less than 1500 USD without a car in Santo Domingo este. 2000 USD in Santo Domingo.
Add 500 USD to both of those amounts if you want to live comfortably and can pay cash for your car.
Once you get into the 3000 - 5000 USD range you can basically live any damn way you like Brother.
Now, I tend to live a bit frugally (but still to the standards that I was used to in my country of origin) so I live on less than the amounts I have given. Not everyone will want to cut corners on the same stuff that I do. But I believe my numbers are accurate for someone living a regular life and splurging. And I do my share of splurging (balling on a budget Brother). Your initial costs in the first few years are going to be higher because you have to set up your personal infrastructure. Figure you need 10,000 USD for that depending on the type of stuff you want in your residence.
Any sort of real apartment. You know when you live here and sign a contract. All you are going to get are four walls. You are not even going to get a light bulb. Your building must have a generator for everyone (not just the common areas) or you need to buy a inverter and 4 batteries (2000 USD). Residency is going to cost you 1500 - 2000 USD unless you can find an attorney to give you a deal or do it yourself. You can buy heath insurance (50 - 200 USD month depending on the plan) or have 2000 USD reserve to pay for medical expenses as you go. I would still suggest buying an medical evacuation policy. Although the DR has the best hospital in the Caribbean. Period! What costs is medications here. There are very few generics available. You may also have travel costs to return to country of origin on a regular basis and you have to factor that in. Many sexpats that I know also continue to maintain a home in their country or origin. But of course your living costs are reduced to basic maintenance. And who does not move to another country debt free with everything in their home country paid for (right)?
I recommend traveling the island after you first arrive and that is going to have a cost also. And of course, your own personal desires determine the cost of your monthly booty bill. But as someone else pointed out, if you "figure it out" you can have all the pussy you want while spending an amount well below what you would spend while visiting. I have and can state from experience that is one of the few things I've read from this person that I agree with.
Now, I am going let the snipers begin taking their shots. I got my vest, steel plate insert, kevlar helmet and good cover behind a cinder block wall. Take your best shot!

Thanks Subcmdr and Oakie, for your thoughts.
1. I wanted to have a ball park number to understand the range and it appears that it can be starting at 1500/2000 onwards.
2. I am not sure what the issues are with this other matter, which is "stay permit". I certainly have no interest in residency and for a variety of reasons, as we grow old, we have to fly home, especially medical needs, which means it cannot be a continuous, multi year stay and I wonder what are the issues with that.
3. I also do not care much about setting up shop from scratch once again. Right from paying utilities to having to deal with problems with electricity etc. Staying at a managed place that way, has its convenience but I also do not want too many to pry on my lifestyle, which is what happens when there are others around.
4. Finally, in terms of place, I know that I could not care less in big cities. Already the noise level in any place there is atrociously high, cannot imagine the traffic, pollution and other issues. On the other hand, I do not know campo, really and I am sure things like Internet there are spotty. I also enjoy different cuisines, which I one reason why I prefer Sosua over Pto Pta or Santiago. I wish there were a good French restaurant is Sosua though. It appears that the French have all gravitated towards Las Terrenas. I also had a scrumptious French dinner at a French run place close of Cayo Arena.
Anyway, there are my musings, no real question but it would be nice to read other residents if they feel like chipping in.
Thanks in advance to all.

Can anyone verify that DR uses swipe wards at airports to check for drug odors? I read something about it on Trip Advisor but I have never come across it before. New technology? Can someone please explain the process.

I am considering moving to DR in the near future also. I was thinking about Costa Rica but I love the beaches / women in the Dominican Republic better. My only concern in DR is health insurance. My income will be in the $3000 ranges so I think I should be fine.

Hello to all. I have a question about the new bar code requirement for clearing customs at the airport. I understand the proceedure for entering the D R whereby the forms are filled out online and a bar code is given to use for clearing customs. My question is more about the proceedure for leaving the dominican republic. Is the process exactly the same or is there a difference. I have read somewhere that the bar code is not necessary for returning and since the paper forms are no longer used I am wondering what needs to be done. Thanks to all. Sailor02.

I returned from DR to the States on Friday. They offer antigen testing at the airport.
I arrived at the airport 12:48. Went to the information desk and was directed to the testing area. It is located down a short hallway behind the ticket counter. There were 6 people waiting for test results and 2 people in line in front of me waiting to be tested. I had to show my passport to register. After a short wait I was tested and out of there at 1:17. Total cost was $35 usd.

Now it seems like sosua, santiago, santodomingo, etc has become the hotspot for the "make it rain" crew that rent villas and post youtube vlogs.

See more info about it here: https://www.godominicanrepublic.com/newsroom/coronavirus/.
"E-TICKET: As of April 1, 2021, all foreign and Dominican passengers entering or leaving Dominican Republic on commercial flights must complete the electronic entry and exit form, which combines the Traveler's Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration and International Embarkation / Disembarkation forms. Until April 30,2021, Dominican authorities will exceptionally accept both types of registrations to enter the country: the current one through physical forms, and the new one through the digital system. As of May 1, 2021, the use of digital forms will be mandatory and no other method of providing the required information to enter the Dominican Republic will be allowed or be recognized as valid. The form is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Russian and can be accessed through the following link: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do.
Passengers will need to fill out a form for arrival and another one for departure and the system will generate two QR codes. Dominican airports have free internet access, so that passengers who did not fill out the form before flying can do so when they arrive in the country. To save time during the arrival procedure, we recommend filling out the form 72 hours before the trip, printing or making a screenshot of the QR code and keeping it on hand until arrival, where it will be scanned by the authorities when passengers go through Customs. The QR code will not be scanned during departure, but it is a confirmation that the form was completed correctly. If passengers need to make any changes to the form, they must fill it out a new form. For additional information and to watch an instructional video, please visit: https://viajerodigital.mitur.gob.do/. Passengers arriving on private flights, non-commercial vessels, ferries, cruise ships, etc. , do not need to fill out the electronic form. The physical Traveler's Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration and International Embarkation / Disembarkation forms will be accepted for the aforementioned passengers."

If you are Colombian and I'm sure you speak Spanish, the whole island is open for you. The youtubers are filming in Santo Domingo because of the venues and history, but haven't seen people " make it rain" there. Santiago is a laid back spot that's affordable so a lot of ex Sousa guys go there to lay low and have a fine girl. Puerto Plata is growing fast but not my spot, too many gringos from Sousa. But Puerto Plata has several new cigar cafes, restaurants and roof top bars with live music. Boca chica is run by the Italians and they let a few youngsters in but most get run out by the aggressive touts begging. Take your pick. No, the DR is still in play if you shop outside of Sousa.

Just ideas: Pedernales, Miches, Bahahibe.Awesome. Thank you.
I love these posts asking if DR is still a good spot. No, it is not a good spot if you want it to be like other places you go. It is a good spot if you enjoy Republica Dominicana for what it has to offer and can put up with the problems that come with the place.
Baharona.
Someone said it is their new favorite spot. Surprised they did not mention it. Been mine since I was "boots on the ground" along with Puta Cana. There is a local beach there that is great. Unfortunately, growth and development has caught up and there is a new planned community being built right down the road from the place.
Nagua.
Hating on expats is a lost cause here in Republica Dominicana. They are a major source of hard currency and proximity to well developed nations while still being the most affordable well developed spot in the Caribbean means they are coming in groves not staying away.

So, I'm trying to make my next move in the CoViD travel game: where can you go without being forced to quarantine, mask wearing, curfews, lockdowns, and be even allowed in given were you come from! I found that DR didn't even require that stupid 72 hour PCR test. They appear to extend a wide open invitation! Question: does this mean that everyone is flocking to DR now? Do you find it being more crowded than it used to be?
This could be the perfect place for my next move. I would like it somewhere warm, beachy, relaxed, decent Internet to work, ideally a resort type hotel. But one where there is a free flow of chicas, pro or semipro I don't care, but without being overpriced. Like without requiring all that hunting to find them and waste time to make appointments and be blown off. Rather, one where you can go about your business and when the urge hits or a nice proposal crosses your field of view, you could just go at it. I imagine DR as a place where such thing might almost exist.
It should be fair priced though. If I can get a nice selection in Rio or So Paulo for US $ 25 short time on from there, I do not at all feel an interest to instead go to Habano's in Panama to pick up something that wants US $100, I find Panama unattractive for this reason. Basically I am trying to decide between Colombia and the. Are. For my next stop. And I have a sense that the. Are. Has more action near beach places. Can you recommend?
EDITS: I did some research, just finding nice places to stay, that some places look pretty sold out. Santo Domingo and especially Santiago has everything sold out it seems. Santiago has no beach anyway. I wonder if I go to some beach town far away from those centers, like it was suggested Nagua or Baharona, do they have any chicas on offer or is it short supply and high price there? I don't care much about clubbing and generally going out. I am more interested in having an easy time of calling someone over, or going out to pick up, and possibly have some kind of fixed arrangement for a week or so, rather than constantly going out on the hunt.

Sosua has all that and more. Leave your stress at home. You don't even need to drive.
Check it out. Thanks man. Though I have read back a little bit here and people were complaining about Souza having been "ruined by gringo expats" or so. I have checked the Hotel availability and prices around, and it looks like Punta Cana, and Souza and Santiago are very high prices and mostly sold out. Is Souza inflated? So if I take into consideration the US $ 100 per short term which is really the cheapest you can get away with in Panama (Habano's) while in Colombia you'd pay US $50 (200 mil COP) and in Brazil you can easily find good bang for the buck at 200 BRL, I. E. , $40, I am wondering if DR in Souza and Punta Cana is ratcheting up to the 100 USD level? I mean, even in Brazil there is crazy prices that some people pay, I have lots of insider info in Brazil and the prices I have heard some of these girls claiming they make are absolutely insane! There is one beach in Florianopolis where they make several hundreds of dollars on a gig. It's insane! So I wonder if that is the same in Souza if the resorts there charge 1000 USD per week? But maybe you have a recommendation?
Otherwise I might start in Boca Chica or Baharona or something. Off the beaten track. But there's the risk that no services will be easily available. I would consider treating myself to some higher class resort if I knew that there would be plenty of supply of fun at reasonable prices, but not if their service charge ideas were beyond the pail.

Look for Casa Valeria (google it for their website) in Sosua if you like a quiet place and next door New Garden, which can be somewhat raucous (used to be at least). I have stayed at Casa Valeria and it would meet with approval from most people here. Including Oakie. It is the closest you can be to action. What with that hotel and the next door hotel restaurants (good quality restaurants too) having women sitting around. The women also strut about on the streets right outside the gates of the hotels and as this is a really small town, it is extremely convenient for taking a stroll and getting lucky.
I would say that keeping the mask on is a good idea. Even if you are vaccinated as you do not want to catch a mutated bug and fall sick there. You also have to get a "covid free" certification from a lab to get back home.
Regarding rates, I think you should not pay more than $40-50, even if you are asked for higher amount. If this sounds like a plan, send me a PM, and I might be able to give you further pointers.
Colombia, right at this moment is a little hot, politically speaking BTW.

Though I have read back a little bit here and people were complaining about Souza having been "ruined by gringo expats" or so.As much as I do not like Sosua, I will recommend it to you. You are new so my ruined may be your paradise. You will not be staying at a resort. You will be staying at a hotel. Sosua is not a resort town. And if you happen to stay in a resort in DR they will not let any hookers in. And by chance they do then it will cost you a pretty peso. Punta Cana has great beaches but the hookers there will try you for $100 or better. Blackbeards outside Puerto Plata and Sosua will suit you best.

The women also strut about on the streets right outside the gates of the hotels and as this is a really small town, it is extremely convenient for taking a stroll and getting lucky.Thank you very much gentlemen, I am going with your advice here. This sounds like a great plan. I checked out the map and the street and the hotel options and found that Hotel Alicia Beach just 200 m from Casa Valeria toward the beach, I supposed that is equivalent? Or is there a downside? Is there an issue with hotel staff being uptight if you bring company to your room or have someone show up? I don't suppose so. This will be good.
And just to ask one more thing, Boca Chica (sounds kind-a delicious, hehe) that's really close to Santo Domingo is that in any way comparable? It seems like prices are a bit lower there, and it's so close to the city that it should be no shortness of chicas. I wonder if there are known downsides? Maybe I should try both and compare. I got some time to kill, and anything in DR and outside of the USA or Panama should like a dream. EDIT: I checked the Boca Chica forum here and learned quickly that the selection there appears to be sub-par. So I will jump directly to Souza I guess.
EDIT some more: wow that Ahnvee Resort, adults only, sounds like just the thing. They should let the chicas in there, don't they? And probably meant for the purpose, no? I like what I see. ... OK, OK, it's super expensive though. Got it.
BTW, I agree that Colombia seems to be a little bit hot-headed right now, plus they are riding the CoViD wave high, while DR appears to be a pleasantly sane outlier when it comes to the CoViD statistics, quite amazing actually.

They only take cash now and are usually the second choice behind New Garden and Casa Valeria which were totally booked. Got a great deal that included breakfast at Alicia. The owners were nice. The only problem is that girls are spooked because of the girl killed there. Two girls refused to come to Alicia. I received 3 nights for 141 usd including breakfast. I booked last minute on the bus from Santo Domingo to Sousa via wassap with the owner.
I'm in Boca chica now after a Sousa run last weekend with two newbies. Boca is a smaller Sousa with less Americans and more Europeans. Currently it's more Haitian girls in Boca chica and less Dominicans. So if you prefer chocolate go to Boca chica. The strip and beach stop serving alcohol at 5 pm but certain spots continue serving but will ask you to use cups and keep the bottles hidden. Frio hot is 53 usd a night with breakfast. Be prepared to say "no" to all the Boca chica street hustlers or your trip will be spent avoiding them as they are aggressive.
At photoacompanhantes I see some good-looking chicas at 100 BRL, food and accommodations are much cheaper, and depending on your dates air tickets could also be cheaper. Lots of things to do in Rio or Sao Paulo. So besides a longer flight time, Brazil looks like a better option, why are you not going there?
in Brazil you can easily find good bang for the buck at 200 BRL, I. E. , $40.

Are chica friendly including Alicia. The bar next door and the beach can be a good resource.
Some hotels might say they restrict guests to one at a time, but they'll waive that if you are a little discreet and don't turn your room into party central.
Boca has chicas, but the downside is it's tiny action strip. You can get bored very quickly there after a day or so. Also the beach leaves a lot to be desired.
As always IMHO.

.Comparing the DR with Brazil is unfair. Brazil is far superior to the DR in pretty much every way, except the 10-hour flight. If you have the time -- at least a week but 2 are better -- go to Brazil for the best cheap mongering experiences of your life.
And I know it sounds preposterous. Because what's wrong with, say, the Philippines or Colombia? Absolutely nothing, but Brazil has it all in one package: enthusiastic service, beaches, natural beauty, and excellent travel and mongering infrastructure at bargain basement prices.
Now that I'm done with the commercial (LOL), be careful about PA. Plenty of fakes there. It's just an advertisement site so anyone can post anything, although gems are to be found too.
The President of Brazil is a Trump want to be. Has not taken Covid seriously still high rate of infection. The cost to fly to Brazii is double the cost to the DR. The cost of girls varies but Hotels and talent because more then the DR. Chek Rio forum for costs.

Plenty of options in August from NYC to Rio for under $400 both ways, NYC to POP for the same dates would cost about $50 more.

The cost of girls varies but Hotels and talent because more then the DR. Chek Rio forum for costs. No idea what any president has to do with this since covid is in damn near every country on the planet. I guess 180 presidents out of 186 countries? on earth are Trump wanna bes and did not take it serious if that is the case. But you are kind of getting what you pay for. If I told you that you would be in for the best time ever would you make excuses of why not to go? For instance Maldives is like the best beach I have seen on the planet. Would you save up to go experience paradise, or would you make excuses and say nahh I am good with Daytona Beach every 4 months?
Brazil is the same as the USA. You walk outside and you don't know about covid. All you see is people with masks on. And when it is party time you don't even see that. For some reason the media kind of leads people to believe that people are falling out in the streets in countries with high numbers. That is what I pictured about the USA before I came back from Thailand. Got here and the only difference was people with masks on and could not eat inside of restaurants. I have been to Brazil 3 times since covid started and I am still in middle age condition, neither sick nor dead.

It's like saying no country is free from corruption. While this is true, there are more corrupt countries and less corrupt countries. You can handle Covid like Trump or Bolsonaro did, or you can handle Covid like Australia or New Zealand.
Also the fact that you're neither sick nor dead means exactly what? There are over a million deaths in the USA And Brazil alone. There have been multiple illnesses in my family. I'm not sure what you're trying to say, because one-person experience isn't relevant during a global pandemic.
Anyhow, the question was why not go to Brazil instead of the DR.
Well, I love the DR, and I actually do like Sosua, but mongering in Brazil is better, and the options are innumerable. Those who've been to both countries know it's true.
Having said that, would I go to Brazil on a 4-6 day trip? Would I go to Brazil when all I need is a beach time and occasional mongering? No way, that's where the DR shines. A 3. 5 hour flight from New York. Hard to beat that.

Saturdays and Sundays it will start at 3:00 in the afternoon.
The schedule will be applied according to the level of contagion and the rate of positivity of COVID-19 in the provinces.
As of this Wednesday, June 2 and until the 9th of the same month, a new curfew schedule will begin in the country, according to the Executive Power.
The measure is contained in decree 349-21, which establishes mobility restrictions according to the level of contagion and the rate of positivity of COVID-19 in the demarcations.
In 24 provinces and the National District, the curfew hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 6:00 in the afternoon to 5:00 in the morning, and on weekends, from 3:00 in the afternoon to 5:00 in the morning.
The provinces in which this measure will govern are Azua, Bahoruco, Barahona, Dajabóand, Elías Piña, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Hermanas Mirabal, Independencia, La Romana, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monsignor Nouel and Montecristi.
Similarly, in Monte Plata, Pedernales, Peravia, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, San Juan, San Pedro de Macorís, Sánchez Ramírez, Santiago Ramírez, Santo Domingo and Valverde.
In all the aforementioned provinces there will be free movement of an additional three hours every day, for people to reach their homes.
On the other hand, a different schedule is established for the curfew in the provinces with the lowest level of contagion and the rate of positivity.
Different hours in seven provinces.
This will be in force from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the afternoon (ERROR) and on weekends from 9:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning.
This more relaxed schedule will be in the provinces Duarte, Espaillat, La Altagracia, La Vega, Samaná, Santiago and Puerto Plata.
As provided above, in these seven districts there will be a grace of free movement until 12:00 midnight, every day.
My take: Obviously this new curfew plan is a change from a recent proposal to not extend the curfew or impose strict curfew policies. The govt heads must have thought it over and decided to come up with this new curfew. Note, for now this measure is from June 2 until June 9th. After that, there is no telling what the govt may decide.
But as for 7 of the provinces with supposedly the "lowest level of contagion " which includes Puerto Plata province, the same curfew schedule that just ended will be applied during that time frame. When you think about it, technically, tonight May 31st and tomorrow June 1st, there really is no curfew schedule in place for Puerto Plata province.

One suggested work around, visit Sosua.
"The provinces Duarte, Espaillat, La Altagracia, La Vega, Saman, Santiago, Puerto Plata are the only ones that will have hours from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning, from Monday to Friday.

Thank you all so much for the orientation.
* Explaining a little "glitch" with the Alicia beach hotel.
* The Boca Chica vs. Sozua comparison.
And now we're talking Brazil, haha.

And boy there is quite a discussion now.
I am living most of my time in Brazil nowadays. I have a fateful history, with this country, haha. I was mostly in relationships. But I need to detox. Right now what's stopping me is that I don't have enough days on my visa allowance, and always try to avoid stepping into the trap of being considered a tax resident.
About that entire CoViD and Bolsonaro and Trump discussion, gents please, don't be pussies! Here is the thing, Bolsonaro is a jerk. Trump was doing some good but ultimately he was too weak and lost so many stand-offs where he needed to be strong and goddam say "YOU ARE FIRED" over and over just like in his show. Trump was spot on to so many things, but he was his own biggest obstacle, not because of Tweets or grabbing pussy talk but because of ultimate weakness and lack of leadership. Just that debacle of Jan. 6, it was his fault for not giving the people enough instructions to use their presence productively and not protect them from infiltration. As for Bolsonaro, he's a jerk and really a political insider. He wants to be Trump but he isn't. He is weak on China. The only good thing was he pushed back on the CoViD Tyranny which the state governors were as keen on unleashing as the several US state governors. And that kept Brazil relatively free. The CoViD mortality is not much worse as in the USA and really any western country. Don't be pussies looking hysterically at these numbers. Compute per capita death and discover that it's not that much difference to USA or France, etc. And we are all coming down from the peak. India is a bit behind on their vaccine production hence there is some shortage to move ahead faster with vaccination in Brazil, but it's only Brazil's socialist shithole condition that prevented them from being more innovative and develop their own. But overall CoViD is on the retreat.
Forget that CoViD shit, in Brazil it's nothing because it doesn't restrict your options and movements.
In Colombia and even DR CoViD is much more of a problem because it actually restricts what you can do!
I love how you say enthusiastic service as characteristic for Brazil. And this is where I am getting at now.
I have second thoughts about DR. Serious doubts in fact.
I went to some Youtube videos of guys walking through and shily direct their camera at women who walk by. But man, what I see from DR and Sozua in particular is turning me off! I don't know if it's real but I don't really find much of any of these women there attractive. They tend to be fat and they walk around with these absolutely awfully disgusting "leggins shorts" for lack of a better word to describe it. I mean WTF! I do not feel turned on by this.
Here's another thing, looking at Photoacompanhante for Brazil or Photoprepagos for Colombia, you just have loads and loads of delightful pictures and though a good number of them are outdated (women posting their own pictures from 5 years ago) or many outright fake, still they give you an overall correct impression, because I do look at the girls standing around at near the cathedral of Sao Paulo and they match more or less and I have seen my small share of real world instances, where, despite almost always some of a let down, there is potential. And same for Colombia.
But when I look at DR pictures I find myself frantically searching for "Venezolana" or something to see something that I would like.
And then it gets worse, this photoprepagos site for DR, chiviricas.com, it is empty! There is nothing there! And that one real deliciously looking Venezolana, I actually contacted this agency, and it is completely NUTS! They ask for 150 to 250 USD for one fucking hour! Imagine that! You end up paying more for these gals in DR than if you spend a relaxed evening in Panama at Habano's taking your pick among a huge number of options and pay 100 for an hour or 150 for two hours unrushed.
So I am afraid I'll be sitting there in DR dreaming of long black hair of a Venezolana who I won't see or if I see her being surrounded by loads of blokes and asking for boatloads of money.
Yeah, I'm heading back to Brazil pretty quick it seems. And can't wait for Colombia quieting down. Or I will just anyway go to Baranquilla for beach.
I also looked at these all inclusive "sex vacation" which are crazy expensive for the hotel part, but hey, you get additional girls for less than 400 for the entire day at attention rather than haggling 250 USD for an hour of "meh" service. So it's something to consider just for the experience if you can afford it. Certainly not going to pay 250 USD for some flake shit from an agency if I can pay that for an all-nighter in Brazil or 250 BRL for a nice 2 hour session with some enthusiasm.
I might still stop in DR for a week, just to confirm my suspicion. But I have my eyes on Venezuela. Can't wait for CoViD lockdowns to finally be a thing of the past.

I had my doubts about Baranquilla yesterday as I looked at the map. There appears to be no viable beach. Yet, the mix of beach and good supply of WGs is the sweet spot trade-off. Bogota is bet for the supply, but not for the beach. As always I am open to recommendation. I assume nobody beats Rio de Janeiro again. :)
As for long hair vs. Weave that's the key issue about the ethnic difference between the Venezuela / Colombia / Brazil morena vs. The afro descendant. While most Colombianas are using some form of straightening agent on their hair, it's not as bad as the more afro descendants Dominicana ... and even more so Haitiana, who have the fine-curly thick hair and when it is straightened it doesn't even flow but remains stiff like in a manga cartoon, hehe.

I share your observations about the perception of beauty and service in Brazil vs DR. Beauty is in the eye of beholder and some of those DR asses are too big to behold.
However, I disagree with your observation regarding Covid. Based on the data compiled by NY Times as of June 1, 2021 (see the attached table), the Covid death rate (per 100,000) for Brazil was 0. 88, based on seven days average. The same number for USA and DR were 0. 12 and 0. 02, respectively. That means Brazil's average death per 100,000 is 7 x that of US and 44 x of DR. If you compute the mortality rate for Covid patients (I. E. , chances of dying among those who get infected), the numbers for Brazil, US and DR are 3%, 2. 3% and 0. 2%, respectively. That means that the mortality rate for infected people in Brazil is 1. 3 x those in USA and 14 x those in DR. Brazil is a cluster fuck of even greater magnitude than USA. DR is amazingly safe until now, but the disease is on the rise and worse may be yet to come. Thankfully, things are improving in USA rapidly and Brazil somewhat slowly.

Only a serology survey could establish a correct denominator to be able to determine the true lethality of infection but for unknown reason the pseudo-science worshipping CoViD tyrants and their useful idiots never did run large scale serology survey. I guess they preferred the panic generated by the fake news using squishy numbers.

They even named the virus, TrumpVirus in his last year of office, blamed him for killing 600,000 citizens, but hid the fact that the USA per capita death rate, was consistently lower than its EU counterparts.
But, hey, it worked.
From Jan. 20 to April 28, Biden's first 14 weeks in office, the CDC reported 156,096 new COVID-19 deaths. John Hopkins reported 160,540, because it uses a slightly different methodology. But Joe gets a pass from the MSM.
Politics as usual. LOL.

SS, you are right. I was comparing recent infection, based on the last one week's numbers. That is what is relevant for current travel planning. Current numbers.
If we want to compare the final tally, we will have to wait until the pandemic is over. Why? Because the pandemic did not start at the same time around the world. Brazil or India started much later than say Italy or USA. It is like a 60-year-old declaring that he has fucked more women than a 25-year-old, based on their score now. That will be unfair, right? The cumulative number are highly misleading, unless the pandemic in two country started roughly at the same time or until the pandemic is over. And by that time, neither of us will care about this.

They can be cherry picked to show just what you want them to show.
I'm a Canadian citizen, who needs to get back for business and personal reasons for a couple of months, but no Canadian airlines are flying to or from the DR.
There's also a 3 day enforced quarantine at a hotel, before a 14 day home lockdown, for returning travelers, even though I'm a healthy individual coming from a lower risk environment in DR to a much higher risk, in Toronto.
Now here's the political bit.
There's a G7 Summit in the UK in June, where hundreds of government personnel and press folk will be attending.
Just in time for that meeting, a "Government Commission" has decided to lift the "onerous" 3 day mandatory hotel stay!
Can't have politicians and their Media pals subject to the same rules, as the common folk, LOL.

Can't have politicians and their Media pals subject to the same rules, as the common folk, LOL.That is democracy in action for you, in good and bad, as your Winston Churchill had spoken of: messy; But would you much rather live in China, or say, Russia or for heaven's sake, Kim Jong Un's fabled land?

Your table is misleading. It mumbles about current daily averages.
All that matters is the final tally. How many people died total per capita. And NYT is fake news anyway. I get my data from the Johns Hopkins dahsboard https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 you have to do the per capita calculation yourself, and those same numbers come out on some Google tool right in the search engine. There is no real doubt about any of this. You can only look at total deaths, the "infected pepole" number means nothing. Only a serology survey could establish a correct denominator to be able to determine the true lethality of infection but for unknown reason the pseudo-science worshipping CoViD tyrants and their useful idiots never did run large scale serology survey. I guess they preferred the panic generated by the fake news using squishy numbers.I am not certain what medical school Stinky went to, but the "pseudo-science worshipping (sic) CoViD tyrants and their useful idiots " have been doing serologic surveys of COVID-19 in the USA for a long time now, and the data are available on the CDC web site. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#national-lab.
The data are only as good as the means that re used to collect the data. Brazil and the DR have a shortage of testing and (unlike the USA), most people have to pay to get tested for COVID-19. So the true denominators of COVID-19 in these countries is hard to determine. On the other hand, my GF's grandmother died of COVID-19 in Manaus in January largely because they couldn't get her into a hospital or but oxygen. Things have gotten worse in Brazil since January (and Manaus may be having yet another wave of infection). I have head of no such stories in the DR from my friends there, including my main chica, who was hospitalized for one night with COVID-19. Even in the absence of detailed data, I would be a lot more comfortable in the DR than Brazil. Finally, the COVID tyrants convinced me to get vaccinated, and so far the RNA vaccines are performing great against variants in Brazil, India and the UK. I suspect a vaccinated individual could safely travel anywhere in the world right now.
Thank you all so much for the orientation.
So I am afraid I'll be sitting there in DR dreaming of long black hair of a Venezolana who I won't see or if I see her being surrounded by loads of blokes and asking for boatloads of money.DR is a trend, for brothers to flash their cash.
Gents,
I'm an old school hobbyist who's back in the game and could use help making my travel plans this year. I went to Rio earlier this year and had a great time! I love beach towns with great dining, and golf courses nearby, and Ipanema scores a 10 in all categories. I speak enough Portuguese and Spanish to get around. And the covid BS was minimal in Brazil earlier this year, which is important to me.
Where can I go in DR to get:
4 or 5 star accommodation.
A great beach experience.
Fine dining.
Golf courses.
And of course, chicas. I'm partial to UTR, SB girl next door types so I'll source them online pretty easily.
And will the DR not require any quarantine upon arrival?
Thanks in advance Gents!

Question. In August I will be departing from Cartagena Colombia for Dominican Republic however I have a 3 hour layover in Miami. I will get the PCR exam conducted 72 hour prior to departing from Colombia. Will the results of my test in Colombia be accepted in the DR even though I had a layover in Miami? I'm trying to avoid all potential problems. Any advice appreciated.

The only test I took was to return back into the states. (Antigen).
Ensure to fill out the Migration form online before entering the DR. And also for leaving. https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/.
Hello Don Gringo,
I recommend the beach town of Bayahibe. Beautiful beach off the beaten path with all the perks near by. Its located 2 hours outside of Santo Domingo. Most of the chicas are located in La Romana which is about 20 minutes away from Bayahibe. Is this the DonGringo from the Havana board on WSA?

Been off the grid for a while but returning.
Appreciate the heads up on Bayahibe. Can you offer any insights on how to score the semi pro action nearby? Online resources appear to be pretty scarce with talent.

For return to the US (but if somewhere else, I have no clue), you need the antigen test (2000 pesos) - typically available within the same day.
Hey guys,
I just left Medellin Colombia about 3 weeks ago, and I had so much fun. I am now planning a trip to the DR. What is the best place for escorts and SW?
At the moment there is no set date to end the curfew. The emergency is to August 26,2021 Expect soon an announcement to phase out the curfew step by step depending on the jabs / health situation, so we can see the schedule when the curfew can be lifted.

Curfew will be completely eliminated per each province starting July 21,2021 when 70% of the population in that province get 2 shots of the vaccine.

Starting the 14th curfew will be from 11pm on weekdays and 9pm on weekends. Then on the 21st it will be at 11pm everyday until as you said, each province has a 70% vaccination rate, at which time it will be dissolved in that particular province.

Just a note, I would like the curfew to be lifted in the province I plan to visit, and the provinces where chicas come from (Cibao region, Santo Domingo etc). When it actually happens, I don't know.
I flew in and out of SDQ recently on a discount airline for convenience first and some cost savings. However, I spent 2-1/2 hours on my outbound flight in line just to check in and 1-1/2 hours at SDQ on my return which does not include going through airport security or customs. On my previous trips I flew on a Major carrier and breezed though the checkin & baggage line.
On my next trip in to the RD, I will probably take the larger carrier.
My 2 cents.

Hello fellows,
I am about to put my feet on the ground of DR next week and did how it was advised in this forum: Prepared a tinder profile with a couple of pictures and set my current location to Santo Domingo. Indeed, almost every time I swipe right, I get a match. Crazy world. That's how the stunners feel every day in their life. Nice change of perspective and a lot to learn from.
Well, I assume that most of the chicas that I matched are real pros (although not telling that) or at least semi-pros (those who declare to have a regular job, looking for "amor de vida" Almost all of them say an immediate yes, if I ask after a little bat of chatting, if they are up to having a drink in BC when I will have arrived.
On other places I read, that it can get you into trouble if I fail to define prices upfront. Going through what could look like a regular date, having sex and being presented the invoice only after having consumed the meal may end in serious and bad surprise.
Now I'm asking myself: What is the best way to talk about a price with girls that want to keep the illusion of a regular date? If I ask "what do you want for 2 hours?" or "2000 for 2 shots? The real pros may answer correctly, but the semi pros (that I'm even more interested in) will be gone after such a question. If I tell them that I made bad experiences and need to know whether they expect money for offering their time to a stranger, we might end up in paying for the time but not for sex.
So, how do the experienced members here play that online game in a country, where it is usual for some to present large invoices if communication ex ante was not totally clear?
Looking very much forward to your answers and update on my experiences!
Stradivari.
Well, I assume that most of the chicas that I matched are real pros (although not telling that) or at least semi-pros.. Snip...Now I'm asking myself: What is the best way to talk about a price with girls that want to keep the illusion of a regular date? . ..Snip.. We might end up in paying for the time but not for sex..I think your assumptions are correct. I doubt you'll find many on tinder that want to keep the illusion of a real date. Jaja. You might want to say something like "I plan on helping you out a bit, I was thinking probably 2 K so you could get a nice dress or something, since we won't have time to go shopping.” That's after you say I want you to stay with me for three hours please because I like you. Make sure you make her say about 20 times that she'll stay three hours. Then she'll probably say 2500 or 3000. But whatever. If y'all have a good time, youd probably want to give her that anyway, that would be considered an extra. And I doubt if it really matters how many "pops" you talk about, or if that's even worth talking about. If she digs what's going down, she'll want to stay. If she decides to split early, she's going to want split early whether or not you try to force her to stay. And what's the point of that, why would you want someone in your place that doesn't want to be there. But either way, she's still going to want 3000p. 3000p for three hours equals 1000p per hour. But that doesn't mean one hour equals 1000p. Jaja. If that happens, just smile, give her the money, and get her out of your place. In my experience, Tinder is mostly for financial transactions. Cupid you have a higher chance of finding chicks a little less rough around the edges.
You might have a great time. Tell her in the beginning that if you like each other, you want her to come back. If she is supposedly not a professional hooker, that's what she wants also, right? It's just luck of the draw. Its a cross between being lucky, and how well you vetted them. If she mentions money in the first two or three sentences that should be rather telling. That doesnt mean its going to be bad, it just means shes coming to collect money.

That should let you know what is going on. The ones trying to keep an illusion will only keep it until they get to your place. Then they will want you to hurry up and fuck so they can leave with the money. I do not really suggest using Tinder if you are staying in Boca Chica. Most chicks are going to live in Santo Domingo or San Pedro, so you will rack up a ton of transportation costs if your girl does not want to take the bus. Also nobody from those areas is going to come to Boca Chica in the late afternoon or evening, so I hope you like having your company in the morning or early afternoon. In addition, the new trend of Tinder chicks is no less than $100.

Thank you Sam 14 and Mr. Enternational. I appreciate that information and will report on my experiences. Sounds like I should add the Dominican Cupid to the portfolio.
. I went on Amazon and bought a juice extractor .. I hope it works! The logic on this is obvious: A persistent cough and / or bronchitis is usually a viral infection. That's why it's stupid to take antibiotics for a cough unless you're sure it's bacterial. When it was finally deep in the lungs once, my friend gave me strong antibiotics and that finally knocked it out. That's how I knew it was pneumonia, which is usually a bacterial infection. So ginger is an effective antimicrobial. Antibiotics destroy or inhibit only the growth of bacteria. Antimicrobials destroy or inhibit the growth of all microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and viruses. So ginger is a potent antiviral as well. I planned on doing my industrial strength treatment for three days, in the morning before food. The second time I went the full three days and by the end of the third day the cough was pretty much gone. The first time I only did it once. The second day I missed because someone came over. By the second night, the cough was starting to go away so I left it at that. The next morning the cough was pretty much gone, then totally gone soon after. I should add I always take allot of vitamin C, like 10 grams a day (10,000mg) or more if needed.
The trick is to break the ginger in pieces so I could scrub it real good because I didn't want the dirt. I used about 16 ounces of pure juice and then cut it with water to make about 20 ounces. (A beer glass). Then added ice. When I got that down a little ways (after almost vomiting) I added about 3 tablespoons of honey which is antiviral also. At that point it becomes almost drinkable.
On a related note (DYI remedies, bacteria and sex). The vagina is loaded with bacteria. As you all presumably know, it ranges from sweet and flowery, like aromatherapy--To everything else. A bad smelling vagina doesn't necessarily mean bad hygiene or that she's got someone's morning load rotting away up there (although that's entirely possible, this *was* transferred from the Boca Chica thread. Haha).
I wasn't with a large amount of girls in the Philippines (probably <100), but a large percentage of them had something annoying going on down there. Most of these chicks were clean with very low mileage. I would frequently be the first foreigner they ever talked to, and they maybe only had one or two Pinoys inside them. So I concluded it has to be the diet. The average poor Filipina's diet is horrible. It's 90% white rice and the rest is other dead material. I've had a bunch of Filipinas ask me "why do poriners like vegetables?" I had been working on one, and it was finally time. She was about to become my girlfriend. She was extremely hot but there were only two problems: Her breath stunk so I couldn't kiss her, and her vagina stunk so I couldn't eat her. I said "Baby. Do me a favor please. . Take two of these a day, and come back in five days please". I actually amazed myself, it fuckin worked! Whatever that shit is that I gave her, it balanced out the bad bacteria in her body with the good bacteria. Needless to say, I was munching away after that and she damn near swallowed my tongue a few times. That's the first and only time I've tried that remedy so it might've just been a fluke. But I've kept a strip of that medicine ever since, and I always will. I hope to try it again soon, soon as I find another hot girl with bad breath and a smelly box that I want to make my girlfriend. I'll be sure to report back!

. Antimicrobials destroy or inhibit the growth of all microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and viruses.Edit: The term microorganisms doesn't include viruses which are generally classified as non-living, but they're sometimes classified as microorganisms. (like in the piece I obviously copied). But nevertheless ginger is a powerful antiviral. Sorry.
. Last night was my first attempt for sexual pleasures. Once again I was dealing with a half erect penis.Hang in there amigo, I'm glad life is still worth living. I'm sure you'll be back to 100% soon. By the way, thanks for the great write ups in the Sosua thread last month. You had me laughing!
Speaking of funny, here's one on Playa Alicia. She looked good so we played in the surf together. Turns out her brother was driving for her (pimping her out). We started talking about it and she said she wanted $100.

Straw hat.I know a bit about this and it's because of the explosion in summer flying. Many airlines downsized and haven't been able to ramp up fast enough now that everything is open again. This is actually a problem across all the carriers and sort of trickled down to affecting flights in / out of the DR. Delays across the US due to weather cause problems as the planes are routed all over the place. Planes stack up due to these delays and everyone shows up to the airport at the same time for all the stacked up delayed flights. The DR gov't just recently called one of the major airlines to the carpet for this very issue and it should be improving over the next couple of months (hiring more people to staff for the stacked up flights) since there are eyes on the problem.
There really is no perfect flight to book as stuff can always happen to any airline. Right now, especially, make sure you give yourself extra time when flying in and out.
Hey folks, please bear with me.
I have already read a fair bit of posts both here as well as in the Sosua and Boca Chica Thread but either I can't find what I am looking for or its already quite old and possibly outdated.
We are 2 guys visiting for our first trip to Dominican Republic. We do not speak Spanish but are quite adept with smartphones: the (I have previously been to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo and never really had any issues, managed quite well without knowledge of the language, hoping it will be similar in Dominican Republic).
We only have 2 weeks and want to make the best of it. Which places would you recommend, especially considering mongering as main priority with some nice weather and beaches thrown in as bonus. We are planning on staying in Santo Domingo 3 days and then going to Sosua for about 7-8 days. Not sure what we will be doing after that however. Boca Chica or Punta Cana? Prices seem very intransparent.
Do they have bars with onsite rooms and such or is it always bringing a girl back to the hotel?

No need to make a special trip just because of Boca Chica. You can go there one day while in Santo Domingo to see if you like it and want to spend more time there after Sosua. Go at maybe 3pm so you can check out the beach, and stay until 7pm or 8pm to see how the strip is after nightfall. It usually takes me less than 40 minutes to drive there from Santo Domingo.
Punta Cana is mainly resorts for couples and families. Great beaches, but if you are going for chicks I suggest you don't, unless you want to pay the same prices as tourist that only have a couple of hours to be away from their wives.
After already having experience in Brazil, you may want to cry when you get to DR. But you will not know unless you try it. May turn out to be your cup of tea.

This isn't my first visit but I'm alone so I haven't done much street exploring past sunset. Most of my mongering has been in Santo Domingo so far. I've been using the skokka website. Selection varies from day to day, a lot of fake profiles & hustlers trying to get your money, just have to screen good for what you really want. Visited Punta Cana and met some very hot chicas at the resort. They quoted prices that I won't even pay in the US but I know a bit of Spanish and was able to negotiate lower. I would only recommend mongering at Punta Cana if you don't care about spending as it's a lot more expensive there than all other places. From my experience the beach at Boca Chica is a good spot to hang out and fish for prospects. Never been to Sosua yet but I've heard that's monger capital.
Good luck and enjoy your stay.

Our hotel in Santo Domingo is in Zona Colonial close to the Independence Park. Since we will only have such limited time in Santo Domingo are there certain hotspots that you could recommend closeby to Zona Colonial during day or night where one will be sure to find some mongering action?
We woul ideally try to avoid having to drive from one end of the city to the other and back and forth all the time and rather have 2-3 encounters and then focus the rest of the limited time in Santo Domingo to checking out the city itself.

There is Oasis and Foxy a short walk to the malecon, but as you can read in the reports here by other guys, they are going to get you for $100 or more. GBP is just a short drive and chicks there will only cost you $26. There is also a Venezuelan casa in Zona Colonial with good prices actually. Hit me on PM and I will give you the whatsapp.
I don't know what you are expecting to see in Santo Domingo, but the little tourist stuff there is is right there in Zona Colonial and you can knock that out in a couple of hours. I can't think of any more tourist stuff that would be in another part of the city. Maybe someone else knows better.
Still, I would definitely make Boca Chica a part of those Santo Domingo days. Or even leave the airport and go straight to Boca Chica for the first night. It is 10 minutes leaving to the right of the airport and Santo Domingo is 30 minutes leaving to the left.
Fellow gentleman,
I am new on this page, but not new to the game. Although I only mongered in countries I was speaking the language of the same so far. Oh no, that is not right, I used to monger in Brazil.
Anyway, I'm the newbie from Germany. And I will visit Punta Cana in October this year. First vacation after two years of only work and I am really looking forward to it.
Why Punta Cana: Because there is a direct flight from Frankfurt there, so I grabbed it.
I now have several options and I would like your opinions: I can stay at a resort. I like it, when I really don't have anything to do, except for laying at the beach and getting the food and drinks into me, that are being offered. I want to rest for ten days, before I get back to work in Germany.
But.
I also enjoy the company of a sweet, pretty lady to fuck every now and then. They don't have to stay with me the whole day. But every now and then, I like to get my dick sucked and stuck it in some nice Caribbean lady. I guess in a big resort they don't like to see that different girls are coming to visit me. For this reason, an AirBnB would be better, right?
So I am somehow stuck between these two options: Resort where it is a very relaxed, laid back holiday. Or an airbnb to better get laid.
Any comments? Ideas? Or am I getting this wrong and a resort would be fine?
I already logged in to dominicancupid. Boy that was way to early. Thought it would be harder to get numbers there. But I am online only for a couple of days and I already have some 50 numbers from chicas (although I already blocked at least 30 of them because the all want me to send them money).
Resorts charge high prices for guests you will pay through the nose. Punta Cana is not a good place to meet working girls. PC is all about family vacations. You fine sex anywhere in the world but is it reasonable and acsessable. PC not so much.
Thank you very much for your reply. My flight is directly to Punta Cana and I don't want so spend another couple of hours in a transport to Santo Domingo, so I guess I'll be staying in the area.
Primarily I want to relax and get my head free from all the work in Germany. I am working my ass off since Covid started and it's my first vacation for over two years now. So my main purpose for this trip is relax and enjoy the beauty of this island. If. On top of that. I find a nice girl (s) that enjoy some happy time with me, I will be more than happy.
So is Punta Cana really totally dead? Or is there the chance to meet some (working) girls?

For a rank newbie from Europe, I usually recommend an initial lay up for a couple days at Blackbeards to blow off the jet lag and sex tensions.
Then boot camp Sosua to get familiar with the game.
Then if you graduate from that, the surrounding area PP, Cabarete is your at your disposal.
I wouldn't recommend the time consuming, often disappointing hit / miss / switch online game with complete strangers for a newbie.
In his case, flying in to PC, a stop over in Boca Chica might be productive?
Resorts charge high prices for guests you will pay through the nose. Punta Cana is not a good place to meet working girls. PC is all about family vacations. You fine sex anywhere in the world but is it reasonable and acsessable. PC not so much.I have to respectfully disagree with this. I have been to Sousa, Santo Domingo, lived in Colombia and while PC is a resort town, there is plenty of pussy to be had. Every time I have been with family on vacation I have gone to Steve's Corner Bar or Car Wash and pulled nice looking chicas and took them up the street to the short time motel for $60 for an hour.
Now if you are looking to TLN then an apartment is the way to go and I would rent in the area called Cortecito as it is near all the pussy for sale action and can be had for under $80 a night.
Yes, la capital and Sosua are much better but PC has plenty of chicas available if you want that to be your base camp.
Have fun and relax.

The sea is polluted, hotter, higher crime etc. Want a higher end, then go to the capital from the airport. Folks who fucked up in Sosua usually praise Boca as some kind of a nice spot. As for Punta Cana, yes, can be done, but double the cost with half of fun, and some sea weed in between.

I realize that it could be an entirely differet place just a few hours later. But I stuck my head in Blackbeards. As an aside, guys that haven't been there should understand it's in a residential neighborhood. And it's not even Puerta Plata, it's Costembar. There's nothing there. Well, down the road a bit there's a nice strip of beach that's beautiful, it's more picturesque than PP in my opinion. And there's a few shacks for food and drink. But that's it. There's not even a town, and there's no other pussy places that Im aware of.
Anyhow, 10 years ago when I was there I shagged the girl that won the bikini contest. (I'm sure her friend won it the next night). There was at least eight chicks at a given time, sometimes more. It was a happening pool scene with allot of hot, chocolate trim running around in bikinis during the day and night. This time when I walked in the front gate (you wouldn't even know it's a club, it looks like another house), I passed the guards and walked into the kitchen / bar area beside the pool. There were two women drinking and smoking and sitting with a couple men. These chicks, I wouldn't even consider girls. I mean I wouldn't consider them sexual objects, I don't know what they were. There was a third one sitting by herself. This girl had a cute face and could be considered a pretty woman. But she was big. And was much older than I'm used to (mid 30's maybe? No doubt the mother of at least two). I've been shagging since the 70's, and I can't recall ever lowering my standards that low. I mean I guess if she wanted to shag for free, I probably would. Actually, I probably wouldn't because I'the have to use a rubber and I just wouldn't be into it. Anyway, I asked how much for short time. An hour or two in the room was the same price it would've cost for the entire night. And I forget how much for the girl but I guess it would've been around $100 or more all in all. I just said gracias, and left. It's just so far out of the way. If I was new, and I was expecting something exciting, I would need a 60 ton crane to rise to the level of disappointment.
I'm not knocking your suggestion, it may be a good idea. And you probably know a lot more about the place then I do. And like I said, later that same night it could've been an entirely different scene. Maybe some were occupied in the rooms and maybe others show up later. So I like your idea, but I would definitely want to have my own transportation if I went there. I was on a motorcycle so I had a blast roaming around the area and even riding on the sand. Since there are lots of places to rent motorbikes in Sosua now, renting a bike there and making the ride might be an idea. Just be careful because those stupid fully automatic scooters with small wheels are death traps. Or he could rent a car at the airport first, trip around Puerta Plata / Costembar, then taxi to Sosua. Just a thought.

BB's is obviously not for you or I, but I was thinking for a DR newbie, getting to see BB's, BC and Sosua on his first trip will give him an idea where he wants to spend his time and money. Same with hotels. You don't want to be married to the first hotel that accepts your online reservation.
I like Constambar beach for a relaxing afternoon, but you need to organize your return transportation before you go.
I can't see any real case made for Boca. The sea is polluted, hotter, higher crime etc. Want a higher end, then go to the capital from the airport. Folks who fucked up in Sosua usually praise Boca as some kind of a nice spot. As for Punta Cana, yes, can be done, but double the cost with half of fun, and some sea weed in between.I totally agree!
I've spent time in all 3 places, and checked out BB's one lunchtime.
My choice by far is Sosua, for the reasons given here many times, but obviously some folks find it a "shithole".
So for a newbie, I just mention his options.

And like I said, later that same night it could've been an entirely different scene.BB is simply a motel in the back of a far off neighborhood and they have chicks hanging out there. I think it does it for the guys that go there because there is no haggling of price or chicks trying to rip them off. It is pretty much a controlled, hassle-free mongering environment opposed to the "in the wild" environment of Sosua where chicks are apt to steal your shit, jack up the price afterwards, and call the police on you.
For newbies BB is a dream come true for Americans. Young attractive girls are point and click for 40 50 bucks a pop. The fact that the attractive girls are in high demand so you have to wait is acceptable. Until you go to Sosua and see scores of willing girls many more attractive then BBs chicas. Everyone has their own standards and requirements. I try to get the best of both worlds I go to SD and hook up with my whatapp girls. They give me GFE which I enjoy. After a few days in the Capitol I long for the streets and beaches of Sosua. This gives me a chance to meet new girls to add to my roster. The vast majority of Sosua girls give you your moneys worth. Yes there are a few bad apples but they are the acception. Thousand of guys post up in Sosua because it is lots of fun at a great price.
Thank you guys for all your different ideas and opinions. Really appreciate it!
Coming back to my original question AirBnB or Resort. I decided to go with an AirBnB and take it from there. Remember, my main intention is not mongering but relaxing. I will report back in the PuntaCana section of the board when I am there. Stay safe everyone!

Ok fellas so the last time I was in the DR was I believe in 2009. Had a great time in Sosua and Puerto Plata. I live in Toronto, Canada and the flights to DR are long, expensive or both. If I get an AI package it can be a little cheaper but the issue is ypu can't bring girls in.
So I finally found a ticket for about $600 CDN going to Santiago. I'm planning to go to Sosua right after we (me and my wingman) land. My question is, is there a bus that goes to Sosua around that time? I'm a Cuban vacation veteran but new to DR. Any advice will be appreciated and I will return the favor. Thanks.

Thanks.Hey Sammy, first we have to get your mindset up to date Sir. You are still thinking it's 2009 if you expect 25 usd hotels, and you probably still think it's 20 usd pussy. I think Rockys has been closed awhile now, and honestly it was a dump. Only thing still the same in Sosua is the beach. New Garden, Casa Valeria and Europa will serve your accommodations at prices from 38 usd to 70 usd. No more girls getting 20 usd for a weekend stay, now it's 100-200 an hour or two. Even the Haitian girls are asking top dollars, the game has changed bro.
At 11 pm arriving in Santiago I would recommend staying that night at Matum hotel and catching the bus to Sosua in the morning. You seem budget conscious so what you would pay a cab 80-100 usd for a night trip to Sosua, you could pay a nice hotel in Santiago with breakfast and still have money for the bus ride.
In 2009 Sousa was reaching its peak and it was paradise, don't expect that Sosua.
I would consider going to a Cabana in Santiago 20 bucks for 4 hours. Santiago has some decent talent roaming the streets. I have a Uber hook up who could take care of you. Chill out there and go Sosua in morning 190 pesos Santiago Las Colinas, Caribe Tours leaves every half hour on the hour. I checked the schedule and the buses run all night from this locarion. Rockys was real low budget. Try Europa it will be an upgrade.

We will have luggages with us. How safe are those places? Don't want unwanted attention.
Most are like 4 star hotels. King size beds grand bathrooms and they roomier then most Hotels. Having your luggage should not be an issue. I think it is a very good option.

Don't know what cabanas you have been in. Does DR even have 4 star hotels? Jaragua I guess. But years ago when I was in a cabana with a chick and started getting claustrophobic because there were no windows, she described a cabana as just being a fuck box, a box to fuck in.

Old Kool is right some of the cabanas are very nice but others are just basic fuck spots. You need a certain comfort zone to enjoy the cabanas in the Dominican Republic but you are also vulnerable with usually being isolated with some seedy characters working there. No windows and one door make you feel locked in. They know some guys come in on that late flight and just want a place to lay their heads, so here you are walking up with luggage, not speaking fluent Spanish, and hoping for the best.

Yeah, I remember paying like 1500 to 2000 DOP back then. One time Nelson (my dominican driver friend) took me to a working girl house in POP and I paid the man running the place $100 USD and took a spinner light skinned broad home for the while night. Don't know how much she got put of it. I thought I overpaid LOL! I was going to initially go to Cuba where I bang university chicas for $30 to $40 and they're not hardcore mostly. The drawback is they look you up for a couple of days until your covid results are back and food sucks, especially now. Oh well. Guess I have to put in some overtime $$.

Every Cabana I have stayed in has been excellent. Some have jacuzzis and piped in music is the norm. Many have furniture for special positions. I have stayed cabanas in SD Santiago,San fran and Sosua all have decent. Google DR cabsnas. Leave it to Mr E to find a one low end place and make the norm. Most are so nice girls are pumped to go. Did my 1st 3 some in SD in cabana was awesome experience. Some i have seen are multi level. I see no need for Windows when fucking. 4 hours 500 to 800 pesos

I would consider going to a Cabana in Santiago 20 bucks for 4 hours. This just made me think of a funny ass story from last week that I was supposed to post on the Colombia thread. Me and another board member were out in Bogota doing some casa hunting. He was following the map with all the spots on it. So we come to this one place where the map says the chicks are expensive. We walk up close, but the security guard tells us we want the place across the street. We go over there and walk into a garage area where that security guard tells us to take the stairs up.
We go up one floor and there is a lady at the desk. She tells us to follow this lady dressed as the maid. So we get into the elevator with her and she takes us up a couple of floors. We leave the elevator and follow her into a room. Then she asks if we would like something to drink. I started cracking up laughing. I said noooooo. We are here looking for chicks. It was a love motel (cabana in DR) and they thought we wanted a room together since we walked in together. We went back downstairs to the desk and I gave that lady an earful while still cracking up.
After that, those 2 ladies tried to figure out where we could get chicks from, but we told them nevermind because we had a map. We left there and went to a spot where you pay $13 to get in and you have 2 hours to fuck 4 chicks. Since I got there at 6:30 and they close at 8, the guy only made me pay $10. So I got to fuck 4 chicks 20 minutes each for $2.50 each.
Sam you better make sure off the bat if you pull up into a cabana that they know you and your boy want separate rooms unless you have chicks with you!
Most are like 4 star hotels. King size beds grand bathrooms and they roomier then most Hotels. Having your luggage should not be an issue. I think it is a very good option. One of the best Cabana I was in was in Puerto Plata on the main road going to Santiago. I met this this really pretty girl in Puerto Plata club. Wanted to take her to my hotel in Sosua. But she did not have a cedula. She suggested this Cabana. Forget how much it was but cheap. There is a gate and the girl talked to the reception on the box. They told her the number of the room. When we drove down the garage was open. We got in and closed the garage. All transactions were by a turnstile through the wall. We ordered food and drinks. We had a great time all night. Very sweet girl.
Another Cabana I stayed was in Santiago. There are many on the Airport road. That time I flew in to Santiago at a ungodly hour. I had reserved a car but the rental said they did not have any car left and they would provide me a room and bring the car in the morning. While I was waiting outside for the guy to give me a ride to the hotel I thought there was a nice looking girl by herself waiting for someone. I started talking to her and she was willing to stay with me. She later said she was waiting for some guy who would arrive on another flight. Anyway this Cabana was just like a motel not fancy but clean. There was a garden and bar which I guessed where people come to party and pick a girl and go to the room.
.. I started talking to her and she was willing to stay with me. She later said she was waiting for some guy who would arrive on another flight. Anyway this Cabana was just like a motel not fancy but clean.Haha. Wao. Too bad for him. Fuckin flight's delayed, then Sammon makes off with your trim. Win some lose some, I'm glad it was your turn!

Hi fellas. I was wondering if Tinder gets you pussy in DR. Here in Toronto it never works. I have matched with plenty of women but didn't even get a date. If not, how is Latin American Cupid? Anyone here has succes? What I want to do is make lots of contacts prior to getting there and then bang as many as I can while there. I will only be there for 1 week, most likely Santo Domingo. Oh BTW, what is a fair price to pay chicas there?? I guess negotiating $ might seem sleazy. What I do in Cuba (my favorite place in the world for mongering) is I meet a girl at a bar, club or university, take her out for a drink, make love and give her 20 USD. Most of them are happy. Thanks.
I used dominican Cupid back in the day and had great results still see my 1st after 10 years. However if you are coming the for the girls go to Sosua and make your life easier. You will not need any help. However Santo Domingo is not user friendly . You will need Spanish and transportation. also forget the 20 dollar ch=it . not happening

Gracias. All three are chica friendly. In my opinion Casa Valeria is best, then New Garden then Europa. Only one chica allowed in the room at one time at Casa Valeria which is not a bad thing, bringing more than one girl at a time to your room is a recipe for disaster anyway, unless you know them real well.
Sosua is one of the easiest places in the world to monger. The girls are looking for you and there* are over 100 running around. I would avoid girls who are too agrressive and always agree on a price before you take them to your room. If you make eye contact expect to be approached. Overall there is very little to know. Bailes restaurant is a good place to eat and see tghe girls. You will meet other guys who can tell where to go.

Planning a first trip to DR in a month or so and have been reading heavily here. Just found this site last week from the sister site.
Curious how legit Dominican Cupid is. I made a generic account just to probe around and check things out. Not too many hits, but didn't have a picture at first. I uploaded a (fake pic) yesterday and have been inundated with messages. Of course, you have to pay to see the messages and it's got me wondering if these are mostly bots just sending fake messages to get you to buy a membership. Not like that's not done on a lot of the other dating sites. I did have one message from a "gold" member that I could read as a non-paying member. But pretty sure we're not looking for the same thing!
I figure I'll make a real account and pay for a week or so once my trip gets closer so I can collect some numbers and have some options on hand if needed. My assumption is that most of the chicas that are in their early 20's and say they're looking for much older men are looking for "work". Just trying to gauge how many are real.
I should also mention that the fake pic I used was non other than "The Dude", Jeff Bridges. And I'm still getting flooded with messages and likes.
Caribe tours has express service to Sosua ever half hour from santo domingo. Trip is just under 4 hours was 5. 5. The bus was not crowded and seats were very comfortable. In Addition there is now Uber service in Puerto Plata. This is a game changer putting Puerto Plata night life in easy reach for guys in Sosua. Hope this helps and enlightings.

And I'm still getting flooded with messages and likes.Dominican Cupid is legit, and when I was a member many years ago, none of the chicas were fake. However, there were not many chicas. I usually searched for girls between 18 and 27, and never got a lot of hits. I met a beauty from Boca Chica and I had sex with her within the first hour that we met; however, when I tried to have sex the second time (a few hours later), she burst into tears and accused me of not being serious about a long-term relationship (which was true, although in my defense, I always told her that I only wanted sex).
In my opinion, Tagged (or hi5, a sister site) is much better. So is Badoo. There are many many more chicas. And with the exception of the chicas that contact you, they seem to be almost entirely looking for a BF or some money or both.

Hello,
I am currently in Colombia and have a vacassine certificate what in reality they need upon entry from Colombia? (return ticket PCR. Certificate).
Are the guest friendly hotels still allowing visitors during the pandemic? Going to the DR next month and wanted to see how the situation is there currently. Thanks.

Somehow the DR has Covid pretty much under control, my GF is a nurse and she was working with Covid patients, she was transferred to a different area over a month ago because there were very few cases lately.

I've been there three times since they reopened and never was asked for anything, they did do a rapid Covid test my second time.
Because I'll be flying in a few days, I just checked the airline website and it's still the same.

Hope this helps and enlightings.I have a Chica that lives in Santiago, does Uber operate from there with service to Sosua and returning from Sosua to Santiago? What I would like to do is just arrange the Uber for her by putting in her address to my address in Sosua using my UBER account.
Uber would cost you 3000 pesos and yes they would drive any where on the Island for a price.\Put her ass on the bus for 250 pesos. Not a difficult decision. The bus run every hour.

Guess you can send him a PM and ask.Your buddy should get his yellow fever vaccine in the USA. There have been Yellow Fever outbreaks recently in Sao Paulo and Minais Gerais states so the vaccine is quite useful for a trip to Brazil. Yellow Fever is a lot worse than COVID-19! One shot is good for life.
There is no yellow fever in the Dominican Republic, but the right type of mosquito is there (Aedes). I guess that is why they want people to be vaccinated, although the USA has the right type of mosquito in the south, and we haven't had a serious outbreak in over 100 years. It seems stupid to me, and I would bet the yellow fever vaccine requirement is not enforced by immigration authorities in the DR. But I can understand how he would not want to take the chance.
If he insists on waiting until he gets to Rio for the vaccine, he can go to any Posto the Saude and ask for one. The vaccine is free in Brazil. But, my experience with health care in Brazil is that it involves a lot of waiting around for the doctor or nurse. This is time that is much better spent in Termas Quatro Por Quarto!
Better double check t9 see if it is nothing. One BM was coming from Brazil a couple of weeks ago and needed proof of having a yellow fever shot.Philippines doesn't require yellow fever shot to enter either unless you're coming from a country that makes it required. Coming from Africa I had to show it otherwise I wouldn't have been allowed to check in. I questioned the lady and she brought back the book and showed me. Its probably required coming from Brazil since yellow fever exists there.
I'm sorry to hear about the new requirement in Brazil. Seems to me like before mandating it they should wait 5 to 10 years to determine the long term affects on the immune system, among many other extremely important concerns.
