Must have had something to do with a camera.
Definitely nothing to do with a camera. Last time I was in there various people were taking pictures their asses off.

Tom Jackin's Trip report
If I recall correctly, you were (are?) a military man and yet, I find your sense of aesthetics as in your photos always pleasing, perhaps intriguing as well. Keep up the good work Bro.

Need to know!
Hey Kman,
Besides getting barred from Hong Kong in Tijuana tonight, I'm doing fine. Classicos is close, not sure when it will reopen. D'Latin is an open air bar, with not much of a so called dance floor; no AC.
I met Angel in Latino over three years ago, a great mesero and he became a friend over the years; he got killed in a motorcycle accident.
All of my best friends are in this photo: Little Dancer, China, Juan, Miguel, and Angel is in the white shirt displaying the peace signs. RIP my friend.
Banned from the Hong Kong Club! Thats a story I'd like to hear!

Yesterday I was pulled out of the club by the day manager and some other dude. I was told that I posted pictures on the Internet of one of the girls in Hong Kong. I told them that it was not true and I asked to see the pictures or talk to the girl.
To my surprise, Carolina, a girl that I have been friends with for over three years, came forward and called me on the pictures.
I do not have any photos of Carolina, thus, I never posted any pictures of her anywhere!
I was told I was barred from the club and could never return.
This is complete bullshit!
So whatever cocksucker ran to Carolina and told her otherwise; Fuck You!

Cabanas?
I'm moving to El Batey in July. I have a few questions: Cabanas? What do they cost? Available on a monthly, or volume rate? Many Cabanas in Puerto Plata also? Re; Safety in El Batey; How about daytime, between Pedro Clisante and north to the beach / ocean area that is a 1/2 mile east of Sosua Bay. How deep is Sosusa Bay 300 feet out? BTW, I have recently been to Medellin for one month, so, anyone wanting.
Thanks,
Gary
Cabanas? What do they cost? Available on a monthly, or volume rate? Many Cabanas in Puerto Plata also?
There are four cabanas in Pto Pta, all along the road leading out of the city westward (towards Imbert) , plus another and cheaper one about three miles further along the same road.
There are two in Sosua and one in Cangrejos, which is between the two towns.
Are there any in Cabarete?
I never heard of a contract rate. Dominicans don't do that much in any walk of life. I once bought out the complete stock of Coca Cola in a colmado for a party I was giving. When I asked for a bulk discount the owner's wife told him to charge me extra because I would be inconveniencing their regular customers who they would have to disappoint.
It is also very common for large sizes in stores to cost more than the same quantity made up from smaller sizes. And I just read one bar in Sosua charges the same (100 pesos) for Presidente pequenas and grandes.
Welcome to the DR, Gary. Is it planned to be a permanent move?

I don't understand that

Welcome to the DR, Gary. Is it planned to be a permanent move?
The prices for smaller items as opposed to larger I don't get. I live in DR about 75% of the year, so I shop in supermarkets and I have a pricesmart card. I've bought 1 container of 3lbs of butter that cost more than 3 1lb containers of the same brand.
I've seen individual packs go for less per unit than bulk stuff. I point that out to the management, friends and such and I don't understand. I've also seen, a bundled 4 pack of carnation milk that is more expensive if you buy them individual.
I do like the buy an item get something related for free. They will tape things together like Rice and Oil. Dish detergent and a sponge.
The prices for smaller items as opposed to larger I don't get.
This is interesting. I rented a car recently and doing the reseach, found the weekly rate was higher than the daily rate multiplied seven times for one agency. First I thought I was reading wrong then on further delving, found out it was true for other rental companies as well. Evidently, the laws of Economics are not as universal as one would have thought.

Seeking Data
This will be my first trip to DR after spending a lot of time in Peru and Colombia. I am a hair kind of guy and am curious if I have made a mistake in my destination. Do Dominican women allow you to touch their hair? Or do they get a little jaded if you try? I am already set for last week of June after leaving a very crappy dry country that ends in stan. So, I would hate to got to Sosua and realize, the sex sucks because I cannot do what pleases me. Last GF I had with African descent was OK with me touching her hair, but I have heard some horror stories with the amount of women with extensions and wigs moving into the market.
Lastly, will the last week of June be a busy time in Sosua or will it be packed? Trying to get the seasons down, but am not sure which my trip will fall into?
Thanks gents!

Sorry to read that, Tom. I always enjoyed your pics of the chicas con chis chis muy grande.

Evidently, the laws of Economics are not as universal as one would have thought.
No, either the people doing the pricing cannot calculate properly, or the people doing the buying can't. At least that is one theory.
Another is that since many people in the DR are very poor, small sizes are priced very economically with low mark ups, but merchants figure that if people can afford the bigger size, they can probably pay a bit more, so you don't get the expected discount for bulk.
However this rule does not always apply. For example if you want to buy a single band aid, then you often can, perhaps for 5 pesos, but the percentage markup is probably astronomical. Contrast this to WalMart in the US, where if you want a single bandaid, you probably have to buy a pack of 50 or 100, albeit at a very low price per bandaid. In colmados, you can also buy items like single cigarettes, but I don't know the price.
If you want to buy a 5-gallon botellon of water in the DR, a refill is only 35 pesos once you have paid about 150 pesos for the original 5-gallon bottle, but you would pay 15 pesos for a 16 oz bottle of drinking water in the supermarket, and a great deal more at a bar, maybe 50 or 100 pesos (but then you are, of course, paying for chair rental, not for water as a commodity.)
In places like Pricemart where the name of the game is to sell economy sizes, often to businesses and restaurants, it is certainly cheaper for certain items like spices or bouillon cubes when bought in bulk. At the Latino supermarket in Sosua, you also get a good discount on bulk purchases of generic equivalents to Viagra, but then the owner is an Englishman.

Coming sosua
Thanks Charlie for your reply! I have a one-year lease at Infiniti-blu. Applying for my residency visa soon. Disapointed to see a large expense to pay for a DR sponsor! How much do cabanas cost? You mentioned some names of cabanas. Do they have multiple rooms? Is is safe in the daytime to walk from the banks to my place which is on the beach 1/2 mile east of Sosua bay. I was in Medellin for a month. The girls both pro and non-pro are friendly, but nothing special to look at. Normal.
Thanks,
Gary
