Airport taxi to Jounieh was negotiated from $50 to $30 but it took almost $20 of my life to manage it.
Jounieh, the Christian area north of the main city, is where much of the action is—have not seen Beirut center yet, so cannot compare really, but from what I hear and see, I believe this to be the case. What type of action?
Super Night Clubs (SNC) are just as described in all the other forums. They open around 10 PM. The ones I visited have about a dozen bored looking Russian or Eastern European girls smoking cigarettes. The manager will tell you which ones will go with you and which ones will not, so make your intentions clear. Drinks are OK, but to even speak to a girl, you have to buy the Champaign which ranges from $65 to $85. This gives you an hour chatting and groping a girl. You can then negotiate for the next day if the girl will come to your room. Most ask for about $150. Girls have to be in the clubs from 10 PM to 5 AM, and cannot leave the hotel until 1 PM. So your actual time to get to business is from 1-7 PM.
In the hotel next to mine, which hosts a SNC, during the day several very hot looking tarts were lounging on a balcony so I went over and tried to talk with them. The pimp, or manager, or whatever term applies, put a quick stop to that and said I had to pay $100 to take a girl out. Why more expensive from the lobby than the SNC? Go figure.
