I'm the Spanish guy who stayed at Capt. Dave's house one year ago. I am not a 100% reliable source of information regarding your question, but your checked-in baggage will definitely be sniffed (either by dogs or by electronic noses). Depending on where you make the customs procedure, your hand luggage will be scanned either at Amsterdam or at Madrid. And I do not know what would happen if they catch you with marijuana. If I am not mistaken in Spain you can have a small amount for personal consumption. Since you probably want to have enough for your stay, that could very well go over the personal allowance.

However, Argentinian friends of mine have travelled several times with yerba mate in their backpackis without problems. So:

(a) if customs want to catch it, they will definitely catch it if it goes in the checked-in luggage.

(b) if it goes in your hand luggage, you will no be subject to sniffing, and if the scanner reveals something, it will probably be no very different from yerba mate (from a scanner's point of view). You can also put it inside a yerba mate bag.

However, if you are worried about being caught, why not trying to get hold of some marijuana right in Malaga? Probably the quality will not be the same, but.

Great map! I was just about to post that I happened to see the Google street view for Factory Air, but you beat me to it! BTW, there is NO reason for Google to photograph that street in the middle of an industrial park, unless the photographer was a fellow hobbyist. Another reason Google will take over the world.

Am headed to Madrid for the first time in November and am beginning the planning process. ISG has not let me down in preparing for trips to Hong Kong, London and throughout Germany.

Am staying at a hotel on Calle Atocha and noticed this forum mentions two apartments at #45 and #107 -- Am not familiar with this model --- do you just head to these addresses unannounced and see what's available? Do these places have websites (can't find anything).

I'm a newbie on the Madrid scene and would appreciate any candid comments and details you guys could provide on these two particular brothels.

I know Atocha 45. It is open 24x7. You can go there without booking, and expect a line-up of 15 girls, at least in a work-day morning or afternoon shift. Regarding quality, it is very variable, as in any big brothel, it depends on the moment you arrive. If you are lucky, you can find several 7s and some 8 in the line-up.
