Day 33 Monday March 31,2014 Pattaya Day 2:

It was a beautiful sunny morning in Pattaya. All the previous night's concession stands were gone from Beach Road, thank Buddha. It is a quality replica made in Taiwan. I am not comparing these watches to a genuine Phillipe Patek other than in a superficial casual way. They would not fool a watch expert for 5 minutes although they could fool me and most of my friends under the right circumstances. I showed my two fakes to a watch dealer in the USA. He said they were quality fakes and added that he thought I paid a very good price for them.

A genuine Phillipe Patek is a work of art. My father gave me his genuine Philippe Patek for my 30th birthday. He paid $6500 for it in 1970 when he was in Geneva. I recently showed my Patek to a Sotheby watch expert and he said it was worth at least $25000 in today's market if I were to put it up for auction, which I will not do for sentimental reasons. The fakes are just for fun. I bought my two watches from Mr. Jack in April and they are still ticking so so far I think I got a good deal ie they are good quality inexpensive working watches.

BTW, there is no way I would take a real Phillipe Patek to Pattaya, BKK, Manila, or anywhere else.

Do you have any experience / comments about taking a flight from Pattaya to Koh Samui?

I would like to try night live there combined with nice beaches besides mongering. Is it worth or it's better to stay in Pattaya only? I'm looking for other destinations that the triangle Bangkok. Pattaya – Phuket offering some sightseeing between sex sessions. Isaan might be a destination for example, but what to do there except of fucking? Would you have any idea?

I have about 3 weeks to spend in Thailand and I'm looking for an itinerary. I'm looking for sightseeing and mongering, as I can't fuck 3 weeks without a break. I know Bangkok quite well. The nightlife is very good there, but it's not very much to do there for me. I was thinking to try Pattaya, but I'm afraid that after a couple of days I'll be bored. Therefore I thought about doing some overnights trips around. Is Koh Samet or Koh Chang worth to go? I mean for sure there are nice beaches, but is there as well some action as well? Or maybe an idea would be to go to Cambodia for example? Could Sihanoukville be a nice (and safe) destination?

Only on special occasions because of what it is and what it is worth. Everything hand made and gold. No way do I take it to mongering destinations. I just wear a Raymond Weil watch for everyday purposes. Enjoy your watches.

Look at your watch's dial closely. Antoni Patek was a Polish watchmaker in Geneva who together with the French watchmaker Adrien Philippe formed Patek Philippe & Co in 1851. The company has been owned by the Stern family since 1932. By the way, Patek Phillipe is one of the few Swiss watch manufacturers to make their own components. Most of their watches are mechanical, but they do manufacture a quartz movement that is used by Omega and other watch companies.

In Bangkok there are plenty of things to do, I love this city, but I like to move around and see new things. I'm living in a big city and spending my holidays in a big city as well isn't a perfect option for me. However big cities may imply good mongering while in small cities / rural areas there is usual no action. I'm looking for a balance between those 2 things. Would it be Koh Samui an option?

Is in Kanchanaburi any action or you it's nice for seeing the famous bridge or other 'classical' tourist attractions?

And beside that it takes a long time to get from Bangkok or Pattaya to Sihanoukville. It took me something like 12 hours back in 2007. If you want to go to Sihanoukville then get there from Phnom Penh, it's much easier.

I think Phnom Penh is a better destination for you if you decide to go to Cambodia (which I can highly recommend; very nice people and beautiful ladies). Many things to see there, like the Royal Palace, the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Museum (S21).
