Planning on heading south of the border Tuesday morning from LOS Angeles (suggestions as I don't have a car on reaching the border cheaply? Get a room at the Ticuan hotel in Centro. Install the app Whatsapp to help in communicating with escorts. What time on Tuesday do you plan on being in Tijuana as I may be able to meet you and show you around the zona a bit.

I just had a thought and checked on Western Union, you can get an exchange rate of 19.67 pesos /$ + $3 to $5 fee! In Mexico, you can pick-up this money in a bank account, or at an OXXO store. Called up Western Union to find out if I can wire money to myself (or have someone else from the US be a sender and I be a receiver). Their response was it has to be a Mexican Citizen with a National ID, which is used to verify the receiver as well. If you have a trusted person in Mexico, this is the way to go! With the significant delta in exchange rates, seriously thinking about working with our office janitor (who has family in Mexico and visits) to get a few hundred dollars exchanged this way!

I am not trying to start anything. But I just called western union and the representative I spoke to told me that I could receive money from their agents in the country of Mexico with my valid US passport.

Now we need someone else to call and do the tie breaker.

I would love to use this option if it is available, and Yes it includes the 2 Oxxo stores near the HK Club. If someone is in that area, can they just walk into the Oxxo and ask the clerk, then be kind enough to post the response here?

They tell me he rate is much better than the exchange houses on either side of the border. Personally I just do ATM withdraws, using my BBVA Compass card at a BBVA Bancomer branch, with no ATM fees, My last transaction, after the 1% international fee, was 19.45 to the dollar.
