The drivers do not ask a lot of questions. Keep a low profile and you will have no problem. It will save you about $20. To much luggage could be a problem. However a good tip tends to solve most problems.

Is that van operated by a tour agency? Can I book online?

Why is it located at departures and not arrivals?

Dominican Man kills Dominican Woman. Stuffs her body in a suitcase. Abandons the suitcase on the side of the road.

The Dominican Republic was a ghost town on my last visit. Again on El Conde you had locals trying to figure who was a tourist so they can fuck them over. Stop paying in fucking dollars and Euros in this fucking country they are only getting over on you! The last time I went to Casa Teresa it was me and one guy there the women wanted $150 or 7000 pesos. With the exchange rate being 63.4 at the time you do the math. You can easily western yourself up to $5000 and pay a minimum fee I'm just trying to save a guy some hard earned money.

Think in DOP. Know your prices of goods and services in DOP. Do the conversations in your head in DOP for each and every transaction you make. Until you become comfortable handing the currency.

IMO it also helps to speak Spanish. During my time posted up in the Dominican Republic and traveling all over the island, I found having a command of Spanish to be a tool that was personally very satisfying to have. I also feel you get more respect from local people and it prevents them from speaking ill of you in front of your face. Never will forget the first time a pair of Dominicans started talking about me in front of me. I declined to do the deal. I told them why in Spanish. Needless to say, they were quite surprised.

Hey Guys, been 10 years since I traveled to the DR. Used to be a $10 charge for the entry visa. This new eticket looks like $75 filled out on line. Is that necessary for US tourists traveling to the DR for less than 30 days? Seems expensive. Thanks in advance!
