It looks like an underground operation contrary to what one has in Germany where the address is disclosed on the website.

We do not put our address up because we want all first time visitors to call beforehand in order that we may vet them and also control the numbers attending events.

Where we to put the exact address on the website,based on the phone calls we receive, we would have people turning up at all hours of the day and night!

When people attend events they understand the reasons behind this and will always call before attending future events to check if there are spaces.

I don't think it is appropriate to compare how things are done in different countries as there are many different factors in play.

In case you did not notice, Germany and the UK are 2 different countries with different laws, and, more importantly, different mentality.

If people in London knew what was happening in the flat near them, they would scream, call the police and the tabloid press,in order to get LM out. Hence the discretion. In germany they don't care, as long as you mind your business...

At the end of the day, adjust to the place where you are and enjoy. I love LMP parties as much as FKK evenings. The way I get there does not matter, what matters is what happen once you are in!

i went to look at soho for myself today. i couldn't believe what i saw. the place has really changed. no more walk-ups around peter street, berwick street, etc. - they've all been closed and boarded up. completely dead.

this is one example of how gentrification can ruin the character of an area. i never actually went to one of those walk-ups, but i used to love the sleazy atmosphere of those streets, the feeling of "temptation" i'd get from walking past them, etc.

I have been browsing the internet and i request inputs from this forum on:

1. Opportunities for Freebie's in london, and any inputs would be appreciated. Places to go, approach, tactics etc.

The picture isn’t nearly as bleak as presented by 'London2007' below, although the corner of Berwick and Peter Street is still a sad eyesore, especially to those who have enjoyed so many good times in Blore Court.

Elsewhere, there are four walk-ups in Lisle Street, two in Old Compton Street, two in Romilly Street, and also flats in Dean, Bateman, Frith and Greek streets, in malodorous Green’s Court, and in Newport Court. And this list is not comprehensive because even Muri can’t get his ageing dick everywhere.

So old Soho is not dead yet. I have had conversations on this subject with Angie and Andra, both now at 4 Old Compton Street – also with Chelsea, the ever-popular ‘tall, leggy English blonde’ as her advert accurately describes her – the tourists just queue up to shag a real English girl in this cosmopolitan district -and with Amber. These are all intelligent as well as attractive women, and it is a liberating experience to talk about the hobby with them, although Andra, the most striking of them all, was a little out of sorts the last time I had the pleasure.

In particular Angie was very informative, saying that the council had given quite a few months’ advance warning about the redevelopment of the Berwick St/Peter Street block, and that as far as she knew, no such notice has yet been given to any of the other walk-ups. But if the S end of Berwick Street is really going to be ‘gentrified’, then we can hold out little hope for the nests at 26 and 28 Peter Street, opposite.

The closed buildings, by the way, remain boarded up, with absolutely no indication anywhere of what the forthcoming project might be and when it is to be executed – typical of the council’s undemocratic arrogance.

Will ‘gentrification’ also mean the end of the market barrows with their raucous salesmen (which of us has not enjoyed tonguing Lori’s nipples, to a soundtrack of “Luvverly strawberries! Firm juicy Pears!" from the street below)?

Or will the market be tolerated as ‘local colour’, just as long as the barrow boys promise not to shout “faaark orrf!” more than once an hour?

If the market goes, and fuckin’ Starbucks arrives, we can kiss goodbye to one more traditional corner of London, which has blessed and enlivened residents and visitors for more than 200 years.

Yes, yes, it could be a lot worse, we should count our blessings, for it's a shitty world, and we could be in Baghdad or Darfur, or in Guantanamo Bay in a cage, trussed up and hooded, with some Bible-belt brute pissing on us. (Come to think of it, some of the Soho mongers would probably pay good money for that last experience).

But still, this gives a man a heavy heart. Advice to London hobby tourists has to be, 'do Soho now, before it vanishes.'

And no news from the Les Girls website, which announced on June 22nd that they were going to move to premises near Bond St tube ‘at the end of July’, but which has fallen silent ever since…

Merlin, this is alarming. Mur has not yet been to Bangkok and would like to plan a trip before he reaches his 95th year. Asian girls aren't really his thing, but a man has to try everything, once.
