Pirata has gone downhill for several years and now only attracts some tourists. By the way, to my knowledge the beachside entry is always closed (at least on Mondays).

In a few weeks I'll be returning to one of my favorite cities of the northeast! I'm looking to switch it up this time with a new GF hotel. Some of the GF hotels that I've stayed at in the past that are GF: the iracema travel hotel ( 30 usd + 100 reals per guest), hotel sonata ( 55 usd) and the oasis Atlantico ( 60 usd).

Can anybody be so kind to share their experiences with any pousadas or better yet hotels that are GF in Fortaleza. I've RTFF and there is very little information on this subject.

Obrigado amigos.[/QUOTE]In Iracema there are several hotels and pousadas that are GF and charge nothing extra when you bring a guest. You could try Hotel Elegance (almost opposite Zipi Bar). Try to get the room with the balcony (which has a statue). Some rooms are nice and some are bad. The italian owner can be a prick so make sure you have an agreement about bringing guests for free.

The last years I've stayed at the Iracema Travel Hotel. I'm sure they charge for a guest, but unless you arrive with your guest at nighttime you can easily sneak her by the reception. There are lots of excursions staying at that hotel and lots of people passing by the reception area all the time. BTW, top floor rooms have much better standard than the rooms on lower floors.

I had been to Fortaleza 3 years ago, and liked it. Happened a lot around Zippi bar and Iracema. Wondering how the situation is today? Planning to go there in November and December!

I used to go to Fortaleza and Natal about 15 years ago with a friend of mine (now passed away).

All the places you list here recall sweet stories. Sad that all has gone. I'm not sure the population is happier now. Likely they have reduced their income.

The touristic area is small in comparison to the city, but it used to produce revenues for many. And tourist are not criminals at all.

Colombia is the new place to go, pretty girls, but the Brazilian charm is missing (and I'm older).

How much Fortaleza has changed or is going downhill depends on what, or rather to when, you compare. A short reflection based on the last 31 years I've been visiting Fortaleza.

Chico do Carangueijo (Praia do Futuro) on Thursday were like Sodom and Gomorra, when you met a girl there you could just bring her outside to some beach chairs and f*ck her (I remember once getting a BJ in a beach chair, when I looked around in the dark I saw 7 couples close by also having sex on the beach). There were also a bunch of giant forr clubs in the outskirts of Fortaleza that hold 5000 people, as a gringo you were the main attraction. There were a great interest among the regular girls to meet gringos. It was rare that you had to pay for sex, and sometimes there were threesomes with two regular girls.

*The 2000's: The scene changed. Less action along the orla in Iracema. Many of the bars got abandoned. The maresia (salty winds) destroyed the buildings in the Iracema orla. Instead the GP Action moved to the working girl crossing in Iracema. There were the big club Kangoroo (changed name to Capital and later to Forr & Mamboo), Cafe del Mar, Europa Bar, Bikini Bar, The Reggae Bar, Zipi and several other bars and clubs. There were a strong concentration of GPS in one small area. Many regular girls 18+ went to Iracema to earn some extra money. Often you could ask them if they had friends who would also like to earn some money. Beira Mar and the orla still had a share of the action. The forr clubs still worked. There were a giant disco called Mucuripe with four dancefloors with different music. Mucuripe had a large percentage of super hot regular girls (I did a f*ck count and counted that 85% of the girls were very f*ckable). Croco Beach daytime had lots of GPS. The regular girls were still hungry for gringos.

*The 2010's: Now it started to go downhill with Fortaleza. The prefeitura hated that Fortaleza was a destination for sex tourists. Slowly the clubs in the working girl crossing closed one by one. The last survivor was Forr & Mamboo (Cafe del Mar was on second place). Zipi was still rocking, a small club but with some good quality girls. Armazem had lots of GPS on Wednesday. Beira Mar had less action, but usually plenty of GP's in the restaurants and bars close to McDonalds. Croco Beach turned into a family beach. The regular girls were still hungry for gringos, but not as much as before.

*The last years: The action has been very limited. Zipi Bar, Forro & Mamboo, Armazem and a bunch of GPS close to McDonald. The last years Fortaleza mongering has just been a shadow of what it used to be.

*All right, how does it looks today? This is only my third day in Fortaleza but this what I've seen so far:

- Forro & Mamboo: It's closed. IMO no loss as it has been very slow the last decade. From my hotel room I have a good view inside the club and it's not emptied. Who knows if they might open again in the future?

- Zipi Bar: I passed by the day before yesterday. Very few people inside the club. Yesterday I had some beers outside Zipi Bar. When I left a bit after 11 PM no guests had entered the bar, and just a handful of GPS gathering on the outside.

- Armazem: Wednesdays used to be working girl night. I don't know if it still works. They used to have a large sign on the outside telling which bands that would play on the different evenings that week. That sign is gone.

- Pirata: Yesterday was Pirata evening. I passed by on the backside. Maximum of 50 people on the inside.

- Croco Beach: Much less people than normal and mostly families.

- Beira Mar: Here the prefeitura really has managed to destroy one of the most pleasant orlas in Brazil. Along the orla there used the be lots of restaurants and bars with people partying and some bars with GPS. Now they have removed most of the establishments. Instead they have constructed parking lots. All the big beautiful palm trees are gone. The few bars that are still left are much smaller than before. The working girl point in front of McDonalds is gone. What happened is that they have widen the beach a lot. All of the permanent barracas are now far away from the waterfront. They also have constructed, in the middle of the beach, very wide paths for bikers and runners. Side-note: For those who enjoys early morning runs. Try running from ex-ponte Metalica in Iracema to Mercado do Peixe at the end of Beira Mar. It's 10 km back and fourth. Just after 5 AM there about 1000 runners every morning. Great fun and lots of extremely fit girls.

- Favelada flirting. On weekends Iracema and Beira Mar gets invaded by the young Fortaleza favela crowd. Be careful as there are many thieves in that crowd. However there are tons of very sexy and flirting favela girls.

- Regular girls: As long as you have a bit of game there shouldn't be any problems to find regular girls. I have a small stable with regular girls I call every time I'll get to Fortaleza-.

* The priv scene:

- In centro there are many buildings with prives. Nothing has changed here. You'll find these buildings on Rua Sena Madureira 961 and Rua 24 de Maio 268/754 / 876. There is a reason these places earned nicknames like "Corredor do Inferno" (Hells corridor). It's quite fun to visit these places but don't have any expectations. However once in a decade there might be a gem. They charge 40 reais.

- Monsenhor Tabosa 111 used to be a really good priv spot. On the second floor there used to be something like 10 prives with some really good quality. Yesterday I went there and now there is only 2 prives left. You can't miss them as they are the only apartments with door mats on the outside, one even has a "Welcome" sign. Four girls in each priv. It's incredibly that the price continues the same, 100 reais /1 hour.

- Yesterday I chose Sofia. Morena clara, 28 years, medium sized firm tits and a nice round medium sized butt. Her face was not the cutest one, but what a sexmachine she was. Great BBBJ and f*cks extremely good.

- Today I went back and had problems to choose. A blond girl who runs the priv took of her robe and let me play with her nice boobies, but instead I chose her colleague Vanessa. Came in to echo what others have said about the demise of Fortaleza. I'm here right now and don't see myself coming back again, ever. What has happened to the iracema beach area and the former ho crossing is tragic from a monger's perspective. Gentrification at its finest. I took a short stroll around the area after a brief absence of about 3 years and I am blown away at the development. Hit up the armazem on Wednesday and it was like stepping into a bar in Naples. Nothing against my Italian cousins but you guys are showing up in droves and the Brazilian vibe is nonexistent. Zipi bar has had an alright crowd but the older Italian gentlemen far out number the GDP's. Speaking of the GDP's, there are still a few stunners to be had but their entitled attitudes have put me off. I would qualify Fortal as a seller's market these days and to that I will be giving my final farewell. See ya never Fortaleza! A few weeks ago I was super excited about this visit, now I'm counting the hours before I can gfto.

Sounds like those direct flights from Italy to Fortaleza, still exist and are going strong.

I just got back from 2 weeks in Fortaleza because I'm dating a girl from there. Situation worsened: the only prostitution clubs left are ZIPI, 20 girls present but few beautiful. And on Wednesday ARMAZEM, with girls different from the zipi, but little movement of people. In August there are only Italian men, while in September the city empties completely, even these two places. Request for sex 300 reais on average. At the end of the evening, some drop to 200 reais. There are no other options for sex, other than web ads (photoacompanhantes, skokka, erosguia). Unfortunately, in Fortaleza there is nothing left of the sex scene, which has been over for at least 10 years. After two days you are already bored. The prefecture has won the battle against prostitution. I recommend going to other cities. At most I recommend a weekend.

Interesting to note though, the last two (2) reports have the Italians, adapting, by the looks of things, just fine.

I wanted to add a little info of what bm Sperto has said about the massive concrete expansion that has been developed since the pandemic along the orla in front of the McDonald's and near the oasis atlantico hotel where all the GDP's used to occupy the barracas where they hunted for punters. His description was quite accurate about the demolition of those the former "hook up" barracas and how they have been moved down towards the beachfront and closer to the water. What he failed to mention was that a giant complex of storage lockers has been built in their place where to old barracas operated. These ugly storage lockers house a multitude of small souvenir shops that seem to be selling all the same things. Little useless trinkets, dried fruits and nuts, some stalls are selling identical swim wear. Walking through these newly constructed metal stalls Is nothing but a total eyesore of redundancy and a shame to witness. Long Gone is the vibe of yesteryear. This part of Beira Mar. Is now the official black eye sore of the concrete jungle nearest the Mar. The flavor is bland and best to be avoided unless you feel like buying some over priced wares.

I wrote this for those folks who think they can find action away from iracema beach. It's all gone folks. Don't waste your time thinking you can find some action outside the old monger zones. The credits have rolled and the sexual saga is over. I won't be bore you with anymore negative reviews as enough has been said already.

Ok, Fortaleza nightlife is a shadow of its former self. I get that, but what about Recife nightlife? The reason I ask is because I want to explore some of the beaches up north and I figure that means I might spend a Friday and or Saturday night in one of these 2 cities. I think I already know the answer, but it does not hurt to ask those with 1st hand information.

I liked the relaxed atmosphere of Fortaleza and enjoyed a lot Jericoacoara in Ceará. Found easy to engage with regular ladies in the northeast, a lot of the girls that you will find in Sampa will come from that region. Still is a 3 and half hour flight to Fortaleza. I personally enjoyed more visiting Bahia; Salvador, Trancoso and Morro de São Paulo. Salvador is an interesting place to visit, if you have not been there before. Also, found the beaches in RGN and Alagoas more to my preference.

The question I had in my mind was whether it was worth it go solo and have a little fun Friday and or Saturday in Fortelaza on the way to the beach or bring my favorite SP girl along for the ride.
