I don't know if my tale of woe is a result of the fact that I am already a citizen of a primitive, backward banana republic (Israel) seeking entry into a second, but the Ghanaian embassy here is making me jump through hoops to get a visa.

First: just having the name of the fancy hotel that GC recommended is not enough - they want a copy of the email reservation. Strike 1.

Second: just having the name and contact info of a Ghanaian national or resident is not enough - they want a "letter of invitation" from this person.

So after palavering with the under-butt munch in his office for a while and going around in circles for twenty minutes (me: "But none of this was written on your website" and him: "Ah yes, thank you for calling this to my attention; we will be sure to change the website"), he tells me to ask the Gifty I have used as a reference to send me an email invitation which I can forward on to him.

I don't know whether he was angling for a bribe or just trying to set back the last few hundred thousand years of frontal lobe evolution with his immoveable insistence that "all of this is for your safety," but my visa seems to be dangling on the thread of Gifty's ability to send me the requisite email in requisite English.

My point: there is at least one Ghanaian embassy in the world where getting a tourist visa is not as straightforward as has been portrayed on this board.

And if there is one, there are probably others.

Regarding your visa: simply make a room reservation for 2 or 3 days and get an invitation letter from the respective hotel management! Frankie's in Osu will do you this favor and be sure that works out for getting your visa!

Got the girl to write the letter and forwarded the letter to the beaurocrat who tells me the visa will be ready on Monday. But not before pointing out again and most officiously that I have no copy of my reservation at the La Palma Hotel.

Promising, I suppose, but I am not holding my breath, nor am I certain that other red-tape-driven wrinkles will not develop.

Perhaps it is just this guy and all other embassies are reasonable. But I suspect not.

My advice: call ahead to your local embassy and make sure they have no other expectations of you apart from what the website or the forms require.

If you want a Dutch visa, not only do you have to get a letter of invitation, the letter of invitation has to be attested by the Town Hall of the city where the person inviting you lives. So don't be disheartened, your Ghanian friend is just aping the west. No pun intended.

Without further ado or foolishness the visa was waiting for me at the embassy as promised.

Just a random and irritating bureaucratic wrinkle, I guess. But the question remains: is this embassy isolated?

My advice remains: call ahead. Your country, too, may vary.

Boy it's been a while since I was on this forum and I see some of you have been quite busy! Great stuff fellas and excellent posts!
In the past I normally preferred to go to Jokers and play pool and hope that some coca cola figure with big boobs would walk in the door but that hardly ever happens. There are quite a few fine lookers there but I'm strictly a tit man myself so in that aspect pickings were slim. Basically I would be lucky to find one woman out of 50 to meet my standards (give or take) and sometimes not even one. I know, I know, that is just too picky but I can't help it! The way I see it, if I'm paying for it, so it better be what I want and that means slim waist and big tits! Simple no?? :)
Desperation led me to start hitting the streets during the day (running the risk of being seen by somebody and becoming the source of immense gossip), but as most of you would agree, this pays off immeasurably!
My first day driving around led me to this goddess of playmate like measurements (no exaggeration I'm telling you!). Of course I had to do a couple of U turns and drive through some small lanes just to catch up to her but I did and got her number and she was gold!! An earlier post mentioned On the Run near Legon campus. I agree with that and of course walking around the campus itself will make your johnson want to jump out of your pants and ram everything in sight!

Gentlemen:

Legon campus is always an excellent choice! Highly recommendable is the canteen with inexpensive food and pretty students. Although these girls are not even cheap (some of them demand 50 Cedis for ST!) one will find some real stunners there. Be assured that a first class f**k is always guaranteed, followed by an intelligent conversation (!) about all the world and his brother (if you like :))!

I am there quite frequently and would like to encourage all of you to give it a try as well!

Googling the Legon campus reveals that it is some eight miles removed from the city center.

Do the regulars of Accra recommend a car rental? Will taxis suffice? Are scooters or motorbikes a common mode of transport in Accra? A common mode of suicide? (I am an avid motorcyclist).

You can easily take a Tro-Tro (not even one Cedi), or simply stop a taxi (from Danqua Circle approx. 6 to 8 Cedis). Renting a motorbike? Why not!? When you can ride a scooter in Tel Aviv without bigger problems you will manage it in Accra as well!

Hi Guys,

It's so bloody hard to get online with all the crappy service I'm getting from Ghana Telecom. Useless jokers.

Anyway, the weekend turned into a bit of a bust. I took this one girl on Saturday afternoon to my usual spot but got no vibes from her and didn't really want to push so even though she was hotter than hell I have moved on. Sunday afternoon I took another one and she was just sweet as hell but no go there as well. I think Ghana is the best place for mongering in Africa. I have been to many African countries, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, you name it I have been there. Honestly nothing compares with ghana. It is very easy to get girls. I am talking about non-pros. And the sex, you will enjoy every second of it. You can have threesome, foursome whatever you want. You will never be disappointed. These girls are pretty much everywhere. I used to frequent universities. Young, smart and beautiful girls. If you are a kind of handsome, they will come directly to u.
