If you're at VM after midnight, the Metro will be closed. However, it is not necessary to take a taxi back to Centro / Copa. Go to Rua Ceara, make a left and follow the road until you get to a pedestrian overpass to cross Avenida Presidente Vargas. Take the overpass and go down where the two bus stops are and wait for the buses that go to Centro and / or Copa.

My advice for those going to VM:
1) Take your own bed sheet if possible;.
2) Take your own towel to dry off and to put on the bed sheet if you don't bring your own;.
3) Bring something to clean the bottom of your feet from all the crap that is on the floor of the room (unless you don't take off your shoes during the sex);.
4) Clarify with the girl what she will provide for the standard price she charges (although she could lie about that) and the price of any extras;.
5) Get a commitment for the full 30 minutes and show her the time when you start the session; and.
6) When you get back to your hotel or apartment, shower before you get into your bed to clean your skin of anything that might have gotten on it.
By the way, for those guys who are young and have at least some Porto and want to hang with young Brazilians and maybe try to pick up a freebie, there are two bars right at the entrance to VM that were packed with hundreds of young guys and girls at 2:30 in the morning, with more still arriving.

2) That's good advice too, although I doubt he / she / would admit you don't always get the full time. One time the girl ignored the time signal because she had committed to a time and the signal was well short of that time.
