Spot on. Sex tourists were, and still are today, a mere fraction of the scene in Indonesia. Indonesia has always been off the radar compared to Thailand and other majors. What was significant in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and some others is that the forienger-centric venues were decimated by government clean-up campaigns and NGO-fueled shut downs. Now it is all a shadow, so it is what it is.
What makes Indonesia mongering unique in Asia is the acceptance of foriengers in venues that were built for locals and generally dominated by locals. Blok M venues collapsed with Covid and the die-off of Oil & Gas geezers. Venues that are long gone (Stadium, Today Country (aka Tiara Ceria), Royal as well as the remainder (Travel, Classic, Kota Indah bars, etc) have always entertained the long noses with amazing open arms and equality. Mami will point that green laser for the local as much as they do for the foreigner, as long as they are paying and not playing. And never ever have I experienced any issue with locals in these venues. Now imagine mapping the Thailand situation where you have tour buses of zero-dollar Chinese together with more busloads of thirsty AF Indians filling the parking lot of Travel. My number one motto is to Enjoy It While It Lasts. Suggest the same to others. Enjoy Jakarta, AR.A very balanced sum up! The old days of Tiaria Ceria were unique and never come back. The big brothel towns closed down all over the country. But the remaining events are still excellent for the few bule to come and enjoy as long as they blend in.
"I wonder why that is?" My take. Having lurked on local Indonesian boards like Kaskus when researching venues like Royal (aka Train Tracks), my observation for the reason locals don't speak up (or blab, humblebrag, etc) is targeted social pressure from the moderators. Whilst everybody has a good sense that every last provider is going to provide BBFS in Royal, there were always lots of tut-tutting in big bold letters from moderators and veterans to "play it safe". So there was rarely a field report that openly gave away the full situation. We all know the gap between what the locals are saying and what they are actually doing, and indeed it takes a lot to get them to admit all of the non-conforming activities that they are really doing. Lastly, I observed that many of the brothers would actually meet each other IRL and monger together, especially newbies who wanted a little hand holding, so more social pressure to appear like one is conforming to the expected norms. What happened in the privacy of the fuck boxes was possibly a different matter entirely. This is just my observation and opinion.
I agree that there is much to be learned from Asians and how they comport themselves in illicit matters. This was most evident to me when I partied with a group of Japanese colleagues. We had a night of complete debauchery and then when meetings started the following morning it was like nothing happened. Asians culturally know how to keep things on separate ledgers. I did not come to Jakarta to monger but did end up here for a big chunk of time for other reasons. I have also spent time in Bangkok. I admit I have never been to the Philippines or Colombia. That said Jakarta is a great place to live and a shitty place to visit. If you want to make friends, get into the fascinating rich culture long term and even start a family this is a great place with truly lovely caring people. But as a tourist destination it's pretty awful. Ironically I think Jakarta would have to offer more than just mongering for it to be a mongering destination with plane tickets between 1800 - 3500 usd depending on which western country you are coming from. Thailand has semi officially built a big component of it economy around being a mongering destination, the Philippines used to be home to the America's largest naval base. Jakarta will forever be the stinky polluted fucked up layover city to Bali. Bali is where the the serious pros go who think of it as serious business. I can vouch for prices there and service expectation being way out of alignment compared to Jakarta. Also, its not that difficult to get BB in Bangkok. Although I think there are some readers on this forum from Asian countries I think most of them get their info from about Jakarta from other places. A lot of them are on a whole different system. Many Asian mongers are in Jakarta for "golf" and have a whole mongering MO centered around that which never comes up on this particular forum. There are tons of golf clubs around Jakarta just for them with sexy female caddies in tight pants. They often go to the same clubs we do afterwards. If anyone is going ruin mongering in Jakarta its going to be them as enough of them have a shit ton of money to blow with very low expectations for service. RE: my one recent visit to Malio club. I've seen them in Bangkok and read about them in the Philippines too.
As far as BBF, I will admit, with the exception of seeking girls, I only learned that the "forbidden" sex was an option in Jakarta from reading this forum. Although BB is occasionally openly discussed on forums for cities back in my home country it never occurred to me that it was an option I could try or be comfortable with until I starting reading about it here. I am very surprised you found emporium as average and 1001 just good enough. For me both these places are kick ass in terms of quality, one can complain about the service not the quality on display. You'll have a hard time in Jakarta going forward and going by your report you seem to be very choosy. I think (just my feel don't be upset) Jakarta is not for you unless you lower your standards, try Middle East or west central Asia or Russia. Better face features better body structure and quality, though service may vary. Jakarta seems to be working for those who prefer good service and also for those who are price sensitive for example classic. If your sole aim is quality then my best wishes to you.

1001 - ten on ten.
Emporium. Eight or nine on ten.
Classic. Five or six on ten with the occasional gems who are seven to eight on ten.

Checked out 3 places, emporium, classic and 1001 pool.
Classic: Was really disappointed in this one because of how hyped it is. I spent all night in T2 checking the place out and did not find any ladies pretty enough to room with. I am by far a quality over quantity guy and because how cheap Jakarta is for this hobby, even the quality options would be considered the budget options in other countries. It was also way too smoky and the mamasans are way too aggressive, giving you little freedom of movement and choice until you put your foot down.
Emporium: Half the price of 1001 pool as you get both the pool experience and bedroom experience for a single price. However the choices of ladies left much to be desired. I came in with only a dozen ladies available for selection and none of them were worth taking. I left disappointed.

It would be exceedingly rare and difficult, but not impossible to arrange visits to your hotel from a lady in Classic, Travel, KI, etc.
Those ladies are mostly all on contract and paying off debt for their brother's new ojek, their father's gambling debt, or furnishings for the house for the mother. Or the house itself back in the kampung. They live in a mes or dormitory with several other ladies. They are not slaves, but they are watched by a handler for their agent that loaned her family money, while they pay off their debt. They can't easily break away from the mes to spend an hour with you. They can leave to go get food, go shopping, etc. But not freelance.
A key question to ask the lady if this is something you want to arrange is if she stays in a mes or kos (apartment.) If she stays at the mes. You can mostly forget it. She would have to really know you and trust you and you would have to make it worth her while. But she is absolutely not going to come see you for the same price you get at Classic or even double that. Her coming to see you is always significantly more expensive than on site. Freelance booking out or voucher booking out from the venue is always just more expensive. If she has her own apartment, she is probably not on contract and can do whatever she wants. But you still wont get her to come for the standard on site price or a little more. I guess you could also ask her if she is on contract or not as that is mostly the determining factor. But you would probably do better to just pay the booking out price at that point, however many vouchers it is for the particular establishment.
I have only successfully arranged this once. But haven't put significant effort into it either. Pre Covid I had a regular lady from a Kelapa Gading establishment that would come visit me very early Saturday mornings when she told her handler she was going shopping. I paid her 2 million to come visit me. (Probably too much, but booking out in general is quite a bit more expensive than on site.) I almost always got two pops out of it though.
Another lady I knew from Travel had recently stopped working and still lived in Jakarta. I offered her 500 K to come see me and she asked for 1. 5 million. She was like. I have personally never mongered in a place with more than 5 "good picks" at any given time as I generally am choosy, however its a fun challenge and part of the hunt for me.
My idea is that for me to pay, she has to be worth it. Someone not easily encountered and really a standout from the average girl. So I only aim for 8, 9's. I don't even look at 6's and below while 7's would depend on how desperate I am. The omnibus "Jakarta" thread means that every topic under the sun, accompanied by everybody's hot take, ends up in one long thread where actual informative posts are quickly buried under other topics, hot takes, quibbling, questions, etc. Then add on non-mongering posts (which may indeed be useful to some) about VOA vs eVOA, kampung dining guides, city transit system, airport taxis, cheap bike taxis, girl friendly hotel checks, etc. Pile on top occasional trolling (eg Grab Feel), shitposting, newbie questions, person-to-person messaging chats, topped with nearly every reply to a long post being a full quote rather than edited. If you are seeking targeted Sex Guide information (eg want to know everything about awesome Classic), one ends up going though a lot of chaff to get to a tiny bit of mongering wheat, but this is the inevitable outcome of an cluttered omnibus thread. This is true for most of the working ladies across most parts of the world. From my understanding risk is even higher here as they are on contract and can lose their withheld salary / or face violence if caught doing anything against the arrangement they have with establishment.
Officially, an overnighter from emporium will cost you 6-7 juta, confirmed. Asking 5 mn is absurd and also not, I'll tell you why. The risks are very high because if she is caught she has to pay a penalty fine like 1.5-2 juta or more for providing outcall services plus her roster will change and become more aggressive. Yes I too had a horror experience in Jakarta and other parts in Bali. Basically number 1 rule. No deposit. Don't got to mini mart in ATMs doing money transfers or going to ATMs to do transfer deposits as tempting to secure your booking.
If this indeed is a legitimate lady or scammer you loose all control, your basically are controlled by 'them' and obviously on the way to loose your deposit money. Do a search of numbers to see if any clues come up different photos or impossible that they would be in two places at same time eg Jakarta / Bali
In my case I went to their hotel I did not pay a deposit waited outside sent photos of the hotel and cash in my hand and 'they' told me no deal as I wouldn't deposit 500 k to secure my place with this hot girl!!! It's possible to keep re-inserting your card in the ATM and making multiple withdrawals. I withdrew 10 juta from a BCA ATM last week.

BCA is access free that is true, but the maximum withdrawal is 1'200'000 rupiah. Tried and tested yesterday at the BCA ATM inside the indomaret next to classic with capital one debit Mastercard. BNI bank is actually better with a limit of 1'250'000 per transaction and also access free.

Gabacho.I'm wondering if this is why all the confusion over ATM limits. The 2. 5/1. 25 million limits are ubiquitous across the country. There are literally thousands of machines everywhere that dispense these amounts. Sure there are some ATMs that have higher or lower limits but these need to be searched out. They aren't the standard. Most of the machines have the max withdrawal as an 'other amount' so another screen does need to be selected. Perhaps this is why you thought so many ATMs had lower limits.

Hello Everyone.
Finally posting again after a long trip report hiatus.
I finally made the leap to Asia thanks to my good friend Gabacho.
For those that don't know, Gabacho is the one who guided me through Medellin back in 2021.
We have been in touch ever since and I can call him a true friend.
Asia was always on my radar but due to the long flight from LA it was always an excuse not to go.
So after texting daily with Gabacho since 2021 I finally took the opportunity to go to Jakarta.
To my luck, Gabacho was in Jakarta at the same time that I was available to go so it was a win win.
I stayed in the same hotel and we even got rooms across from one another LOL.
From the moment I landed, Gabacho guided me throughout the way.
We went to Classic T2 around 2 pm after I landed at around 11 am.
Due to the jet lag, I was unable to session that same day.
The next day we went to T5 and Gabacho went with a girl within 5 minutes of arriving LOL.
I decided to pop my classic cherry and went with a girl that caught my eye.
The girl was very friendly and welcoming. Raw oral and asked if I wanted a rubber.
Throughout my two plus weeks in Jakarta I created an alternating routine.

I couldn't believe the price of FoGo Brazilian barbecue.
200 k rupiah or about $12.5 USD for all you can eat 90 minutes.
In the USA it's $71 USD so this is a big steal.
In all, I had a great time in Jakarta and would gladly recommend.
MAJOR SAFETY WARNING.
Be wary of your surroundings. I admit I got too comfortable and was almost robbed.
After leaving classic one night, I decided to send video messages to Gabacho.
I was using my iPhone 14 out in the street and made myself a target.
One night at 1 am as I was using my phone a moto approached.
Before I could process what happened, two guys in a moto appeared.
One guy grabbed my phone as the other attempted to speed off.
I was able to wrestle the phone away from them as it launched 20 feet in the air.
The moto sped off and high on adrenaline I yelled at the would be robbers.
This caused the locals around me to look concerned.
For those that don't know, I was robbed of my iPhone in Medellin in 2022.
I also got too comfortable so I obviously have a lot to learn.

Thanks for your report and glad you had a nice time. I agree with you about Classic 5. Still enough of a choice of ladies there, but a little less crowded and laid back than Classic 2 and a nice couch setup.
Re: iPhone robbery attempt. While Jakarta is mostly safe, this example is one of the most common crimes of opportunity I see. I have been warned / reminded by numerous good samaritans, blue parking shirt guys and people walking by about this. Guys on Ojeks don't just target foreigners. It is anybody they can snatch a free phone from. I've witnessed several failed and successful attempts over the years as well.
If you have your phone on the street, definitely be sure to turn around and face the opposite direction from the street or be sure to take a few steps back from the street where you and your phone is out of reach.

I too noticed that food outlets in Jakarta were reasonably priced, for example Steak (Joni Steak at Pasar Baru) and Japanese (I don't recall the name) places. In Bali, I enjoyed a buffet at an Aussie-Brazilian All you can eat BBQ place.
Finally, the phone snatching attempt was a scary part in your report. Well such things can happen anywhere in the world. I generally found Thailand and Indonesia relatively safe. At times, I think about getting a phone cover with a strap attached to it so that it will remain around the neck while you walk around. However, how much safe that would be, if professional phone snatchers are targeting phones of tourists like us?

Years ago, Indo ATMs would also eat you card after getting your PIN wrong just one time. A real risk of you were juggling several cards from home and abroad.
That's the worse thing to happen to a tourist (who is also into Mongering). Imagine it is happening on the initial days of your trip and your bank that issued the pertinent card do not have any local presence to support you. Very scary and discouraging effects on the fun dreamt trip.
Many guys have also lost or walked away from their cards because ATMs dispense the cash then the card. Some banks dispense the card first and then cash, and others dispense the cash followed by card. But forgetting to wait for the card is bit too hasty from their part. Always take your time to ensure the card is taken and the cash is withdrawn too.

How the hell did he find out about what happened in the room!!Same thing happened to Gabacho and I two weeks ago. We walked in and were enjoying the view. Hi Gabacho, I really appreciate your reports and I'm looking forward to see you next month in Jakarta. But I think it's a bad idea to post pictures of girls from classic mentioning specific services you got from them. It is very likely that some idiot will take these screenshots to a mammy, ask for this girl and later complain if he didn't get the same service. For what it's worth in my one trip (albeit 2 months long) that I had to Thailand last year, I found that BBFS was readily available through the Thai Friendly app particularly in Pattaya. Virtually every girl I pulled from TF did it. I've never tried taking any photos of Classic girls (only one girl there was beautiful enough for me to have wanted a video, but at the time I did not consider it), but by all means there are countless others here who have, and no problems reported until now. Finally posting again after a long trip report hiatus.

The rise and fall of another souffle.Actually I'm currently on my first South East Asia trip right now bro. I spent August and September in Pattaya Thailand and I'm in Philippines now and will be heading to Jakarta, Indonesia next. In my experience you can get good working girls for short time in your room / airbnb for about $50-60 usd and by short time that can be anything from 1 to 3 hours. What is the up-to-date information about potential Hostess Bars / Girly Bars in Jakarta? I'm thinking of establishments similar to those in Saigon or Phnom Penh, where ladies work. There for entertainment of the clients, having drinks and playing pool. Years ago, the Blok M area, particularly Jalan Falatehan 1, was known for this type of entertainment. After Top Gun and other bars closed years ago, some bars remain: Moonrider, An's place, my bar. The reviews are mixed about them: either a few average women with limited English skills, or one google review about overpriced bills. Others got lucky there and found a good freelancer for one-night stay.
To summarize, do you have any suggestions for hostess-like bars? If not, what are the alternatives. For a casual night out involving chats, drinks, and pool? At the moment I'm thinking the michat scam system goes something like this:
1) scam-admin sends out offers on michat and does all the initial talking.
2) at some point, after the girl is booked and supposed to be on her way, scam-admin contacts one of the random women he uses, and tells her to go to the hotel you're staying at.
3) at some point, possibly when the woman has reached the hotel, scam-admin logs out from this particular michat account and tells woman to login instead.
4) woman takes over the michat account and tells you she's there, possibly sends some photo from the hotel entrance, etc., but is probably not interested (or able to, I don't know if michat chat logs are saved on the phone or on the michat server) in looking at the previous chat messages. When asked to send her photo it all comes as a mighty shock to her. Eventually she leaves without meeting you, or if you're a newbie, creates a drama in your room if you don't want to bang the 20 kg heavier and 15 years older woman now in your room. Not sure how service would be either.
5) sometimes scam-admin takes control over the michat account again after she / I have left, and either curses me, or in one instance, offered to send the "real" girl. I'm not sure what would have happened in the latter case, but I thought it more prudent to not find out, though possibly I missed out on the chance of a threesome with Miss. Indonesia 2024 and the runner-up.
