A very useful thing is that they quickly give you an understanding of how much you can trust the ads on different websites (local versions of craiglist). I must say that in general ads are much more reliable there. I am not considering here streetwalkers (romanians, latinas, africans.) that go for maybe 100 dirhams, trannies, nor the high-end (you can pay 300-400 euros for a top girl, that is 1500-200 dirhams)

Prices are fairly consistent, it seems. You can get one hour for 100 euros (500 dirhams) and most girls are not time watchers. Incall is preferred, or per-hour rooms. Prices are quite uniform and so is service at least in the segment I explored.

So now the comparison:

-Latinas: Main difference, they are real ones. Plenty of them Spain 1, UAE 0.

-Chinese: The ones in Spain seem to be younger / prettier and they offer anal Spain 1, UAE 0.

-CIS, no Central Asian girls. Russian / Ukranians in the 20-40 range are plentiful with very few complains about poor service / attitude. They seem to be better behaved there Spain 1, UAE 0.

-African are plentiful on the streets but not in the segment I looked into I am not sure if they should count as a positive or a negative point, but hey, I am in good mood Spain 1, UAE 1.

-Specialities (like BDSM and other fetishes) are obviously much easier to find in Spain. Actually somehow more / better in Barcelona Spain 1, UAE 0.

In summary, in terms of variety Spain offers a different choice but is somehow wider than the UAE, service seems to be consistently better and prices somehow lower. Dubai offers a mix that may seem exotic for the European traveler, but it is no longer the cheap mongering destination we read in ancient scrolls.

Finally, I had a specific goal in my trip and I managed to find what I was looking for. You are right about Dubai being overpriced for the level of service you get and compared to income levels. It certainly has gotten too expensive lately and you don't feel that value anymore. I'm convinced GCC visitors have contributed significantly to the rise in price and overall poor service. Masseuses in AMPs for example are starting to ask for 250+ just for an HJ like its the "normal" rate, where before I wouldn't have to negotiate the price down to 100 every single time.

SuperCroc (and others who may be interested) I speak the language. Trying to tap the market in English may bring different price points (where different is a polite word for higher). What is going on with prices? Called one of my semi-regular Filipinas for a short time during the day fun. She has always been no more than 400 for daytime fun, usually I can get her to come out for an hour for 300. She just quoted me "600 and I know you're going to give me a tip". WTF? I don't understand how prices continue to go up when you see tons of girls that are not getting dates. What is happening in Dubai. Since the hobby is legit and formalized you don't have to be concerned with green or red hotels. Brothels and sex clubs are abundant. Of course the selection of Latin women is the best in Europe by miles. Prices can be expensive in the bars but otherwise they are reasonable.

Dubai is great for business and Asian women. Barcelona is cool location for pretty much anything you want. Frankly both locations are pretty cool compared to other shit holes in Europe an the Mid East.

For sure there are sex clubs that cater to tourists and are a total ripoff. Charging 150 Euro for 30 mins and 30 Euro for drink. I doubt locals go to these and they should be avoided.
