I had one nice New Year's Eve there in 2011 or 2012 when the place was packed and lively, and every other time the place was a ghost town. Good for pool and that was about it. What a waste of a space. It should have been a thriving club.

Might follow La Cafes M. O. IE register a new business with what appears to be new owners and re-open under a different name. Prime spot, it will rise again under new name, methinks.

I passed by it at 8:30 am this morning. It certainly looked like it was permanently closed. This was a few seconds after passing LA Cafe where there were a few providers in situ despite the early hour. One looked out the window and smiled. Several missing front teeth.

Always loved Amazonia ambience. Perhaps if they had lowered their prices there would have been more patrons in there, as well as get rid of some old skanks. I could never figure what the deal was with there being no patrons in the joint ever. On a humorous note, I once took a girl there who presented herself as socially a cut above, only to be barred entrance. She lost all composure and launched into a tirade saying that she was not responsible for some prior incident. Laughed and just walked on while the girl was remonstrating with security, she soon caught up with me laughing my ass off.

'Unpayed taxes' perhaps is a social speak rather than saying they did not meet their bribe quota?
