Another friend of mine in Japan was single had two jobs clocking about $4000 a month and still was bleeding Japanese guys showing me her $3000 Cartier watch. It’s a dirty game.
The first Filipina I experienced about 4 years ago when I was green as a football field grass, when I did not know the P4P scene existed was a provincial girl. Early in the relationship she never asked for anything but then she started and it got to the point where she started lying to achieve her goal… it was not her I might add but family pressure till I finally told her to take a hike then she tried to commit suicide. It’s a fucked up world She now resides in New York with her newly wed husband.

Every time I am in town a party is thrown at their expense for me.

While in the West it's all about a romantic ideal, and finding one's "soul mate," in Asia it's a hell of a lot more pragmatic and relates to financial security and perhaps furthering family or clan interests. I think that this may be one of the issues that D Etat is getting at here.
For many girls in the Philippines, particularly poor women, relationships are inextricably related to satisfying the utang na loob (the debt of the heart) imposed or precipitated by their families. Because of their circumstances--both economic and emotional--this obligation is paramount and satisfying the obligation takes money above all else. These women cannot afford to be overly romantic. They need to be practical.
This is not said in the way of judgment, but merely to comment on the existence of two very different value systems. Though it's possible, it's not very helpful to judge one in terms of the other. The westerner expects a woman to "love me for myself," whereas a Filipina, or a Thai, or an Indonesian knows that there are always other factors--often more important factors--to consider. Those westerners who cannot accept this basic, essential difference in perspective are probably not going to find many totally satisfying relationships here.

You didn't mention Japanese, but since I was married to one, I can confirm that even there the family unit, the "clan", does often take precedence -- especially when a spouse is a foreigner. As soon as the baby is born, many husbands calll their wives "momma" and wives call their husbands "papa". Yuck!

I know that group well as I've belonged to it for a while. It's okay. The best explanation I found on the subject was written by a Philippine Sociologist from Ateneo de Manila, but I forget the title. I may still have it and I will try to find it and cite it.
I think that literally translated the term means something like "debt of the heart," or perhaps of the soul. It's a feeling of almost absolute obligation that a child owes to his or her parents the the privilege of being born. Somehow or another, the "utang" extends to the entire family. That's the concept as I understand it but I'm sure my understanding is imperfect as it is of so many aspects of this culture.

Yes I am saying the Filipinos I have met in various locations solicit money from would be individuals. In Japan and Dubai the Filipinas are brash and in most cases sophisticated. They will on the other hand fleece you if you are green for much more then the girls in PI.

I have my plate full with Japanese women at the moment, so why do I spend money on going to the Philippines? That wasn't your exact question, but close enough. And a good question it is....I've often asked it myself. This money could be put in the bank or used for other purposes!!! Maybe I'm one of those guys to belong in the sexaholic therapy groups! If you want a Filipina in Japan, you have to be willing to pay and I am not talking about a BF, I am talking about spending big money and you have to compete with the rich Japanese. If it was the same here as in Japan, why would there be so many Japanese men here? When I was in Japan, I dated Japanese ladies, but IMHO nothing compares to Filipina’s in the Philippines.
