I'll add this, fully acknowledging that this is my experience, and not necessarily representative of others.

I strongly believe there is a tremendous cultural difference. As someone who went down that road, I think, despite Mexicanas saying differently, women in Tijuana are more coin driven than US girls. But in a much different manner. It is not a simple calculation. There is a lot of misunderstanding about a gringo's wealth. I truly believe they cannot comprehend the conversion of income. What they see is a gringo that makes 10 x their monthly salary in just a week. So automatically, they feel the gringo has more money than he can spend. They do not account for all of the other factors. And when a gringo balks at a price, they see it as a genuine insult. They see it as though the gringo would rather wipe their own ass with a $20 bill than give it to her. I also feel, culturally, for reasons above, there is no shame in asking for money. Again, the thought is that the gringo swims in money.

I say all that to say that I feel that at times, real feelings can develop. But expectations and cultural differences make it extremely difficult.

I know a few guys who got guasi-GF relationships with Tijuana bar girls, but it took a lot of time, patience and investment. Their lives are secured and far more comfortable than the average mongers from the US, well, at least until they turn old, lumpy and ugly hehe. But it's common knowledge that women from any countries, any socio-economic class are money-driven. They all try to dig out as much gold from the guys as they can, putas or not.

Interestingly, Tijuana girls are not without empathy. I know a guy who keeps pleading poverty with these girls, how he's unemployed, having no money, no love ect. It seemed he got friendlier services at lower prices from these girls. The basic Latinas' ethos are typically co-dependent. They identify with and need to help the meek, weak, down trodden, even losers like their padrotes, and they just hate phony braggarts, rich, successful people.

It's different with non-bar girls. Knowing the dire financial conditions of most young civilian women in Mexico who earn $50 a week from clerical or non-skilled jobs, I suggested to my friends that when they go out on dates, they should compensate the girls for their time, hour by hour, at the rate of at least 10% of their hourly take home earnings, without having to be asked. The poor girls, some very nice, pretty, sweet and attractive, would never turn down cash presents, and would likely return the favors with hot passion. Think of it not as a quid pro quo, but your sincerest gesture to help poor girls in needs.

Guadalajara is full of esteticas masculinas, which are "massage parlor"/ brothels. Overall, very pleasant, inexpensive and safe. First time visit to Tijuana coming up. I don't suppose any of the esteticas (like the one across the street from the Ticuan) are similar? Seems like there should be.

Hey gents,

Here is the report on my recent bombing run. I got down to San Ysidro this past Sunday around 3 pm. Due to other circumstances, I had a rather expensive rental car on this trip. This was my first time using cabs in Tijuana. I have been in cabs in major cities all over the USA. But the cabs in Tijuana make the US cabs seems like Rolls Royces. Seriously, it felt like the front wheels were about to come off at the slightest bump, brakes were metal on metal, etc. Anyway, on to HK. I got a room at Cascadas even though I wasn't planning on spending the night. Just walking from my San Ysidro hotel to the border and across, I worked up a pretty good sweat so it was nice to shower off. I did bring a small bag with a change of clothes, etc.

Once cleaned up, I headed out the front door (approx. 4:30 pm), around the taco cart corner, then through the alley. There were lots of girls out, but I wanted to survey the whole scene before making any choices. Headed to Chicago next. Stepped inside, sat at the first bar, had 2 for 1 beers. In closing, I had a great time once again and will be back soon. Tijuana has been the best mongering experience for me. Although my experience is limited to the US. Also worth noting, I had no troubles at all with rateros. This includes police rateros. I did see some in the alley a few times, but they seemed to be leaving people alone. Sorry for the long post, but I want to give others the clearest possible picture of my experience.

I was down Monday before they arrived. Last time when there was a deluge they camped out for a time inside the old building (now torn down) so I suspect they will again make their way to the border and perhaps create or add to the fluster cluck either at ped West or ped East (which is the one I use).

Ped East area is so messed up with construction (putting in new sidewalk) that they now have a lane in the street for us foot soldiers to use. Still, I prefer it over day hike to ped West which I've never used once.

I would agree. Price wise, if they agree to extras, you'll pay more than a bar girl, many escorts amd certainly any SGs.

Across from Ticuan, and a few others in the immediate area, do fill that need. The ones on Revolucion are more professional but I assure you that you can leave happy.
