I am wondering if the US might prosecute if the assault and battery is reported to them. She should remember the name of hotel, room number and the exact date of it to locate the person. Also full documentation of the assault and injuries to build a case. I would hate to see someone get away with this. PM me if I can be of any help. Also her name and hospital if I can be of some help. I am in AC until September 8. Having a lawyer to press this would be most helpful.
Thank you for the offer. This _is_ the Philippines we are talking about don't forget. I came into this picture at the 'I'm in hospital, help me' stage. In the midst of dealing with her immediate needs coping with her medical treatment & abandoned kids I did my best to get some facts from her about the guy. She says he's American but he could be Canadian for all we know. Bars don't ask for passports. Were the police called, she says no. I followed up with the hotel who were extremely vague & suspicious, but confirmed the assault, they say yes police were called but arrived after she was taken to hospital. Did the police visit her in hospital to get a statement, she says no. The hotel certainly was not going to divulge details of the guy to me. It's all swept under the carpet. I've tried to help this girl out without getting too deeply involved. One learns to observe boundaries, there is a lot of need out there & I'm not UNHCR.
Not questioning your story, but two things do not add up. First, an ambulance and second, the hotel did not call the police? No Filipino would miss collecting from a foreigner.
Robb.
One uses the term ambulance loosely in the PI. In her state I guess she was'nt in the best condition to observe precisely what kind of vehicle it was. The police issue I've addressed in another post. I'm relying on what she & the hotel tell me which admittedly is not very much. Philippine crime scenes are a bit of a spectator event as anyone who has been around one can attest. I tried asking the guards & housekeeping but I am not in a position to stride around playing detective. I'm sure it was a customer not a local according to the little I could gather. At this point I have to step back & leave it at that.

AV.
Thanks for the reply. Two weeks ago there was a small incident with a bar girl in Subic and the PNP demanded 30,000 P to let the monger go, so I can't believe the PNP would pass on a girl getting beat. She should have called the PNP, if she was beat as bad as you say, she could of collected a few thousand pesos and the SOB deserved to pay.

Robb.
This is complicated by the girls personality. Some of them are very open about their work do & some are deathly scared of exposure. I know from past experience this girl falls into the latter category. I would not be at all surprised that she is not co-operating with the cops. Missed a windfall but its her life.

Up to her

AV.
Too bad she will let this guy get away with it. She has a good chance of recovering her cost and lost salary. But in the end it is up to her. AV, it looks like you took care of the hospital bills. Understandable she wants to keep this quiet from family and friends but I think she can collect discreetly.
You seem sure about her story, but a drunk trike driver/ bf makes more sense to me.
The story sure sounds fantastic, and you go to remember that filipinas are master liars.
The story sure sounds fantastic, and you go to remember that filipinas are master liars.
I would say they are compulsive liars; I would not agree they are master liars. You'd think with all the practice they'd improve. Once the lie is exposed everything quickly unravels and they don't do damage control well. I reckon this topic is better suited to Filipinas - Opinions and Advice.
The hotel certainly was not going to divulge details of the guy to me.
For a few hundred pesos one of the desk clerks, guards, maids or bell boys surely will do so. I doubt you're inclined to pursue the matter, but for peanuts there's always a way to circumvent the cover up, if one indeed exists, and obtain info on practically anything.

My "immediate apology" will be dependent on AV posting a hospital receipt.
I thought the AV regular was from Geckos? This Brown Sugar gal was a different "regular", or the same gal who has changed bars? I guess we all have different definitions of "regular".
Someone has suggested that this conversation be moved to another thread - I agree. PLease allow AV to give a response - that will be the end of it for me.
Excuse me, this girl is a regular from Brown Sugar. I attended the hospital & helped this girl. Your comments are totally out of line. I expect an immediate apology.

not to add credibility to av's statement. but i do know that bg's have been beaten and raped. you guys have to be naive at best if you think every guys coming to ac is a nice guy. its attracts some of the lowest elements just as it does regular guys. more so as they feel they can buy their ways out or run away from the law.
i also was taken to a hospital from fields in an ambulance which filipino's called as i was in no shape or knew who to call.
so i am not sure what one means by. they don't understand the term ambulance. they do have them.
you go to remember that filipinas are master liars.
No they're not "master liars".
Compulsory liars for sure, but a few check questions later 99% are totally lost in their crappy webs.
