Curitiba

Just arrived in Curitiba. I'll be here and/or in Floianopolis for a week. Doing some tourist stuff, but I'll be checking out some of the places listed here. If anybody is in town and wants to get together for a drink, PM me.

I know its been over a year, but I was planning a trip to Brazil (Sampa) but around the time I wanted the go the World Touring Car Championship will be in Curitiba, so that lead me to this part of the forum.

When I go to Curitiba, I stay at the Vernon Palace Hotel, a nice 4* hotel, in a good central location for about 70 reais a night. On the link you provided, it shows their rate as 80 reais per night. I always got 70 reais there as I am a repeat client and I speak fluent portuguese. Not a big deal of difference but you can bring it down by just mentionning that you stayed here last time (even if you never stayed there, say around last year) and you paid always 70 reais. Should at least give you a discount on the spot. :) If not, well, no big loss neither.

Curitiba is a small city compared to Rio or Sao Paulo, so it is easy to navigate it. Stay close to the centre of city that's where all the prives and casas are located.

Mercure Apts (Accor group) are always a good value for money in Brasil.

They have 5 locations in Curitiba. There's two Ibis also, which are cheaper (around 90 RS).

It's been 4 years I've been in Curitiba so I can't really help for the current "in" non-pro places. You could check Veja Curitiba, where there's a search fonction for nightlife, and make your choice (select "para paquerar", which means "to chase girls").

There's no freelancers club like Help or Love Story in Curitiba BTW. Your only P4P alternatives will be boates, casas de massagens or accompanhantes. Don't worry though, I recall there's something like 200 putarias (boates, clinicas and prives) listed in GPGuia for Curitiba ! When I was there 4 years ago, the best boate in town was "Sahara" in Batel area ..it was a great place, packed with stunners, quite upmarket, a kind of local Cafe Photo ...don't know if it still exists though.

Contrarily to Sprite13, I don't recommand you to stay in Centro BTW. Batel neighborhood, which is the epicenter of Curitiba's "trendy" nightlife, is much cooler.

A friend suggested Formula 1 in Curitiba, its 65R a night and girl-friendly

Sahara was closed 5/6 yrs ago.

Class is a nice club, a bit pricey though.

Sexy is a place in which I never had any luck but it's always packed.

Casanova is a bit off from the central area, small and with the barezinho atmosphere.

Cafè Paris is a hole.

as I already reported Crystal on BR 116 is my favourite place, often very young putas, variety of colour and races. price for take out and TLN 80+150BRL.

I will be in town mid of March. If You hit anything interesting or new please do not be lazy and report.

BR 116 is a highway.

I usually stay in the Batel area and it takes 15/20 minutes (20/25brl) by taxi. Specify that You want to go to the Boate Crystal on BR116 as Crystal is also the name of a shopping center.

I am sure You will enjoy yr. stay.

ABSOLUTELY NOT !

Let's to explain why I went here, cause from foz de Iguazu I had to stop here in airport going to Floripa, so I though it coud be good to see one city in the south of brazil, where I supposed there were nice white skin girls.....

Actually the girls are lighter skin, but they are not that nice I was thinking, when I decided to come here.

Again the city is pretty large, I stayed in transamerica hotel in district Batel, close to center, everytime you need taxi and to be in a city in Brazil, so far from the sea not much to do it.

The food in restaurant is a bit cheaper than in Rio, but the sex is so fucking expensive.....

I visited only boites:

SEX:
it is in the center, you pay 44 reais to get inside and you have 1 or 2 beers i do not remember, however I went there on 22:00 and I left about 23:00.
About 40 girls and only couple of them nice, it was really a waste of time and money!

METRO:
much smaller than sex and much worst, but 50 reais and only 1 drink included. About....8 dogs... I left without finished to drink my beer.

CLASS:
it is supposed to be the best place, it is only the best ripp off place, girls under average and 60 or 70 of entrance

CRYSTAL:
I went there the first day, there were2 nice lap dancers, one very nice but enough selfish when I spoke with her and the second one busy.
I went back the second day, but let's to make very clear that Crystal in comparison of one little terma as montecarlo or l'uomo is SHIT !

First of all, you pay 50 reais to get inside and no drink included, second one, tax to get the girl out is 150 reais, no matter if you already bought 10 lady drinks or no one, then girls is gonna asking 500 reais and they take enough long time to go down to 300 reais, but it is not in center, so plan also 50 reais of taxi to go there and back.
Ah..lady drink from 70 reais and as usually lady drink is mainly ice, so they will finish it very soon.

I took a girl back to hotel, she was only ok, nothing special and the sad thing she was the best I saw in 4 boites in Curitiba, but I spent 200-300% more than what I could spend in terma in Rio !!!

When I told to taxi driver, which nice boites are, they all told me, I was in the best 4 boites Curitiba can offer, that is why on the third day I left !!!

Surely the city is more clean and safe than Rio, but for me no one reason to come here, much higher prices for sex and nothing to do.

Happy I stayed here only 2 days and for sure I will never come back here again.

p.s. as typical in brazil, even if transamerica hotel was not very bad, as price quality, but I drunk from minibar only 2 beers and they counted 3 beers and french fries....I do not understand, why they have here always to try to fuck you and they know it, cause when I said from minibar only 2 beers, they immediately corrected the bill, so they are always trying to rip you off, even if good quality hotel there is no respect for the turist !
