WR, what is the approximate cost for a Postal I'd?
600 to 800 pesos. She will need to provide some documents such as NBI etc but that is cheap. Can get it quickly if she is organized with the paperwork required.
Has anybody checked to see in ABC Hotel is still offering up the helicopter service from NAIA?
They still offer it, I was quoted 14 K pesos, but I wouldn't depend on it. Last 2 times I tried it was down due to mechanical reasons.
Only on my first trip a few years back did I use a public bus from the Cubao terminal. It had air-con and wasn't too bad, just took a long time; about 3-4 hours if I recall. Cost was 139 p, plus taxi to the terminal (about 200 p) and then trike from Dau (100 p). The worst part was the trike ride as my suitcase would only fit on the roof of the trike's sidecar; I had to hold on to one side and the driver the other. A real pain in the ass. Never again for me.
Since then I've been using a car service booked via Margarita Station; always on time, late model cars and good drivers at a fair price.
Postal and / student ID is OK within the Philippines.
Easy to get postal ID if she has not got. Have flown mainly times between Cebu. Davao, Manila and Clark with the odd trip elsewhere in the country and cuties used either I'd easily. Check in together is my advice.
I will have her get the postal I'd, but I will also have her get the work I'd. What is confusing is there is nothing on the airlines web sites as to acceptable I'd other saying a photo I'd. I stopped in Air Asia office and asked them and they told me a postal I'd was not acceptable, especially at Clark. Then they didn't know what was acceptable. But they could book my Cebu Pacific tickets for a fee.
WR, thanks for the info and advice.
What is confusing is there is nothing on the airlines web sites as to acceptable I'd other saying a photo I'd. I.
No surprises there except that you were told postal is no good. Strange but maybe a Clark issue (as Clark did have a bad reputation for its officers / counter staff at one time).
Photo ID showing her birthday. I use Cebu Pac mainly and no issues. One cutie used PAK and nothing happened. Is just to make sure the name on the ticket is the same as the person travelling they see at the counter hence the photograph.
The work ID is a good idea also. Passport if she has never fails (but the airline can't tell you what is acceptable LOL).
New gogo bar White Wave opened up last night its where the old Spearman's used to be next to Bunny Ranch. Stopped in for a while its ok but nothing special. Had a date with me so I didn't enquire into bar fine prices. The official grand opening is tonight.
Has anybody checked to see in ABC Hotel is still offering up the helicopter service from NAIA?
I inquired about the helicopter for my next trip. They said they don't offer the service in house. They will set up a charter for a third party and quoted me 39,500 php. If anyone has heard differently recently let me know. I heard the old price was around $250, which I was going to do.

I met a guy living in Makati a couple of years back that used it.
I'm sure if you google it. There aren't many hotels with copter service in Manila.
What do you guys think? Why did all the companies cancel their direct flights from BKK to Clark? I mean Air Asia isn't an option. It lasts about 9 hours with a stopover. Is it finally because of all those raids still happening which cause that less mongers are going there nowadays?
I am planning on my first trip to the Philippines for about a month in December and January. I am hoping to hook-up with a nice companion in AC and then spend a week in Boracay. Can you fly from Clark to Boracay?
-Thanks.
Check Cebu Pacific. I don't think so.

-Thanks.
There are no fligt from Clark to Boracay (Caticlan airport). From Manilla you can fly with Cebu Air or PAL Express or Philippine Airlines. Return ticket 100/150 dollar.

-Thanks.
There's one flight of Cebu Pacific between Clark and Kalibo everyday. That's used to be Tiger Air. But the departing time from Clark is early morning.

Not everyone want to fly direct to AC (I do only from within the country and that is rare) and the airlines have figured this out by doing the maths and watching their profits fall on these routes.

Most people that used to be on the Tiger Air flight to Bangkok were not mongers, but families and couples.
