Well the girl from the fire club ended up being a freedbie. I normally stay at the Yak & Yeti, been staying here for over 3-4 years regularly, so the hotel does not give me too much trouble as they I will take my business elsewhere.

Well from experience I can say that the dance bar girls are just a waste of time and money. They would just make you spend money there and thats it. And plus none of them will leave before 1am, you have to go to a bar 2-3 times before you can get a girl to call you or give her no. Best is to get them to come in the day, before they go to work.

I am in ktm at the moment and will be here till the 7th, so will keep you all posted with any new experiences that I may have, I hope I do. Will be going to fireclub tomorrow night and check out the scene.

rather far much better is hotel yak & yeti or annapurna or soaltee all in the city center and gf hotels. do remember getting a girl in the room may be bit difficult but give 100-200 rupees (2 usd) to the security man and he won't mind.

but only in the night time as i have tried it when the reception staff is off the duty. i will also be coming to ktm in mid march.

I tell you, Malla Hotel is good too. I been there last year, am going again next 2 weeks.

There is a massage centre there, but don't bother, no action around. Massage parlours are just dirty and dark. Don't carry too much cash man or you may end up nothing after that. I agree we need a local contact. People there don't simply entertain anyone. Kathmandu is really beautiful but the people can treat you invisible.

Just finished a few days in KTM after the election. No the Maoist victory has not presented any problems to the tourists nor mongers so far. Generally Nepal is safe to travel in just now, as long as you stick to well-touristed paths and take the usual common sense precautions with third-world countries.

To update on Caiguy's report. Everest Massage in Thamel is right next to the Kathmandu Guest House (central point of Thamel in many ways) on JP School Rd. Great live band bar in the same block and right in the heart of the shopping. The manager lady there (Indira) has a kind face but a filthy mind, and while she seems to have learnt some massage techniques, she makes it apparent fairly soon that other services are on offer. FS seems to be out or takes a long time to negotiate, but HJ and touching her anywhere is all fine for NRp 900 (USD$12. 50 or so). No cleanliness in that place whatsoever and little privacy. I prayed that the local guy behind the curtain a few feet away wouldn't shower us with his load as he was receiving the same treatment. Anyway, her hand technique was impressive enough and she wanted 3x more to finish with oral, which I declined. Like many, I shot all over the wall (it must start to build up. She didn't wipe anything) and she didn't seem to care. The place is definitely seedy and filthy but if you are desperate for some relief. Just had 2 days stop over in Nepal, stayed at the Crowne Plaza Soaltee, nice hotel in comparison to the one in downtown Thamel. Brough a girl in late afternoon, so far no problem. the dance bars in thamel have gotten a lot wilder than the few that were in nepali sections ten years ago. i saw fully nude lesbian dance / shower acts. the girls were typically very hot, and one could get a topless lap dance for a hundred rupee tip (this is not the case in all of the dance clubs, but the shower ones seemed to be a bit more extreme). in all cases, girls will come sit with you and tolerate your groping if you buy them overpriced drinks. be careful, in about half the joints i visited they tried to rip us off by putting extra things on the bill, or bringing less change than you should have gotten and hoping you don’t count it. beers are about $5 for a bottle, juice for a girl is about $7, so it is still not prohibitively expensive.

however, despite getting extremely horny watching gorgeous nepali girls rub their crotches together under a stage lit shower, none at all would go home with me or any other client. this seems to be a way to get around being busted for prostitution, as just about every girl i asked did volunteer a phone number and offer to meet during the day. i guess they just cannot leave the clubs with boys and they were all chivied out into cabs by the workers when the police came around to close shop at about 11 pm. some of these girls spoke decent english, and were much better looking on average than the mp girls, so there is potential, but it can get complicated if you don’t have at least some nepali and a safe place to meet up.
