I am planning a trip to Bintan Islands, but cannot find any info on that island.
Anyone with any helpful tips?
From three years ago....
There was at least one small grouping of houses within the city proper, each containing 10 to 20 women. A taxi driver took me to one location about 7 minutes from the pier. Cost was low, between R180,000 and R250,000 for all night, with a 7 at my hotel. There has to be lots of other venues, but they are not obvious to a newcomer. I'd ask a taxi driver.

I live in Balikpapan. The main places are the Pinisi disko in Hotel Bahtera smack in the city centre, and the Borneo Pub in Hotel Dusit. Pinisi girls are the cheaper ones; they are often loaded on Xtcy and not my type, thus cannot give any further info. I like the Borneo Pub and the girls there more. Girls are well-behaved. They range from 18 to 40+, from (super) professionals to naive newcomers and free-lancers that need to somehow get their childrens' school fees. Mind that, as anywhere in Indonesia/SE Asia, quite a lot of girls are not females!
Prices: anything between Rp 200,000-500,000 (about US$22-55) for a night; prices go a bit down towards closing time. Two girls for Rp 400,000/night is possible. ST & street girls are much cheaper, but the latter don't speak english.
If you're interested, I have collected handphone numbers (Desi 23yr, Dewi 23yr, Lala 26yr, Ita 22yr, Melisa 17yr, Anis 33yr, Fera 18yr, Yati 36 yr, Tanti22 yr, Wati).
Other places: Luwai Bar in Hotel Benakutai (OK, but less choice, and the bar is dull); the bar in Hotel Bahana Surya (a.k.a. Blue Sky) even less choice and boring; the bar in Hotel Gran Senyiur (veeery quiet and expensive); Martha's and Joyce Places (next to each other, more for the late afternoon/early evening). And of course along the roads ...

Finally found the Jln Nusantara strip in Makassar. Forget about the girls that sit by the drink stands. As soon as I sat down at one of them, all the girls wanted was for me to buy them sodas. The Sheraton is GF for over nighters but having scantily clad girls with you around the pool wont go down too well with the family type residents
Go for one of the rooms in the block to the left of the security check point (near the gym) then you can walk in and out past security and not even go through the lobby

Was in Senggigi and beside Friday & Saturday nights @ Marina Cafe no visible options. Whole Place is very much downbeat and I would not recommend this place if you just want party + fun as it turns more in a family holiday area

There's not much here on ISG to report on Yogyakarta, sorry. The most useful post here is Post #160 by Gamma Ray 007, posted 4/20/2007, which includes a useful photo of the Corona brothel (best place in town in my limited experience) and the Gang 3 alley. I had a quick two-girl session at the Gang 3 alley, definitely a "low end of the mongering spectrum" destination.
Also, read Post #216 by Brenno, posted March 2, 2008, Post #221 by Lachrymologist and the several subsequent posts about the "salon" scene by Syphon, Post #233 by Kittycat (May 7, 2008 #233) and more recent posts by Kt Lover & Trafford. I don't know anything about the salon scene or the university girls, but there are several large universities in Yogyakarta, so you should have some good luck here.
I was in Yogyakarta twice in 2008 and stayed at the Grand Mercure hotel both times. Definitely girl-friendly, as was the Melia Purosani where I stayed just before the earthquake a couple of years ago.
Note: I tried out the in-house massage place next to the pool at the Grand Mercure, it was strictly a professional massage-only set-up, no extras even hinted at, with a mid-40ish masseuse. Maybe extras are available if the masseuse comes to your room, don't know.

Most of the taxi drivers or 'beca' men would be able to take you to the university girls. They would take you right to their hostels (kos).

I was in Ambon on business recently. Before I went, I did a search of the forum, but couldn't find anything, so here's a bit of info for anyone heading that way.
There's a middle sized red light district on the edge of town at a place called 'Tanjung Batu Merah'. I've never been to Dolly, but I imagine this is pretty similar - maybe the girls even come straight from there, most of them were from East Java, with a sprinkling of Bugis and Ambonese in the crowd. There aren't any regular taxis in town, but there are ojeg bikes that will run you out there for Rp 10 - 15,000.
It's quite a fun place, lotta cheap little bars and karaoke joints, a big roulette type game in the street. It felt totally safe to me, and not even any minor hassles, not even many touts or 'hello misters'.
The quality of the girls is mixed - about 70% are in the 'no way' category; another 20% would be ok after a few drinks, and the last 10% are quite ok. And there are a few standouts at every bar.
Walked into one place and joined a table of girls screeching and shrieking and playing cards. Absolutely the cutest girl of the evening was 22 year old 'arek Malang' who gave herself the somewhat unlikely name of 'Diana'. I bought her a bir hitam and a cold Bintang for myself, and we went upstairs to the karaoke lounge, where she belted out some tunes - you know, the type you here on long distance buses and on PELNI boats. But she had a nice voice, and she was fun to chat with.
Down to business. A local friend told me that prices ranged from Rp50,000 - 150,000 for ST. I asked Dianan what she wanted, and she said Rp150k, so I agreed without trying to negotiate.
Her room was basic but OK - a fan, a water cooler, a TV and DVD, mattress on the floor, lurid posters on the wall. OK, not like the Shang, but colourful and friendly. Kinda like Diana, actually. She was into kissing and licking, and did an ok BBJ to get things going. She preferred to use a condom, which I was happy with. No rush, and she would have let me have two pops if I wanted, but I was happy enough after one, so I just told her to bring in another couple of beers and I hung out with her for another 20 minutes or so. I gave her Rp 200K, just for her attitude and demeanor, and in recognition of the nice firm tits which survived the removal of her bra admirably.
So, a good fun place, if you pick through and look for something worthwhile.
There are also Karaoke ++ places in town, which I didn't visit. Maybe they would be more suitable if you found Batu Merah a bit down market, although I can't say.
Don't expect anyone to speak more than a few words of English. I asked Diana if she'd ever had foreign customers before, and she said, Only Korean sailors.
The town itself is comfortable enough, although the best hotels are two to three star - but well run, with efficient and friendly staff. Alcohol is freely available, with all the Christians in town. Food is good basic Indonesian food. The fish is particularly good.
All in all, enough in town to keep you entertained for about a week ...

hmm. rather quiet here. almost dead this thread. hope to add some spice.
went to tanjong batu, kundur and tanjong balai, karumun on a 5d4n trip.
took the 3rd ferry fm spore harbour ft and reached balai late afternoon. after having our passports endorsed, went to the nearest next door ferry operator and bought 4. 30pm ticket at rp55k each to tanjong batu. went to the domestic jetty and went on board the ferry. though already 4. 30pm, the ferry would only depart when the ferry fm batam arrived because there were pax going to batu too.
took 70mins to reach tg batu. once out of the jetty met my old time friend, ex manager of wisata and pelangi hotel, jun, at the jetty. told us business been bad since the last time ferry fm spore to tg batu was called off. only handful tourist even on weekends. most hotel rooms 1/10 or 1/15 occupied. even the great new city hotel was literally reduced to rubbles! jun, who was also retrenched, decided to drive to earn a living. took 3 of us to wisma hocky which was quite new. but we still prefer hotel gembira because is facing the sea.
checked in, bargain with the rates and quote us rp120k. out of hundred over rooms, tat nite only 17 rooms occupied. lights permanently off on 3rd, 4th and 5th level. real eerie as one walked along the isle. ours was on the 2nd level.
as it was already nite, jun took us to batu 7. only two houses available with handful gils. but all can't make it. so, jun took us to batu 1. both my friends took the free lances at rp300k each. reasonable priced. unlike tg balai on a saturday, okt can quote us rp500k and above! i took a free lance gil (name yanti) whom i got acquainted with in the ferry. we went for dinner (without the gils) at hocky restaurant. cheap. cost at $300k for 4 pax, including crabs and prawns. after dinner, went back to hotel while jun went fetch the gils. approx 10pm i called yanti and booked her for st/massages. good in hard massages, bbbj and fj. paid her rp150k. all in all it was a 2. 5hr service. worth the money.
next morning had complimentary breakfast. decided not to book any gils tat day. purely do some simple shopping for belts, wallets, sunglasses etc. tg batu had not changed much since the last time i monger i. e. yr 2004. went to my favourite hotel pelangi. same, pathetic state, only 8 occupants last nite according to the receptionist. used to have my lunch at this local rest name "abang adik". nasi padang was nice. but understand the stall had moved to another site which was distance away from nearby jetty. jun recommended another stall name "suka maju". i strongly recommended tis one. real yummy/delicious on the nasi padang. crispy fresh chicken fm kampong and much better than "abang adek" interms of food quality. bill was rp137k for 4. acceptable.
went to look for some massages but found out teres only two nearby hocky rest. we took one tat cost rp60k each. juz massages. at italia mp. no hanky panky/st because we intend to $ave for our balai trip. if requested the gil to go hotel, add another rp20k.
later had dinner near the jetty which is a new open concept eating place. after dinner, went to hocky restaurant, had some drinks, watched manu vs chelsea on the big screen till early wee hrs.
next morning, had our breakfast. time to check out as we intended to stay balai for 2 nites. but we realized we missed the 7. 30am 1st ferry. but jun was honest. explained to us teres another way to go balai by taking a speed boat or domestic ferry at prayun selat beliah, which was a 50km and 1hr drive fm hotel gembira. if by local bus or oplet, it would cost us rp17k, and rp15k ferry ticket to tg balai. if chartered a taxi it would cost us one time charge rp200k. we took the latter as it was quite squeezy in the oplet.
took us at 1hr to reach prayun. waited for the ferry. seems tat every half hour there would be a ferry plying fm prayun (batu) to balai and it only took 20 mins to reach balai compared to 70 mins by normal ferry.
as the ferry started to depart for tbk, looking back at the prayun village, tg batu, i told myself, pretty soon, i will be backed!

Can anybody help, I'm traveling to Pekanbaru this 29th, been trying to find out some interesting places but not much info.Try MP located in "Mall Pekanbaru". Entrance in the mall itself or in the basement. Take elevator to 4th or 5th floor (forgot) but just follow the crowd. One stop shop, has Karaoke facilities and big Disco with live music and trance/house DJ. Pole dancers once in a while, very funny especially if you have seen similar "shows" in Bangkok. Some pro's and freelancers available, mediocre quality though. If you're lodged in Jatra Hotel (part of the same mall) there is a special entrance next to the swimming pool 5th floor. Also for returning into the hotel, access with your hotel room key-card.comes handy if you want to take a girl, you avoid the walk of shame along the reception. But no problem, hotel is girl friendly.
On the other side of this mall is a club / disco, aptly named Ozon. Entrance is difficult to find, a separate elevator, but follow the crowd ar ask advise outside, go to 7th floor. A bit sleezy with extremely loud, thumping music making any form of verbal communication impossible. If you are a bule ("white person") a Mamasan will approach you, girls are paraded as necessary. Some good looking but majority so so. After midnight you will find freelancers outside MP and Ozon sitting on motorbikes, usually with a brother or pimp. Never tried those.
Jatra Hotel has a bar/disco called Harry's Cafe. Is reportedly lively on Wednesday nights. Otherwise PKU is rather dull, other hotels may have bars or something but I never checked those. Hop to Jakarta if you have to stay in PKU during a weekend without duties. Air Asia offers cheap flights, 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Jalan Nusantara: About 100 meters (walking distance) north from the Hotel Pantai Gapura and the Colors nightclub is the red-light district on Jalan Nusantara, mainly low-end karaoke bars with 4 massage/brothels side-by-side in the middle. As Menteng had mentioned, the most well-known one is the Madonna, with the Klasik, Q&Q and the Raja all next to it.
Dropped in at Madonna the other night. Prices are now Rp200,000 for the room and girl. Beers are Rp20,000.

I was talking to some contractors from Tawau recently and they told me something very interesting especially for those who like Indonesian girls.
It has been a norm for these contractors to entertain their main contractors or government officers by taking them to Sebatik island which is just opposite Tawau. As most of you know, Sebatik is half Malaysian and half Indonesian. It takes 25 minutes on a boat ride from Tawau to reach Sebatik.
Sebatik is practically full of oil palm plantations and in earlier days cocoa. Just across the border into Indonesia, it lies the heaven for men. There are many hotels there which are house to many young Indonesian girls. These girls could go as young as 18 and are brought here from Sulawesi and Java.
According my contractor friends, these girls a very popular among Malaysians because of their youth and service. The price too is cheaper there compared to in Tawau or other parts of Sabah. The reason being these girls do not need to pay for passports or travel documents.
I have not personally tried or been there as I have not found a good reason to be there, one that I could explain to my HM!
If anyone of you have tried or have been there maybe you would be able to testify to what I have said.

I got hold of a becak guy who took me to this place 'Corona'. There are some reports on this place in this forum and its a typical chicken house with some girls sitting behind a glass. You make your choice, negotiate with the pimp who speaks minimal English.
Important to make it clear what does ST or LT mean, at what time you are expected the let the girl go, and what services are provided. As long as both of you are clear on this there wont be any confusion later on.
I took one for around 4 hrs, paid 600K and deal was for 2 shots, no anal or kissing. The pimp was not willing to bring down the price, gave reasons as new, young girl and all. I gave up negotiating after some time as thought foreigners price is always more and it was getting late.

Went via train from Jakarta to the area for a mixed business /pleasure trip. My first trip.
Had reservation at a suppose-to-be near by good hotel call putri Indah or something like that the tricycle guy told me some 8000 rup to get there bargain to 7000 and thought that was good effort but, damn, a bloddy 2minutes ride and we are there.
The hotel was a good 3 stars one, rang for massage, a rather older lady turn up, good massage but was surprise to find her doing the icecreme job without my consent, WTF. Now have to pay her some tip. Ended up with 100k out of pocket
At night was interesting one, the hotel has own in-house karaoke right at the front next to its main road entrance. Went in there and a small fish bowl on the left with a large room with own bar on the right which is the non-exclusive karaoke area. Cost of girls are cheaper than Jakarta, 50k per hour for them to be with you singng along. Pick a tall bubbly one, had a beer or two, negotiate price for ST to be 400k with my limited Bahasa and her zero English. But as we all know, Karaoke joint will only release the girls after they close so told here the time to be in my room at 0215am Had a few more drinks and then back in room waiting for action, had more beer when the door knocked.
The security guard was there with a couple of girls. To my surprise non of them are the girl I was talking to all night. WTF. They look cute and all but I had that sense of denger rushing through. Didn't allow both to come in, pick the better looking one to come in and told the guard that I "tidak mau" the other one The girl came in while I tried to sort out me brain what went wrong with my communication skill, why did I ended up with the wrong girl and where the hell is my girl.
Check out the price and it is now 700k she said her friend couldn't come so send her instead. I told her it's 400k but she said no, asked her if she has condom and she said only one. After gathering my thought on this, I figured this can't be one of those good night and could even turnout to be the worst one so told her to leave. Gave her 50k for the taxi ride and that's the end of Cirebon trip for me.

I believe that the information already posted on Lombok remains correct. Lombok is a great vacation spot but not a major mongering destination.
Having said that, I am sure that a good taxi driver could help steer you in the right direction, especially if you give him a decent tip.

I stayed at Hotel Pantai Gapura in May 2008 and found it to be girl-friendly. In fact, one of the better pick-up spots in Makassar is the disco that is next door to the hotel.

You are also correct, just walk inside and there are several young lovelies available for take-away (no in-house rooms available). If you don't wish to bring the girl back to your hotel room, there's an inexpensive hotel about 60 meters away that rents rooms for ST.
Not sure what the prices at Corona are now. The asking price for 2 hours of "takeaway" was 300,000 rupiah last year (and was negotiable downwards).
There are a couple of fishbowl places around KM 5 but they're not easy to find. A good cab driver should be able to help you, however.

Just checked my records (my trip to Makassar in May 2008 was for business, so I had to save my receipts) and I had paid 453,70 rupiah per night at the Pantai gapura hotel, and that was for the end room on the second floor closest to the water. That translates to under $50 US for a decent, clean room in a decent hotel. You might get a cheaper rate for another room that's farther away from the ocean.
If that's too much, then yes the nearby Losari beach hotel is girl-friendly.

If you arrive from abroad, I think you will have to check-in and board at a terminal for domestic flights. At the outside of this terminal, you will find various ticketing offices.
How to get to this terminal is a question for the other readers of this forum to answer.
Well it is a little complicated ... the easiest would be to, if possible book in advance on Garuda as their domestic departures are from Terminal 2, which is the terminal you will arrive at on an international flight.
Failing booking in advance when you exit the terminal go upstairs and you will find a Garuda ticketing office. Depending on timing you will re enter the Terminal, which is a whole lot better to wait in than Terminal 1.
Should Garuda not be satisfactory then maybe Lion Air would be your next best bet, they are at Terminal 1A with ticketing on the outside. Not much English spoken at that counter where as Garuda is fine.
Just to confuse things Mandala and another Airline I forget have moved to the new Terminal 3.
To get to the other terminals there are theoretically buses or taxis or countless touts to provide the expensive option.
Try and do your research first as the flights are not that numerous daily. Schedules on the Airlines web sites.

Well your roving reporter is back from my lovely 5 days of holiday in Makassar.
firstly hotel Pantai Gapura is very girl friendly, a nice hotel, helpful staff and you have to get an ocean view cottage for views of all the ships coming and going.
the rickshaw drivers and hotel door staff all seem to have a little girl racket running. just ask and they can get a selection for you to try.
the rickshaw drivers outside the hotel could procure young girls of 18/19/20 at short notice, my first two over two nights were fairly lacklustre in attitude but I am easily satisfied by tight pussy which they fortunately had, my friend who was local then sourced me a lovely girl from Madona's which is a fish bowl joint down the street.
Ima was her name,19,young, lovely nature, hot little body and worth every rupiah, 400K for short time but I liked her so slipped her another 100k. would have got her back but for wrong time of month beginning.
There is a big karaoke strip down the road from Pantai Gapura, like all port towns it can appear a little seedy but for me Makassar was just good fun. hotel pantai gapura was great.

Garuda is the friendliest option if you wish to avoid travel at either extreme of the day. They have a flight which goes at around 1.00pm

i've been several times in tulung agung and always stay in a local hotel just off the main street. can't think of the name just now, may come to me tomorrow. the hotel has all kinds of jawanese antiques rep001tered around the place.
anyway, the bell boy and any other bloke working in the hotel can organize something for you. normally he just calls a "friend" who knows some girls willing to make an extra rupiah.
the same holds true for any hotel in tulung agung.
there are also a couple of karaoke joints. ask taxi or becak driver.

All the big star-rated places should be okay. Some of the smaller, family-run guesthouses - which are often otherwise very nice places and good value - might kick up a bit unless you do it a bit low-key. Depends a lot on the place ...

Opposite Matahari department store, across the road, next to the train station, there are streetwalkers available late afternoon, early evenings. Often you'll find them sitting around the little fountain area. These are not top grade and some dare to ask 350 or 400k for ST. I'd never pay more than 200 or 250k for these ones.
There are some nice nightclubs in town which may hold some better offerings, but I have never tried myself. Recently I picked up a 32 yo girl, I met in train station, not a SW but a single-mum desperate looking for some additional income. I had a great time with her back in the hotel, but again when it came down to looks, not too exciting. I did score a great chick once I met close to the entrance of the botanical gardens, but that's now already 20 years ago and on a recent visit to the gardens, it all looked quite empty.

On a trip through Java in April I made a three day stop in Yogyakarta, and decided to try to sample a little of the pussy there. Despite all that’s been said about the scene in Yogyakarta being so quiet, as I was walking on Jl Pasar Kembang across from the train station I had one woman at the entrance to one of the gangs ask me if I wanted a "massage, " and another give me a wave and lewd smile from the window of a hair salon. So things are not all that clandestine.
But I decided to go for a completely unambiguous situation, so I decided to look for the Corona brothel. I checked it out in the daytime, and the photo of the building that can be found in an earlier post was indispensable, since there is no sign. It is on Jl Sosrowijayan west of Jl Joyonegaran and across from the Yogya Moon hotel, conveniently located close to all the tourist accommodation in the area but not right in the middle of it all if you want discretion.
When I entered I saw three or four girls sitting on some couches by the front window, including a slender cutie. The mamasan then approached me, and greeted me in English. She’s got just enough to communicate the important information. She brought me into the main room in the back, where there were some additional couches. I do believe what you wrote, but it is hard to believe that you had such bad luck. While Yogjakarta is hardly a top mongering destination, there were plenty of options all of the times that I visited (last time in 2008).
The university scene can be hit or miss, and tends to be active earlier in the evening.
Regarding the situation you found at Corona, you may have just been a victom of bad timing. Like most places in Indonesia, Corona has 5 or 6 beautiful women with a lot of mediocrity as well. If you had showed up 20 minutes earlier, you may have found several good choices.

Fly from Bali to Labuan Bajo, go to the Harbour, many boat owners will try to sell you a 2-3 day trip to Komodo and Rinca.
Rinca is actually the better Island if you want to spot dragons.
You'll sleep & eat on the boat.

Go to the Zoo in Surabaya. They have a lot of Komodo and 2 legged hot young animals there.
The trip to Komoda is very costly, and to tell you the truth boring, unless you do the sailing adventure.

No not really. Return flight from Bali to LB is about $120, the 2 day boat trip to Komodo and Rinca also about $120 + $25 visitor fee for the national park.
I found it interessting and saw huge dragons and buffalows. The landscape of Komodo is very nice as well.
You might be able to spend the night in the ranger station on Rinca (don't know it is still possible), do it if you have the posibility.

i just got back from doing the perama boat trip from lombok to komodo, and it was great! lovely little island hops on the way, great snorkelling, lots of friendly travellers in a wide range of ages, etc etc. primitive accommodations on the boat, but reasonable for the price/situation. komodo was very scenic, and the dragons are big, ugly and slightly scary. my friends who took the 2 day cruise back said the dragons were more active on rinca.

On the right is baskin robbins if I remember the name correctly and at the left there are 5 hotel reservation counters. I chosed no. 3.
But. Fuck that. I will give you details on hotels later. Jogja is full of hotels. Now. Insight info on jogja. Near the airport there are several fuck spots and at the city as well. So I will go part by part.
I was in Jogja for approximately 1 month. So I hotel hopped.
Hotels. Jalan pasar Kembang = I stayed at a few hotels here from hotel istana batik cost me 325, 000 per night. Didn't like the hotel cause I thought was over priced. Hotel kota friggin cheap around 100, 000-275, 000.
Jalan Dagen = I stayed at schott hotel, blue orchid. Cost from 250k onwards.
Jalan sosrowijayan. Many hotels too
Hotel sheraton 700k- 1. 3million hotel metro guest house now is 200k no longer 140k as quoted. Its a fuck up hotel for 200k. Jalan prawirotaman. Hotel pulong too. Mutiara hotel = 500-700k grand quality hotel = 600-800k hotel wisanto at jalan tamansiswa 180-300k
Just go to these streets I've mentioned you can search all the hotels there. Do not bother to go to the airport agencies. I also stayed at hotel paku mas which is near the airport. Its also near amborukmo plaza. BTW. I could not remember so many fucking hotel names. Just go find at the streets.
Malls there are several malls here. Malioboro mall is in the city. Small. Now. I saw 2 hotties working at perfume counters. Success rate 100% here. Scouted for 2 days and noticed they work in several shifts and checked all shifts.
Amborukmo plaza. Now this place is a slightly bigger and up class market. Scouted as well. Only ladies for me that is worth looking at is at lg floor. Those working at the handphone shops. I fully agree that Yogya is a waste of time in mongering terms, even if its a very nice destination in cultural tourism terms.
I spend two days there on my trip from JKT (great, as always) to Bali (not too bad) and enjoyed the sights and shopping for art.
In the evening I took a very knowledgeable taxi from my hotel and asked him to take me to Corona, which he did. Around 10 pm they only had about 5 ugly 30something year old Kumpung Ibus available. The best looking was barley a 4 imho and the place looked rather dirty, so I declined.
My very nice driver then took me to 5 or 6 similar places which were even worse.
Finally I ended up in Hugo's Disco, which was basically empty at 1 am on a week day. Most of the staff are funny, nice and polite gay guys and I had a few laughs with them over two Heineken (must be one of the very few places in Indonesia were they don't serve the much better tasting Bintang) and they promised that it was full of sexy girls on Fridays, which somehow I didn't believe.
During their breaks, one of the waiters brought the (female) singer of the band to my table and we had a nice chat. However she was only a 6 in my books and having just had a great time in JKT and looking forward to Bali, I went home alone.
Conclusion: Yogya is great place for tourism and the locals there are extremely nice like almost everywhere in Indonesia. You can get laid there if you don't care in which dirty old hole you stick your dick and catching some lice in the process, but for quality mongering just forget it.
Spent three days here and had no success finding any women. I found the Corona (caddy corner from the Yoga Moon Hotel 200 meters sign) but don't waste your time. They had a half a dozen surly unattractive girls there. Masturbating would be more desirable than getting anywhere close to the merchandise. The only one that was possibly attractive looked like she couldn't be bothered and hoped like hell I didn't ruin her evening by selecting her. Had a couple of tours by pedicab guys and saw pretty disgusting hovels with pathetic well worn girls. Gives mongering a bad name (unless you are into slumming it).
The discos don't get going until after 11PM or so and at my age I can't put up with 200 decibel techno crap and teenagers which is what they looked like. Maybe if you are young and into that kind of thing you could score a nice local girl.
I think the pick up a university co-ed at the dorms rumor I have seen floating around this forum is just that. I mentioned it to cab drivers, the guys I befriended trying to sell me batiks etc. and no one thought it was possible to do such a thing.
I even had a guy who gave me a tour of Bourabador and Prambanan try and get a non pro who was interested in making a few bucks servicing a bule and struck out twice. One was actually fairly attractive but had to work late so couldn't make it and the other who spoke English and had a very nice personality unfortunately wasn't attractive.
There just aren't any mongering venues here. You may get lucky but be prepared for sight seeing.

I am amazed the dive shop I contacted on Bumakenwants $25 a day to rent equipment! Every place I have been gave it to you as part of the deal. Over 2 weeks, that is alot of money.

there are a handful of massage places in senggigi in a couple of clusters of shops on the main drag. my experience is that ymmv. i got a couple of massages with happy endings, but did not find any lady who would do fs. another guy i spoke with had more success with fs. but in general, lombok is a cheap place to lie on the beach, surf, or snorkel, but it is not a place to go hobbying. sanur in bali is far better for that. if you've got game, you might score civvie chicks on the gili islands. as a fat balding older guy, i never tried.
merpati flies between denpasar and lombok, or you can take a speed boat. the flight takes about 20 minutes, the boat takes about 90 minutes. they both will end up costing you between $50-75 each way.

Sanur is quiet and peaceful. You can lay on the beach and on a clear day see Lombok.
But agree with 1Ball in the Bali posts, if you are under 30 stay in Kuta, over 30 and like to see the island and get layed everyday without the club thing
then Sanur.
Kuta and Seminyak are traffic nightmares, hucksters always hitting you up for everything you don't need, shitty overpriced food and a dirty beach.

Had intended to spend a week in Senggigi, but it was so deadly boring in every respect that I cut my losses and baled out back to Bali on the third day.
I can only sit on the beach and watch the waves for so long.
Yeah it's pretty and if you want you can do jungle treks and climb Mt Rinjani, which I believe is the highest Indo mountain outside of Papua. But the food is miserable and the people surly and dishonest.
Like every Indonesian city, there is a very low rent short-time shack place (they are called wismas) in Mataram if you like chubs with stretch marks and garlic breath. Ask a cabbie.
2041 is correct that there are some massage joints in the shopping center on the main road in Sengggi. Went to one but it was very very ordinary. Lousy massage and perfunctory hand job.
I was in Gili Trawangan in late June this year.
It was billed in some British magazine as the "new" Ibiza.

First of all special thanks to Exit93 for posting his detailed report, it was like a Bible to me.
Ok so I had been traveling for two months when I got to Yogyakarta and except a handjob massage in Hong Kong and a boring blow-massage in Vietnam I didn’t get any action. I went back to Gang 3 today, after yesterday's poor but very inexpensive experience, to see if things might be better at another time. They were. I have not read many reports on Tuk Tuk in Sumatra so I thought I might add one. I was there recently and was looking for some company for the night. I went to the local bar in the main strip which is pretty quiet until 10pm and not much better after. The bar is not far from Caroline Cottages. From memory (not that reliable) you take the first street on the left and then a little way up the street on the right a dirt road hooks back up the hill. The bar is on the right of the road about 100 meters I think it was called ‘Tambo’ or something like that. You enter the bar down a flight of stairs on the right and it is underneath the building. Be warned though it is pretty seedy, dirt floor and dark with about half a dozen girls waiting around for a client and occasionally getting up to dance to promote a degree of interest. On ocassion the Indonesian army frequents the place but this night I was the only westerner there and in fact the only potential client there as the other three males (local Indonesian guys) were struggling to stay up right in a dark corner of the bar. Just to the North of Bali lies Makassar, South Sulawesi.
It can be a gritty port city but it has some lovely plusses. It is Indonesia proper after the tourist laden streets of Bali.
Locals are very friendly, it has great Toraja coffee and if you like gold, has some beautiful local gold jewellery.
And it has a greatly underrated P4P scene. Mostly centred around Jalan Nusantara, which runs parralel to the port. A 700 meter collection of bars with fishbowl & kareoke bars. The better looking girls seemed to be at the kareoke joints which would entail hanging around, drinking, making small talk and then hoping she is not just a student who will not do P4P.
Or for those who know what they want, you March straight upstairs with your chosen lady from the bars. Balikpapan is a great little town once you know your way around. I lived there for 6 months in '99 and got so much pussy just driving around fronting chicks waiting for buses or just walking. Also the malls are pretty good place just like anywhere else in Indo.

Balikpapan is a great little town once you know your way around. I lived there for 6 months in '99 and got so much pussy just driving around fronting chicks waiting for buses or just walking. Also the malls are pretty good place just like anywhere else in Indo.

Just before Ramadan I spent some nights in Solo. Like last year, asked becak drivers outside Novotel to bring me to an aquarium. Spent 2 nights at Bunaken island. 1 night in the forest (cannot remember name now, will have to check my records) , drove by the entire countryside and visited the well-known volcanoes and lakes, lots to do really. At Manado, stayed at the Swiss Belhotel, however I recommend the Ritzy hotel, little more expensive but much better location, directly facing ocean.
With regard to women, some freelancers can be picked up, got some eye contact when walking on the seaside promenade alone (where the new malls are located). Saw many cute freelancers at a discotheque called Score, was told they were available at the other 2-3 nightclubs too. Saw a stunner leaving my hotel late night after finishing with customer, I think the hotel security arranged it. Saw many bules with local Minahasan women at Bunaken, so there are definitely possibilities, I would have had better knowledge had a gone alone. A lot of them (the freelancers that is, not the expats) were stumbling into the bar on high heels and seemed to be coming from the night club across the street, but I never went in to look.
Further south from Marina Pub, there are plenty of options geared towards locals. You will need a Bluebird, as it spreads out a bit from this point. There are MPs and a couple of One-Stop Entertainment Plazas. I never went into any of them due to time constraints. I also had a minder with me most of the time, so exploring was limited.
If you like the chicken farm set-up, the area behind Hotel Karolina might be of interest. Continuing south past Marina Pub, you'll eventually see the turn-off (there's a sign on the roadside). It's a dark, seedy kind of place. There's a bar and karaoke lounge and also hotel rooms, not that you would stay here. When you rock up, they will try to arrange a line-up for you take you to the fishbowl, which is behind the hotel, down a lane (I. E. Heading further away from the beach). Unlike other parts of Senggigi, which is very touristy, everyone knows the only possible reason you are in this area is to find pussy. This is also the cheapest place I could find girls in the area. Quoted 150, 000 for the fishbowl girls, did not attempt to bargain, nor did I partake. The karaoke system was explained to me, but I did not understand it. I was also very pressed for time, as I had an appointment back at the resort.
I was mostly tied up for the three days I was there, so this was mainly a reconnaissance trip. Hopefully there might be some info in here for others to follow up on.

Of five taxi plus one ojek trips I took only one driver did not claim access to cewek (Girls)
Seems many of the local Uni girls rent themselves out for a fee. The standard appears to be 1 million Rps. Not cheap, though the one I sampled was worth it.
Came to hotel room no problem with the said taxi providing the transportation. 19 years old very cute, but a little shy. Eventually came around though. She claimed she had a friend who would also provide but didn't get chance to try.

There should be some bars / clubs, some with live music, where you can pick up some freelancers. There's bound to be some MPs there but I don't have any details. If there's a spa that's part of the "Delta" chain, it's probably HJ-only (the others are).
In mid-evening you are only 20-30 minutes by BlueBird taxi from Blok M, something to consider if you strike out in BSD.

Spent 2 days in Tegal last week socialising by day and hunting by night.
Firstly hotel Karlita has some very nice rooms in its new Hotel which was completed last year. Ask for the panorama room which has a sea view. Food nothing special but hotel does have a karaoke and discotheque onsite.
The Karaoke there at hotel Karlita had some stunning girls and I thought I was away for the night, not jaded like those Semarang Ciblek. Found the yellow sign, now actually written as "De Solo : Hotel, Restaurant, Meeting room" though.
However, just visible under this new lettering was the old wording "Solo Boutique Hotel" which indicated that this was the right road mentioned in Sipeko Bach's report, with the alley just after entering. For map reference, that road just off Jl. Slamet Riyadi on the opposite side of the road where the Grand Mall is, is Jl. Dr Sutomo, and the alley runs between both Jl. Dr Sutomo and Jl. Dr Cipto / Jl. Cipto Mangunkusomo (the alley entrance from that side has distinctive political graffiti).
Once in Jl. Dr Sutomo, continuing straight takes you up to Mall Solo Paragon, the best one in town (IMO).
Inside, there is a comfortable Cafe (Eli Cafe, Ground Floor) with sofas & WI-FI.
Anyway, went down the road (Jl. Dr Sutomo) and turned first right as reported.
Getting to the point (long story) , the showroom in this alley has closed down.
According to local Boys, there once 'was' a showroom in that alley (they pointed to an entrance) but it had "moved". Skipping to the evening for a moment, my taxi driver stopped here first (LOL) entering the alley from the Jalan Dr Cipto end, with all its distinctive graffiti. He got the same result, indicating that it was the right alley and that this must have been the favoured first stop for Becak and Taxi drivers at one time, as he seemed genuinally surprised it was shut down. Back to day time.
Once this scuppered things, a local Boy invited me to get on his Ojek as he knew other places where Girls could be found. Judging books by their cover, some of the salons / spas look like they may be legitimate though, such as (for example)"Orchids's Day Spa and Beauty Salon" north of Senggigi Square which 'appears' like it caters more to Women. Walking past that place several times during my stay, none of the staff said a word even at night. Much further down the kilometres long road, the isolated Spas look far more 'dodgy' to me, with pouting women on big signs, rather than the 'relaxed' women on some Spa signs. Others places seemed not to have Girls outside, so it was a gamble what you'd encounter once you walked in. Only spas further down the alleys into the darker areas towards the beach had Girls outside who called "Massaaage?".
None caught my eye though, so it was a second visit to Indi that night and couldn't wait to get inside that warm snatch again once more before leaving. Evening time the square was a little different, and active. Today I went to Kundur. Before I update it I'd like to thank the above poster for his updates and whilst I acknowleged that he updated the demise in 2009, its now 2013 and so maybe I was hoping there was a improvement.
I also confirm that Paya Labu is dead from a hotel driver. And as to Netty yes I can beleive that the picture is 7 years old in the pic she looks early 20's now 30+
To day I went to Kundur via Sl Beliah cost 20k, then the oplet from there to Tg batu was 23k. Sure I could have gotten off at Sawang to look at Batu Tajung, but I figured I'd look at the town and look at ferry options from Batu.
I briefly asked if Batu 7 still functional and he kinda shook his head. I then asked a ojek and I didn't get a firm answer. So I decided to go back to Balai. On a short trip to Palembang recently, I can report that this place is very slow. Perhaps it is because I was there on a Sunday / Monday."Zinc" a club with live band does rock but pretty slow going so early in the week. Otherwise, hotel Novotel offers good karaoke (and pool) with a good selection of good-looking chicks. Taking them away is quite expensive I hear (1M+) as the mamasans operating there seem quite aggressive.
Another place which may be worth trying is "Retro", a bar in the Capital building. Went there about 9. 30pm but it was too early, the action starts at 10pm.

Went three times to hotel Arjuna, mentioned by coconut cream. Twice a success, third a disaster.
Easy to find. Go to Balapan station. Walk a few blocks east on the same side of the road and there is the sigpost hotel Arjuna, to your left, just before the Pertamina station.
The hotel is large and a bit shabby. When I entered a room the first time, the rats just decided to leave the room. The bed bugs were sent away by an attendant carrying insect spray.

I chose kartika graha as it has a night club (myplace) so I expected it to be quite friendly for girls. It is located at jalan jaksa agung suprapto. Very close to the McD. Keep in mind that google maps gives a slightly wrong location (300 meters off). Malang seems a bit different compared to other places I visitted in indonesia as women / girls and guys do not seem to smile that much when they see you passing. People seem more relax and even though I did not see any bule except at the station people seem to find it more polite to look at you jakarta style.
So first of all I tryed the inhouse massage till 23:00, why make it hard if things can be easy. I had a good massage but nothing was offered and I am convinced nothing extra can be obtained. After 23:00 I tryed the inhouse massage organized by the bellboy: an older woman mid 40s with quite decent english came by. Offered a HJ. She was nice and enjoyable and seems to do almost all hotels in the area after midnight. So chances are pretty high you will get her if you do an after midnight call.
So I went to the nightclub in the hotel. I noticed a lot of 9/10 at there karaoke facility but decided to first go and see what the club had to offer. It was Saturday and the club was quite full. I noticed a lot of univesity girls with friends and a lot of promo dancing girls sitting with customers. A sort of mamasan seemed to put them there. Only setback is that it seems you need to order a 1 m IDR bottle of whisky before you get any attention. The club is almost every day active except Sunday evening with dance and model shows. The 2nd night I invited a dancer over. Every 10 mins she ordered something which was to fast for my liking and she still had some performances to give so I let it go. Luckily I met a freebie who dragged me on the dancefloor. It payed off I refused two drunk 7's who studied in germany and came back to visit their family. The other (egyptian?) guys who studied in Malang and joined her and her friend didn't seem to happy so we exchanged numbers when she left. She came over the day after. Unlucky for me her friend works at the karoake and she brought her for an initial drink. So I could not try the karaoke anymore. 22 years old. 8/10 face and almost the biggest boobs I have ever seen on a rather skinny indonesian girl. I had a great night. Took me a while convincing her, but she couldn't resisit anymore the moment we were saying goodbye and stayed over for the night.
As I had some daytime connections I could not explore much in the day. Also malang is difficult to go around if you prefer taxi's, taxi's do not drive around and are on call only (plenty though). It took me a while to get a motorbike of my own to explore. If you look for massage parlours you are out of luck. Because you will not find any in malang city. They exist but they are all hidden. Some guy I met in the hotel proposed to bring me to one and after go eat at his family place. Nice guys but it felt uncomfortable and by the time I was convinced I did not had the time anymore. They call the massage places "blinded window" and apparently BJ seems to be the standard. No FS. Malang seems to be full of them, but if you do not know where they are you will not find them. Locals use them a lot but hotel reception do not seem to want to point out where they are. Perhaps they count on their karaoke. The karaoke costs 600k for 3 hours and 300k for a lady companion. You can take her home but you need to renegotiate on the price.
If you do not have connections or do not know the language or have the time to search; and want to try massage parlours you should go to Batu. It has a lot of arab residents so. Massage extra is offered on the street close to Batu Night Spectacular, which is an evening entertainement park very close to jatim park 1 and 2 (day entertainment with zoo). As I was with company I could not check it out. It is on jalan raya oro oro ombo in batu. Batu is only 30min-1hour from malang city center by bike or car. BNS is located just south-east of jatim park 2 (look for Batu night spectactular / cinema4d / bank Bri on google maps). This street is supposed to have a lot of possibilities.
The only pijat I saw was "pijat shinta traditional" located equal distance from Batu and Malang on jalan IR soekarno (the main connection between batu and malan). Type: Pijat Tradisional Shinta, Mojorejo, East Java, Indonesia; in google maps. It was 17:00 pm and all seemed closed except for a small house connected to it. Perhaps this is the entrance. .
Another pijat is located on the main street from malang to surabaya in Lawang. Not far before Kebun Raya Purwodadi (botanical garden) you will notice a lot of army barracks at the right side. Opposit of them you will see a big pijat sign. It did not seem active either.
So my conclusion for 3 days malang. Massage places with extra are very difficult to find if you do not have much time and if your bahasa is limited. Try to find the hidden ones with a local guy and BJ only is supposed to be expected. Please post an adress if you succeed where I have failed. Otherwise head over to Batu as their they seem to be openly allowed. Most easy option to get laid would be the night club in kartika graha which is on the expensive side thought I only saw stunning girls, not a single bad-looker around.
There should be freebies enough but other then many restaurants malang does not seem to have many places to meet. Also people tend to keep a little distance compared to other citys in indonesia. Pizza hut girls and hotel reception girls (which normally never works if you stay in the same hotel and your time is short) were interested.
Places to go out to meet people:
- MyWay club in kartika graha hotel.
- Hugo's club (same name as ik yogya). Taxi's know the way. You will not find it if you look for yourselve.
- De Liv cafe (jalan semeru). Restaurant and bar where the more trendy hang out.
- A small 3 floor bar which in the weekend should be full of ladys (corner of jalan semeru and jalan jenderal basuki rahmat) , look for the bikes outside. Local guys seem to find the local girls difficult to approach so guys go drink on the roof, girls at the tables on the 2nd floor.
I think malang is a great place to live as it is quite, clean and is full of young university girls, but rather difficult if you are non experienced and stay shorter then 1 week. Good luck! I did not give much information but hope others can add, I will certainly go back as I like the challenge.

I passed in the end mindful that my Indonesian friends were in the next two cubicles enjoying other services at lesser rates.

Palopo.
Got into Palopo about lunchtime after staying in a kampung in S Toraja the night. Before and headed in to Platinum hotel to find a room.
Just about to hand money over for two rooms when my friend spots the big "No girls in the room", sign which for this pair of punters was a deal breaker. So we hot footed it out of there with a poster of the whole observant hotel team beaming down at us from the lobby as we left. Got to the next hotel which had the same sign on their check in counter as well but we managed to negotiate a concession. When the boss goes home the phones start working was the essence of the negotiations.
Had lunch on a levee near the harbour where spent most of the time chasing cats away from the table. Some of these warungs haven't yet obtained their HACCP food safety ratings, In fact they haven't heard of food safety full stop, had a walk on the Palopo harbour where a rather bored crew on a palm oil Barge from Surabaya were trying to sell 10 tonnes of fuel. They wanted to get off the barge but hadn't recieved any wages yet hence the fuel sale.
Did a scout of the girl joints but nothing opening untill 8pm and 9pm. First place was about 8 km out of town on the road to Makassar just after going up the first hill. Small rusty sign said Trans Hotel. Had a bar and series of short term hotel rooms on site.
Main action is at Pantai Labombo which is a area of what appeared to be reclaimed land with about 8 or 9 huge halls or discoteque / kareoke halls, each had a selection of girls hanging around although it appeared to be deliberately kept shadowy so you couldn't scrutineer too closely. Music was ear splittingly loud and beer was warm. You get a jug of ice if you want your beer cold. It all just seemed too hard.
