Nightwing here wishing to offer all my brothers in ISG Shanghai land a very merry Christmas and prosperous New year!
While I don't monger that often anymore because of work commitments, I've only been choosing the best environment I can when I do. That place would be Heting Elite (on 777 Siping Lu). Žl•½˜H777†
Take Metro #8 line to Siping Lu Station, exit station and walk southwest on Siping about 200 metres to get to Heting. Outside of Heting is a black glass wall, that gives no description of what is going on inside. But, be prepared to be pampered once you do go in. Price is 698 after 5, 598 before 5. If you want a fapiao, be prepared to pay an extra 100 RMB. Yes, it is more expensive than the villages and BBS shops that charge 100-200RMB. But, this is what you get and this is why I like it more now.
1. Select from a bunch of girls that are pressured to give great service. The girls are on quota to have a customer select them by number at the front desk every month, otherwise their pay is deducted. So, they have perform and satisfy every customer fully and they want you to come back and remember their number. You usually pick from a group of about 5 to 10. The appearances range from 5 to 8, but the service is great.
2. Multiple Pops. Here is how you do it. As soon as you walk in the door, don't let the girl do the usual routine. Go straight to doing the deed, and the girl will oblige. After you are done, she will then continue with the usual routine, and at some point later in the session, you will have an opportunity to do it again! I usually do the girl twice, and once did her three times. Note to the wise: Don't do three times, unless you are young at heart. I almost fainted from the exertion.
3. Nicest environment by far. The sauna is clean and hot, the showers are clean and hot, the jacuzzi tub is clean and hot. The furnishings of Heting make it look more like a nightclub than a sauna; and I've been to quite a few saunas in Shanghai and China. By the way, did I mention it was clean?
4. Food. After the deed is done, you can relax in your private room with your buddies and order a light snack of noodles and dim sum with unlimited soft drinks or tea. Oh, and did I mention the price? It's free and included with the fee.
5. Discreet. They add a lot of nice touches as you are leaving. They will call a taxi for you if needed, so you just wait inside until your car arrives. If you drive to Heting, we've noticed that they also cover your license plates with a towel, so that no one can identify your car if they are walking by!
6. Managers. The managers are great and speak English. Always ask for Bob when you get there and he will make sure you have a great time. The managers also take the effort to follow up with you afterwards to make sure that you've enjoyed yourself and take notes to improve their service in the future. If more legitimate businesses in China made this type of effort, it would make working here in China that much better!
7. Only area of improvement I would add is that it would be great if they had free WiFi in the resting rooms as well!

First, I really like to thank Nightwing88, very good report and advice! Actually I just came back from Heting where I got a very very nice moment. Indeed everything is like NW88 said, just one thing troubled me: everything was very very clean except one thing: the toilette XD, but I mean is still ok, I will go back. I can say that definitly, Heting is better than G18 and JinDing IMHO.
I had 153 in a line of 5 girls, not very cut (I would give her 6/10) but very good service I would give here 8/10, why not more: cause they don't do anal, so.1; and the girl talked a bit too much so the 2nd shot was a bit a rush (I can speak Chinese pretty well but also I might just blame myself for that)!
The reste is:
Attitude: 9/10, I never give 10
BBBJ: 8/10
Skin: 9/10, (very soft)
So overall I would give this girl a 8 or 8, 5/10, but so far it is my best experience I had in SH, so I would recommande that place very much!
Hope fully next time I'll go they have more girls, and above 6/10.

There's a huge entertainment complex called 868, which includes a hotel, sauna (650 for the works though never tried it) at least 2 KTV's and a hotel. I used to be willing to pay close to that for B2 back in the day, but have a better source for the sauna experience now. More detail on that to follow in the next few days, so for now let's stick to that complex. Located just off Xizhuang station but tucked beside the huge bridge/overpass, off Xinzhu lu. Xinzhu lu itself has many little gems especially if you're into younger, more enthusiastic BBS ladies. I live near there and once when in a taxi, my wife commented "xinzhu lu looks like a bad street. I don't like it", which was just the thing I wanted to hear considering I don't live too far from there.
Anyway, the disco/bar at 868 is huge. Drinks are relatively cheap. I believe 6 bottles of tsingtao will run you 100, and a bottle of (godawful) wine is 70 (!), and although it's reminiscent of a local disco, the place is crawling with julu lu style talking girls. They drink with you out of little glasses, toasting and giggling. The hilarious thing is the last time we were there, all the girls were saying they want to marry foreigners. AFAIK, no other foreigners really frequent the place, so your prestige increases, as does the girls' enthusiasm because the place is generally dead. Even on a Saturday night, there are generally 2 groups or so, and most of the locals that go there order private KTV style rooms. I never really partook in the KTV experence as I'm generally with a small group of 2 or 3, and use the place as a watering hole for further mongering later.
As with most of these places, the girls will tease and entertain you, though with a little bit of Chinese language skill, they generally turn out to be quite candid. I personally found the old (no pun intended) julu girls to be slightly jaded and cynical, though who could blame them. I had recently befriended one of them. She was a cute little thing from Sichuan who had been working here for six months and had never been outside of that area. Basically, the girls work every day and don't really have a social life. Their pay is based on their work and a deposit system whereas they get their full salary after completing their contracts (which most of them never do). So I decided to take her out for a day of exploring the city, as she's a really sweet girl. She was great to hang out with and could have become a regular freebie, though it would have meant taking on an array of psychological and financial obligations. I'm married and live in that area, so it could have opened up a can of worms that woudl come back and haunt me. From what she'd told me most of the girls there are in a sort of "WG" purgatory/waiting list, looking for other work or testing the waters of that lifestyle. The conditions of the place are pretty crap and they seem to admire their ex-colleagues who went on to become mistresses or get waitress jobs at downtown bars. Sichuan girl is 19 and is happy enough to "have rice" two times a day and a roof over her head though once they clue into the reality of the game they start looking for better.
I highly recommend 868 for flirtation, especially if you're with a group of fellow mongerers. In addition to that the BBS's and faux saunas are within walking distance, some even attached to this mammoth entertainment complex. The BBS's charge 120-130 for FS, and if you become a regular the quality is excellent.
FS is not on the menu at 868 itself, but the ladies are keen to become "friends" and are able to go out and most of them seem to be happy to switch jobs. My Sichuan girl keeps asking me if I know any bars in the city center that are hiring, as she's keen to move on but wants something/someone to fall back on.
The management of this place is also desperate for business, it seems, and there's a total laissez faire attitude, especially since they MUST be losing loads of money. Those who've been in China for a while can recognize it as one of those mega projects some official had the bright idea of building that never quite turned into the next Las Vegas.
So find xinzhu lu near xinzhuang station, then take the big footbridge and you'll see this complex. It's one of the few places left in Shanghai which still has a sort of "anything goes" feel of a few years ago. It's a little bizarre, but is becoming a nice little home base. I need to pay some membership dues to the site then will get private messaging, so if anyone is interested could join them on a little expedition of the area. Just need to figure out a discrete way to do it without the missus finding out.
In any case, that's my 868 report. Blacklisted, or whover else is willing to brave the cold of Shanghai, take a walk around it and check out some of the places. As you head towards Yindu lu, you will be blown away (pun intended). I will post the faux sauna report soon.

Search the forum for posts on VPN services. You will need one in China to get around the internet sphincter police. I use "Strong VPN," a paid service rather than a free service. It has been quite trustworthy for the past four months.

Another fantastic report and this is exactly what I am looking for right now after feeling a bit sad and jaded by the demise of the former sin city in light of the coming expo. I know EXACTLY what you mean when you write about the anything goes feel of Shanghai back then and it's a real tragedy to see it slide.
I hope your post does not attract the attentions of the wrong kind which could be disastrous for you considering it is your local and sounds brilliant. Have seen it happen a few too many times and it can happen in the blink of an eye.
I humbly recommend you keep some of these joints close to your chest and good thinking on not posting any specifics in the first report.

I use Witopia and whilst the basic service plan at $39.99 gets me into ISG it stopped working for the likes of Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. I will have to upgrade to the $69.99 plan (SSL) or find another alternative.

The wandering hunt. You know it well, and I think I would have stopped the whole game ages ago if there wasn't for the thrill of exploration. A few weeks ago, it was one of the last evenings still suitable for walking around, and with the missus on a business trip, I decided to check out a village nearby. I tried G18 twice over the past two weeks. Selection was acceptable in the afternoon but I didn't find any of the hotties others have mentioned. The place seems busy. The routine has been reported many times so I will skip it. I do find it disappointing that some of the rooms don't have any mirrors, and no mirror in the shower area. well... witopia's VPN does not work for me, and their customer service just stopped responding to me.
They gave me access to the PPTP service, which I am using right now for ISG. but I can't get to facebook with it.
