Just kidding, although I do wish I had known about more good-value places like Willoughby. Of course, as a tourist I was looking for more central locations, but with Sydney's good transport most places would be within reach even for short-term visitors.

I do agree with your point about value, in that the expensive "must do" places (Tiffany's in Sydney, Top of the Town in Melbourne) were really not worth the price. The more local-oriented places (like Marlene's) offered the best price and the best service.

The problem with Sydney is that there are so many good choices, it is hard to know where to start. I think our friend did quite well to suss out the places he mentioned, and I don't think he would have been too far out of pocket with his choices. He has gone away with a smile on his face, and some good words for the service he received. And he has taken the time to share his experiences with us, which is a lot more than many of the "please help me" requests bother to do.

I must add that his praise of 429 Pitt St was a bit of surprise, this place is often derided on local forums.

Don't worry, I completely agree, I think his FR was excellent. Just want to point out, as you note that with so many choices, you can easily spend less and get very good service. Having said that I have managed on a couple occasions to blow a couple grand on a single visit at 533, so it is more a matter of what you do with the extra money saved!

The place is now owned by Marlene, a Chinese woman in her 60's. It seems she was a former working girl. It looks like the place was renovated about 2 years ago and there are about 10 rooms. Place is very clean and she offers nice touches like mouth wash, deodorant and towels which aren't frayed. She has car parking below.

There's always an excellent line up. Mainly youngish Asian girls from Thailand, Mongolia, Nepal, China. There's a couple of South American regulars and also a few Aussies. You will find that those women who provide really good massage have been traditionally trained in China and are not prostitutes.
