Well i don`t know where you stayed, and with kind of people you did hang out with, cause the girls i got to know so far in SDQ, Cabarete... ( UASD students...) they did use all the tenses which you said they would not.
Especially the subjunctive with all it`s different forms is used alot in cuba, D.R....
I don´t know your level of spanish, but in general the subjunctive is used for wishes, desires....so for example if you want somebody to show up at your place you say quiero que vengas a mi casa instead of vienes...

This is absolutely wrong as far as Spanish spoken in the DR goes, though correct about vostotros. I cannot speak for other places.

In the DR the forms used for the second person are tu (singular) and ustedes (plural).

Chicas use the imperfect a lot. "Donde estabas?" (Where have you been?). "Estaba caminando en la playa". (I was walking at the beach).

The perfect tense is used a great deal and I recommend it as it is also very easy to use. "He comprado unos regalitos por ti". (I have bought some gifts for you.) "Que has hecho hoy" (What did you do today?).

Subjunctive. "Deseo que venga con tigo en tu hotel". (I would like to come with you to your hotel.)

Eltoro gringo had posted some pics of a girl with quiet a number of tattoos and based on his reply her name is lexi. I would love to hook up with her, however still trying to find out where to find her. I am I'm in sosua at the moment till next week. Does any of you know where she can be found?

Lexi lives in Los Charimcos, she works at a salon there, I do not know the name but it is green in color and it is on a corner across from a store.

I am sorry to correct your Spanish but the correct way would be either
1. Quisiera venir contigo a tu hotel.

or
2. Me gustaría venir contigo a tu hotel. (I would prefer, me gustaría acompañarte al hotel)

Essentially, if the subject of both clauses is the same, there is no subjunctive used.

Also, you would say
Te he comprado unos regalos a tí (though I would suspect that in the DR they would say "regalitos"

"Vosotros" is used exclusively in Spain and if it is heard at all in Latin America, it is in only in literature and in scripture.

I have an oppurtunity to rent a private condo on there grounds with access to there facilities. Private security and ability to bring home guests how close am I to the action. It should cost me 1000 us for 14 days? A good deal for the privacy I thought. Very good company as well.

Anythoughts?

The best massage parlor in Sosua is called La Passion which is at the very end of the pedro clisante street.
The main discos in Sosua are the merengue bar, classico`s, latino`s club and the sosua life bar.

Taking a quick survey on the best location to have an unforgettable 30th birthday celebration with three of my best friends in Sosua. Looking for the best location to have plenty of ladies and lots of fun. I have looked into two villas and confirmation on both but just looking for thoughts and/or opinions. First time in Sosua, stayed in Puerta Plata six months ago, and want to take full advantage of all Sosua has to offer. Thanks

I may be in Sosua from the day after Christmas through New Years. Do the girls go home for Navedad, or will there still be plenty in town?

I don't want to find out that there are tons of guys there with the week off and now chicas.

Is it busy generally during the holidays?

As bars have to close early (1:00am Sun. Thurs and 2:00am Fri& Sun) the casino night club has turned into a good meeting point. Nightclub is alright, however Casino sucks as Management does not pay their staff well and just want to maxime their profit. This results in unhappy staff and service, very cheap alcohol, some very interesting "game" rules and senior management pissing off their clients. Nightclub Yes. Casino a very BIG NO.
