Funny sidebar - I was sitting in Doug and Maty's with a buddy a few years ago when some girls came over and started "negotiating". Sometimes bringing along a girlfriend for moral support is legitimate IMO, particularly on a first date with a stranger. Girls have security issues. I've been on a few of these and they always went well, in fact sometimes having a third person there is good for conversation. I don't think it is inherently a matter of wanting to get a free meal at the expense of a foreigner.
Some girls do just want to use men however, particularly in places where foreign men are known to be looking for easy women... i.e. Ukraine. :)
If that happens I think it is pretty easy to recognize and that is when you kick the girl to the curb. It's riduculous behavior on their part.

Bordo - (metro Kitai Gorod) - Bordo is a combination strip club and brothel. As far as I can tell the girls there are not employees, but come by themselves freelance. There is no official striptease on the poles, and most of the time no one is dancing. Instead girls come over and will give you a lap dance and talk to you and try to get you to pay for a private dance or sex. Tipping at the table is a minimum 200 rubles (this is standard everywhere in Moscow now). A private dance for fifteen minutes is 3000 rubles. The asking price for full service is 15000 rubles for an hour, but I've negotiated down to 6000 for half an hour. Cover is 1000 rubles, Beer is 330 rubles, a hookah is 1600 rubles. It is very expensive, but the girls are stunning and a typical night has 20-30 girls and about the same number of clients. Walking in and seeing 15 topless girls and another 15 stunners all eye fucking the shit out of you makes for an interesting experience.
Show Girls - (metro Prospekt Mira) - This place is in the Olympic stadium (on the first floor - the sign reads KOKO). Lots of girls (20-30), again mostly stunners (all 8-10). Cover is 1000 rubles. Beer and food is cheaper (can't remember exactly, about 200 rubles for a beer). Hookah is 1000 rubles but very good, will easily last 3-4 hours as the coals are unlimited. There is no dancing at tables, and no sex on offer (well you can take out). You pay a girl 1500 rubles for a private dance of about 10 minutes. This only happens at certain times, and the rest of the time the girls join tables and party with the guys. Great for taking clients, etc. out to as the atmosphere is really lively and in between private dances it's just like a big party.

If the two of you, who know this technique and how to avoid it better than anyone else, and know Che as well as anyone, can't tell when the bartender is setting you up to get rolled when you pass up on any p4p, then there's not much hope for the rest of us, if we're gonna order anything from the bar.
Even a "special" bottle of beer, water, or iced tea, could always have had something injected into the top with a syringe, or had the bottle top cramped back on after adding tasteless GHB or a drop or two of fentanyl, then specifically picked for you from the rest by the bartender or waitress, so there's basically nothing safe, except bringing your own flask to drink, and if you're absolutely required to order something, then just leave it or accidentally spill it on the floor.
Maybe you should try to reverse the scam, somehow pretend to drink what they give you, maybe discreetly pour it into a plant or under the table, or pour it out in the toilet, then fake like you're passing out. Then when the bad guys show up to roll you, pull out your Walther PPK and surprise them with two slugs in the back of their heads.

As others have said, that looks fake or at least over-stated.
While I have not actually used it yet, www.rusdosug.com looks like the best web-site source for P4P - at least for those without Russian skills. What I didn't know was that her husband was there at the table. It was Eurovision night in Moscow and he dissapeared for some 20 minutes and the ladies and I carried on drinking. When he returned momentarily he then left again with his wife in tow for them to return ten minutes later with him having a cut on his cheek and a deep scratch on his neck. He sat down next to me and after a few minutes he explained that his crazy wife believed that when he went off to see the song contest results he had infact gone to have sex with another woman in the toilets? ! Knowing that earlier she was the one who had waited for me outside the gents I realized what a Machavelian crazy ***** she clearly was in thinking she could try to manipulate a situation where she would accuse her husband of one year of infidelity where he would storm out and leave us together? ! We carried on drinking but my enjoyment was more of the company of the decent Russian guy as opposed to the prospect of shagging what turned out to be his wife. It was the guy who I swapped numbers with at the end of the night and subsequently kept in touch with!

Kitay Gorod = China Town in Russian (and is an inner Moscow city METRO station).
Lubyanka is also an inner Moscow city METRO station. It takes its name from the adjacent "fortress", an ex-KGB headquarters, and often first point of interrogation, torture etc. for dissidents.

Aaaah I did wonder as these places have been mentioned quite a bit on here but I'm guessing a lot of these bars are located in Kitaj Gorod and Lubyanka districts.
What's the dress code in these places? I was last in Moscow on a Thursday night with crew and we just wanted a beer after our flight. After visiting a few empty bars like Karma we asked locals where was good to go and the same name kept recurring.'Opera Karaoke'. We went and weren't dressed for the strict dress code on the door. We waited outside for a taxi and my jaw was on the floor as one model after another arrived with a face code in operation to boot! The funny thing was that plenty of scruffy looking guys were getting out of their cars and had no problem walking in but I'm sure it's because each one of the egotistical wnkrs were revving the V8's of their Audi's to prove they were good for business prior to approaching the door!
I was going to wear a suit after this experience but now I'm not so sure especially if I decide to venture to one of the student mentioned places! A smart suit minus the tie is a winner usually anywhere but maybe I'll have to rule out Zona although unsurprisingly it sounds most appealing!

Being in my early thirties and often informed I have a resemblance of David Beckham and Gordon Ramsey (Go figure I Know) with an understanding if not total grasp of 'The Game' and I do OK when it comes to women. Sometime later after seeing us prepare to leave, the same women came out to the reception area and asked where I was going. I explained that despite me wanting to go for more drinks in Moscow, my fellow crew were being boring and wanted to rest. This had them asking me to join them and I played hard to get and in part ...not quite sure of the arrangement with the guys at their table. One of them who was a size 8, petite brunette with a perfect body in tight pants and figure hugging polo neck said it would make her night if I would join them if only for a few drinks. She said that she was married but she really wanted to spend some time with me. I didn't resist.
At the table with my basic Russian and their pidgeon English we drank Vodka and I was made very welcome with him saying how Russians respect those who try to learn thir mother tongue. What I didn't know was that her husband was there at the table. It was Eurovision night in Moscow and he dissapeared for some 20 minutes and the ladies and I carried on drinking. When he returned momentarily he then left again with his wife in tow for them to return ten minutes later with him having a cut on his cheek and a deep scratch on his neck. He sat down next to me and after a few minutes he explained that his crazy wife believed that when he went off to see the song contest results he had infact gone to have sex with another woman in the toilets?! Knowing that earlier she was the one who had waited for me outside the gents I realized what a Machavelian crazy ***** she clearly was in thinking she could try to manipulate a situation where she would accuse her husband of one year of infidelity where he would storm out and leave us together?! We carried on drinking but my enjoyment was more of the company of the decent Russian guy as opposed to the prospect of shagging what turned out to be his wife. Someone walks up to you on the street and tries to engage you in conversation "Where are you from? Oh, you're a foreigner! I love foreigners!" From there, the assailant will try to hug, wrestle or in some other way try to get in close, personal contact with you in an attempt to locate and extricate your wallet and/or other valuables. These will then be discreetly passed to an accomplice who will quickly get in a car and drive off, giving your original attacker some plausible deniability as to the whereabouts of your property. Steps to avoid such attacks are obvious: always be aware of your surroundings, don't talk with strangers on the street, and maintain physical distance with them at all times.
Doc and I also had a bad experience this week. We'd started with a couple beers at HD (watching a football match, certainly NOT the skanky hos who were working on that night), then proceeded to Che. It was a particularly bad night for talent at Che as well, so we ordered a couple of mojitos and tried to make the best of it. Doc was chatting up a 30-ish girl whose "boyfriend" had recently left. After an hour or so, she also left. We'd been buzzing after another round or two of mojitos, but well in control of ourselves. But within 20 minutes, we both were near passing out. We managed to grab a taxi and that's the last thing I remember before waking up in bed the next morning with a king-sized hangover that lasted the entire day and evening. It wasn't until recounting all the events that following night that we put it together that we'd been drugged. So as always, boys, keep an eye on your drinks!

After returning home and getting out of my taxi on one of Moscow's major "prospects", a second car with a driver and passenger stops on the street and the passenger gets out and says something to me in English and then rushes me and goes for my wallet. We struggle and I yell at him and fight him off and he runs back to his car, gets in and drives off.
I only pieced together exactly what happened the next day as I was still fucked up from the roofies, but in examining my room the next afternoon when I finally woke up I noticed that at least some part of my brain had been working. I had double-locked the door, checked my wallet to make sure I still had my money, checked to make sure I still had both phones and of course made sure I still had my passport.
Besides the actual adrenalin-charged struggle on the street however, I remember absolutely nothing between making the decision to leave Che and waking up the next afternoon feeling like zhopa.
I have no delusions of granduer about my krav maga skills however... had the attacker been more determined, armed, had both guys attacked or had the area of attack been more secluded, I could have been in serious trouble. Adrenalin and all, I was not in proper condition to fight a determined and skilled attacker. Most likely the bandit simply thought I was more trouble than it was worth.
It seems to me however that I was purposely targeted as a foreigner, after all the attacker approached me in English. Whether or not the attack was directly related to the drugging at Che I do not know.

He describes his "package" and how much money can be there, saying the destination. When he takes you to your destination they are already waiting for you. This thing became a regular type of operation in Moscow this summer but this is just a kid play. There are much more serious thing. A taxi driver robbing his customers using "Groza" electric stun gun. He operates at Sheremetyevo-2 dumping his stunned victims along the road so pay attention. Another taxi driver using a Makarov pistol robs his customers. A guy in the fifties, sharply dressed, pleasant and good english. Drives a dark BMW, at the end of the drive he asks you to pay your bill then pulls a Makarov demanding your money and credit cards. In August he robbed 17 foreigners (giving more than 120 total this summer - but this are only those who reported it and real number is probably much higher. Seems he specially likes to rob Belgians so if you're a Belgian pay attention. Moscow newspapers are regulary following his actions but probably all of you don't read it. There's a theory he's a cop. He even writes down address from passport saying if you go to police I got your address and I'll send my russian friends living in your town to pay you a visit.

I don't think I've ever been in a car in Moscow that had radio communication. Taxi or otherwise. Cell phone of course, but not a radio.

Never heard of that happening. There are two easy ways to avoid this:
1. Get a gypsy cab - just some Uzbek-looking guy that will give you a ride. 999 times out of 1000 he's happy to get whatever you give him.
2. Call a trusted cab service. This is an easy enough prospect. The bar can call one for you if you're too much of a dumbass to figure out how to do so on your own - I was in Yaroslavl when it was minus 30 and even Evroset was calling people cabs (maybe they get a kickback).
The only foreigners I've ever heard of getting clobbered in and out of taxis were very, very drunk. The only time I've purposefully called a cab service rather than just flagging down a taxi was at Gorbushka when I'd bought a flat-screen TV (the obvious reasoning is that if you want to lift a brand new flat-screen, there's no better place to find some sucker to put it in the trunk of your car).

He was Azeri if I remember correctly, my attackers were Russian. Also unlikely they were in it together.
I am sure taxi crime does happen, but from hundreds of taxi rides the drivers never gave me a hard time.

Right-O. And Strav, a moving taxi is best since there's very little chance that they could be casing you in the bar. Also, they'll almost always demand less money since they haven't been waiting 2 hours outside a bar for a single measly fare.
Kurenda - I haven't heard about the scenario you described, and it sounds pretty scary. But it doesn't add up. Does this guy in the BMW not have plates? Seems like it'd be child's play to track him down if he did. Afterall, the government has license plate recognition cameras all over the city. And if he doesn't have plates, then he's gonna get stopped by GAI. Which may be why they theorize he's a cop.

The club is quite nice. But to be honest, it did not quite meet my expectations after reading the posts here. I must admit it was a Saturday and Sunday, though. Around 20 girls. All nice looking. However perhas 3 of them in the 9/10 range. All others 7 to 8. 1.000 Rubel cover charge. The taxi driver usually also wants 1.000 to get you there and there will be another 1000 to get you back home. Which is already 100 USD just to get startet. The girls would come to your chair and dance a little. They expect to be tipped with 500 Rubel each time. However, I recognised other guys would give them 200 and they are happy aswell.
I actually invited one girl for several drinks, which is something like 1300 Rubel per drink and keeps the girl a while with you. Actually this can be a lot cheaper then tipping dozens of girls inbetween.
Private dances have been offered to me. The going rate was 100 US $ for 15 min full naked dance in some private room. For the room there was a rent to be payed, which was something like 25 US $.
I would say that the dancing girls and the general club atmosphere (light, music etc) were nice and appealing, the staff however appeared to be very annoyed. Probably because I kept paying in US Dollars.
After having experience with the German FKK scene, I must say it is no comparison at all and my expectations that I would see super top models with unforgetable breasts have not been met *LOL. Perhaps my fantasies have been to high.

Toto, I'm sorry it didn't live up to your expectations. I think a big part of that is just that if you act as a naive foreigner Russians try to take advantage of you. That's not to insult you, it's just that in Europe you can expect good service even as a foreigner, but in Russia you'll get swindled. There's no way you should have paid 1000 rubles for a taxi unless you were staying way outside the MKAD, more like 200 or 300. The taxis right outside clubs are always a bad deal (and sometimes dangerous), so you're better going to the nearest big street (and Bordo is right next to staraya ploshad). The cocktails are indeed a rip off, but if you were to just come in (with a cheap taxi) find one of the hottest girls at Bordo and fuck her for one hour along with one beer you'd be looking at about $300. That's not cheap, but not a total ripoff.
I do agree FKK is a better value.

The taxi driver usually also wants 1.000 to get you there and there will be another 1000 to get you back home. Which is already 100 USD just to get startet. The girls would come to your chair and dance a little. They expect to be tipped with 500 Rubel each time. However, I recognised other guys would give them 200 and they are happy aswell.
I actually invited one girl for several drinks, which is something like 1300 Rubel per drink and keeps the girl a while with you. Actually this can be a lot cheaper then tipping dozens of girls inbetween.
Private dances have been offered to me. The going rate was 100 US $ for 15 min full naked dance in some private room. For the room there was a rent to be payed, which was something like 25 US $.
I would say that the dancing girls and the general club atmosphere (light, music etc) were nice and appealing, the staff however appeared to be very annoyed. Probably because I kept paying in US Dollars.
After having experience with the German FKK scene, I must say it is no comparison at all and my expectations that I would see super top models with unforgetable breasts have not been met *LOL. Perhaps my fantasies have been to high.

Taxis don't cost 1000 rubels. You can rent taxis for 500 rubels/hour! Anywhere within garden ring should be no more than 300 rubels.
Don't pay anything in US$ or €, you'll lose almost every time. Pay in rubels.
Exception would be when pay a large sum to a pro, but make sure you use the real exchange rate. Generally speaking though, it's best to pay in the local currency.
Why tip 500 rubels? You can get away with 100 rubels.
Little things, but it adds up.

They stay there for a weekend and return to their homes Monday morning. So I watched. All those girl packed into the train leaving for Moscow at 6PM. My friend spoke few words with one nice looking girl before she boarded the train. I asked hew who is she, and got the answer they went to high school together and "tochka" is her weekend job. I commented when she's back I'll hit on her. My friend told me not to bother because all those girls are honest and hard to get when they are home. When train arrives to Moscow in 2-3 hours probably all those girls park near some road. Where they sleep I don't know but a cop in Moscow told me there are fights between local, established, or what ever tochkas and those "weekend" for a good spot. Massive fights with tens of girls from both sides. Anyway I figured those girls on return must come with one of the early morning trains from Moscow. So I was at the Tula train station around 8AM when train from Moscow arrived and there they were. Many of them got into the buses driving workers to TOZ (arms factory) so I guess most of those girls went straight to their work there and other places, schools, etc after returning from Moscow. On the train station I noticed also a girl I saw Friday afternoon.
Two days latter I found her in a club so went directly on her. She was like untouchable saying she's serious and interested in marriage only. I told her I know what she's doing at the weekend. Anyways, I am unexperienced to Moscow, do not speak one word Russian and I have been staying for 3 nights in a good hotel. You will always have to pay more in this case. My experience with taxi drivers is interesting. Although 500 Rb seems to be the going rate in moscow and it might pay off to pick some random driver from the street, my cheapest ride was with a limousine waiting in front of the hotel that first night. This guy asked 800 Rb, but he was able to bring me to Bordo right away. Actually, the next day I tried to be smarter and picked up a normal Taxi (but Taxi) from the street. I asked him to bring me to 911 Vip strip club, due to the good reports here. The driver actually agreed on 500 rb. Well, to make a long story short. After one hour drive through moscow this guy did not find the club. He finally stopped in one street and told me the club was in the backyard. I told him to wait, I was sceptic and had a look. Sure enough, when I returned he was gone. I had to pick another cab. This guy pretended he would know the club. He was aswell driving around and did not find it. Finally he put me off at Secret service. Because it took him aswell at least 45 minutes, he now insisted on 1000 Rb, which I had to give him. Secret Service actually is not that bad, but a little bit traditional Russian touch. About 30 girls, only 3 men. Cover charge 1000 Rb. Some stunners but I could not stand the Russian music there.
So I hooked up with the other two guys. They were german but spoke fluent Russian. I recommended to go to Bordo. These guys stopped a random car on the street and negotiated some super hot price (300 Rb) to go to Bordo.
We spend about 1 hr in the car trying to find Bordo. It was quite embarassing, since the driver stopped at every young couple to ask for the way *LOL. Anyhow, we already wanted to give up, when we finally made it. In the end we had to pay 1000 rb aswell.
When you come as business traveler, the time is limited and you probably only have one or two nights. In this time you want to find the super hot girl with super hot body, young, that is fun to be with and will give you a good time. Chances are, you come in a club and this one chick is occupied with some other customer (happened to me in Bordo's, so I stayed with the second hot which did not have sex on her menue and had a micky mouse voice, I am not sure if she actually hears something). With this ambition and limited time, you may always have to pay more for taxis and other services compared to frequent travelers that know the market and where they would want to go to.
All together, my moscow experience was very well. I would not want to miss it and will go again on other occasion. Nevertheless, since moscow is such a big city I somewhat had expected the clubs (Bordo's, Night Flight) to be much bigger. Sort of size of Help Disco in Rio.
There have been not more than 20 girls and 5-10 men in either of the above mentioned clubs this weekend.
I did some sightseeing at Kreml as well and my impression is that it would be very easy to chat up regular girls there. The selection on the streets is incredible and a lot better then on Mamba.! Perhaps I will try my luck at day time on my next trip as well.

I found that most of this weekend tochkas are hanging at the roads leading north and east out of Moscow. On the roads in front of towns Klin, Sergiev Posad, Pavlovski Posad, Kolomna. This roads have big traffic so most probbly this is the reason. Doubt they are around vokzals and prospekts since this places are already occupied.
They turn into ho's much before they set foot on the train to Moscow and the moment they arrive in Moscow. They set their minds when they are at the end of high school at the age 17-18. Usually girls talk among them selves about some friend, relative or some girl from their apartment building having nice money, clothes, jewelry from this "weekend" job. Usually it's the girl which already have experience in this who brings new ones to Moscow.
The commuter train to Moscow is usually elektricka without compartments, it's platzkartni. Getting laid coming and going can be tricky since along the girls comes some number of off duty cops acting as protection for a fee in the form of money or sex.
In the end we had to pay 1000 rb aswell.
Toto - this is NOT how it works here. You negotiate a fare in advance, and that's the price. Period. If the taxist tries to extract more once you get to your destination, you wad up the money you'd agreed to and throw it in his face, rather than politely handing it to him.

I was traveling from The Crown plaza to Night Flight with two Moscow First Timers in June. It was a Tuesday night at 9:00 PM, it had rained and the traffic was horrible. I was going to offer 300 Rubles just cause I didn't want to screw around. But still it took three gypsy cabs before one would accept the deal.

One of my favorite shows on the Russkii televisor is called такси (taxi). It's a kind of game show that takes place in a taxi. The host of the show is the driver and he picks up fares around Moscow. When he first stops to pick up someone, he has to pretend that he's a real taxi, so he goes through the process of agreeing on a fare. I love listening to how the native Muscovites haggle over 50 rubles, they are the masters of this.
On a clear, bright summer day, a native Muscovite would never pay more than 100 rubles for taxi fare within the Sadovaya. Maybe 200, if travelling all the way from one end to the other. Maximum 300 rubles beyond the Sadovaya.
Pizdyets' negotiating skills are much better than mine, mainly because I'm just too lazy to argue over an extra 100 rubles. So I pay 200/300/400. Unless, of course, it's midnight, in the middle of February and it's -30 and I'm standing in a foot of snow, then I might go to 500.
If you are only in town for a few days, don't speak Russian, have no idea where you are, or where you are going, then you will have to pay a big tourist premium. But paying a Moscow taxi driver 1,000 rubles for a short trip, really is just plain stupidity. All it will do is reinforce the idea in his mind that tourists will pay whatever he asks, and then guys like Pizdyets and myself will have to dis-abuse him of this notion all over again.
If a taxist in Moscow asks you for more than 500 rubles to go anywhere, just walk. Remember, every car in Moscow is a potential taxi and if one doesn't want your fare, it is almost certain that someone else will.

If their address is made public, then they have no control over when customers arrive, and it can be a nightmare for them if too many men show up at the same time.

In Moscow and in Peter, it does not work this way: if you go there and ring the bell, they will not let you in, they want you to call first.
The taxi drivers will make the calls for you and they will be glad to take you there, even up to the apartment door if you ask them.
Most if not all of the taxi drivers do not speak any english. If you speak a little Russian, it is much easier to speak to them than to speak on the phone.
But if you speak no Russian at all, even if you make it to get there, in most of the salons the girls will not speak enough English for you to have a good time (IMHO). You'd better go to the english speaking salons, Charmed or Elite.

There are a ton of tochki on Yaroslavka, but you'll find the same on any major road leading out of Moscow. Also bear in mind that they're constantly on the move, so GPS coordinates won't do you much good. Grab a taxi driver who you think you can trust and just go find them... it's not that difficult.

I have been again to that place.
Guys, please note that they speak some english and they are able to indicate to you the adress and code in english. It is located 200 meters from Hotdog. In the street, no need to go to the garden side, so it is really easy to find.
It's a funny place. As it is cheap, and girls are quite good looking, then, on a thursday night, at midnight, it was really crowded. So only 3 women left, I took a petite brunette with small firm breast and amazing blue eyes. Cost only 2500 RUR.

Following this discussion, I decided to test for the first time Tochkas.
So, I took my car on the way to Yaroslavl (the name of the road is Yaroslavl chaussee).
It was very simple to find the diev and tochkis, and it was a LOT of fun, believe me.
So, It was on a friday night around 1 o clock in the morning. As soon as you quit Moscow (sign on the road saying that you are not in the city anymore), then the game starts. You will see on both parts of the roads tochkas (many cars, many people, lights), but as well girls alone or by 2 waiting on the side of the road. I think that all the game is concentrated on 10 kilometers starting from the exit of Moscow town.
After 10 or 15 kilometers I didn't see anything else.
So, I did one or two passage, just for the fun. Stop first at a woman working alone, looks great from distance but Ugly once you are closed to her. Price was 1500 RUR for full sex and BJ. I left.
then, I went to 1 totchkas, which was by the way the first I spotted coming from Moscow on the right side. It is a place with cafes and restaurant and many cars parked in front lights on.
You just park there and mamasan comes to speak with you (i stayed in the car). She indicated to me the list prices for the full night until morning:

Regards a previous report that there is only one 911 club, please note indeed there is actually two. One is at 18/2 Petrovka, which is a road just heading North from near the Bolshoi Theatre. This is very central Moscow and easily walking distance from Tverskaya or similar.
The other 911 club is in the Korsten Hotel which is just a little distance SW (South West – not what you think) of city central, it is near Leninsky Metro.
911 Korsten is well worth a visit. The Hotel itself is a modern ginormus complex. I always felt safe within that Hotel. Somehow i dropped my wallet as i went through the swing doors and only realised 20 minutes later and was frantically searching my bag when a hotel staff member came and asked me what i was looking for? He took me to a office and i had to describe it and lo and behold they found it and gave it to me. Not a ruble was missing. I personally recommend this Hotel. They were telling me they had been heavily hit by the Casino ban, down a third in guests but they were diversifying.
The 911 club itself within the hotel is good, 3 floors of girls, they don't overly hit on and drinks are ok priced. There is 1 Ukraine brunnette with the most perfect body i have ever experienced. I returned a second night just for her. I don’t know if repeats is a good or bad habit yet. I adored and worshipped her. She can speak very little English, but it was fun translating. An African women will appear and aggressively intervene and demand to translate, I think she charges the girl 2000 rouble for translation.
I said no thank you but she’s aggressive. Then she asks me why I don’t go with her? And I can hear Ali G. saying “is it because I’m black?” and the simple answer is “no”, its because you’ve got all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Its on the 22nd floor and has amazing views. It’s a large Sauna of many saunas and rooms. We played hide and seek for 5 minutes which was quite fun. We had a very good time. I got a tantric massage a while back and I did that with her and it was great to see her responses to that. Hotel Korsten is the second best hotel in the world. Number 1 is Hotel Vladivostok. Couple of thoughts for a better Tochka experience.
No tip for the Mamasan. She is the one calling the cops staked out nearby describing your vehicle as you are leaving so you can bribe the cops to retain the girl that naturally has no papers.
Better to use the tip money for your Taxi driver. Have him take side streets initially and evade the police. It’s all part of the game and cheaper than a bribe.
Start much much earlier in your search.

The nightlife and drinking holes are all within Korsten itself.
It is big blockbuster hotel covered in huge Neon.
The metro runs till 1:30. Metro there. A taxi home at the entrance is
800 -1000 roubles, walk 20 metres and a lada ride will cost 4 to 500 roubles.

I'm usually a proponent of apartment rentals in FSU, but with 911 and working girls on site, this hotel seems damn good !!I've never been to Korston, but I have driven past it a few times. Before you make your reservations you might want to consider a few things;
Korston is a fair ways from the center of the city, in the vicinity of MGU.
It's not easy to get to. There are 2 metro stations nearby, but each is a good 800 to 1,000 meters away from the hotel: a nice walk on a summer's eve perhaps, but not something I would want to attempt at any other time.
It is on one side of a large divided boulevard, extremely dangerous to cross on foot, and can only be approached from one direction by car. Wandering around there in the wee hours of the morning is not a good idea.
As a mongering destination, its not a problem to get there and I'm sure it's worth the trip, but, if you are in Moscow for business and you need to move around the city quickly, it's not the best location. Better take a cheap hotel near Pushinskaya, as Nick did.
Of course, once your workday is done, it does have its benefits. :)

I just use to catch the metro to Vorobiyovy Gory which is on the red line.
Its the first stop beside the river.
The club 911 opens at the unbelievable hour of 3 pm, so i just use to catch the metro at around 8 pm and get of with everyone else who just walk straight on up to the main road. The road is not to bad to cross and your there. Lots of people cross it.
Of course i did this at other times around midnight etc but i seem to safely get away with that kind of stuff. Moscow is safe, safer than St Petersburg anyway. But of course you do need to expect the unexpected if you know what i mean. Wear a black coat with the collar pulled up and everyone thinks your Russian ha!
If your gonna stay in the Hotel the working girls start around 9 pm.
If you meet a girl in 911 they have many rooms there quite nice but if you want to go back to your room remember you should subtract what you would pay for there room, which i'm not to sure what that is may 3000 to 4000 r.
Do the Sauna on the top floor as well. It has massive windows with stunning views. Also check out the top floor restuarant, that has even more stunning views. Its quite a classy place.

As Lukasek pointed out Tochkas can be a great option.
Personally I have never been a fan of the Hot Dog aka Boarhouse. I have had much better experiences with Tochka girls that were gorgeous and fun to spend time with.
Does take some looking.
One last bit of advice: Negotiate clearly with the Mamasan what time the girl will stay until too. This will cut the BS of the fuck and run scam the girls seem to be specializing in. I ask that they stay until 7-8 am. If they are boring or a lousy lay you send them home early.
Sometimes things click and the girl is still with you the next evening.
Great thing about Moscow is you never know but always have plenty of options.

Yep it's the former and better known as National Hotel (one of the few western standard ones even in Soviet era)... for sure with a tip (1000 RUR) the hotel is girl friendly, but if you tke there a pro i think she will ask you 100 USD more ;) still one of the most expencive hotels in Moscow (apart the Ritz).

Odnoklassniki and vkontakte are crawling with hot normal chicks. You can pick any small town and find dozens. For example, on vkontakte Kursk has 36,000 girls with profiles, 3,000 of which are "actively searching" for a guy. You can search by age, too.

Regards mamba Russian women 30 + I took it one step further, I married one. Not from mamba but from another site. Shes a good women with 7 year old son. I just thought why not. Although sometimes when I have the energy and urge to prove (mostly to myself) that that the old soldier's still got some fight left in him I'll venture out to the clubs na rybalku (basically fishing. Apologies for mixed metaphor). In Russia and Ukraine at least (the only EE places where I have experience) I find that the age difference (I'm 50 and change now) doesn't matter nearly as much as in the US or Western Europe. Hi, I just come back from a 4 days business trip in Moscow.
I stayed in Cosmos hotel, after 10 pm in the lobby start some movement of girls and after 11, 30 pm you can count about 15 girls.

Decided to answer my own question and venture forth into the dating. Ru site. Free registration, access to all ads without a fee (if you pay something you can get chat, see videos, put more parameters into search. Like Mamba). I am living in Moscow for more than 2 years now, and I have to say that I more or less agree with the opinions expressed below. This is a caricature, so yes, there are women here different from that, I would even say that most of my friends are married with really different russian women from what is described below...But still, there is something really true in it that every foreigner I think has experienced once...
Appart from that, I would like to mentioned that a new bar called UGLY COYOTTE has opened in Moscow. The opening night was quite good. Waitress are stunning and all girsl are dancing on the bar itself. Quite fun as a pre-party I would say - but don't stay here the while night.

No doubt they are very beautiful but i don't think they could ever come close to been as trustworthy as Asian women IMO.

i visited 'La Mur' a month ago (15/2 Lubyansky Pr), it was downstairs.
On the ground level was a club called Che.
Would this be the same Che your writing about?

Anyway La Mur was OK, lots of different girls and well priced.
Certainly not top end but they were fun. It was more real and friendly than some of those glossy fake clubs.
Interestingly, if you walk out of La Mur, walk 20 metres up the road and turn right onto
Maroseyka Ul there were a few girls following men walking past and offering services.
The men were probably just walking home and took it light heartedly. Then there was some guys in a car who honked and yahooed at this other girl just standing there, who just smiled and waved back. So i guess its safe to assume this was some street action about 9.30 pm. About time Moscow had some of this.
I went onto Bordo afterwards (This was another one of my walkabouts - all these clubs are pretty close to each other - sometimes its quicker to walk - if you know where your going) It has restaurant with club, 2 bars. I saw they had a downstairs area but I didn’t investigate that.
The girls flock as you walk in, a little overwhelming. Saw 2 great girls walk past that I made introductions to, but they had a prior customer at the other bar. Not to much else of interest, I didn’t feel like waiting on the girls I liked, so I split.
I walked onto Oh La La (1 Sretenka) This was a great club when I last visited in 2005. I don’t want to be to harsh, but it has changed a lot. Not as busy as it use to be. I believe 911 Petrovka has taken a lot of there customers. Entry was reasonable and beers well priced.
A variety of girls, one I was interested in, but she and the rest of the girls were obsessed with this group of 4 Russians who were completely pissed and dropping 100 rouble notes all over the place. One of the guys passed out and the other guys poured shots of Vodka on his face, and he’ld wake up and swear, then pass out again.
One of the guys was dancing and throwing large bundles of 100 rouble notes in the air and the girls swept up around him. It was quite a comedy act. Apart from those guys there was only 2 other guys in the club.
I was tipping the girls as well. One time I ran out and had to get change at the bar and this one girl had a tandrum at me. A little pushy. There was an air of desperation of a club in its last throws, facing tough times.
Then I tried to speak to the girl I was interested in but she was now only interested in the guy that passed out, trying to wake him. It was a plain weird night. I made a move to move. As I was leaving the girl now motioned me to stay, but I’ld had enough. As I left the 2 young bouncers starting hassling me for tips. I just walked out and onwards. As I say, there was an air of desperation of a club in its last throws, facing tough times.
Was gonna walk onto Shandra, but decided to call it a night. I wish I went to Shandra first as I never did get there that month. I have fond memories of Shandra when it on that side street off lower Tverskaya. That was a great club. I’ve heard there new premises at north central Moscow are quite good. Has anyone been to the new Shandra?? Do tell. And also a little more about Che??
Might I make a complaint as well. Several times in that month I found myself being the only person in a club i.e. 10 – 15 girls and me, I can’t cope with that, it’s a little overwhelming for me. I mean is that something epresentative of my character? being the only guy in a strip club )) How do you think that feels ? Where the hell were you guys? Get out there now and support your local strip club and the guy in the corner that’s probably me. ))

Unlike all the clubs you mentioned, Che is a 24-hour resto/bar/club. Its main draw is that it's relatively small/compact by Moscow club standards, has good live music most nights until 12:30am or so, offers some of the best Mexican food in town (which sadly isn't saying much at all), has a reasonable crowd even on weeknights, some truly spectacular waitstaff (esp Andrey and Olya!), awesome mojitos which go down like candy, and regularly hosts a number of foreigners and girls who are keen to meet them. Negatives are that you'll feel like "selyodka v banke" (herring in a can) on crowded evenings, that the bartenders will tend to ignore you if you don't have tits (even if they know you), and that you can forget about getting in after 10pm on a weekend unless you're connected or have put down a cash deposit on a table (1500r/person) in advance. In all likelihood, I'll be there tonight. ;)

Given that many of the guys turned away at the door look to be fairly well-to-do expats, I will ask them next time why they DON'T issue club cards. After all, anyone who can afford a $1000 card will be buying plenty of drinks once inside the club. And, they let in plenty of dorks (not including my occasional wingman, PPT) who reserve tables in advance. But on the other hand, it's extremely unusual for so popular a club to maintain a "no cover" policy too, even on Fridays and Saturdays. Whatever their formula, you can't argue that it's ineffective -- even during the crisis, that place is packed most nights of the week.
Still, I'm looking for other options for weeknights (Mon-Wed) where the male:female ratio is at most 1:1, and the girls decent-looking/dressed, and 20-something...

I have been to this club Up-and-Down located the side-street before Prolaterskaya metro on Friday night for the first time. What a shock, even for me living in russia for more than 2 years!!
First getting in, if you are a decent-looking expat shouldn't be an issue.
Then, the quality of the girls inside was just amazing. I couldn't spot any girl less than 7, most of them would be rated 9 or 10.
Ratio was 1 woman for 3 guys, but there are only babies of 18 years old or ugly over-fatted guys (but rich, no need to say). It means that you an have a real chance in the game.
I think that some of the girls are working, but couldn't check this.
We were 5 of us, and 2 had the chance to go back home with a very good looking diev, so I consider this ratio as quite successful.
The club it self is big and nice, and I would say rather empty - I guess it won't last a lot when you see the feminine crowd in it.
We will defenitly return, it might turn to be our basement to start to night.
Apart from that, the other club really amazing nowadays in Moscow is Krisha, on the river bank. Don't go there before 3.00 it's an after party club so it becomes nice around 5.00. The only issue is that you must be an oligarch with 3 top models to get in. But it worth to try as we usually get in half of the time, which is really not bad. There is a kind of expat exception to get in. A card club exists but I couldn't get it yet.

Someone else had recently put me onto this club as well, but I guess I'm just too lazy to venture outside of the Garden Ring very often. And when I do, I expect it to be simply awesome (like Slava was back in the day).
On your recommendation, I went to Coyote Ugly recently with a huge crew of guys. BTW, the address is not dom 6, but dom 8/3, on Kuznetsky Most between Petrovka (Most) and Bol. Dmitrovka (Ketama). Cover is quite digestable at 300r, and indeed the place was packed with decent-looking studentki (and some I suspect a bit younger). A few girls were simply stunning, but regrettably all of them were with male escorts. :(
The bar is an American-based franchise, and therefore I shouldn't have been surprised when the first voice heard over the PA system was that of a New-York-accented girl who could have worked as an MC at Cheetahs or Spearmint Rhino. "Jasmine to stage 2... Jasmine - stage 2. But gentlemen, first put your hands together for Lacey!" But I digress...
It's a two-and-a-half floor deal. In the basement, there are toilets and a drinking/chill-out bar with kalyan (hookah). On the "second floor" in the back is a cloakroom and a gift shop featuring Coyote Ugly branded merchandise (shot glasses, mugs, knick-knacks). The street-level floor is by far the biggest, and allows one to see all of the action from pretty much any vantage point. The L-shaped bar, spanning two full sides of the room, is twice the depth of a regular bartop, which allows bartenders and mostly regular girls to dance on top of it while still allowing regular business (ie taking orders, serving drinks, collecting money and retrieving empties) to get accomplished. For those of you acquainted with Moscow, you'll know that scantily-clad (even topless) regular girls dancing on bartops is nothing unique. What made this place special was the quantity of girls on the bar at any time. At one point, I counted two dozen!
Another feature of the bar is body shots administered on the bartop by two buxom bartenders who - let's just say - know how to work their bodies. So, points allocated for style and atmosphere. And though it's unusual for a new club, they definitely have their shit together in terms of bar operations. Unlike most clubs in Moscow, they have an adequate number of barstaff and they continually push the drinks (unlike many bars here where you have 3 guys idly chatting amongst themselves and it's far easier to get the attention of the hottie standing next to you than theirs). I suspect that the American girl (who told us that that was her last night in Moscow before returning to the US), was sent out by headquarters to show them how service *should* be done. Big points allocated for service.
As for drinks, they have most things - several beers on tap, wine, cocktails, lots of various types of booze. Everything, it seems, except my drink - mojito. :( Oh well, I was relegated to drinking Paulaner on tap (and not a bad deal either at 220r for half liter) - could be a lot worse. One minus, though not at all unique by Moscow standards, is that they only take cash. Being located a stone's throw from Red Square, there are a multitude of ATMs in the area, but just be prepared.
Music was extremely loud 80s-oriented classic rock/pop. I was particularly amused at watching the bartenders dancing (again on the bartop) to "Devil Went Down to Georgia" in front of a flummoxed Russian crowd who I suspect were hearing the song for the first time and wouldn't be able to distinguish Charlie Daniels from Billy Gibbons (on second thought, maybe I wouldn't be able to do that myself). Later in the night, they introduced songs more accessible to the young crowd, ranging from Soviet retro classic such as Летящей Походкой (With a Flying Gait) to the latest Russian rap/popsa.
As with most bars/clubs, the crowd fluctuated throughout the night, but there were always plenty of available girls with whom to chat and/or dance and/or collect digits. Most were in the 6-8 range, some with beautiful faces, some with beautiful bodies, but few possessing both. I did spot a couple girls (one with a simply incredible body) who my friends agreed were most likely working, but they were in the very very small minority.
My only mistake that night was that I wore a sport-coat. Not only was I a bit over-dressed for the venue (I would have fit in better down the street at Most), but it was insanely hot - in the 30-range. Next time, I'm going in a T-shirt! But with all the advantages of this place, and the convenient location, there will definitely be a next time!

So, for the umpteenth time, there are 2 hooker bars in Moscow: NightFlight and HotDog (formerly Doug & Marty's Boar House, formerly Chesterfields). NightFlight is high-end, HotDog is mid/low-end, and both suck. But they're the only games in town. There are literally dozens of reviews on each in this forum. Pros can also be found in mid/high-end clubs, but you'll have to approach the girls yourself.

I've been to Terminal C, neighbor to the ass-tastic Terminal 1, and it's quite new and nice. I would assume that Terminal D would be in a similar style to that, and the new Express Rail Station.
I just received a notification email from Aeroflot with a schedule of them moving flights to this new terminal, so I think it really is going to happen - and soon.

There are many practical reasons: a) no fees paid to credit card companies b) no credit card disputes resulting in losses c) they can report whatever they want to tax authorities d) potential as a money laundering operation. Usually d) is the prevailing reason in this city.

Typically no one will bother you in an apartment, you can come and go as you please. Security is mainly in the hotels.

Prosal also during my 2 months in Russia with obviously business visa, never had problem to be registered by the owner of the apt with or without small fee.
Again then I left Russia, I was not registered for all my 60 days, but something as 40 days, so they could argue where I was during the 20 days, more or less, when I was no registered at all, but no one problem and the policeman checked and opened almost all pages of my passport, maybe curious to see all the countrie I went.
I guess it is enough to be registered only the first day and then....when you remember LOL or something like that, cause I do not think I was "lucky" to have no problem, I think now they care much less than for example during my first time in 2004 when every policeman on the street seem to be looking for some "mistakes" in my visa.

In Russia now, the registration process is very simple, you can register with a form at the Post Office. The catch is, you must have an "official" address in Moscow (or wherever you are staying). If you are staying in hotel, then you have an "official" address. But I have always stayed in apartments in Russia, with both tourist and business visas, and never had a problem to register.
To tell you the truth, most of the people who visit Russia never register. Particularly if they are coming from FSU and will only be in Moscow for a short stay (< week).

I went onto Bordo afterwards (This was another one of my walkabouts. All these clubs are pretty close to each other. Sometimes its quicker to walk. Even if you have what's a "open" one year visa it might be difficult to register to OVIR if you go thre like the old rules. Now all it's done via computer systems by agencies. Some years ago it happened that I was in a hotel who was unable to register my visa. So I had to ask help to a Company office.
If you are in an apartment this depends on your Landlord or on the agency (they should help and there should be no problem with the procedure, quite quick). It's very various. One of the reasons I prefer hotels in Russia, specially with the new rules where you have to be registered within 24 hours (it might be a nightmare if police stops you or when you leave the country, Once I had a 1500 RUB fine for late registration at SVO, but it was a lot of time ago). Most of the hotels will do it for free and on spot for the guests via the informatic system of OVIR, very simple takes just a minute or even less while they are making the magnetic key of the room and all the paperwork.
Safe and Simple. In Russia (like everywhere) it's easier to follow the rules.

The Russian fleet (not Aeroflot only) will grow to be the 6th in the world before Sochi 2014.
Most of the west european or former east european companies fly now to DME (Domodedovo) like OS, LH, SK, also United from/to USA is flying there... lets' say Star Alliance, others, and most of the national (non Aeroflot) airlines. Aeroflot and some Skyteam (AZ, AF, etc) are flying to SVO 1 for national 2 for international, but they are building SVO 3. Thre is no fast connection system between the airports (these are not terminals! the terminals are with the letter system inside the SVO 2 for ex. right or left when you get inside the departure lounge).
The only real problem in using one or the other is simply if you are staying in Moscow or travelling elswhere. You should try to arrive in the airport where you have the connection. Getting by car (or BUS) from SVO to DME or viceversa might be a nightmare on ground of traffic.
Despite you are checked to final destination (and your luggage too) if yoy fly Aeroflot you should allow three hours for a transfer inside SVO (national/international or viceversa) This on ground the passport control is done in SVO 2.
Safest way of transfert between SVO and DME is a stopover in Moscow! Or using the train and the metro ;).

This is due not only to the crap facilities but to the attitudes of the cretons (no offense to people from the island of Crete) who work there. The customer experience at DME is radically DIFFERENT from SVO2 that it makes one wonder if it is the culture of the place that makes it different or if it is the brand spanking new surroundings that have changed the attitudes of the folks working at DME. Cripes, even Vnukovo has better service than SVO2.

If you look at the day timetable http://svo.aero/en/timetable/today/ you will understand that very few planes departs there mostly national... I think we need to wait a bit of time ;) before getting a decent airport there.
By the way I failr prefer the SVO location for traffic (but you need a car transport!), but DME is better and you can get the train, but I still prefer the car.

Living here in Russia since 2 years, I can say that getting no russian at all will be an issue for you.
Sometimes, the girls from the saloon, as soon as they understand thatyour are a foreigner, will find a girl with a broken english, but it won't be enough in most of the cases.
the other options you get are the folllowing:
- Night flight or Hot dog (prices from 10K to 15k)
- Taking a taxi to go to Totchkas (same prices, but issue with policemen is still possible)
- use rusdosug and call women with an english text in their ads (1 or 2 over 10 will really speak english)
- find a free newspaper called "moscow times" which is 100% in english, and find out the ads. Just call and service on phone will be 100% in english. That's the luck of the draw as you will not see the girl before she knock at your door, but I did twice at the beginning of my russian experience and was always very happy. They usually sends to you 2 girls so you can choose. All in all, my favorite options if you don"t speak russian. And you can still say no thanks if goblins just show out

You might want to try Aurora 911. It's centrally located, so it's easy to find. Lots of beautiful babes, most of whom are available for whatever you might have in mind. In addition to the private dances, there is also sex-on-premises in the private apartments, and the stage show ain't bad either.
It's pretty much idiot-proof. Just make sure you bring LOTS of money: you won't find any bargains in Moscow unless you speak the lingo.

From the limited research I have done on this site (I need to do more research), its seems like the safest bet for someone like me is to check out one of the Salons, particularly Fantasy or Charmel. I don't mind spending a little more money in order to have a more safe experience.
The Big Three (as I call Fantasys, Charmel and Elit TV) are extremely safe and discreet, but you'll have a rough time if you don't speak any Russian and don't have a wingman who can help you through it.
I'd recommend hitting NF and HD, on the off-chance you hit it off with one of the girls there. I never pay more than 8K at HD for all night, standard sex. NF will likely be in the 12-15 range. If nothing floats your boat, hit the streets (and the tochkas). Chance that they speak English will be very low, but it's the best avenue for low-mileage pussy.
And if you have any game at all, are under 55 and reasonably good-looking and/or stylish, then try some of the expat-friendly clubs. After a year of financial crisis, the local girls are more eager than ever to meet foreigners -- back to 2002 days IMHO. Last time I was in a club, I waited and let the girls approach me.

I just saw that the club I referred to in the below posting, is not 'Che' but was 'Chi', Oops! wrong vowel. 'Chi' is a Chinese restuarant Bar at
15/2 Lubyansky and there is 'La Mur' downstairs which is a very priced and friendly strip club. This is just a couple of blocks away from 'Che' which is 10/2 Nikolskaya ul.

Sounds like good advice from the Moscow Rezidents. The only thing I would add is that you can always call ISG's own favorite Management Consultant Victoria2005 (www.sweet-dreams.ru) Several of us on this forum have called the number on the site and received excellent home delivery service at competitive prices. This is a excellent option for early in your visit if you are feeling hesitant about venturing out on your own. The dispatcher (Anastasia) speaks quite reasonable English so the communication will not be a problem. She will even respond to your emails. Just follow her goofy instructions (and they do seem a bit goofy) and she will fix you up with company for the evening at your hotel or apartment. No guarantees, but if you are not completely satisfied, I will be be QUITE surprised.

From what I've read the original plan was to refurbish the Duck in a major way, which would take several months.
It seems it's still not open but they have a new website, which seems to confirm the above - no point in having a new site if you are closing. The schedule on http://www.hungryduck.net/?ldi=allafisha seems to suggest that parties will start again on the 26th. That would make a lot of sense - the New Year zapoi is coming up.
The plan is apparently to open Wed-Sun and on holidays. Whilst I have missed the true glory days of the Duck, I still have fond memories of the first time a non-pro gave me a blowjob in a club.

I doubt this is going to happen, as I walked by there in the past month and it is now a Kruzhka (a chain of cheap Russian restaurants). The interior is basically the same (I poked my head in), but it's no longer even called the Hungry Duck.
That's a pity ... I guess 1999 will never happen again!
www.hungryduck.net has more details now: the successor to the Duck, on Lesnaya 30, will be called Jackal's Night Club. There has been some delay in opening it because of Health & Safety issues (most likely government pressure following the Perm disaster).

Can't recall being there with you, Doc. Though I do remember an incident about a year ago, when our very own Jake called and woke me at 2am to tell me that it was 'pussy galore' at RM and that I needed to join him - drinks on him. I arrived around 2:30am to find Jake three (maybe four) sheets to the wind and a room full of ugly (though admittedly desperate and clearly ready-to-fuck) chicks. Being a man of high standards (unfortunately sometimes), no amount of alcohol ingestion could compensate for that level of foulness.
That said, I do like the bartenders and the Long Islands there. And the food ain't half bad either. Given its proximity to my pad (within stumbling distance of home), I'd be grateful if they were attracting better/younger talent these days.
Thanks to this forum I am staying at the Korsten Hotel. Got a great rate of $130 a night including taxes (rack rate is $180 plus) and man this place seems cool so far.
Free breakfast buffet was excellent. And with 6 or 7 restaurants on premises this should keep me busy.
