However, the really well-traveled people undoubtedly know what's going on, because I routinely stay over in places like that. But they can't say anything unless I open a dialogue on that subject, because an accusation would beyond inappropriate! So I don't pretend to be vanilla, but don't advertise or brag about my adventures either. It's just not a topic for discussion with anyone outside the hobby. So I never introduce a coworker to mongering or even allude to the fact that it exists. If anyone is with me, I go monger after they've retired for the night. Then no one gives me crap about morals, questions why I do week long layovers at my own expense in third world places, or wants to go in my place the next time! If I bragged to people outside this board, they wouldn't believe me anyway and would just see me as a perv. Some of the stuff that happens in our hobby is surreal. I wouldn't even believe some of the better posts here if I hadn't experienced similar things myself. Most of us screw more girls in a single trip than most guys screw in a lifetime, and these girls are usually way better looking and performing than the common girl. This is why guys become jealous and I can't say that I blame them.
Ignorance is bliss for your coworkers. Better that they don't know. Send them some news stories about some of the absurd violence in Rio, like the picture from O Globo last year of the girl walking past the dead body of favelado gangster guy that was thrown in the shopping cart, or the hostage situation at the hotel in Copa. That'll do it.
At least then they don't have to worry about getting tangled up with putas, spending too much money, health risks, mongering withdrawl after returns home, catching hell from trolls on ISG even after they've posted days of detailed reports with directions, times, girls names, prices and pictures...just because they ate cu or barebacked, or whatever. I'm always torn about whether introducing someone to mongering is the best or worst thing you can do to them. Guys become junkies on the first time. The guy who introduced me to mongering doesn't get to travel anymore. He is a good friend, but he burns with jealousy everytime I go somewhere. I quit discussing these things with him a long time ago, because it's a sore spot. At some point, when you monger enough you have to come out of the monger's closet for one reason or another, and let your S.O. know, and then you find what you are made of and either get divorce or acceptance of your philandering. The latter is the only positive thing that come from it, except of course the wonderful banging and things to think about when you are old and drooling in your oatmeal (copyright, some other Rio thread guy who invented and is about to call me for using that phrase) . So you are 100% right. Telling people about adventures in Rio is a very bad idea and there is not benefit to talking about it offline.

According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) about 7. 2 millions inbound tourists have visited Brasil in 2008, which is an average of almost 20 000 arrivals / day (about the equivalent of 55 Boeing 767 full packed). Furthermore Brasilian authorities have recently made of tourism one of their top-ten priorities by launching the second phase of the "Aquarela Plan" (O Plano Aquarela, a marketing plan to increase the flow of tourists to Brasil) , which began in 2006, the goal being to double inbound tourism before 2015 and to place Brasil, now 33th, in the top-15 world's top tourism destinations.
Wake up. Brasil is already a mass-tourism (and mass sex-tourism) destination.

BTW, most of the flights coming into Rio from the US recently have been Brazilians returning from shopping trips. I have been monitoring US flights during Carnaval and they are about 3/4 full coming and going. Tourism from the US is anything but up. Seems like you need to wake up and get more current statistics (and not wishful government ones).

I see some rude people stomp on other mongers posts. They attack fellow Mongers that post 75% entertaining, useful, helpful information. I wonder what the reason is for this rude, troll like, comentary?
Punta Players, Bubba Boy, and Sex machine I read over and over again prior to my trip. (there is another guy that posts on MERB that I studied too.) I also got some PMs that were very helpful form everything to links to langauge lessons, directions to privies, and how to get a garota to go home with you at the end of the night. Some mongers provide good information and then others provide entertaining stories. I was sitting in the Balconi bar looking at the Garotas wondering if the 18 year old Nichele I met was the girl JC ran off with from Sex Machine's posts? When I go back and reread these posts it brings Rio back.
I may not get back to Rio this year but I will stay in touch with these threads! Thanks a lot to all you Mongers out there who are willing to help out a fellow hobbyist!

So while certain high end establishments in SP and almost all of Copacabana are mass-sex tourism destinations like you said, the rest of the scene in the large cities is relatively untouched by the sex tourists.
I'm not sure what relevance your post has. There haven't been any pioneer mongers in Brasil since the 1500's. My point is that it's best to keep activities to oneself rather than introduce other people, like coworkers, to the sport. Fewer mongers is good for us and good for Brasil.

I'm planning a trip to Rio in may had had a few newbie questions. I've read bubba guide and I plan to follow it to a tee. It is very informative and will make my trip! I've noticed that the dollar is real weak outh there. Since most of the action that I am planning is going to be at 4x4 etc how much should I bring to monger? I plan to have 3 girls a day for about 7 days. Have the prices skyrocked? How much should I be prepared to spend on mongering for my trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I was out there about 6 months ago when the rate was about 1. 8. I never went broke so fast in my life. 3 girls a day? If they are all at 44, about 470 a day with drinks. If I remember, its about 240r for room and girl. Times 3, at 1. 65 rate, and you will be about 435. 00 a day. That assumes you get there early enough to not pay the entrance fee. Throw in another 30. 00 for drinks and you will need some big time cash. I remember the old days when you could have 3 girls there and you would be out about 150. 00. Anyway, have fun. Its only money. I wrote a trip report for my trip. If you do a search, you should be able to find it. I go into more details.
