You can still vist this place, it is still one the best places where falangs can go. Try some the top floors and the model sections, as we all know the stocks keeping changing and I am sure from your last visit almost 95% of the stock must have changed. The best time in the model section is between 5 to 7. 30 PM, where most of them are partime and you can aslo ask them for catalogue, but this is on pre-arrangement where they come. Be ready for few 100's of USD for top end.

If you have local thai contacts / business assocaites ask them for Thia places, exclusive ones, you would drop dead at the selection. Women who are no logner qualified or the rejects work in places where they service the tourist or the falang places.

They are 10's place in Ratch. , walk around the massage places and I am sure someone will catch you eye. Like they said "beauty lies in the eyes that behold".

I had to do a report on this, pardon if it is not necessarily keeping with the topic of the forums but I found it extremely interesting and I think there may be a few others who might also be interested.

One evening as I was eating dinner I commented on the chili oil and mentioned to the General Manager at Livingstones that I would like to take some home. He asked the cook to buy some for me the next time she went to the Klong Toey market. I was interested in the market and chatted to him about it for a bit. It sounded interesting and I said I would like to go see it. With in 5 minutes he had arranged with the chef at the restaurant to take me the next time she went. As the Market is open late in the evening it was going to be a night trip around midnight.

The next evening I was sitting around talking to some friends and the GM came up to me and told me the chef, Apple, was going to the market at midnight if I wanted to go, of course I did. We got in a cab or the short ride over to the market from the hotel. When we got there the first thing that hits you is the smell. It is not bad but it is strong and consists of a little barnyard odor but also lot of spices and some smells of cooking food. The next thing you notice is that it is very wet from people hosing off everything from meat to fruits and vegetables. Many of the people walking around wear waterproof rubber boots to stay clean. As we started walking around the first thing you see are hundreds of live chickens and ducks in cages. I was told that if we got there earlier they would have been slaughtering some of them. We entered the front part of the market and there were stalls that had huge piles of all types of different curries and peppers. Everything you can imagine was available in these stalls. I bought my chili paste along with a bunch of different curries and spices. Next is a huge section of the market dealing with fish, most of which were still alive. They had all sorts of fish and shell fish in all different sizes and the prices were really cheap compared to what I am used to.

We kept walking and Apple was really nice but also a bit worried about me. The Market is really busy with lots of people moving huge barrels of food, pickup trucks moving food around, people spraying water to clean things, etc. She kept watching out for me and warning me about everything. It was pretty funny. The next section we went to was full of meat, mainly pigs, chickens, ducks and cows that were being butchered. Here we saw the hundreds of chickens and ducks that they had slaughtered just a couple hours earlier. They were eith all plucked and whole or were being cut up into various parts. Every possible cut of meat was available and all looked very fresh. Just past that was a huge section of fresh fruits and vegetables. It was really impressive. I have been to bug food markets in Asia before but this was bigger than any I had seen and definitely had a wider variety of foods. Of course it would not be Thailand without an elephant walking around with its handler. I had a great time seeing this part of Bangkok life and appreciate the guided tour.

If anyone wants to buy some great spices, fresh food, etc I would encourage you to check this place out. I would warn you that it is not for anyone with a weak stomach or who liked to buy their meat prepackages and in a supermarket.

I hope you check it out, I am looking forward to going back and getting some more curry.

I will be visiting in mid March for a few days. I am on an expense account and would like to stay stay at a GF 4-5 star Hotel. I had been leaning towards the Shangri la, but after going thru some of the posts here have since decided against it.

Having read some of the reports I tried to Book at the Sheraton, and JW Marriott, but both are sold out. I have manged to book at the Plaza Athénée. I am wondering if this is a good place or is it too far from the action? Some reports seem to indicate it is GF.

Is the EDEN club the best place to visit for quality and variety and to get take out. Any other recommendations?

I would appreciate any guidance you could provide me.

I totally disagree. This place charges a very unfriendly farang surcharge ranging from 500-1000 B. Any place doing this IMHO is not "farang friendly". It seems, quite the opposite. Why not patronize and reward places that charge the same price to everyone regardless of nationality? By the way, I have been to this place (and paid the charge)....just to see if anything special was happening there. It certainly was not...the quality can be had at many other place....without the surcharge.

I also completely disagree with the comment that the "rejects" go to work at places where farangs visit. I have been to a few Thai only clubs with business associates....nothing special believe me.

The massage game is one where the best picks are sometimes least expected!!

This information I have cut out from the information-thread about how to get to and from the airport:

I arrived yesterday, Febr 25, in the afternoon to the Suvarnabhumi airport. Despite the above information I went to the Departure level. It was no problem at all to have a meter-taxi take me to Sukumvit, soi 2. The taxameter was 225 baht when we arrived at the hotel.

The "Unfriendliness" is really just your attitude to their practice. They don't feel that they are being unfriendly.
At least they publish their Farang surcharge and are consistent about it.This doesn't mean I like it. Its just like it or lump it.

But its another issue altogether as to whether the "models" at Poseidon are worth the extra Baht. I have been upstarirs and failed to find a really pretty faced one in a bunch of 12 to 15 models.
Girls being young is not good enough for me.
Young and nice figure does not equal pretty.

Some readers would complain that this massage stuff is really boring.

I've stayed in the Landmark 6 months ago, no problem at all taking your girl with you.

Tom Ling[/QUOTE]Yes, it quite simple and after new airport opened, I've seen the arrival taxi stand. From day one, I just took the evelator to 4th floor and you have taxi's looking to go back to city after dropping the pax.

Simple.come out of customs, take right turn & you will see the elevator, just press "4" come out the elevator, take a left turn and your out. You will find taxis wating for you. Just tell your address, tell him to flag the meter and your will pay the toll: simple.

Well I just got back from another full filled week in Bangkok and had a smashing good time as always!

I stayed at the Nana Hotel against the warnings of some of the forum members. The Majestic Suites were recommended instead and I tried to book there but they were full.

Pros: Cheap, good location, tight security, pool area is actually rather nice, just get there before the sun gets blocked out by the surrounding buildings. This seems to happen around 3PM.

Cons: Little run down. When was the last time you saw wood paneling in a hotel room? Carpets need to be replaced and the halls need a new coat of paint.

Made a trek down to Soi Cowboy one night and headed into a native American themed bar. Apache I think it was. The bar is not very big. It's something of a strip bar as in it's in the shape of one long strip with about 5 girls "dancing" (I use the term dancing loosely).

I found a nice dark skinned girl at the end who was really working it up on stage. While others seemed to be doing the obligator shuffle and wiggle this one was really getting into it. I chose her figuring she had a lot of energy and this strategy has worked well for me before.

So I bar fine her 500bht and we head back to the hotel for ST. When we get there she's very hesitant to get undressed which has got me worried. Here is the situation. I picked up a girl from Long Gun one night and we hit it off great. Ended up going long time and kept her all night. She was phenomenal! Horny as hell. In the mean time I stood in the background reverently with my shoes and hat removed, taking photos of the absolutely beautiful works of art that were there, including the image of Buddha. I tried to translate this whole situation to something that I could relate to back in the States but couldn't.

The only thing I could come up with is an imaginary situation in some place like New York City. How would I feel if rich Arab Muslims routinely came over and picked up hookers from a well known red light district, lets call it little Arabia. And these women were not high class prostitutes but from the poorer section of the country, lets say the back woods and hills of West Virgina. Something akin to "white trash", "Jerry Springer" material. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I was told that bar girls are not looked upon very highly in Thai society). Not only do these imaginary Arabs come over to have fun with cute white girls they find so attractive but they also have the audacity to venture with them outside of the "zone" and take them around the city to where else, but some nice historic Cathedrals around town. These girls, who are probably inappropriately dressed, go in and kneel and pray while their companion, politely stands in the background photographing the site and situation.

I don't know how I would feel if I was a local and was sitting the pew next to such a girl who walked in. Would I be upset that she's disgracing the sanctity of a holy site or would I feel good that this Muslim has brought this woman of the sheets to kneel before God?
