I am just back from a trip in Philippines. I visited Makati for first time and spent my last night in Oxford Suites. I started barhopping on Burgos and led to Flamingo. Dark inside and no pressure for LDs but because of the dimmed lighting had difficulty to spot stunners. Anyway I found the choice of the night, paid the barfine of 2200 pesos and returned to my room.

The girl was friendly especially at the bar where she performed even a good lap dance. Now on the bed anything but memorable service however she posed for some sensual (no nude) photos. She was not clearly in a harry to go away but was nagging about leaving my room. I wanted her longer because she was sweet and pleasant. I finally said that it was OK to go off.

She replied: ''Give me my money".

I had the information that the tip for long time is about 1000 pesos in this overpriced area but I had doubt about this because the barfine in Flamingo bar is low by comparison with some others. On the other hand it was about short time and the performance of the lady was mediocre.

Well I proposed 500 pesos and she complained quietly asking for 2000 pesos. I laughed to myself and gave her 1000 pesos not making allowance for further talking back.

Do you believe that I overpaid?

In conclusion I believe that in looks the ladies in Burgos are not so much better than Angeles ladies so as to pay over twice as much.

Stay away from Burgos. All those bars are owned by the same owners, about 2-3 of them. When they raise the prices on the drinks and bar fine, they all do it together. Greed is killing them now. Before, Burgos used to be a happening place, now it's a ghost town. When you buy a drink for a girl, it's 350pesos? ($8) Philippines is still a 3rd world country! You can go to Malate or EDSA and the barfine is only 1000 pesos (instead of 3500 at Burgos) and the girls are much friendlier, prettier, nicer, etc. Plus, I hate being mobbed by the girls at Burgos, pressuring me for drinks and the mamasans coming by every three minutes to buy more drinks.

Contrary to popular belief, the not all girls on Burgos are tested and clean. I know this because we have dated a few girls. Especially at Flamingo, girls there are known to have STD's and use shabu.

If you've been to Burgos, you will notice that most of the bars kind of look and feel the same. It's because all of them are owned by the same owners.

The barfines on Burgos are all LT barfine prices. If the girl leaves before morning and it's not your idea, you need not tip her anything! She get one-third the barfine cost anyway. Tipping for poor performance is ALWAYS a bad idea. It only encourages the poor performance. However, most girls on Burgos are much more service-minded than your choice in my experience.

I passed through here on the way from Davao to leaving the country.

This happened to be the day that the bomb went off in Glorietta, killing several people. That night the mall was closed, along with Hard Rock Cafe and TGI Friday.

Lots of people were milling around the edges where the police had set up barriers. This ended up being one of my more ghoulish places to pick a girl up. There were a pair hitting on me for a while. I only liked one of them and I got her number.

My original plan was to meet a contact from Filipino Kisses. But she started making plans to invite half of her neighborhood and letting you know who foot the bill. I just told her that maybe that wasn't a good idea and I'll see her some other time.

So I called up the girl that I met earlier at the scene of the crime. We met at the front door of the hotel, the Renaissance. It's guest friendly and all, but as has been reported before they do need an ID shown and some form filling.

The sex was pretty good, GFE, enthusiastic and all around the room in different positions. I paid 1000 for it (wasn't much more than an hour). All in all it was better than paying for a bunch of friends and relatives to hit the town.

I still had time to hit the EDSA entertainment bars. In my satisfied state I was only going to take home if she was something fantastic. I didn't find any such thing even after 5 bars. It wasn't that bad (except for the music selection), but I wasn't feeling needy at all.

As usual the taxi drivers here were exemplary pricks. One of them even had the nerve to try to play off of the terrorist attack: "My cousin was hurt in the attack...I think I need money to help his family...yada yada."

Always be on your guard here.

Ok. maybe its more epxensive that som other places.. but its still very enjoyble and we all have different experiences.

Ive been going there for years and its true that prices go up and down.. but i recommend to going to some of the "other " bars there.. theres always fun to be had.

The quieter bars wil always have buried treasure. Try High heels. sometimes some gems there.. try Stardust.. I always have fun there.. ok..now its Foxys; Mascara early evening is great. Rogues has the cheapest beer and also chaepest hally hours.. and the girls are great. especially later when well juiced.

For me I dont bother with Bandidos or Flamingo. Crap. But all the other bars. are fun when you get into it.

Does anyone know the name of the place right across the Oxford Suites? It's like a two level building with a sports bar on top and a floor show on the bottom. Walking into that place with a couple of buddies of mine and we knew that it really wasn't as packed as it should have been. We weren't brave enough to check out EDSA but since our hotel was close by, we decided to check out the closest place and since our eyes were going ga-ga over everything (first time on P. Burgos) we didn't really catch the names of the bars we walked past. Besides, it was really really raining that night so it wasn't the most conducive to bar hop. My mate barfined a girl and he paid 3500 for it but I was able to negotiate it down to 3000. I don't know if he tipped her in the morning (I was too busy nursing a hangover and didn't bother asking him) and as since I didn't really care to partake in such activities (since I had already blown my load earlier) that was the last thing on my mind. The price of the beers were spot on (350p) and we didn't bother with the ladies drinks because, well, what was the point if they could be barfined anyway? My question was, is 3000 reasonable? All things considered when you do the currency exchange, it was still a darn good deal but. What do you think?

Personally, I would have wanted to get the mama-san. Mature older more experienced women rock my world.

but Im not convinced that makati gurls are much better in quality and service then edsa gurls. Maybe you guys post some pictures here so we can compare.
Even my last visit on edsa doesnt impress me much, maybe Im spoiled.

For a change I fly next month first to Bangkok, then to Manila then heading to AC. Im not sure if I stop at Makati, last time I watched a guy slipping 3000 p to the bargurl in makati as tip for christmas!!!

Yes you can go to Makati, but get the gurls somewhere else...

My first trip to Makati this weekend. Reading the reports I am gathering best places to hang out is Mascara, Billboard, Bronx and Foxys. Anyone else have advice to add here? . I am also looking at long time ladies, take it speak to mamasan first to check out those that will stay and those that say OK and then do a runner? . Sorry for simple questions but I tend to spend most of my time in Thailand so needing any pearls of wisdom I can get on PHP before heading across. Ta

Billboard for me is crap..too many peolpe hustling for drinks.

Bronx only gets going after midnight.

Go in bars and see what suits you.. one day a bar is great next day awful. All depends who's working and how your mood is.

Try them all..and when you dont like the atmosphere..then just pay the money and walk to the next. Ignore all the touts selling you everything from fake viagra to chewing gum. They are a pest.

But its same as in Nana or Soi Cowboy.. go in.. look.. sample...stay if you like if not hunt some more.

If you have time, soo much easier to get the girls numbers and see them in the afternoon. They are all up for it..instead of the bar fine rip off.

I had the unfortunate timing of planning my trip home last Thursday after an enjoyable mongering trip at the Peninsula Hotel in Makati. My flight was in the evening and I had requested a late check-out. I thought this would be a good time to walk over to Glorietta Mall and eat.

While walking out I noticed much more security and press people. I asked the doorman and he said something about a Senator giving a press conference. I didn’t give it a thought and proceeded out the hotel.

I was at the mall for about an hour or two and decided I’d go back and start packing. When I got close to the hotel I could see there were barriers everywhere. I walked up to one of the soldiers standing there and he breaks the news to me that there is a coup attempt at my hotel and nobody is allowed in or out. I try and tell him I need to check out, grab my luggage and get to the airport. He just smiles and says “not tonight sir”.

Now the reality is setting in that I am separated from my passport, credit cards, laptop and luggage and I ain’t going nowhere tonight. That’s when the gunfire breaks out and I see a tank pepper my hotel lobby with 50mm shells. I start running for cover. All I have on me is a cell phone and two hundred bucks in pesos.

This is the part that gets interesting. After running for about a quarter mile with thousands of other Filipinos I stop and catch my breath. What do I do? To make matters worse, the word gets out there will be a midnight curfew and violators will be arrested. I grab my phone but the only local numbers I have are young ladies I have bar fined for the past 2 weeks. I called the last one I was with who works on P. Burgos and let me tell ya she was worth every bit of the 3000 plus pesos I spent on her the night before.

I told her of my plight and she said to get over to P. Burgos. There were no cabs available so I ended up walking all the way there. She met me there and took me to her apartment. It wasn’t much and she shared it with 5 other girls sleeping on bunk beds with no a/c., no hot water but they did have a television which they were all watching the chaotic happenings only a couple miles from them. It turned out that the girlie bars were not open long due to the curfew so I had food delivered and everybody was happy. It was really wild hanging out with them in their own environment.

The next morning I take a cab back to the hotel where they let me in to get my stuff. There was glass everywhere with lots of bullet holes in the lobby. I checked out and headed to the airport to get back to the real world. I can’t wait to come back here.

Great report DD. I am just curious how did the airline respond. I was in Makati en route to the airport when I got a cell call informing me the "Bomb" (fuel tank) exploded last Oct and I was hoping my flight would be canceled, but the airport personnel acted like it was just another day.
