yes, with all of the evidence about condom use and STI prevention, it makes you wonder about the state of mind of our barebacking members. i have heard the arguments that its their choice. however is it fair to say this when it is not only their health at risk? i would have thought members of this forum are educated enough to realise this. i could understand some of the girls not understanding the risks on these grounds. i am not trying to offend anyone here but am expressing my amazement at this repeated and premeditated high risk (for all) practice.

I want to stay in a girl freindly hotel in Block M and my freind recommended Hotel Halambra (maybe wrong spelling) but I called today and it is $120 per night. Can anyone recommend a god hotel in Block M in the under $100 bracket, it is really hard to find any clear info on the web and JKT seems like a confusing city to know where you are located!!

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The Sahid Hotel, which claims to be a 5-star but is in fact more like a 3-star, has a Japanese bar on the 16th floor (I think), which I believe is the top floor. It works like this. You are met by a hostess. She takes you to a section of the bar with many young girls. You pick one and she sits with you and flirts heavily. You buy drinks for the two of you. After an hour or two you leave and give the girl a tip.

Of course I asked the girl to come home with me but she said she couldn’t. But I did get her number. On future trips I tried to meet her but it never worked out. She always acted all innocent, saying she’d come over but didn’t want sex. I lost interest.

One day I heard from her. So I told her (by SMS) that I’d like to meet and said openly that I look forward to "making love" with her. She showed up at the hotel an hour late. She came straight up to the room with the security guard, though I had offered to meet her in the lobby. Not exactly innocent!

I did a report on this place around two weeks ago. Again last Sunday I had to pick up someone and went early enough (they open at 8. 00) to catch some action. This time it was not bad. The hotel that was recommended to you was Ambhara. It is very well located so much that you can walk across the street and get to the Blok M bars like Top Gun and My Bar. Also located right across the street is Passaraya Mall. It's a real good location. Also, you'll be able to get it cheaper if you go to the hotel reservations desk at the airport where you are getting your bags. It's called Indotel and you'll have to pay for your rooms in advance in order to do so by Rupiah or credit card. You can extend by going to one of their offices later in Jakarta. I'll put a link below to their website which I don't know how accurate it is, but it's saying 660,000 a night w/breakfast. The rooms aren't big but location is killer. Staying at other places in Blok M like Melawaii run probably in the 330k range. I used to stay there but it's a little ratty to me, and I got bit by mosquitoes as I'm a magnet to them. If mosquitoes don't bother you, you can go there. It's a farther walk to those bars, but once you know it, it's not a big deal. It can be kind of scary walking there late night though because of the darkness and might behoove you to just take a cab. Also, at night, you'll probably take a cab if you are with a woman in tow.

Personally for me, Blok M bars are great to go to for relatively cheap fun, but you don't have to stay that close. If the price is good for you, then Ambhara is pretty good location and it's a true 3-4 star hotel. It's great not to have to take a cab to go eat in the mall and then barhop. Hotel pricing for what you get in Thailand is not close, but this hotel will not disappoint if you can afford it. Otherwise, other hotels are definitely available but you'll have to cab or take a bus to Blok M. There is a hotel section here in the Indonesia section so if you haven't maybe read it. But the link below is Indotel and will show some pricing for them but you'll have to deal with them when you land and go pick your bags up. There's ATM's right when you clear immigration to pay in Rupiah, but for that much, you might have to charge it. There is another hotel reservation desk called Kaha right outside after you clear customs, but I don't recall seeing that they had a relationship with Ambhara hotel. You can check and the customs guy will let you go back into the luggage area to go back to Indotel to do business otherwise. At least they did with me before. Kaha seemed cheaper for the hotels that both did business with. They will even come to your hotel to help extend your stay for their price if you call them. Don't know if Indotel would do the same. You'll have to pay them cash though of course but it's all legit.

The hotel would not match the price given to me by the hotel reservations desk that's why I had to call them. It's stupid but they all do it. The website quotes for the hotels are kind of bs, so don't bother. The Indotel website below is kind of tricky to figure out but information is there, just find the links by moving your cursor around to see them.

Also, enjoy but realize it's not Thailand.

Thanks for the hotel info...I think I will just bite the bullet then and stay at Alambra. On your first trip its probably better to just spend the xtra, really enjoy yourself without any hassles and be done with it.

My 2 friends and I had to undertake a consultancy job in Jakarta last week. We stayed at Nikko Hotel. The hotel and facilties were good.

Two of my friends told me later that they met this pimp handing out calling card outside the hotel late in the evening and decided to try his girls. They requested for girls around 18-20 yo and this person quoted Rp500k for ST of 2 hours and 2 shots. When the girls were delivered to them, the pimp demanded money up-front together with taxi money (apparently for the girls later).

The girls (my friends found out later were around 25-26 yo and not 18-20 yo as promoted by the pimp) and after one shot immediately got dress and wanted to leave. When my friends informed their respective girls that the services was for 2 hours and 2 shots, the girls informed my friends that the pimp told them it was 1 shot only and not 2 hours and 2 shots, and that they were paid Rp120k for their service.

My friends called this pimp and demanded justification BUT the pimp denied having offered them the said package. My friends were furious when they related the incident to me the next morning when we had breakfast (with my SPG sitting next to me whom I met the day before at Taman Anggrek Mall).

I am relating this incident in this forum because I wanted to alert fellow brothers visiting Jakarta NOT to use the service of this person. The information on his calling card read:

I had one encounter with the lady on my only visit to Kartika where I specifically asked for her, based on MS's recommendations on this thread. I was not disappointed.
