I myself have quite a bit of experience on punting in South Africa (Johannesburg Pretoria Sandton specifically).

I tried to get several women to come to me and they all denied. The two I got to come to me stated that a lot of women have been robbed, beaten, raped and even murdered doing outcalls. Two options I will try for the next trip will be doing incall first. If we have a great time invite them back to the house. Second option would be to meet them at a bar near my residence and make them feel relax. I did three in calls that were okay. One girl was working out of an apartment. The other two working out of a house. The two places I went to was the summit club and royal park. Enjoyed the summit club. It felt more secure and upscale than royal park. A lot of women and hardly no men the both times I went. Took a girl out of this place and she only charged me 800 R. She stayed with me from midnight to 5 pm the next day. Good time and great chemistry. Royal park seem more rough. A lot of men and for the most part women too. Majority of the guys was doing their action on premise. I've been seeing better looking blacks on Instagram as of late rather than on ESA.

Seems like the semi-pros have gravitated towards instagram rather than walking the street or posting on ESA. I know in my travels in Nigeria that semi-pros work out of clubs and have started adopting instagram.

I do think for SA the best strategy (as with many other African countries) is to work out of bars and clubs. Find one of the top clubs and you'll be bound to find many working girls; they're easy to spot. When last I was in Jo'Burg, I used ESA mainly, but I did see a lot of potential in the clubs and such. I think this time around I'll do either Sandton or Rosebank. Maboneng is pretty close to Hillbrow and the action there (Royal Park, Summit, Braam) but Sandton and Rosebank are definitely closer to the upscale clubs and such. Maboneng on the weekends, especially during day is good for day game with regular chicks.
