First time in Rio, for a couple of days. I've been to Colombia about 8-10 times now, but wanted a different scenery. Stayed at an upscale hotel in Copacabana, right across the beach (posto 5). Termas are all there still-depending on your taste! If you want to get that plastic factory vibe go to MC, Centaurus or Solarium.
4 x 4 can be factory too but you can find a gem.

In the nineties I stayed in the green building many times, while looking for apartments. It was great value and top location. It's still a decent place, but it cost way more than USD10 today.
