I came accross the SS by accident the other day, I went in and they didn't charge me to go in the lower bar. It seemed as though they were going to charge some of the Middle Eastern guys, or maybe they were headed upstairs. I think the drink price was pretty low compared to the other places I have been. I wanted to check upstairs and the guy made me pay 3BD to go upstairs, but it included 1 drink. They were very picky about what the drink was though. I think you can only get a bottled beer.
Upstairs looked like a waste of time, not much going on up there.

I went to a few places last night with some friends and decided to show them Sea Shells, it was about 2AM. I went there twice in the last couple weeks and didn't pay any entrance. One of the nights was a Thursday, which is usually the day some bars charge an entrance fee. I think maybe they might charge Middle Eastern men.
I agree that it is almost impossible to find a place to sit, and the music is pretty loud, and the band really isn't that good. There are plenty of ladies however.

I also notice there are 2 phoenicias listed on hotel booking websites and the prices they quote (lowest i've seen is £72 for towers and £59 for the other one), are these prices the same as what people pay without pre-booking?

If you are just coming to Bahrain for a mongering holiday, I would advise you look elsewhere. F'rinstance like Thailand :) If you are here on business and happen to have spare time, then that's different.
The Delmon Hotel is still worth looking at. The rooms were refurbished and are ok (a friend stayed there recently . . . again) and Diggers is in the same building. Latest info is that it is still filled with totty of the asian persuasion. If you are looking for CIS, personally, I'd look in Dubai. Better selection.
No one seems to have a good handle on Arab girls yet. Not of the P4P variety. Some Moroccans said to inhabit one of the hotels off Exhibition road, begins with a 'Y' though the name escapes me at the moment. No personal confirmation. Other venues include the Metropolitan Hotel which has the F1 club which is close to Phoenicia, or Al Bustan which houses Queens and JJ's and BJ's.
As you mention, girls change venues and leave. Turnover can affect who is where, when. I guess you've got to go and look see for yourself. Please remember to post any experiences for the benefit of others, good and/or bad. It's always good to know where to avoid as well as where to go.

Best place for CIS/Arab girls is Phoenecia hotel...HOTEL, not the Tower. On weekends(Saudi weekend that is), expect to pay 50BD for a room and maybe around 35 on a weekday. ST costs 50BD. Avoid the Moroccon's though, just my advice.

I'm not close to that age yet, but I have pretty big man boobs.
I started lifting weights since I was a teen, and since have been exercising and not exercising for almost a couple decades now. Now I have been regularly weight lifitng for quite a few months now and I can bench press just as much or more than I have ever been able to, the problem is I'm also a little over weight, so big pectoral muscles along with fat makes my man boobs pretty big.

J, I think you should spend less time in Bahrain. Depends what kind of action your looking for. CIS kinda pretty much dried up in the years. If your in to PRC, Thais then this is the place to be but it pretty much limited. I visited Manama last March you can see my report. To me its different now from Qatar or UAE. Its still a party town but UAE is still the best in my opinion.

Yes, Dubai has a lot more options than Bahrain.

Beach Plaza is basically the same as FP, sometimes you'll even see girls from FP there heh. Rooms are nicer than FP, but not as many girls and everytime I go I get into a fight with the front desk because they're idiots.
Al-Bustan is basically all Thai judging from what I've seen at Queens Pub and Rock N' Z below it. Been to Rock and Z quite a few times since the bands quite good and it's open after 2am, lots of pretty girls around but you should probably get there early.
CIS are way too limited. I'm not sure if the visa on arrival system is up and running for Russia yet, but it seems your best options are still the same as always; pheonicia, fp, etc.
In Bahrain I just recommend befriending a Thai/PRC girl (s) at F1 or where ever, get some phone #'s, and never deal with hotels again: P Unfortunately that's not an option for CIS/Syrians/Moroccans. Ethiopian chicks are available but not immediately to be swallowed, at Al-Afrah hotel and Lavendum. But one has to be very careful with the Ethiopians. Arab chicks can be found in International and Phonecia. Local beauties are in Samirames Hotel coffee shop at around 11 o'clock for 60 BD ST. Both Ragent and Omer Khayyam are also packed with the Chinese and some Thai.
But the most important piece of news is that since the king’s visit to Russia last month, there is a possibility that they will allow the Russians including of course, Uzbeks, Tajiks. Etc. To enter the kingdom. Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed.

I would add two more hotels:
Imperial suites - really heavenly with great gils but even higher prices. mostly the girls are morrocan but i beleive there is one cis available now
Mirador hotel - very nice and clean room the best 3 or 4 star room. it used to have a bunch of cis but i'm not aware of the current status (cis in imperial used to work in the miradore the last 2 months.

Sorry folks for not completing my FR for my efforts on mongering due to some other immediate tasks which are now resloved. So I can now concentrate of core of life enjoyment I. E mongering.

well, raj funloving's report is what they call it in psychology a reflection of unfulfilled desires. but thanks to him for his efforts. from my perspective, i can say that the best place for westerners (of course americans too) is ramee, seashells and al bustan. the locals cannot afford paying bd 100 for a chinese chick who is not worth 10 bd. but the americans can. the money that they get from fighting in iraq is spent on the chinese. if you are not western, then i would recommend tylos. this is a good place to find beautiful and young chinese for only 10 bd st 25/30bd lt. if you are asian and you want a taste of asian entertainment, i suggest bahrain plaza, dhaka bar or russian bar (attached to bristol hotel). ethiopian chicks are available but not immediately to be swallowed, at al-afrah hotel and lavendum. but one has to be very careful with the ethiopians. arab chicks can be found in international and phonecia. local beauties are in samirames hotel coffee shop at around 11 o'clock for 60 bd st. both ragent and omer khayyam are also packed with the chinese and some thai.
but the most important piece of news is that since the king’s visit to russia last month, there is a possibility that they will allow the russians including of course, uzbeks, tajiks. etc. to enter the kingdom. let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed.

according to http://www.evisa.gov.bh russians and chinese can come here with visa on arrival. i checked a few weeks ago and it said russians and chinese were welcome. from talking to a few momasans and overstaying thai ladies, they tell me they stay 2 weeks, then extend 2 weeks for 5 bd, but they usually pay someone 10bd to do the 2 week extension for them, then they will pay a 40bd fine or pay someone a head of time, 40bd for every month they overstay. and overstaying more than 6 months is a big no-no.
one thai lady i know well said she doesn't want any trouble, so she just stays here 7-8 weeks and pays a 40bd fine, then does her visa run.
most ladies do a visa run to sri lanka, and some go to oman. but today i called this lady and she said she heard thais can't go to oman anymore for some trouble they made there.

the bar is diggers and they have a semi reasonable band that plays rock music as opposed to the usual goat-humping crap that everywhere else plays (except rock-n-zs). lots of chinese, some reasonable, some very dooable, some dogs. the prices seem a little high though.
there's also a few gems in the aradous hotel in the souk. cheap and cheerful bonk for bd20 to the girl and bd10 for the hotel. you have to look carefully though the thai elephants are also represented. bahrain plaza (just down the road from vendome) used to have a few interesting girls. last time i looked it was under redecoration or closed down. when did it reopen for business?
earlier this year i believe that the omar kayyam was busted by le. hadn't heard that it had reopened for business. is it still a viable proposition? i think it got raided just before ramadan. had a very tasty prc there one time.
always on the lookout for reasonable totty. i don't like paying over the top for average goods. shame that lensman closed down. i presume that it never reopened.

Hey Sami29 - Could you possibly give a little more info on the Ethiopians you mentioned at Al Afrah and Lavendum (er, and tell me where these hotels are?!) I'm a big fan of the Ethiopian look - for instance go into the coffee shop of the newly-opened Bahrain Plaza, as I did last week, and you'll see some stunning Beyonce-esque beauties. But, as I've posted about previously, they're very complicated....they'll milk you, but only for cash! I did eventually get it on with one lovely lady, but only after buying her friends' grossly overpriced drinks, driving them all home, buying her weekly shopping, etc, which cost more and was more hassle than a simple P4P. And it wasn't just a one-time sweetener: she expected me to do it for her every time I took her home! I take it this is what you mean by the "need to be very careful".
What about girls in Al Afrah and Lavendum who are "not easily swallowed"? Can you elaborate? I mean, are they just like the coffee shop girls in Bahrain Plaza, Bristol, etc, or are they genuine P4P? What's the M.O. here? I'd really love to find a place where one can access these African lovelies on a reliable and straightforward basis, without all the bs, because god daayyym they fine!

They offer a breakfast buffet but it was pretty lame.
The club, IMHO, sucks. Last time I was there, just before Ramadan, they had some African lady dj. Place was packed, alot of africans and people seemed familiar with the music. But I wasn't and I left after about trying to tolerate 20 minutes of that "music". Unfortunately, they were charging admission and it's very hard to get a feel for what's inside until you fight the link to get inside.
When I went previously, there was a good mix of non-asian ladies, some really good looking. I was tired and not really into trying to get some action so can't tell you more.
I keep hearing problems with the US Navy banning people from going to Rock Bottom, so I suspect more will drift over there to the Best Western.

The only time I had any success with an African was through the Wrangler Bar at the Best Western in Juffair. The place was full of Americans and a number of African women. Most were average but a couple stood out from the crowd. I managed to get the number of one of them and arranged to meet at her place round the corner from the Bristol Hotel.
After driving round for ages trying to find a parking space I eventually managed to get to her flat which she shared with about four other girls. Disappeared into the bedroom for an average round of sex. Nothing special for which she charged BD40. My fault, I should have negotiated in advance. Still, we live and learn. I felt a little ripped off, but by that time it was too late. It was a shame cause if she had charged less, she would have definitely got more business from me.
It seems that many of the African girls in the Bahrain Plaza and other bars only get tips, not any salary from the venue. Their job is to get the customers in and to get them to spend money. Personally, I think this is akin to slavery. The venue should pay them to be there. This may be a reason that they try to squeeze as much out of each customer as possible without giving anything in return. I agree that there are some stunners amongst them though.
Bionicman, the Best Western in Juffair has the Wrangler bar which can have a number of WGs, and a lot of US military personnel, there is also the newly opened Champs on the first floor. It's run by the same people who used to run the Warbler before the Warbler was taken over by the Ramee group (F1 & Rock Bottom). The Warbler used to have a small number of WGs, mainly PRC. Not sure what the score is with the new bar though. I'll have to take a look this weekend.

Blacks in those areas do not seem the best choice in terms of attitude, but maybe one gets lucky. Have a friend who finds good ethiopians and he is a well trained monger!:)

I've been to the Wranglers club at the Best Western a few times.
I was never really that impressed. I seen some women there before, but if they were working it wasn't very obvious and sometimes I didn't see any women there. There is a decent crowd ( mostly Navy) in there on Thursday and Friday night. On Thursday night they will ask for 11BD cover charge and it is all you can drink. I think it's 8PM until midnight. You can tell them you just want to have one drink and they will hesistantly let you in for 3 BD.

The last few times I went to the Warbler it had about 90% Filipino customers and no working girls. I imagine if you work it right you could get a Filipina girlfriend from there. Enigma is also a popluar place for the Filipino crowd to go to.
Right now the Navy can go to Rock Bottom's, but the Thai women there tend to me a little older and not so great looking. I went there once and seen a really hot looking Ethiopian girl there at a pool table, but I don't know what she was up to. I also went there once and seen three girls that looked like they were from Singapore something. I sat at there table but didn't talk much.
Their English was really good and they looked like the were Chinese, also they were dressed rather well. I couldn't figure them out.

So, the club would let me and my girl in, but poor momasan couldn't go in Rock Bottom's or Cosmo's. Momasan said the manager of Cosmo's won't let her in anymore because they argued about.... the manager wanted the momasan to keep buying her all you can eat buffet tickets or something.
Also I was told the Champs club in the Best Western will let the Navy in, only if they were E7 and above.
... and she asked us to go to Rock Bottom's with her, so we did. They just posted some sign saying couples only. i had a look round on friday night. observations:
the bahrain plaza is back open. the bar at the back had a number of africans. a few were half decent, the rest were 'large'. these all looked like they were the type that weren't paid and were working for tips. didn't look wg. four thais walked in. one was do-able, the two others were large, one just fugly. they were joined by a fifth, reasonable. i would think that they were on the game, but didn't stop to find out. the barmaid looked good. short, slim frame, big tits, but seemed to have an attitude. not what you want from an african. not very friendly looking.
ok corral is back open and has girls. found one with lovely big, natural tits. took her upstairs for a quickie. reasonably satisfying, brought a smile to my face. may even go back. . . not too many girls, or they are keeping a low key. could be very hit and miss. i think i was lucky.
wrangler in juffair was full. mainly navy and what seemed to be a large number of bahrain school students. they looked ****. the place does seem to have a rep for such. a few interesting africans. got the number of one (ethiopian) who i will pursue and will report back. very, very smoky in there though. had one drink then left. my clothes stank.

since i had to drive past it, i ventured into seashell. upstairs in the disco they've rearranged the furniture and relocated the bar. it's now on the left hand side at the back by the door. this gives more room at the sides. a number of prc and thai girls. didn't bother with the prices, just had a look see. nothing really caught my eye. there were a few good lookers. ymmv.
at that point i called it a day and went home with a smile on my face.
as reported earlier, diggers on the other side of town is busy. tcs is very quiet. the prices quoted in diggers were bd80, bd60 like that. i think it's on the high side. i'm certain that the prices drop if you have the time and inclination to haggle, i just wasn't interested at those rates and not in the position to take them home. since i don't live in manama, this can be a problem for an overnighter, so i guess i'll just stick to st.
bahrain is still functioning and can still work for mongers. you just gotta look around for it.

IMHO both the places are good for mongering but caters some what different interest. If you are into Morraccan chicks + CIS hotties Phoenicia Hotel is a place. Again rooms are better than FP for sure.
FP is place where there CIS hotties + PRC jewels + 1 or 2 morroccan girl+some thai babes etc.
FP is place for short mongering like 1 or 2 hour. Of course mongerers do stay at FP whole night; Having said that choice is yours. At FP rooms are basic and not a great bathroom but from mongerers' point of view, IMHO you get some good jewels like PRC Eliinda & CIS Christina who can allow you fullfil your wishes like BBBJ & CIM. They may be into back side but since I m not into it I never bothered to check that up with them. Again cost of mongering is low both room rent and girls' charges. A PRC girl for ST charges BD15 & BD30/- for an hour. (Negotiable). CIS girls' rates are quite okay. I. E BD20/- for ST & BD40/- for an hour.
Rooms at Phoenicia hotel are better but they are costlier than FP. Phoenicia charges BD35 to BD40/- for normal standard room on weekdays compared to BD20 to BD25/-by FP.
Recently due to price increase CIS girls have become very costly. They charge BD50/- for ST & BD100/- per hour. Frankly I do not know what a morraccan charge for fuck service since I m not into it.
So decision is yours. If your on business visit with whole day at office and stay at night than cost wise FP is value for money for core mongering. Catch at FP is rooms are not very great and you might have knock knock at your room. Again this depends upon you how you take it.

It's been a while since I posted. Have just simply been to busy to monger.
However took some time off work and drove ten hours to get to the land of booze and p*y. Bahrain!
Checked into the Phonecia (my favored place as I don't even have to leave room anything at all).
After checking in was informed that the "Russian Ladies" not allowed to work for two days for Muharram (I honestly didn't know that they were shiates). That rocked my world. When asked to clarify war told the Morrocan Ladies were available.
OK so not exactly the situation I had wanted but will make do.
Get to the room and get the room numbers from the bell boy.
Start making calls NO ONE answers (Ok so its early yet 11:00 AM) get drunk and take a nap. Wake up and start calling again. Got to find out that no "Ladu" allowed to work for two days.
That blows my trip. Now I'm a fricking newbe (when it comes to Bahrain) is this the same all over bahrain or only in Phonicia.

For FP, search for Family Plaza. It's close to the Baisan hotel, around the corner from the petrol station and the pharmacy off Exhibition road.
GR, for OK Corral, read the Omar Kayyam Hotel, close to the start of Exhibition road, not too far from the Guest Palace. You'll need transport to get there, it's off the left hand side of the road if you're going from the Old Palace Road to the Corniche towards the traffic lights by the Semiramis.

I will have like 10hrs before I catch my flight back to Dubai. SO FP it is for me.
I still remember the first time I had a morrocan in DBX. They are hot as hell. But the wroste attitude. But still they charge like 2000AED in DBX. 100BD is still cheap I guess.

Made a quick trip to Bahrain this Sunday and decided to give another shot at finding a room in FP. Got there at like 3pm and the guy at the reception said a single room was available. He quoted 25BD as the price. I told him that it's a weekday and that I know for a fact that the price during the week was 20BD but he wouldn't budge. I was pissed off and wanted to tell him to go fuck himself, but the curiosity of not having tried FP before made me take the room.
The whole place is pretty close to a dump, rooms are just okay at best, bathroom shitty, toilet seat missing, even the bedsheets and pillow covers didn't look clean. Definitely not the place to spend overnight but a place for a quick screw.
If you leave the door unlocked, the girls will come to your room themselves. Got the numbers of the girls from the bellboy after tipping him 1BD. I was anxious to see Christina after all the reports about her and the pic that was posted too..I thought she looked hot in it. In came Christina and in real life I didn't like her much at all. Face was ok at best and body was average too. Told her I'd call her back. Among the girls to come in were Julia(too skinny for my taste), this Syrian named Sara, all the PRC girls, some Thai's and this Indonesian girl with a nice body and rack.

I didn't think Diggers had a decent band.
If you want a decent place that has "A" band and ladies you should check out F1. The place is packed, and the music is of the dance club kind. All Thai women as far as I know. If you go on Sunday, you might be the only one in the club. I went there on a Sunday once and there were only a couple people there.
Some other places with a band and ladies are.... Rock Bottoms, the club at the Palace Hotel, I think it's called Evinity Club now (has a Thai lady Singer) and Sea Shell Hotel... Also Rockin's Z which is in the same hotel as JJ's. I don't think JJ's lets single working ladies in though. But the hotel area in general has plenty of Thai women around.

Rock bottom - plenty of Thais on offer
F1 - mainly PRC now, fair numberof Thais
JJ's - mainly Thai
TC's - PRC and Thai (think the Diggers band has transferred here recently)
The new Envy club at the Palace was easily the best for band and plenty of Thai women until the new management buggered it all up by replacing the Thai band (best in Bahrain at the time) and replaced it with a woeful Filipino band. They tried to hold the Thai girls by lip synching to Thai songs, and failed. Watch for that Thai band to turn up somewhere else in Bahrain and that is where you will find the Thai girls after midnight most nights.
New venues at one of the Ramee's advertising a Canadian Band has a no BYO policy and turns you away at the door if you come with a thai woman. As a result it is virtually empty. Serves them right. I didn't think Diggers had a decent band.
If you want a decent place that has "A" band and ladies you should check out F1. The place is packed, and the music is of the dance club kind. All Thai women as far as I know. If you go on Sunday, you might be the only one in the club. I went there on a Sunday once and there were only a couple people there.
Some other places with a band and ladies are.... Rock Bottoms, the club at the Palace Hotel, I think it's called Evinity Club now (has a Thai lady Singer) and Sea Shell Hotel... Also Rockin's Z which is in the same hotel as JJ's. I don't think JJ's lets single working ladies in though. But the hotel area in general has plenty of Thai women around.

I've been to F1 a few times and never remembered the name of the hotel.
I looked it up to be sure. It's in the Metropolitan Hotel, which is one street of oof Exhibition Road. There are many bars and clubs in this area, if you have a choice, this area is better to stay in for action than the Seef area. A taxi ride from Diggers to F1, or also called Club 1, is probably less than 2 kilometers.
Rock Bottoms is in the Ramee International Hotel in Juffair. The Ramee would be about 4 or 5 kilometers from F1. The Ramee also has a nice place to play pool and mingle with many Thai women, the place is called Cosmos. I don't see many women of my liking in Rock Bottoms, but there are plenty of good looking women in Cosmos. F1 has some decent looking women too.
Am visiting next week and need some advice please.

Almost all of those ladies are from Thailand, please don't try to say they are the same. F1, will have very few Chinese ladies in there. Last week an old Chinese lady in F1 asked me many times if I wanted a massage. That reminded me of the days I lived in Japan.

Hmmm.. just tried it... that page is blocked as well.
If people download the Hotspot shield from places like the Brothersoft webpage or other software pages it will work, but sometimes it gets annoying when it has a full page advertisement. I have found some ways to work around that though.
I also tried something called TOR, and it works too.
Some others I've had success with are Ultrasurf and GPass.
Ultrasurf is finicky and depending on the servers they go thru may block sex related sites. But when working is fast.
Gpass is good but not consistent, sometimes slow, sometimes fast. You need to start your browser from the application box within Gpass, other wise wont work.
Hotspot shield messed up my system with their latest update. It installed a new driver, hssdrv.sys, which crashes and causes blue screens in Vista. But so far works OK in XP.
Most others are too slow for me (incl TOR), so I dont bother with.

Just managed to get back online after this stupid banning of websites. Googled The Onion Router (TOR) and found Portable TOR which fits onto a USB flash drive. This seems to work, and is portable so you can use any computer anywhere. Good to be back.

Such as, shutting down all discos in hotels less than 4 star, no booze etc. Those antics didn't work as they didn't fare well with the target audience "friendly neighbours". Was in bahrain for 1 day that too on a Thursday, reached wed late night and checked in this hotel which I had booked through agent. Good hotel for bed and breakfast. Rooms are every nice.
Walked at 11 pm to see whther I can find any names mentioned in the forum. Saw f1, saw phoenicia, I found it out very easily. Was tempted to see what was inside. So went inside and up to the 1st floor. Asked for rent. Said 40 bd. Asked for card and left. Then came bak and asked beach taj plaza, 1 and 2. Finally got beach plaza for 20 bd,
Lot of thais and phil only. Was thre one thai name lulu. Works hard and good GFE, 25 bd for LT. She had good figure, 7/10. Sheraton is a tricky one when it comes to allowing "companions". At times they can turn the blind eye so long as your mate is properly dressed but they may resort to profiling on other occasions. As you enter the hotel try walking down to the shops / business center level and then taking the elevators to your floor. Good Luck.

FP on many occasions can be difficult to get room at. Rooms become available every day during the checkout time but given the prospect boarders, they go fast. One trick I have tried myself, is slipping a bill to the desk clerk (depends how "interested" (read desperate) are you to get in), a night before and a room will certainly be available for you the next day.
FP is basically a short time place, so there will be many customers leaving every so often. What I usually do if no rooms is I check back in an hour. If no luck, I try again in another hour, and so on until I eventually get one. It may require 4 or 5 visits in as many hours, but I usually get one this way.
Would any one of you guys in Bahrain check out Mishal Hotel and possibly compare to Phoenicia. I believe it also has a good selection of Arab ladies: Moroccan, Lebanese, etc

Mishal hotel pretty much sucks with regards to the ladies. I've stayed there many times. It has like 6-8 Moroccon's. Some of them are fat, and some of them are manly looking and scary looking. A few of them are OK looking but never tried them. To sample, just go to the bar/disco outside it at night. It also has PRC and Thai's. The PRC girls are a bit old, and there's only one Thai chick that I like there with a big butt and big boobs. I've been seeing her for a year now. It also has an Ethiopian massage parlor which must be avoided at all cost. Overall, I would not recommend Mishal, but it is cheap compared to PH, although I think the Moroccon's charge the same and their quality is a lot lower than PH.

I've had the same experience with regards to finding a room in FP on numerous occasions. I tried during weekdays and still couldn't find a room. Lately however, I've managed to find a room there during the week days. Your best bet would be to get a bell boy's number or the number of the receptionist and maybe you could book in advance, or like already suggested, try after every hour. It'll be very difficult on the weekends though.
My Mamama trip has been postponed to mid-April, and I'm thinking of bringing a GF with me. She's Ethiopian, 22 y.o., has a regular job and a residence visa in Dubai, so I think she will be able to get a visit visa for Bahrain - anyone know if this is the case? Also, will she have any problems checking in and staying in my hotel with me for 3-4 days? (Radisson Diplomat Hotel).

I've done it before too, so I take the same shame as well. I've been out of Bahrain for nearly 2 years now, but I don't think the hunting isn't all that bad these days in Bahrain.
If your GF has all of the documents that she needs to go to Bahrain you won't have any problem taking her in with you. After you check in with her it's a done deal with the hotel, they will know she is with you. When I was in Saudi before I used to bring one with me sometimes, no problem at the Gulf Hotel back then.
Enjoy your trip to Bahrain. If the stars get lined up just right in the next couple of months, I may be on my way back to Bahrain for a couple of more years. If I get back, for sure bring your GF then and we can do a little duce is loose on her at my place, no hotel required

Regarding your first query, I don't think she'll have a problem getting a visit visa for Bahrain if she has a residence visa in Dubai. Not sure about the second question.
Piper, just to be on the safe side, book a double room in advance and mention her name in the booking as well. Say she's your fiance.
You can never take things for granted. A hotel that may have been GF in the past may not be so at another time. Or vice versa.

You will have no problem taking her to bahrain if she has all the paper work in order. I did not do it but my friend who unfortunately passed away used to do it all the time with eritrean girls. I do not know anything about the hotel condition in bahrain but as for her getting there for a short visit is not a problem unless ofcourse they changed the law. Make sure she is legal resident in Dubai and go from there.

-Those of us who have lived and worked in Bahrain over the past 15 years or more would say that the raids on hotels and arrests of owners hosting prostitutes is and was an annual activity by the Ministry of Interior, however, this year, the situation has slightly changed partly because of Bahrain having hosted the Anti-[CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908) conference earlier this month (March 2009) and the business in most hotels are down, and those who were used to getting their bribes at the Tourism Ministry didn't get what they were looking for.

6) Al Yamama Plaza (Behind the CPR office on Exhibition Road)
7) Taj Plaza Hotel (Juffair)

One of the main reasons behind raids targeting the above hotels is due to business being down and tourism affairs' official not receiving their percentage as expected. 3 weeks ago, close to 2,000 BD was spent on patrons from the Tourism Affairs at both Mashtan Hotel and Awal which involved a 7-course paid dinner and alcoholic beverages plus women. At the end of the night or rather the next morning, the tourism affairs did not receive the amount they had been paid in the past, and the very next night mashtan, awal, etc. were raided for engaging in illegal activity and staying open past the 2am license regulation. Since then, there has been a change in management at the Tourism Ministry.
Other hotels and apartments being targeted in these raids are:
1) Delmon Hotel (Diggers/Wendy's next to City Center Hotel)
2) Aradous Hotel (Bab Al Bahrain)
3) Juffair Plaza (shut down)
4) Mishaal Hotel (Opposite the French Embassy)
5) Al Fanar Plaza (next to The Palace)
3) Adhari Hotel (Bab Al Bahrain)
4) Frsan Hotel (Exhibition Road)
5) Baisan Hotel (Exhibition Road)
6) Seashell Hotel (Adliya)
7) The Palace (Um Al Hassam)
Apartments in the Juffair Area (behind the strip), Gudabiya, Adliya.
The Thai and Chineese restaurants have been practically empty at the usual peak hours around 1.30AM, 3-5PM, as the Mamasans and her girls are terrified of coming out and being rounded up as these locations are being monitored by various agencies, instead their Bahraini messengers/drivers do the ferrying about.
It would be a good idea to stay away from the above areas mentioned until things settle down for a while - that's expected to happen about a week before the Formula 1 weekend (April mid).

Some 6 weeks ago there were articles on local dailies about the need to put order on the ongoing prostitution and the hotels and venues patronizing it.
From yesterday's Pravda, sorry, GDN:
"NINETEEN people have been arrested in connection with the running of an alleged prostitution den in a Manama hotel.
It is the fifth establishment to have been shut down since the beginning of the year because of vice-related activities, Chief Public Prosecutor Ahmed Bucheeri said yesterday.
Sources tipped off the police that the hotel's Asian investor was running the den and hiring prostitutes to work for him.
After investigating the case, an arrest warrant was issued and police detained the 19 men and women during a raid, said Mr Bucheeri.
"The prostitutes confessed during questioning by the prosecution and claimed that they were charging BD5 to BD10 from their clients, who were directed to them by the hotel investor," he said."
What I want to know is: where the hell can you find girls for BD5 to BD10? Answers on a postcard....
This entire situation is politically quite interesting, because it's essentially the elected parliament on one side, and the actual owners of the hotels, many of whom are, ahem, "VIPs", on the other. It appears to go deeper than just religious busybodies sticking their noses into other people's business (not literally, hoho, although judging by the hypocrisy of some of these guys you never know - remember the MPs detour to Bangkok a couple of years ago? I think they were engaging in ping-pong diplomacy!) - I think it's also about the parliament trying to muscle in on the territory of the traditional establishment elite. Wonder how it'll turn out.
On an unrelated note, had another shocker with an Ethiopian a few weeks back. I spotted the buxom hottentot walking alone in Hoora one night, and like the chivalrous Lancelot that I am, offered her a lift to the hotel where she worked. She asked me to come in but I declined, exchanged numbers, and she called me the following day from work, asking me to come see her. I asked what time she finished (2am) and offered to meet her outside, so as not to have to spend several hours buying overpriced drinks for half of the Addis Ababa diaspora.
I expected her to insist that I came inside (to buy said drinks), but surprisingly she accepted; when the hour approached, I was dismayed to see she had three friends with her (all of them fat and ugly to boot), and, judging by previous African experience, reckoned I was to be used as a free taxi service, after which she would be "staying with her friend". But no, all three of them were dropped at their hovels, leaving only the two of us in the car. Flirtacious banter and leg-rubbing followed, after which she accepted an invitation up to my flat. Esconsed cosily together on my sofa, I started making a move to unwrap those four delightful orbs of bouncing black booty- and titty-flesh........when suddenly, she hit me with the sob story.
Apparently, she had lost her job, or never had one, or some such horse manure (I switched off after the first splurges of verbal diarrhoea), and would be thrown out of her flat and rendered homeless THE VERY NEXT MORNING unless she could come up with BD150 for her rapacious scrooge of a landlord. The fact that she had been living there for over a year and had never previously been late, and that she now had another job (I gently reminded her that I had, in fact, driven her to it the previous night, hence her protestations of unemployment rang somewhat hollow) made no difference - I was all that stood between her and life in a wheely bin. Sad to say, it was Wurzel Gummidge time, as, upon learning of my cruel refusal to furnish her with requested pecuniary assets, I noticed a marked shift in her attitude, which was swiftly followed by a marked shift in her position, from sitting on my sofa to standing in the street. As ever, there is a silver lining to the story: I happened to pass by her apartment block a while later, and noticed her entering, with a key. So she wasn't homeless after all - how that sight warmed the cockles of my heart!
Seriously, stay away from those lying bitches. Given the well-documented difficulties and dangers with pros at the moment, you can find freebies with cute Filipinas with a bit of work. I don't know if it's a deliberate policy of Lulu Hypermarket in Dana Mall to hire good-looking ones, but the ratio there isn't half bad. On a quiet day I got talking to my pretty little check-out girl, managed to get her digits, and good times followed. You can also check out (ahem) the 24 hour stores in Hoora around 2.30am, when the girls are coming home from their shifts in hotels. On two separate occasions, some flirty banter followed by an offer to pay for the ladies' purchases won me phone numbers, invitations chez Chris, and carnal knowledge. Only trouble is, you have to cut them loose after about ten sessions because they want to marry you!

The answer is Taj Palaced Hotel in Juffair, not far from the Marriott.
7th floor, follow the signs, after the pool, go up by one round of stairs.
You might be asked to leave an ID at reception
Seems the hotel offers more, but I have used the Thai massage facilities only

You can also go to Noor Tower Hotel in Hoora for a happy ending massage (I've mentioned it before in here). To get there, take the road off Exhibition with McDonalds on your right and Pizza Hut/petrol station on your left, and then take the first right (before you get onto the main road). Follow that road all the way along, past Baisan Hotel (Warbler) on your right hand side, until you hit a T-junction. Go left, then first right, and first right again, and Noor Tower's right there.
To get to the massage parlour, walk in, past the hotel reception on your left and go through the door in the far right corner of the room (to save you the shame of asking where it is :) ). They never stop me on the way in, and there's no ID check or any of that nonsense.
There's usually an Indian woman at reception who'll try and rip you off, but the rate is BD10 for a half hour, and BD 20 for an hour. If she says it's higher, just turn round and pretend to walk out and she'll swiftly change her mind!
There are a few Filipina and Ethiopian girls lounging around, so take your pick. Again, they'll try and screw you (financially, not sexually :( ) - particularly the Ethiopians, surprise surprise - but don't give them more than BD10 for the ending. What I do is start out at BD5, then when they act shocked, haggle my way up to BD10: if they still play up, I pretend to refuse their offer, and again, the prospect of earning nothing changes their simple minds rather quickly!
Seems to be a lot of this in the press recently. Will Bahrain actually clean up 'sinful activities'? Please ask them to wait a couple of weeks, as I will be there next week for about five nights.

All the Thai's minus one were not worth calling and the one who was rather decent had a shitty attitude. 25 BD wasted on the hotel. Checked out and went to the familiar hunting ground of Meshal hotel and had a good massage from my regular Thai.
Paid a visit to the Yamama disco as well. Spotted about 3 new Syrian's and a blonde as well. Place was the same as usual, didn't really see any effect of the recent raids on both Yamama or Meshal.
I'll be staying in the Diplomat for a few nights, paid by the organizers of my work there. But I may also stay a couple of extra nights in Manama at my own expense. Can anyone recommend an economically-priced hotel that would be suitable to bring in a non-WG Filipina? ie a comfortable hotel that will mind it's own business and will not ask for documents. As for your hotel query, not sure what you mean by a hotel that mind's its own business? Do you mean one where the hotel will allow you to bring in a companion with you or one where WG's don't bother you with knocks on doors?
When I don't want to be bothered by WG's in a hotel, I usually check into Claridge on Exhibition road next to the McDonald's. The same was my experience with Crowne Plaza hotel.

One option which reccommend is to use the Apartment hotels such as the Elite Suites 1 , which is just around the corner from the Baisan ( Warbler) . The cost is about $120/night for the 1 bed suite . No questions are asked about guests and internet is available for BD3/day. No documentation for guests is given, just have a good day from security.

Yamama has gone downhill since the 3rd quarter of last year. Now they only have a few Syrians although I spotted a few new ones this time around, but the best ones are long gone and I don't think they are coming back. Their rate is 40BD for ST.
It has Thai's too, about 7-8 with only a couple decent ones. 25BD is the going rate for ST with them. Occasionally they have a Turkish or a Moroccon too, but not often. That's about it. Yamama hasn't had Russians for over a year now.

If youre wondering what the hell kind of name is Crwan...that place used to be called Crown Plaza, but it had nothing to do with the Crown Plazas in the rest of the world. It was just a cheap hotel calling itself the Crown Plaza. Then when the Holiday Inn changed its name to CP, the hotel in Exhibition became the Crwan Plaza, which is a shit name for a hotel...but thats Bahrain

The Aradous is in the middle of the Souk and is a dive. Last time I looked in, during a Souk pub crawl it had a bar with some very tired Thai WGs including at least one elephant. Lots of Indian punters, this shows the type of market it is appealing to. There might be a gem or two. I saw one with gorgeous tits but she would only go with her friend with a combined price of BD60 for the pair of them. The other half of the deal was pushy and not very appealing so I passed. Duos like that tend to be a bit of a rip off.
Better would probably be the Delmon hotel. The rooms are reasonably good (according to a friend who has stayed there on business) since they had a refit and it's right on the spot for Diggers, one of the biggest congregations of Thai and PRC WGs on the island.
By all means check out the Aradous, but I would probably not want to stay there more than short time.

The Aradous is in the middle of the Souk and is a dive. Last time I looked in, during a Souk pub crawl it had a bar with some very tired Thai WGs including at least one elephant. Lots of Indian punters, this shows the type of market it is appealing to. There might be a gem or two. I saw one with gorgeous tits but she would only go with her friend with a combined price of BD60 for the pair of them. The other half of the deal was pushy and not very appealing so I passed. Duos like that tend to be a bit of a rip off.
Better would probably be the Delmon hotel. The rooms are reasonably good (according to a friend who has stayed there on business) since they had a refit and it's right on the spot for Diggers, one of the biggest congregations of Thai and PRC WGs on the island.
By all means check out the Aradous, but I would probably not want to stay there more than short time.

I went to Diggers last night, it's rare that I go there. I was looking for a momasan that got kicked out of Cosmos. I didn't see her but I got stopped a couple times and had long talks with a few Chinese ladies, but I kindly let them go. I spotted a really sext Thai lady and talked to her, the place was going to close soon so she asked if I can take her home, well I had no idea what the going rate was for Diggers. She said 80BD longtime. I was shocked and I said in Juffair I pay 50BD longtime. Then I asked her how much for ST, and she says 60BD. I kindly went home Mr Lonely.

I checked into Aradous Hotel in the souq a couple of days ago. Nice place and good suite – like a small apartment. Good value. They wanted 30BD, but I negotiated to 22. Basic clean hotel, lots of clubs. But no internet. As Expatcat mentioned, the clubs on the second floor are dives. But the Pinay club on the top floor was great. Ironically, it's called Cyclone. Not a WG club - mainly Phillipino groups and couples.
Aradous Hotel was recommended by Miss M (one of the Filipinas I chatted up on myspace). She said she could come to my room discreetly from the top-floor Pinay club. She was right - all went according to plan. She arrived at the club around 1030pm. She's not a stunner, but not bad looking, and cute. 22 yo, petite and a great little bronze ass. She was a bit shy at first, but she warmed up fast after a Smirnoff Ice. The band was great - I fell in love with one of the very cute singers.
Miss M and I enjoyed the band a while, then went down to my room around midnight, ordered food, chatted, then fucked heartily during the night (and day). A CRACKDOWN on all hotels violating tourism laws has been launched, it emerged yesterday. It follows a set of new by-laws regulating hotels' operations, Culture and Information Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa told MPs at their weekly session yesterday.
"We acknowledge there are violations being committed in hotels and we are working to deal with them," she said.
"Violating hotels will face penalties and even closure within a few days and MPs should wait for us to take these measures, as we promote family tourism."
She was replying to a question by MP Mohammed Khalid on the ministry's plans for the year to promote family tourism.
She said that despite the short period since her appointment as minister, she had been working hard to come up with new plans to promote family tourism.
"It has been just a few months since I took over, but I have come up with new executive by-laws to regulate hotels' operations and ensure that the industry becomes family-oriented.
"We have established a partnership with the community and they inform us about any violation they witness at hotels in their neighbourhood, and we immediately take action."
Mr Khalid said the country "doesn't know what family tourism means" and would never know unless the industry's working was revamped.
"Why has the ministry halted its plans to close down one- and two-star hotels despite knowing that they are source of most of the country's sleaze?
He praised Shaikha Mai's blueprints for family tourism and hoped they would be announced soon.
"I have seen the draft plans and I hope they become a reality, considering that everyone is desperate for family tourism - a dream that is yet to happen."
He said Shaikha Mai should co-ordinate with the Interior Ministry to combat sleaze at all tourist outlets, rooting them out from the source.
"Every day we hear about a racket with up to 50 people being caught, but the masterminds behind it are never arrested and that is why the problem keeps recurring again and again.
"I visited three hotels on Thursday night last week and, trust me, the scenes were far away from the family tourism the minister wants to see in the country.
"That's not all. Some sheesha shop owners have turned their places into sheesha bars, where alcohol is served and women dance as if it were a disco."

My guess is that the authorites will target mainly the one-star and two-star hotels/clubs, and will try to contain WG activity to a few 'middle-class' tourist-oriented places that can be monitored relatively easily. But they will not stop WG activity completely. This makes economic and social sense.

I stayed my final two nights at Pars Hotel. No time for a night of hunting, but I did a quick check of the clubs. The best club for action is Club Z on the first floor (next door to the Latin Club). There were mainly non-WGs dancing away, but a few hot Russian blondes sitting around - clearly WGs. Their straw in the beer, sitting by the bar with lots of eye-contact is a dead give-away.

Some of my co-workers mentioned this morning that clubs in 2 Star hotels, that have working girls are closed.
I guess one evident thing is, they know exactly where working girls are.
They don't completely care to stop prostitution 100%. They know the working ladies bring money to the economy one way or another.
But, oh... they like to look like a clean place when some foreigners from non-neighboring countries come to visit. It's like cleaning up your usually dirty house, right before guests come over. I'm sure after all this F1 hoopla is over, things will return to normal.

Diggers is still on the go and most of the Juffair haunts are lively. The demise of JJs, Queens bar (Oh what saddness !!!) and Seashell are significant but localised.
The effect of this measure seems to have been to clean up Adliya rather that to clean up the country as a whole.
This appears to be in line with the recent pedestrianisation and 'Gentrification' of Shwarma Ally and the promotion of Adliya as a desirable residential and tourist area. It is perhaps not co-incidental that this occurs a week before F1.
If this takes the heat of our parliament's calls for the banning of alcohol (Because of percieved connections to low class slease) it might have been a politically adept move.
Let's waitand see.
As big a problem as any is likely to be that the price of ale will become inflated as the trade is concentrated increasingly in the 4 and 5 star hotels with their greater margines and demands for profitability.
There is also a reasonable chance that the internet (Expatriates.com, ISG etc) will become increasingly significant as the knocking shops dwindle. But, beware, I would be astonished if LE have not spotted that one.
I hope that your view of the situation is correct with the place getting back to normal after F1. Mind you, some of the Bahraini owners must be mad as hell with clubs like Club Seven, BJs and the like closed just before F1 when they were going to stage before and after parties. Al Bustan closed, I'm certain Mishal Hotel is only a two star so that will be a non starter. Stupidly, JJs was just a good bar, without WGs. Rock n Z definitely had them, but JJs was mainly Gulf Air and civilians.
The Delmon Hotel is a four star (it has a pool which boosts its rating) so Diggers should be ok for now, amazing since they have one of the biggest crowds of WGs on the island. Aradous will probably suffer and the Sea Shell I would imagine will close. Not sure about F1 bar in the Metropolitan.
I think the government are shooting themselves in the foot with their actions. They claim on one hand 'Business Friendly Bahrain' and on the other clamp down with draconian measures at zero notice. Similar to the booze ban during Ramadan four years ago and the last minute ban on New Years Eve entertainment this year. Are they pushing all the entertainment to the five star hotels that not everyone can afford. It'll go underground.
Yet another nail in the coffin of freedom of choice in the pleasure island at the end of the Saudi pier.

Just got back from Bahrain and found out the bad news about the liquor ban in 1-2 star hotels as well as the ban on disco's. Exhibition road looked like a ghost town. I stayed at Meshal hotel which has also been affected by the ban, so their disco was also closed.
So much for the Bahraini authorities trying to make Bahrain a more 'Family friendly' place when all the WG's in the affected hotels are still there. What hypocrites. I read in today's Bahrain tribune that these 1/2 star hotels have already started laying off workers that worked in the bars, etc. So I'm not sure if this ban will be permanent or just a stunt.
This Bahraini I know told me that it'll last for a few weeks max. Let's see. Without liquor and dancing girls at the 1/2 star hotels, Bahrain is just not the same.

But no problem bringing a girl from one of the clubs direct to your room - no need to pass reception, and no security cameras in the hallways.

Hotels and furnished apartments have different rules and legal requirements. This is the interesting part. The crackdowns seems to be targeting mostly low end hotels and bars, but not furnished apartments. And tbh, I believe that the bulk of the flesh trade is focused in furnished apts. So that may be a hopeful sign that the crackdown is not as pervasive as it may appear. As long as conservative MPs dont make good on their threats to protest in front of these places, I think things may be OK on that front.
Popped out for a brief recce last night. First passed by the Royal, Gudaibiya, which is completely closed: wire over the front doors, doors locked. Then nipped into Seashell - the bar is open and still teeming with hatchet-faced Chinks, but no alcohol can be served, soft drinks only.
Next port of call - Al Bustan. It is indeed true that every outlet has been closed, with the exception of the little coffee shop on the left as you enter, but upon conversing with the receptionist, I was assured that it would be back to normal in "two or three days". "Tomorrow or after tomorrow," agreed a Bahraini in the lobby: "the king has signed the paper" (whatever that means).
I passed by Bristol Hotel at chucking out time on the way home and it appeared deserted, but there was a huge crowd, mostly Ethiopian, outside the Concord Hotel just up the road. Upon further investigation, I discovered Concord is apparently one of the only lower-end places still open, so will probably be pretty bangin for the moment (rather like some of the magnificently shapely African booties on display outside.....but best not go down that chocolate highway again).
With any luck, like most things here it'll all be more or less back to normal in a few weeks. Even if they are reopened though, there certainly does seem to be a ratcheting effect going on: I've been here for a few years, and the restrictive climate is far removed from what it was in the 90s. Ah, how I miss good old Shaikh Isa!
Incidentally, I've heard that the big shots in Saudi are partly behind this too: they want the 1 and 2 star places closed because they've been having problems over the number of low-income Saudis heading across the bridge, bankrupting themselves and/or returning home with an exciting cocktail of STDs. Obviously, their own high-priced hookers in the five-star hotels will remain completely unaffected!

Reading this forum, it seems staying in Phonecia will be a good option. Is advanced booking recommended? It doesnt seem hotel has its own website and my experience booking through intermediate agencies is not good. Any advice is appreciated.

From my experience, if you're going on a Sunday which is non-Saudi weekend day, you should get a room at Phoenicia without booking. On Wednesday nights and Thursdays it is most difficult to find a room.

Stuck my head in the Wrangler last night (Wednesday) around 11:30 and the place was very quiet. One slim, tasty looking African standing by the door, but not a lot else. They have changed the entrance to Wranglers. You don't get in through the lobby, but have to enter via a new door to the left of the main entrance. You then go in facing the bar. Very slim pickings for a Wednesday, I thought. Usually it's heaving. Don't know if it's the crackdown, or the F1 weekend moving the tarts to other venues.

And I am not from LE as someone else on here had suggested earlier last month ;-) I work with a non profit Thai foundation and the Thai diplomatic mission to aid their nationals in returning to Thailand.

I stopped by to see if Rockin Z's or JJ's was open and as soon as I walked in, the guy at the front desk said it's all closed. I had to ask him three times "when will they open back up?" before he gave me a reply. He said he didn't know, depends on the rules.
I stopped by F1 at 9:15PM and it was empty, just a few guys and the band.
Later however, when I drove by at about 1AM, it seemed busy on the outside. I thought the girls went there earlier.
I stopped by Cosmos and it was it's usual self. I looked in Rock Bottom's and it's all normal. Some of the girls I know from Cosmo's weren't there, so I asked someone where they went. So I went to Enigma's and there I saw 6 Thai girls in there that are usually in Cosmo's. I later seen some guys that usually go to Cosmo's come inside to find their "sweeties" hehe . As far as the clubs in the Al Bustan Hotel, they are shut down completely.
No anything. They didn't just stop selling alcohol, or stop playing music like during Ramadan. There were a couple ladies sitting in the lobby however.
My friend had a number to one of the girls working in Rockin Z's, and I suggested he call her and see what those ladies are doing these days.
He never got back to me on that one though.

I m going to report my two visits:
One at Khalid Plaza and second at my regular FP.

Expatcat, you're right about girls going to the bars even though they don't serve alcohol. The one in Meshal hotel is another example. You see the same WG's from the hotel sitting there smoking sheesha and looking for customers.
On a related note, I spent a night in Yamama the other day. No disco/alcohol in the bar but it's business as usual in the rooms. WG's, booze, etc. No change on that front. Hmmm... I have my own place to live here, which happens to have about 40 Thai ladies also living in the same building, and it's not a big building.
As far as I know all the places you mentioned require you to check-in and get a room, then you can get numbers from the bellboy or you get ladies knocking on your door. I never felt a need to check-in to a hotel because I have a place to live already. The only place I seen Russian ladies were in a club attached to the Al Safir Hotel. There were Russian ladies giving a dancing show and men spending too much money on the ladies.
I'm not sure if these ladies are availible, but for a certain price, I'm sure they are.

I had the same problem as you many times in trying to get a room at FP. Lately though(since the past 3-4 months), I was able to find a room there during week days, when it is not a Saudi weekend. As it has been suggested before on this forum, if you don't find a room, try back in a hour or so and repeat until you do. I don't think it's impossible to find a room there on a Sun, Mon, Tue or even Sat.
Beware though, the hygiene in that place is quite bad. I've only stayed there once and was turned off by the bathrooms to mention just one thing. Also, a HUGE turn off for me is that I don't think they even change the bedsheets/pillow covers each time after an occupant checks out. I don't know about the rest of you but that's just terrible imo and is the reason why I didn't take the room the last time I found an empty room there. Also, imo, the quality of the girls was average at best there.

Out of all the times that I went to FP, I generally had no problem, sometime may be on weekends, they would say it is full, otherwise on weekdays, it is generally always yes. I can not figure out why you face this problem. I generally make good rappo with bell boy and the man at the counter and many times languages also help - no I dont speak Arabic.
Most of the R's quoted 25 and some also wanted 20 but they were a shade lower in look and feel department. PRC were going for 15 and T's were at 20 including some massage. I also called Sy.. and they said 25 and but Turk were at 20.

I had a similar problem in PH. When I arrived late night from US, they told me that there is only one suite left. 100BD per night. This was on Sunday. I negotiated down to 70BD (including breakfast). I didnt care since I can get reimbursed for lodging. It was a big suite with a couple of couches, sea view,... Not bad. I noticed that the hotel is not full as they claimed. In future, if I arrive late night, I will book my room in advance.

Upon further reading you will have noticed that the bars and clubs located with 1 and 2 stars hotels have been closed.
Other than that, you will see some recent posts on places that are business as usual. There are still plenty of ladies availible, and there are still plenty of guys with cash and eager cocks.

While the link you give is good, just googling 'proxies' will give sites that are generally blocked. Anything with the word 'proxy' is blocked by the Bahrain uber-cyber police in the name of 'good taste'. WTF that means is beyond me.
Another way round is to google 'portable TOR' and download the application onto a USB drive. It uses The Onion Router which is useful to get around the bloody ban. Alternative you could try 'FoxyProxy' with Firefox. Using both or either in combination on a Mac seems to work for me. YMMV. I've had no problems using FoxyProxy though it is a little slow at times and it can drop the connection. Still, it's better than not being able to access ISG at all.

I'm in Bahrain, and using a program called "Hotspot Shield". If you google the name, you'll get loads of download links. Many will be blocked, but you should be able to find one that works (I did). Once you've downloaded the program, you can switch it on and off whenever you need to: while it's on, you can access blocked sites, but the internet will be marginally slower, and there are annoying banners at the top of the screen and pop-up ads; but when you turn it off everything goes back to normal. I've been using it for a few months now, and my computer's not blown up or broken down.

You are correct that a lot of them are blocked so that's why you have to search for one that is good.
The best solution is to subscribe to one of those anonymous proxy email lists, where they send you daily/bi weekly emails with new proxies set up which are sure to be unblocked. That's where I am getting all these proxies which are good, cause fairly soon I'm sure the one I'm using right now will be blocked as well.
