Caution. I have the numbers of most Maggie's bar girls (the ones I like, and the ones who don't get shooed away by the ones who like me ..) But the numbers mean nothing. They love to meet you for shopping. And then ta ta.

I quickly got tired of taking them to Guo Mao or Lufthansa to buy perfume and the latest Nokia. After some years, we developed real buddy-buddy friendships, we have a little family and do regular social dinners. But no nookie.

Well I guess will weigh this time: I normally set from the side lines and just listen to all of the good advice and actually take on the follow through aspects. What my man Mr. Zhuren has said is completey true; meaning when these girls are not at work; they on completely different and happy someone is not always trying stick thier finger up their ass in those tight jeans or a dress. I have even some girls whom I became great freinds with tell me slow down on the drinking game stuff or not trying to push more drinks down my neck neither; because they don't want me spending so money in M's and not because they want me to spend it on them in their free time off.

They just say you are so cool black brother and I don't mind going over to your place to cook a you a meal and give you a nice piece of ass at the same time. Hell I have even been know for walking out of M's with three or four Mongolian sweethearts and there is no I'll side affects; Plus they did not even charge me anything (but I am the type who will be a gentleman and tip for good service).

Yes I am saying this from exprience because I have been in beijing since 1998 off and on. But more on perament bases since 2001. I must admit I have great gal at home; but the dog in me tells me that I just need to screw someone on the side just to keep me happy and not dip my wick into the work force.

Also gotten some good stuff in Centro on many occassion and hell this is with the mngt help. Help myself to some of them on the west side too at shangri-la; but that is another story about srewing my Chinese mei mei; at least they start out as meimei and then they change once they come over the crib and want become my perosnal screw partners. It must be the western satelite and barbecue grilling at home of the meals I cook. (ha ha) Over all beleive China is still the land of sweet milk and giving lots of honey if you treat them right.

A few years ago I ran into two of the Maggie's regulars/old-timers at Fenwick's in HK, with a then-Mags waitress in tow. I said, uh, what's she doing here? The Mongolian woman looked at me like I was a dunce and said, "what do you think she's doing here?"

Like with any other woman anywhere else on the planet--try it. You'll know fairly quickly whether you're just an ATM or whether she's a LBFM.

I learned she lived in Europe and was on her way back to Mongolia to visit her family. She was obviously well taken care of, but when I enquired as to her services she said “yes, because I looked like a nice guy.” I asked her to first go to Maggie’s with me, but she said she could not go there. I learned from her friend that her European husband’s friends often visit Maggie’s, and if she were to go there he would find out she was working again. Here is a girl who has a fantastic life but she still could not resist the temptation of making some quick money in Beijing before going home to Mongolia.

Every girl is different, and every situation is different, but I guess you could say that the odds of getting a Mongolian girl to go straight are about the same as the odds of getting a Maggie’s girl to go home with you – small.

I also can confirm this observation. I've met ( & had) serveral Mongolian maidens who claimed a regular Western boyfriend. I'm inclined to believe them, because they only showed on occasion. The occasion was when the BF was out of town. They even asked me to not tell their BF that they are making a quick RMB while he was out of town.

Say, LT is RMB1,000, but, if do it e.g. 4-times a months, it is 10% cheaper

or

A strait retainer fee of RMB10,000 for the privilege to do it whenever one is up to it.

The last I was in Beijing was April 2007. Have only been to Beijing 4 times before and am looking forward to my fifth trip. I normally stay at the Jinglun Nikko Hotel and there are loads of freelancers and pimps roaming the streets in front of the hotel. There are also plenty of girls to choose from the Jinglun Hotel pub (I can't remember the name).

Out of the 4 trips, twice with the Mrs (erk!) and twice with my nerdy colleagues that prefers 'Mrs Palm and her five children' to a good shag. I would normally stay on a low-low (low profile) when I'm with someone. It was not a nice practice for the pimps to distribute call cards to anyone and everyone that walk the streets. Nobody collects these call cards for a quick wank. And I woudn't want to pay them and prefers freelancer (unless desperation kicks-in).

My next trip to Beijing will be a solo act and am eager to taste those pretty, smooth skin Beijing goods.

Any good advice in and around Jinglun Nikko Hotel? Any receommendations and the damages I am expected to face?

I spent 2 hours over two days looking in building 417, 419, 421, etc. All seemed to have the sliding glass doors (and Christmas lights) that were described, but all were locked. I looked on day at 10pm and the other day at 1 pm. So, day and night these places were closed. I walked ALL OVER the lower floor of the buildings, accidentally one time in an appartment. I used the bathroom in several of the buildings (all seem to have a bathroom on the lower floors.) Can someone actually confirm that these places exist? It sounds like they were open only last week. What is happening with them?

It's my inaugural trip to China and having heard so much about Maggies, my friend and I decided to head down to it last night. Here's the trip report, so for those of you who have read many already please bare with me.

We arrived at Maggie's around 10: 30 pm last night, Thursday night. There's this bouncer dude at the front of the bar and he asks me and my friend, who are both Asian, for some membership card. We tell him we have no card, but we have a foreign driver's license, show him, speak some fluent English and he let's us in.

The place isn't too busy, but most of the bar seats are taken along with the pool table being occupied.

Lots of Caucasian guys around, I assume they are mostly American and Canadian who appear in their mid 40's to 50's maybe. Later on that evening around midnight there appear to be a lot more younger guys in their 30'sc coming in, some even in their 20's I say. So overall a good mix of guys from all ethnicities around the place.

My friend and I take up a bar seat to start, order a couple of beers for 30 yuan each and wait to see if we get approached. We sit for 10 minutes, drink and no girls are coming. We see like 7 or 8 girls lined up against the wall and wonder why don't come. Then again, we figure maybe we need to move elsewhere or ask them so we do.

We then move to a couch, wait again for another few minutes for girls to approach, but again no luck. So I decide screw this, get up and go grab a girl who is alone and ask her to join us. Her english is ok, but not that good.

I then go and grab a girl on the wall, and this one who I will call Mary (not her real english btw) speaks much better english.

So being that it's my first time to a place like this, I ask Mary a bunch of questions on how things work around here. I already have a good idea from reading all the posts on this forum, but wanted to see if there was any other insight she could offer me.

Basically, the local Chinese girls sit, talk, flirt, touch (how much depends on the comfort level of the girl), and of course drink. They order the most expensive drink on the menu which is like 100 yuan. It's suppose to be alcoholic, but it's not (I took a sip). I was fine with this since I already knew this beforehard but Mary thought I was going to be mad. LOL

Anyways, these local Chinese girls are suppose to stay with the guy until the guy leaves. That or when the guy decides to kick them away because they are boring, no fun, ugly, whatever. Otherwise they stay.

Mary tells me that the girls aren't allowed to drink alcohol, but my buddy who was wish this other local Chinese girl said his girl actually ordered brandy and drank it so it seems like there is a mixed story here.

A little later on, Mary invites her friend Jane over to join me. I buy her a drink too. Jane (also not her real name) is very pretty, probably IMHO the prettiest Chinese girl in the place.

I ordered 2 drinks for Mary during the 1. 5 hours that I was there. She actually asked for a 3rd drink, but I was only staying another few minutes before I had to go. For Jane I only ordered one drink.

Now here's the interesting thing. I tell the girls that I have to go soon, grab my jacket and advise them that they can go and speak to the other guys if they like. It's around midnight now and the bar is starting to fill up more and I'm pretty sure there are more guys than girls now. The girls don't leave though. In fact, I told them twice I had to get going but they kept nailing me down and got very touchy, huggy, and gave me major signs that they did not want me to go. All this after I said that I wasn't going to buy them anymore drinks and that I said that they could go entertain the other guys.

This will come off as a brag, and I guess it is hahah, but I consider myself a fun guy and I really had the girls geniunely laughing at a lot of things I was saying to them and playing with them. I got the feeling that they were really having a good time with me and maybe that's why they didn't want to go and leave?

Or maybe they just wanted me to change my mind and stay and buy them more drinks? But then again there were lots of guys there, so they could've easily gotten another guy to sit with.

Anyways, I don't know what to really think. Like I said, it's my first time in these establishments.

I did get the email address and phone number of both girls I was with and am suppose to meet up with Mary tonight for dinner when she gets up. She texted me on my phone and would confirm. Not sure if it will happen, but if it does I'll do a follow up report.

Because I had to get up really early today, I didn't talk to any of the Mongolian girls. Some of them were indeed hot, some meh.

I might head back tonight or tommorow and see how things are some more, but with you all telling me that it's a zoo on the weekends I don't know how my luck might go. Hahah.

Sammy has long been against the whole freebie concept. It just seems it is too dangerous (ie, the girl will get too clingy), and more costly in the long run. Never-the-less, I have read the stories of my brothers here on the board, and tried to venture into freebie land. I have been chatting up this normal girl who is a waitress in one of my favorite restaurants. She is from Sichuan, and I have know her for a little over a year. We recently had an innocent dinner together, and on a separate occasion we met at a bar for drinks. She got a little tipsy, and we experienced our first physical contact. More like 2 kids going at it during a high school dance than anything else. I suggest we go back to my place, and she said she could not, but would come over "tomorrow". Next day I am tied up with business, but we text each other back and forth. Have lunch at her place one more time, and flirt some more.

Today we are texting back and forth and she informs me her birthday is next month. Here we go - fishing for a gift.

Ouch! Well, a low end Nokia or Motorola is not that expensive...but

She will be appreciative, and who knows, maybe even make it into my bed. Then I will be hooked. The worst part is that if things don't go well, or I try to break it off, I will have to stop going to one of my favorite restaurants. I just need to hit the KTV and pick up a girl for the night who looks just like her :)

It is for this reason that I always recommend sticking to the pay-for-play scene. If you do your research you always know what you are going to get for the money you spend, and there are no additional complications.

Seems like our favorite massage places in Wangjing Xincheng(419, 417, 303...) have been systematically closed all of a sudden. I did have a chance to inquire with the guard in Bldg 303 about that place. He did not say why it had closed, but said that it will RE-OPEN in early December. Whether that is the case or not, we'll see....

I have RTFF. I have RTFF again. But I am so ashame to have been to 419 and 303 twice without being able to find the right door! Dull? Yes. Indeed. Agree. I found the buildings, but did not manage to find the right door! Not in the basement, not in Ground- nor First Floor (which I could not access)

First off, thanks to Zhuren for the tips and pointers.

It's not that I don't want to leave with a Mongolian girl, but right now I am staying at my friend's place and he doesn't want me bringing any girls back. Do you know if these girls have a place of their own that they could just take me to for a quickie?

Anyways, here's a follow up to Mary on what happened today.

Earlier on this morning I text message her and ask her if she wants to join me for dinner. She says yes, she can but can't do it till like 6 pm. She also tells me that she has to work at like 9 pm. I figure this is ok, we still have a couple of hours to spend together and talk so no big deal.

Well, 6 o'clock rolls around and she tells me that she wants to meet up for dinner at 7:30 pm. This really doesn't leave us a lot of time to talk, but I'm still ok for it since I'm not doing much, am hungry and don't mind going out for a bit. I do tell her that I won't be able to go to Maggie's tonight because I need to be meeting up with some other people. (So Zhuren, I apologize if I couldn't catch you guys tonight for the lessons.)

So I meet her up at the subway at about 7:40 pm and she takes me to a nearby noodle place. We eat, talk.

Then she asks me if I really need to go to meet up with my friends shortly. I tell her that I need to go by 9:00 or so, roughly the same time she starts work.

She then says that if she is late for for work, she will get in trouble from her manager named Gerrick. However, if she brings a foreigner to work with her to work and the foreigner buys a drink for himself and another for the girl then she can be up to 1 hour late and not get in trouble.

So by this point, I feel I am being slightly used. I say slightly because she wasn't out to really leech on me. Maybe not just entirely yet. Still I told her that I couldn't go to Maggie's tonight yet felt a little guilt-tripped strong armed into going with her.

I didn't go, but I didn't want her to get in trouble either. Instead I offer to give her 130 yuan (100 for her drink, 30 for mine) and tell her to give it to Gerrick and that if he has any problems at all to call me and I'll speak to him.

Well she didn't take the 130, she only took 100. We then departed ways.

Well, I must say I am a little disappointed in her, but I guess I should have seen this coming sooner. I'll treat that 100 as a tip for her since I didn't give her anything the night before. Still, I prefer some more honesty up front. I don't mind if the girl wants me to shop with her, buy her things, treat her for dinners, etc. I just don't like being tricked like this, even though it wasn't for much. It's more a principle thing for me.

BJ Fox was met at M's. Sammy was in attendance also. To remind BJF of his wife in Japan, we decked out mine in a formal kimono.

BJF is a frightening Doppelgänger, he was even born in a town close to my birthplace, speaks the same patois. At least he has a little goatee, which sets him slightly apart.

When he had left with a rather unassuming Mongolian, my wife quipped: "He looks like the bad boy you were when you were his age." Still not sure what to make of this remark.

Seems like our favorite massage places in Wangjing Xincheng(419, 417, 303...) have been systematically closed all of a sudden. I did have a chance to inquire with the guard in Bldg 303 about that place. He did not say why it had closed, but said that it will RE-OPEN in early December. I think that perhaps the past few months have been particularly pro-Maggies because of various difficulting arising elsewhere. For instance, you only have to go back to August to fine a healthy dose of posts about Hollywood (I have to credit BBB for getting me started there, I think). But Hollywood is clearly not what it used to be, hence the dearth of posts, and Maggies is literally just around the corner, doing well.

But I must chime in with Intransit here, Wujohn. I know Zhuren is more than able to stand up for himself, of course. I assure you he's as straight a shooter and as objective as you're going to find. It would be nice if we had more variety in Beijing, and as a Chinese speaker, I can tell you that there isn't so much more out there. Admittedly, I'm not into the karaoke scene. There are some ok saunas, but nothing to approach the quality you get in Shanghai, and certainly not for the same price (where's the red rope?). I've used some excellent freelancers in Beijing (such as Kitty and Yao Yao, no, DO NOT ask me for their contact information, do your own homework). I have to admit that there is a lot about Maggie's in this forum - maybe to much? But, if anybody doesn't like it, nobody is forcing him to read it.

It would be nice if we had more variety in Beijing, and as a Chinese speaker, I can tell you that there isn't so much more out there. Admittedly, I'm not into the karaoke scene. There are some ok saunas, but nothing to approach the quality you get in Shanghai, and certainly not for the same price (where's the red rope?). I've used some excellent freelancers in Beijing (such as Kitty and Yao Yao, no, DO NOT ask me for their contact information, do your own homework). But compared to other cities, such as Hong Kong, Beijing is not that accessible for P4P. As such, most of us end up at Maggie's, we find that we like it there, and we continue to go there. That's not Zhuren's or anyone else's fault. If you find alternatives, please let us know.

Typically when I take a Chinese girl with me to Maggie's I have already given her some type of tip at the bar/KTV where I pulled her from. I try to make it clear to her that she is welcome to go with me to Maggie's to drink/dance, but anything else will be at my discression.

Had the pleasure of being back in Beijing two of the last three weekends.

Sorry I had such little notice for my first weekend Zhuren. I would love to hook up with you, Billy, Sammy or any of the Beijing gang at some point.

This past weekend, I had employees with me that are rather conservative so I had to keep it pretty low key.

After arriving late on Friday night, I had a regular Mongolian friend visit me for a late night treat. Saturday night, I kept my employees happy with dinner and drinks at various locales on Sanitlun. I ended up with a rather tall, 5' 7" or so, Chinese girl that was quite a romp in the room. Total damage was 700 rmb. Also had a nice time chatting up the staff and other customers at The Den.

I will be back in early January and may be able to hook up with many of you including Billy if we happen to be crossing paths the same day.

IMHO, Maggies is one of the best bars anywhere in Asia, possibly in the world.

Hollywood is a seedy, Russian WG hangout catering mostly to local patrons. They do have a few Chinese and Mongolian WG girls there too. The place was pretty dead (limited stock) when I was there last month, but things can change quickly. Worth a look if you are into Russian girls, but no comparison to Maggies.

Maggies sounds great - but I will not have a hotel room and have a flight at around 9 in the evening, so I guess taking a girl from Maggies is not an option.

i spent a few days in beijing last week right after my guangzhu trip. the first two days i got my girlfriend to stay with me at the hotel, but i told her that i would only spent two nights in beijing (when in fact i was going to spend four nights there) and kicked her out on the third day.

on the third evening, i had an early day and returned to the hotel before dusk. i then had a sudden urge to go hunting. without any research backup, i decided to explore the area south of the oriental plaza. i walked down taijichang, turned east on the second ring road south, and continued all the way to qianmen, but couldn’t find anything interesting. the novotel had a sauna at the basement, but after taking a quick shower i was told by the manageress that they only offered straight massage with no extras. and that's 100 yuan, thank you very much.

frustrated, i decided to turn to an old place that i hadn’t visited for quite some time, the haishang yinhe sauna on lianhua donglu (lotus road east) near the west train station. the sauna, which i first reviewed in march 2006, is located in a small street off lianhua donglu, just behind the zhongtu building, the headquarters of china civil engineering construction corp. i don't remember the name of that street, and if it is not beifengguo (north beehive street) that it is very near it. if you're heading west from city centre on lianhua donglu you may want to go slowly when you're near the west train station.

haishang yinhe takes up three floors (including a basement) of the commercial podium of a big building. as you walk in, five to six receptionists in golden traditional chinese dress (qipao) will bow to you and one of them will lead you downstairs to the men’s locker room (the women’s locker room is located at the other side of the basement. i went through the routine of undressing, showering and dressing up (the pajamas cost some 38 yuan, if i remember correctly) quickly, and went upstairs to the massage rooms on the second floor. the thing i like about this place is that you can go to the massage rooms right away without stopping over at the lounge, which together with the gym and the restaurant is located on the third floor. (it seems the first floor doesn’t belong to the sauna except for the entrance hall).

Tried out the Hai Shang Yin He. Was totally bogus. I followed the whole routine just like in WooVictor's post. Followed the directions exactly, but it wasn't called Hai Shang Yin He. It was called Hai Shang Tian He. No big deal, the massage was gonna be the same. Or so I thought.

I'm a bit surprised to hear about your experience, but there's really nothing I can do for you.

First, I do remember that place as Haishang Yinhe. I first reviewed it in March 2006 and that's the name I used at that time. Kunshan's translation into Chinese characters is correct. (I use an Apple and have trouble showing Chinese characters on this forum, but there's no problem displaying Chinese characters on other applications in my Powerbook).

Although I could not display any Chinese characters, I explained in my report the Chinese names in English to help the brothers. The main road is Lotus Pond Road East (sorry, I forgot the "pond" in the report). As I said I didn't know the name of the small street, but I gave the name of the building next to the sauna, and also a nearby street, Beehive Street North.

Further, if you go to www.digitalbeijing.gov.cn, you can find a pretty detailed map (Chinese only, no English).

Second, yes, I'm Hong Kong Chinese, as Intransit correctly guessed. Also as he said, different people will have different experience in the same place. This is particularly true for Westerners. I don't know whether the establishment has a racist policy, or whether it was just that girl who didn't want to do it with a foreigner. There are Chinese girls who particularly like to have sex with foreigners. It's just a matter of luck.

I just came off of a night at Maggies and thought this would be timely, considering Road Lover's question for directions. (Basically, tell the taxi driver "Maggies" and they know. It is at the south gate of ReTan Park.)

I arrived at Maggies on Friday night at around 11:30 p.m. It was still fairly quiet and of the women in the bar, the average age was 30 plus and somewhere in the 5-6 range in looks. Some of the women where actually pretty tragic looking. Given the fact that this has been described as one of the best bars in the world, I figured I was too early and decided to hang out. The evening picked up and quality improved, but not that much, and the male-female ratio never got better.

While I was looking around I ended up spending a fair amount of time talking to one of the girls on staff. It is hard to tell sometimes who is staff and who is not, since they mingle a lot. The best way to tell is to watch which girls walk behind the bar.

Drinks for the staff cost either RMB100 (around the world) or RMB80 (long island ice tea). Of course the staff member I was buying drinks for always swore that they were straight up liquor, but having tried them I know that at least one of them was apple juice. Nevertheless, I had a great time talking to the staff member and it was pretty well understood that she was not going out for the night.

But I was seriously thrown-off when she asked for a tip. After spending RMB1,500 on drinks, at least one of which was apple juice, and with no expectation of sex, I thought asking for a tip seemed to be adding salt to the wound. When I refused, she got offended and tried to explain how I had just spent a ton of money on drinks and shouldn't be so cheap as to not tip the staff. She even told me that the next time I was in Maggies I should try and be more considerate and pay the girls a tip (btw - she is one of the top/most popular girls among the staff - for those who have been there). In her defense, while the drinks I bought her went towards her monthly requirements at the bar, it did not actually add anything to her pocket.

I've been to some of the big name bars around the world that are pay for play (Help in Rio de Janeiro, CM2 in Bangkok, Fenwicks in HK, etc.) and I put Maggies way below any of them. If you are in Beijing and looking for a place to go out, it is a good time. The music is pretty good, service is great and it is not too smokey. It was a special pleasure to see Maggies for the first time. Arrived way to early around 10, but by 11:30 the place was smoking. Really enjoyed meeting Zhuren and his lovely wife. They are something else...the life of the party and it was most definitely a party. I stood back and laughed as the two of them did an exaggerated dirty dance. The crowd was in stiches. Really pleased to be present for the birthday celebration.

Later found a nice Mongolian/Korean fourth year journalist student and departed for the evening. She told me she was in town for only 8 days. She left in the morning to buy books with her proceeds(800 rmb). If most of the Mongolian girls give service like that girl...well no wonder they have a nice reputation. I departed after five days in Beijing for Bangkok. Must say I have reservations about revisiting BJ. Maybe it was the time of year, but it certainly qualifies as a cold poluted somber city. I departed after five days in Beijing for Bangkok. Must say I have reservations about revisiting BJ. Maybe it was the time of year, but it certainly qualifies as a cold poluted somber city. I like HK much more by comparison...even though fees may be higher. For an all round nice vacation, HK gets the nod from me. Now in BKK and we shall see.

BTW: Stayed at Crowne Plaza in Wangfujing for five nights. On the second night noticed a WL in the lounge trying to pick up a guy (me among others), By the third night, a sign was posted by the elevators advising that non registered guests must check in at the front desk. Indeed, that night I called a number furnished by "Sunny" (recommended by One Wing Low) and when the girl arrived, she was intercepted by reception staff. I called her to see why she was late and simply went downstairs to sign her in. No real hassle. Fourh night a friend with luggage in tow came upstairs by herself without being challanged.

Final morning in CP called for in room massage. An extremely attractive young thing with a killer body showed up. Long story short, she wanted outrageous fees for hj (2000 rmb) I think FS was on the menu, but can't say for sure. The standard massage in CP for one hour of oil is 398 plus 15% service fee. That's way too much to begin with.

I'm a frequent visitor to CM2 in Bangkok (Siam Square, in the basement of the Novotel. For anybody who wants to check it out: It closes relatively early 1 or 2 am, so come early). It is a marvelous place with sisters who are even more marvelous and who have light safran-coloured skin.

Actually, I'm following Sid's advice. You can find me this Thursday evening at the airport with a big smile on my face and a ticket to BKK in my hand. Will spend Christmas on the beach and on some Thais.

However, I think it cannot be compared with Maggie's, because it is a totally different city and a different race. I just love both of them Mongolians and Thai (and of course some other nationalities), because of their own and different ways. No need to compare, just enjoy the best of each.

It sure is cold and polluted. Actually, pollution was worse in summer when we were stuck on the runway for hours at noon: The pollution and hence visibility was so bad that the planes couldn't depart. In summer, it's a hot polluted city. I share your views re HK (where we are a lot.) The fees don't seem to be much different. Congrats on getting a good one for 800 for the night. We could have taken half of Maggie's home for what our bar bill was ....

Just to add in my 5 cents since I been lurking for a while, I went to this place on the south 3rd ring road and into the local Chinese Sauna that one of the guys here recommended some time back. Big setup and it was little bit run-down but here are the details.

Sauna facilities was okay. Not the best but have the standard facilities don't take the shower boys' pjs but opt for the red ones lying at the back of the closet because they are FOC.

They will show you the way in and tell the guys on the stairs you want the specials You will pass a foot massage area. I didn't try them so don't know the damage Then sit down in front of the stage and wait for the show to begin.

They will bring out girls to parade on the stage and you have to be quick to choose the girls. It is a real meat market in that place There were probably about 20 girls but maybe 3 to 4 that were real beauties.

I picked mine and the package was RMB 1580 for 80 mins, 2 cums. Quite expensive but was my 1st time, so decided to try it out.

There was a major crack down on the Massage Parlours in the Wang Jing area. Almost ALL places that offer any kind of special services have been shut down. Seems like our favorite massage places in Wangjing Xincheng(419, 417, 303...) have been systematically closed all of a sudden. I did have a chance to inquire with the guard in Bldg 303 about that place. He did not say why it had closed, but said that it will RE-OPEN in early December. OK, so maybe I exaggerated a bit about being the best bar in the world. I really like Mongolian girls so it rates high on my scale. They are a refreshing alternative to the rest of the Chinese action I am used to. And, IMHO, it is the best place compared with other options in Beijing. I also like the music they play in the place.

On the other hand, there are a couple of drawbacks. The place is too small and very narrow in places making it difficult to move around when it is very busy. The prices offered seem to be going up lately.

I have been to CM2 in Bangkok. Spazzo at the Hyatt in Bangkok also used to be good. I also like Thermae, although I thought the old location with it's entrance through the ladies toilet was better. I still think Maggies is better than these bars.

I have not been to any of the other bars compared with Maggies on this thread. Hopefully, I will get the chance someday.

as intransit indicated, i did recently return from my first visit to the "land of smiles". i plan to post a trip report in the bangkok thread, but have been slow in doing so. intransit's knowledge of the area was invaluable. as soon as i would finish one activity i would get a text message from him with something else to try, so i was able to take full advantage of every spare moment. i will say that while i truly enjoyed the beauties of thailand, i stand firm in my love for the girls from mongolia. i am sure it will be an unpopular opinion, but i will take maggie's over any of the bars in nana plaza or soi cowboy. the bangkok bars are an interesting curiosity - angle witch in nana plaza had fantastic shows, and the shark bar on soi cowboy had some of the most beautiful girls i have ever seen. being able to stop by [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) and get a $20 blowjob any time of the day certainly has its advantages, but in the end it was all just a little too sleazy for me. in addition, the internet is full of stories about thai girls taking westerners for all they are worth, and never looking back. our mongolian sisters are certainly in it for the money, but i do not think they would go to the depths of deception that thai girls are reported to have gone.

there has been a lot of discussion in favor and against maggie's recently. it is well known that i go to maggie's at least once a week (on average). i also hit a sauna once a week, as well as visit other bars, and a few times a month i can be found at a ktv. in the end i am sure that any bar you attend regularly will start to feel like home, and it become easy to see the advantages of that bar, as well as over look the problems. one of the most famous tv shows in the usa was based on the fact that people like to go to a bar "where everybody knows your name." the western regulars at maggie's are treated like royality, so we are going to of course like it. someone of asian descent who stops by a couple times a year will probably have a vastly different opinion. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and the simple fact that someone posts a report rather than simply lurking earns them some respect in my book. at the same time zhuren has contributed more to this forum in the last 6 months than most have contributed in years. let's keep it civil and avoid personal attacks.

Having been told to RTFF (twice) I went back and tried to find some more information on the tipping practices at Maggies. Not having found much, I wanted to check with some of the Maggies experts. As I mentioned in my earlier posting, the Chinese girls are looking to be bought drinks and will want a tip. How much would be normal? I will be back again soon and want to make sure I don't offend anyone. So, if I bought a girl about RMB800 in drinks in an evening how much do you think they expect?Tipping the Chinese girls at Maggie's is mentioned in passing several times on the forum, but it has never really be discussed in detail. First, it should be noted that not every single Chinese girl in the bar works for Maggie’s as a “hostesses”. There are a few freelancers that are allowed in Maggie’s to look for business, often arriving from the Pig or Hard Rock. Negotiations with these freelancers should be the same as with any girl you might expect to go home with you, except if they are at Maggie’s they are probably expecting a premium price.

It is my understanding that Maggie’s Hostesses get a base salary and some percentage of the drinks that are purchased for them. It is their job to get you to spend money by purchasing drinks for them (standard “lady” drink cost is 100 RMB), for yourself (by playing drinking games and toasting you to get you to drink more), and food. To keep their jobs they must receive credit for a certain amount of drinks each month. Any money you give them in tips will go straight into their pocket – they do not have to share the tip with the bar.

Sometimes the girls will meet you outside of work, but this will just be for site-seeing, a meal or maybe shopping. If they are acting as a tour guide for you then you should expect to tip something for their time. A good English speaking tour guide will provide a car and take you to the sites around Beijing for around 800 RMB per day. If you are taking a taxi then you would pay taxi fare, and the tour guide would expect around 400 RMB. Even if you tip her 5,000 RMB I would not expect anything to happen outside of friendship. Jobs at Maggie’s are competitive, and if word gets out that one of the girls is sleeping with a customer then she will be fired.

As far as tipping them to drink with you in the bar, there are several factors to take into account. In my opinion the goal of tipping someone is to reward/encourage good service. To this end I am much more likely to tip (or buy a drink for) the bar tenders and DJs than the hostesses. Of course, my major attraction to Maggie’s are the Mongolian girls, so I am not spending too much time with the hostesses. A question that should be asked is: what is your goal in buying drinks for one of the Chinese bar girls? One answer could be for safety/security against becoming a “bad boy”. For example – you have a buddy in town who wants to check out Maggie’s, but you are fairly certain he will not take a girl. In this case I will select one of the Chinese hostesses to sit with him, pointed out that she will not go home with him at the end of the night. I will buy drinks for the girl as long as my friend wants her sitting with us. If it seems he is not interested in her, or more interested in the Mongolian girls, I will often tip the hostess to basically go away and free him up to "hunt".

Another reason you might want to sit with a Maggie's hostess could be because you just want to carry on a conversation with a pretty girl. These girls do have a way of making you feel like you are the king of the world. They will laugh at your jokes, dance with you, and generally behave as if they were your date at a high school dance – there might be a little touching, but nothing too serious. Generally the Mongolian girls do not speak English as well, so your conversation will be limited. In addition, early in the evening (say from 11pm until 1 am) the Mongolians are hoping to score quickly so they can come back for a 2nd round. Later in the evening (after 2 am) in the evening they have already "worked" and are more picky, and often too drunk to carry on a conversation with you. Maggie’s hostesses on the other hand are not in any hurry, and as long as you keep buying them drinks they will hang on your every word.

How much to tip? A Google search revealed the average salary in Beijing is around 4000 RMB per month (some sources have it lower). Assuming 20 work days a month and that comes to 200 RMB per day. Remember she is already getting a salary and a commission from the drinks you are buying her. To be honest I have not tipped a hostess in a long time, but when I did I would never tip more than 300 RMB.

Using you situation as an example, if you are buying 800 RMB in drinks just for a single girl, and this does not include the price of your drinks, that is probably 8 "lady" drinks. If you are sitting with her for 4 hours that is 2 drinks an hour. At the end of 4 hours you might want to give her 100 – 200 RMB, but only if you have truly enjoyed her company. I really do not like it when they ask me for a tip, and I will typically say “no” if they do. On the other hand, if you have spent 800 RMB on them over the course of 1 or 2 hours (by buying them a bottle of champagne, or several drinks), then I would not give them a tip, and in my opinion they should not expect one.

By the way, when I purchase a hostess a drink I always make sure there is alcohol in it. The reason for this is not because I necessarily want them drunk, but by having to actually drink alcohol they are more apt to pace themselves and not hit you for 10 drinks in 1 hour.

By the way, if you speak any Mandarin at all then you can have an equal amount of fun at one of the many KTV places mentioned on this forum. You will be able to sit and chat with a beautiful Chinese girl who might even go home with you at the end of the night. In addition, they almost expect you to grope all over them, and in many of the naughty KTVs they will take of their cloths and dance for you. Drinks will be much cheaper, and in the end the most you would ever be expected to tip is 300 RMB. The down side is you have to go with a group – you cannot pop into a KTV by yourself and expect to have fun.

You can read my first report on my first time to maggies. Generally I think you need to dress slightly more formal than our western counterparts and just have to convince the doorman that you are an overseas chinese. It helps if you refused to speak mandarin with the doorman and just ramble on in english (well that's what I did). Let me know if this helps, otherwise we can always set something up when you are next in town.

Using you situation as an example, if you are buying 800 RMB in drinks just for a single girl, and this does not include the price of your drinks, that is probably 8 "lady" drinks. If you are sitting with her for 4 hours that is 2 drinks an hour. At the end of 4 hours you might want to give her 100 – 200 RMB, but only if you have truly enjoyed her company. I really do not like it when they ask me for a tip, and I will typically say “no” if they do. On the other hand, if you have spent 800 RMB on them over the course of 1 or 2 hours (by buying them a bottle of champagne, or several drinks), then I would not give them a tip, and in my opinion they should not expect one.

I would like to add a few things:

First, for a non-regular in Beijing 1500 RMB from 8pm to 12am is far from being expensive if she really is a good provider.

Regarding your concerns about safety I am not sure about your experience regarding mongering. The advise regarding your money is almost obsolete. Much more important are the general rules. If you take an unknown provider for long time make sure that your room is almost like unoccupied.

So to speak no passport / name cards / papers with your name lying around. Make sure your laptop is also safe. (If it does not fit in the room safe deposit it at the reception). Actually just make sure that there nothing is in the room you can’t afford to loose and that nothing in the room reveals your true identity. And you might want to consider (regarding the hotel you stay, even if it is five star) that around midnight someone is knocking at your door to tell you that you have an unregistered guest. (Must not happen, but it is possible. Depending on the girls nationality, time you go to your room and so on, just read the hotel thread here)

If you follow this rules the only remaining risk is that the girl (after only being in contact with her via the internet) might turn out to be a cold fish. But on the other hand this risk you take every time you team up with a new provider.

I agree with the consensus here. There is always the risk of theft. For that reason, I nearly never do LT unless I have been with the girl a few times without incident. Even then, there is some risk. I am usually traveling on business so there is no way I can lock up all the shit I have with me in the safe box.

Lock up your cash (and possibly the laptop and other goodies) in the safe. The only thing that might be missing is an expensive bottle of champagne from the minibar, along with some amenities fom the bathroom. Supply your own condoms. No midnight knock at the door to be expected in a 5star. If someone knocks (it won't happen) call the manager and read him or her the riot act. Be as blantant as you can be: "Here I was in the middle of intercourse with an expensive lady I pay by the hour, and one of your moronic staff had the nerve to interrupt me, right before ..." They will blanch, apologize, and if you pull it off really convincingly, upgrade you to a Junior Suite.

Huge mistake!!!

The only good thing was that she actually showed up late (11.30 pm), but then, the dissappointments started.
First, she is not 24, as she advertises, but around 30. However, body is still ok. She is tall, and she actually has quite a nice rack.
Then, negotiations started at Euro 500 for the "full service package", and not with CNY 300/hour. Hapuu.... . I finally managed to bring her down to CNY 1.000, she agreed, but only after I threatened to throw her out. Actually, I should have thrown her out.

Action started, and it was ... lame, really incredibly lame. Her (covered) BJ skills sucked, she herself is cold as a stone, no reactive, and she even does not allow to caress anything near her head. Don't even think about GFE.

I finally had a chance to go to the famed Maggie's last night. I was in town for business, and decided to check out this place once and for all just what the big fuss is all about, since it occupies so much ink on this particular forum.

I am a native Chinese, and of course, I got stopped by the doorman. He greeted me in Chinese, and I just ignored him and walked ahead. When he tried to stop me again, I just asked him WTF in English, and that did the trick. For all of those who got turned away because you looked Chinese, it is the attitude and of course decent English that will get you in.

Once inside, I was surprised to find just how small the place is. Being it was a Monday night, the picking was slim. With a few bar girls that looked awful and a few Mongolian girls that looked more like 5 at best, I didn't stay long. There was a girl from Kazakhstan tried to get me started on price negotiations, but she looked well worn and I didn't bother.

I did see plenty of expat types in the bar all trying to score. But no offense, I don't see what the appeal is for this place. The music is ho hum and the women are worse. I suppose the ease of getting laid is the appeal, then great. Otherwise, I sure don't get why some even went as far as calling this one of the greatest bars in the world.

Didipod - a few points you should consider:

1. Small area - currently under total renovaton - existing area approx 33% of what the size was pre renovation and approx 25% size it will be post renovation.

2. Monday nights - usually one of the quietest nights of the week - many girl take their 'weekends' Sunday, Monday, Tuesday nights.

3. Music - now that is a hard one - how do you choose music that verybody likes. Personally it does not do much for me either but it puts the girls in a good frame of mind - they love that music.

4. Mongolian looks - maybe the Mongolan look is just not for you - I suggest you go back on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night to check it out when all the 'stars' are in there working - of course it will be shoulder to shoulder and you will not move in there then.

Maggies aint for eveybody - indeed the more that stay away the better - more choice for Billy + lower prices for Blly = Billy HAPPY.

I'm currently staying at the Beijing ChunHui Yuan Warm Spring Hotel for a workshop. It is close to the airport.

A great place. Approximately RMB1300 gets you a great room with two floors, bedroom on the second, including a private Japanese-style hot bath. The place is ultra clean and relatively new. They have bar and and restaurants and most of the clientel seems to come form HK or Korea - at least today. It reminds me very much of a typical Japanese Onsen hotel.

I have been a lurker here for a year here. So finally I will start to post. I just finished my project in Beijing last month and went to my next project in Taiwan. I also talked to some of my regular KTV girls and one of them told me about a crackdown at a KTV. This my be constant theme up to the Olympics but I am sure the "well connected will be left alone".

As longtime residents will confirm, these "strike hard" campaigns are an annual phenomenon. They usually happen by the end of the year - as it is a common case in most other civilized nations also. Like the one before the party congress, this one has nothing to do with the Olympics. It may, however, very well be a precursor of things surely to come before the summer games.

I tried to get in but was refused. A manager with an attitude quoted me that is was 10,000 RMB to become a member and entrance was members only. I saw other chinese men arrive in limo's and just walk in without membership. I think they are sensitive to laowai, but am not 100% certain.

If this is the old Passion Bar then i suspect its changed hands yet again. The replacement was some mega-trendy UK style disco, which flopped. Last time I was their it was easy to get in and it was like the old passion's, but only a shadow of its former self. Next door is a KTV. I suspect you may have tried to get into the KTV, in which case RM10000 is possible for an evening out with the lads. I will check it out next time I am up North.

was in beijing yesterday for a whistle stop visit.

the resulting night activities seemed to have everything...

following late afternoon meetings, decided to head to the lido. part of the reason for selecting the pig as first stop was i wanted an early-ish night, and didn't want to wait for the action to heat up at maggies. i haven't been to pig for at least 2 years, and previous visits had uncovered a few beautiful gems among the rougher diamonds usually found there.

my first thought on entering the pig last night was that i had been transported back back in time. it felt like the scene of 8-10 years ago - majority of the ladies there seemed about 30 - 40 years old, chunky bodies, make up applied like first time 14 yo teenagers wearing various styles of soviet era hooker fashion not mention being completely focussed on closing the deal as soon as possible. within the space of 15 minutes i had 4 different ladies approach me with the same 4 questions:

throughout the evening at the pig, there were moments that were hilarious, surreal, and slightly scary. one of the first ladies i encountered was a chinese woman named anita, who had an intriguing cool indifference. unlike alot of the others there last night she had a bit more style to her, and was willing to go beyond the 4 standard questions. admit i was tempted (making sure i secured her number for future consideration), but decided better of it, as was more in the mood for a lovely maiden from the mongol steppes.

i then spied a very cute young lady from mongolia at the bar, but ended up talking with her friend who i couldn't but help think was a ladyboy. i know mongol ladyboy's are not as common as those from thailand/philippines, but this lady just had that look.

after that little episode decided i would call it a night. on the way back to my hotel, realized it was around midnight, so thought i would stop by maggies and see if i can make a quick selection. did a quick walk through, and spotted some great talent. spied a tall, willowy mongol lady names aggi, who i decided would be the object of my desires. bought her a drink and hung out near the pool table area chatting.
while standing there with aggi, arms draped around each other, a number of her friends came up to chat. one of which was absolutely gorgeous, and if i hadn't already selected aggi, would have definitely made a play for. apart from aggi's friend, there seemed to be an explosion of beauty arriving around 12.30 - 1am. time after time, my eyes would be drawn to one after another of mongol beauties.
i was so tempted to simply detach myself from aggi and go after another one of the beauties, who were stunning. keeping in mind though, while aggi would not classify as a stunner, she did have a certain look that appealed to me. however, i decided that i was too much of a gentleman to drop aggi and chase someone else.

now comes the question of etiquette. i am sure other members face this dilemma all the time and be interested to hear how they handle it. do you have no fear in simply walking and being labelled a butterflying bastard, or do you have other strategies for letting the lady off the hook gently.

Like in any business, she needs to qualify the buyer, and separate him from the lookers. If you linger too long, she'll throw flirtatious eyes at would-be customers while you aren't looking. If I have made a decision for the night, but want to stay around for a few more drinks, or because friends need to be entertained, I make a point of saying: "You are mine for the night. Grab a drink, switch your RADAR off, and relax."

Changing your mind after the deal is closed ("1000 for the night, grab your coat") would be considered bad form, and word would get around. Your stay in Beijing will be a boring one should you end up on the blacklist kept by the sweethearts from the steppe.

Likewise, if one just grabs and gropes the Mongolians without ordering take-out, one would quickly be labeled a cheapskate lecher. The Chinese bargirls may be grabbed and groped at will if the tab and their tip are commensurate. Abandon all hopes of take-out with them. I would say there are 2 issues here, first is a question of money, and the 2nd is a question of face. If you have "committed" to Aggi, ie. said something along the lines of "I will take you tonight" then she may have passed up on some other business oportunity while standing with you. You owe her something for her time.

The harder issue is the one of face. If you pick another girl immedeatly after walking away from Aggi then she is going to loose face. The result can be anything from her not really giving a damn, to a fist fight between her and the other girl. The best thing to do, in my opinion, would be to tell Aggi that you probably should not take a girl for the night because of an early morning, ect., but you want to give her a tip. I would give her around 300 RMB, but I am a softy. Next, go stand in a different location - do not continue to talk/flirt with her. Wait some time before aproaching any other girls - maybe chat/drink with a Chinese hostess for a while. If you see Aggi with another guy you are free to do as you please. Otherwise, wait 15 minutes and then aproach the girl you like, or ask the hostess to introuduce you to her. If she is Aggi's friend and hanging out with her, then I would advise against aproaching her at all. Of course, during this time you are risking the girl you like will be choses by someone else.

The key is not to commit to anyone until you are ready to go. I think you made the right choice by far, and Bad Boy's advice was spot on. In all of my regular mongering locales these days - Hong Kong, Beijing, and Cebu - I have developed friendships with providers. These are basically girls that I had fun talking with in a bar, chose them (and at Maggies, in particular, it is as much the girls' choice as yours), and they turned out to be wonderful providers. My strategy is different. I am constantly on the prowl until I find the one I want to do. I never spend more that a few minutes chatting with any one girl in Maggies. When my decision is made, I confirm the price (to avoid misunderstandings later), grab the girl and head for the door. I never hang around the place after I have made my choice.

That said, I remember one time that I had made a deal with one girl and was on my way to say goodbye to some friends. I think BBB was there and had even done this girl the night before and another ISG monger did her in the afternoon; all by coincidence. On my way back to the girl, I spotted another girl that I had been trying to hook-up with for 3 days. Being my last night in town, I could not resist, grabbed the other girl and headed for the door. The first girl saw us and chased me halfway down the alleyway outside screaming. Talk about long memories, I saw the first girl again nearly a year later and she shot me a look that could kill.

i work myself in the service industry with a lot of personal selling to other companies and many of our deals, sometimes worth hundreds of thousands of us$ are often just verbal agreements. it would be unthinakble of one party changing the mind after making a commitment. i think it is just not fair trade behavior. withdrawing from a commitment is just as bad as a mongolian sister not performing well, once back at home/the hotel.

i then spied a very cute young lady from mongolia at the bar, but ended up talking with her friend who i couldn't but help think was a ladyboy. i know mongol ladyboy's are not as common as those from thailand/philippines, but this lady just had that look.

next up was a cute young lady who had short punk styled spikey hair. at first look she seemed she could be a bit of fun and admit i can be a sucker for ladies with short hair. she no sooner joined me at my table, before she leaned across and attached herself to my face. she then kept on grabbing my chin and telling me that she can tell i would give her a good fuck, simply by the size and shape of my chin. also uncovered a weird cover story from that she was half japanese/chinese who lives in singapore. she was in beijing to meet a male friend who had invited her to china, but he had broken his leg and couldn't out. therefore she was very sad, and decided i was the guy who could in her words "give me back my happy feeling". that did start setting off my built in bunny boiler radar. the alarm bells started ring even louder, when i went outside to make a call to some buddies and she followed me to the entrance and started doing pole dancing routines. this quickly turned to anger and spite when i spent too long on the phone for her liking. she demanded to know if i was going take her or not, when i said no, she told me to leave and never come back.

after that little episode decided i would call it a night. on the way back to my hotel, realized it was around midnight, so thought i would stop by maggies and see if i can make a quick selection. did a quick walk through, and spotted some great talent. spied a tall, willowy mongol lady names aggi, who i decided would be the object of my desires. bought her a drink and hung out near the pool table area chatting.
while standing there with aggi, arms draped around each other, a number of her friends came up to chat. one of which was absolutely gorgeous, and if i hadn't already selected aggi, would have definitely made a play for. apart from aggi's friend, there seemed to be an explosion of beauty arriving around 12.30 - 1am. time after time, my eyes would be drawn to one after another of mongol beauties.
i was so tempted to simply detach myself from aggi and go after another one of the beauties, who were stunning. keeping in mind though, while aggi would not classify as a stunner, she did have a certain look that appealed to me. however, i decided that i was too much of a gentleman to drop aggi and chase someone else.

now comes the question of etiquette. i am sure other members face this dilemma all the time and be interested to hear how they handle it. do you have no fear in simply walking and being labelled a butterflying bastard, or do you have other strategies for letting the lady off the hook gently.

anyway, as i said, i decided to stick with aggi, and am very glad i did. she was an absolute gem. we got back to the hotel, spent a good hour simply chatting, kissing, caressing each other while watching a movie, before the activities became hotter and heavier. building to a long sensual session of much mutual pleasure, falling blissfully to sleep, then being woken this morning by a heart warming bbj and languid sunday morning sex.

My strategy is different. I am constantly on the prowl until I find the one I want to do. I never spend more that a few minutes chatting with any one girl in Maggies. When my decision is made, I confirm the price (to avoid misunderstandings later), grab the girl and head for the door. I never hang around the place after I have made my choice.

That said, I remember one time that I had made a deal with one girl and was on my way to say goodbye to some friends. I think BBB was there and had even done this girl the night before and another ISG monger did her in the afternoon; all by coincidence. On my way back to the girl, I spotted another girl that I had been trying to hook-up with for 3 days. Being my last night in town, I could not resist, grabbed the other girl and headed for the door. The first girl saw us and chased me halfway down the alleyway outside screaming. Talk about long memories, I saw the first girl again nearly a year later and she shot me a look that could kill.

At the end of the day, it is all about money for time. I believe that you should not waste the girl's time if you do not intend to take her out or give her some money as SammyT suggests. IMHO, they couldn't give a shit if you buy them a drink and chat with them. First and foremost, they are there to make cash.

Firstly - YES - it was Newbeijingguy who did this girl first - but that was the night before I arrived in Beijing.

When I arrived - I called this same girl and told her to get to my hotel for a 'matinee' session ASAP.

During the conversation I asked her who she had 'f u c k e d' the night before - she described him in intimate detail.

That night at The Pig I met NBG for the first time - and asked him who he was with the night before - he described her - YES correct - the same girl I had that very afternoon - COINCIDENCE huh.

Then after we all headed to Maggies later - we spotted you heading out the door with this SAME girl - high fives all round - 3 WSG's brothers all f u c k i n g the same girl 3 days in succession - HILARIOUS.

But then you let the team down - you spotted another - ditched our new 'famous' friend and headed off.

No wonder she gave you that killer look.

Now for the really SCARY part - that same girl - that NBG and Billy f u c k ed on successive days - the one you were also going to bowl over - was none other than........................wait for it.........................none other than........................Aagi ................Aagi...................the same girl in Shanghaisnap's thread.

Now aint that a coincidence?
