Okay I do undertsnad that Pattaya does not have same cultural standards as the rest of Thailand. Anything goes, right?

I was last in Pattaya (south Pattaya / Jomtien) 15 years ago and I was not impressed at all.

Dirty beaches with rubbish floating in the water. Too many tourists. Worse than Patong beach Phuket.

Since then, I can find far better Beach resorts. E. G. Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi, some beaches in Phuket, even Koh Samet.

Samui is okay but a bit boring for me and expensive to get to. Koh Samet is closer cheaper alternative.

I would like to try Koh Lanta too.

Koh Lipe (Satun province) was my favourite for nature although probably no sex available there unless take your own or hook up.

Koh Lipe seemed to have no Americans nor British.

Tourists seemed to be mostly Scandanavian and many family groups looking for unspoiled nature.
My other favorite province in Thailand is Mae Hong Son (pronounced: mae hawng sawn). Don't know if sex is available easily (but probably is).

What else attracts to Pattaya?

Since many Thais in my opinion will never be able to leave this country by air. If they are it wouldn't be often? When I tell Thais what I have to pay to fly just to be away for a few weeks their expression is it is more than what they make in a year. Just the fact we can do things like fly or even spend money on a cup of coffee at Starbucks gives the wrong impression that we are all rich? My cousin is here now and tells all the girls he doesn't have any money but barfines them and take them to Fuji, KFC, Coffee 94, MK, etc. It is a contradiction and Thais think we are cheap and just lying to them.

I carry a I. D. To drive, I don't feel I have to wear it around my neck to tell them I live here. Being a miniority in the USA I don't think I should have to wear my birth certificate to let people know I was born in the USA I go around acting if I was home unless I'm ask I don't provide. I too recently came back from the States with my brother and miss the Bell bus because of the long lines at immigration. With lots of lugguge and it raining I didn't want to play around so I went to the taxi stand which I know is 1500 baht to Pattaya. I spoke a little Thai to her and she look at our lugguge and ask the drivers lining up who wants to go to Pattaya, everyone look the other way. She said it will cost you more and I politely told her I usuallly pay 1000 to 1200 and that includes toll but I'm here giving you my business. A minute later a station wagon Toyota pull up and off we went.

Thai women from my experience are told that we Farang are just pulling their legs about not having money. They have been taught that we are holding back on them but then we turn around (see my post above) sure it is a good line about being #2, they will invest the time to see if they can move you up to #1, it is all a game with them given the opportunity they will test you in the future to see how big your heart is which translate into how much money is in the ATM? Money isn't important to them if they are with their useless Thai boyfriend and their own kind but that standard doesn't apply to Farangs. As a Farang you might be #2 now but as time goes on they will try to move you into #1 and as noted that comes with responsibilities, your friend is now paying 800 baht to the girl and having a great time sooner or later she will try to move him to #1, whether she can is another matter but she will try and your friend might not even know it. I think the big advantage he has is that they have you along as a friend to prevent that.
