I have also visited this place a couple of weeks ago.

Tried this place for the first time, older chinese chick probably late 30's

To repeat a point already made,

Make sure you don't drknk to much, it is cheap and easy to get very drunk, that is when you are at the greatest risk of doing something that will ruin your life.

Regards[/QUOTE]Definitely Pattaya. I've been there more than a couple of times and simply loves the place. The number of WGs is amazing, great selection and cheapest prices in the LOS.

Also beach and many entertainment options, both in the Walking Street area and elsewhere.

Soi 6 is a good daytime option. Mostly ST but some can be BF'd for a LT.

Re beach and swimming pool. Be careful not to swim there, water is polluted and dangerous! There is an island with a nice beach nearby, but you need to take a 1 hr ferry to get there.

Jomtien (next to Pattaya) is a nicer and slightly quieter beach. The father away from Pattaya the better the beach is. Great seafood places at the far end as well.

Beware of. Everything. Girls not using condoms, ladyboys (unless you want to try something new more than a HJ.), surveys in the street that will include questions about where you stay etc. , people that will try to rip you off, simply be careful in general.

Leave your money in your in-room safe and make sure nobody has got access to it. Don't carry more then you are willing to lose.

Having said that, don't be too paranoid and enjoy your stay. Most Thais are warm, friendly and welcoming people. It's just that some ignorant tourists have done very stupid things that have insulted their culture and whatever is sacred to them (eg, the King and the Buddha! ).

There is a forum managed by some of Pattaya expats with some very friendly advice, including dangers, culture, medical advice and many aspects of life in /visit to Pattaya. It's called Pattaya-adicts.com. I strongly recommend that anyone who goes to the LOS would at least read the cultural aspects.

Some things would seem weird, like. Blokes walking with bare shoulders, stepping on a note with the photo of the King on it; but after all. This is their country and it's just annoying to see how many farangs think that if they spend money there they can show disrespect to their culture.

Better get used to Asians, mate! First, there are more of them around. Second, you're more likely to get a better service (but not definitely). Third, prices may be cheaper.
